His BabyGirl

Author: : Courtney Radford
Genre: Young Adult
Tyrell Winter is the bad boy of the school. Unlike any other cliche bad boy, he doesn't have random hookups. He respects most girls. Well, the girls that don't throw themselves on him, especially when he says no. Tyrell always has his guard up, that's what he had been told to do his whole life by his father. However, when the new girl, Charlotte Johnson, bumps into him, his guard is (unwillingly) let down. She belonged to him, whether she, or anyone else, liked it or not.

Chapter 1 New Girl

Tyrell:

I woke up to groaning.

"Ty. Up, now!" My father groans.

I roll my eyes, of course he would be telling me to wake up after he woke me up at 4 AM when he drunkenly walked in.

I get out of bed and have a quick shower before brushing my teeth and throwing on some black jeans and a hoodie.

I put on my black vans and grabbed my phone before walking down stairs.

"You're up!" My dad says and i hold back a reply that would get me punched.

I was too tired to defend myself.

He's been getting drunk every night for the past 4 years and hasn't been a father to me... at all.

"Yep" I reply, getting my keys off of the hook.

"Where do you think you are going?" He asked sternly making me roll my eyes.

'Why would you care' was at the tip of my tongue but I shook my head.

"School" I say bluntly before putting on a leather jacket.

"Why don't you stay home?" He asked as he walked closer to me.

"No" I say before stepping outside.

If rather be at a shitty school than here. This isn't even a home for me. A home is somewhere you are meant to be safe. It's somewhere you have a loving family and get give you warmth, food and water and clothes.

I give myself all of that because I have no family.

I looked at the time and realised I was already late but I didn't care.

I had to keep up my reputation anyway.

I went into my car and took the longest route to school. If I was late, I might as well be really really late because I'm still going to get the same amount of time in detention.

I parked my car and went to the reception.

"Name?" The receptionist asked politely but then looked up.

" oh it's you" she says rudely.

She hates me. I couldn't blame her though, almost everyone does.

"Aunt Lin" I say, my voice low.

"I'm no aunt of yours!" She says threateningly.

"Why? Because I put mum where she belongs?" I ask, a smirk forming although it hurt to admit it aloud.

"No wander why your dad used to beat you. I'd do the same of you were my child" she says, writing me out a detention slip to go with the other thousand.

Out of the corner of my eye, I see a figure approaching.

"Im glad I'm not your kid" I say bitterly and snatched the slip out of her hand.

I look to see the schools slut, Mandy, showing a girl around.

The girl was simply breath taking, and I knew she already made Mandy's enemy from the way Mandy was glaring in her direction every few seconds.

She had long, Brown curly hair cascading down her back and she was quite tall, but not taller than me. I was about 6"3 so she must have been about 5"7. Taller than most girls. She was quite tanned and definately had a good sense of style. She wore some denim blue ripped jeans with a white shirt that had a few cut outs at the bottom with a leather jacket and some small white heels. She had these bright green eyes. The most beautiful I had ever seen. She had high cheekbones and plump lips. She had a narrow waist yet all the right curves in the right places.

She was actually really gorgeous.

"And that's... Hey Tyrell!" Mandy called out, breaking my gaze from the gorgeous girl beside her.

"Hey Mandy" I say, wincing slightly at her voice.

The girl beside her did also and i saw her look at me before rolling her eyes.

Okay?

"How are you?" She asked, looking my up and down before twirling a piece of her brown hair around her finger.

"Fine" I say bluntly.

She is one of the many girls who don't understand when I say no. For that reason only, my respect I had for her, vanished.

"Mandy, as much as I'm loving this conversation. I need to get to class." The girl says sarcastically. She had a strong British accent.

"Shut up Charlotte!" She hissed and Charlotte glared at Mandy through her lashes.

"Then take me to my class!" Charlotte demands, her voice is angelic yet demanding and i could listen to it all day.

"No, I'm talking to my boyfriend!" Mandy yells.

"I'm not your boyfriend Mandy. Why do you not understand that I said no?" I ask before looking at Charlotte.

"Would you like me to take you to class?" I ask her.

Mandy had stormed off somewhere and i was still waiting for an answer.

"You're not expecting something in return are you? Like a date or a random hook up?" She asked and i laughed.

"Charlotte, right?" I ask, even though I knew her name. She nodded.

"Mandy is gone and i was just wandering if you need help to get to your class. You are obviously new so you probably don't know your way around" I say "and I don't expect anything in return" I say sinserly Because I really don't expect anything.

"Okay" she says with a small smile.

Stunning.

**

We walk down the coridoor after I discover that she has the same class as me.

"What's the teacher like?" She asked curiously and i shrug.

"She's okay. Never be late to her lessons unless you want a detention for a week" I advice.

"What if you are only one minute late?" She asked and i smiled.

"Detention for a week" I mimick her annoying voice and Charlotte burst out laughing.

Her laugh must have been contagious because soon enough I was laughing with her.

I've only met her 5 minutes ago and she has been the only person to make me laugh in 10 years.

"Here we are! Room 56." I smile and she returned it. I felt my heart skip a beat when she did and i knew it was because her smile is breath taking.

"Thank you" she grinned and i was pratically beaming when I opened the door.

"Tyrell! Why are you late?" The teacher snapped.

I was about to reply with a 'sorry' or something when a voice spoke.

"Im Sorry miss but it was my fault that Tyrell was late." She says making my jaw drop. " This is my first day here and the girl who was meant to show me around ditched me so Tyrell said he would show me to class because we had the same one." She adds making the teacher nod.

"Alright but don't be late next time!" She snaps and Charlotte nodded.

I go to sit down in my seat whilst Charlotte speaks to the teacher.

I could see all the girls either sending me "suggestive" looks of glaring at Charlotte. All the guys were glaring at me and hollering with their friends, talking about who is going to "bang the new chick first".

"Introduce yourself and we will get on with the lesson" the teacher says.

"Okay well, I'm Charlotte Johnson. I've just been transferred from Britain with my sister" she says making me confused.

What about her parents?

"Alright, well since you and Tyrell got to know each other, you may sit beside him" she says and Charlotte nods.

She makes her way back, smiling at a few people who were smiling at her before sitting next to me.

"Hey" I say when she is sat down.

"Hi" she grinned and i smiled.

"Are you okay?" I ask and she nodded.

"Yeah, are you?" She asked and i nodded.

"Yeah.." I trail off, wandering whether I should ask her about her parents.

"What is it?" She asked, as if knowing I wanted to ask her something.

"Its kind of personal" I say quietly.

"Its okay" she smiled reassuringly.

"You said you over with your sister... what about your parents?" I ask and she smiled at me but it seemed to be forced.

"They are dead to me" she says before opening her book and beginning to write down some notes.

"I'm sorry" I say and she looked up at me.

"It's okay. They aren't actually dead but they may as well be. It doesn't and wouldn't make a difference if they were" she says and I nod.

"I get what you mean" I say, referring to my parents.

She smiled at me before doing her work.

Chapter 2 Ted

Charlotte:

I carried on with my work, not bothering to look up at him. I don't want him to see how much they affect me. I don't want anyone to see how much they affect me.

"Char" Tyrell says, the nickname catching my by surprise.

"Yeah?" I ask, masking my hurt to make myself look happy.

When I first met Tyrell, I couldn't deny that he was gorgeous. But I've seen too many guys like him before. Guys that only use girls for one thing.

I felt him staring at me with his baby blue eyes. He had dark brown hair and sharp features. Anyone could see he was undeniably good looking.

"Do you want to sit with me at lunch?" He asked, his voice smooth and low.

"Sure" I say with a smile. "Thank you" I add and he smiled at me.

"What have you got fourth period?" He asked and i shrugged.

"I'm pretty sure I got ethics" I say, trying to remember the time table I memorised before Mandy showed me around.

"Okay, well I will meet you then" he grinned and i returned it.

Maybe I shouldn't have judged him too quickly, especially because he is the complete opposite of what I thought.

The lesson ends quickly and I make my way to Chemistry, my favourite lesson.

"Sorry" I smiled sheepishly as I ran into a guy.

"Its okay" he grinned at me. He had black hair and green eyes. He was cute but Tyrell was Better.

Wait... what am I saying?

"I've never seen you here before" he states and I nod.

"I'm new. Today's my first day" I say and he chuckled.

"Well good luck in advance. Some people in this school are... let's just say you might have to watch who you become close to" he says.

"What do you have?" He asked and I told him I had Chemistry.

"Same. I'll walk with you" he says and I nod.

"So who have I got to watch?" I ask curiously.

"I don't know if you heard of him but Tyrell Winters is the main guy you have to watch" he says, his eyes turning a shade darker.

"But I've been with him all morning. And he seems okay" I say and he shook his head.

"He just got you under his spell" he says and I shrug. He hasn't got me under any spell. He has been nice to me but I'm not going to leap into his arms.

"Want to have lunch with me?" He asked as we walked into class.

"I'm sorry but I've already said I would have lunch with Tyrell" I say and he rolled his eyes.

"Should've guessed" He muttered.

"Excuse me?" I ask and he shook his head.

"Never mind, come on" He says, grabbing my hand and taking me to a seat near the back. He told me his name was Ted.

Chemistry ended quickly, and before I knew it, it was time for ethics.

I zoned out for most of the lesson. I didn't want to have this class. At all.

I sit at the back and see a guy smiling at me.

He had sandy blond hair and bright blue eyes. He was actually really hot.

"Hey" he smiled and I returned it.

"Hi" I grin.

"How is your first day?" He asked, leaning back in his chair to get comfortable.

"Its been okay thanks" I smile before getting on with the lesson.

***

"Charlotte!" I hear Tyrell call me.

Everyone stopped and stared, their jaws touching the floor.

"Hey" I smile and he grinned, taking my hand and glaring at the people who began to point at us.

"Come on Char" he says, tugging me gently.

Tyrell and I walked down the hall, only the clicking of my heels to be heard.

***

"So I called it lizzy" he says making me burst out laughing.

"So wait, you got a lizard and called it lizzy when you were 5 and you still got it?" I ask, tears filling my eyes.

"Well it is in my little sisters room" he admits, small pink dots on his cheeks.

"Oh my god" I laugh "that's amazing" I say.

"Yeah, I gave it to her when I was 15" he says and I giggle.

"Oh wow" I laugh. "I got rid of my teddy bear at 13" I say, remembering how my sister told me I was too old for toys.

"Would it be a bad time to tell you that i think you are the most beautiful girl I've ever met" Tyrell asked, resting his head in his hand and looking at me.

I laughed a little, taking a sip of my coffee.

"Maybe" I admit.

"I mean we just met and--" I start but he cut me off.

"Charlotte" he chuckled. "I literally was just telling you that you are beautiful. I'm not asking you out" he says with a smile. I'm not positive but I'm sure he added a quiet "yet".

"I know but believe it or not I'm actually an awkward person" I say.

"No, you're confident, you seem confident" he says and I shrug.

"You can act that way" I say, smiling a little.

"Well you must be a pretty good Damn actor"

We finish out coffee before walking back to school.

"Ignore them all" he says, nodding his head at everyone staring.

"Hey, can I ask you something?" I ask remembering about Ted.

"Sure" he says "anything"

"So I was walking to chemistry and then this guy approached" I say.

"Okay" Tyrell says. "And you are telling me this, why exactly?" He asked, "not trying to be rude" he adds quickly.

"Because this guy said I should watch out for you" I say.

I watched as his eyes widened quickly before he nodded, as if to continue.

"His name is Ted" I say before I visibly see him tense.

"Ted?" He asked, his voice strained.

"Yeah" I say, "I'm sorry I shouldn't have asked" I say and he looked over and sent me a tight smile.

"No, it's okay. Um, he is just an ex friend. I'm not telling you he is right but he isn't wrong. I mean, I don't have the best reputation." He says "anyway, he and I aren't on the best terms ever since he took every single girl I talked to and told them some lies" he shrugs as it it was no big deal.

I could clearly see it was a big deal.

"Well, if it is any reassurance, I didn't particularly like him" I chuckle "he kept assuming that I just fall under boys spells" I shrug and he smiled.

"Anyway, let's stop speaking about him" he says.

"Lets talk about you" he grins, grabbing my hand and pulling me to my next class.

Chapter 3 Warning

Charlotte:

"What about me?" I ask as he sits down next to me.

"What do you want to do when you are older? What is your dream? What's your most embarrassing story? I don't know, just tell me about you" Tyrell grins and I chuckle.

"Okay, so when I'm older I don't really know what I want to do. I mean, I love writing but I also love photography and engineering. Its quite a big range of different jobs but I like lots of different things" I chuckle and he rolls his eyes.

"Of course. You are a complicated one" he says with a wink and I pout at him.

"Honestly, my dream changes. I mean, I've always wished for a family and a happy life but I mean getting someone who loves you for you is good too. I also would love for there to be no hate or was in the world. It would be amazing to set aside our differences and join as one big community who do not need to judge and would just support everyone for who they are and I'm sorry I'm rambling" I say, hiding my blush with my hair.

He smiled at me, a genuine smile and I couldn't help but to smile back.

"I asked you Char. I want to know you dreams and everything like that. It's so much better than a boring "hey how you doing" conversation" Ty says and I nod, agreeing with him.

"What's your most embarrassing story?" Tyrell asked and I thought about it. Tyrell had told me a lot about him, including that his little sister lives with his aunt who is actually the receptionist here.

"There is nothing that embarrassing to be honest. The worst I've done is almost fall down the stairs at my party but that's all I can think of" I say and Tyrell raised his brows.

It looked kind of cute.

"Really? There has got to be one embarrassing thing that's happened to you" he says and I shrug.

"I wouldn't know. My parents could have but whatever" I say and he smiled at me.

"So, why did you get assigned for Mandy to walk you around?" He asked, leaning in the table and resting his head in his hands.

"Apparently she is "head girl" or something. I don't really know what head girl is" I say and he chuckled.

"Mandy basically got voted as the best person to help control the school" he says.

"Speaking of Mandy. What is your deal with her. She kept glaring at me for speaking to you" I explain and he sighed.

"She doesn't understand that no means no" he grumbles and my respect for the guy Increased.

He didn't sleep with a girl who has been trying to get him into bed which means he probably wasn't a man whore.

"I don't think she likes me very much" I say honestly. There has been nothing but constant glaring and shoves. She is lucky I actually care about my education because if I saw her out side of school I wouldn't hesitate to hit her.

"She doesn't like anyone I talk to" He says and I laugh, "no, I'm being serious. If you came to this school and didn't speak to me she probably wouldn't have a problem with you" He says and I smirk.

"So It's all your fault?" I ask with a small laugh.

"Wht? No, okay yeah, it's my fault" He sighs in defeat and I burst out laughing.

"Charlotte and Tyrell. Would you please step outside. You're disrupting the learning of other students" the teacher calls. I was currently in history, Ty and I were sat at the back in our own world.

I get up, making sure not to look embarrassed (even though I was), grabbing my bag and standing outside.

I don't like history. I don't get, I would much prefer to study geography and know how the world works and explore and know all the places.

"Are you mad? I mean, it's your first day and I pretty much got you kicked out of class" Tyrell says and I shook my head.

"Not at all. It wasn't your fault, sure you may have asked but I decided to answer therefore it wasn't your fault" I explain and he smiled.

The teacher comes outside the classroom.

"Tyrell, as you were gossiping and starting the conversation I would like you to go back in and receive your punishment after Charlotte received hers" the teacher says.

"To be fair madam, I was the one who was speaking a lot and keeping the conversation flowing so I think I should be the one who is punished" I say. Tyrell sends me a 'are you crazy' look but Tyrell hardly said anything.

"Very well, you may return to class" she says to him. Tyrell is about to protest but I shook my head as an indication of not to because I knew what would Happen.

As it was my first day, they will let me off with a warning. The most would be to make me move seats with the whole class watching.

"Charlotte, I understand that this is your first day and that you have no one so you are trying to make friends but I'll appreciate if you didn't distract other students. I don't want you to be causing hassle for other students to learn as your last head master said you were usually very well behaved until some other things began to happen at home" she says softly. So softly that I knew what has happened. She had read my report from my last school.

That made me angry. Sure, I was a trouble maker but that wasn't why I was here. I was here for a fresh start. I didn't want anything to remind me of the past. I didn't want anything to remind me of the pain I was in every single day.

"Charlotte, you are only 17. I know sometimes how it can be, I went through a similar situation to you but don't bottle it up. My door is always open of you need to talk" she says softly.

Knowing she went through anything similar to what I did, my guard immediately went down and I sighed, my shoulders relaxing.

"Thank you Miss. I just want to forget about it" I say honestly, my voice was quiet and she nodded.

"I know but it's hard to pretend and act like everything is okay when it isn't. If you need to talk about anything, you can talk about it to me" she says and i smile.

"Thank you" I say and she smiled, opening the door before turning to me.

"If you need a minute or two then you may have it. Make sure you come back in after" she says and I shake my head.

"I'll be fine to go in now" I say and she smiled before walking back in.

I go back to my seat, sitting next to Tyrell.

"Why did you take the blame?" He asked and I just smiled.

"Because what I said was true" I honestly answer.

"What was your punishment?" He asked and I shrugged.

"Nothing. I'm new so I got a warning." I say before we both decide to do our work.
