Luna is excited about her entry as a first-year senior high. New school, a new association, and above all, her new beautiful uniform that she had been saving for a few years so that she could buy at their school. Because she knows her parents don't have money and she is ashamed to ask her aunt who is sending her to study on a well-known campus.
LUNA
I'm Luna Winter Yton, I'm seventeen years old and I'm from the province of Puerto Princesa Palawan. My aunt took me to the province when I entered high school. Because my mother and aunt had talked about something before that I will go to high school here. And of course, my aunt will send me to senior high school when I graduate, which my parents agreed to.
I have brothers and they are all boys. I'm the youngest of four and my older brothers only finished high school and they already help our father with his work. My oldest brother got married early and has a child now. And I heard that my second older brother will be married too.
Fortunately, I have a kind and capable aunt who is my mother's sister. Because I was intelligent, my aunt regretted stopping me when I graduated from high school like what happened to my siblings. At that time Aunt Alisha was on vacation and she found out about my problem.
That's why I was so happy when my aunt said that she would help me.
Of course, also because I was a little shy, I thought of working as a waitress in a small restaurant so that I wouldn't have to pay all my schooling expenses. Because my aunt's daughter is also studying. Auntie is happy with me because of the diligence I have shown. And now that I am in senior high I will improve my studies even more for my college. I will do everything for me to my family.
"Ate Luna, Mom called you, breakfast is ready," said my cousin Elise, Aunt Alisha's only child. She is now in her 3rd I year of high school. "Wow! Ate Luna, your uniform is beautiful. It suits you," Elise said, looking at me from head to toe.
"Only a uniform looks good on me?" I asked her with a mixture of sulking and annoyance.
Elise suddenly looked at my face and seemed to be thinking.
I'm still more beautiful than you," she said with a smile and quickly left because she immediately knew what I was going to do to her.
Elise was staring down the stairs because I chased her suddenly with a tickle and we stopped at the same time because my aunt was already standing at the bottom of the stairs with a frown. I hugged Ellise's back.
"Mama u seem hot-headed," I whispered to her as she rimmediately elbowed me.
"Ellise, I told you to call your sister Luna but here you are tickeling each other. What time is it, you two will be late!" angry words of my aunt Alisha.
"Mama, what time is it? You seem to be the most exited since we entered," Elise said to her mother with wide eyes.
Suddenly the mother hit her on the arm. "And you're still answering," said the aunt.
I smiled because Ellise saying the truth. It was still early and far from happening that they would both be late on their first day of school.
I carry my COM where my section is located and which building a am going to. And I'm lost on my way there. Because the campus is so big and spacious I don't know where to go. There are many students here at the campus busy doing something. And after all they are gathered together.
Here I am, standing in the middle and just observing the surroundings of the school and campus. "Where can I go?" I'm Lost and my mind is unsettled .
"Hey, you! Let us pass," a voice that surprised me. I quickly turned around to see who had that big voice.
A tall man was looking straight at me. His face was serious.
"Will you just staring at me only?" this word again. I was a little surprised because his voice was full manly.
I suddenly shook my head to realize. Because his beautiful voice is magnetic.
"The path is wide and you can take a detour here on my side." At the same time I pointed to my side that the path was open.
I saw his eyebrows meeting for what I said and his eyes suddenly narrowed.
"Did I say something wrong?" I asked him who narrowed his eyes at me.
"Hey! Don't you recognize him?" said the woman next to him who poked me on the shoulder.
"I'm sorry, but I don't know him. I'm just a new student here and in fact I don't know where I'm going," I explained to her truthfully.
The man In front of me just took a deep breath and then he passed where I was standing. Before the woman next to her passed who barely bumped into me, she signaled that I will watch you, with her two fingers she pointed to her eyes and then pointed to me. I imitated what the girl did and the students watching us laughed.
"Miss, you're funny. You even imitated Jenny in what she did to you." Words of a student who approached me.
"Which one? Is it like this?" and I repeated that and she nodded. "Eh, she told me she would watch over me or she would watch my behavior. That's why I told her the same," my direct words made the girl smile.
"Aren't you afraid of her?" this word again.
"No. Why should I be afraid?" I answered this while looking around to see that some people were staring at me.
"Are you new here?" said the person in front of me, staring at me from head to toe.
"Yes, I'm in Grade 11. I am from Alyshano High School. There is also a senior high there but. I like to enroll here as a senior until college. Well, I passed the entrance exam that's why I'm here now," I happily explained to the woman smiling at me.
"I'm Catherine, I'm your senior. How about you? Are you?" she asked me while raising her right hand.
"Im Luna Yton. Luna which means moon, nice to meet you, Catherine." We shook hands together
" Where are you going? What building are you in?" now, she peered at the paper I was holding.
"I don't even know where I'm going, eh? Can you help me? The campus area and the size are very spacious that's hard to find where I will start.
Catherine immediately looked at the paper I was holding and smiled at her. "Come, I will accompany you. We are going to the same building. You're in A, I'm in B, but we're just one way."
"Is that so?" I said with a smile on my face. "I'm glad I met you," I said happily.
Together they headed towards her building. They're just on the right and will pass a bridge that connects to the building we came from.
Catherine pointed out that I can also go through the other side to enter their building. It is said that all buildings have a proper entrance. They said it was only connected by bridges like the ones they passed. And the main point of that building is where I came from.
It Is also tiring before reaching the campus building. You still have a long way to go and you still have stairs to climb. The college building is on the right and their building is on the left.
"This is the way to your section. You can easily see your room," said Catherine.
"Hey, how about you?" I said to her
She pointed her face to the other hallway, "Oh, how about we meet during our break. Our canteen is also here in the building on the lower side. It's easy to see," she said while saying goodbye to me.
I didn't have a hard time finding my room and I didn't have a hard time making friends because my two high school classmates enrolled in that same campus.
Lindsay and Urica were the two quiet ones in their room when we were in high school that I wasn't close to but they talked to me. That's why they were with me for the whole day.
We were in the hallway and sat while the three of us waited for the time of our last subject. Because we have an hour free before our last subject. That's why we thought to sit on a long bench on the side of the hallway.
We weren't the only ones there, there were also many students hanging out and talking to each other.
"Did you know we avoided you before?" Urica's open topic. "Because you're sloppy and like a gang."
"Ha? Me? That's how you think of me," I can't believe I'm going to hear that from Urica.
The two nodded. "You're always fighting with boys and then you're too serious about what you're doing. We can't get close to you," Lindsay said.
"I was like that to you before? And for ten months in the 4th year you didn't change your opinion of me?" I said that I had to deal with both of them.
"I'm sorry, because you used to be really hard to approach, especially since you're our president. We're afraid that you'll scold like the men you scolded." Urica said.
I was amazed at what I heard. I didn't think they were afraid of me and didn't hate them. During her few years in high school, I thought my classmates hated me because I was always top 1 in school. And I'm a favorite of all my teachers. That I always mentioned my name to them. That's why they stay away from me when I want to know something and just avoided me because of my scary aura. That I'm like a gang, especially since I'm fighting against boys who are stubborn and don't follow the school's rules. That's why I didn't have many friends when I was in high school.
"The whole time I thought you were so avoided at me was because you were jealous because I was always top 1 in school and always topped the exam. I thought you were angry because I was smart then-" I couldn't finish my words because I suddenly felt sad as far as I know.
"We're not mad at you. Only a few of us came closer to you because you're always angry. Because you seem to want perfect words, especially in our group activity." Lindsay still held her hand.
"We were surprised that you suddenly greeted us earlier and talked to us, we changed because you didn't do that before," added Urica.
"I didn't talk before because I thought you were angry because of my status at school and the teachers. I thought you were talking bad about me. That's why I better keep quiet even though I don't have any friends." I explain them.
"We're talking about you, that's because we think you're selfish. That you don't know how to get along with people like us, that you're afraid to speak. I'm sorry, we were very judgmental back then. I'm sorry if that's what we showed yours before," said Urica while patting my shoulder.
"I'm sorry for my behavior before," I said to them with sadness in my eyes.
"That's gone, the important thing is that we're all okay. That we're friends," Lindsay said with a smile.
I felt relieved when I heard that they were okay with me. That they will start a new friendship and class together.
They were talking happily when Urica stopped her speech.
"Lindsay, there he is-" Urica patted Lindsay and I immediately searched for what she was saying. I frowned wondering who it was referring to. The man with the full voice she encountered this morning. Next to it was the smiling woman who bumped into her. She noticed that the other female students were very relieved when they saw the boy.
"Why? What is wrong with the man you are mentioning Urica?" I asked curiously.
"Don't you know? That he is the reason why Lindsay and I enrolled here. It is known here on our campus. He is very handsome in person. Not only in the magazine but even more handsome up close." Urica is thrilled. "It's very popular here on campus, there are a lot of girls who like him, it's just that-" she stopped looking at me.
"He was called a sociopath," Lindsay interjected.
"Sociopath? Why?" their conversation suddenly stopped when he passed in front of them. The man that Urica and Lindsay were talking to looked at her for a moment and then turned his eyes to the path they were walking.
I winced suddenly because I thought who was this king who passed by and that the world I was living in had to stop.
How is it that all the women are staring at it and amazed?
Even her two classmates were still gaping.
She suddenly clapped her hand to interrupt their daydream.
"What are you doing? You're surprised," Urica said, facing her.
"Because you're all salivating. You're more than awestruck by those who pass by, it's not enough to worship all of you," I said as I looked after the man who passed by with that Jenny.
"Don't tell me you're not in love with Lucas?" Lindsay is next to me.
"He's handsome, yes. But to drool over him like you all-hello? I'm not like that. Especially since you said he's a sociopath." I said as I fixed my things.
"Where are you going?" Lindsay asked me who suddenly fixed her bag.
"First I'll buy something to drink at the canteen, will you come with me?" I asked them but suddenly returned to their seats.
"We'll just stay here, maybe Lucas will come back." Their smiles are ear-to-ear.
"I don't know what the hell happened to youu guys," I turned my back on them and just shrugged.
I was busy on my phone scrolling through our social media and I didn't notice that I suddenly bump.
"Sorry, I'm really sorry I didn't see it. I'm really sorry," I said after a while, still bowing. I can only see shoes because I'm bent over. "I'm really sorry, I didn't mean it," I apologized again.
When I looked up I was surprised to see who was standing in front of me. His forehead was furrowed and he looked at me intently. It has no one but him.
He suddenly raised his hand and pointed to my forehead, which I followed with my gaze that almost made me nod. But I was just surprised because he suddenly pushed my forehead with his pointed finger.
"Get out of my way," he said sternly while pointed her without any reaction on his face.
I looked closely at the man in front of me while holding my forehead that he pushed with his pointed finger. I was not moved by what face it had.
"If you are angry about what happened, don't do to me what you did earlier," I said angrily.
"Then, get out of my sight," he said again firmly.
"Here oh, the path is wide. You can go through here," I replied firmly as I pointed to the path to my left which was really wide.
"Next time you watch where you're walking so you don't bump into people. So get out of my sight!" This word is so angry with me that I raised an eyebrow.
"Oh, I'm sorry. As far as I know, I've already apologized for what happened. So don't make me look like I have to follow you just like that," I said boldly.
Almost our eyes are fighting to stare. He who closes his eyes loses!
He suddenly waved at me so that he could pass, causing the passing student to look at me.
I held back my anger to retaliate against that bastard. Lindsay was right when they said that this sociopath is sick and add the psychopath too!
"Crazy head!" my mind said.
"What?! You bumped into Lucas?" Urica asked me in shock when the three of us were in the canteen.
I nodded and repeated what had happened.
"What are you? Why did you bring your courage here? Don't you know that he is the son of the Chairman of our campus. And one of his parents' ancestors is the founder of the campus." Urica almost whispered this explanation.
"Why? What did I do? I bumped into him and I apologized. Then he pushed me in the forehead just like that. Then what did he do to me? Did he apologize? He also push me," I stuttered as I cut the pork that was our dish.
"Hey, Luna! Be careful because we don't know what will happen when you fight Lucas," Urica said weakly to her.
I stabbed the pork when I noticed the group of girls were doing to a student who was crouching behind Urica. They laugh at the bowed woman. Mu eyebrows met as they poured milk over the student food.
My palm was clenched and I was about to stand up when Lindsay stopped me.
"Don't mess with them. Don't bring the bullying you did at our old school here on campus. It's different there, it's different here. Their parents are influential people," said Lindsay, who was also looking at those groups. .
I bit my lip because I wanted to help the poor student but I couldn't do anything because I was new on campus. And maybe what they will do to me especially since their parents are influential.
I just stared blindly and silently ate that even though I was having trouble swallowing, I still forced myself to swallow.
I've been in for a month now and I've seen all the happenings in our building. Abusive groups of senior women to those like us below them. I don't know what they are behind to be bullied by those groups. All i knew was that the victim was a girl and in grade 11 like me. All of that was blinded by me and I didn't know as my two friends told me. I ignored the woman asking me for help. That the truth is that my heart is hurt by my turning away from it.
"What happened to you Lindsay? Why do you have a wound on your lip?" I was worried when I saw the look of my friend when he entered the room.
For a few days now, I has noticed that Lindsay is quiet and doesn't talk to Urica anymore, which surprised them both. And now they immediately noticed the wound on the side of his lip. It was still fresh and i guessed it happened before she entered.
"Lindsay?" At the same time, I held her shoulder, which quickly shook her, surprising Urica and me. "What is happening to you? Why don't you tell us so we can help you" I said as I still faced the girl.
"It's nothing, don't worry about me. My sister and I just had a fight so she slapped me. But I'm fine," she replied weakly while avoiding Urica and me.
"Alright, we'll leave you alone now. When you're in a good mood, Urica and I will be here," I patted her shoulder as she slumped down. I signaled to Urica that we should leave Lindsay alone, who immediately understood what I meant.
"Lindsay doesn't have a sister, Luna." I suddenly turned to Urica when she told me this. "Believe me, she once took me to their house and she is the only child," she added.
"Maybe his cousin is older than him," I said. "That she had a fight," I added based on what I thought maybe.
"Impossible? I have a strange feeling that's not right," Urica said again, staring at Lindsay who was silent and staring into nothingness.
"I don't want to think about anything. But maybe we need to find out what's really going on with Lindsay," I suggested to her to which she immediately agreed.
Their break came when they were about to call Lindsay, she quickly left without saying goodbye to the two of them. She has done it three times. That's why i and Urica are so worried about our friend. It no longer goes with their food in the canteen.
Luna acted quickly so she could catch up with Lindsay and Urica did the same. They did everything they could to catch up with their friend.
I immediately grabbed Lindsay by the arm who was almost surprised by what I did.
"I'm sorry, I thought who was it," she said as I saw the fear in her eyes.
"Is there something you're not telling us?" I asked her who looked away from me again. "Lindsay!" My voice was high when I called it again.
"Nothing, what about you? When I say nothing and I'm okay, I'm okay!" she said but I can still see that she is lying.
"Hey, oh no! I'm hungry, come on and go to the canteen. Then you two will not have an argument." Urica pulled out hands at the same time.
"I can't eat at the canteen-" she immediately cut us off as I wondered again.
"Why? You haven't been with us for days, ah. That's not funny, Lindsay!" Urica with a mixture of annoyance at his friend's behavior.
"Come on, go with Urica. We haven't bonded for three days so don't say no." I pushed her from behind to force her to walk towards the canteen.
I felt Lindsay's body move but I grabbed her arm and pulled her.
We were eating our lunch when I noticed Lindsay barely touching her food. It always seems to be looking for something. It always looks at my back where the entrance is.
It's like I can read what's happening to my friend. She is afraid of someone who she can't calm down.
I saw the sudden widening of her eyes at the same time she bent down quickly to hide her face.
"Well, well, well-" voice I turned around. A group of women approached where Lindsay was sitting. Their postures are like a campus fire. Contrary to the cool, and fiery men. There were six of them, and if i wasn't mistaken, the one holding Lindsay was their leader.
"I told you never to show your face didn't I? So why are you here?" these soft words in Lindsay's ear. I saw Lindsay was scared and Urica could hardly look at them.
"I'm asking you, why are you here?" the leader repeated in her friend's ear.
I was biting my lip because I felt so numb. Because those in front of me, I remembers that they are the groups that bully weak women. And one of hee friends was there. My feelings grew even more when I saw a woman pulling Lindsay's hair. A woman was about to pour milk on Lindsay's face when I suddenly stood up and slammed my palms on the table. Everyone was surprised by what I did and the group suddenly looked at me.
"Don't worry, get out of here if you don't want to be affected," the leader smiled at me.
I felt Urica tugging on my blazer and saying no. But I ignored it because I could see my friend's suffering.
"Don't let me know? Do you see what you are doing to my friend?" My sharp words accompanied by a sharp look at them.
"Ah...this is your friend," she suddenly pushed Lindsay's head causing her to gnaw on her own food.
Then my chest suddenly exploded with anger and I took the tray with food and threw it in the face of the woman who pushed my friend's head.
Everyone was surprised by what I did. I got out of my seat and faced their smiling leader. I resisted the evil look she gave me even though she was smiling.
"You are brave," she told me.
I didn't pay attention to that, instead I pulled Lindsay out of them and gave them to Urica.
"Take her to the bathroom to clean up." I ordered Urica to immediately follow me.
Before I faced them again. Many people were already watching us at that time.
"What did my friend do to you to ruin her face?" I asked her as I turned my gaze to the woman who pushed Lindsay's head who was wiping her uniform and I was about to be hurt to see her looking at her. Its leader just blocked her arm.
"Because your friend did something against our group," said the leader.
"Against your group? Then! What Is that?" I challenge them to just laugh.
"You know, don't feel like a hero here in our building because you might regret it later," she said near my ear.
"I'm not feeling like a hero, I just want you to be clear that what you're doing is wrong. It's not because your parents are influential that you have the right to hurt other people. And you're saying that someone did something against your group? I just want to ask, are you not violating humanity here on campus?" My bold words to them.
"You're brave and you're standing up to us," she said while caressing my cheek which I just let go.
Because it's time to hurt me, I won't hesitate to fight.
"I'll forgive what you did today, but that doesn't mean you're safe with us," she smiled insultingly and let her fellow dogs leave.
I breathed a sigh of relief when they left. I sat down and closed my eyes then tied my long hair. In that scene, I noticed that the sociopath was staring at me in the distance. Sitting and leaning with arms folded. Next to it Is the woman who looks at me sharply and there are other men with her. I have struggled with them before took Lindsay's stuff that was left behind as well as my stuff. I quickly went to the bathroom where I ordered Urica to take Lindsay. I saw Lindsay crying while Urica hugged her.
"Luna, what happened?" Urica looked at Lindsay when she saw me.
"Nothing," I said which still surprised me because Lindsay quickly approached her to get a good look at her.
"Did they hurt you?" Lindsay worries about me.
"No. Tell me, are they the ones you have on your lips?" I am referring to the wound on the side of the lip.
Lindsay wiped the tears from her cheeks and faced me again. She nodded and suddenly hugged her.
"I'm afraid of them, Luna," she said weakly.
"What did you do and suddenly you became their target?" I asked her as she rubbed Lindsay's rear.
"That's what I asked her before you entered," Urica interjected.
"I don't know, it's just that the other day someone suddenly called me and suddenly hit me," she said, sobbing Lindsay's words.
"Didn't you fight them?" I repeat here.
Suddenly, Lindsay's embrace loosened from me.
"I fought back and told her I would report them but they scared me, " Lindsay's trembling words.
"I told you, Luna, it's hard to fight against people like them. They're not just ordinary students here on campus. Their parents will be convinced that even if you complain, they won't be fired or punished. Especially for people like us who have no opponents." Urica explained to me.
"Who are they? Why do they hurt students like that?" I asked again as I watched the trembling Lindsay. It's like being traumatized by what happened.
"The leader is the son of the Congressman and the one who held Lindsay's head is the son of the mayor," she answered me weakly.
I looked around and bit my lip because I couldn't think of any reason to fight it. Who is i to collide with them only to lose. First of all, i might be expelled from the campus that her aunt paid for and that's what I doesn't want to happen.
"Luna, because of your help, they might target you," Lindsay said me.
"That won't happen and don't worry," I said but the truth was that I was suddenly nervous. I fought those groups and maybe they will come back to me. How will I deal with it?
Monday came and they had two days off from the last incident. I was surprised because my two friends were not in their seats yet. I used to get them right away. But now there is nothing. I looked at my watch and their class was about to start in ten minutes.
After finishing their first subject, Urica and Lindsay were still gone, which surprised me. I immediately texted them to ask them why they didn't come in?
Suddenly my phone rang and Urica's name appeared on the screen.
I immediately answered it.
"Hello, Urica. Why didn't you come in? Lindsay wasn't there either," I said on the other line.
"Do you want to see your friends?" i heard a different voice that surprised me.
"Who are you?"
The person on the other line laughed loudly. "If you want to meet me, come here to sports complex A. Go to the back, to the aroma's garden. Now!" there it has turned off the line.
I quickly moved to go to that place. The senior high's sport complex is far away from their building. I did it walking and running, which is why I was out of breath when I reached that place.
Lindsay and Urica were sitting with three guards behind them. I quickly approached it but a woman stopped me.
"Are you all right?" I asked the two who nodded at the same time.
I looked at their appearance and there was no scar or even a wound on their face.
"As we expected, you are even earlier than I set minutes of your arrival," said the leader of the one I bumped into.
"What is this again?" I frowned and asked the leader.
"As you can see, your friends are fine. We didn't hurt them," she smiled at me.
"Let them go," I ordered.
Suddenly, even her companions laughed.
"Okay! I'm easy to talk to but on one condition," she said as she turned me around and suddenly put her arms around me.
"I'm a kind person, but you have to follow my orders," she added.
I looked at my two friends who were shaking their heads at the same time.
"If I don't follow your order what will you do?" I asked her who was now staring at me.
She signaled to her companions and together they pulled Lindsay and Urica's hair. The two screamed in pain.
"Stop it! Are you going to do nothing but hurt other students?" I said angry words to the smiling leader.
"We won't hurt your friends if you just follow our orders," she said to me again. "And you have no right to ask us why we are doing this?"
"Alright, I'll do what you want, just let my two friends go. And don't hurt them," I condition them.
"Cool!" she quickly answered and ordered her companions to release the two.
Lindsay and Urica were about to approach me, but the leader's companions did not let them approach, but accompanied them to leave this place.
When the two were out of my sight, I faced the leader again who was now sitting complacently watching me.
"By the way, I'm Edith, I'm 1 year ahead of you," she introduced as she twirled the end of her hair with her poinyed fnger.
"I'm not interested on you," I answered boldly and looked straight at her.
"I like you, you're brave and you're showing us how to protect your friends against us. It's rare to have someone like you and you impress me," she said together and put her arms around me again but I pulled away which made her even more happy.
"Do you know Lucas?" she said with a serious face.
"Lucas? The sociopath? What do I have to do with that man?" I answered her directly.
"So? Did you catch Lucas's personality early on?" she whispered in my ear as she approached me.
"I'll have you do something," this woman's companion handed me a paper bag.
"What am I going to do here?" I asked with a wrinkled forehead as I accepted the paper bag.
"It's simple, give that to Lucas. You have nothing else to say except that you can give that to him without mentioning anything about us. And make sure he accepts that and when he accepts it ftom you, your two friends will be safe from my group." Edith explained to me.
"And what if he didn't accept?" I asked again.
Edith smiled then sat down again. "We will only know that when my boss tells us what we are going to do with you,"
"Besides you, do you have a boss?" I laughed out loud when I heard that. I can't believe they still have a boss they have to obey.
"What's funny with what I said?" Edith said to me when she noticed my laughter.
"Nothing," I suddenly became serious when I saw the people with me frowning.
"Oh, what are you waiting for? Get out!" Edith yelled at me, which surprised me. I stepped my foot back before I turned around and quickly left that garden.
I need to find that man to give what Edith's group gave to me and needs to accept it because the safety of my friends depends on my hand not to bukky them again from group of that crazy Edith.
Fortunately, at that time we have no subject so I was free to find where that man was.
I was annoyed because i was tired of walking just to find that sociopath man. Because I have no idea where his room is and where he is staying. I didn't ask Edith that because i was dismissed right away and i also forgot to ask.
While I was looking for that Lucas in every room, I noticed the man i would meet while walking.
"Wait a minute," i said to the man with the same uniform as Lucas who immediately stopped walking.
"What is that Miss?" he asked me before.
"Do you know Lucas? 'The tall handsome one here on campus? The one that the women are making so much trouble that the man is almost drooling," i gave a poker face to the man in front of me when I said that the women were making a mess.
The man I was talking to laughed at me and I grinned.
"I know that Lucas," he said smiling. "And I know where he is now,"
"Really? Can you tell me where I can find him?" I smiled in relief because I was relieved to hear that the person I was talking to knew where the man I was looking for was.
"I'll go with you so you can get close to him. It's not easy to approach that, especially if it's with Jenny." He said.
"Ahh...that grumpy Jenny?" I said as I nodded.
"Have you met her yet?" he asked me with his eyes looking at the paper bag I was holding.
"Yes, guess who it is," I said again.
"Looks like Jenny did something bad to you, huh?" at the same time.
I looked at the man I was talking to from head to toe. He was handsome and he estimated that he was as tall as the man he was looking for.
"Come with me because I might be late for our next subject." I suddenly said that I did not answer his wuestion.
I was tired from walking from earlier and here I am again walking along the hallway of building B. Earlier I had circled building A and now I walk circle building B again.
I had been feeling the vibration of my phone and I knew it's my friend calling me. But I decided to answer them later even though i knew they were already worried about me.
Luna hesitated when she was in front of Lucas. They are in a beautiful canteen that is exclusive only to people like them. Next him is Jenny who is still drinking juice. They were the only two there.
"Why are you with him Nicko?" Jenny immediately asked her companion.
They know each other so that the reason he knows where they are.
"I was just asked if I know Lucas who is tall and handsome and gets confused by drooling women? Am I correct?" he said to me when I suddenly looked at him because I didn't expect him to say what I mentioned to him.
I kept grinning at him. Breathing in, I faced Lucas again who now frowned and looked at me intently. I didn't know what I was going to say, especially since I could see the seriousness and sharpness in his face if he could look.
LUCAS
I was staring at the paper bag this woman was holding in front of me. I frowned and peeked to see her face but she was just bowing. Earlier she was boldly staring at me and she had the courage to tell my cousin that women who drool confuse me. At first I wanted to smile but it was different from the girl.
"What is that paper bag?" I asked her, which was immediately looked at by the woman in front of me.
"For you," she said quickly without looking at me.
"For me?" I wondered because everyone who tried to give me something gave it gently, while the one in front of me seemed to be forced.
"Accept it, I'll give it to you." It's a smiling but fake word again. Because its eyes I see it's not smiling shining like other women give me. She was just forced and I didn't know why.
"Why would you give him something like that?" It was Jenny's flat words that I took away immediately because of the sudden change in the face of the woman in front of me.
I smiled for a moment. I don't know why, but I suddenly smiled.
"Why do you have to give me something like that?" I asked again raising my eyebrows here.
"Take it, there's nothing wrong with taking it from me? And my hand is shaking," she slightly lifted the paper bag in front of me again.
The last thing she said was just a whisper but I heard it and suddenly I breathed a smile.
"Is it forced?" I asked again that I could see the change in her face.
"I don't want to say this but I will be grateful from the bottom of my heart if you accept it. Because you can save someone," this serious word surprised me.
I hesitated to accept the paper bag but this girl really got my attention. I knew she was new to campus and I knew she didn't know me. But why do the other new students recognize me immediately and I can see their affection for me. But the girl in front of me is different. Because for the first time, it was the only one who hurt him and resisted with words.
I don't accept anything from my fellow students but I accepted this woman's paper bag.
She smiled when I took the paper bag from her hand and at that moment I saw her true smile which made me stop. It was only then that I noticed that she had dimples on both cheeks and that she looked very beautiful with her real smile.
"Thank you," she bowed and quickly disappeared from my sight because she ran and almost ran fast.
"You accepted?" the incredulous Jenny.
"Why not? Eh, that girl's background is different." Nicko joined me in the chair opposite me.
I put the paper bag I was holding on the glass table and stared at it.
"What is that?" Jenny was about to take it but I suddenly pulled her hand away.
"What's wrong with you? You don't just accept something like that," she complained to me with a frown.
"Maybe it's not bad if I receive a gift from a fan," I said with a smile on my face as I held the string of the paper bag.
"Well, from what I can see, you seem to be interested in that girl?" Nicko said to me with an ear-to-ear smile.
"No, maybe it's just a coincidence that I'm not in the mood to say no."
But the truth is that I am really interested in that girl.
I smiled at myself. Girl, girl if I call her because I don't know her name but she knows my name right away.
"Lucas, you're smiling," my cousin said mischievously. "You don't just smile like that,"
I looked at Jenny who suddenly elbowed me. "Are you interested in her?" this is a straightforward question.
I just shook my head but kept a smile on my lips.
Our prof had just come out when Catherine, our president, approached me inside the room.
"What is that?" she pointed to a paper bag on my front desk.
Inside the room, this is the only person I talk to because I am his vice president
"Nothing," I hide it under my desk.
"Don't tell me you have now accepted the gift of your suitors?" she said smiling as she sat on top of my desk. "You didn't accept before, ah, what did you eat-"
"Jenny gave that to me and one more thing, get off my desk," I pushed, which immediately followed.
"Hey, oh my! Jenny is very lucky that you always accept only her. I just want to ask, is it you?" Catherine asked me seriously, bringing her face even closer.
I pushed her face with my hand, which in turn was tilted by Catherine.
"We don't have any," I answered briefly.
"But the talk here on campus is about you. That's why the girls who approach you will be bullied because they like you and Jenny," she said.
I was surprised by what Catherine said. It was new to my hearing.
"What did you say?" I asked her who immediately turned to me.
"You do not know? That when women approach you and give you something, Edith's group bullies them." she explained to me, which worried me.
"How did you know those things?" I asked again.
"Said around. Why? Don't you get it?" she asked me with a frown and mixed with surprise.
I shook my head because I really don't know what was going on. And most of all I was shocked.
Then the woman who gave her earlier is also in danger? And I am the reason for the bullying happening inside the campus?
I shook my head suddenly. "No, that's not true because the last one I saw being bullied by Edith's group didn't come near me. So it's unlikely that I'm the reason for everything," I thought.
"What are you thinking?' Catherine suddenly asked me as she patted my shoulder.
"Nothing," I immediately answered.
"Oh, what are you waiting for? Come and let's change our P.E. We might be late for Sir De Guzman." It was the first to leave at the same time.
I was currently stretching my arm without losing my mind on what was inside the paper bag. I opened it before I went to the sports gym of our campus.
A home made biscuit and there was a small note on it that said meet me at aroma's garden with a date and time. That's it and it doesn't have a name on it.
Just before that woman handed me the paper bag, it was as if she was forcing it because of her forced smile. And in my old age she said that she would be grateful with all his heart if i accepted it because I could save someone.
There I stopped, smiling to myself again.
That paper bag was not from the woman but was ordered to be given to me.
So it is not unlikely that the reaction he will see on the woman's face is because he thinks she was threatened by someone.
And he needs to explore it.
His thoughts stopped when we started physical education. Our group of boys will play basketball in the half court while the group of girls will play volleyball in the other half court.
Our team is currently warming up with many cheering us on. As usual, the grade 11s are watching me, even the grade 12s that I've been seeing for a long time following me and just looking at them.
On the one hand I noticed while I was resting a group watching and smiling. The two of them cheered for us while the other one just sat and was busy scrolling on her phone. That woman was none other than the woman who handed him the paper bag. Besides, it was the only one that didn't stand and watch that I liked.
"Lucas!" my partner yelled at me, which is why I returned to the trance that I was in the middle of playing.
In the long minute we were playing, she didn't even glance at us playing basketball. While everyone is sighing and saying his name, she put the earphone of the woman in her ears that she liked so much.
"Lucas! What?!" my companion shouted at me again.
"Are you okay? You don't seem to be in the mood," one of my team said to me, which I immediately dismissed. I signaled to them that I was out first.
While I was heading to my seat to grab the hanging towel, my eyes didn't leave the seat of the woman who didn't even look at me. While others are thrilled by his presence.
I smirked to myself. One day it confused my brain and now he feels annoyed by what I see.
"The hell of this lady?" I sat down at the same time while my mind was occupied by that woman who was not watching me.
