Her One and Only

We came home to be with mom and live with her so that I could take care of her once again. Now I had more hands on deck to help out besides my brother. Things would work like clock work as Conall can work from home or anywhere he choses.


As soon as we got home I put in my two weeks at my part time job since all my debts were paid off now and always will be from this day forward. I also started teaching at my new school in second grade. All my dreams coming true and I could not even believe it.

All my brothers came with me and I would have a dinner party of some sort to introduce them all to the family after the dust settled a little. Quinn, Conall and I had a lot to talk about the future of the house and mom. We were planning to buy the house and keep it for us for when we come back to visit we would have some place to stay instead of getting a hotel.

We got together and sat down with Quinn and went over quite few things that had happened when I was away. Conall was with me which this now affects him since he is part of the family and is mine.

We purchased a huge home and redoing it to our taste. It is all brick two story with three bedrooms up stairs two down stairs and one in the basement. Three of the bedrooms has and en-suit to them. There was a building out back that could be made into a guest house but we made that into our office. It was painted with both our favorite color blue, although we could not completely decide the exact color but compromised on a dark ocean blue with white trim and mahogany desks and comfy chairs.

Cassie came by to check the new digs out but when she laid on Mathe and he laid eyes on her that was the end. All Mathe could say was "Mate." She ran into Mathe's arms wrapped her legs his waist whilst they hugged and kissed each other endlessly. Dee could not believe this and her mouth was gapping like a fish trying to talk. But she was happy for her friend. But she worried about how Cassie would react when she new the truth of our kind. She just does not know or understand what is in store for her from this day forth.

Mathe came to Dee asking questions about her friend Cassie, what is she like, what does she like to do, you know the basic stuff. Dee looked at him smacked up side the head turned him around and pushed him towards Cassie.


"Why did you do that for Dee?" Mathe asks in a whinny voice.


"Hey she's your mate not mine. Yeah she's a friend but I am not the one who locked lips and stuck my tongue down her throat before introducing myself the first time I saw her. You need to go and ask her that shit yourself, now go." And with that she pushed him away towards her friend.

Cassie is 36 year old pastry chef for a well known high end restaurant downtown. She has dark brown hair with brilliant blue eyes and perfect lips that were soft and with a perfect cupids bow. Mathe could not keep his mind or eyes off her. Talk about your puppy love.

"Well, princess looks like our brother found his mate finally." Conall comes across the mind-link along with all the other brothers.

They all agreed that it was about time. Conall linked Mathe reminding him that he has to tell her about his dragon, Burlein. Cassie may not be able to handle all this mythical creatures that are real.

Quinn stopped by the house to see how things were going. I hated him, more like loathed him. Why? He's a jerk and a cheat how I know this well he's Cassie's ex-boyfriend and he's tried to hit on me until I blackened his eyes. Then he stopped coming around, but not today and I don't know why.

"What are you doing here Quinn?" Dee asks unpleasantly tone.

"I came to claim what is mine, what is it to you?" He hatefully retaliates back.

"Hey monkey, would you like some tea? Just made it." Mathe asks Cassie cheerfully. Neither of them see Quinn standing there watching and seething with each breath.


"Sure but no sugar, and what is it with calling me monkey?"

"You came running up to me, jumped in my arms and wrapped your entire body around mine like monkeys' do to their parents." Mathe is trying really hard not to laugh while talking to her.

"Clearly I did not wrap my entire body around yours. Just my legs and arms so there." She stuck her tongue out at him giggling.

Quinn hears a sick sounding masculine voice coming from the kitchen. Pushing his way through the door and making Dee stumble backwards a tad, he follows his beloveds voice floating from the kitchen.

She takes a drink of tea he made for her and it was amazing but she would not tell him that. As she drank it she moaned with such pleasure like she was getting ready to have an orgasms. She did not realize she was moaning but Mathe had a grin big as the Mississippi River is wide. His mind wandered thinking about bedding her and what it would be like with her under neath him. He shook that thought out of his mind when Dee came into the room.

Dee came inside and coughed to let them know they had company. Cassie turned and looked over her shoulder as Mathe had an arm wrapped around her waist. Dee looked at her then over behind her and nodded her head. Both look over their shoulders and see Quinn seething and his nostrils flailing like a bull in a rodeo. Cassie dropped her cup of hot tea making it go all over the place including herself. She could not speak and surely did not want to be alone with him. He's ruthless and a very horrible person.

When he walks in he is met with a growling Mathe and Conall approaching him. He all of a sudden feels uncomfortable but does not let it show on his face with a menacing smile curving at the corners of his lips while looking at Cassie

Mathe looks back to Cassie raises an eyebrow at her "A friend of yours?" He asks.

"My ex boyfriend and not a friend just ask him what Dee did to him."

Mathe looks at Dee cocking his brow a tad, "What? He deserves every little thing he gets." She told him.

"Hey you want to go out to eat tonight? Or may I cook you dinner?" He asks Cassie while standing in front of Quinn.


"Sure how should I dress? I don't want to be under or over dressed." She tells Mathe. 

"Pack an overnight as well I am going to surprise you." He tells her. He kissed her in front of their company and Dee could not help but laugh at Quinn.

"Let me show you the door Quinn, I told you once before you are not allowed around us ever again and yet here you are. I think you want another ass whopping don't you?" Dee causally asked him. She tried to show him out the door but he dodged her and walked around and went towards Cassie grabbing her by the arm and she turned and punched him.

"If I had any kind of powers I would kill you in one sweep you filthy pig." She spat at him. Mathe was impressed with her and new she would be a good fit with Burlein.

He could not wait to be with her tonight, alone and no family around. She asked him what they were really going to do and where were they going to stay at. He told her to go up to his room, shower and dress. What she's wearing is lying on his bed in a box and he'd be up shortly to get himself ready.

"Dee can you come and do my makeup and hair? Mathe is taking me out tonight and I am not sure where we are going? I am getting ready in his room?" asking Dee as they walk out of the room making sure Quinn leaves.

"Sure go get ready and text me when you done. I am going to go shower myself"

When Dee goes to Cassie she does her makeup in a neutral cool earth tones for the color palette, braids her hair in three different sections meeting at the lower part of her crown where she combined all three braids finishing the braid to one. Dee faced out the braids themselves and circling it into a bun at the nape of her head leaving some of the braid loose down her back. She put some little gems in her hair to match her dress.

"Done, now I am leaving so let me know if you need help putting it on."

"No stay while I go put it on incase I do need help, then you can leave."

Cassie takes the box into the bathroom and opens it, pulls the dress out and puts it on very carefully. She puts the box near the trash and walks out of the bathroom thanking God that Dee was still there to help her zip it up. When she was done she turned around to look at herself in the mirror. She gasped looking at herself and how she looked in the dress.

"You look gorgeous Cassie, it is perfect on you."

Thank you, is all she could say with no sound coming out of there throat, she was at awe It is Royal Blue with a v-neck from and low cut in the back with a silver diamond chain crossing the opening. Shoes are silver heals with diamonds across top of the foot and on part of the strap. She simply looked ravishingly gorgeous in her dress. Dee had to leave as she had tears of happiness in her eyes.

"Mathe I am ready, and you?" Cassie calls out to him. He got ready in Damhan's Evander's room which is downstairs too. He came out and took one look at her and his eyes could not stop looking at her. He made a motion with his finger for her to turn around. She turned but not slowly.

"Slowly please, I want to take a good look at you, all of you." She did as he asked.

"Hmmm I believe there is something missing." He tells her. He hands her a box and opens it for her. She looks at it and it is a diamond necklace with matching earrings. He puts on the necklace while she puts on the earrings.

"I can't accept these gems Mathe, they are too much, and simply gorgeous. They are breath taking." She is nearly out of breath when telling Mathe this.


"These are for you to keep my darling. The earrings represent the love I have for you and lets you know you are my life and the necklace represents you are my world. Wear these and know you will always hold my life and world here in you heart." He tells her with tears in his eyes and sees that she too has tears in hers. They wipe each other's tears away before leaving the bedroom.

When they go upstairs Dee is in the kitchen making super for the family and her friend Beth and Colby has come over too. Everyone looked at the beautiful couple and whistled. Abide them farewell to enjoy the evening out.

Mathe arranged for them to take their private jet to New York to one of his more elite restaurants for dinner where they had steak, potatoes, baked cauliflower and sugar snap peas, salad with homemade goats milk dressing. Cassie had a filet cooked medium and baked potato and salad. Mathe had steak and lobster which was cooked to perfection of course. He smiles at her very lovingly and can't help how his heart beats for her.

"That is amazing steak." She told him.


"Thank you very much. I thought you may like the steak here."

"The dinner is wonderful Mathe. I cannot believe you own this beautiful place. What else do you have planned?" She asks with a gleam in her eyes.

"Just wait my monkey, the night has only just begun. Just wait till you tastes the desert that will be coming out after dinner, it is amazing." He tells her with a wink.

"What is this? Cheese Cake?" She asks Mathe.


"Not just any Cheese Cake it is a very, very old family recipe handed down through thousands of years. And nothing has been changed at all. I use all natural ingredients flown in from Scotland that we raise on our farms back home." Cassie's mouth just drops open trying to say something but no words come out. She does not know what to say, as she takes a bit of the cheese cake.

"Oh my God this is amazing. This is better than what my mom and dad would make." She laughs as she tells him.

He is giddy like a school boy ogling at the love of his life. Enjoying every bit of the night. Once dinner was done, the got up and left. He took her by the hand guiding her out onto the street making a right. Walking towards an older building walking up the steps, he opens the door for her and guides her in.

When she looks at the decor inside she gasps and turns to him with wide eyes. They walked down the isle and took their seats. Mozart was playing in the foreground along with Bach and Handel. He took her to see the New York Symphony. When they were done he took her back to their home there in New York as it was too late to travel back to Missouri.

She could not believe how beautiful the boys home was and so much room. She could not understand why they all needed room and lots of it. It is only just five of them this is unbelievable she thought to herself. She also wondered if she was going to stay in his room with him tonight in the same bed. That made her super nervous since she never had sex before let alone kissing until earlier today with him.

Just the thought of him kissing her again made her weak in the knees and she had to get that thought out of her mind quickly. He was asking her a question and she did not hear him. She shook her head "sorry I did not hear what you were saying."

He chuckled at her, "I asked if you want to stay with me in my room or a separate room?"

"Oh, separate please, I am not ready to sleep with you yet if that is ok. I mean I don't want to upset you by my decision."

"No, we have the rest of our lives together. Besides this is just our first date and there is many more to have. I can never be upset about sleeping apart from you. But understand if something happens I will not hesitate to bring you to my bed to protect your innocence. Ok?"

"Yes, sir, got it. Now I am very tired can you show me a room I am staying in? Please?" She asked him as she yawns big. He shows her the room connected next to him so he could keep an eye on her. He'd feel much better if she would agree to sleep in the same room and same bed as him but that will have to wait for now.

They got ready for bed, he gave her one of his t-shirts to sleep in. She put it on and it swallowed her whole even though she is tall but he is taller and thrice the size of her. He's all muscle like the rest of the brothers. He tucked her in bed and kissed her sweet lips good night. She thanked him for a wonderful evening, yawned again and kissed one last time while hugging him before sleep over took her.

When Mathe put Cassie to bed he made sure all her windows were closed and locked, even though they were up on the top floor in the pent house. He wanted to make sure she was safe, sound and secure. He then went into all the other rooms to make sure all doors and windows were locked and secured for the night. He set the alarm and went up to his room slipped into his bed. He turned out his lights and went into dreamland just like he's beloved was doing right now.

It was about three am in the wee hours in the morning and Cassie got to use the bathroom. She did her biz washed her hands went back to bed. Just as she started to get settled in the alarm was going off, it was silent sending text to the brothers to let them know a potential break in was happening or it was a fluke. But this was no fluke. Cassie let out a blowing scream when some guy swung open the door to her bedroom and came sauntering over to her bed smelling of booze, cigarettes and sex. She got up as fast as she could and made her way to the other side of her bed to get out still screaming get out and who are you.

That is when Mathe came in turning on the lights and tackling the perpetrator to the floor. When he looked at him he knew immediately who it was and pulled him by the collar out the door and down the stairs without saying a word. He tied him up to a chair as tightly as he possibly could with cuffs made of silver which does not harm humans, only wolves and dragons. He ran back up the stairs grabbed Cassie and pulled her close to him. He held her and cooed in her hair near her ear telling her she was safe and no one was going to hurt her .

He guided her to his bedroom put her back to bed and told her to stay put and only answer the door when he knocked three times to let him back in. She agreed shaking but did as he asked. He grabbed his phone and ran downstairs after he closed and locked the door behind him.

He called Conall and told him what happened and what he was planning on doing. Champ was notified by one of the other brothers and came to the house to take the asshat back to his pack and put him underground in the lock up cells. Tomorrow he will be dealt with further once Evander and Lachlan come into town. He did ruff the ass up just a bit wanting answers but he never gave him any. Mathe told Champ to get him out of his house and he'll be there sometime tomorrow but he'd call and let him know what time.

He went back upstairs and knocked three times and Cassie ran to the door and let her love in. She looked at him and gasped as he had blood on his shirt. She started to look him over in worry and asking if he was hurt and where he was cut so she could doctor him up. She was scared for the first time in her life that she was smitten over was seriously hurt. He took off his shirt and went to the bathroom took a shower and came out with dripping wet hair and towel wrapped around his hip.

She took a look at him and licked her lips and had a little blush but was caught when he turned and looked at her. She did not hide her but she was getting hot and wanted him just like that. All wet and no towel but right now was not the time. She did walk up to him and put her arms around his waist looking at him thanking God that he was not hurt. She did have tears letting him know that she cared for him and that made his heart pound harder in his chest. He could hear how fast her heart was beating and he tried to calm her down.

He quickly put some boxers on and picked her up bridal style put her in his bed. He got in and pulled the covers over them and kept her in his embrace giving her kisses along her forehead, lips, nose, both eyes, and jaws. He whispered in her ear to sleep that nothing will ever happen to her again when he is near her. They both fell asleep for the rest of the night and slept in till noon the next day when both of their tummies were growling in hunger.

He was awake and watching her sleep. He did not move a muscle because he wanted to see her, no had to watch her sleep and take all of her in. He memorized every inch of her features and her light snores as she slept. He kissed the top of her nose and she swiped her nose with her hand like there was a bug trying to land there. He wanted to laugh at this sight but held it in. He kissed her lips ever so lightly then back to her nose and forehead again. She rubbed her face and scratched it then stretched and curled back into his arms. He held her close oh so very close. Put his lips close to her ears "I love you Cassie." with an ever so light whisper.

"Mhm, I love you too...." She said mumbling it back to him putting her arms around him giving him a kiss. She was not sure if she got his lips or jaw but she did not care as long as she is in his arms at that moment.

He looks at the time on his phone and sighs knowing that his brothers should be there any moment. He looked at his texts and they were on their way up. He text them back telling them they were still in bed and they would meet them downstairs for lunch. They were starving and to give them a few minutes to get ready. He was going to have to wake her up now unwilling to as he could stay in bed with her like this all day long just talk to her, get to know her and never let her go.

Cassie started to churning and waking up. She looked up at knight in shining armor "good morning," she said with a smile.

"Good Morning love did you sleep well after our little escaped of an unwanted guest last night?" He asked with a grin.

"Yes, it was the best sleep I ever had in my entire life. Well, except for when I was a baby." She said with her nose crinkled up. He started laughing and kissed her nose and smacked her on the ass told her to get up and get ready so they could get lunch as he was starving.
