~AVA~
"Don't let me fall Matt! I don't wanna die!" I pleaded, desperately clinging on to my husband's arm, my feet swinging in the air. My heart was beating wildly in my chest and the thought of falling from this height struck me. I would die from this height.
All of a sudden, she appeared by his side and touched his arm slightly. My eyes watched in horror as a wicked smile crossed her lips. Her eyes shine in mischief.
"I hope you and your baby have a nice life in hell.." She muttered, a dark gaze settled on her face.
I diverted my gaze to my husband, I shook my head in despair trying to change his mind and to my amazement, he pulled his hands off. My heart almost snapped out of my chest as I felt my body falling freely in the air, their image getting farther and farther until I hit the hard ground.
At the bone crushing impact, I felt a jab in my baby bump, it was then I felt a sharp and painful nerve cutting slice hitting my belly, realizing it was a knife Agnes threw from that height. I was sprawled on the floor in misery gagging in my own blood.
My eyes were slightly open and I could see them staring at me from the terrace, their image started getting blurry until I was consumed by the darkness and the sound of their laughter gnawing in the dark.
***Half an hour ago****
"Your baby girl looks healthy and excited to arrive next Thursday.." The redhead woman smiled as she stretched an envelope to the lady sitting before her desk.
Ava smiled as she accepted the envelope from the doctor, her eyes had a radiant sparkle in them. In less than a week, she'll finally hold her little one in her arms.
"Thanks Doctor. I'll take my leave now" She announced to the doctor before leaving.
All throughout the way home, her heart didn't stop beating fast, her skin crawled with excitement, she couldn't wait to share the news to Matt, her husband.
He has also been looking forward to the day he'll hold his little daughter in his arms.
The driver pulled over into the driveway, he stepped out of the grey maybach and walked to the other side to help the heavily pregnant lady out of the car.
Ava's husband Matt, came from a line of a successful and wealthy family. The Manchester's, his mother was the only daughter of her family and eventually she got married to her husband who was also rich but not as wealthy as the Manchester's.
The white duplex stood rigidly on her path casting a bright glow over the surrounding area, it was their wedding gift from Matt's grandfather.
Ava walked into the broad living room, everywhere was awfully silent. She knew Matt and his cousin sister, Agnes were home. Matt had offered to work from home after she reached eight months because he didn't want to let her off his sight.
"Where is he when you need him the most?" She silently grumbled beneath her breath as she climbed the spiral stairs leading up to the rooms.
Not too long, she arrived at the passage way leading to his study, it was quiet and lonely, her thin brows furrowed slightly.
Where could they be at the moment?
Suddenly, she heard a small noise coming from one of the doors up ahead. Her feet moved across the floor walking to the last door in the hallway, that was her husband's study.
The door was slightly ajar, from the little crack opening she could see Agnes sitting on Matt's desk, her two legs widely spread apart and in between, was her husband's head.
The sound she heard came again from Agnes, it was a moan of pleasure! Her eyes grew large at the formidable sight. That was his cousin sister!
Her heart squeezed in pain, it felt like millions of needles were being poked into her chest at the same time. Ava didn't realize that she was crying until a teardrop rolled off her eyes and dropped to her left foot.
"Ah! Right there Matt!" Agnes moaned throwing her head backwards.
The moans and little passionate cries from Agnes made her gag. She couldn't believe what was happening right before her eyes, her hand went to her belly the moment she felt her little one move abruptly.
A loud gasp left her lips which immediately had Matt and Agnes snapping their heads to the door. They saw her standing there with wet eyes through the cracks.
"Ava" Matt called out in surprise as he stepped away from Agnes, he wiped his mouth with the back of his palm and opened the door fully.
The pain and hurt in Ava's eyes worsened when he tried to touch her with his sinful hands, she took a step back avoiding his touch.
"Ava I can explain-
Matt's face fell to the other side after Ava's hand met his cheek. Her body was shaking in anger the longer she stared at him.
"Explain what? Matt! You were eating up your cousin sister?!"
The door opened wider and the blonde with sharp Jade eyes stepped out, she adjusted her black mini skirt paired with a see through white crop top. Her red bra and boobs were on full display.
"What the actual hell do you think is wrong with you Ava? You could have knocked on the door like a normal person other than frolicking around with your pot belly-
Ava's anger rose at Agnes words, she didn't wait back before striking the latter hard on her face, what she didn't expect was for Agnes to reciprocate immediately.
Ava lost her footing and fell to the ground, a low hiss leaving her lips at the impact, her hand fell on her big baby bump.
"I didn't realize how stupid you are Ava. Sooner or later you were bound to find out about Matt and I, but at what cost?" Agnes red lips puckered into a devilish and demonic grin.
Ava's lips parted in shock, she diverted her gaze to her husband hoping he'd say something but he just stood there looking down at her like she was a piece of shit.
She desperately wanted him to rebuke Agnes words, how could she have turned a blind eye to what was going on under her roof?
"Just shut up!" Ava fired. She slowly helped herself to her feet before turning to Agnes once more. "Matt and I are expecting our first baby, he loves me! Tell her, Matt!"
"Sadly this game has to end Ava, you are of no use to me and neither is that bastard in your womb. We've got all we wanted from you which is the massive inheritance your grandfather left for you-
Ava was about to rebuke his words but immediately, she recalled the day he made her sign some papers claiming it was a transfer share document for their unborn baby..
"But that was for our baby! Everything belongs to our baby!" Ava cried out.
"What baby?" A wicked grin appeared on Agnes face when she stared at Ava's baby bump. "Yes Ava, everything belongs to your baby" She whispered softly. "if only it's alive.." She continued with a wicked grin on her red lips.
A look of horror crossed Ava's face, she took a step back when she noticed Agnes eyes was focused on her baby bump. She shook her head slowly with her hand over her belly.
"No!" she yelled back at Agnes while taking a step back.
"Run.." Agnes said in a whisper. "Run Ava! Save your baby.."
Ava's breath hitched, she turned around immediately and began racing down the passage. She could hear the footsteps behind her getting closer.
She couldn't run faster because of her big bump but she ran like any mother would. Her baby's father might be a despicable person but her baby wasn't.
It was until she got to the terrace she realized that there was nowhere to run anymore. Her eyes darted around, no guardrails to guard the terrace. The wind was chilly and the sun was at its peak shining brightly.
The two finally appeared walking slowly to her, her face was all sweaty from running and her belly hurt. Ava was short of breath, she continued backing away while they drew nearer like the beast they were.
"I gave you a headstart but once again you proved to be foolish by choosing to run here instead.."
Ava took a glance back and nearly had a heart attack after seeing how close she was to the edge. Matt and Agnes were standing three steps away from her.
"Please don't. For my baby's sake-
Her words were caught short when she felt the liquid flowing out of her. Her eyes went down only to realize that her water broke.
"Argh!" She screamed in pain.
"I won't let you give birth to that bastard.."
Ava didn't get the time to process Agnes words, all she felt was a push to her shoulder which had her falling backwards. Her hands quickly caught up to the decking but she had a hard time holding up.
Her legs were swinging on air. The realization struck her and her cries for help fell on deaf ears.
"Matt! Don't let our baby suffer for something that we can fix.." She pleaded tearfully.
Matt rushed to the edge, he noticed her grip was slipping and when it finally slipped, he caught her by her wrist while she dangled and panicked on the air.
"Don't let me fall Matt! I don't wanna die!"
Beep! Beep! Beep!
The machines in the operating theatre kept ringing on and on. The group of surgeons were desperately trying to save the life of the mother and child on the operating table but neither of the two seemed to respond to any treatment.
Meanwhile outside the theatre, Matt and Agnes sat on a bench. They tapped their foot impatiently on the floor waiting eagerly for the bad news to be announced to them.
"Cockroach! How long will it take for her to die?!" Agnes fired irritably.
Ava already knows too much and needs to die for their plans to succeed. They wouldn't have brought her to the hospital to get treatment if not for the servants who called the ambulance after seeing Ava covered in a pool of her own blood.
Due to the stab on Ava's baby bump, the hospital strictly told them to involve the cops before they could commence the operation on Ava, otherwise they'd have written it off as an accidental fall.
They didn't bother involving the Cops since they both want Ava dead but surprisingly, she was receiving treatment.
After an hour of waiting for the operation to be over, the surgeon stepped out with a gloomy expression on his face, he pulled off his nose mask gently and sighed hard.
"I'm sorry we couldn't save both mother and child. We tried our best.."

A week later..
"She was like the big sister I never had.." Agnes said in-between sobs dabbing the white handkerchief under her eyelids. She was dressed in an off shoulder black ball gown coupled with black elbow length gloves.
Over her head was a large black fascinator, her makeup still intact despite all tears she shed. Matt reached his hand gently to her shoulder, he wasn't left out in the act either.
The cemetery loomed with darkness as the brown coffin was lowered to the six feet grave. On the headstone was Ava's name boldly written on it.
Everyone in the cemetery were all moody just like the hollow screams of their dark clothes. Ava was almost loved by all or that's what they all made it seemed like.
"How am I supposed to live without her by my side? I curse you death for taking my beloved away from me!" Matt added.
At a distance was a silhouette dressed in all white overlooking everything going on from the corner. The pair of grey eyes roamed everyone's sad faces, their act was almost convincing that he had a hard time knowing who was hiding behind a mask.
One of the mourners was Ava's murderer. Just then, he caught sight of Agnes. His sharp grey eyes narrowed down at her. He hadn't seen or heard of her before but she was the one crying the most and also overly dressed for the burial.
"Bingo".
Suddenly, Agnes had a feeling of being watched, she snapped her head to the left only to see a figure in white for a second and after she blinked, the figure was gone.
She took a glance around just to be sure she wasn't the only one who saw the tall figure. This was a burial, everyone was supposed to be sad or pretend to be until it was over. But that person was on all white.
"I'll be back Matt. I need to check something out.."
Without waiting for his response, she rushed out to go after the person she had just seen. Once she got to where she had seen the person standing, she turned around in search of possible exits he might have taken.
"Did I imagine it?" she questioned herself in doubt.
But she could swear that she had seen him standing right here watching them and to be more specific, he was watching her. She couldn't catch a full glimpse of his face either.
"What are you doing out here on such a happy occasion? You're missing the best part of the ceremony.."
The sudden voice which came up behind her had her turning around sharply. The older lady dressed in a black straight gown had her smiling for a second.
"Mrs Chase..well I just stepped out for a while, I couldn't bear to witness Ava being covered up with dirt..." Agnes murmured in a soft and almost pitiful tone.
The two ladies eyes met for a second before they both erupted in laughter. "I didn't get dolled up like a black Barbie doll only to miss the best part of this happy day. I ran out of fake tears so I stepped out to get more.."
Matt's mother, Anna lifted a brow at Agnes words. She wondered how the latter wanted to get fake tears not until she pulled out a small table knife and an onion from her purse.
"It might be her burial, but I'm not gonna let her be the center of attraction. Everyone will look at me instead.." Agnes concluded.
In less than a minute, her eyes was streaming down with fake onion tears. "Come on, let's go cry some more.."
****
It's been a month since Ava and her baby tragically lost their lives, the police couldn't figure out who had murdered them, so they wrote it off as suicide since Matt made mention of Ava being insecure about her recent body changes after she got pregnant.
"I told her several times that I loved her the way that she was. But instead, she kept on insisting that she wasn't how she used to be because of the baby. One time I caught her trying to slit her own wrist.." Matt paused, bringing his handkerchief to his face, he gently dabbed it under his eye bag. "..I stopped her on time and maybe that's the reason she stabbed herself and jumped off the terrace.."
The two Cops exchanged brief glances and bowed their head slightly to honor the dead in a two minutes silence.
"We are sorry for your loss, Mr Chase. May the Lord grant the departed eternal rest.."
Matt nodded. "Thanks, if there's anything else, please let me know.."
"Sure.."
He watched the two Cops leave the living room, after they were gone, he groaned hard. "Pour me some wine, Agnes."
Agnes appeared completely stripped off of any clothing. On both hands were two glasses of wine and a grin spread across her lips.
"Now you'll have to decide, which do you wanna have first? The wine or me?"
Matt's throat tightened, his eyes lowered to her mounds and then down to her sex. A sly smirk appeared on his lips. "Why don't I have both?"
Agnes arched a brow, she raised the glass of wine to her lips and dipped a mouth full, she emptied the other contents on her body. "Come get it then.."

Meanwhile,
"Boss, she's awake.."
The figure sitting behind a desk shut the open laptop closed and stood to his feet. His grey pupils dilated at the young man before him. He didn't bother to give a response, he strode out of the study.
Once he got to the masters room, he saw how the doctor and some nurses were scrambling here and there to get things fixed. On the bed lay a pale figure.
Her eyes were wide open, there was an ounce of confusion in her eyes. As if noticing his presence, she turned her head to his direction.
"How is she?" His dry voice broke into the room.
The doctor turned around immediately with a small smile. "Mr Manchester," he acknowledged. "She's in good hands. We are running several checks on her and so far we haven't found anything that could cause alarm."
"Good. You can leave.."
The doctor and his team of nurses bowed slightly and left the large bedroom to the two.
He walked over to stand next to the bed, watching her closely, he noticed how uncomfortable she was getting until her hand fell on her flat belly.
"I'm sorry for your loss. How are you feeling, Ava?"
Ava's throat tightened in pain, she felt like she was suffocating. Her eyes stinged and soon fresh tears were streaming down her eyes. The fall from the terrace flashing vividly in her head. The mocking smile from Agnes and the sinister look Matt gave her before letting her hand go.
"M-my B-aby.." She stuttered. Both of her hands fell on her belly which used to be protruding a month or two back.
Her child was just a few days away from being born before she was killed by her father.
"What happened on that day Ava? You're the only one who can bring your baby's killers to justice. Give me names.."
Ava turned her back against him and lay on her sides, her wails didn't die down and she didn't bother to find out who the unknown man was or where exactly this place was.
The only thing occupying her mind was the betrayal and hurt she had suffered.
On seeing that she wasn't ready to talk yet, he turned around and left the room for her to have sometime to herself. He'll be back after she's done venting her anger and pain.
"Keep a close eye on her and attend to every of her needs.." He ordered the middle aged maid standing next to the door.
"Yes boss, the old master sent a few men over. They're here to see you.."
After a few hours of being to herself and cursing her fate, Ava was determined to punish Agnes and Matt for what they did to her and her unborn baby. She gently got out of bed but staggered a little. Her legs haven't moved for a month after she fell into a coma.
Luckily, she didn't injure her spine from that fall or break any major bones. The old maid saw her trying to move but rushed forward to stop her.
"No ma'am, tell me if you need anything and I'll get it for you.."
"I want to leave." Her eyes were red and swollen. She shrugged off the maid's hold on her and took a step forward only to stop after the door opened.
The intimidating dark and tall figure strode into the room. His grey eyes pinned on her little and slender frame, he moved his head a little gesturing for the maid to leave.
After she did, he settled his gaze back on Ava.
"Who are you? I need to leave this minute.."
"I'm Ryan, Ryan Manchester. And also your savior" He proudly declared.
Ava's lips parted. His last name was very familiar, if she wasn't mistaken, then he is Matt's uncle. The same one who she heard was the black sheep of the Manchester's family.
"And you can't leave, You're dead and you've even been buried.." He continued.
Ava was left confused at his words, she pinched herself just to confirm if she was truly dead or the man before her had hit his head somewhere before now.
"W-hat do you mean by that? I need to go see Matt!" She snapped at him, she stubbornly tried to walk past him only for him to get a hold of her arm.
"Everyone including your husband thinks you're dead and your burial was held a month ago. So what do you think is going to happen if you go back to your husband when you're meant to be dead?"
Ava was even more confused about everything, she finally relaxed and allowed Ryan guide her back to the bed. He made her seat and he took the next empty spot beside her.
"Who pushed you off that terrace? I know someone tried to kill you and not suicide like the Cops claimed it to be.." His voice low and tender. He pinned his gaze on her. "You're the only one who can get them punished.."
Ava's gaze dropped to her clasped hands, the last thing she wanted was to be around the direct family member of the man who had tried to kill her.
"W-hy do you want to know that? How am I sure that you're not going to try to kill me too?"
Ryan chuckled. "I wouldn't have sat beside your bed everyday, or hope for you to wake up if I wanted to kill you." he paused. "So, Ava. Tell me everything I need to know.."
Ava lifted her head up to face him, she could see the sincerity and honesty lurking behind those grey orbs.
"M-att and Agnes pushed me.."
She spent the next twenty minutes giving every details to him. She noticed that he was constantly staring at his phone whenever she spoke. "Are you recording our conversation?" She inquired, a string of doubt settling in her mind.
"You don't have to worry about that. Leave this all to me.."
Ava stood to her feet when he did the same, she reached her hand to his arm to stop him from leaving. "What are you going to do to them? This is my fight, I think it's right if I'm the one to carry out my revenge on them.."
There was a sudden stretch on Ryan's lips. He tilted his head to the side.
"You want revenge on my nephew and I have every resources to give you your desired revenge but it comes with a price.."
Ava gulped down, there was nothing more pricey than the child that she already lost in this battle. "Name it.." She dared.
Ryan's brows shot up, he leaned down a bit to stare at her more closely. She looked innocent yet fetish and a bit conniving. "How old are you?" he asked, although he already knew how old she was.
"It's rude to ask a lady for her age.." She snapped. "By the way, I'm 24.."
"You'll be 25 in the next two months.." Ryan pointed out. "Let's get married. You want revenge and I want a wife to escape my arranged marriage.."
Ava stared at his outstretched palm, this means that she was given only seconds to think about a decision. She doesn't have anything attached to her maiden name. She was only where she is today because she got married to a rich man, now a wealthy man was asking her to be his wife.
"You can think about my offer for the rest of today, I'll respect whatever answer you give-
"I accept your terms. Let's get married.." Ava cut in sharply.
****
Few days later..
The double doors to the large living room was pushed open by two maids. They bowed their head accordingly to acknowledge the presence of their master and his woman.
Ryan's father had proposed a lunch meeting to discuss family related matters. Ryan knew quite well that his father only called for this meeting to discuss about his arranged marriage.
"Young master, come this way. Your father and the rest have been waiting for your arrival.." The old butler ushered with a smile but as soon as he saw the lady standing next to Ryan, his face turned white instantly.
Ava noticed his reaction. "Come," She heard Ryan say before he took her by her hand. Although he had already informed her about her fake death, the butler's reaction was so hard to ignore.
They both followed behind the butler who was shaking in fright like he had seen a ghost even though he's literally seeing on right now.
"Ah, son. I thought you won't be able to make it here today."
The older man chirped. His almost grey hair was neatly kept, his eyes held the same hue as his son Ryan, he looked like the older version of his son. He opened his arm for his son and surprisingly, Ryan walked in to honor his father.
He received a gentle pat on his back and stepped back. And that was the moment Eric noticed the lady who came with his son. He was left speechless.
"I believe I haven't introduced you to Mia yet. This is Mia Manchester, my new wife.."
Ava smiled sweetly at her father-in-law. She brought her hand forward for a handshake but he didn't budge, he was still in so much shock from the look on his face.
"It's nice to meet you father-in-law, Ryan has said so much about you.."
Meanwhile..
In one of the rooms in the Manchester's ancestral home, Matt pulled away from Agnes, he pulled up his pants and buckled his belt.
Still panting slightly, his gaze settled on her body which was barely cladded.
"You are gonna be the end of me, you know that right?" He grinned as he picked up his suit jacket from the bed.
"Oh fuck, yeah!" Agnes murmured sitting up on the bed, she reached for her black gown on the bed and began putting it on. "Zip me up.." She stood before Matt and the latter fondled with her zipper until he got it right. "I wonder what your uncle looks like, do you think he'll like me well enough for you?"
Matt scoffed. "You mean Uncle Ryan? The chances of him coming over is very slim. It's almost like stealing the eiffel tower"
There was a rasp knock on the door before it was pushed open. It was Mrs Chase, Matt's mother and also Ryan's older sister.
"What are you two doing? Your uncle has arrived and I heard he came with a woman. Come on, let's go pretend to be happy downstairs.."
Matt and Agnes exchanged glances. The Eiffel tower can be stolen after all.
****
Eric finally snapped out of his daze, he shakily brought his finger to point at Ava whose smile hasn't faded yet. "H-how is it possible? S-he's dead!" He finally found the voice to speak.
"Uncle Ryan," Matt called out. A deep fake smile stretched on his lips. "It's been a while, I had no idea that you would be able to make it here today.."
Ryan didn't budge or respond to his nephew's greetings. He waited until Matt walked to stand before him. "I see you haven't progressed since the last time I saw you. I also heard about the death of your wife, it seems she couldn't keep up with your behavior so she committed suicide.." Ryan paused. "That's pretty nasty" he continued.
Matt's face fell immediately, he should have known any better. His uncle had never stopped back from saying spiteful comments about him.
"But uncle-
"Have you paid greetings to your aunt yet? Or should I spank your ass in front of everyone?"
Matt was confused at first, he knew his uncle was still single, the lunch was even set up to talk about his marriage. Just before he could retort, his eyes fell on the feminine hand outstretched to him.
"Hi, I'm Mia. Your uncle's new wife. It's a pleasure to finally meet you..Kiddo" Ava said softly with a bright smile on her lips.
Matt, Agnes and Anna were left in a state of shock for more than a minute until the two ladies screamed their lungs out.
"G-host!"
"What is going on, honey?" Ava lifted her head to Ryan with a soft and innocent look on her face. "Why do they all think that I'm a dead person? Is there something that you're not telling me?"
Ryan shook his head gently. "Don't stress yourself with minor things like this. Come, let's get your belly filled."
The four souls in the living room watched the two leave for the dining room, it was only at that moment they finally snapped out of their shock.
"M-att, I'm not the only one that saw Ava right?" Agnes stuttered, her face was all sweaty and her eyes wide open in fright.
"No, it can't be. We buried Ava a month ago, she must be rotting under the ground by now. That lady has amber eyes but Ava's eyes are brown." Anna tried to give herself some hope. "But why would Ryan get himself a wife that looks like his nephew's late wife?!" Anna snapped.
"To haunt us.." Agnes whispered, she immediately cleared her throat on seeing the old man present there. "I mean, there's a possible explanation to this, I'm sure of that." She corrected herself but deep down, her anxiety was growing.
For Ryan to appear with a woman who looks like the late Ava, it means that he knows something. Something only her, Matt and Anna should know about.
