His Firecracker

"Conall answer the door please." Dee says to her mate.

"Hi, how may I help you?" He asks the two people standing at the door.

"I am Bethany and this is my son Colby." Bethanie tells him.


"Hey girl, come on in, don't mind him I told him to answer the door." Dee tells her bestie.

"Hi Aunt Dee, how are you?" Colby asks.

"Very good, how about you all?"

"We are good."

"Come on in, this is just a small gathering to introduce family members to other friends and family. No worries, no love connection here." Dee teases Bethanie.

"Hey guys, this is my friend Bethanie and her son Colby and this is Mathe and Cassie, Conall, Lachlan, Evander and Damhan." She introduces the lot to each other.

They all shake Bethanie's and Colby's hands and only one say, 'mate' when he shakes her hand. Who will that one person be? Is it Lachlan, Evander or Damhan?

Bethanie hears him say, 'Mate' but not sure if she heard what he said was accurate she just by passed him and continue to shake the other's hands. Dee heard one of the brothers's say, 'Mate' to her friend but did not pay attention to which one it was.

"Did he just say, 'MATE' to me Dee?"

"Um, yes one of them did but not sure which one though, I did not pay attention to which one it was. Why?"

"I just thought it was weird he would say that as he does not know me from Adam."

"Those boys do tend to do that at times."

"But I have a boyfriend Dee."


"That doesn't matter to them. What matters now is will you accept him or reject him? I would get to know him as friends first then make your decision. They are great guys."

Oh this is going to go so well between these two people and she will give him a run for his money for sure.

"Bethanie, yes?" He asks her.

"Yes, and you are? Sorry I do not remember your name."

"It's not that important right now, but would you go on a date with me? Please? So that we can get to know each other better."

"When are your wanting to go out? I have to check my schedule and all. I do have a boyfriend and will have to work this around him. Just so you know we are only going as friends and that is it."

"Yes, ma'am I completely understand. Nothing more and nothing less and won't expect anything in return but pure friendship." He tells her with hopes that it will all change.

Dee knows this is going to be hard on her friends because one Bethanie has a boyfriend and he is or can be possessive but so can my brothers. This is going to be showdown on its own to see who going to win her heart.

Bethanie calls her boyfriend, Chad, tells him they are not able to go out because she had to work late then she was going to go home and eat dinner since she had to get up and work early the next day. He understood and told her not to worry they would see each other on Sunday.

She could not believe that she was lying to her boyfriend to go out with her supposedly mate. 'What is with me doing this? I feel like I am cheating on Chad and I really haven't done anything with him. Oh Lord, what am I going to do?' Bethanie thinks to herself.

"Wow that was easy to get Bethanie to go out with me just by telling her we were going as friends. I mean I know she has a boyfriend but that can be rectified with not problem." He says out loud to no one in particular.

"Bethanie, who is the one that is taking you out on your date? And, don't you have a boyfriend?" Dee asks her bestie.

"Umm, I do not know I just remember that he is tall and hot as hell and well you know a body that won't quit. Damn he's dreamy you know the kind you see who spend too much time at the gym." Bethanie replies.

Dee just rolls her eyes and starts laughing her pants off at Beth's antics because she couldn't care less about the physique of men she was more into the companionship of a relationship now than anything. Also if he had a good job where he could support her but what woman doesn't want that. Right?

Dee thought her friend had no idea what was going to happen once she gets involved in our world. She may not like it and tell him to fuck off which would be like a rejection but then again he is not the type that would do that. He will pursue her till she gives into him and her need for him. He thinks he's so irresistible. So cocky he is (eye rolling here). Dee giggles to herself at what is about to take place and is pretty giddy to watch this all unfold in front of her.

"I am getting ready for my friend date and do not have anything to wear, Dee. Help me pick something out."

"We are going shopping girl, come on. I have his black card he gave me and told me to take you shopping for tonights date."

Dee takes me to the mall and we go shopping. We hit Macy's and could not find anything there so we moved on to the next store and the next and the next. We struck gold when Dee took me to her favorite store and started putting clothes in my hands.

"Hi! Ladies need any help finding anything for you to wear?" The sales clerk asks.

"We just need a dressing room for her so she can try these on is all." Dee tells her.


"I want to see those on you before you make a decision because it has to be perfect for tonight."

"Ugh, why does it have to be perfect Dee? Why can't I go with what I have on?"

"Because it's orders from him, your mate girlfriend. Do not argue with me or him. Just be prepared to be spoiled rotten by him. He will give you everything you will ever need or want with no questions asked."

"What if I don't want all that?"

"Ha you would be lying your pants off for saying that. You would never have to work again. Can Chad give that to you? Can he give you the galaxy and beyond with no questions asked? Or will you have to continue to work with him? These are somethings to think about Beth."

"Well, no I don't want to work, I want to quit and just relax and do nothing all day. I want to live by the ocean and the mountains, I want it all but it will never happen. Chad will never let me quit work we already discussed this."

"Ok, then give him a chance. He will show you his world and his life for which you will become a part of. Where you will live and learn to love everything about it, oh and you will have to fly to go home."


Bethanie gulps loudly, "Fly? Home? Where is exactly home at Dee?"

"Scotland, in a huge castle and he has a suite that is the size of an apartment with a three bedrooms, three bathrooms, an office, living room and huge kitchen. We actually all do have a suite or wing if you will. All five brothers live there and so will their mates. It's by the ocean set in woods and mountains."

"You live in the mountains and near a beach? Damn you got best of both worlds."

"So do you if you accept him you will have all the somethings with no questions."

The ladies found Bethanie's outfit for her date tonight and Bethanie was getting excited to go out with her new friend. But she was still having some guilty feelings about going since it would feel like she was cheating on her boyfriend.

Dee helps Bethanie get ready for her friend date with her 'mate' and had her hair and makeup done by some stylists from the pack. She got dressed in her outfit. It was an emerald green pant suit with a light yellow cami to go under her jacket. She did not have earrings or necklace to with the outfit as she did not think about this but Dee knew that her mate was taking care of this part.

He told Dee what colors he wanted his fire cracker to wear and she did just that.

"Beth you look fabulous I can't wait for you to see him he looks amazing too. Come down stairs when you get your shoes on and I will meet you there. Good luck tonight."

"Thanks, I just feel like I am cheating on my boyfriend by doing this. I am only doing this because you are my friend and he's your brother-in-law."

Bethanie left her room and started to head down the hall to the stair case. She was standing at the top when he looked up after Conall and Mathe coughed and moved their eyes up. He was in awe at how beautiful his mate looked. He was holding a box behind his back when she started descending the stairs. She looked at him and her breath caught in her throat.


She could not believe how handsome he looked in his black suit with emerald green tie and pale yellow shirt that matched her cami and pants suit. She looked over at Dee and she had a grin that covered her entire face. Right then Bethanie knew this was planned to have matching attire.

She meets her 'mate' at the bottom of the stairs and he takes her hand in his and she feels something weird going up her hand. She feels electricity moving throughout her body and removes her hand quickly out of his. He looks at her with a big grin and a twinkle in his eye as he felt the same thing she did.

"I notice you don't you have any jewelry on. Did you forget to purchase some?"

"Oh, yeah we did as we were in a hurry to get back, sorry."

"Darling don't worry, here I got this for you today when I was out running some errands."

She opened the velvet box appeared inside and saw the most gorgeous emerald and diamond necklace with matching earrings. He helped her put the necklace on as well as the earrings. He kisses her neck after putting the jewels on and sends tingles down her spine. She cannot help but close her eyes and slightly part her lips taking in a slight breath as he gives her little kisses.

Dee knows what is like to have that feeling for the first time and every time the need to be with your mate. The pull of the mate-bond is very strong and undeniable for both parties. To reject it would tear both parties apart if not destroy them until they were able to be mated with another mate. Dee prayed that neither of her friends would not do the to each other.

He takes her to a well known Scottish restaurant outside the pack boarders and into the human town. He took her to an expensive place where they had valet. He walked her inside and told the host they had reservations for two and then shown to their table.

He had already preordered a bottle of sweet red wine, and hors d'oeuvres. The place was romantic with a fire going in the fireplace, flowers setting on the tables, lights dimmed to a glow and candles on the table for just the right lighting to set the mood. There was not much of conversation but a comfortable silence from both of them. Neither one not exactly knowing what to say to each other.

"Bethanie, what do you like to do for fun?" He asks her while sipping on his wine.

"I like going to the gym, having dinner with my girlfriends, spending time with my son. What about you?" She asks her sexy date.

"Movies, fine dining, traveling the world to see the many different cultures and foods. My brothers and I are a bunch of foodies, specially Mathe since he is the chef of the family."

"Do you have any kids?"

"No, I do not have any children except for those that belong to my friends and family here in Scotland."

"How old is Colby? He seems to be a very nice gentleman and was raised properly with values. That means a lot in our family which I see in this world these days does not always hold true for others."

"He is 24 and yes I made sure that he knows how to treat people and women at that. I do not like rude kids let alone adults. So many people in the world today are rude specially kids. I have worked with very young kids his age and they are extremely lazy with no respect for people."

"I see that in our business and lay the law down on them. I tell them if they want a job they better act like it and straighten up or they don't have one the next time."

"You don't put with any crap do you?"

"No ma'am I do not nor do my brothers or their mates."

"This place is amazing, thank you for the evening."

"You are quite welcome. Ready to go?"

"Yes, if you are."

They leave the restaurant and head to a private club for shifters. Bethanie does not know about their kind just yet Dee has not told her anything about them nor has her date. The music is booming inside that can be heard outside with the doors open and security guards standing letting people in. Nobody gets carded since shifters of all kinds can drink when they are 18 and do not have to worry about getting drunk as it takes a lot for them to get intoxicated.

Waking in they see the brothers and most of the pack members. Bethanie walked over to Dee and told her about her date but she noticed someone sitting in a corner with some people, women to be exact. She looked over at the guy and noticed it was her boyfriend siting there a woman on each side hanging on him. He hadn't noticed her yet but she was not happy at all, furious was more like it.

I cannot believe Beth decided to dis our date to go out with some friends of hers. This is not her she is always into me just like all my other girlfriends that she does not know about.

"Why are you canceling our date for Saturday night?" I quizzically ask her. I want to know if she is lying to me.

"Something came up with Dee and her family and I need to be there. I had to go to Scotland and you know that so it is impossible to go on a date with you right now." I doubt she is telling me the truth but will see about that.

She hung up the phone on me without another word being said and that pissed me off to no end. Good thing I have a tracer on her phone that she knows nothing about this and I can follow her anywhere and everywhere I go. It's a good thing I have tickets to the someplace she is going but on a different flight.

Oh the webs we tangle to weave and not know we do this. I just wonder what she would do if she knew who I really am? Hmm, I wonder, just wonder.

"We are now boarding flight 5493 for Aberdeen, Scotland, seats A1-30" the gate attendant announces our flight.

I am standing in line to board, check in and walk the plank and find my seat. I request the window seat as usual since I like to see where I am going and where I have been. The scenery is always beautiful no matter where I go.

Bethanie is going to be so surprised when she sees me. But first I am going to have all the fun I can before I meet up with her. I have to somehow get her tell me when her real date is with and with whom it is with, but I have people here and in Italy who can do the work for me to find her.

Hours later...

Finally, here in Scotland and have bags and getting in my rental. Bagging a bitch already to release myself at the motel I am staying out is going to feel so good. Once I am done with her then I can discard her like all the others. God I hate commitments they are so passé.

"Hello, Bethanie how are you doing my sweet darling?" I called to check on her knowing she was busy but want to distract her from whatever she was doing today.

"Hi Chad, what are you doing?" She asks me as if I am annoying her.

I let out a sigh, "Who are you with? I hear voices around you, men at that."

"Are you jealous Chad? They are family to Dee." She tells me but I know different, I do not trust her.

"What is more important than me? Why must you go to see her and be up her ass all the time? You need to see me and be with me and me only and that is final do you understand me Beth? DO YOU?"

"Chad, I have a life outside of you and I have known Dee pretty much my whole life and will do what ever I want. I do not answer to you or anyone else for that matter so do not talk to me like that nor will you yell at me. You do not own me and that is FINALE!" She was furious with her tone.

She hung up on me abruptly and I looked at the phone just laughed knowing that in a couple days I would be oh so close to where she is staying. She won't even know what hit her when I get through with her.

"Was that Chad?" Dee questions me.

"Yeah, he's being an asshole as usual." Bethanie tells Dee.

"What did he say this time?"

"Just trying to control me is all which is usual. One of the reasons why I left so that I could get away from him. Apparently he's not going to let up."

"I can always take to him or one of the guys can." Dee tells Bethanie.

"He won't let up, he thinks he's all that and then some. He is so not a faithful person."

"Well, then going on the date is kinda of like a payback but without sleeping with him. Chad so deserves everything he gets."

"Yes, he does, even though I have some time invested in him but karma is a bitch."

"Yeah it is, now go get ready for the date I'll be up to help with make and hair."

"Ok see you in a bit."

"Oh, do not answer the phone again unless it's from the number I just text you or me."

"Ok, why?"

"Chad."

I called Beth again but she ignored my calls and I do not know why. I will get to the bottom of it and will take are of it fast.

Great just what I want is another call from a minion of mine. They are a pain in the ass, all of them are.

"What did you find out?" I ask Charlie.

"She is going to a posh restaurant tonight. Some guy not sure what his name is but his last name is Lyons-Mackley. I text you the address and where they are going afterwards sent you that address too."

"Thanks your money is in your account."

I did not follow her to the restaurant but had some of my minions their watching her laughing and talking to that Mackley guy. She lied to me of course the minions said to me they looked a little cozy but I could not always trust them as they exaggerated the truth most of the time and that is why I placed a camera at their reserved table.

I did however went to a local night club a few minutes away and got a booth back in the corner where nobody could see me or even recognize me. If she were to come in here I would be able to watch her myself. But of course I would be busy with my whores so I really did not care.

The music was extremely loud so I knew she would never come in here but I did watch the people who came in the door. Shit, I was not expecting her to be here. I took one of my bitches and placed her on my lap with head to my right side of my neck that way Dee could not recognize me. Then another bitch decided to noodle up to my other side and there I was being canoodling by two girls at the same time.

I glanced at Dee for a second and she rolled her eyes with discuss at the sight before her eyes and she made a nod to her what appears to her boyfriend or husband, another Mackley.

A few moments later I see her, he had his hand on her lower back ushering her inside then, taking her by the hand pulling her to where he met up with the others. Seems like she's having some fun, looking little relaxed, her son is here too. Great, just great he has seen me but did not say anything nor did he acknowledge me, thank GOD for that.
