Elise had always felt like an outsider in her own life. She had a strange, unexplainable energy building inside her, and she couldn't shake the feeling that she was being watched.
That night, at the Moonlight Masquerade, Elise wore a stunning red gown and a mask that shimmered like diamonds. She danced and laughed with her friend Sophie, feeling carefree for the first time in weeks.
It's also the night the ancient witches choose the heir to the covens and also bestowed the witch the first three Wiccan covens.
As the night wore on, Elise felt a strange, unsettling energy building inside her. She tried to shake it off, but it only grew stronger.
Meanwhile, a mysterious figure stood alone, his eyes scanning the crowd with an intensity that made people shiver. He was searching for something or someone.
I think I've had enough for tonight. Let's get out of here. Elise said looking around her surrounding
Elise, what's wrong? You look like you've seen a ghost. Sophie, who was having a great time, looked at her friend concerned.
I just feel like something's off. And I keep hearing strange noises. She added
Strange noises? What kind of noises?
I don't know...whispers, I guess. And footsteps. But whenever I turn around, no one's there. Eloise said now sounding more serious than before.
Oh, Elise, you're just spooking yourself. Let's go get some fresh air and clear your head. Sophie said teasingly.
No, Sophie, I'm serious. I think we should leave. Now. She stated firmly.
Fine, but if we leave, I'm blaming you for ruining my night. Sophie sighed as she realized there's no way she'll be able to keep Elise stay longer
(They make their way through the crowd, but Elise can't shake off the feeling that she's being watched)
Do you feel that? Elise asked. Feel what? Sophie asked, confused about what was going on.
Like we're being herded towards something. Or someone. She added nervously.
Elise, you're starting to freak me out.
(Suddenly, the lights flicker and the music stops)
What's happening?
I don't know! Elise answered
"I don't like this," she said, her voice trembling slightly. "Let's go back inside and find the others."
"But what was that noise?" her friend asked, her eyes scanning the darkness.
"I don't know, but I don't want to find out. Come on."
As they turned to go back inside, a figure emerged from the shadows. "You shouldn't be out here," he growled, his eyes gleaming with a fierce intensity.
"What do you want?" she demanded, trying to keep her voice steady.
"You're in danger," he replied, his voice low and urgent. "You need to come with me."
"I'm not going anywhere with you," she said, trying to step back, but her friend grabbed her arm.
"Wait," her friend said. "How do we know we can trust you?"
The stranger's eyes flashed with anger, but then he seemed to regain control of himself. "You don't have a choice," he said grimly. "Come with me, or face the consequences."
"I don't think so," she said, trying to sound braver than she felt. "We're not going anywhere with you."
The stranger's face twisted in a snarl. "Fine," he spat. "But don't say I didn't warn you."
With that, he turned and disappeared into the darkness, leaving the two women staring after him in confusion.
"What was that all about?" her friend whispered.
"I don't know, but I don't like it," she replied, her heart still racing from the encounter.
As they turned to go back inside, she couldn't shake the feeling that they were being watched. She glanced over her shoulder but saw nothing.
"Let's get out of here," her friend said, her voice trembling. "I don't feel safe."
But as they reached the door, they found it locked. "What the...?" her friend muttered, tugging on the handle.
"Looks like we're stuck out here," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.
And then, they heard the footsteps. Heavy, deliberate footsteps came from the darkness.
"Oh no," her friend whispered, her eyes wide with fear. "What do we do?"
"Shh," she replied, her heart racing. "Don't make a sound."
The footsteps grew louder and closer. She could feel the ground vibrating beneath her feet.
Suddenly, a hand clamped over her mouth, and she was dragged backward into the darkness. Her friend screamed, but the sound was muffled by some unseen force.
She struggled and kicked, but her captor was too strong. She was pulled deeper into the shadows, her friend's cries growing fainter.
Just when she thought all was lost, she was dropped to the ground, gasping for breath. She looked up to see a figure looming over her, its features obscured by the darkness.
"Who are you?" she demanded, trying to keep her voice steady.
The figure didn't respond. Instead, it reached out and pulled off her mask.
She felt a jolt of fear as her face was exposed. "What do you want from me?" she pleaded.
The figure still didn't speak. But as the moonlight illuminated its features, she saw something that made her blood run cold......a face that was identical to her own.
She gasped, shocked. "Who are you?" she demanded again, trying to scramble backward.
The doppelganger didn't move. It simply stared at her with an unblinking gaze.
Suddenly, her friend appeared beside her, shaking and pale. "What's going on?" she whispered. The doppelganger slowly raised its hand, and her friend froze. "Don't move," it said in an eerily familiar voice.
She tried to speak, but her voice was caught in her throat. The doppelganger began to circle around her, its eyes fixed on her with an unnerving intensity.
"You're me," she whispered finally, her mind reeling. "But how?"
The doppelganger didn't respond. Instead, it reached out and touched her face. She felt a jolt of electricity, and suddenly, visions flooded her mind...
Memories that weren't her own. A life she'd never lived. A past that was hidden from her.
She stumbled backward, overwhelmed. "What's happening?" she cried.
The doppelganger's gaze never wavered. "You're remembering," it said. "You're finally remembering."
And with that, everything went black...
As the room spun around her, she felt a surge of memories flood her mind. She saw herself as a child, playing in a grand castle. She saw herself as a teenager, wielding a sword with deadly precision. And she saw herself as a young woman, standing beside a man who wore a crown. The memories were fragmented and unclear.
The doppelganger's laughter grew louder, more maniacal. "You're remembering," it repeated. "You're finally remembering."
She stumbled forward, her eyes fixed on the doppelganger. "Who am I?" she demanded. "What am I meant to do?"
The doppelganger's grin grew wider. "You're the queen," it said. "The queen of a forgotten kingdom. And you're meant to reclaim your throne."
As the words echoed in her mind, the room stopped spinning. She felt a sense of clarity, of purpose. She knew what she had to do.
With a fierce determination, she turned to face the doppelganger. "I'll do it," she said. "I'll reclaim my throne."
The doppelganger's laughter stopped. Its eyes narrowed. "You'll never succeed," it spat. "You'll never be queen." She said, repeating the sentence over and over till Elise's mind was filled and haunted with it.
Deuce's eyes narrowed as he listened to the beta's words. "A new Wiccan of the witches, you say? With power connected to the moon?"
Lucas nodded, his voice barely above a whisper. "Yes, Deuce. And if she harnesses it, it could mean the end of us all." I was in the courtyard when the moon portal opened, revealing a white globe emanating from it. He added.
Deuce's grip on the chair tightened. He had always known that witches were a threat, but this was different. This was a power that could destroy their very existence. "What do we know about her?" he growled.
"Not much," the beta admitted. "But we know she's young, inexperienced. If we can get to her before she learns to control her power..."
Deuce's mind was already racing with plans. He would not let this threat slide. He would do whatever it took to protect his pack, even if it meant taking out the new queen herself.
He stood up, his eyes fixed on the beta. "I want to know everything about her. Where she is, what she's capable of, everything."
Lucas nodded and scurried off, leaving Deuce to his thoughts. He knew that this would be a dangerous mission, but he was willing to risk it all to ensure the survival of his pack.
Little did he know, the new queen was not one to be underestimated.
Elise regained consciousness, she found herself in a cozy, dimly lit room, surrounded by strange artifacts and the soothing scent of herbs. Her aunt, the queen of the witches there, 's not yet been a leader of the coven ever since Elise's mother died. She sat beside her, gently stroking her hair.
"Welcome back, dear one," Gabrielle whispered. "You've been through a lot. But you're safe now."
She tried to sit up, but a wave of dizziness washed over her. Her aunt helped her lie back down, offering her a warm, comforting smile.
"What happened?" she asked, trying to piece together the fragmented memories.
"You were attacked by a dark entity," her aunt explained. "But don't worry, I've cast protective spells around us. You're safe here."
She felt a surge of fear. "What does it want from me?"
Her aunt's expression turned serious. "It wants your power, dear one. You have been bestowed a special gift, one that many would love to possess. But don't worry, I'll teach you how to control it, how to protect yourself."
She raised her eyes in confusion. Gabrielle then nodded, Yes you were chosen as the new Wiccan. I expected it since your mother was our Wiccan before she died. She added with a tone of sadness
Elise determination suddenly rose within her. "I'm ready. I want to learn."
Her aunt smiled a hint of pride in her eyes. "I knew you were strong, dear one. Together, we'll unlock your true potential
Her aunt nodded, her eyes filled with warmth. "Rest now, dear one. You've been through a lot. Sophia is in your room, waiting for you. She's brought some of the other witches to help you recover."
She nodded, feeling a sense of relief wash over her. Sophia, her best friend and confidant, was always there for her.
As her aunt helped her settle into bed, she couldn't help but wonder what lay ahead. What did it mean to have this power inside her? And what did the dark entity want from her?
But for now, she was safe. Sophia and Gabrielle are here to protect her.
She closed her eyes, feeling a sense of gratitude towards her aunt and friends. She knew she wasn't alone in this journey.
As she drifted off to sleep, she could hear the soft hum of whispers and the gentle rustling of robes outside her room. The witches were gathering, preparing to defend her against the darkness that lurked beyond.
Deuce's eyes narrowed as he thought about Luca's words. "Lunar magic... it's not like anything we've seen before. It's raw, unpredictable."
Deuce's mind flashed back to his childhood when he was just a cub. The witches had attacked his pack, killing his parents and leaving him with a deep-seated hatred for their kind. He had grown up with a burning desire for revenge and had killed many witches over the years.
The centuries-old feud between the werewolves and witches was well-known, with both sides committing atrocities against each other. His hatred for witches only intensified as he thought about Elise, a powerful witch who was now a potential threat to his pack. He couldn't let his guard down, not even for a moment.
His jaw clenched in anger, he made a silent vow to himself: he would stop at nothing to eliminate Elise and any other witch who dared to threaten his pack's safety. The witches had taken everything from him, and now it was time for him to take revenge.
At the witch's coven......
Elise woke up with a start, her head throbbing in sync with the loud bells ringing in her ears. She groaned loudly, covering her ears with her hands.
"Sophia, what's going on?" she mumbled, her voice husky with sleep.
Sophia burst into the room, a look of excitement on her face. "Elise, wake up! It's time for your first lesson!"
Elise groaned again, rolling over in bed. "Can't it wait? I'm tired."
Sophia shook her head, pulling back the curtains to let in a flood of sunlight. "No way, sleepyhead! You've got a lot to learn, and not much time to waste."
Elise rubbed her eyes, slowly sitting up in bed. She knew Sophia was right - she had a lot to learn if she was going to master her powers and protect herself from the threats lurking in the shadows.
With a sigh, she swung her legs over the side of the bed and stood up, stretching her arms over her head.
Great, be ready and come down for breakfast in ten minutes. Sophie added before resuming her loud bells ringing.
(Minutes later...)
Elise walked downstairs, ready to start her day. She passed through the foyer and by the spell gate, which was disguised as a beautiful garden, complete with lush greenery, vibrant flowers, and even a few animals that seemed to be watching her as she passed.
As she entered the kitchen, she was greeted by the warm aroma of freshly baked bread and the soft hum of conversation. Her aunt, the queen, was already there, sipping a cup of tea and chatting with a wise old owl perched on a nearby stool.
"Good morning, dear," her aunt said, smiling. "I see you're up and about. Sophia, has she been filled in on today's schedule?"
Sophia nodded, pouring Elise a cup of tea. "Yes, Your Majesty. She knows about the lesson."
Elise took a seat at the table, feeling a sense of excitement and trepidation. She knew that today was just the beginning of her journey, and she was ready to face whatever lay ahead.
Her aunt turned to her, her eyes shining with a warm light. "Today, we start your training. You have much to learn, and little time to waste."
After a series of chatting and eating, the breakfast came to an end, and each witch started their spell practices in the courtyard.
Elise's aunt, the queen, smiled as she began the lesson. "Today, we'll focus on controlling your magic. It's essential to learn how to harness your powers, especially with the werewolves and other threats lurking in the shadows."
Elise nodded, eager to learn. She had always struggled with controlling her magic, often resulting in unexpected bursts of energy.
The queen guided Elise to a secluded garden deep within the mansion's grounds. The air was filled with the sweet scent of blooming flowers, and the soft chirping of birds.
"Close your eyes and focus on your inner energy," the queen instructed. "Visualize a spark within you, and slowly nurture it into a flame."
Elise took a deep breath and closed her eyes, trying to concentrate. At first, her mind wandered, but with the queen's gentle guidance, she began to feel a small spark within her.
As she focused on the spark, it grew into a warm, golden light. Elise's eyes snapped open, and she smiled, amazed.
Gabrielle beamed with pride. "Excellent work, Elise! Now, let's try something a bit more challenging..."
Her next instruction was to shape the golden light into a small animal, like a rabbit or a bird. Elise concentrated hard, trying to mold the energy into a specific form. However, her magic seemed to have a mind of its own.
Instead of a rabbit, a bright orange cat appeared before her, its fur standing on end. Elise giggled, surprised. "I didn't mean to create a cat!"
Gabrielle chuckled. "Well, at least you're making progress. But let's try again, shall we?"
Elise nodded, determined. She closed her eyes and focused once more. This time, she managed to create a vague shape, but it was more like a blob than a recognizable animal.
She offered words of encouragement, but Elise couldn't help feeling frustrated. She had been so excited to learn, but now she felt like she was failing.
"I don't understand," Elise said, opening her eyes. "I can feel the magic inside me, but I just can't seem to control it."
Gabrielle placed a gentle hand on Elise's shoulder. "Magic takes time and practice to master, dear. Don't be too hard on yourself. We'll keep trying until you get it right."
Elise nodded, taking a deep breath. She was determined to learn, no matter how difficult it seemed
Elise laughed as she and Sophie tried on silly hats at the market stall. They had spent the day shopping and gossiping, enjoying each other's company. As they admired their reflections, Elise didn't notice the pair of piercing eyes watching her from across the way.
Lucas, the beta, had been tracking Elise for weeks, following the faint hum of magic that only the compass could detect. He had finally found her, and his eyes narrowed as he took in her carefree smile.
As Sophie and Elise continued their shopping spree, he kept a safe distance, his eyes never leaving Elise. He waited for the perfect moment to strike.
That moment came when Sophie exclaimed, "Oh no, my new dress! It's been stolen!" A thief, conveniently appearing out of nowhere, had snatched the bag from Sophie's hands.
In the chaos that followed, Sophie bid Elise farewell, leaving her alone. Lucas saw his chance.
He unwrapped a small leaf filled with a blue powder and blocked his nose with his shirt. The unconscious charm, known to work on all supernatural beings, including werewolves, would render Elise helpless.
With a swift motion, he blew the powder in Elise's direction. The blue dust danced in the air, carrying the sweet scent of blooming flowers, before settling around Elise like a shroud.
Her eyes fluttered closed, and she swayed, unaware of the danger lurking mere feet away. Lucas approached her, his eyes gleaming with a mixture of triumph and curiosity. What would he do with the powerful Lunar Witch now that he had her in his grasp?
Just as he was about to drag Elise away, Sophie reappeared, her eyes blazing with a fierce determination. Her hair, once brown, now flared with a vibrant red, matching the intensity of her gaze.
Without hesitation, Sophie charged at Lucas, tackling him to the ground. Elise's unconscious form slipped from his grasp, and Lucas swiftly drew his dagger, sending it flying towards Sophie.
But Sophie was no ordinary opponent. With her newfound powers surging, she dodged each dagger with ease, her movements lightning-fast. She countered with a ferocity that left Lucas stumbling back.
Just as Sophie seemed to gain the upper hand, a dagger appeared out of nowhere, striking her with deadly precision. She crumpled to the ground, her body dissolving into nothingness.
Lucas's eyes widened in shock, realizing too late that Sophie was a witch. The ancient magic of the covens had protected her, returning her body to the safety of their sacred grounds.
Elise, still unconscious, lay vulnerable on the ground. His gaze snapped back to her, his mind racing with the implications of what had just transpired. He knew he had to get out of there and fast before more witches arrived.
With a swift motion, Luca scooped up Elise and vanished into the night, leaving behind a trail of mystery and unanswered questions.
Sophie's body materialized in the coven, her limbs twisted at unnatural angles. Her skin was deathly pale, and her eyes were sunken, but a faint spark of life still flickered within her.
The witches gasped in horror, rushing to her side. The queen's face contorted in anguish as she cradled Sophie's broken form.
"No, no, no... This can't be," she whispered, her voice trembling.
Ariana, the wise witch, quickly assessed Sophie's condition. "She's been drained of most of her magic," she said grimly. "The werewolf's bite is cursed, meant to destroy her from the inside out."
The queen's eyes blazed with fury. "We must act quickly," she commanded. "Gather the strongest healers and every rare ingredient we possess. We will save Sophie, no matter the cost."
As the witches scrambled to obey, the queen's gaze fell upon Sophie's face. "Hold on, dear one," she whispered. "We'll bring you back from the brink of death. You will not leave us."
But Sophie's eyes remained closed, her breathing shallow. The spark of life within her was fading fast, leaving the witches to wonder if they were already too late.
The queen's grip on Sophie's hand tightened. "Elise, where is she?" she demanded, her voice urgent.
Sophie's eyes fluttered open, her gaze unfocused. She struggled to speak, her voice barely above a whisper. "Taken..." she gasped, her chest heaving with effort.
The queen's face twisted in anguish. "By whom?"
Sophie's lips trembled as she forced out a single word: "Werewolf."
The queen's eyes flashed with anger and fear. "Deuce," she spat, her voice venomous. "I should have known he'd be involved."
Ariana, the wise witch, placed a calming hand on the queen's shoulder. "We'll find Elise, Your Majesty. We won't rest until she's safe."
But Sophie's gaze had already drifted away, her eyes closing as she slipped back into unconsciousness. The queen's face contorted in worry, her mind racing with the implications of Sophie's words.
"Taken by a werewolf... What does Deuce plan to do with her?" she whispered, her thoughts consumed by the fate of her beloved niece, Elise.
The witches' chanting grew louder, their voices weaving a spell of healing and protection around Sophie. The air was thick with magic, the scent of herbs and incense filling the room.
Meanwhile, in the werewolf's den, Deuce's beta, Luca, arrived with Elise's unconscious form. Deuce's eyes narrowed as he took in Elise's pale face.
"Report," he growled, his voice low and menacing.
Luca bowed his head. "The witches were too powerful, Alpha. We had to retreat."
Deuce's gaze fell upon Elise, his expression unreadable. "See to her wounds," he commanded. "I want her alive... for now."
As Luca obeyed, Deuce's thoughts turned to the queen and her witches. He sneered, his lips curling upward. "They think they can defeat me? I'll show them the true meaning of power."
Back in the coven, the witches' chanting reached a fever pitch. Sophie's body began to glow with a soft, white light, her wounds slowly closing.
The queen's eyes shone with tears as she watched her heal. "Thank the gods," she whispered, her voice trembling with relief."
But Ariana's expression remained grave. "The poison has been neutralized, Your Majesty, but Sophie's magic is still compromised. She'll need time to recover."
The queen nodded, her mind racing with the implications. "We must find Elise," she said, her voice firm. "Before Deuce does something irreparable."
Elise's eyes fluttered open, her gaze met with an eerie darkness. She was lying on a bed, surrounded by black walls, black curtains, and black furniture. Panic set in as she scrambled to remember how she got there. The last thing she remembered was shopping with Sophie at the market... Where she?
Elise's heart raced as she tried to sit up, but a wave of dizziness washed over her, forcing her back onto the bed. She was trapped.
Just then, the door creaked open, and Lucas, Deuce's beta, entered with a group of omegas carrying food trays. His gaze locked onto hers, and he smiled - a sweet, yet sarcastic smile that sent shivers down her spine.
"Welcome to your new home, Elise," he said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "Alpha sent this for you."
Elise's eyes narrowed, her mind racing with questions. "Where am I?" she demanded, trying to keep her voice steady.
Lucas's smile grew wider, his eyes glinting with amusement. "You're in the den. Deuce's special guest."
The omegas set the trays down and left, leaving Elise alone with Lucas. She eyed him warily, unsure of what to make of him.
"What does he want with me?" she asked, trying to hide her fear.
Lucas's smile never wavered. "Oh, I think you know," he said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "You're just too afraid to admit it."
With that, he turned and left the room, leaving Elise alone with her thoughts and a sense of foreboding.
