Cassidy slowly opened her eyes to the morning rays that washed through her face from the window adjacent to her king-size bed and the birds chirping endlessly as they jumped from tree to tree. Cassidy smiled a contented smile. How she had missed this. How she had missed her room.
She had arrived home yesterday afternoon from the University of California, Berkeley for her summer holidays. After an early dinner with her mum, she had gone straight to bed, tired from the flight back home. Waking up now, she felt light and ready to start her first summer holiday as a first-year University student.
She had to admit, waking up at home was very different from waking up at Berkeley. At Berkeley, there were no morning rays to kiss her face, no birds chirping, and worst of all, she had to wake up pretty early to prepare for class. Here she was enjoying the morning sun kissing her face in the comfort of her room which she had deserted earlier.
She looked around the room, checking if there was any of her stuff that was out of place or missing. She was too tired yesterday to do anything.
Her mum was fond of snooping around her room, looking for stuff that she thought she had outgrown or no longer needed. Like she needed any help. Her reading desk beside her window was just as she kept it. She nodded. Her television and sound systems which were kept at the center of the room weren't tampered with.
She moved to her closet for her last supervision. Her footwears were in order. "Check."
She moved to her clothes, they didn't seem as though someone touched them.
"It seems Mrs. Stewart has turned a new leaf." She chuckled as she found her way to the bathroom to brush her teeth and wash her face. Soon she was heading to her mum's room whom she bet was already preparing for work.
"Good morning Mrs. Stewart." She greeted, as soon as she entered her room.
Mrs. Jenn Stewart who was standing in front of her dressing mirror adjusting her gown turned to her daughter with a smile. "Good morning my angel. Hope you had a lovely night's rest?"
"As lovely as ever mum. It feels so good to reunite with my bed again." She replied as she twirled around the room to her mother's amusement.
"I figured you were tired after yesterday's flight so I let you rest. How are you feeling now?"
"I'm so in the mood for some swimming and hanging out."
Jenn chuckled. "Swimming and hanging out huh?"
Cassidy nodded with a smile. "Can you ever be separated from the waters?" Cassidy shook her head vigorously and her mother laughed.
"What's for breakfast mum? I am famished."
"You are still carrying your bedhead and I bet you haven't even brushed, or have you?"
Cassidy rolled her eyes. "Mum! For the love of God, of course, I have brushed my teeth!" She half yelled and her mum burst into laughter.
"Just kidding love. Breakfast is already served, let's head to the dining. I also have something to show you."
Cassidy threw her mum a questioning look. "What could that be?"
"You'll see." Her mum replied as they walked out of the room.
As soon as they got to the dining table, Cassidy flew to the covered ceramic plate to unmask its content.
"Omelette and Cheese!! How I have missed you."
Jenn looked on with a smile as her daughter dived into the meal with a great appetite.
She knew what she was about to say would make Cassidy lose her appetite. She decided to leave it after breakfast.
Cassidy stopped to take a sip of her tea and found her mum staring at her.
"Mum, come sit, aren't you hungry?" She asked with a mouthful of omelet and her mum laughed.
"It seems you are enjoying the meal so much so I decided to leave mine for you to feast on, how 'bout that," Jenn asked as she sat down close to Cassidy.
"Nice thought, Mum." Cassidy gave her a mock thumbs-up. "You know Mum, it didn't appear as though you snooped around my room this time, what changed." She asked, staring at her mum.
Jenn smiled at her daughter's remarks.
"Well, I decided to give you some privacy. You are an adult and should know what you need or don't."
"Aww, that's so cute Mum." Cassidy gave her mum her sweetest smile which she returned.
The duo went back to their meal in silence, with Jenn making a mental calculation on how she was going to break the news to her daughter. She would go haywire.
After eating and clearing the dining, Cassidy sat on a couch in the living room fiddling with her phone.
Jenn came out ready to go to work. She handed her a ticket and looked away. "That's what I wanted to show you."
Cassidy narrowed her eyebrows. "A ticket to San Francisco?" Her mum nodded. "Why do you want to go to San Francisco Mum?"
Jenn shook her head. "It's for you Cass." She swallowed and continued. "Your dad wants to spend some time with you this Summer, he wants to make up for.."
"Hold up right there." Cassidy stood up. The look on her face was murderous. "Whose dad? You mean your husband?"
Jenn came closer and held Cassidy's hands but she shoved them. "I can't believe you want to ruin my first summer holiday Mum!"
"Cass, it's just a summer holiday in San Francisco, not a death sentence."
"It is to me, Mum. I mean of all places to spend my holiday, why hauling me away to meet that man?"
"He's your father." Jenn reminded and Cassidy scoffed.
"And he's sorry."
"What exactly is he sorry for? For abandoning us when we needed him? For being abusive or chasing after other women? Which of them, mum?"
Jenn sighed. This was going to be a tough nut, no doubt. But she decided to press on regardless.
"Baby he's changed now, please allow him to make amends. He was just frustrated after he lost his job, it's not like him."
"Why are you always making excuses for him Mum? You just forgave him just like that?" Cassidy's blood was getting heated. Her mother's soft-hearted nature was always driving her crazy.
"He deserves forgiveness babe." She held Cassidy's cheeks. "He is still your dad no matter what, besides," She chuckled and went on. "He promised to spoil you when you get to San Francisco. Plus, he's applying for a transfer to Oakland immediately after Christmas. We'll be a happy family soon."
Cassidy rolled her eyes. As if she needed to hear any of that. As far as she was concerned that man didn't deserve the second chance that her mum was offering him but trust Mrs. Jenn Stewart, her heart was the softest she had ever seen. She just needed to see a tear whether fake or real, and she would go all in. "You are just too soft, Mother."
She breathed and slumped on the couch.
Jenn sat down beside her. "Cass, it's just a month and some weeks. It can't be that bad?"
"Yeah, that's how much you want to get rid of me, booking a flight even before I come back. For crying out loud, I haven't even spent up to a day in this house Mum! and you are hauling me away! Not fair."
"I feared you wouldn't agree if I had told you before booking a flight."
"You think I can't back out now?"
"I know you can Cass, I am just pleading. Do it for me, baby, please."
Cassidy exhaled deeply. She had no choice but to budge. Her hopes of having a fun-filled summer holiday with her friends just came crashing down at her feet. Her mum was hauling her away to a place she had no idea if it was safe for her at all. The way she had immediately trusted the man that abused them for years, was what she couldn't decipher. Was he worth it? She said he had changed. Well, it was left for her to find out. "On one condition."
"Anything baby," Jenn replied, relief written all over her face.
"I'm going to cut short this Holiday and go back to Berkeley, if he lays his hands on me or if I notice any of his old behaviors. Plus you will never set your eyes on me again, ever." She said, meaning every word of it.
"Deal," Jenn replied with a smile.
"I mean it, Mum."
"I guarantee you nothing of that sort will happen."
"You already know him that well huh?
Jenn laughed and stood up, holding her handbag. "My baby will never stop being funny."
"When am I being hauled away?"
"Baby it's not like that."
"I don't care mum, when?"
"Okay. It's tomorrow morning."
"Great," She stood up and folded her hands across her chest. "You can't wait to get rid of me, I understand."
Jenn cupped her cheeks. "Cupcake no, I will miss you so much. You think I am happily sending you to San Francisco?"
"If you are not, then why is it so soon?"
"He pleaded with me." Cassidy arched a questioning brow. "The only day he would have time to come pick you up is tomorrow morning. The company he works for is organizing a seminar/workshop so from tomorrow he will be busy."
Cassidy shrugged. "It's all good. Good thing I haven't unpacked. I just need to add a few things."
Jenn glanced at her watch and back at Cassidy. "You will be, fine cupcake, I promise. Let me rush off now unless you want me to be queried for being late."
Cassidy shook her head. "No, I don't. Go on."
"I will be back before you know it."
Cassidy nodded and managed a smile. "Have a nice day Mum."
Jenn knew that smile wasn't from her heart but she understood nevertheless, she needed time to process it all and understand that she was just trying to reunite them together after all these years they were apart. "Please walk me out, babe."
Cassidy nodded and followed her mum outside. She opened the gigantic gate as her mum entered the car and turned on the ignition.
Jenn smiled and waved at her daughter as she drove out. Cassidy waved back and closed the gate. She walked back to the house and straight to her room.
Time to make a few calls and break the sad news to her friends, especially her best friend Jessie.
If someone had woken her up yesterday morning in Berkeley and told her she wouldn't be spending her summer holiday at Oakland as she had expected, that instead she would be bundled up and sent to the man that made her and her mum miserable for years. She would have suggested to her friends that they stay back in Berkeley.
Coming home to meet a plane ticket to hell, what a perfect summer holiday. She remembered tons of bucket lists she and her friends had prepared and the places they had planned to explore.
They would be very disappointed, especially her best friend Jessie.
She would want to follow her to San Francisco. Jessie loved her like hell. The rest of their friends had once thought they were dating, because of the way they couldn't let go of each other, especially Jessie. For one, Jessie was gay, everyone knows that but she,
Well, she was bisexual but none of her friends knew that, not even Jessie. Not that she was being intentionally secretive, she just felt that If Jessie found out her sexuality she'd hit on her.
She felt it was best she doesn't explore the gay side of her. What would her mum do if she found out that her only daughter was gay? She couldn't imagine.
Jessie was her best friend since their sophomore year in high school. They met Kaylee and Ocean during their senior year.
She and Jessie were roommates at Berkeley. Then Kaylee and Ocean lived opposite their room. Most times they all slept together in her room. She and Jessie were in the same department_Arts and Design while Ocean and Kaylee opted for English literature.
It was her idea to spend the summer holiday in Oakland now they were going to kill her. Who would blame her? She was just playing the role of a loving daughter who wouldn't want her mum to miss her this summer. Who would have thought she would be bundled up to San Francisco?
Her phone rang, jolting her out of her thoughts.
She looked at the screen and it was Jessie calling her on FaceTime. "Troublesome kid!" She muttered before picking up. Jessie's face appeared on the screen.
"Hey, you."
"Cass, how despicable can you be? You didn't even call to let me know when you arrived home. As if that wasn't enough, you ignored my calls for the rest of the night! Did I do anything?" Jessie howled.
"Good morning Jess." Cassidy greeted stifling a laugh.
"It's funny huh?"
Cassidy burst into laughter. "Throughout the night? Girl, is that how much you want to hear my voice?"
Jessie rolled her eyes. "Of course, I have missed you." She pouted.
"We only parted ways yesterday Jess."
"Still," Jessie stared at her. "Girl you are still in your pajamas, don't tell me you haven't showered?"
"Nope." Cassidy shook her head. "Come on it's just," She stared at her wall clock. "It's just 8:00."
"So? I believe you have eaten right?"
"Of course."
"Go take a shower. I don't want my baby carrying a bedhead around."
Cassidy chuckled. "Your baby?"
Jessie threw her a questioning look. "Don't tell me I have been replaced?"
"Geez Jess! By whom, please?" Cassidy asked, throwing her hands in the air.
Jessie shrugged. "I don't know, you tell me."
Cassidy smiled. This young lady wouldn't let her rest, would she? "No one replaced you, Jess."
"Then you are still my baby?"
"Yeah, I am. Happy now?"
Jessie nodded. "Yes, baby. How's mum?"
"She's fine, it hasn't been long since she left for work."
"So you are home alone or with someone?" Jessie winked at her.
"Gosh Jess of course I am home alone. Who could I possibly be with?"
"Your secret boyfriend that you are cheating on me with." Cassidy chuckled. Jessie is always claiming ownership of her as if they were a couple. Anyone listening to their conversation would have sworn they were dating. Kaylee and Ocean thought so in high school but they had gotten used to Jessie's obsession with Cassidy. "I don't have a secret boyfriend, Jess, why are you all dressed up?" She asked, gesturing at her outfit.
"I was about to come to your house, let's go have some fun."
Cassidy shook her head. "The fun part is a 'No' for me."
"Why? You are not feeling too well?"
Cassidy swallowed. She knew she wasn't ready for Jessie's reaction once she heard the news but she had to do it_break the news. "I'm leaving for San Francisco tomorrow morning, mum said I will be spending my summer holiday with her husband. She has already booked..."
"Wait a minute Cass, you must be kidding me," Jessie asked with a furrowed eyebrow and Cassidy shook her head.
"I kid you not, Jess."
"You know what, say no more. I'm coming to your house right away." Jessie finished and ended the FaceTime even before Cassidy could say anything.
Cassidy shrugged. The tigress was definitely on her way to unleash. She left her bed and jumped into the bathroom. If Jessie got here and she was still in her pajamas, she might as well start killing her right away.
Twenty minutes later she was out of the shower spray and in front of her closet. She settled for a tank top and bum shorts.
She sat in front of her dressing mirror, drying her hair with her hair dryer. She heard her horn from outside. The Tigress had arrived.
She left her room in a flash, soon she was opening the smaller gate. Jessie rode in on her bike and parked close to Cassidy's. It was their 18th birthday gift as well as their graduating gift bought by their respective mums.
Immediately she came down, she rushed to Cassidy as if she was some meat she wanted to feast on.
Cassidy wasn't expecting the quick hug but she responded by crossing her arms around her shoulders as Jessie held her waist.
"I have missed you," Jessie whined and Cassidy chuckled.
"Me too."
When they disengaged Jessie kissed her lightly on the lips. 'Geez this girl would never stop doing that would she?' Cassidy thought inwardly.
"Jess, when will you stop harassing my lips? "
Jessie eyes her with a smile. "I'm not. You are my baby."
Cassidy rolled her eyes. "Let's go inside."
Jessie gave her a detailed look. "You are not looking, bad baby."
"Thanks, you too." Jessie was wearing a short leather skirt and a crop top covered slightly by a black leather jacket. Her love for Leather materials.
She loved them too but not as much as Jessie does. She was practically addicted to it.
They got inside the house and into Cassidy's room.
"How I have missed this room." Jessie sang as she inhaled the fragrance that filled the entire room.
"I know right," Cassidy replied as she went straight to her freezer. "What do I offer you bestie?" That was just a formality. She already knew what Jessie likes. What they both liked, rather_cocktails.
Jessie frowned."I'm in no mood for cocktails now baby, you said you are leaving me." She sat down on the bed close to Cassidy.
"Hey, I am not dying even though it feels like I am but it's just a holiday." She was saying that to herself more than to Jessie. She had to convince herself that it was a holiday and not a death sentence as her mother had said.
"But we are not spending it together, that's the point."
Cassidy sighed. Her hands were tied. She was going to miss her friends no doubt but she had to obey her mum.
Both were occupied with their thoughts. Jessie thought about how she was going to be apart from her best friend for a month and some weeks, possibly. She was happy they were finally granted a long holiday but now she more than wished that the holidays would be canceled. She has gotten so used to having Cassidy by her side that a day without her seems like a part of her was gone. Though they weren't dating, which she somehow wished they were because she is the only woman she could love genuinely. She had refused dating just because of Cassidy. Too bad Cassidy was straight. She respected her decision for them to be just best friends and nothing more, but at least she granted her the privilege of playing around with her just a little bit which she enjoyed.
Now she was going away from her all in the name of a goddamn holiday in San Francisco.
"Have you told the others?" She asked out of the blue.
Cassidy shook her head. "You should."
"Ocean is going to kill me." Cassidy pouted.
"She won't, I will make sure of that."
The call was made and just as Cassidy expected Her friends weren't cool with the news. Ocean huffed and puffed on the phone, and Kaylee was sighing endlessly.
They decided to come over to Cassidy's. The call ended.
The next few minutes were spent arranging the stuff that Cassidy would take to San Francisco. Good a thing she hadn't unpacked because she was in no mood to start packing all over again.
"Why did you say that it feels like you're dying? I mean he's your dad, right? And you guys have settled your disputes right?" Jessie suddenly asked.
Cassidy's face became expressionless. This was a part of her past she didn't want to share because recounting the experience would make her back out. She said she had forgiven but it still hurts.
"Jess, I don't want to talk about it."
"There you go again, Cass. Back then in sophomore year when it all happened, you refused to share, I let you be. Afterward, if I bring it up your mood changes and I thought it was best I let you heal. Now that everything is settled, you still don't want to share?"
Where was she going to start? Was it the endless night he came home drunk, raped, and molested her mum. Or was it the endless assault he received from him after he might have beaten her mum to unconsciousness? She fought back the tears that threatened to escape. She smiled at Jessie whose face was already contorted in a frown.
"I will share, baby I promise, but not now. Okay?"
Jessie Shrugged. "Whatever you want babe."
"But," Jessie continued and Cassidy looked up at her. "I may end up coming for you."
Cassidy narrowed her eyebrows. "Coming for me?"
"Yes. I still have things I need to do for Mum, that's why I'm not following you straight away but I will when I am done."
Cassidy stared at her. "Really?"
Jessie nodded. "Really."
Cassidy grinned wildly "I would love that, seriously."
"Just don't tell Ocean and Kaylee." Jessie half whispered and they laughed.
Ocean and Kaylee arrived immediately after they finished packing and putting things in order.
It dawned on them that Cassidy was indeed leaving.
Each of them wore a swollen face as though she was embarking on a journey of no return.
"I need you girls to cheer me up, not this."
"We shouldn't have come back, Cassidy." Ocean began her whining all over again.
"Not again Ocean." Jessie and Kaylee replied simultaneously. Ocean pouted and Cassidy burst into laughter.
"I know right? Don't worry I will be back before you girls know it." Cassidy said, rubbing Ocean's cheeks and she nodded.
"Summer will be boring without you Cass." Kaylee joined in the whining and Jessie nodded in affirmation.
"It will be for me too, girls."
An idea hit Jessie and she leaped causing others to stare at her.
"Why don't we check out the MacDonald smoothie and milkshakes before Cass leaves, what do you girls think?"
"Good idea." Ocean concurred.
Cassidy and Kaylee supported the idea, and Cassidy flew to her wardrobe in search of something suitable to wear.
Minutes later, they rode on their respective bikes on their way to MacDonald's smoothie and milkshakes.
The knock came again, louder than the first one. Loud enough to bring back a tired Kristen from the world of oblivion. She groaned. The last thing she needed right now was someone interrupting her sleep. Plus she didn't see her tired self waking up to go get that door.
Whoever it was should go and come back later. She sighed and turned to the other side of the bed.
The knock came the third time, this time it came with several bangings.
"Geez sis!! Would you rather I sleep outside here after returning from a long journey!!."
Her eyes snapped open as the voice came to her. It was her sister.
She sprang up from the bed and rushed to the door. She was going to kill her today.
She turned the doorknob and it opened, revealing a slender girl with black hair, dressed in a pink tank top and high waist-black trousers, carrying a suitcase with anger masking her beautiful face.
Kristen scratched her head and looked at her pleadingly.
"Forgive me Cara, I was way tired. I slept off."
"Sis I knocked three good times. Just tell me you resurrected from death 'cause I don't know you to be a heavy sleeper." Cara finished and marched inside, leaving the suitcase for her sister to carry. Kristen smiled, dragged the suitcase inside, and closed the door.
"Big sis can't get a hug I presume?" She teased and Cara turned a deaf ear as she sat down on the couch, flinging her backpack to the other couch.
Kristen knew she needed a little more petting before she would come around. She had told her on the phone that she would be coming back from school today. That was mainly the reason she came home. Otherwise, she would be in one of her numerous girls' houses getting a relaxing massage and a lovely treatment after several days of stressful photo shoots. She bit her lips.
"I'm sorry baby." She pressed on and Cara pouted.
"From Berkeley, I got stood at the door by my sister." She still whined regardless and Kristen chuckled.
"It won't happen again I promise, cross my heart." She indicated the 'cross my heart' with her thumb across her chest.
"I have heard you," Cara replied though her face was still contorted in a mock frown.
"Can I get a hug now?" Kristen requested as she spread her arms wide.
Cara got up and attempted to go inside the room to tease her sister further.
"Caramel!!!" Kristen yelled and Cara burst into laughter. She turned and ran into her sister's arms.
"I was just kidding sis, how can I turn down a hug from you." She said as she rested her head on Kristen's chest.
Kristen exhaled deeply. "You scared me, baby." She began playing with her hair and Cara giggled.
"I have missed you so much, my baby."
"I miss you more Kris."
"No baby, I miss you more."
Cara wiggled out of her hold and pouted. "Sis you know I miss you more, stop dragging it with me." She whined and Kristen raised her hands in defeat.
"Okay baby, you win." Cara nodded and smiled.
"I hope the flight back home didn't stress my baby?"
"It did, sis," Cara replied, squeezing her face to her sister's amusement.
"I'm sorry baby. So how's Berkeley?"
"As large as life!" Cara replied with a grin.
"So I assume that you are enjoying the school?" Cara nodded. "And that my money is being used wisely?" Kristen arched a questioning brow and Cara chuckled.
"You know you can trust me, sis."
"That's my girl." She opened her arms again and Cara jumped in like a baby jumping into her mother's arms.
Well, Kristen was the mother and father she had since six years ago their parents died. Kristen took up the responsibility of being a parent. Catering for her needs and seeing her through school. It made the death of their parents bearable for Her. Unlike Kristen who wasn't deeply touched by their death, because they had disowned her since she came out to them, during her first year in college. Two years before they met their Waterloo. They banned her from coming home and stopped sponsoring her. She took up the responsibility herself with the help of her fashion modeling career which was at its early stage and the money her sister used to steal from their parents for her sake.
After their parents died in a car accident, they moved out of the house and rented another place, in downtown San Francisco to ease Cara the pain of remembering them. She was in her third year and her career was slowly kicking off.
Now a popular fashion model, making a lot of cash, she was able to send her sister to the University of her dreams_University Of California, Berkeley, as a way of appreciating her for being there when no one else was.
As soon as they disengaged Cara yawned. "Sis, I'm hungry, is there anything in the freezer?"
Thank God there were leftover cookies and burgers in the freezer otherwise, Kristen would be forced to engage in one task which she detest most_Cooking.
She loved food, Yeah but she'd rather order takeout than touch pots, and spoons or go close to the gas. That was what she had survived on since Cara left for Berkeley.
"The leftovers from the cookies and burgers I bought on my way back, you can make do with them alongside the juice in the freezer right? Kristen asked as she scratched her head.
Cara chuckled. "Of course, I have to make do with it because my elder sister can't even boil water." She finished with a laugh.
"Hey that's a lie and you know it." She pouted and her sister continued laughing. "At least I can make coffee."
"Yeah right, am supposed to clap for you right?" Cara made to clap her hands but Kristen reached for them and twisted them playfully behind her back. "Ouch! That hurts." Cara winced fake fully and Kristen let go. "See I got you." She stuck out her tongue and Kristen chuckled.
She reached for her and hugged her. "Feels so good to have you back, baby."
"I'm glad I'm home."
"Now, go and eat and get settled, I will run your bath," Kristen said after they disengaged. "And maybe," Cara was already eyeing her; she knew that the 'maybe' was not going to pass making lunch. Kristen chuckled and continued. "You can make lunch after that." She finished with a wide grin that spread across her face.
"I knew that was what you were going to say." Kristen laughed. "You love food so much but you can't cook to save your own life." Cara sang and Kristen rolled her eyes. Cara shook her head. "That doesn't look good on you sis."
"Whatever Caramel, go get settled will you."
Cara, who was about to enter the room, turned with a faked angry face.
"And when did you start calling me Caramel?" She shot her a questioning look.
"Really?" Kristen asked and Cara nodded. "Isn't that your given name?"
"So?" Cara rolled her eyes. "It's Cara to you and my friends, Caramel was for Mum and Dad. Duh."
Kristen dragged her sister inside along with her suitcase.
"Drama queen." She mouthed and Cara burst into laughter.
This was their usual banter, whenever Cara was around. That way they didn't miss their parents so much, especially Cara. They had each other's backs, making each other smile. The only time Kristen would smile or engage in conversations apart from her work, was when she was with Cara. If Cara wasn't there, she would be all mean face, with nods when necessary.
Even the numerous girls she had slept with couldn't bring out this side of her. That way it was easier to maintain no attachments with them.
The most important thing in her life was Caramel followed by her work. These two things she cherished.
She was a fashion model in male clothing. Her looks matched with her superb body structure made her photoshoots so amazing that when they appear on TV screens or the cover pages of magazines people couldn't help but marvel at this artistic beauty or rather handsomeness. She was beautiful as well as handsome.
She was known as an all-rounder.
She looked gorgeous in female clothes but not as magnificent as she looked whenever she dressed up in male attire. Kristen was the dream of every lady and the fear of most men. Seeing how irresistible she looked, guys couldn't help but get gripped with the fear of losing their wives, girlfriends, and finances to her.
She had gotten advances from her co-fashion models even from the top official. She wasn't interested in attachment, she would always maintain but anyone that tasted her once would love to have her all to herself.
As far as Kristen was concerned, none of them had gotten an inch closer to breaking those walls of no attachments.
Cara freshened up after she had cookies and burgers, and got busy in the kitchen, she was preparing spaghetti they would eat for lunch. Kristen sat down on one of the chairs and leaned against the table attached to it. Cara had changed into sweatpants and a tank top. Kristen was wearing a baggie of shorts and a sports vest. She liked wearing free clothes at home after being stuffed into tight trousers and shirts at work, sometimes Tuxedos.
Sometimes when she was alone she would go around the house half-naked to get some fresh air.
Sitting in the kitchen keeping her sister company while she cooked and they made jokes together. She figured since she couldn't cook to save her life, she should at least stay with her while they laughed and made jokes together.
Cara was already boiling the spaghetti and cutting the needed ingredients like onions, peas, and carrots but that was after she was done frying the chicken laps.
Kristen sat opposite her admiring the way she cut everything skillfully and with confidence. She seems to be enjoying what she was doing. Anyways, which woman in her right senses wouldn't enjoy cooking, well except her.
The only thing that would bring her near a gas was boiling water for brewing coffee, any other activities except that would be a total disaster, that was if she would even agree to it anyways.
Seeing Cara in that yellow apron cutting those ingredients skillfully reminded her of one person she regretted meeting. Just like she adored Cara's cooking was the way she adored hers. Cooking for her then had been her hobby and just like she sat keeping Cara company, that was the way she would sit and keep her company. They would make turns of jokes while exchanging passionate stares.
Sometimes she would creep behind her back and hold her waist while she cooked. She in turn would bend slightly and rub her ass against her already wet center. They would end up making love right there in the kitchen.
She was skillful and endowed in all ramifications, In the kitchen and in bed. The way her mouth would send her body throbbing with ecstasy. Just then she recollected herself.
'Geez Kris!' She exclaimed inwardly and pushed away the thought from her head. She willed herself to focus on the food being prepared by her one and only sister and not drift away into the world that almost swallowed her very existence.
But that was far from possible as her mind drifted off on its own and into memory lane_ into her past. The thoughts of Taylor taking the chair.
