Chapter 1 Terra is on Fire

"And that is how the tribe of Persus and the tribe of Terra were separated!" The lady explained calmly.

"Will they ever get back together again?" The boy on her lap asked, his eyes wide with wonder.

"The kings are trying and maybe one day they will." His mother assures him and kisses his forehead, "Why don't you go to bed? It's getting a little past your bedtime isn't it my little wolf."

"I'm not a little wolf. I'm a big strong wolf!" The boy exclaimed causing his mother to chuckle.

"And I shall see my big strong wolf tomorrow morning. Goodnig-"

"FIRE! FIRE!"

Screams erupted through the forest the very ground shook as wolves began to run through the forest.

The mother scooped her child up in her arms and shape-shifted into a wolf, joining her husband, who ran out and began running with the crowd.

"What is happening!?" She asked as her child clung onto her neck.

"THE FOREST IS ON FIRE.!!"

The largest forest on earth-Terra was on fire and the wolves were being hunted by its flames.

"Where do we go!?"

"PERSUS... GET TO PERSUS! THE QUEEN HAS OPENED THEIR DOORS! EVERYONE GET TO PERSUS!" Was what was screamed around.

The wolves ran as fast as they could, their feet burning as it touched the hot earth, but they did not care they wanted to save their lives and get away from the fire. It didn't even matter that they were entering Persus which was considered an opposing city.

It had all began decades ago. During a large storm, many species including the human species was wiped out and all that were left were the werewolves, the witches and warlocks and vampires. The werewolves and vampires seldom crossed paths but the witches were their sworn enemies.

The Entire population of werewolves once lived together in the forest until a civil war which split them to the desert and the forest wolves. They used to be enemies, but now they had an icy relationship at best. However, when Terra was engulfed in flames, Persus opened its door and let them in.

Persus was in the lap of the desert unlike Terra. As werewolves of Terra settled into the city, the king and his family made their way to the palace.

The Queen of Persus- Queen Livea stood in the courtyard with her timid daughter almost hiding behind her-Princess Aurora. They awaited the royal family. The sky was cloudy and red with the ashes of the forest that once used to be Terra.

"They'll be weak enough and have to form an alliance with us now." Queen Livea smirked to her advisor who grinned in return.

"Poor Terra." Aurora whispered, staring up at the bloodred sky. Her white hair was tied back into a low bun, and she was still in her sleeping clothes that were mostly a white robe covered by a shawl.

"Another word and I'll cut your tongue off." Queen Livea hissed causing the girl to cower back.

The doors swung open and the King of Terra- King Medus and his wife Queen Jane walked in, in their wolf form.

Large and black, they were almost double the size of the wolves in Persus. Following behind them were their sons- -Marcus and Lucian.

Marcus was a gorgeous black wolf with striking yellow eyes and a frame that was strong and bold. However, Aurora's eye was caught onto a man who walked in beside them. Tall and thin with long black hair framing Lucian's green eyes that almost bore into her. He had soot on his face and his clothes seemed burned in a few places.

"King Medus. I am so sorry for the tragedy that has befallen you." Queen Livea said with more empathy than she was capable of.

"Thank you for your kindness in opening your doors for us Queen Livea." The king and queen bowed. Aurora could make out a smirk on the face of Lucian who seemed to size up the place and even her.

"Of course. Do not mention it. I have prepared your rooms with everything that you will need. This is Aurora, my only daughter, she will show you to your rooms."

Aurora smiled and bowed slightly before walking ahead with them.

They followed her, slowly, seemingly tired.

"I am so sorry about whatever happened. I wish we could do more." Aurora smiled as she led them up white marble stairs onto a floor with guards, A large room was opened and Aurora led them in.

"This is your room, King Medus and Queen Jane. Do tell me if there is anything that you need. The guards will be around if there is anything." She smiled and bid them goodbye before leaving.

"You're a pretty girl." Marcus remarked when he was alone with the girl and his brother.

"Thank you." She blushed. Lucian rolled his eyes but said nothing. Aurora introduced him to his room and bid him goodbye before turning to Lucian.

A shiver ran up her spine as she stared into his green eyes.

"Uh your room... is at the end... of the corridor." She whispered out. The man was taller than her and, although he looked lanky he looked strong and almost sinister, "It's a smaller room I hope you don't mind. I am In the room on the opposite wing to yours if I am needed."

"If you're needed?" Lucian asked, and she was shocked by how thick and deep his voice was. He was nothing like his family, and it was almost strange.

"Y... yes." She nodded and stared up at him.

"Show me around the room." He asked, and she gulped before nodding and going in.

The lanterns around the room gave just enough light for Lucian to see her as she tried to light more lanterns.

"The bed... is here." She pointed at a large round bed with red silk linen that was bright against the white bedding and white and gold marble flooring.

"And the bath is there." She pointed and turned to see him, finding him a step away from her. Suppressing a gasp, the girl backed away.

"Uhm, the closet is there. I should go."

"You know me from somewhere?" Lucian asked, and Aurora stopped in her tracks.

"N... no. Why would you think I did." She said, and before he could respond, she ran out the room, feeling suffocated being so close to the man she knew was responsible for the death of her best friend. She almost doubted him till he spoke.

Unbeknownst to her, the queen Jane had a thought and was expressing it to her husband at that very minute.

"What do you think?" She asked, loosening her gold hair.

"Uniting the nations by marrying our son off to Aurora? It's a good decision, our land is gone and this may be the only way for us to survive as a tribe. But it will mean that Terra..."

"There is no Terra without the forest. I am sure that the witches and warlocks caused this and, we will get to them but Terra? I think that Terra is a dream gone by." His wife sat beside him.

"You think they did it as revenge for him?"

"I don't know." She replied truthfully, "Which son should marry Aurora?"

"I don't care. As long as one of them does."

Chapter 2 Spoken for

"Aurora!?" A voice boomed and I ran into my mother's room immediately, she did not like waiting for anything.

However, she was not alone, King Medus and his two sons were there with him. Lucian glared at me while Marcus bowed his head slightly. He was such a gentleman. Lucian on the other hand could go to hell. He probably belonged there anyway.

"Sorry. Did I disturb?" I asked, trying to catch my breath.

"No you did not. Uhm we have a great news to share with you and the princes here. Please sit beside them." My mother signalled towards the princes. They seemed equally confused about what was going on.

"There has been a proposition to unite the kingdoms. A fantastic proposition that will accomplish what our ancestors could not. Terra and Persus will be one." My mother said with a gleam in her eyes that I could simply not read. What was she upto?

"You are to marry Prince Marcus and unite the kingdom!" She exclaimed, taking the breath away from my chest. I had to blink a few times to make sure my eyes were not escaping my head.

"I... I..."

"You are honored I presume?" She asked with a raised brow that was a subtle threat.

" I... of course. It... It is an honor." I said and looked hesitantly towards prince Marcus who did not seem very pleased but said nothing nonetheless. I don't think he wanted to marry me...

Why? What was wrong with me? Did he have an issue with me?

Frowning to myself I almost did not notice Lucian snickering in the corner. Something was up.

"It is my honor as well." Marcus agreed through grit teeth.

"We will have the engagement tomorrow." King Medus beamed.

"Tomorrow?! That is...." I realised my mother was glaring at me and calmed myself down, "That is rather short notice. How will the preparations be made?"

"Don't worry yourself about that. You are about to be the queen of the city. Concern yourself with your duties. You and Prince Marcus shall began training for the royal duties after the engagement. You are not to meet before." My mother warned and I nodded, needing time to digest all of this.

I didn't care what the brothers thought, for now I needed one person. My best friend- Bella.

She wasn't a royal werewolf but a commoner, we had met on one of the walks I took which my mother rarely allowed. I was a person who was mostly locked up at home. My mother was rather strict in that matter. She was not a bad mother but... she cared too much. That's all.

Bella was a seamstress and stitched my gown for many parties. She was there for me when my father passed away and when I would feel too lonely. The only way to get to her was to sneak out of the palace. The only plus point to living on your own in a large palace? You get to explore it and find things that no body even knows exists!

I had found a tunnel, hiding amongst the wine cellars in the basement. It led out to the city and was close enough to Bella's house that I could sneak around without getting caught.

Nothing and no one could help me understand how to prepare for this like she could!

"YOU'RE GETTING ENGAGED!?"

"Stop shouting!?"

"You're getting engaged!?" She whispered excitedly and held my hand, "Can I stich your engagement dress?" The redhead bounced on her bed. Her usually messy hair even messier than ever.

"unless you can do it in a few hours then no. Its tomorrow." I sighed and slumped back onto the pillows of which she had way too many.

"Oh I can. I made it a year ago." She grinned deviously and ran to her closet

"Wh... what?" I sat up, my face turning cold.

"I made it when you turned eighteen. I knew your crazy mother would make you get married before you touched 21." She laughed.

"Hey..." I said seriously and she apologised for calling my mother crazy.

Pulling out a large bundle of what seemed to be blue velvet she laid the bundle on my bed gleefully. I gingerly unwrapped the velvet and gasped. The pink tinged gold flowing skirt and the jewel encrusted corset top with its flowy sleeves and the gold white cape.

" how did you... How did you even make this? It must have cost a fortune. Thank you so much! You must let me pay for it!" I asked, tears brimming my eyes.

"Oh shush, can't I even do that for my best friend? But I would need time to stitch the wedding dress if your mother would allow it."

"I don't think she cares what I wear as long as I show up and marry Marcus. I don't think he wants to marry me."

"Why? He's getting the strongest and most beautiful princess in the province" She frowned.

"I don't know. I don't think I have a choice. Will you come to the engagement?" I asked hopefully. It would be good to see a supportive face there. Not that my mother wasn't supportive she just... had other priorities.

"Of course! I'll disguise myself as one of your maids." She grinned and hugged me, "Don't worry. Everything will be fine. He will marry you and realize you're the best thing that he could have gotten."

"Thank you."I smiled, burying my face in her oversized shirt that somehow always smelled of flowers.

And she wasn't wrong. Because when I woke up the next morning, I was excited for the night. Butterflies ran through me as I thought about the fact that I was getting engaged. As someone locked up in a castle for so long this was the most exciting thing to happen for me! I had always been told that this was my destiny. Marry a prince and become a queen. No studies or skills were needed to be a wife and be bed by a king as per my mother. Although by insistence of Bella I had learned a few skills and picked up a few things from the scholars of mother's court.

As I pranced around the room getting ready, I was taken care of by my maids who I had for years but wasn't allowed to talk to. They got me ready for the engagement, taking their time and braiding my white- silver hair elaborately. Although we were not allowed to talk to one another, there was a look of solidarity and worry in their eyes that put me on edge. Why were they worried? Why weren't they happy for me?

They must have something else on their mind, I convinced myself and kept with it. The gown was beautiful, the jewelled corset ended at my navel and the skirt began at my hips, ending at my ankles. My olive skin was prepared by the finest of the lotions and creams and I was glowing by the time the maids were done with me.

I watched as they all filed out, smiling and yet their eyes still had that same... worry.

Feeling a bit more on edge I played with the tip of my nail, almost peeling it. Was something wrong? Wasn't this a historical day for the cities? I was marrying the prince of Terra and uniting the kingdoms! Then why did I feel this sense of dread?

The light of the moon shone down through my window and I stared up at the beautiful white moon, " I am scared, please show me that this is what is destined for me."

"Princess Aurora you are summoned." The guard outside my door called and I stood up, muttering a prayer to the moon before I stepped outside. The cape was drawn over my head and I could not see. This was custom as I wasn't to see the face of my betrothed till the moon had blessed this union. I shuffled along till we reached the courtyard. I couldn't see anything besides my feet but I hoped it was well decorated. I felt the guard leave and stopped in my steps. A softer yet firmer hand held mine. My mother's.

"Don't react." She whispered and I frowned as I couldn't understand what she was saying.

However I dared not react. She was not the most patient.

I was led up the stairs to the helm that would lead into the palace and my hand was given to a mans hand. It was Marcus of course. His face was covered as well and he was led the same way that I was. His hand was sleek and he held my hand as if he would let go of it in any second. But I could not focus on that. My stomach began to churn and I felt as if something was wrong.

The priest began to chant and the crowd howled along with him. I could not tell how long he spoke for but I could feel my head sway as cold sweat covered my face. I held on a little tighter to the hands that held mine, trying not to fall. Thankfully Marcus held on to me tight as well. He probably understood that I wasn't very well.

"Moon Goddess, do you bless this union?" The priest thundered and I was shook out of my state as a jolt of electricity ran through me and him as well. We both clutched on to each other as intense moonlight flooded everything around us. The moon was pleased with this!

The worry left my stomach as I knew the moon would never do anything to harm me. I smiled as I was asked to let go of Marcus.

"You may behold your mate."

I took off my cape and the world under me felt like it was made of water.

There stood Lucian, his dark hair and green eyes staring straight back at me. The smile fell off of my face and I could do nothing but gape at him, the crowd gasped and began to mutter amongst themselves. Lucian bent his head slightly, pained at the reaction.

Slowly willing myself I turned to see my mother who was staring at me and telling me to smile. Smiling was the last thing on my mind.

"I present to you, citizens of Persus and Terra- the princess Aurora, our future Luna and Prince Lucian- Our Alpha King."

The crowd reluctantly cheered us but I stood staring at the man who couldn't even look me in the eye again.

He held my hand and turned me towards the crowd where I saw Bella with tears in her eyes standing at the edge of the small crowd of the cities elites. They had tricked me. This is why she had asked me not to react.

Fighting tears, I smiled softly and bowed as did he. As soon as we walked past the crowd, I flung his hand off of mine and ran to my room, tears streaming down my face. He did not run behind me but I knew one person did.

I had almost made it to my room when my hair was pulled back and pain seared through my head.

"Ah!" I cried out but the hand of my mother clasped my mouth.

"Not a word." She growled, "Go back down."

I shook my head, wincing as her nails dug into my skin.

"I said. Go back. Down. You will suck it up and play the part of the queen do you understand?" Her usually vivid blue eyes almost seemed white and on fire. Fear coursed through my veins and I truly believed that If I did not do it, she would hurt me.

Digging her metal tipped nails of the other hand into my stomach she warned, "I am fed up of you. Become their queen and conceive a child with Lucian and make him the heir. Do you understand?"

I nodded, writhing in pain as her nail pierced the skin, "Please..." I managed to mutter and she finally let me go.

"Get yourself gathered and join us." She huffed, adjusting her dress as she walked away.

Kneeling down to a slump on the corridor, I looked up at the moon, "Why did you do this to me? I thought you were supposed to do what was best for us? Lucian? He... He's a freak!"

Of course, the moon did not reply and I had to get up, adjusting my hair and dress. The hem of it barely covered the cuts on my stomach and I tried adjusting it so it did. My face was hurting from how hard my mother held it but I didn't care. Nothing much mattered in this moment.

I trudged my way down to the engagement where everyone was talking and dancing on cheerily in spite of my life crashing down around me.

Lucian stood there with his smug stupid face, looking as me as I walked towards him, he held out his hand and I knew if I didn't take it, my mother would hurt me.

I took it.

"Hello love." He smirked and tugged me as close to him as possible, "I was just admiring the decorations."

"Did you do this on purpose?" I asked in a whisper so no one could hear us.

"Marcus didn't want you so..." he shrugged.

"As if you do." I stared up at him while the man began to sway with me to the music. I did NOT want to dance but... what choice did I have?

"You don't know what I want." Was his cryptic answer which confused me even more. Lucian hugged me and began to sway with me as the crowd cheered for us.

"I hate you." I whispered.

Lucian chuckled and raised my chin up to look at him, "I'll live."

Chapter 3 Grape

"We ambushed the poor girl. She was crying for the most of it." Queen Jane sighed as she placed her chin on her delicate fist.

"I know, we should have told her about it." King Medus sighed. They had been talking about this for the past hour now. But none of them could easily accept what they had done. They knew that she would do well eventually.

"They were tears of joy, I am sure." Queen Livea waved it off, "This was for the best of our entire population. Terra is in ruins and Persus is a small country. Us joining together is for the best. Persus is helping the wolves of Terra build their land because of this union. What more could we want!"

The king and queen stayed silent and just nodded.

"Eavesdropping as usual?" Marcus asked as he walked towards his father's room and noticed Lucian hearing in.

"Well, when you're not allowed in any conversation, you learn to let yourself in." Lucian shrugged, "Why did you do this? You broke her heart."He did not much care about her, but seeing her cry that way... he had felt pity.

"Don't tell me you care about what the pathetic princess thinks." Marcus chuckled and, they began to walk through the palace.

"She's not pathetic, and I don't, but she was looking forward to marrying you. Why didn't you want to." Lucian looked at his younger brother, who's blue eyes sparkled in the sun. The living replica of his father and mother.

"I like another girl, and I am not interested in marrying a timid daisy from Persus. I want a tiger." Marcus grinned,"a wild woman. That's why I told dad to make you go up there instead."

"Yeah, and him threatening to tell everyone about... me. Was enough. Thank you for that." Lucian sighed, his jaw clenching.

"You're welcome, she's cute, you know." Marcus raised a brow,"Silver wolf, pretty face, powerful. And that ass-"

"Don't." Lucian warned and Marcus chuckled, raising his hands in mock surrender. He truly loved poking the bear when it came to Lucian.

"Enjoy your wedding, it's in a week, isn't it."

Lucian didn't reply to this and Marcus decided to taunt him further, "I heard she's been crying since the day you got engaged."

His teeth grit together, Lucian did his best not to respond but some part of him felt... guilt.

"She hasn't eaten either. She really hates your guts. Wonder how it'll be on your wedding night. She obviously hates you... will you force her to-"

"I'm done with this conversation." Lucian walked away, fuming for a reason unknown to him. He did not care at all for the girl, but he knew this wasn't the way to talk about her. He didn't intend to force her in anything. He would even leave her to be if she wanted him to be. Perhaps he should make it clear to her? Maybe that is what it would take ...

Had she really been crying? Lucian wondered to himself. And had she really not eaten?

"Something ails you young prince?" A cold voice asked and Lucian turned to find Queen Livea exit out of his family's wing of the palace.

"Oh no, my queen just worried about the princess. I have heard that she has refused food or any socialization." He replied.

"Aurora? Oh, she hasn't eaten?"

"Were... you not aware?" he asked, his eyes slightly narrowing.

"Been busy." She smiled although the smile did not reach her eyes, "Don't bother yourself with it, young prince, she could stand to lose a few pounds as it is." She bowed slightly before walking away leaving a dumbfounded Lucian.

Did she really just say that? He frowned in utter disbelief. Some mother.

In the darkened room of Princess Aurora, she had just awoken from the tenth nap of her day. She had completely gone down the drain overthinking herself till her head hurt. She had cried so bitterly that her eyelids were red and her lips were swollen.

She made her way to the bathing room where her maids had prepared a nice cold bath for her and submerged herself in the flower lined water.

Exhaling slowly, she leaned back and thought about the whole thing. The fact of the matter is, she was engaged. She always knew she would have an arranged marriage, and although she hated Lucian for what he had done to her friend, she had no choice but to marry him. He was her alpha and her mate, the moon had declared him to be so.

Werewolves only got one mate in their life, and it is said if a werewolf lost its mate, its life would be cut short. They were meant to live together.

Aurora sunk under the water and emerged once more, trying to wake herself up. She lathered herself in the finest smelling soaps, trying to make herself feel better. Maybe even happy? After all she was still uniting the kingdoms just with a different mate.

When she was done, she stood up and let the water fall off of her body. It took a few deep breaths for her to actually leave the room with a towel wrapped around her body.

She felt much better, maybe she could just ignore him for the rest of her life, and he would also do the same?

"Had a nice bath?" A voice asked, and she nearly jumped out of her skin when she found Lucian sitting on the couch.

"What the hell!? What are you doing in my room?!" She hissed as she looked around wondering how he came in when her door was locked.

"What? Can't your fiancé enter his beau's room?" He asked with a smirk. He had a plate beside him, and he stood up with it in his hand. It had cut up fruits and cheeses on it.

"What is tha... why are you here?" still not over his sudden intrusion she tried to back away from him.

"I heard you haven't eaten and came to offer you some food." He said, and she looked at the plate. It was actually very appetizing and after the relaxing bath, she was actually feeling hunger. However, she would rather lick a dead cockroach than eat food from his hand.

"I am not hungry, and I will certainly not eat food from your hand," She huffed, "And why are you acting all caring all of a sudden. I know what kind of person you are, I have heard your stories. This is all an act."

Lucian smiled but his eyes showed that he felt a tinge of hurt by her statement.

"If that's how you're going to be," he picked up a large, juicy red grape and walked towards her.

Aurora frowned and began to take a few steps back till her back touched a table, and she could not walk back anymore.

Lucian walked up to her, his face a few inches away from hers," You need to eat."

"I don't want to." She whispered, suddenly very conscious of the fact that she was only in a towel. But she could not look away from his fiery green eyes that stared back at her.

Lucian observed her face, his eyes roaming over her, focussing on her beautiful honey eyes rimmed with large eyelashes and her full lips that had a natural pout to them. His eyes stayed over her lips for a second too long, causing a strange feeling to crawl up her legs. Lucian rested his hand against the table behind her. He smelled like a forest freshly rained on, and it swarmed every sense of her.

He raised the grape to her lips and commanded her in a low voice, "Eat."

She blinked hesitatingly and took the grape in her mouth, her lips brushing past his fingertips.

For a few seconds, it felt as if the air had stopped moving, and they had both stopped breathing. Aurora moved slightly to try and break the spell his eyes had her under, this caused the knot of her towel to slip, which was in the back. With a swift movement, Lucian caught the towel in his hand, not letting it fall.

Aurora's eyes widened and Lucian took a step back and turned away, letting her adjust her towel.

"Sorry." He muttered,"Will you eat the rest or-"

"I will. You can leave." She managed to say and watched him walk away.

Suddenly very aware of her dry throat, Aurora took a giant gulp of water, very upset with the fact that her face was red and hot. And the very same feeling stayed in her gut as well.

Lucian wasn't very better, he cursed himself and wondered what it was that he was even doing! And why did he like doing it!??

Never in his life did he think watching someone eat a grape would be so.... Nevermind, Lucian had to distract himself. He had a kingdom to run soon.
