Sylvia's P. O. V
Class was going on and everyone seemed to be paying attention to what the teacher was saying. Well... Everyone except me. It was much better to sit down, all starry eyed and daydream about him.
Him?
Who's him? Alex Jones, the only guy who could put most Hollywood celebrities to shame with just handsome looks. It's hard sometimes to think he's just an highschool sophomore. That dude belongs on the runway. Although he wasn't in school today, I was quite content staring at his empty seat, hands on my chin, giggling to myself as I daydreamt about him being my boyfriend.
Out of the blue, an idea popped into my head and I brought out my special notepad, tearing a piece out and began writing a love letter, with hopes delivering it to his locker later in the day. Something I've tried to do in the past but it always proved unsuccessful.
With a dreamy smile plastered to my face, I filled the paper up and made to write his name when it got swiped from underneath me.
" And what are you doing?" A voice asked, sending chills down my spine. My eyes shot up and I gasped, widening my eyes. Oh no.
" Oh.... It's a love letter!" Tasha announced and the entire class turned to my direction. All the color drained from my face and I bit my lips so badly it could've bled, my heartbeat racing.
"N-no it's not." I stuttered.
" Really? Who it's for? "
" N-no one? " I muttered, hoping I sounded convincing. Tasha raised her brows before snickering. I was holding my pen very tightly, my knuckles were showing.
" And who would believe you?" She asked no one in particular, then walked closer to me till I could almost smell her bubble gum breath on me.
" You had better tell me who owns it or I'm going to read it for the entire class to hear! " She threatened and I widened my eyes in fear. There's no way I'm saying this letter is for Alex Jones, the most handsome and popular guy in Rocksville who is also her boyfriend! That's like me signing for a death sentence!
I looked around till I spotted someone who seemed uninterested with what was going on around him. His head bowed and focused on the book he was reading, he looked out of place in this room. I don't even think I've seen him before.
" It's for him!" I announced and everyone gasped, he too raised his head from the book he was reading. Tasha had the look of confusion on her face.
" This letter.... Is for him?" She asked and I quickly nodded.
" Do I believe you? No." She said and made to read the contents of the letter. I panicked and snatched the letter from her.
" Please believe me... It's really for him."
" Well then, prove it! " She ordered. I stood up from my feet and hurried to his side, placing the letter on his table. He looked at me, then at the paper and tried passing it back to me but I quickly stopped him, my eyes pleading. Eventually he gave up and for added effect, gave him a quick kiss. Another gasp erupted from the class and he stared at me gobsmacked. Tasha glared at me, disappointed at the fact that she wouldn't be able to humiliate me any further. She gave me an ' i'll get you look' before sashaying back to her seat which was closest to Alex. I let out a sigh before dragging myself to mine and gently lowering myself into it.
Phew! That was close.

It was break and I hurried out of class before Tasha and her gang had the chance to pick on me again. Getting to my locker, I quickly placed my books in it and locked it securely. I was really hungry but I didn't feel like going to the cafeteria just yet. I wanted to find the guy who helped me earlier, probably to thank him and to tell him what happened earlier wasn't meant for him. He should be in the cafeteria, I guessed and went in that direction.
A few glances at the cafeteria and I noticed he wasn't there. This is weird, where could he be? I left the place and began searching the entire school. Eventually I found him at the library, staring out the window, probably lost in thought. I gulped and brushing my bangs away from my face, threading softly to his side.
I cleared my throat. " Uhmm... Hi." I greeted. Turning away from the window, his gaze settled on me. At first he seemed confused but realisation soon dawned on his face.
" Hey." He replied almost inaudibly and looked away again. I took in a deep breath and continued.
" Sorry for interrupting you." I said, shuffling my feet. " I just wanted to say I'm..."
" Nevermind." He muttered, cutting me off. What? Guessing he must've misunderstood me, I tried explaining myself again.
" N-no, it's not what you think. I actually want to..."
" I said, nevermind." He repeated, his voice louder this time. I didn't know what to say a few seconds so I just kept staring at him.
Eventually he let out a sigh and stepped away from the window. Sparing me glance, he made to say something but eventually stopped and walked away, leaving me there. I watched him go.
This guy though.... What's up with him??
(Not after what happened...)

We closed from school and I walked all the way home. Knocking on the door bell, I waited till I heard my mom's voice call me before walking in.
" Welcome dear." She greeted from the kitchen.
" Good evening mom. " I greeted as I made my way there.
" Going somewhere?" I asked, seeing her pack her home made sweaters, it was what she sold for a living.
" Yeah... A client just called me and said she needed some of them, once I'm done here, I'm off to her place. " She replied as she glanced up at me, furrowing her brows.
" Are you okay honey? You look kind of weird."
" Uhn?... Yeah am fine, of course I'm fine. " I replied, pushing my bangs away from my face.
" You sure? "
" Totally. Although school was kind of tough, it's nothing I can't handle. "
" Okay... If you say so. " My mom said, putting the sweaters in a paper bag. " I'll be leaving now. Dinner is in the warmer, put it in the microwave once you're ready to eat."
" Yes mum. Bye mom. "
" Okay dear. " Giving me a quick kiss on the cheeks, she walked out of the house. I locked the door behind her and trudged upstairs to my room. Slumping to the bed, I let out a big sigh. I felt invalid.
Incidents of today replayed in my head and I cringed. Then I remembered that guy who indirectly helped me out.
I have to admit, he's kind of mysterious.

Patrick Jamison arrived home, alighting from his car. His mom coming out to meet him on the way, they exchange greetings.
" Patrick?" She called.
" Yes mum."
" We'll be receiving guests this evening. I want you to be prepared. You know that family I talked to you about, they'll be visiting today."
With a quick glance at his mom, he shrugs.
" Okay Mom." He replies.
" Great." She says, smiling up at him. He shrugs and she leaves him. Ignoring everyone else, he makes his way to his room. Flinging and letting it land carelessly on the floor, he let out a sigh. Today had been uneventful as always, except for that slight intrusion from that girl. Speaking of which, he still had the letter from her. Not bothering to check it, he placed on his dressing table and went into the bathroom to have a quick shower.
Then he'll rest before he goes down for dinner.
.
.
.
A knock sounded on the door and a maid walked in.
" Sir Patrick, dinner is ready. Madam said I should call you down"
Looking up from the computer he was working on, he nods slightly.
" Okay... Tell her I'll be down in a minute."
" Yes sir." She answers and closes the door behind her. Closing his laptop,he stands up and walks out of his room. Descending form the stairs he sees his family and the guests already seated at the dining table discussing.
" Oh.... There he is!" His mom announces sighting. " Mr Roberts, meet my son Patrick. Patrick say hello...oh and that's his daughter Goldie."
" Good evening." Patrick greets curtly, bowing slightly. Mr Roberts beams and turns to his mom.
" He's such an handsome young man. What a great kid you've got there Mrs Patrick."
" Oh... don't flatter me." She coes, grinning. Patrick sits down and Goldie turns to him, smiling.
" Hi am Goldie. Nice to meet you." She continues, stretching her hand for a shake. Patrick ignores it and faces ahead, making Goldie feel hurt. His mom sees this and scolds him with yet eyes but he just looks away. Dinner continued and soon there are through. The older people move to the living room to continue discussing, leaving only Patrick and Goldie.
In a bid to start up a conversation, his mom walks up to them.
" Patrick, why don't you show Goldie around while we discuss?" She suggests.
" Whatever..." He mutters.
His mom frowns and the walks over to Goldie.
" Goldie?"
" Ma'am?"
" Why don't you tag along with Patrick for a while, he'll be showing you around."
" Uh.... Okay."
To Patrick she whispers furiously, " be nice!"
Faking a smile, he turns to Goldie and requests to show her around in which she happily agrees. They check various places in the house and finally arrive at the garden when Patrick takes a seat on one of the chairs, with Goldie taking a place beside him. Silence reigns for a while until Goldie speaks up.
" How long have you been here?"
" Six months."
" Six months? Wow, that's not so long. I've lived here all my life." She says, turning to face him, a radiant smile on her face.
" Hmm.." he mumbles, taking Goldie by surprise. It's obvious she wants more than a monosyllabic reply from him. Clinging closer to him, she initiates another conversation.
" Do you have a girlfriend?" She asks again. Patrick moves further away from her, staring at the ahead. Noticing that Patrick won't give her any reply, she sighs in disappointment.
" Are you always like this?" She asks, her voice breaking. He glances at her only for a moment before looking away again.
" So you won't talk huh?" She asks again, her voice slightly raised. Suddenly gaining interest with the Firefly in front of him, he catches it and begins to observe it.
" Can you just leave me alone?" He calmly says but you could feel the undercurrent of annoyance underneath. Seeing that she's been totally ignored by him, she stands up angrily, having had enough.
" That's it! I'm leaving!" And runs out from the garden. Patrick barely moves.
The sound of approaching footsteps alert him and he looks up, it's his mom.
" I just saw Goldie running off.... With tears in her eyes. We're you mean towards her?"
" I didn't do anything mom." He replies sullenly.
" Let me guess, you barely said a word to her the entire time?"
" Maybe..."
" Patrick! When did you begin like this!? The Patrick I know was ever so eager to meet new people but ever since we've moved here, you've just been all to yourself. What's wrong?"
Patrick pressed his lips together, refusing to say anything. It was much better to sit and wait it all out.
" I can't believe you anymore. I almost don't recognize my own son again." She say, letting out an exasperated sigh. Soon she leaves him, going the same way she came.

Sure that my mom had gone and I was left alone, I let out a sigh. She's right, I never used to be like this. If only she knew.
Running my hands through my hair, I mumble to myself.
" I also didn't plan to be like this mom, but not after what happened..." I say trailing off, tears blurring my sight as my hands and feet go cold in remembrance.
Tasha's P. O. V
After dressing up for school, I brought out my phone and made to call Alex, my boyfriend. It ranged a few times before he finally picked up.
📞 Hello honey, good morning."greeted cheerfully.
📞 Good morning, he muttered sleepily.
📞 You're still in bed? Gosh Alex, you'll be late for school!
📞 I'm up now, your call woke me up.
📞oh... That's good. Alex, why didn't you come to school yesterday. I missed you, I complained pouting even though he couldn't see me.
📞 I had to go somewhere with my step... I mean dad. But I'll come today.
📞 Really? Great,then I'll be expecting you.
📞 And I'll be seeing you soon, good bye.
📞 Bye too, see you soon.
And with that, I hung up smiling sheepishly to myself. Placing my books in my bag, I walked out of my room to have my breakfast. One of the maids came to meet me.
" Mina, where are my parents?" I asked when I saw the dining was empty.
" They went out early miss, they left a note" she said and passed my a folded letter. I frowned as I collected it from her. Always going out on business trips, sometimes I wonder if they even remember that they have a daughter.
" Miss Tasha, someone is out there to see you." She said.
" Who is it?"
" Linda."
" Linda? Okay, send her in." I said and went over to seat on the dining table to have my breakfast. I heard the sounds of approaching and sure enough it was Linda.
" Good morning baby girl." She greeted as she came to sit beside me.
" Good morning." I greeted, giving her a tight lipped smiled
" Uhn? What's up with the attitude? " she asked, noticing my demeanor.
" It's nothing serious." I replied. " Why the early visit? "
" I wanted to check up on my best friend and to ask if you've checked up on Alex. "
" Well as you can see.. " I began taking a bite from my waffles " I am good and as for my boyfriend, he's also good. He'll be coming to school today. " I said, a smile creeping up to my face.
" That's good to know. You know the amount of work you had to do just to make him notice you. "
" I know right? Which is why I won't be letting any other girl around breathing space with me. If they try they are going hear it from me. "
" That's true.... Which reminds me, what about that girl, Sylvia. I heard you wanted to scold her"
" Oh yes! " I said snapping my fingers, " Can you believe it? She was writing a love letter in class. Like, who does that in this time and age? "
" Really? " Linda asked, leaning forward, excitement in her eyes. " Who was it for?"
" That I don't know.... She didn't write who it's for. But I'm guessing it's for Alex. It's not the first time she's gotten lost just ogling at him. I've been observing her very closely. "
" Ewww, aren't you going to do anything about it? "
" I will, I just need to make sure my suspicions are correct. If they are, I will not hesitate to unleash on her. Nobody touches my man. " I said sternly. Linda smirked.
" That's my girl."

I arrived at school, feeling very tired. I didn't get enough sleep last night and it was beginning to take it's toll on me. Brushing my bangs away from my face, I made my way to my locker. As usual, everyone stares were on me, causing me to bend my end to avoid eye contact. In the process I bumped into someone.
" I'm so sorry..." I apologized but the person wasn't having any of it.
" Out of my way you punk!" He threw at me, causing me to flinch.
" I'm really sorry. " I apologized again and hurried to my locker. While packing my books, I noticed that the murmurs in the school corridor got louder. There was only one person who could cause this kind of effect. Alex Jones. Just thinking about him made me smile. I quickly closed my locker so I could catch a glimpse of him.
There he was, in all his glory. Beautiful sculpted body that the school uniform did nothing to hide, super sharp jawline and most beautiful blue-green eyes I've ever seen, not to mention his million dollar smile. You could tell all the girls in the hallway we're swooning cause you could hear their 'awws', me included.
Suddenly he looked in my direction and I caught his gaze for a split second before he got distracted by Tasha who immediately rushed to him, kissing him. I was elated that he finally noticed me even though it was only for a split second, mad at Tasha for interrupting and jealous that she could do those things without a problem because she was his girlfriend.
Tasha caught me staring and glared at me, forcing m to get myself together. Once I was through with what u wanted to do in my locker, I hurried away from there to my class. I arrived at my seat and was met with another surprise.
The love letter I had given Patrick was back on my table, unopened but there was no sign of Patrick. When could he have dropped this and without anyone noticing? Well I better keep this before Tasha and her crew walk in and snatch it from me again. Once bitten, twice shy they say.

After the first period, I was on my way to my next class when a hand pulled me to an empty hallway. I almost lost balance and fell on the floor but I quickly steadied myself. Sounds of suppressed giggles arose around me as I regained my balance. I looked up and gulped, all the blood draining from my face.
It was Tasha and her gang this time around. Oh God why me?
" hello there... " Tasha greeted, twirling my hair. I wanted to slap her hands off but I knew better than that.
"W-what do you want?" I stuttered, my voice coming squeaky. Tasha snickered.
" Oh nothing... We just wanted to say hello."
" Then... Hi. " I replied and made to dash out of the room but the pulled me back, slamming me to the wall, it knocked the breath right out of me.
" Where do you think you're going!?" Tasha asked, her voice going a million degrees colder. I swallowed. She walked closer to me till there was no space between us, her eyes blazing. I cowered like a rat.
" The letter that you wrote, who is it for?"
" Uhmm... P-patrick of course. " I muttered.
" Liar! I know you're lying! " She stated as she pulled my hair, making me wince in pain.
" I-i'm saying the truth!"
" Shut up!" She ordered and I zipped my mouth shut. " Now listen to me, if the letter is truly for Patrick, I want to see signs that you really wrote it for him, by being closer to him and making sure he makes you his girlfriend. Otherwise if I find out that it's for someone else... I'll have you humiliated in front of everyone in the school. Do you understand? "
I nodded. She pushed me to the wall again.
" I said, do you understand? "
" Yes, yes. I do."
" Good girl..." She muttered and left, her girlfriends laughing and hailing her. I let out the breath I didn't know it was holding.
As an afterthought, Tasha stopped and turned back and since I wasn't expecting it, pushed me. I fell flat on the floor.
" Serves you right." She taunted and then walked away with her friends. I fisted my hands and groaned, tears stinging my eyes. Why does this always have to happen to me?
Very slowly, I picked myself up and dusted my clothes. Remembering her threats, I groaned loudly. Things just went from bad to worse.
I was about to start crying when someone cleared his throat beside me, startling me.
" Hey, you okay?" The person asked and I looked up. I couldn't believe my eyes.
What!?
Alex Jones!?
