At first, she thought that the place was like those typical universities that she was trying to escape... Until she discovered something she never expected... 'Monsters' that's what Harrison University have. A secret that must be kept, and a secret that will leave her true identity unfolded.

Chapter 1 PROLOGUE

PROLOGUE

'The greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. But the more runoff, the more I highlight what I leave behind.

I am Myrttle Joong. A freshmen college student.

I don't usually give a damn for every insignificant thing around me. Including the idea of being at any school.

But my grandfather sent me to a school named 'HARRISON UNIVERSITY'

Another typical but high-end school congested with bitches, nerds, lovers, jerks, bullies, and the pathetic ones who love to see themselves bullied.

But everything changes after I started to see bizarre things, I never wish to involve with.

'Monsters'-that's what Harrison University has.

From that day on, I noticed that all things happening inside this campus are akin to each other.

But why did my fate brought me here? Am I also related to this mess?

CHAPTER ONE

Myrttle's Point of View

"Myrttle, Honey. Are you done preparing your things for your school tomorrow?" `Nay Julie asked me again after washing dishes.

I lamely shake my head, trying not to show her how unhappy I am involving myself to a school again. But before 'Nay Julie started to bug me again with her question. I prepared the stuff she is referring, since I know Nay Julie is not the kind of person who supports those kind of reasons. I think a few stuff will be enough until I find my way out to that school again. Like what I'm working out for the past few months.

Tss, this is his fault! I still can't believe that Harrison University administrator had some shitty guts to force someone to be in their assistance just for their damn benefits! Tomorrow will be my first day of being a college student. And hell no for saying I am excited about it! Does Lolo think that I like to be involved in any of this?

I don't understand why do people need to be in someplace they never wished to be!

I've done everything just to run away from everyone. Skipping several schools that Lolo recommended. Trying my very best to hide it from my grandfather. But he keeps on finding it out!

That's why here I am, preparing all this stuff to face that damn school whose administrator reported me to Gramps. But who cares? I know there is still a way to get rid of them. The devils always find their way, anyway.

And why do I need to do this?

Well... it's all for nothing...

I just can't bear to be involved with anyone again.

I will not let myself...because I never wanted it.

That's right. That is your reason, Myrttle.

After putting a binder and a pen in my bag. I noticed a red paper I dropped while arranging the documents Harrison University delivered me this morning.

It instantly burst my bubbles as I recalled who sent this shit in my place! I snatched it and crumpled it into pieces. Who else it could be?! It is that life wrecker school administrator who has an initial of 'B.H'. He wrote me something very grave for their student who's skipping their classes! A very nice note that could literary brought their student back to them. Well, not me shit-face.

From: B.H.

You're not attending your classes. See you around at the University tomorrow or I'll be the one who'll drag you here!

P.S

I am dead serious, Ms. Joong.

Just be ready letter sender, I'll make sure you regret the day messing up with me!

* * *

I woke up early as `Nay Julie's alarm smacked my head up. She was so excited every time I get a chance to be at my new school. That's why she alarmed her clock beside me one hour before I should wake up. It leaves me no choice because I know Graps will be mad at me If I ditch this class again. Which I never wish to happen, knowing who my grandfather was.

"Hurry up, Honey! Shenny and Alexander are already downstairs. Your friends are waiting for you at our kitchen!" She sang and I instantly stood up when I heard Shenny's name!

"Shenny at my kitchen?!" I screamed as I carelessly run downstairs and reach our kitchen.

"Shenny! Don't ever dare to touch my gummy worms!" I run yelling.

But it was too late.

My helpless gummy worms are now dying in the jaw of a petite, pale-skinned girl with wavy long hair. Shenny Park!

I knew it!

Her gluttony makes me kicked her ass as hard as it should, which is not supposed to happen. But dang! It's her fault!

Shenny garbly shouted in pain but still manage to chew my gummy worms! I don't feel guilty at all, I glare at her as she stood up holding her hips with a barely perceptible expression. I turned my back and look for my food storage. That's when the time Xander appeared out of nowhere.

"Myrttle! What have you done!" He quickly gone to Shenny and check her out as if he's the boyfriend she never had. Tss. Whatever.

Well, he is Alexander Mitsuo. A hopeless lover-boy who always wants Shenny's attention. But his height can't support that though, kidding.

I didn't mind their protest and without hope I open my refrigerator that seems like my empty soul.

No way!

My Gummy worms! They're gone!

"Shenny!" I screamed, but as soon as I faced them. They are already gone!

You traitors!

I couldn't imagine that there is still a space for this day to be the worst. How could that witch ate my one-month stocks of gummy worms?! Ugh!

Hastily getting myself ready. I heard Shenny and Xander talking to 'Nay Julie downstairs. They are waiting for me, but I never have plans to go to that damn school with them! Hell no! After what they did?!

Wearing a simple hooded jacket and pants, I marched downstairs and quickly pulled my car out of our garage for a ride. I stuffed in the flash-drive, that the university gave to me. They instructed me to plug it into any USB-port on my way to their place, so I did.

And to my surprise, a hologram-like map appeared at the edge of this thing that made me raised a brow. It seems like a map that is directing me to the University.

"Cool," I muttered.

Well, not enough to impress me B.H!

I started following the arrow at the hologram. Weirdly, it's directing me to the far huge forest near our city. Which made it seems like, only those who knew this university can barge in. Not including the fact that it ain't a good place to build a university.

I rolled my eyes as I remember Shenny and Alexander. They are heading the same way I am taking, and I don't have a plan to wait for them. Or should I? Ugh! Nevermind!

Alexander Mitsuo and Shenny Park are living two blocks away from my house. I didn't want to get any of my neighbors' attention, so I didn't socialize with them since I moved in. Except for these two, who keeps on bugging my peaceful life. Offering me different kinds of stuff just to be called a good neighbor. And it is a shame that all I can do to get rid of them is to befriend them. Which I think I should regret now.

It's 'Nay Julie's fault for letting that two knew about me getting to the same school they were.

They're enrolled in a different field that will take as their first step for their dream profession. Which I somehow envy, for I can't dream of something a normal teenager have to be. I don't have my rights to do such a thing. That's why all I could dream of right now is to shove people out of my life.

Anyway, my grandfather enrolled me in a Management course. For he knew it could somehow help me with the different reality I have.

I stopped my car as I've reached the place on the map where the school initials are blinking.

They must be kidding. This is the end of the road. There is nothing else here, except from the giant walls of trees in front of me, which look like it is guarding something.

"Are you even working?!" I wailed at the hologram. I am not in the mood to be fool by a gadget, for God sake!

In a moment, the hologram flickered and show me more direction. It says I should go straight ahead of these trees that are way too impossible!

I looked around, displeased, hopelessly looking for a way. Until I saw somethings odd below the middle huge tree, ten meters away from me.

There is an unusual space beneath the tree that is almost hidden the way the roots are placed on its top.

Wait, is that a... tunnel?

Oh god, this is insane. Who could have thought that they could hide tunnels under a tree? Is that even possible?

I started my engine and drove in as I wiped my useless question off my mind. All right! Let's see how far this school can show off.

Chapter 2 Hidden route

I instinctively slow down as I went through the tunnel. I can't blame myself, I didn't expect any of this! As in dang! Since when did this place exist?

A road comes across the end of the tunnel. I gaped. A green magnificent tree-lined road, canopied by the overhanging trees, that seems to be enough to shade mellow sunlight.

Absolutely, an awesome view but you don't have time for this, Myrttle! I am running late!

I set my foot on my gas and drove faster than before. I hope that this red point blinking on the map, not so far from me, are finally their entrance. But of course! This school never failed to pissed me off! All I can saw from my spot right now is a huge Ancient arch that seems so old and ready to collapse anytime!

I fiercely step on my gas once more. But almost hit a tree as soon as I cross to the arch.

"You must to be kidding me!" I roared as my car screeched before I stopped. Good thing I could still handle this crap!

A blue like scanner just run through me while crossing the arch! And because I am not aware, it almost got me dead! They don't event warned me about this!

This is enough!

"This is too much!"

I am about to leave this place to back off. When the image in the hologram changes. The school logo appears like I just won some lottery.

"Welcome to Harrison University, Miss Joong." The usb said that widen my eyes.

What the hell?

"Please proceed to the red blinking dot on the map for your parking place." It continued that furrowed my brows.

I looked at the map again. There is a silver crest engraving the gold initials of the school. Mostly seems to be connected by red veins, which is very cool and mystic. Not mentioning some unknown wings behind the initials.

Then it shrunk and showm me the map of the actual school itself, the final one.

I convinced myself for the last time not to leave. So I start looking for the parking lot this hologram are saying. But I can't stop wondering if the huge walls I sighted earlier from the arch are theirs. Which I initially confirmed as fast as I've I reached my destination.

The university walls here at the parking lot was amusingly fifty feet tall. Are they really this desperate to avoid their student do cutting classes? Too scared to loss money? Well, it's reasonably impressive. For I used to cross university walls for my escape.

I was destructed when I heard engines coming from a far, and it was Alexander's car, he's with that gluten witch! They came from a different way I took earlier. Which is far from the woods I took. That questions me a lot but I don't have a plan to asked these two. As soon as their car approaches, I came out of my car and began walking towards the gate.

"Myrttle!" Shenny called out but I prefer to pretend not hearing her. There is no way I would consider her after what she have done!

Unfortunately, she was too fast and stopped me by grabbing my shoulder. "Myrttle. Please, don't be mad at me!" She begged, teary eyes, that I still responded with a smug.

"Having the nerve to eat those gummy worms are crazy! You know she won't forgive you, Shenny! Tss! And for god sake! You are both in your legal age! Could you please act like one? " Xander meddled with his arms crossed.

Furrowing my brow I rolled my eyes to Shenny when she seems too sensitive for what he says.

Tss! Whatever. I still have few months to be in my legal age.

"Get lost," I spoked to end their drama and turn my back.

"But wait, Myrttle! You still don't know where to -"

I stopped, and face Shenny before she finished.

"I'm not a child anymore. I don't need any guidance from any of you just to find my way to my room." I ended and continue my pace. The wind is blowing from the woods I came from was cold. Good thing I got my jacket on, and just put my hands to its pocket.

I looked farther and notice how quiet and unusual this school was. There is no sign of people here. And the silence of the woods makes it more creepier than what it looks. Which is one of my reason why I chose to find everything out on my own. Not only because Shenny did offense me. But because I felt something weird in this school I must discern.

These walls, the warnings and precautions I sighted at the forest, not mentioning the school location. It's still a mystery for me why they need to be like this. Why this school needs to be in a secluded place? And why would a university need this kind of walls? Is it necessary? Or they are just hiding something?

I curiosity almost brushed off as soon as I've reached the silver gate, the entrance. Like the arch I saw in the forest, this gate didn't have any security guard or staff. Things that is too strange that made me think something worst.

The gate was huge like the arch earlier, connecting the twenty feet walls thats seems to be elevating as far as it goes.

This time, I've heard many noises from the parking lot I left, and it must be their students. I wonder what road they took to come here. Anyways, I don't dream of asking any of them. A flock of branded spoiled brats and jerk I don't dream to face in my mood right now. I just hate their presence since birth. So I set foot in the university that soon leaves me dumbfounded.

I am trying to hide my amazement as I stopped and look at the very inch of view my eyes could reach. There is no way this place could exist!

The school itself was immense! The gothic structures of every building makes it more cool and sophisticated with 10 floor each. Not mentioning the massive clock tower at the middle who's doubling each buildings height. It also has a cool brick ground that intensifies the garden motif of the school ground.

I looked farther and confirm that the walls behind this university goes higher and almost covers the mountain view behind. Which made me anxious for some reason.

I got destructed when the noises came near me. So I advance to find my room, it's better be there first than to deal with their 'new-student-stares' which I really hate.

Okay! This is it!!!

****

Myrttle immediately found the Business administration building as she strolled. Good thing there is a sign board for new students like her.

Surprisingly, there is an old man seating at the information desk as she took her entrance at the building. She never expected to see school staff, but this man came out weird for her.

He's staring at Myrttle without any flinched or even welcoming smile like the usual school staff she knew. However, the strange stare of that man never bother Myrttle. Instead, she just ignore him and about to take the golden elevator near the information desk. But as soon as she pushed the down botton, the man spoke.

"Myrttle Joong, Room AB 303." he confirmed that made Myrttle face him out of creep. She didn't even show this guy any information about her, yet he just told something specific like that.

Myrttle manage to faced him with a smug. "Ah, Yes?"

But the old man smiled and spoke again, "Please took the silver one right beside you. Sixth floor." He continued as he turn his head to the entrance again, as if he's expecting another student to enter.

"Whatever." She whispered, rolling her eyes, but still follow that mans' instruction.

The silver elevator was about to shut off, when a guy aged like Myrttle stopped it. His hair color was grey which only highlighted his pale skin.

"C-Can I?" The guy asked for a Myrttles' permission, their stare collided. But it seems like Myrttle doesn't have any care at all. BUT he was stunned the moment he recognized her face.

"Sure, what floor?" She coldly asked without any tone of joy.

"S-Sixth floor." He stuttered, as Myrttle pushes the same button as his.

Upon arriving at the 6th floor. He choose to part ways to Myrttle and Immediately entered a dark empty room as he dialled his phone.

"Hello, Sir?" He started, as he sneek a pick on the window spaces, trying to see where is Myrttle going.

"She's here." he continued as the person he is speaking puffed.

"Myrttle Joong?" the other line confirmed.

"Yes, Sir."

The voice changes into a serious one, "Okay, well done."

"What else do you want me to do to her?" Davian, the grey haird guy, didn't really know what next he can do after finding this girl.

"Oh, none. Just keep an eye on her." it answered and ended up the call.

"Copy, Sir. " Davian grimaced almost loosing his voice when he saw a blank blazing stare on his side. Sneeking at Myrttle like him.

"Who is she?" A blond guy with a straight face asked, enough to made Davian stiffed. He knew this guy, who could forgot their name?

Hunt Spark, a mysterious guy who's been following Davian without him noticing.

"Nothing." Davian answered trying to convince he's saying the truth.

Hunt stared at him in a moment and let a breath out. "Okay." he continued making his way out of the room, keeping his hands under his pocket. But before leaving he spoke something that made Davian froze.

"Not because, I didn't ask you more, means I buy your reason, Davian Yatsumi. I'll let this slide for now, but will never promise to let you escape next time. So watch your action. You know what will happen with a one wrong move." Hunt warned before leaving the room.

Chapter 3 The Fountain

"Nothing." Davian answered trying to convince he's saying the truth.

Hunt stared at him in a moment and let a breath out. "Okay." he continued making his way out of the room, keeping his hands under his pocket. But before leaving he spoke something that made Davian froze.

Myrttle's Point of View

Staying doesn't mean you used to like the place you belong with all the time. It sometimes the least thing you can do to fill the curiosity you're drowning.

It's been one week since I started coming to Harrison University. But since then, the enigma of this place never let me leave. So I keep eyeing things that might help me to discover something I wished I wrongly understand.

I wished I am just over-thinking things. But there must be a reason why there's something off around this place. Not including a few strange students who seem to be... unusual to my eyes. I don't know, but if my assumption was right, this is a bad shot.

It's past ten o'clock in the morning, my first vacant time for this week. The shady sky was perfect for me to stroll and look around the place. Till my foot brought me to the most secluded place yet the most magnificent spot in the university ground. A fountain.

The center fountain who seems to be abandoned and avoided by the student. Things I must not question after seeing how filthy and green the water it had. But at least it doesn't have a foul smell.

I stopped as I felt odd again. I knew someone's staring at me right now, but I didn't bother to look around and find who was it. For I know what I'm capable of, and they just don't.

Looking closer, this fountain is a work of art. It may be filthy, but the structure itself was beautiful. The circular tiled fountain is consisting of 12 figures of warriors- six men and six women, like a crystal statue of Greek gods and goddesses. They probably representing personalities from the past- some important falk's, I guess.

My eyes narrowed at the weapon they are holding. To my surprise, there are symbols lying in there. Who seems to be different, depending on who's holding it.

But when the sun suddenly showed up, one statue lures my attention. The sun made its simple red structure into a flaming crystal. A scene that I can't keep my eyes with. I looked at her hands and saw her magnificent bow and arrow, owning a symbol that made my heart skipped for an unknown reason. It's a blazing bird, a Phoenix.

"Beautiful, isn't it?" An old man's voice brings me back to reality. However, I choose not to face him ang my peripheral vision saw how he turned his sight back at me after looking at the red statue I am looking at.

Until he says something that got my attention, "They are the 12 Legendary Rulers of this university, Miss Joong."

I looked back this time. An old sophisticated man, with a grey colored hair of his ages. His creepy smile with recognition made me rolled my eyes at him and made my way out of his sight.

The way he stares at me seems like he's been waiting for me for a long time. Like what the hell?

I don't even recall who he was. Tss, Weird old man.

But what is he talking about? Legendary rulers? Who are they? Why do they need to exist? Especially with those kinds of weapons?

Oh god. Another worry to think about! Nice Myrttle!

***

My last class before lunch break was finally done. I solely made my way out to the room and gone to the main cafeteria to grab some meals. As usual, it's only just me who's been eating for almost a week. Since they also knew I don't want any companion.

I rarely saw Shenny and Xander these days. We have a different schedule which is really fine for me, for I can enjoy myself this way more.

A long lane waited for me at the cafeteria. The usual thing, especially today, since almost all of the Business administration students are having their lunch. It didn't bother me anyway, since waiting for me is fine.

A few steps more from the cashier, when I felt someone shove my back. I looked back, and saw the girl with eyeglasses whose been next to me was gone. Instead, three different personalities I don't remember lining up for her place.

"Stupid nerd!" One of them yawned as the two of them laugh.

Oh okay?

"Tss, here we are again," I heard sighed by the cafeteria staff who happened to assist me first. For the two-person in front of me flee as soon as they saw the three. So, lucky me?

"Set B, please, with fries and diet soda. And umh... grab me any kind of milk tea with additional pearls too." I ordered as I gave the her my debit card, which the school-issued me last week.

"Hey, dumb! Hurry up!" One of them yelled, trying to pull my arms from the back. But I smiled as she failed. I first waited for my card to reclaim before giving this poor thing my attention.

"Are you some deaf or what?! We're talking to you!" the chubby one yelled as I faced the them.

Without any hesitation, I spoke with a lame tone, "Move." I commanded, instantly, the three clown faces turned red.

They were wearing hell-fashioned dresses-revealing their cleavages that can burn my eyes out of disgust. It can't even hide the layers of their fats. Oh god, how could they wear those hideous clothing? Though, the taller one with shades in the middle suits what she's wearing, but her chest is too full!

I saw how she narrowed her brow behind those shades. Well, I don't give a fuck.

"Say what?!" she madly asked as I rolled my eyes to this self-proclaimed deaf.

"I.said.move," I repeated, emphasizing every word and showing them the way out of the cafeteria.

Eventually, I found the girl next to me on the floor, watching us instead of getting up.

Oh god, don't tell me, she have been waiting there to rotten?

"OMG! I knew her. She's the new girl who messed us up in the Management class yesterday. Let's back off!" shouted by one of them with a trembling voice. I dare say she's right.

I remember their faces, except for the taller one. They belong to the group of brats who pushed me to kick their ass yesterday.

They tripped my foot while I was about to introduce myself in front of a professor. And of course! My reflexes made them taste their own medicine. They made me flipped their chairs together with them. Too bad for them to assume, that I am one of those who-can't-protect-myself ones, like this girl with eyeglasses.

"The hell I care?" The tall one retorted, rolling her eyes that makes me want to poke it out.

"Like who are you, anyway? I don't see any reason for me to be scared. And what the hell do you call the garments you are wearing? Tell me, what book are you from?" She laughed, insulting my white oversized hooded jacket, that leaves me offended. The two of them noticed me and they just laugh awkwardly.

I tried to hold my temper for a bit, remembering the few best things to avenge with people like her.

First, ignore.

I lazily turn my back and get the glass of milk tea I ordered. Purposely, left my food tray as I quickly turned to face them.

Second, Act stupid.

The momentum made the tea splashed on her pissed off expression. That quickly drips down to her chess and soak it wet. They gasped and she acted like she is about to faint. Oh stop it.

Third, enjoy the moment.

Trying to not show my enjoyment. I fake an apologetic look.

Fourth, make a convincing apology.

"Oh dear, I'm really sorry." I acted, intentionally whipping her wet dress that made it spread more.

And last but the best part. Make them look stupid.

"I wish I could say it wasn't on purpose. But everything's obvious, right? Unless your shades are too dark for you to see what happened?" I smirked as I stood up wiping my hands I messed because of their show.

I glanced around after realizing that I took everyones attention. But they immediately looked away as I throw them my get-lost-stare.

"How dare you!" She crookedly cried, getting my attention again. She's trying to dry her dress using her hands.

Like what is this girl doing? I thought, tilting my head.

That poke a nerve, and quickly raised a hand for a slap. Too slow that made me manage to grab it making her screamed, "Ouch!"

"Oh yeah?" I laugh sarcastically and let go of her hand as hard as I can. Thus, made a massive impact I almost worried about. Tss. Her fault.

"Here's the thing, Miss. A true villain must know who is he opposing to." I leaned closer to continue. "But I'm warning you. Sometimes, knowing the the person you're messing with could cause you a life." I smiled as I pulled myself and leave her dumbfounded.
