He's My Heartbeat

I walked into the hallway of my school and found people were whispering. No, it's not about me but they're talking about someone transferring into our school.

"I swear I saw him, he will be the next IT boy!"

"Hope he's in the same class with us."

"Where is he?"

"He's in the teacher's office getting his schedule."

I turned to Lia, my one and only bestfriend, and she shook her head. We both are not interested in gossiping besides I don't think we will care about this new boy.

Let me introduce myself, my name is Hailey Song. My mother is American and my father is Half Korean and Half American. People only knew me as an ordinary girl who sometimes get into trouble but I'm actually Harrison North's one and only daughter. My family actually owns a couple big trading companies and chemical companies. I begged my family let me change my name to Hailey Song just for the sake of highschool and they let me. They completely understand and let me do my thing. The school knew about my real identity and Lia of course.

As the only child, my family loved to spoil me. They love to give me all the things I want in this world but my grandmother told me to not to be greedy.

"He's coming!" I turned my head around to see where the screaming came from.

"You already collect the homework?" Lia asked and I nodded as I turned my head back to her.

"Oh!" I heard girls squealing and some girls were sighing. I heard that the new guy went to the class next to us. Even though I said I don't care but I'm still curious. We walked into our class and the bell rang.

"Students!" My biology teacher came and I sat down on my usual seat.

"Mr. McCoy, why isn't the nee guy go to this class?" I turned to see one of my friends said it and I shook my head.

"He belongs next door, now.. let's start the class." He announced and we started to study. I was not paying attention because I'm not in the mood to study, I want thrill and school is not giving it to me these days. After a few classes, the bell rang for us to have a break.

Lia grabbed my hand dragging me to the cafeteria.

"I'm so hungry, you don't understand." Lia said and I chuckled. As we walked into the cafeteria, there's people whispering and I turned to see the new guy. He's around 6 foot 3, he has a muscular body that was meant for sports and his eyes are blue with his sandy colored hair. All eyes are on him and it was like a magnet to me.

"Hailey.. earth to Hailey." Lia poked my arm but I can't turn to her just yet.

"Hailey!" She pinched me and I turned to her glaring.

"Christian Russo.. he's hot." I heard someone said his name. I found myself smirking when I found out his name.

"Oh no! I know that look.." Lia said and she continue to drag me to buy food.

"Christian Russo." I repeated.

"Take the freaking food." Lia hissed and I chuckled nodding. I ordered some food but I kept stealing glances on Christian Russo. He's going towards the line with his new friends.

After grabbing my food and paying for it, I walked to our usual seat. I moved my seat to look at Christian who's currently picking his food.

"You're too obvious! I thought you won't care about the new guy." Lia said and I turned to her. She took a big of her burger and I leaned my body back to my seat.

"He's different, I knew it." I said and Lia chucklee.

"Yeah different, he looks like an asshole to me." She said and sipped on her coke.

"Something about him.."

"Developing a crush?" Lia asked as she grabbed her burger again.

"I don't know." I turned to look at Christian again. He's walking to an empty seat with his friends. Some girls walked up to him asking something and he brushed them off.

"He's popular and I'll bet my money that he's an asshole."

"You assume too early."

"I know, Hailey." She said without looking at me.

"You rarely have a crush on anyone." She added before I let out a sigh.

"I know."

"He's sitting with Gio, Mike and Fred." Yup, those are my friends but I barely notice them because I've been busy looking at him. Let alone noticing who is sitting with.

Gio was my childhood friend, we were close but everything changed as the time goes by. He's a basketball player and he's good. Mike and Fred are basketball players too and they're pretty popular but not like Gio. I'm assuming that Christian is interested in basketball since he's hanging out with them.

I was busy looking at Christian and completely ignoring my food. Suddenly he turned his attention to me and smirked. My eyes widen and I turned to Lia. She's busy with her food and I gulped nervously.

"Did.. did he just.." I said to myself.

"He what?"

"Nothing.."

"Don't even think about crushing on him, he's trouble. I can sense it.." Lia warned but too late.

"I do have a crush on him."

"Yeah, it will last a day. I bet you." She said.

"Lia.." I sighed and she turned to me. I looked at her and she raised her eyebrows.

"Are you for real?"

"Yes."

"Goodluck."

"Here you go.." I said as I put two bottles of water in front of Christian. He looked at me annoyed and I smiled.

It's been 3 months since I laid my eyes on him and now I'm obsessed with him. I know everything about him, his schedules, his hobby, his favorite food, his favorite drinks and his color along with his family.

Some people might think I'm crazy but trust me I'm not. I was developing feelings from a simple crush to falling in love with the guy. I think I love him, I can't describe how I feel but it's just.. I know it's love. Everytime I looked at him or stood near him or hearing his voice, I just felt jumpy. I can't control my heartbeat and I just can't help but smile.

Weird? Yes.

I can say that Christian is my first love, since I'm this crazy. My mom knows about my crush and she just told me to go for it, I made her not to tell my dad because if he knows Christian is rude and cold, he will take actions.

"Move.." Christian said.

"But I bought you drinks." I said raising the two bottles of cold water again. He pushed me to the side making me drop the water. I knew this woukd happen, he did this to me a thousand times already. I grabbed the bottles and followed him again.

I grabbed a towel from my bag and gave it to him. He took it and wiped his sweat. He then threw the towel to me. I guess it's great that he knows me since he tends to ignore girls who are into him.

"Christian, I-"

"Can you just get lost already?" He gestured me to go away and I nodded. I walked away and went straight to my locker. I opened it to grab my gab and go home.

That's my routine, I guess. Lia told me that I'm crazy but I guess that's what love does to you. I'm one of his admirers and I can say that there's girls who are prettier than me, smarter than me and more athletic than me.

After basketball practice, he usually goes to his guitar course. He's good at playing guitar and he once played it and he got more girls swooning on him.

But that doesn't stop me, I'll stop the he asks me to stop. He knows that I'm into him and he's okay with it. As long as I don't cross the line, he'll just let me admire him.

I can say that I'm pretty patient when it comes to waiting. Cause love needs time, sacrificed and patience. 3 months have been tough but I don't easily give up on things. Even when there's rumous about him dating someone from another school, I never believed it unless he confirmed it himself.

He never said anything about it so I'll let it slide. I asked him about it one time and he was so annoyed that he told me he's single.

I was busy with my own thoughts that I bumped into someone. I almost fell down but he caught me right on time. I apologized to him and looked up.

"Sorry." I said and he smiled.

"It's okay! It's my fault anyway, I was busy with my phone." He said and I smiled.

"Sorry and thank you for saving me." I said and he chuckled.

"I'm Dean." He put his hand out and I'm pretty sure we're on the same grade.

"Hailey."

"You're from Brookwest?" He asked and I looked at him raising my eyebrows.

"Yes, why?"

"I'm going to transfer there actually.." He said.

"Oh really? What grade?"

"Same as you, I bet." He smirked.

"Really? That's great!"

"I just move here from New Zealand so maybe next week."

"Okay! I guess I'll see you soon?"

"Yes, I'll see you soon Hailey and it was really nice meeting you!" He said and I nodded. I bid my goodbyes and he waved back at me.

Today is the 14th of February, it's Valentine's Day. A day full of love where all couple have been waiting for this days, I mean not only couples but people who wants to confess their feelings too.

Today, I woke up at 2 in the morning to make a chocolate. I decided to make it at dawn so my dad won't ask questions.

"Ms. North, you're still awake?" My maid asked.

"Yes, I want to make chocolate." I smiled and felt sorry. I bet she woke up because she heard me being so loud in the kitchen. She decided to help me and when it's done, I took a quick sleep before waking up again to go to school.

"Here you go.." My maid gave me the chocolate as I arrived downstairs. I thanked her and put it jn my bag. Yesterday, I bought small cheese cake too and I can't wait to give it to Christian.

Today will be a great day.

My driver drove me to school and I got out a block away. I walked to school and guess what? They decorated the school with pink ballons and heart stickers all over the hallway.

I wrote a letter for Christian too, I know it's cheesy but it's okay.

"Hailey!" I turned to see Lia running towards me. She hugged me.

"Happy Valentines day!" She squealed.

"Happy Valentines day too, Lia!" I squealed. I grabbed a chocolate box for her and she thanked me. She gave me a brownie with my name on it.

"Thankyou!"

"Thank you to you too! Let's go.." She grabbed my hand and then I saw Christian standing in front of his locker. I gestured Lia to wait and I made my way to him. I grabbed his chocolate, the cheesecake and the letter. I poked his shoulder and he turned to me.

"Happy Valentine's day, Christian Russo." I smiled as I put all of the things I want to give him right in front of him.

"For you.." I said and he shook his head.

"I don't want it." He said and I sighed.

"Take it.." I begged.

"I said.. I don't want it." He brushed his hand making all of them fall to the ground. I looked down and sighed.

"Told you, don't ruin my day today." He hissed loud enough for everyone in the hallway to hear. His friends laughed at me and tears started to fill my eyes.

"You need to stop bugging me! You're just a dumb girl that begs for love! Pathetic!" He said coldly and my heart slowly turned cold. Someone picked up all the chocolates and cake from the floor and I turned to see Dean.

"This is how you treat girls?" Dean looked at Christian straight into his eyes and Dean put his arm around my shoulder.

"What a loser, come on Hailey!" He said and he dragged me out from the crowd.

"Dean.. you're here." I said still speechless.

"Hailey, you should have just give it to me! Since you already made it, I'll eat it.." He smiled and I stopped.

"No, I'll make you a new one. I'll give you tomorrow, don't eat this.." I said as I grabbed the chocolates and the cake. Dean patted my head and smiled.

"Hailey!" Lia stopped in front of me. When I saw her, tears fell down from my eyes.

"Shoot!" Lia said as she pulled me into a hug.

"You're in 2B right?" Dean asked.

"Yes, I'm Lia. Hailey's bestfriend." She said as she patted my back.

"Dean." He said.

"Let's go to class.." Lia said and she brought me to class along with Dean. Dean sat beside me and when people saw Dean, they're so confused but Dean only smiled to them. I knew immediately that Dean will be as popular as Christian but his aura is not as cold as Chris'.

The teacher walked in and it's time to start the class. Dean kept looking at me and asking if I'm okay. Dean was called by the principal to tour him around and Lia turned to me.

"He's nice.. and cute."

"He is." I nodded.

"You knew him.. before?"

"We bumped into each other last week and he told me he will transfer here." I said and Lia nodded. After 2 classes, Dean came back with a schedule in his hands and some new books.

"Let's have lunch together." He said as the bell rang.

"Okay!" I said and the three of us walked to the cafeteria. There's girls asking his name and wanting to know his phone number. Dean politely declined and he grabbed my hand.

"I need some help with school stuff since I'm not used to this. Will you help me?" Dean asked me as we grabbed our trays.

"Sure, why not."

"Thankyou. Now I have to see my cousin, give me a second." He said and I stopped him.

"You need to order your food.."

"Can you order it for me? I trust you." He smiled and I nodded.

"Who's your cousin?" Lia asked.

"Gio." My eyes widen and he chuckled seeing my expression. He excused himself and I ordered him some food. We walked to our usual seat and walked past Dean and Gio who are currently talking near Christian's table. I turned to Christian and he's already glaring at me.

"Let me.." Dean said making me turn to him.

"What did you order me?" He asked.

"Fish and chips." I said as we sat down.

"Thank you." Dean patted my head and I nodded. After lunch, I walked back without Lia and Dean since I wanted to go to the toilet and to Christian's locker. I wanted to slip my letter to him.

After going to the toilet, I walked to Christian's locker and slipped my letter.

"Well well well.." I turned around to see Calista and her minions.

"What?" I asked.

"Do you think you still can get his attention? He fed up with you already." She said in her bitchy tone.

"Stay away from him.. and Dean too. You don't get to hang out with two, choose one." Calista said coldly.

"Like I'll hangout with you." I turned to see Dean and he looked at Calista coldly. She immediately walked away.

"Thanks." I sighed.

"Don't worry, I got you." He smiled.

"Hailey, you need to learn how to stand up for yourself." He said and I nodded.

"I'm working on it."

"It's okay, as long as you have me, you'll be fine."
