Chapter 1 Torment and Triumph

Danielle's Perspective On Wednesday

"Danielle, wake up!!" My mother screamed from the basement.

I'm Danielle and I'm seventeen years old. April 24th is my birthdate, and I presently reside with my two incredible parents, Jacob and Anna

It had been years of tension and despair, but finally, senior year had arrived.

My worry was solely caused by a well-known bully named Jack during my freshman year of school; it had nothing to do with the academic aspect of the curriculum.

Finally, he doesn't mind joining his friends, Cameron and Ash, in torturing other people. They did a fantastic job of escalating their insults on me.

And even though it seemed like they were all jerks, Jack wasn't. They don't actually engage with him, thus I'm not sure if he can really be considered a friend.

Jack had to be the poorest of the three.

retrospect

Jack shouted, "Get up, whore".

I struggled to stand up, but because of my frailty, the floor felt cold to me.

I eventually got to my feet and proceeded to the girl's bathroom, where I saw the horrifying sight on my body. My arms and legs were covered in bruises.

All I wanted was for the pain to stop, but it didn't seem conceivable because my body was trembling all over the place.

I pulled out my razor, ready to take it all down.

ten cuts, one, two, three, and so forth.

I was able to stop shaving and clean my arms of the blood that was flowing. I was so afraid of making touch with anyone else that I nearly sprinted out of the bathroom after I was done.

I felt someone's fist making contact with my cheek, and I failed terribly. I glanced up and saw Jack grinning and peering down from above. He still hadn't had enough even after that........Final Flashback

The memories of the night was just terrifying when I woke up. I detested having to live for the never-ending torment that lay ahead of me despite everything I had gone through.

All I wanted to do after that day was pass away. Had it not been for my parents' desire to get help, I doubt that I would have carried out my initial plan to commit suicide.

Sadly, the assistance my parents provided me with ended after two months, and I started cutting again.

The present....

It was now 7:15, and I had finished getting ready, hair, and makeup and despite the fact that everyone criticises my appearance, I've always struggled to get up early in order to improve.

I would be "absolutely disgusting" to look at without my makeup.

My folks met me when I came downstairs once I was finished and ready.

"Good morning, Danielle," my folks said.

I replied, "good morning".

My mother said, "We made you some pancakes."

I strolled over to the table and started eating with them, saying "thank you."

"Honey, we have some exciting news!" My mother nearly screamed.

"oh, what is it?" I said. "We are going out to dinner on Friday with some old friends and during dinner we are going to announce some important news," my parents replied.

"Excellent," I said, speculating as to what their potentially noteworthy news would be. However, nothing immediately sprang to mind, so I suppose I'll just have to wait and see.

-Getting to school: When I got there, I noticed them waiting outside so they could humiliate and torment me in front of the entire school.

"Look who just showed up," Cameron exclaimed. "It's the slut," Jack shot back.

I sprinted as quickly as I could to avoid getting harmed, but Jack and Cameron charged at me. I felt someone tug my hair back once they got close to me, and I realised it was Jack.

"Don't you know you can't be wearing that because you're too out of shape" Jack chuckled.

I won't lie: that broke me even more than it has already. You also don't know this about me, but I have a very sensitive side. For the smallest things, I cry. A flood of heated tears ran down my cheeks.

Jack remarked, "Cam, look, the slut is crying."

When they heard me, the entire school burst out laughing. Up until I started experiencing back pain, my only emotions at the moment were extreme grief and rage. When I realised that Jack had shoved me, I was on the ground, struggling to get to my feet. As I struggled to stand up, everyone laughed, but nobody had the courage to come to my aid. I attempted to stand up, but I was too frail. Everything was becoming hazy, making it difficult for me to see or

understand what was going on.

Jack's perspective

Being able to stand above her gave me a great sense of power at that moment. I stopped as soon as I saw Cameron stop.

Cam shouted, "Hey Jack, she's not moving." I responded, "Let's go before we get in trouble."

Danielle's Perspective: Later that day, when I woke up, I discovered that I was at the hospital rather than at school. I looked around the room and saw my parents asleep. Before long, my mother started to stir up and jumped to see that I was awake.

"Hi honey, how are you feeling?" I answered "fine" when my mother asked me because I didn't know how to respond. All I can recall is that when I got to school, Cameron and Jack hurt me and everyone laughed at me, but that's all I can recall. I would have to make up a lie because I knew I couldn't tell my parents about this; otherwise, they would just assume I needed help.

My mother advised me to "get some rest and not think about it too much," and I chose to take a nap after realising she was right.

Jack's perspective

I heard my family talking about their friend's kid getting harmed as we were having dinner, but I didn't really care and didn't pay attention.

"Jack!" My mother exclaimed, "What!?" I said, "Did you hear what me and you're father just told you?" We were just discussing the dinner we are about to attend with some old friends," I said in response to her question. "Um, no sorry," my mother said. "Wait, I have to go? Why not?" I said "Yes, because during dinner we are going to announce some important news." My mom stated

Chapter 2 Struggling to Stand

Danielle's perspective on Thursday

The sound of my parents conversing awakened me.

My folks said, "Good morning." I said, "How are you feeling, honey?" My dad inquired "I guess I feel better than I did yesterday so that's good I guess." I responded "The doctor just told me that you could go home whenever you are ready" my mother responded "Great then, let's go because I just wanna go home and sleep on my bed" Later that day, I woke up and noticed it was 5:47 p.m., I replied. I got out of bed and went to check on my folks' dinner preparations downstairs. I experienced some vertigo as I descended the stairs, but I persisted. When I reached the top step of the stairs, my vision became cloudy and I was unable to see well.

"Honey, are you okay?"asked my father

Then, though, I simply passed out.

Cameron's perspective

To be honest, I felt a little sorry for Danielle, but Jack assured me that she deserved much more than what she is receiving. I truly don't want our friendship to end, and I just hurt her to make Jack happy. Therefore, I suppose my only option is to ruin her life.

Danielle's perspective

I was lying on the couch when I noticed I was awake, so I got up and went to the kitchen since I was really hungry. I went to settle down and eat when I noticed my parents were eating and that they had already given me some food. My parents were chatting nonstop during dinner about the wonderful news they wanted to share with me and how it would alter my entire life.

My mom informed my dad, "Honey, I guess if Danielle doesn't feel well we can't go."

"Don't worry, Mom; I'll be alright." I said, "I swear, I was just lightheaded from not eating enough." My father agreed, saying, "Hayley is correct, that won't happen again because she feels better and has eaten." My mother said, "Okay, I guess."I felt so exhausted after supper that I walked up to my room and got ready for bed. The "important" news that would "change my life" and the dinner with my parents' old friends tomorrow both caused me a great deal of anxiety. If my life does change, I want it to be for the better since I need to be happy in order to survive.

Chapter 3 A Night of Twist

Danielle's perspective On Friday

When I realised it was seven in the morning, I got out of bed and headed downstairs to have breakfast.

My parents said "good morning" together. "Good morning," I responded. I took a seat at the table and we began eating breakfast together. We spoke for a while, but when I looked at the clock, it was 7:50, and I had to leave for school at eight. Oh no.

My mother said to me, "Honey, it's okay you're not going to school." "Really?" I inquired "Yeah, your father and I agreed that you would return to school on Monday" and she responded "Thank you guys so much" "Later today, your father and I are going to your school to get your homework," I replied. "Okay, sounds great so I don't get behind," she said. Later that day, I went up to my room and took a shower. My mom said, "Honey, we got your homework from school." "Thanks, I'll get started on it right now." "Actually, you and I are going to the mall to find you a dress for tonight." "Okay, sounds great I'll go get ready," I replied. I changed into some clothing and headed downstairs after getting out.

-"All right, mom, I'm ready," I said after getting ready. "All right, let's go so we can come back and get ready," she answered. At the mall, we visited a lot of stores, but I was unable to find a dress. My mom got me a set that included a necklace and earrings when we went to Kay's. I made the decision to visit Forever 21. When I arrived, I discovered the ideal dress. The dress was red in colour and styled like a skater. I also discovered some basic black heels. We then proceeded to pay before I had my nails, cosmetics, and hair done at a salon.

Jack's perspective

*Ring ring* My mother was phoning when I picked up the phone.

"Hello?" "Mom, I'm so sorry, I totally forgot I'll be there in no time," she said. "Jack, get home right now. Did you not remember about the dinner we are going to?" She questioned. "Ok, bye," I replied. "I was at Cam's house, which was not too far from my house."

I said, "Cam, I have to go. I'll see you later." He answered, "Okay, bye." I started walking to my house, but since it was 5:27 and the event wasn't until 6 o'clock, I started sprinting. At 5:34 p.m., I arrived home and went to my room to change and take a shower. I noticed a suit with the inscription, "Wear the suit for dinner," lying on my bed when I came out of the shower. I love you, mom.

I suppose wearing this suit was my only option. I thought to myself as I looked in the mirror after putting on the suit: I look handsome. I'm too excellent for anyone.

Danielle's perspective-at home-

I had plenty of time to get ready because it was 5:00 pm when we arrived home. I put on my heels, my dress, and the jewellery my mother had bought me in the shopping centre.

-When she was ready, she exclaimed, "Danielle, it's time to go!" My father screamed from downstairs.

From Jack's perspective, "Hurry up, we're about to go!" My mother cried out from the basement.

I quickly straightened my hair, put on some cologne, and got dressed. Upon coming downstairs, my dad gave me a box. I found a gold watch when I opened it. He must have spent a lot of money on it.

"Really dad?" I inquired, "Of course, son," to which my father replied. I hugged him and expressed my gratitude. We all got in the car and drove to the restaurant after that.
