Chapter 1
PAID MISSION: KILL THE ALPHA
HEZA'S POV
I am alive, but dead.
I can not feel happiness or sadness. I am numb, even pain does not want to be with me. They leave me. Alone. Broke. Suffering. The reason why I can not feel myself anymore.
But there was something I could do. I felt like killing someone when the curves in my lips formed. I had no idea what had happened in my past that kept replaying as my nightmare, but the scenes and images were blurred.
I was sure that was the horrible experience I had that I might not want to remember because it would give back all my emotions. I was good with myself now, no feelings at all.
No heart. No attachment to anyone. Just pure killing.
It was early morning when I went to the bathroom, undressed myself and went to the shower immediately. I wanted to avoid the reflection of myself in the mirror. I hated to see the scars in my body that made me like a monster. A beast who could easily cut the life of people, werewolves or even vampires. They did not deserve to be alive.
I let the water flow all over my body. I looked up and felt the coldness of the liquid, relaxing me, soothing my entire system. I cleaned my body with soap while my eyes were closed. I did not want to see the cause of my numbness.
When I was done, I decided to go in front of the mirror. I looked at my eyes, nose, and lips. That was perfectly fine, just do not look at the scar in my left lower corner lip. The memories of a guy forcing to kiss me popped up in my mind. His face was blurred and that made me more angry. I gritted my teeth and closed my fist. I was giggling in madness as I stared at the mirror intensely.
My gaze went down to my frontal view, my chest was fine, but my belly had a long cut of scar in a straight horizontal line. I had plenty of scars to show, but no one would see this, except me.
My curves were intact, attractive like a woman who was a virgin. I had no idea if I was still because my memories were unclear.
How would I know if someone takes advantage of me?
I just woke up with just the memory of my name. Heza. Everybody called me that. The only thing I did not forget.
I grabbed the towel and rubbed my long hair, down to my collar bone, chest, belly-all over my body. I dried myself before grabbing my underwear and wore it. I held the white sleeveless shirt, raised my arms, and put it on. I gasped at the end of my shirt and pulled it down. The next was my black pants and boots. When I was done, I looked at myself in the mirror. My hair was messy. I never combed my hair so what I did was fuse it with the black band. Then the last, I held my silky leather jacket. Take note of my sunglasses.
Done.
I moved out from my little house and ran faster, going to Draven. The man that paid me to kill someone. Today, he had a special task for me.
When I got into his place, everyone was looking at me. There was admiration to their faces, but no one wanted to block my way or greet me. They knew me.
"Don't come closer to her." I heard one of the guards warning his fellow guard.
"Why? She is freaking beautiful! I will just get her name and invite her for dinner. Is there a law saying no to-"
"She is a murderer! Before your hands touch her, you are running out of breath!"
I heard what they were talking about, but I ignored it. I hated wasting my time so I continued walking to the hallway. Draven's room was at the last door. I looked at the door for a second and then knock three times.
"Who's in there?"
"Heza."
The door immediately opened. I marched with my hips swaying. I never let him speak to grant me permission to sit. I sat on the couch recklessly and let it bounce. I crossed my thighs and stared at him with my eyeglasses.
"Hey, Darling. Can you take off your glasses so I can see your angelic face?" Draven moved closer to me and was about to kiss my lips when I grabbed his hands and twisted. "Ouch! Easy!"
"I hate wasting time. What do you need?"
"Fine, fine! Get off your hands! Ouch, it hurts!" He glared at me while his teeth were giggling.
I removed my hands and pushed him harder, which made him sit on the couch in front of me.
"I told you, Heza. You should use the potion to hide your red eyes during the day! You are stubborn. I will get you-" He was about to stand up when I stretched my feet, leaning on his thigh to make him stop standing up.
"Don't make me repeat what I said." I held my eyeglass and brought it to the table. I grabbed the hot tea that was now releasing a cloud of smoke in the air.
"Fine! I have one huge mission for you." The smirk grew on his lips. "You need to kill the alpha of the Bloodline Kingdom."
"Give me one reason why I should do that?" I sipped the cup of tea again. I could not feel the temperature of that.
"Because I will pay you handsome rewards. You can now move in bigger house and g-"
"Not satisfied." I stood up and was about to step, walking away from him when he held my hand. I looked coldly at his digits holding mine. He trembled in fear when he saw my emotion.
"Sorry." He raised up his palm, surrendering. "What am I saying is that I will pay you and don't worry... you are not killing innocent werewolf-"
"Werewolf?" My jaw clenched while my palm slowly closed in madness.
My anger for the blood of werewolves was high because in my dream they killed my family.
I sat again on the couch and stared at him with the fire in my eyes. "Tell me the details."
A deadly smirk formed on my lips. "I will kill him after the painful torture."
Chapter 2
ARE YOU READY TO DIE, ALPHA?
HEZA'S POV
I was informed by Draven that the alpha was not easy to kill. I needed to plan gently to be able to get into the Bloodline Kingdom. Good thing that they were accepting vampires who would willing to work for them. The vampires and werewolves were on good terms in their kingdom, but the only royal was the werewolves, which means they were still inequality or maybe there was something they were finding or looking at.
According to Draven, the Alpha wanted a mate of the blood of the vampire. He was trying to communicate with them to be fully united. Although it was not sure that the vampire and werewolf would create offspring to carry the throne, he was still risking the conjugation of the two kinds of being. Just to ensure peace between the two races.
After my visitation to Draven, I went home immediately to outline my plan. In the middle of my writing, I heard the door knock so I looked at the small hole in my door. I saw the messenger of the kingdom putting a scroll to my mailbox. When he walked away, I grabbed the scroll and walked to my couch again.
The scroll said that the alpha was looking for a woman, a porcelain virgin woman to be his queen tonight. The women must go to the kingdom with their chosen long dress. Actually, I had no idea why I had the capability to read. They say that if you grew up in a low-class vampire family, they had no opportunity to study, write or even read, but I could do those things that meant something and I would find out when my memory came back.
I could pretend that I was a virgin to have the chance to be closer to the alpha, but I had a problem, the woman must have no scars, no bruises, or any mark of brutality in the past. She should be pure, gentle, calm in any aspects, beautiful and other standards that were not on me.
How can I be calm? That was not in my vocabulary, but I was a good pretender. I could fake my attitude. In terms of beauty, he might like me. The problem was my scars, but I would try.
"Let's start the mission." There was no emotion on my face. As in nothing. I forgot how to smile, I could smirk, but that was not a good sign.
I went to the market to buy a long dress. I only have coins so I needed to save my money. The mission would take long, I had no food for the next incoming months.
I walked towards the squabbling people, selling their goods such as apples, oranges, cabbage, carrots, and many more. That was not my purpose for going here. By the way, I used the potion of Draven to make my eyes look black during the day. People would scream if they saw the vampires in me. That was a good choice.
I looked up when I saw the 'Clothing Boutique.' Maybe this one might help me. I stepped in the glass door. I was about to push it harder when I realized that I needed to be gentle, I might have broken it.
"Hi, Miss. How can I help you?" A woman was smiling at me widely.
"Get me a dress. The cheap one." I just crossed my arms and stared at her. She looked terrified so I fixed the way I looked at her, maybe I was doing the same glare again to the enemy. I might change that look first.
She immediately grabbed something and went back. She handed me a light blue long gown dress. "This will suit the color of your skin. Look at the hem ut us made up of-"
"How much?"
"Eight hundred coins."
"I said the cheap one? Didn't I?"
"I am sorry this is the-" I glared at him with the deadliest stare ever, that was why she stopped talking while body was shaking. "Eighty coins."
"Good." I gave her the coins and handed the dress. I did not let her put it in the paper bag or what. I walked out of the noisy market.
After a few hours of fixing myself, not really fixed, but that was fine. I looked innocent. Except for my exposed back that had scars. The important thing was going into the Bloodline Kingdom. I should finish the mission tonight or else, I might die of hunger.
I waited for the tick of the clock to hit the eight in the evening and when it did, I used my power to travel faster going to the kingdom. I would never use a carriage that was too girly and I had no money.
There were many guards checking on the girl before letting them in. I was just a bit unconfident because they were looking at the skin. I just needed a tactic for them not to reject me. I saw one of the women rejected because of her small bruise on the back of his hand.
What more to my back?
When I was about to reach the first line who would be checking, one of the maids ordered the guard to make it fast because the alpha was annoyed, they were taking long, and many girls were on the line.
I got a sigh of relief when they were allowed to enter. My heart skipped a beat when one of the guards held my arms.
"You are..." His mouth was barely opened while his eyes were glued on me.
I gritted my teeth, but I did not want him to notice that. I did not want to create a scene. He needed to let me in or he would die!
"You are so beautiful." He smiled at me before guiding me to step inside. I thought he saw the scars on my back.
We waited for about a minute before they ordered us to go in the room with a batch of five women. It has been ten minutes before my turn to go there.
My emotions were cold as I listened to one of the Betas, explaining everything we wanted to know.
"My name is Eliza, one of the betas. Reminder everyone that it's not easy to be part of this program. You need to face battles before being a queen. The first step is the judgement of the alpha with your features that's why make sure that you wear your beautiful smile! Good luck!"
After the beta's speech, they let us fall in line. I looked my head up when I felt that someone was looking at me. And there he was, the alpha was staring at my face with a bright expression. He was as handsomely perfect as I never expected, especially when he was sitting on his throne while his hands were leaning on both sides of the chair. He had brown eyes that were sparkling, his nose was well formed, molded by a great sculpture and his lips were kissable. No matter how good he was in my eyes, his destiny in my hand would never be flipped.
He never removed his stare on me even a second, that was why I felt like this mission would be easy.
My lips gradually formed a smirk. I was shocked when his lips created a wide nice looking smile, but that did not change my plan.
Are you ready to die, Alpha?
Chapter 3
ARE YOU A ROYAL?
HEZA'S POV
"Everyone!" The beta was calling the attention of all of us again. "You are going to enter that room," she pointed at the tribal red room, "with the Alpha. One by one, if the guard called your name. It's your turn."
The guards guided us to sit down on the luxurious red couch. My usual no emotion was making the guard wrinkled their forehead. Maybe they were curious why I had no smile on my lips like the other girls.
When the guard called one of the girls, the alpha stood up, before he walked to the red room, he glimpsed back at me. It seemed like I got the attention of the alpha.
I watched him walking away, going to the room with the girl. I was just wondering what would happen to the red room? He would check the feature? It was obviously seen in the face of the girl was attractive or charming unless-
Unless we are going to undress?
I had no idea why in my entire life of living, I felt the nervousness in my chest, the reckless pounding of my heart. Since I woke with just my name, no one could touch me or look at my nudity because I hated them seeing my scars. The memories of my past.
"Hi?"
The woman beside me greeted me. I did not even give an effort to look at her. I ignored her as if I did not hear anything.
"I saw your back."
That made my eyes slightly widened, but I could not feel the fear in my system. It was not a problem if she saw or what. The Alpha would decide if I would be included in the ladies who would fight for the crown. It was not my intention anymore, but if I would be a queen, I could find the murderers of my family even though I could not remember. For now, let me flip my plan a bit. Killing an Alpha would not satisfy me, I could use him to be powerful.
"I think you don't want to talk about your back, but I was just curious? What happened to you?" This woman did not know that I hated the noise, especially when it came from the blabby mouth of hers. "Yeah, I am not in my place to ask you-ahm, maybe I can help you? I came from one of the noblest family, I can tell my father to investigate about-"
"No." This was the first time that someone cared about me, offered me help. It was obvious in her expression that she was pitying me that made my blood boil. I was strong to take care of myself and do my plans on my own. I did not need anyone.
"Are you sure?" She touched my shoulder and it shocked me, no one dared to touch me. I avoided myself to kick, punch or twist her hands. That would create a huge scene if that had happened.
"You can trust a stranger. If the time comes that you change your mind, I am here." She stretched her hand and offered me her open palm. "My name is Fajra."
I just stared at her hands for a second. I had no plan to grab it.
Because of the freezing of his hand that was in the air, she held my hands and shook it. "What's your name?"
I opened my mouth and was about to speak, but I doubted. It was difficult for me to trust anyone because I had no idea who the opponent was. Sometimes I was thinking that the enemies were surrounding me and one of these days, they stabbed me in the back. That was an annoying feeling. It felt like finding the unknown puzzle of my life, but I did not know where to start, where to go.
"Yeah, I know..." She moved her head from up and down, she made a realization. "It's hard to trust anyone? Right? Okay." A curve formed on her lips, giving me a beautiful angelic smile. How I would wish that thing was easy to do. Smiling like you were trying to be friends with anyone, but for me that expression was strange.
So strange.
"I will just call you Scar, if you don't mind." She was now looking at the red room door. "I am not degrading you because you have a scar. I idolize you instead, for being one of the strongest people I have ever met."
"Heza." The guard called me, that was why I stood up. I looked down to Fajra, she was smiling like an angel.
She mouthed. "Good luck."
"You, too." I said those words unconsciously. I admitted that she got a little of my trust. By just saying a thing that other people never said to me. By telling me something that could warm and soothe my cold heart.
Once again, I gazed back at her. There was an urge for me to smile, but my mouth did not cooperate. The only thing that made the curve in my lips formed was when I had to kill someone. That was not a smile though, it was a smirk.
"This way, Madame." The guard opened the door.
The view inside revealed to me. My forehead wrinkled as my heart beat fast and recklessly. My brain was telling me I knew this place, but I did not know where I saw it. There was a master's bed with a white sheet. The walls were red and organized nicely. There were three red couches with feather-like coverings.
"This is a sacred place. The royals are choosing for their brides in this room."
I gazed at my side where the Alpha was sitting on the exclusive chair of the royal. It was made up of soft foam with the covering of red silky smooth cloth.
"You can ask me anything." A wide smile formed on his lips, even his eyes were smiling at me. I did not expect that the Alpha was friendly, unlike the other kings of other kingdoms.
A few seconds of silence, I was just standing in front of him while he was sitting, studying every detail of my face.
I heard his sigh of disbelief. "Didn't you know how to respect the royal family?"
My lips barely opened. I forgot to bow at him, so I did, but no way, I would not apologize.
"I was looking at you in there. You are gazing back at me directly without fear. You are the only one who can eye on me like that." He straightly looked at my eyes. I did not avert my eyes, I fought his gaze.
"Are you a royal?"
