Water dripped down my hair to my wet skin, I wrapped a towel on my body and came out of the bathroom, opening the bathroom door into my small room, my aunt's voice came up.

"Alexa, get your lazy ass up" aunt shouted from the kitchen.

"I'm up already, I will be down in a minute" I shouted moving to my bed, I picked up my purple oversized top and a baggy fading jean I planned to wear today.

I dressed up and made my way to the kitchen, I met my aunt or should I say mum in the kitchen, I smiled and hugged her from behind.

"Good morning aunt" I greeted still hugging her and inhaling her saint which smells like a rose flower. I really hate floral saints but I don't know why I love hers, I guess I'm addicted.

"Good morning sweetie, Hope you slept well?" aunt asked serving pancakes she made into two plates.

"It was fine aunt, how about yours aunt?" I went to her side and took the tray from her heading to our very small dining table.

"I slept well honey, and I hope you didn't cause any trouble yesterday?" my aunt said, giving me a look that says I know you too well. "I did not cause any trouble aunt, I told you I am a changed person already" I said, blinking my eye lashes rapidly so she'll fall for it.

"Hmmmm.......I guess I have to trust your words, so you're done with your high school for a while, which college do you want to go?" aunt said with her voice obviously shaking, I know she is trying her possible best being a mother for me but deep down in her and me too, I know she can't afford sending me to a college now.

"Aunt I don't wanna, Ermmm...... I mean I don't want to go to college for now" I said giving her a smile that says everything is okay, which is totally not.

"Alexa.... (She called gently) I know how much you love studying, I know how much you want to go to a college, what happened?" she asked with concern evident in her voice.

"Mum...(She looked at me shocked and I chuckled) Yeah mum, you have been performing this role in my life for a long time, mum I want to work for a while and support, I will still go to college but let me help you" she looked at me tearily, I picked her right hand and rubbed it softly, I cleaned her face that tears were dropping on and she smacked me lightly.

" You got me emotional, it's okay, I can do this alone, okay? You don't have to work dear" she said calmly, I Smiled looking out the window and I quickly turned to my aunt.

"Aunt I sent applications to some places already, I'll come to shop after I go to those places, have fun aunt" I rushed my words, pecked her cheeks and I rushed to the back doorway.

"You did even eat your pancakes" I heard her yell.

"And where the fuck is that dog you call a daughter?" I heard our crazy neighbor yelled, sorry aunt you have to take care of this too, I took my bicycle and sat on it Phew, oops....I haven't done a proper introduction, well my name is Alexa Roberts, I am eighteen years old and I'm done with my high school, my aunt? Oh yeah, she is my everything, parent, best friend and my world. My parents died when I was 8 in a car accident and she has been taking care of me since then.

I was once a quiet, shy, nerdy girl, but, my life changed drastically when I started having crush on a playboy and a bully from my class then, he was really handsome that every girl wanted him not excluding me, he was twenty one then, you think he's too old for high school, you really won't know because he looks pretty young, his dad owns the school and he was forced there because he doesn't want to go to any school, weird right? I feel it's weird too and I heard he has a cute brother too. I tried so hard for him to notice me and of course he did, we even dated but little did I know that he placed a bet on me, I caught him the same day I thought of giving him my virginity, well I guess I was lucky. Oh shit, my pedal is not working, oh my is this how I'm gonna die, oh my......

I stood up and dusted my clothes, must be wondering what happened? Well I crashed into one of the traffic lights and luckily no one is here, I picked my bicycle and ran out of the place Moving from one street to the other, I later found a local restaurant, my stomach growled and I entered the restaurant and sat down, a woman that is probably in her mid forties came to me.

"What can I offer you young lady?" I guess she owns the restaurant, maybe I can talk to her if she lets me work for her.

"Young lady?" she called again.

"Ohh sorry ma'am, how much is your hamburger?"

"5$ young lady"

"Okay ma'am, one is okay" I said and she looked at me from head to toes irritably before leaving.

Wow! I don't think I can work with someone like her.

She brought my burger and dropped it on the table, she stretched her hand forward.

"Money" she said frowning, what the heck is wrong with her, I brought money and paid her, I digged in and ate my burger, I saw a leftover juice on a table beside me, I picked and drank it, I belched loudly, few people around looked at me weirdly and I gave them a soft smile. Well I think it's time to look for a job now, back to our sweet normal girl Lexa.

ALEXA'S POV

I hissed loudly stomping out of their disgusting restaurant, imagine the stupid manager asking for my body before giving me a job, like what the fuck!.

My day was going pretty bad already and a fool bumped into me and his phone fell, good for him and I walked past him, the next thing he said made me look back.

"Are you fucking blind?" he said quietly but loud enough for me to hear, I turned back and I stood gobsmacked, I am fucking seeing a demigod, this guy must be God's favorite, he looks so handsome, his body is .........

"Can't you hear me you ugly thing?" his voice brought me back.

"W..what? repeat that" I stuttered trying to get myself together.

"Are you this dumb? You fucking bumped into me and my phone fell, you couldn't even pick it up and apologize for your clumsiness" he barked angrily.

"Hey look here fool, you bumped into me and you expect me to say sorry and pick your phone up? you must be crazy" I hissed and made to walk past him but he held me and I stiffed for a moment.

"Do you how much this phone cost? It can buy your entire generation" he said calmly this time

"You must be a fool for saying that, do you know who is standing in front of you?" I shouted at him and he laughed sarcastically, I feel like a fool right now.

"W..wait, you said what now, I don't know you, I don't care to know you, you are too wretched for me to know, you look poorly fed, if you need some cash just beg for it beggar" I don't know what was going on my head but all I know is that I feel like killing him.

"You know what, go home and tell your mother to teach you some manners" with that I kicked his forbidden zone and dashed out the place.

I have never felt so insulted in my life, I will definitely get my revenge when next I see him.

NICKLAUS POV

Mark the devil that brought me here started approaching smiling widely, I feel like cutting his head off right now.

"What's up bro, I saw you chatting with a girl, did you collect her number" he said grinning like a fool and I scoffed loudly.

"Whose number? That poor church rat? You must be joking, she fucking disrespected me" I growled lowly at him.

"Oops chill bro, that must have went bad" he said and bursted out laughing, I don't know what to do with this guy, you must be wondering who he is, well the dickhead is my best friend, we've been close friends since we were kids, his dad is my dad's best friend too....... and the idiot finally stopped laughing.

"The girls looks hot though" he said blinking rapidly.

"Remind me why we are here bro, I told you I was hungry" I said loooking at him with a deep frown.

"Be calm bro, they got the best foods here, come on bro you gotta try it" he said moving to a table.

"Why do you like places like this? there are great restaurants out there for people like us" I tried persuading him but.........

"Two chicken wings pls" the idiot already ordered.......... wtf!" I have a coffee shop I'll take you to in the evening, you need to exploit outside world a bit bro" he said and I quietly took my phone.

Today was hectic and I still can't get over the psycho girl I met, and of course Mark took me to the coffee shop, it's a local shop but their coffee taste great........ my phone begin to ring

"Oh no, not dad" I muttered under my breath before picking up.

Okay dad, I'll be there in a few Will be expecting you son" with that he hanged up I wonder why he seems so desperate about me coming home, seems I'll be visiting them today.

We all sat at the dining table, when I say we I mean me, dad, mom, my stepbrother and a gorgeous lady, she looks familiar but I can't tell where I've met or seen her before..........huhhhhhh my dad's voice brought me out of trance I'm in.

"Ermmm... Nicklaus, I guess it's been quite sometime now, I don't think you remember the gorgeous lady sitting across you"

"Nick doesn't know any gorgeous lady, he knows only ugly girls, he definitely doesn't know the goddess sitting, can I know your name pretty?"

I laughed inwardly, that is my stepbrother Dave and that's how he does when he sees a pretty lady, we are really cool despite the fact that our moms are different.......

"But she used to be close friends with Nicky so I guess he knows her" mom's tiny voice came up, I guess another argument is about to happen, mom and Dave who is my stepbrother do not get along at all.

"Pls guys, it's not time for this, Nick this is Melia Greg's daughter, do you remember her?" I guess my dad also understands what's going on, and I finally remember her, she was my best friend then and I had a crush on her but we were kids then.

"Do you remember her?" Dad asked again. "Yeah dad" I stood up, she did the same thing too and we hugged.

"It's been a long time Melia, how have you been?" I asked with excitement, great to see an old friend.

"I'm glad you remember me Nicky, i feared you would have forgotten me, all memories we shared together" she said about to cry, I guess it's overwhelming for her too.

"Wow, what a beautiful reunion, Hi Melia, I'm Nicky's bro" Dave quickly introduce himself, Dave continued to crack boring jokes throughout the night and dad later excused me out to his home office.

I sat down facing dad as he went through files on his table, it's been over forty minutes, I thought he wanted to discuss something important with me.

"Dad, I....... just a minute son" with that he took his eyes back to his files and looked through them for some minutes before coming to sit opposite me.

"Son, you know how my health has been detoriating these days and you know the state the company is, I have tested both you and your brother and I realized that you are the one that is for to be the CEO of the company, old age is taking it course on me, I hope you can do this for me son" dad said looking at me expectantly and I was looking at him totally gobsmacked.

"D...dad, I don't think I can take this, I have my own company and you know that, I don't want to compete with my brother over anything, he can handle the company pretty well more than I can do, da......"

"Nick, we all know how your brother does, he is not someone that can be taken lightly to handle a company, pls son, consider my request help me save that company, help me save it from foes who is bent on bringing it down, pls son" dad said soberly

"Dad, we can't overlook the fact that Dave is the rightful inheritor of the company, he is your first child, his right should not be affected by your own mistake, him being the illegitimate son sh..........."

I was interrupted by a sudden clap from the door, I looked back and my eyes met with Dave's eyes.

"Waowwww, I didn't know a family meeting is going on here, anyways the first but the illegitimate child of the Knights is here (he took a sit) So the meeting can continue" he grinned, should I say evil grin because it looks like one, dad took a long deep breath "Dave..........

NICKLAUS POV

"For you to take over the company, you need to get yourself a girlfriend, which is why I brought Amelia, you both loved each other when you were kids, I don't know of know that you are matured but you guys can try if you two can work out" dad said and I smiled lightly.

"Dad, I and Melia were just kids then, it's just a silly childhood crush and then, Melia is a gorgeous young lady so I don't expect her not to have a boyfriend dad" I said calmly and dad looked at me, I know that look, he definitely has something under his sleeves.

"Luckily son she is still single which means she's open for any relationship" he said with the look of determination that he's gonna answer any question I ask him.

"Okay dad but we have been away from each other from a long time and I don't have any feelings for her, we can still be friends though" I said emphasizing the word friends.

"I hope you make the right decision son and when are you gonna get yourself a girlfriend" he said calmly this time.

"I'll definitely get myself a girlfriend soon........ and I remember we were three then, what about Ana dad?"

I asked looking at dad expectantly, I perfectly remember everything now, Ana was the youngest among us then and she has the sharpest mouth too, she suddenly disappeared with her mom, only God knows how she is doing now.

I never wanted to be the CEO too but it's totally unfair not to seek my opinion sometimes too dad, it's bad" he curled his right hand into a fist with all his muscles popping out, I guess he is trying so hard not to lash out on Dad and probably me, he went out and slammed the door loudly, dad heaves a deep breath.

"Are you okay dad?" I asked because he looks a bit shaken.

"I'm okay Nick, can you pls help me talk to your brother? He got it all wrong" he said with a pleading face.

"Where did he get it wrong? Dad you have always been unfair to him and I've been telling you, he is human too and he deserves to be loved, it's your mistake for having extramarital affair, but he is not a mistake, he is your son, your first child and you have to treat him like one, he obviously hates me too now" I said in one breath and made to stand.

"I'm sorry, I will try to make amends" he said quietly.

"You should him sorry not me dad, good night" I stood up and walked to the door, without looking back.

"Don't try dad, make amends" with that i walked out of the door and closed it gently. Getting to the sitting room, I met mom and Melia talking, I went to my mom's side and kissed her cheeks.

"I will be going home now mom" I said and stood up but mom held me back.

"Nicky, Melia's driver left already, can you help drop her at home?" I perfectly understand what mom is tryna do, I'll just let it slide.

"Sure mom, let's go Melia" she stood up and we both bade mom goodbye.

I waved Melia goodbye and ignited the car, we talked a lot and I got to know more about her present life, I can't believe she turned down her dad's offer of becoming the CEO of her dad's company, I wish I can do the same but no, I have to help rebuild my dad's company, I didn't know she is even the super hot model in the mouth of people, she is really doing well for herself, dad may be right, probably a relationship can work out. I pulled over at the garage in my house and i alighted from the car, today was fucking tiring.

I looked at mark as he laughed like a fool he is. "Are you done laughing?" I asked murdering him with my eyes.

"I'm not done, let me laugh a little more bro" he said and continued laughing hard holding his stomach.

"So you had to call him big bro before he forgave you?" He said and started laughing all over again.

"CAN YOU FUCKING STOP THIS MADNESS MARK?" I roared and I guessed that calmed him a little bit, he looks serious now.

"So you will be managing company for now, you will be in charge of everything and I trust you would not disappoint and I need you to get someone that can fill in the post of a personal assistant as soon as possible" I said in a very calm tone but authoritatively, he easily take things for a joke, I don't know what kind of brain he has.

"Yes boss, I will try to look for one as soon as I can boss" he said smartly.

"And make sure he or she knows where you get my morning coffee for me" I added.

"Understand boss" the moment he said that, my phone rang,I smiled reaching for my phone, I waved my hand and dismissed him.

"Hello Lia

"Hi Nicky, your secretary is not letting me in, she claims I don't have an appointment with you"

"That's how we do here, give your phone to her, let me talk to her (there was a little shuffling at the background)

"Hello boss" "Secretary Kim, let her in" "Okay sir" "Is that enough prove?" I heard Melia asking.

"I'm sorry ma"

"Hey Nicky" I heard and looked up

"What's up Lia" I stood up and we both hugged "I'm good" she said and dropped a basket on my table and I stared at her awkwardly.

"Well... I guess you didn't eat when coming to work so I brought you food" she said and smiled widely.

"Oh wow, thanks" I said and she brought out dishes from the basket with different foods

"Enjoy!"She said

"I can enjoy this feast alone, come let's enjoy together" I said and we both laughed lightly We ate together and had fun throughout the day.
