Chapter 1 ONE..

The whole room was buzzing and clicking with the sound of camera shutters as Ava walked into the interview room with her four bodyguards behind her. As soon as she entered, everywhere became silent as everyone struggled to get a glimpse of the rare beauty that just entered. Ava Brown, the twenty four year old daughter of Steven Brown was the one who walked into the interview room with her usual proud look on her face. Her father Steven Brown was the owner of the world biggest automobile industry, OB holdings and she was the young heiress to that large conglomerate.

She grew up to be a narcissist and earned the name snotty witch from the people around her because of her weird and bizarre behavior but she was Ava right? She didn't care about anyone's opinions and was just interested in whatever she wanted to do. But as she walked into the interview room, the reporters couldn't help but marvel at the woman who just entered, dressed in a pair of limited edition clothes and bag. She looked dignified and poised with her calculated walking step as her assistant threaded behind her slowly with a grim look on her face. Actually who wouldn't have such a grim look when you have a boss like Ava Brown who only knew how to make people who dared to question her authority pay for their crimes.

" Welcome ma'am, we are so excited to have you on our show" the interviewer, Robert greeted respectfully as she lowered herself on her chair but she ignored his pleasantries and continued to stare at him without saying anything which made him to shudder back in fear, why was she always aloof from the world.

" I am a very busy woman Mr Robert, if you don't get this interview started in five minutes I will leave and not look back" she threatened raising an eyebrow and Robert quickly nodded and ran off to get the show started.

She hated people wasting her time the most and to her, time is money. If not for her dad who asked her so many times to attend the interview on his behalf, she would have been locked in the confines of her office burying herself in work. After all that was the only language she understood.

After her mother's death, she decided to share part of the responsibility with her dad and she made a name for herself all over the world and as people would call her, the snotty witch.

" We will be going live in three minutes ma'am" her assistant, Elora whispered into her ears and she nodded before continuing with what she was doing on her phone.

Just then one of the hosts walked up to Elora and whispered something into her ears and her eyes opened wide, how was she going to tell Ava ma'am about what she just heard but she knew if she didn't tell her, it would be trouble for her.

"Ava ma'am" she called slowly and she angrily raised her head towards her.

" What Elora?do you want to go out?" She snapped angrily and her assistant gulped in fear, this woman was always viscous and hard to communicate with. Only God knows how she was able to cope with her all this years.

" Your father has ordered Brian Whyte to come on the interview too" she replied timidly moving two inches backwards.

If there was anything Ava Brown was known for, it was her anger. Bryan white was the man her dad has forged a marriage alliance with in order to get her married, even if she didn't want to get married she loved her father too much to refuse such a request but she didn't want her relationship going public and didn't want the so called Bryan to show his face to her neither would she accept him just because they were going to get married.

Without bothering to answer her assistant, she stood up and walked towards Robert who was giving instructions to the technician and as the technician saw her he quickly walked away.

" Is it true my father has asked you to bring someone else on the interview?" Robert gulped nervously before giving a fake smile, this woman sure knows how to make someone pee his pants,

" He suggested since you both will be married soon, it will be good to make your first public appearance together so we can also get to know who your would be husband is".

" It seems I wasted my time coming for this interview" she replied and turned to go but he ran behind her, it took a really long time before she agreed to do an interview for their channel and how could they allow her leave like that?if she didn't want Bryan Whyte on the show then so be it.

" I am so sorry ma'am, I will call your father and let him know Bryan won't be on the interview". " Good" she replied, smiling creepily at him as she lowered herself on her chair again, what Ava wants she always gets.

********

The whole studio erupted in applause as the interview started, she was no longer dressed in the clothes she wore when she came but now she looked more professional and her elegance was top notch. She wore a pair of blue fitted skirt and her crisp white shirt was neatly tucked into it with her short hair lying neatly by her side, if everyone seated in the studio didn't know her attitude and temper, they would have surely given her a 100 percent perfect.

" We are happy to have you on our show miss Ava Brown" Robert said with a bright smile on his face, he also looked professional in his black suit and well styled hair.

" Thank you" she replied without a smile on her face, she knew she had a beautiful face so she didn't bother to smile to grace her already beautiful face, a pure narcissistic.

" So miss Ava, we will be frank and straightforward in this interview. Can you tell us how you have managed to make a name for yourself at such a young age and how it feels to be the young heiress to your father's empire?"

" You know Robert, for the fact that I am the heiress to my father's wealth, I have never depended on him to make my own name. Yes it's true I help him out at times but any thing attached to my name is purely based on my work and nothing else".

" Thats a good one, so the news about your wedding has been circulating for a while now, what do you have to say about it?"

" As you all know" She started slowly as her eye darted across the room to everyone watching her, " this marriage was fixed by my dad and I don't even know the groom but since I have already promised my father I will marry the man he chose but he should know we will not have a husband and wife relationship".

" What do you mean ma'am?" Robert asked, he didn't know why she was saying all she was saying. Everyone knew she was partly a psycho though.

" Should I tell you everything about my private life?"

" No, not really" he replied faking another smile.

" I know i am a public figure but I don't like washing my dirty linen in public, don't worry when the date is fixed I will be sure to invite you and your crew to cover the whole set up and as for the public, you are free to think whatever you want, I really don't care"

" we appreciate you ma'am for making out time for this interview, we hope to have more interviews with you in future" Robert said after a while smiling signifying the end of the interview.

" I am not sure of doing another interview for you but let's see how it goes" Saying that she stood up and left, her whole mood was already off after knowing her dad asked Bryan to attend the interview with her, what was he thinking anyway?.

" Where to ma'am?" Elora asked as they walked out of the interview room, judging by the look on Ava's face she knew she was already in a bad mood. That was how she was, she gets into a bad mood at the slightest provocation.

" Home" she replied boarding the car, her dad had to explain why he wanted Bryan on the show.

She agreed to marry the man her dad chose because she didn't want to upset him but that doesn't mean he should get to be anywhere she was. She has never met him either but as far as it was her dad's choice she would not complain but she would not share a relationship with him either. That point, she has already made it clear. ******

As soon as the car came to a halt in front of the house, she quickly alighted and angrily entered the house. Her father was seated in the parlor and enjoying a glass of wine when she walked up to him, an angry look on her face but he didn't bother to look at her.

" Why did you ask him on the interview dad?"

" You should take some rest Ava, you just got back from work you must be very tired" he replied casually sipping his drink, he already knew the kind of person she was and how to pacify her.

" I only agreed to this marriage dad and we do not have any kind of relationship whatsoever so please I don't want to meet him until the wedding day and you should fix it fast, I have my normal life to get back too" she retorted angrily and walked off to her room.

" Just like her mother" he muttered to himself as he watched her go with a smile on his face. Immediately she entered her room, she threw her things on the bed as she started to pull her clothes, she needed a soothing bath to calm her nerves down.

As she wanted to enter the bathroom, her phone began to ring and she knew who it was, the only friend she had in Los Angeles or should she say in the whole wide world.

" What is is Pam?I am not in a good mood so let's talk later".

" I watched your interview Ava, you are really a narcissist aren't you?" Pam asked from the other end teasingly and for the first time she smiled a little.

" I just had to make it clear to everyone you see, those jobless people keep prying into my private life and I don't like it".

" Very well then narcissistic Queen, just take some rest and we will talk later, bye" she said happily and disconnected the call before Ava threw the phone on the bed and went into the bathroom. How she and Pam became friends was even a mystery to her because she didn't like to be around people but the two were so close like sisters and she loved her alot. Aside from Pam and her dad, she didn't care about anyone else, not even her would be husband.

Chapter 2 TWO….

"Good morning ma'am"Elora greeted as Ava walked into her office, she had the usual cold look on her face.

She could hear murmurs from her employees as she entered the company but she was past caring about that, she knew everything they always said about her and even the nicknames they had given her but since none of them was brave enough to say it to her face, they were better off behind her.

" What is my schedule for today?" She asked, dropping her bag on the table and sitting down.

" You have a lunch meeting with Mr James and your gown fitting is today too but the annual month meeting Is in a few minutes" Elora replied professionally.

" Very well then, inform everyone to move to the conference room now. I will be there in a few minutes"

she gestured with a wave of her hand and Elora bowed respectfully before walking out. Ava checked some documents before standing up to go for the meeting.

The whole hall had a pin drop silence as she entered with her head held high, she has always been as proud as a peacock and everyone knew that.

" The snotty witch is here" one of the workers muttered to another but she was very unlucky as her voice filtered into Ava's ears and she stopped in her tracks.

" Who just spoke?" Her voice resounded so much authority that some of them had to gulp in fear, she was always terrifying and scary but no one dared to stand up even as she asked the question.

" Will you stand up or I should fish you out myself?" She demanded but the whole room was dead silent and a smile appeared on her face as she faced the direction where the voice came from.

In less than two minutes, she reached where she wanted and a slap landed on the face of one of her employees, Lucy. Everyone gasped in surprise because the slap held so much weight and immediately her hand was imprinted on Lucy's face.

" How dare you?" She clamored angrily as she continued to stare daggers at Lucy. No one dared to say anything in order to incur her wrath again, her anger has always been bad.

" I am sorry ma'am, it was a slip of the tongue and I promise not to be so big mouthed next time" Lucy begged as she fell on the floor in tears. If she had known she wouldn't have said a word and now she knew she would pay for it dearly.

" Sorry?" Ava asked Mockingly, " you all should know that whatever happens in this company I know everything about it and for the fact that I allow you to call me names doesn't mean I am okay with it, but now I will use you as a scapegoat and teach everyone a lesson. Elora, call the police. I want to file a case of defamation".

The rest of the employees could only feel pity for Lucy, if they all didn't know Ava Brown they would have thought she was going extreme but this was the woman who has sent a lot of people behind bars just because of some trivial matters.

" Okay ma'am" Elora responded and quickly rushed out to do her work, she knew more than to disobey Ava Brown.

" Ma'am , I will serve you for the rest of my life please have mercy" tears were already streaming down her eyes as she begged, getting on the wrong side of Ava Brown was like going to hell and staying there.

Forgiveness was something that Ava Brown didn't have in her dictionary.

" This should be as a warning to the rest of you" she turned to Lucy, " and get ready to live the rest of your life in seclusion because you will not be able to find work in any part of this country I promise" she threatened before calling security and they came rushing inside.

" Take her away and hand her over to the police when they arrive, I will go to the station later".

" Yes ma'am" they said in unison and set to work amidst Lucy's pleas but as usual, it fell on deaf ears.

" Let's get back to the meeting" she ordered going back to her seat like nothing happened," start with the presentation" she gestured putting on her glasses.

But as soon as Gary who was supposed to give the presentation for his team climbed the podium he began to fidget due to fear especially with the way she kept staring at him intensely, he felt like he was about to collapse.

" What is going on?".

" Sorry ma'am, I haven't figured out the whole presentation yet" Gary replied in a scared tone, he knew she would not let him off easily.

The loud bang on the table made everyone shudder in fear, one drama just finished and another one was about to start.

" What the hell is wrong with all of you today" her voice resounded so loudly inside the room in anger,

" do I pay you all too much and now you guys don't work but just laze around?, Two days and if this nonsense is not sorted out, I will have all of you replaced" she snapped angrily before walking out and Elora followed closely behind leaving the remaining employees.

" That woman would surely be the death of us" they muttered to themselves.

" Cancel the lunch meeting with Mr James and prepare the car for the gown fitting" she ordered immediately they entered the office.

She wasn't in the mood to work again after what she just experienced in the conference room, it seemed like everyone was slacking off.

" But madam, Mr James may not take it well. He had to cancel his trip because of this meeting you see"

" Do I look like I care?If he doesn't want to reschedule he can as well pay the compensation and call the deal off. I am a very busy woman and that he knows" she answered in a calm yet threatening voice and Elora could only sigh deep within herself.

" Sorry ma'am" she quickly apologized and scurried out of the room. It was obvious Ava was in a bad mood she didn't want to aggravate her the more.

" Welcome ma'am" the designer greeted politely as Ava walked into the room alongside her assistant.

She wanted to choose a gown and get everything over with. Knowing who her dad was, he could announce the wedding to be the next day.

" Do you have the gowns ready?" Elora asked professionally looking round the room.

" Actually ma'am, a gown arrived for you this morning. It is as designed by EQ himself" she replied sweetly and led them to a room.

The gown on the hanger was something neither of them had seen before because it was past perfect and it looked so beautiful that Elora gasped in awe at the design. It was a one in a lifetime Kind of dress and it would surely fit Ava superbly with her slender and tall figure.

The handless gown was embedded with diamonds all over the space covering the cleavage area and the back was bare to the waist. Ava kept looking at the gown for a while without saying anything but she truly appreciated the masterpiece in front of her. EQ was the best designer anyone could find in the world but it was just a shame that he never goes public and only his designs speak for him, even with the amount of money she had in her possession she could still not find out anything about the man who had made a world wide name for himself but she wondered why he designed her wedding dress when they were not even connected.

" Will you like to try it out ma? this is the only design in the whole wide world" She added sweetly but typical Ava just rolled her eyes like she wasn't Interested in the details and moreover she told her dad not to make things too extravagant but he wouldn't listen would he?.

" Why will EQ design my dress when we don't know each other?" She asked, turning to the Lady and the latter gave a smile.

" This is just one of his outlets ma'am and we work according to the instructions given to us.

Looking at the gown for a while, she unknowingly nodded her head,

" Yes, I will try it on," she added and they went to work.

As soon as the gown made contact with her body it became one with her. It fitted her superbly showing off her hourglass figure and with the way it was bare to her waist it would make any man drool over her spotless back not to talk more of the way the gown clung onto her body down to her knees before opening like a flower. EQ who designed the gown must be an expert to come with such an outstanding masterpiece in just a short while.

" You look really beautiful ma'am" Elora said sincerely as she beamed with smiles, everything about the gown made her happy like she was the bride.

" This EQ must really be talented to make such a dress in a short amount of time" Elora beamed happily as her eyes continued to linger on the wedding dress on Ava's body.

" He is the best I tell you" Not minding their conversation, Ava kept admiring the wedding dress as she stood in front of the mirror, she hardly ever acknowledged something but this piece or art was too good to be true but she had to keep her praises in her heart.

" Very well then, have the gown delivered to my house at the earliest" Ava said after a while pushing the name to the back of her head, she didn't really care if he was the number one designer in the world.

" Yes madam".

As they continued to make finishing touches to the gown, Elora tried googling about this EQ but the only thing she saw were his world famous designs and not even one of his pictures were online.

" This is weird" she muttered to herself, how could a world figure like that be So private?.

``If you are done, we should leave" she heard Ava's voice and quickly jumped from where she was seated, the gown fitting was already done and it was time to leave when a message popped on Ava's phone screen.

" What is the message?" She asked as they went towards the car.

" Your father has fixed the wedding for this weekend ma'am and today is already Thursday. He has made all the arrangements and yours is just to get dressed and go to the wedding".

"Very well then, I should get things over with quickly" she responded entering inside the car.

As soon as she laid her head on the headrest she closed her eyes and her mind wandered off to the gown again.

It was a very beautiful piece of art and if only she was having a wedding truthfully it would have been the happiest day of her life. But she just wanted to be on her own without any man giving her orders, she wanted to be a self made woman but since she already promised to get married to any man her dad chose just to satisfy him, she didn't think much about it. After all, she already made it clear on national TV that neither of them would share a husband and wife relationship and it would be so. Too bad, the designer has wasted his time in creating that masterpiece because it meant nothing to her. " Where to ma'am?" Elora asked, Bringing her back to the present.

" Pam's" she answered with her eyes still closed as the car zoomed off.

Chapter 3 THREE..

It was a sunny morning but the groom seemed to have a bit of a problem as he rushed into a room to see his best friend still sprawled on the bed sleeping like nothing mattered in the world.

"Wake up you sleepyhead" Bryan said as he shook his friend from sleep, there was a hint of urgency in his voice and it was also evident on his face.

Bryan Whyte was the son of the Army general and his only son, his father agreed to his marriage with Ava because to him it would widen his horizon but right now they seem to be an issue with the marriage and the only person who could help him now was his friend Zeke who was busy sleeping like a log of wood.

Zeke was his closest friend and buddy but he had a knack for causing trouble every now and then and no one knew anything about his family or where he was from, he was just a usual Los Angeles boy who enjoyed the ogles and attention of women.

" What is it man?" He asked, opening his eyes lazily as he glared at Bryan.

They had gone to bed late last night and now he won't even allow him to get his beauty sleep before the wedding.

" There is a problem Zeke" Bryan replied sitting on the bed hurriedly, they were both handsome men but Bryan could not compare to Zeke who looked like a Greek god straight out of a painting.

" What happened?did that vile woman refuse to marry you?" he asked teasingly.

The name Ava Brown was not a new name for either of them and they kept wondering why his father agreed to the alliance when everyone knew how that woman was.

" Something came up and I have to go to Las Vegas right now and it's important".

" Right now? dude it's your wedding today, are you planning on ditching it?" Zeke asked wide eyed, unaware of the bizarre request his friend was about to ask him.

" That is why I am here bro, you should always be ready to help this needy friend of yours. Moreover we have been through a lot in life, right from the army till now".

Zeke raised an eyebrow at how dramatic Bryan sounded, he only does this when he had something up his sleeve and he could already guess what he wanted from him,

" Should I go to Las Vegas for you then?".

" No man, you just have to be the groom" he replied hastily and Zeke's mouth hung open in surprise to his friends ridiculous request.

He didn't answer for a while and he started laughing hard that tears welled up in his eyes, right now Bryan looked like a clown to him.

" Why are you laughing man?I am dead serious right now, my flight is in an hour and the wedding is by ten".

" Are you being serious right now Bryan?how did you even come up with such an idea?I mean how can I pretend to be you when everyone knows you"

Bryan smiled as he brought out something from his back and Zeke shook his head in disbelief, it seemed like this crazy dude already had everything planned out.

It was a mask they both made when they were still in the army, Zeke was always getting into trouble with the army commanders so Bryan decided to get a mask of each of their faces made so he would be able to save his troublesome friend since he was the son of the army general. He didn't know it would come in handy one day.

" Look man, once I get back you can just switch places, it's that simple.

"This is crazy man, what if I get caught? That witch might kill me before you actually get back Bryan".

" Just think of this as another adventure of yours bro, you love playing this kind of game right? just say yes already?".

Zeke could only shake his head in disbelief, he was here for his best bud's wedding right?so how the hell did he become the fucking groom?

" And your dad?" He asked after a while in a serious tone, Bryan was someone who he held dear to his heart as he was the only family he knew and he was willing to do anything for him.

" He doesn't have to know. it's just between the two of us".

Sighing heavily he finally nodded,"

incase something happens to me before you come back, you must take revenge on that vile woman" he added smiling.

" Thanks man, I sure owe you one. I will get going now, just fill me in on whatever happens".

" Okay bro, take care" he replied before Bryan hurriedly walked out of the room,

" It seems my boring life Is about to get a little interesting" he muttered to himself smiling, this adventure he would make sure he enjoys and can't wait to see the look of confusion on Ava's face when she learns the truth.

Thinking about all that, he Made his way into the bathroom to have a shower, after all he had a wedding to prepare for.

BREAKING NEWS:

The daughter of Steven Brown, world's largest automobile company and the young heiress to the big conglomerate is getting married to Bryan Whyte, the son of the army general of the United States of America.

This was the news circulating all around the country on the bright Saturday morning as Ava was getting ready to walk down the aisle. It was a wedding a lot of people would have loved to attend but it was strictly based on invitation and they could only wait to watch it on the television.

The wedding was held in an open space and it was less filled because she specifically wanted just close relatives to be in attendance and even the press, one two of them were allowed into the venue.

Her father agreed to do what she wanted because she also did what he wanted. Zeke was already standing at the altar when he saw the bride making her way down the aisle, her dad gently holding her hand in his and he had a smile on his face but under that veil, she had a grim look on her face like she wanted the wedding to be over soon.

Everyone gasped in surprise as she entered because on her body was the world's most expensive and beautiful wedding dress and with the way the diamonds shone on it, she looked like an angel straight out of heaven.

She was already a beauty to behold and with this delicate masterpiece on her body, but this was Ava Brown and no one dared to openly commend her.

The look on Zeke's face changed as he saw her walk down the aisle, he didn't she would look good in a wedding dress and especially this one, if only Bryan was here to see her but since he was Bryan now, he faked a smile at her but underneath that smile a different emotion was brewing.

" Where is your best man?" Mr Brown whispered into his ears as he walked up to him on the altar and that was when it occurred to him, they made all the arrangements but forgot about the best man? what kind of a mistake was that?.

" Actually father in law, he came down with diarrhea this morning and I couldn't find a replacement so I decided to do everything on my own" where he got this lie from he didn't know but he was glad he was able to come up with it.

" Very well then" he replied and gently placed her hands on his before walking away. Immediately her hands touched his, a look of surprise appeared on his face.

He thought her hands would be just as hard as her heart but it was soft and delicate like she has never done any work in her life, it was just so tender.

" Wow" he muttered his breath but she quickly removed her hand from his and faced the officiating priest.

" Don't you dare touch me like that again" she warned through gritted teeth and Instead he smiled at her, this wedding was sure to be fun for him.

" Brethren, we are gathered here today to witness the holy matrimony between Bryan Whyte and Ava Brown and if you have any reason why this couple should not be joined in holy matrimony, speak now or forever remain silent".

As no one said anything, the priest turned to them and began the ceremony proper.

" Bryan Whyte, do you take Ava Brown as your lawfully wedded wife, to love and to hold until death do you part?".

" I do, priest" Zeke replied with a smirk on his face and from under her veil, she rolled her eyes.

" Ava Brown, do you take Bryan Whyte as your lawfully wedded husband, to love and to hold until death do you part?".

She glanced at her father who had a bright smile on her face and turned towards the priest,

" yes I do" she replied in an uninterested tone. "

By the power vested on me, I now pronounce you husband and wife, you may now kiss the bride".

The whole place erupted in applause and shouts as Zeke slowly lifted her veil and hidden under that veil was an angel.

This was the first time he was seeing her in real life and the news didn't do justice to her beauty because she was way beyond perfect, if only she had a good attitude to compliment her beautiful features.

" You should skip," she warned glaring daggers at him.

" It would be awkward even in the sight of God" he replied and placed a gentle peck on her cheeks earning some murmurs from the audience, he wasn't planning on kissing his friend's wife either.

" I see you are a man with brains" she added and instead of Zeke to answer he just continued smile at her and if only she knew why.

" I am so happy for you my dear" her Dad said as he smiled at her before hugging her and she faked a smile back, she just wanted to get away from all the creepy people around.

" Where is Pam dad?" She asked.

" She left after the vows, they are busy setting up your reception" he answered and smiled at Zeke who smiled back.

" She is so dead" Ava gritted her teeth.

" Do you want anything ma'am?" Elora who was standing beside her the whole time asked but Ava nodded in the negative.

One after the other, her father and Bryan's father's business associates came to Congratulate them one after the other and she had to keep a weird smile on her face all the time.

" We should go for the reception" Mr Brown said turning to Zeke who nodded smiling and they walked off with the rest people threading behind them, a good show was about to start and he couldn't wait. Once outside the church, a Rolls-Royce boat tail was packed outside and had a band around it.

" This is too much dad" she said to him as she saw the car but he only smiled and urged them on.

" She gets everything even with her bad attitude" Zeke thought deep within himself but had a smile on his face all the time.

" Thanks father in law" Zeke added and Mr Brown smiled at him too but he earned a glare from his wife.

" You two should go first and we will follow behind" he urged and Ava turned towards Elora,

" Elora, go with us" Ava ordered and immediately her assistant boarded the car with them before zooming off but as usual, she sat farther away from him while he was concerned about the mask on his face, it was already making him uncomfortable.
