Anna a tall ,caramel skinned,bouncy hair,petite and an extrovert when she wants to

She opened her eyes and used her hands to block the sun rays that came through her window "it's Monday again" she said to herself, Which meant she had to go to work.

She quickly got up from her bed to brush her teeth and get ready for work,luckily she didn't have to rush to work like other employees since she was a director at where she worked and she was sure she had little to do unless the ceo comes.she double checked her clothes before getting out of the house.

She pressed a button on her car key to open her convertible purple and elegant car which she felt matched her personality especially the fact that she Is an extrovert and also an introvert. She parked at her space in the company parking lot and took a deep breath as she stepped out of the car,"time for work" she whispered to herself and on getting to the reception she noticed that people were rushing around

"Hi guys, how are you doing, where are you all rushing to?

"What's wrong why are they all rushing? She asked

"The ceo sent for all team leaders and department heads"

"Okay then,let's go" Anna said

"Geez,don't tell me they're done with the meeting" Emma said to Tristan, when she noticed that the people were chattering

"I guess so" Tristan replied

"Hey, Emma, why are you late and you Tristan, I suddenly noticed you were no longer with me when I got here,where did you go?" Mark asked

"Well I was just waiting for Anna ,she made me come late" Tristan replied

"okay then, the ceo has already addressed us but I will explain to you guys later. I want to rest for now" mark said

"Why don't you tell us now? And what work have you done,that makes you think of rest this early morning?" Anna inquired playfully

"Well I went hunting for cute girls last night " he replied winking at them

"Ohhh.... Our never failing womanizer, don't just forget you have to brief us what the ceo said later" emma said

While arranging her table,Emmanuel her boyfriend snuck in and grabbed her

"Hey babe,how are you doing" Emmanuel said while stroking her hair and the other hand on her waist

"come on stop it, what if someone sees us" Anna said "what's the big deal" Emmanuel replied "we are youths and we don't need to hide from people or bother if they know about our relationship" he added

"well no one here knows about us,unless you've told your friends about us" Anna said

"well some people know" Emmanuel said, Anna stared at him in disbelief "well reasonable people.... Actually" Emmanuel quickly added. Why is she saying this as if our close friends are not aware of our relationship,she's being overtly secretive about us" he said to himself

"well our friends know about us....,.are you cheating on someone? and I'm your secret lover? He inquired knowing fully well that she has a lot of admirers

" hell no, emmanuel do you mean you don't trust me since all these years? She replied getting angry already

"well who knows, we've been dating for 3yrs now and you don't like people knowing we're dating" he replied blurting out his mind

" so you're saying you don't trust me right?" She replied breathing heavily

"why don't you want people to know about us,we've been together since you were 19 and I was 20 your excuse then was that you were still a teenager but now you're a freaking 22 year old woman that lives alone, isn't that enough proof that you're independent and can control your life?

" he said to her hoping to convince her " we are youths now " he said to her

"people can know about us,I just don't like the questions I'll be asked once everyone knows about us" "plus you're a shareholder here and people will think I seduced you" she said playing with her fingers "please sweetheart ,let them get to know by themselves,let them suspect and when we're asked we confirm it.....please"she said blinking her eyes like a puppy

" I love it when you call me that" he said tickling her "why not bribe me"he said

"You want me to call you cute names right?" She replied smiling with her lips

" If you want us to settle this then call me my love" he pouted his lips to her

"Okay,I'm really sorry my love"she said blushing and grinning from ear to ear

"Yeah,that's my woman" he said dragging her towards himself and making sure he was pressing their bodies together,making her gasp in surprised

"Sweetheart,please stop it,what are you planning"she said

"Why should I stop cuddling my woman" he said into her ears,making her feel the heat of his breath

" This is not the right time and place, I have to go to mark to tell me what the ceo said in the meeting this morning

" I could tell you what he said , I was in the meeting "he told her

"No I'll hear it from mark cause I know you won't concentrate on what you're supposed to brief me"she said

" then I give up" he said raising his hands up in resignation "but that means I have to let my queen go " he said batting his eyes like a puppy and she wondered why she still blushed at his teases" aww my empress is shy " he said when he noticed her blushing

"Just let me go and we'll catch up later or I come visit you or we do it the other way round" she said and tiptoed to kiss him

"What about me kissing you at the reception tomorrow, that way we're clarified" he said to her

" we have an agreement already emmanuel,and why do I feel like you just want to kiss me in public" she smirked at him and quickly left the office before he teased her again

"Where is Anna for crying out loud" mark said to himself.few minutes later she walked in with a half smile playing on her lips "I knew she must have been with Emmanuel and he's the reason she took time to come"he said to himself and a smirk played on his forehead

"what are you smirking at,mark?"anna asked when she saw him smirking

"ohhh....it's no big a deal,my sweet Anna"

" Hmmm if you say so. Please tell me what the ceo said while I was late" she said

" you'll have to pay for it cause you came late"he teased

"Really now? mark"she said surprised at him

"You owe me lunch,Anna,or maybe food cooked by you "he replied grinning at her

"If that's it then no problem "she said smiling

"I have another favor to ask you and you can't say no" mark said

"What other favor again mark, pls I don't have time for teases "she said

"It's not a big deal and also a big deal, I want you to take me to a place where I can get a befitting ring for my lady " mark said

" woah, you want to get married? I'll follow you to wherever in this world where we'll get a ring that will suit her well and don't forget I'm planning your wedding"she said smiling widely "ohh... the strict faced mark is blushing " she said laughing

"You'll take me there today once we closed from work,so now let's discuss what you came here for

" mark said feeling too shy to face her and wondered how he'll survive the evening with her

"No, not yet, we'll go ring hunting through out this week and we'll decide where to get one on Saturday " she said to him " now you can start with briefing" she said

" thanks empress Brianna Emmanuel "

"Shut up" she said blushing

"As her highness pleases" he said

Unknown to Anna, Emmanuel had been to her office before she was and was startled when she was suddenly grabbed by the waist "Hey stop it or I'll punch you" Anna said amidst laughter when she was suddenly grabbed by the waist by a familiar arm

"Ohh.... I've offended my queen. I'll really punish you for this Emmanuel"he said pretending to be scolding himself

"I'm not angry at you Emmanuel,just go to your office cause you're spending too much time in my office"she said

"Okay empress Brianna " he said playfully and made sure he gave her a quick kiss on her cheek.

Claudia Bernard. A tall & beautiful spilt brat, was drooling on a guy she found familiar in a picture she found in her friend's apartment.

Emily smiled at her behavior on a particular person in the picture frame. "Do you like him?" she said.

Surprised, she looked up at Emily. " I didn't hear you come back in" she said smiling awkwardly.

Emily nodded her head. " I know my cousin is handsome,don't worry I'll get him for you and f he doesn't have a girlfriend". She replied her

Feeling awkward, Claudia quickly responded. " it's not like that he just looks familiar to me" she answered.

Slightly taken aback, " you don't remember him?" Emily asked.

Claudia smiled to cover her awkwardness. " sorry, I really can't" she said.

Emily decided to tease her about it. " ok,what about anyone with my surname in your class?" She asked

Claudia gasped at recognition. "What a small world" she thought. How could she not remember the cute guy in her class whom she had a crush on but had to be mean to him when he tried getting friendly, because he was from a lower background to hers. But how come she never knew he was a Dennis or even part of the highly accorded and respected Dennis family.

She quickly put her act together and replied with half enthusiasm. " now I remember him" she said .

Emily sat beside her. " yeah, he's grandma's favorite, but he's always quarreling with uncle because he doesn't want to work full time at the company" she explained bitterly.

Trying to understand what she meant, Claudia queried. " which of your uncles is his dad? And why doesn't he work full time at the company" she asked trying not to show her nervousness.

Emily was surprised by her question. " don't you know who his dad is?" She asked.

Claudia felt she should have been smarter. " the truth is that we didn't really talk in high school so I don't know his background". She explained.

Emily nodded in understanding. " his father is grandma's third son but the richest one,uncle Theo, and he's very nice." she said with full smiles.

Claudia was totally caught off guard. She stuttered. "Even...even...richer than your dad?" She asked.

Emily nodded again. " yeah he's richer than my dad,but he's very humble and still treats my dad as the first son that he is and still comes to my dad for advice sometimes" Emily said praising her dear uncle Theophilous.

Claudia blamed herself for being stupid and quickly thought of making her dad use her as a bait into the Dennis family. To think that she was close to Emily because she aimed for Emily's brother and it turns out that there's someone richer than Emily's father.

She smiled as she took a biscuit from the plate. She knew how much her father wanted an alliance with any of the Dennis brother's. She had the perfect opportunity. Claudia gasped at recognition. The maid wondered what was wrong with her before replying. " he's in his study ma'am" . The maid hurriedly left her presence so are the rest of them.

She rushed up to her father's study calling him. " daddy where are you?" She called all along the way.

Her father, *a man in his early sixties with a stern look which was hard to tell what he was thinking but not very tall* .was reading a book stoped and got up from his chair " why are you being childish,Claudia?" He asked her.

She took a deep breath and asked him a question. " Dad I want you to tell me which one of *the Dennis brothers* do you want as your business partner?" She asked him.

Her father looked at her suspiciously. " Deep down I want Theophilos Dennis but he's a very picky man to his elder brother, Jeffery Dennis" her father replied.

She smiled at her father. " Well you might not need all that stress because one of his sons is my high school crush and we could just use us as an excuse for his father,like a marriage proposal" she said happily.

Her father felt happy but wanted to be careful about it. " what if he has a woman in his life?" He asked.

She took a seat and thought about it for a while. " we'll investigate who she is,then we'll know what to do" she answered.

Mr Bernard felt accomplished. " I raised you so right" he applauded her.

She felt on top of the world. "Thanks father" she said leaving the study to investigate whoever might be the woman in Emmanuel's life.

2 Weeks Later

Claudia and her father got to know that Emmanuel and Brianna are in a relationship through the investigator they employed and they started up a plan. "How do we make her get tired of the relationship,father?" Claudia asked

Her father paused for a moment. "According to the investigator.....she's independent and can't be bought with money. So we make her suffer." He proposed.

Claudia's face lit up with happiness. "I have an idea dad, she works in my friend's company, and I could let him give her a lot of work to do so she'll loose focus" she announced happily.

Her father patted her head. "I raised you well princess. I'll give you extra money for shopping if you can do that." He promised.

Claudia took her phone and hurriedly dialed her friend's phone number.

Emmanuel visits his parents house and told his family about him planning to propose to Anna and bring her home for proper introduction afterwards which everyone was happy about except for his father

"you won't marry just any girl out there"mr Dennis said

"But dad you know I've been dating her for 3years now" he protested

"Calm down darling,let's meet the girl first" Mrs Dennis intervened

"Meet a girl of no status?"mr Dennis said angrily

"She has status,father, she is a director at P&M company and also has a small business of her own" Emmanuel said trying to persuade his father

"Just listen to yourself, you said a small business, and I'm sure it was built in what she has been getting from you,those girls are gold diggers,son." Mr Dennis said

"She doesn't even know my background,she thinks I'm just a hustler like herself,please father,you can investigate her if you want "he said persuasively

"Since you've decided to praise her this much then I'll have to investigate her but you still have to go on a date with Claudia"his father said

"Come on father,Claudia? Claudia is the reason for all these? Isn't it Claudia Bernard?

"Yes it's her,you went to the same secondary school with her,I didn't know you would still remember her"his father said grinning

"Why won't I remember that rude dumb ass" he said snorting "pls father don't forget to check out my girl"he added

"I will, I just hope she's satisfactory or else you have to marry Claudia within six-months " his father said

"There's no way I'll marry that girl,father, do you know how she used to look down on me in school because she didn't know of my background? She can never be my woman"he said angrily

"I don't believe you emmanuel, and I won't tolerate you say anything bad about that gentle fairy like girl" his father said

"You only think so because that's what she poses herself as in front of her father's friends and business partners,if you want to know more about her just ask her father's subordinate in her father's company and the people working for them in their house"

Getting tired of the heated conversation his mother got up and tapped his shoulder and told him "your father has already agreed to investigate your darling anna all you have to do is send your father a picture of her and her home address then pray your father likes her,instead of arguing about Claudia" his mother said

"Darling please finish your food and don't get stressed about the children issue,let's go to the pool once you're done eating" his mother said to his father winking at him

"Ohhh.....please,don't you guys realize you're old already?"his elder sister Vanessa said

"We aren't old,I'm very much agile and as you can see I still go to gym at 62 and my wife is still very much sexy " he said reaching for his wife's bum

"I pray I don't go blind in this house,I'm still 17 for crying out loud " his younger sister Jane said

His mother smiled happy that she had successfully diverted her husband's attention

An idea came to his mind,he has to call jasmine to help him out, he quickly reached out for his phone and dialed her number"hello,jasmine. I really need your help"he said
