"Today will be the last time I see him, today everything will end."
Thea Lark fixed her eyes at the tall building in the main street. Many people in office suits were walking out the glass door, and some others were entering with their professional attires and conceited looks. All of them seemed proud to be part of that company, and to be his employees, the great Dion Hesse employees.
"This is the last time," she whispered as she saw the entrance and the big name of Empire Corp right outside the main glass door.
A few months ago, she would be scared and hesitant to come and see that man. Now only a firm and resolute expression with nothing else to lose was reflected in her beautiful blue eyes.
This time she had come to end everything. She didn't care a damn about what that man would think of her and her family. Thea hadn't come to give a face to anyone anymore. Not even that man. She had enough.
She walked with steady steps, a straight back and with her simple and not that expensive clothes. The people passing by looked down at her, as she was wearing something ordinary and cheap for the high-class office.
That morning, she only wore a long black hoodie covering her head and hair and a pair of blue jeans with white sneakers. Simple and ordinary, but strange for the people in that street. She would be one of them some time ago, with their beautiful clothes, but now she couldn't care less.
Her long black hair hid part of her face, but the big shades hid the color of her eyes and half of the white and her pure as porcelain skin. The red color of her lips was the only brave enough to show off in front of that people.
Only a few steps more and she will be in front of that impressive entrance, however, she stopped and fixed her gaze at the top of the building.
'Will he let me in?' she thought and gulped, then a sudden ring from her phone woke her up.
"I am at the entrance, I will go inside now... I have the papers with me. Wait for me to return," she said in a low tone and hung up quickly, then again with her face turned to the entrance she nodded. 'It's time.'
Her shoulder carried a long black bag and her delicate hands held the handle with strength, almost twisting it. Inside was her future, her new step in life.
"This will be the end of this stupid farce," she muttered.
Her feet moved as her heart pounded with a strong beat.
She walked through the glass door, but she didn't approach the reception desk. Her eyes were fixed on the corner, where she just stood silently. She pressed a number she had memorized on her phone and waited.
The woman in the reception looked at her suspiciously, signaling the security guard to stay prepared if she were to make any trouble. However, Thea didn't move from her spot, the phone was on her ear, and every few seconds she typed the same numbers again.
The call didn't connect. She tried several times more before someone finally answered. Her heart pounded, and she bit her lips when hearing the breath of the other person on the phone. However, before he could say a word, she spoke quickly but clear without any hint of emotion.
"I am downstairs at your office building. Come and get me, or I will call grandpa and make a scene right here," she hung up and waited on the couch near the entrance. Her hands were on her knees while she was tapping with her feet on the floor. She counted the seconds that were already reaching a minute.
The guard and receptionist looked at her with caution, ready to approach and throw her out, but she didn't show any reaction.
"Miss..."
The receptionist was ready to go to her. The woman looked suspicious and many employees had seen her with weird looks. Then, as the guard was about to ask her to go out the building, the private CEO's elevator door opened. The sound was distinctive and many executives that were on the first floor turned to see the person.
A man with an expensive suit and black-rimmed glasses came out with sweat on his forehead. He was out of breath too.
"Miss... Miss Lark, CEO Hesse is waiting upstairs." Vin Lu, the Personal Assistant of Dion Hesse, bowed to the hooded woman on the couch. Even with the executives and directors who had been greeting him, he didn't care to even say a word to them. But the woman...
Thea stood up and followed the man, not minding the stunned faces of the receptionist and the guard. Not even the small talks behind her or the curious glances that had no more mocking in their eyes.
Assistant Vin led her to the lift, but didn't dare to say a word to her for the rest of the travel. Then the metal doors opened on the top floor.
Thea walked faster, the indiscreet glances of the employees and secretaries on her body were disturbing, but she didn't care.
Some gasps of surprise resounded when she was led directly into the CEO's office. Usually, no one was allowed inside, only about five close people were permitted, and now the unkempt woman was led inside.
"Who is she?"
"No idea, did you see her face?"
"I couldn't, that hoodie was covering it."
"She must be someone important for PA Lu to get her personally. She can even enter the CEO's office."
"Could she be a relative?"
"Maybe, I don't think she is our CEO's girlfriend."
"What? How can she? Look at her poor appearance, and also he was with Miss. Gray last time, didn't you hear? It was all on TV."
"Oh my! Really?!"
"Yes, it was a huge scandal, she might be our future Mrs. Hesse."
"But..."
"What?"
"I heard the CEO was married, isn't that true?"
"Shh... don't say it, we are not allowed to comment about that."
"But..."
The gossips in the office were frequent in Empire Corp, but the employees knew better to keep quiet on the important things, or they could stop thinking of working there for a long time.
Thea walked into the office, 'the same as always.' Thea thought.
The little but clean furniture of dark colors. The calm ambiance and the desk with only a computer and some files on it. Just the same as she remembered.
PA Lu closed the door quickly. After all, the CEO was about to explode in anger, and he didn't want to be there to be made a collateral of his ire.
"Who gave you permission to come here?" The voice came from the tall man watching the city view from the body-sized window. He looked majestic in his black suit that fitted perfectly on his muscular body. Thea looked at his back and bit her lips, then she breathed to calm the shiver on her hands.
"I came to deliver something. Please sign it for me to go quickly, I don't wish to be here either."
Thea didn't care about his rude tone and dangerous aura anymore. She had known him for so long to be used to his manners, though it was difficult to bear every time.
Then, without waiting for a response, she took out the papers from her bag and threw them onto his desk.
"... you don't demand me anything."
The man was containing his anger in his voice, but it was difficult not to notice. Then he turned around slowly, letting her see the most handsome face she had ever seen. Strong features, piercing gray eyes, and upturned nose. His tall and muscular body was a perfect fit in his black suit and even if he was angry, he had the kind of aura that could make any woman fall to her knees. She would be head over heels for him if she hadn't known him for so long.
"You don't have any right," he continued while glaring at her.
"Look at them, it is for your own benefit," she smirked and stood there without any expression. Now she didn't care about the man, as he had never cared about her before.
He took small steps towards the desk and read the documents, his eyes looked at them with interest, but hidden inside was much more anger than in the beginning.
"What is this?"
"Divorce papers..."
"Divorce papers. I already have the approval from the elders."
"You!"
"What about it, husband? Just sign it and this farce will end. As you can see, I won't get anything else from your wealth, only what you promised in the beginning. The contract is there too."
There was nothing in her voice and eyes but coldness and indifference. She had let go of her fear, even to the fury brewing in his eyes. She was already used to it. After all, from the beginning of their marriage, one year ago, he never cared to hide how much she despised her.
However, she tried to make it work, even for a little. She wanted to become friends with him, or at least treat each other with some respect and decency. It never worked. Now she was tired.
He kept looking at the document on the desk. Then he raised his head with a cold smirk written on his mouth. "So, this was your plan from the beginning. Scam money from me and my family and then disappear."
She fought her urge to roll her eyes at the handsome man. Grandpa Hesse was the one who insisted on them marrying, and she didn't have a choice. How did it come to her being the one forcing him?
She sighed and took out her hood and her shades, making her beautiful black hair cascade on her back, and revealing her gorgeous face. Her blue eyes looked at him without much emotion.
"I don't want to keep going with this farce. Please, sign it and let us end and forget this awful experience."
"... ha... do you think it will be this easy."
"I don't understand, what else do you want? I am not taking anything else from you. Only what you promised."
Thea was getting impatient. She had made many plans for later, and this man was making things more complicated.
"Alright, what do you want in exchange for signing those papers?" She conceded, her voice was cold but at the same time tired. However, that little sign of eagerness only made his fury grow even more.
"Are you that desperate?" he couldn't contain another mocking sound that almost revealed the intensity of his anger.
Thea didn't say anything, but her silence was making evident her answer. She wanted to get out of that office as soon as possible. Her arms were crossed, and his feet were tapping the floor.
"What do you want?" she retorted with an anxious voice.
"... you have nothing I desire. You are disgusting," the hatred in his cold eyes was more than apparent.
Thea gripped her hands into a fist, but she remained silent and calm, nor even a frown could be seen on her beautiful face. She would not give him the opportunity to humiliate her again, but now it was true that she needed his signature.
He took a pen from his desk and signed the papers quickly.
"Are you satisfied?"
Then he threw them to the floor. "Take them and leave now! Don't let me see your face again or else... you will know the consequences."
Thea bent down to get the papers as fast as she could and pack them inside her bag. She didn't want to be there anymore. It was only a waste of time. That man had already exhausted a year of her precious life, it was enough.
When she stood up, she didn't glance at the man for a second time. Her thoughts were on going out quickly, without looking back.
However, the moment her hand was about to open the door, a pair of arms blocked her from going out.
Her heart pounded, and her breath was difficult. She felt the warm coming from the back, making her bit her lips.
"What... what are you doing?"
Dion had approached her from behind with a sudden speed. He was trapping her between his body and the door, preventing her from moving an inch.
He didn't answer, but he didn't move his body.
"CEO Hesse, what do you want?! Let me out!"
He stood with his hands pressing the door, and her face touching her hair and the side of her neck. The heated air from his breath was making her anxious and weak. She struggled when some shivers ran down her spine.
She tried to open the door again, but he kept pressing her with much more force, almost pasting her to his body.
"Get away from me!"
He didn't answer again, but one of his hands lowered down to her waist, then with a slow move, he lifted her hoodie, letting him see the beginning of her jeans and her beautiful bottom.
"Hey!" she felt his hands moving inside her hoodie, but she couldn't fight him. That was the first time he touched her. "Wait..."
"I won't..." he whispered and took the hoodie from her body.
Underneath, she was wearing a very tight white top, fitting perfectly to her slim waist and her perfect front. Her naked shoulders and her collarbone was left exposed for his gaze.
"You!"
She regained her senses when the man pressed her to the door more. Her foot stepped on him, and she finally could turn around to fight him. However, her bold movement didn't have the effects she wanted, as he pushed her to the door again and grabbed her arms on top of her head.
Her body was a beautiful and sexy sight he fought hard to resist. Her cherry plump lips were so inviting and her deep angry eyes so alluring. He gulped.
"Didn't you want this?" he whispered when their faces were only an inch apart, "You were so eager to do this every day of our marriage, didn't you? Now, as this will be our last day together, I will concede your wish."
He moved his lips to her ear while circling her tiny waist with his strong arms. Her top was so fitted to her body that he couldn't help but gape at the gorgeous curves of her body. Her white collarbone was teasing his eyes, letting him see the beginning of her ample breasts. Her tight jeans were circling perfectly her perky butt, making him swallow and feel the heat growing on his pants.
He knew she was beautiful and many times he was about to let his desire take control over him but, in the end, his rationality stopped him.
"Mmm okay," she whispered making him surprised, "then let's do it," she said again without resisting his advances.
His hand slowly went down to her waist to her plump back, he squeezed her. However, her tone was hiding a mockery, as if daring him to continue.
"Why are you stopping?" she said while moving towards him.
Even after saying those words, her voice was devoid of any emotion. He looked at her unfeeling eyes and his mind almost exploded with ire. He grabbed her hand and pulled her to sit on top of his desk.
"You..."
He took her lips without waiting for another second, taking his time to explore her mouth with his misbehaving tongue. She tried to push him from her, but even when he could taste a few drops of blood, he didn't let her go. His hands were already lifting her top and opening her jeans.
"Stop it," she pushed him, but he grabbed her hard again, pressing her body against his chest. His lips couldn't control themselves anymore, she was making him forget himself when her moans crossed his ears.
'This tastes so damn good,' he felt as if losing his mind. Her soft lips and warm body were something he had imagined many times, so many times, almost every day for a year. Even if it was from afar, every time he saw her, it was torture to his mind and body.
"Mmmm"
Then his mouth left her lips when she was having a hard time breathing. Her beautiful cheeks looked so flustered while her chest was panting and her eyes were trying to regain focus. However, to his eyes, that view was almost crushing his temper.
He didn't want to do anything to her, just a bit of a scare to make her know she can't play games with him, but he was the one losing it completely.
"Thea..." he whispered. Then he lifted her top and dropped it to the floor.
The view was so amazing that he didn't know why he resisted before. He caressed her skin, reaching for the back of her bra. However, before he could take it any further, the door opened.
A young woman in an elegant white dress entered the office without knocking. To her side, an older woman was walking beside her, holding her arm.
"Dion!"
Thea looked at the two women with a smirk on her face. Then she pushed the stunned man to the side and took her clothes to dress quickly. It didn't take many minutes to put her white top and adjust her hoodie. However, the man wasn't making it easy for her to move around. His hot body was still in front of her. His breath was even moving quickly as if he was suppressing something.
The two women looked at her dressing as if nothing had happened. The ire in their eyes were about to burn her skin, but they controlled themselves.
"You continue," Thea gave them a mocking smile as she passed by their side. Then, after she took her bag from the entrance, she went outside quickly.
The man watched her with big eyes, he couldn't understand what just had happened. There was no time in his memory that he lost so much control over his instincts.
However, the moment she stood before him with those indifferent and cruel eyes showing that she didn't want him, he forgot his composure and reacted strongly. His only thought was that he didn't want to lose her, and if he let her take a step out of that office, she would be gone for sure.
Yet, he didn't understand why. He had been married to her for a year, and they hadn't seen each other. He thought that he had finally forgotten her, that she won't mean anything to him, but every time he stared at her, all his past composure went to hell, a strong emotion erupted from within him, something out of his control not letting him focus on anything.
Therefore, he decided to avoid her like a plague, to let her alone in the mansion like a beautiful flower waiting for him until he sorted out his mind.
He was afraid of what could happen to him, though, if he dared to let her enter his life.
Now that they were divorced, it would be for the best, he thought.
But seeing her march away after he signed, his heart pounded faster than ever and his feet were already behind her closing the door, impeding her from leaving.
'I must be crazy...' he passed his fingers on his hair.
"Dion, what is the meaning of this?!"
The old woman was his grandmother, Olivia Hesse, the dear grandma that had seen him grow up as a true mother, while his biological mother traveled the world as the best and most renowned actress of the country, not minding leaving her son alone.
"Nothing... what brings you here, grandma?" He tried to calm down, resisting the urge to follow the woman.
"How is this nothing... you were... and with that woman!"
The old madam had a powerful aura like his grandson with cold gray eyes and hair still brown and beautiful, she reflected the character of a truly strong woman. It could be seen that she was gorgeous in her youth, and the remains of her appearance were still there. She was praised as a very intelligent woman, and she knew from the beginning that her grandson despised the wife he was forced to wed. That's why she was so shocked, seeing the woman inside with him in that condition.
"There is nothing going on with her. Why are you here, grandma?"
He was getting impatient, the woman had left without turning back even in that situation. Right now, she was about to the Civil Office to leave the papers and proceed with the divorce. His mind was in chaos as he typed extremely quickly on his phone. 'I won't let you go, woman! You started it, now you finish it.'
His memories went to her beautiful face again, reminiscing her flushed cheeks and parted wet lips. He couldn't wait to taste them again and furthermore.
"You unfilial boy! Is this the way I educated you?"
The old woman was throwing a fit and pointing at him with her delicate finger.
"Grandma, please don't worry, this must be a misunderstanding, right? Dion?"
The delicate and fragile young woman in a white dress took Grandma Hesse's hands to comfort her, then she looked at Dion with her cute bright eyes, but they showed that she was clearly wronged.
"Oh dear Rose, please don't mind this awful boy." Grandma Hesse patted the back of Rose's hands with tenderness while giving her a small and comforting smile. He turned around, her head, to see the oblivious man looking at his phone intensely waiting for a response. "You! Unfilial boy! You dare ignore me?!"
His phone rang and the message he wanted to see came at that instant, however, his face turned gloomy instead of relieved. "Damn woman!"
He stood up, ignoring the two women in his office, and went out without sparing them a glance.
"Wait, Dion!"
Grandma Hesse watched as the man walked away, ignoring her. He had never behaved that way, she knew he had inherited the cold temperament from his grandpa, but he was always considerate around her. When he married the woman she knew he was even more angry than usual and for a year he kept ignoring her to the extent of leaving her alone in that enormous mansion. She was sure that he didn't like her, but now. "What is going on?"
"Grandma?"
"Eh? Oh, dear Rose, let's go to the old house. Don't worry, we will tell him the good news there."
"Yes, grandma."
Rose smiled and held the old woman's hand, but deep inside her eyes, a fit of hidden jealousy was exploding. She was sure that today was going to be the happiest day of her life. All her hard work was finally going to pay off, but she never expected to see that woman on top of his desk, almost naked.
'I won't let that woman take away what it's mine.'
She didn't let her emotions take over control of her face while she went out, instead, she acted as she was wronged and disappointed catching a woman trying to seduce her husband.
