Chapter 1 A Big Mistake

Emma's POV

I feel a big hand move to my hips, then it grasps me in a rough way. I nervously open my eyes and find out a naked man stirring in my arms.

What the heck?! I'm totally nude!

This man holds me possessively to his body, I try to move away from him then so many unknown tingles aroused in my deep body.

Hell!

I curse inside my brain. My head feels dizzy, my throat is dry, feeling so regretful to drink so much last night.

I lost my virginity on a drunken night to a stranger. If dad knows this shit, I have forecast, he would kick me out of the house.

I have no idea where I am, the sunlight peeking through the windows in a luxury room as I try to figure out where I sleep. The last thing I recall is my sister Lydia and I sneaked out and went to a bar to celebrate my eighteenth birthday, we danced and kept drinking cocktails.

"Holy shit!" I whispered and rubbed my nape and can feel the teeth mark. This man must be an asshole, what kind of creature would bite a girl's neck like this? An animal.

Slowly, I untangled his arm from my chest, and try to slip away as fast as I can, but he tightened his grip around me, I saw a very handsome sleeping face.

This stranger isn't just a normal person but Jordy Antonakos, this man is the heir of the Antonakos family, and this family is one of the richest families in the world, he owns 40% of property in the city. I heard his younger brother owns the same as Jordy.

My iPhone is vibrating on the desk, and Lydia's name is on the screen.

"Ahh..." I get up and moan, almost about to fall to the ground. My legs are wobbling and unable to move as my thighs and the lower part are stinging like hell.

Biting my lips, I quickly grab my phone and answer it in a very low voice, "hello?"

"Emma, where are you? Dad found out our beds are empty, he was furious and I lied to him that we went camping. You'd better go home." She says nervously.

And I notice there are twenty-four messages on my iPhone, the first of which came in from my mom at 2:48 A.M. Mom and dad definitely will kill me once I arrive home.

"I don't know where I am, maybe in a hotel or someone's home... Oh god, mom called me last night, I must put my phone on vibrate and make haste."I mutter, shaking my head.

My sister Amber is good at lying to dad, dad is strict with us, he loves us, but he is stubborn and quick-tempered, and he's been controlling and domineering about my private life. When we need some girls' secret party, Amber knows how to make dad believe her.

She sighed silently, "Emma, don't lie to me, did you sleep with Jordy Antonakos? "

I feel awkward as my body is naked, trying to grab a piece of cloth to cover my body and not wake up the sleeping man in the bed while I need to lie to my sister at the same moment.

"Jordy Antonakos flirted with you and shared our tapas and a couple of drinks. His eyes were wandering around you all the time, I knew he attempted to kiss you and trap your ass."

"Probably... I spent a night with him, " I conceded.

"Aren't you falling in love with him? Don't be silly, Emma."

I bit my upper lip and really wanted to punch my face hard for doing this stupid and naive thing.

"No, I don't like him, and I even don't remember how we met last night. And I know such a rich guy like him didn't date girls like me, he only looked for a one-night stand, not love."

I heard thousands of adoring and rapacious women tracked him much, if one of them marry him, then that woman would have more money than she know what to do with. Guys like Jordy Antonakos don't stick with girls like me. I'm only good enough to party with for a night.

The thought of him with a girl, which is not me, makes my heart pain in a way I've never felt before, it's odd. Why do I feel jealous about it?

"I won't waste my time on him. I'll take a taxi and go home." I hang up the phone and turn my head to Jordy.

He buries his head in the pillows, curly black hair dark against the bedding, his skin flushes by sleep, long lashes screening his eyes. Once I had read an article about him, the journalist had raved about his dazzling green eyes and the spiky length of his sooty lashes.

"Mate..." He whispers and frowns.

Mate? Is he calling someone's name? I'm confused.

Time is flying quickly, I need to go home in an hour. I grab his shirt and my pants and wear them. Jordy's shirt is so long that it covers my butt, so it looks as if I'm half nude. I want to change the shirt, but mine is torn apart last night.

Wearing his shirt is like he uses strength against me, holding me fast, not allowing me to avoid his kiss again.

Then I notice a photo, he wraps around a sweet young girl and I can feel they like each other. The anger builds up inside of me.

I don't understand what is wrong with me, no one bothers me this much. Then stormed into the powder room, and stare at my face in the mirror.

Now I remembered vaguely how we met at first. While he was engulfed by a large, noisy crowd of people, his gaze locked on me, many beautiful women tried to sidle closer to him, but Jordy ignored all of them to walk toward me.

He had reached out his thumb, sliding over my cheekbone, tracing that wash of color that had appeared there. "Do you know that you're beautiful?"

I chucked, and a warm flush of color spread up my cheeks. His attention, his compliments, his eyes filled with love, I lost my soul and my body for him.

I blinked and bit down on my tongue hard. Last night is daydreaming, I need to forget about it.

I place my hand on my chest, feeling the heartbeat running faster than normal, I press it hard and hope it can reduce the pain I feel there.

What is wrong with me?

Silently watching him again, I kiss his cheeks, and grab my purse and phone before striding outside. Before running out of the room, my face smashes into a man's chest.

"Ouch!" My tears are about to fall down.

A low wolf howl comes somewhere, out of fearness, I step back against the wall.

Wait a minute...What is that?

Do I hear an animal growl?

I lift up my eyes and see a man looking down at me with a left hand in his pocket. He pauses for a few second, sniffs the air around me then his eyes go round, shock and happiness visible.

"OMG, are you the girl who sleep with Jordy last night?"

My jaw drops down..

"Who you are?"

He seems to be shocked by his words as well. His cheeks start to blush, but he continues to wander around me, sniff my hair, and stare at my neck.

"I'm his friend, and I... I mean ... Jordy marked you last night?" He says, attempting to keep his tone calm as his fingers point at my neck's teeth mark.

The words make my gut twist. The last thing I want to be mentioned is this silly one-night stand.

I don't want to talk with him anymore, dad is waiting for me at home, I need to hurry up.

"Listen, I don't understand what you're talking about, and I'm sure you find the wrong girl." I push him away.

"Jordy has been looking for you for many years, and his brother is going to be happy to meet you too, so to speak, and then...well, don't leave, I think you'll be a good wife."

"Are you seriously mocking me?" I snap, panic tearing through my heart like a wild beast, savaging my chest, my throat. Making it impossible to breathe. What he is talking about is impossible.

Jordy has many girlfriends, and he always sleeps with a girl and dumps her when he gets bored, and he will move on the next minute. Does this man say playboy Jordy has been looking for me? That is impossible!

It has to be. Mostly.

"Oh, I'm sure Mr. Antonakos's romantic life has a lot to say about it. Because everyone called him a selfish, ruthless womanizer. Every woman is drooling over him and wants to be his wife."

"It's not. I promise you it isn't."

I yell at him, "I'm out of here."

"But... may I drive you home?" He asks, trying to stop me.

"Hell no!"

I rushed out of this crap place and take a taxi home.

It's a silly mistake to drink too much in a bar. No, it's a silly mistake falling into a man and sleeping with him. I should watch a movie and eat pizza at home with my parents.

Dad and mom are sitting on the sofa when I get back, dad looks furious, and mom and my sister lower down their heads, but don't dare to look at dad.

Dad shouts at me furious, "Emma, did you sleep with a man last night?" His eyes bore into me, brimming with murderous intent.

"Dad, I made a terrible mistake last night, I'm so sorry about it," I open my mouth and say, a tear sliding down my cheek.

"A mistake?" He growled at me.

I start to feel smothered. Dad is always proud of me, he brags to his friends and his business partners about how clever and perfect I am. But I let him down this time, and I broke his heart into pieces.

"Baby, Emm just wants to celebrate her birthday and she will go to a university and find herself, it is a mistake, forgive her." Mom wipes at the tears that have fallen down my cheeks.

"Don't provoke me!" Dad is full of violent rage, ever since I walk into the home, he has been angry, growing angrier.

I whimpered again, feeling my lip tremble involuntarily. The fire of regret has been burning hotter and hotter in the spit of my heart.

"We shouldn't adopt you, Emma." He looks scary, it is like I'm staring into the eyes of a beast, gulping back my fear and shock.

"Jack, don't say that anymore!" Mom tries to stop dad, but dad continues to say.

"Now, get out of my house!" He announces in a serious tone.

"What do you mean, dad?"

"You are no longer my daughter now."

Chapter 2 You're Not My Daughter

Emma's POV

For several seconds, mom, dad, Lyida and I stare at each other in silence.

"Mom? Dad?" My voice trembles. I try to tell myself, try to keep the sobs inside, but they burst out anyway.

"Did you really think I let your mom adopt you and raised you because we loved you? No, Emma, you're always regarded as an investment, we educated you to be a dainty girl, but the truth is, you're a whore."

"Mom, I am your daughter, your beloved kid, dad must be so angry to tell me a lie."Tears start to burn in my eyes, but I swallow hard and fight to keep my lips from quivering.

Mom looks straight into my eyes with sorrow, "sorry, Emma, you're not our biological daughter."

Tears burned in my eyes, but I swallowed hard and tried my best to keep my lower lip from quivering. "No, no, I don't believe it."

How will I ever know if the words that come out of my dad's and mom's mouth are real? How? They used to tell me they loved me without flinching. And then they tell me it was all a lie, and now they ask me to believe that this is true.

Dad's eyes darkened as he deliberately turns to glare at me. "I plan to let you marry my business partner, we made a deal as long as you marry him, he would invest us three billion dollars, now just because you lost your virginity, he canceled this deal."

For the first time in my life, I feel like I'm watching my entire future slip through my fingers. For the first time, I feel powerless to do anything about it.

Dad narrows his eyes, his lips tightened, and his fingers started to drum. "Do you have any idea you ruined my plan? You can bring us a huge amount of money when you marry that bloody old man, it's the only chance to repay us for feeding you food all of these years."

Dad wants me to marry an old businessman and let that man invest in our family's jewelry shop. This is a huge decision, especially for dad.

"Dad, that man is forty years old, and all my friends laugh at me for marrying him. We can think of another plan to save our business."

"Shut up!" Dad screams, and I grab my bag, too shocked and terrified to utter a syllable.

He asks me to leave like a servant. I flutter my lips, unable to hide the sadness in my voice. My eyes are imploring as I grab my dad's hands and beg him not to kick me out. "Dad, please, don't do this to me! I can't live outside."

Mom's voice cracks, "Emma..."

"Jack, if you insist to do that, I'm gonna take a divorce with you! You have no heart!" Mom is shouting at dad.

Dad knows how to shout too. "I have no heart? What about you? You antagonize me in every way possible, and delight in making me look like a villain."

I'm afraid mom might faint because she has a heart problem. Dad always avoids quarrels with her.

"Are you threatening me?" Dad's eyes glinting like tempered steel.

Suddenly mom finds out a teeth mark on my neck, and her eyes go round with worry and shock. "Emma, this is marking bite, they must find you."

Mom is even more nervous, I lean closer to hear more clearly.

"If these people knows Emma if these people mark Emma, and what would have happened if Emma is made a way into their hands? We will die."

Then she stops whispering and remains silent. Confusion crosses my features, does mom mention someone is looking for me?

But dad can't hear mom's lower whisper, he continues to spit out the last words as if they disgusted him. "Everyone knows I have a whore daughter. Now get out of my house! You're no longer my daughter now. You're useless and worthless."

Tears slid down my cheeks, my heart pounds against my ribcage.

Mom and Lydia panicky grab my shoulder and hand, mom hugs me tightly, and Lydia stares at dad and keeps shooting eyes daggers at dad.

Dad ignores their begs and my desperation. He opens the front door and pushes me outside.

The morning is humid and cold. Clouds have rolled in, and there is going to be a thunderstorm, the impending rain adding to the heaviness in the atmosphere.

Raindrops start to pound in my face.

"Dad, it's raining outside, and Emma is getting wet," Lydia begs dad. Mom is frantically hugging me tightly to stop me from leaving.

"Emma should stay here with us, Emma is my daughter!" Tears slid down mom's cheeks.

"That bitch is not my daughter!" He speaks darkly to us.

The immediate panic makes me shiver, my teeth chatter, I sweat, my heart beats ridiculously fast, and my breathing quickens.

"Dad, it's raining outside, and really icy," Lydia begs.

"No! I won't allow a bitch to live in my house," he growls, and his sharp voice pierces my ears.

Enough! How long will it take for me to start feeling smothered again and again?

And regardless of my confused feeling about who I really am, whose my real biological parents are, I feel trapped now.

It's so easy to see the difference, love. Love is the difference. I know dad doesn't love me, but knowing that he never did, makes all the difference to me.

Curling my fingers into fists, I choke out. "Mom, Lydia, I have to leave."

"Jack, wait. At least, give us some time to talk." Mom sobs. She looking straightly into my eyes with sadness, these same eyes that fill with love when I was a little toddler, now filling the desperation for her grown-up daughter.

"Five minutes." He warns us before walking off. Mom wipes away my tears before hugging me briefly. Then smashing the door in front of us, the loud cracking sound is heard in the house, followed by dad's growl.

"I'm fine, mom, I'm gonna be okay." I press a gentle kiss to her cheeks before dad curses maliciously, making them jump.

A steady downpour of rain is beating against the window, I can see small floods in front of the door.

"I'm sorry, Emma." Mom apologizes to me, checking her watch. I smile before the curtain closes, and dad still cursing loudly. My sister Lydia sniffs her nose, takes off her clothes and hands them to me.

"Put it on, sis, it will make you warm. You can drive my car, I can ride your bicycle to go to college." The rain soaks my clothes and my hair. Lydia says as she notices I shiver.

At least someone loves me, I talk to myself, I'm the luckiest girl in the world.

"Thank you, Lydia," I hug her, she sadly nods her head and hugs me back in response.

Lydia whispers to my ear, "I bought some new clothes, jeans, hoodies and some girlie stuff last week and forgot to bring them home, it's all yours. Remember to wear them immediately before driving the car, they will keep you dry and stay warm."

Mom hands me her wallet, there are thousands of dollars and a credit card. " Here, take these. If you need more money, just call me, Emma."

Dad looks out the window, a disappointed face shows on his face, he raises a clenched fist and hit a wall.

"Lydia, there is one important thing I need to tell you. A college named Nevermore called me yesterday, they offered you a full scholarship to study there."

The school for outcasts? Nevermore usually accepts students who get high scores on the ACT, why do they want me? My scores are not enough to go to that place.

But this is the only place I can go, there are no other options.

"And Emma, your biological parents didn't abandon you, they gave me a huge amount of money to raise you, they promised me to bring you home when you were ten years old, but somehow they called me they were in danger and warned me never mention to anyone where are you from, even to your dad."

"Can you tell me where are my parents?"I ask her and swallow hard.

"They didn't tell me the location, but they did mention a place - Nevermore. And yesterday the principal of Nevermore mentioned your biological parents had studied there when they were young, and your biological parent's family has a long history with the school. If you're looking for your parents, it is a perfect place to start your investment. "

I nod my head and don't know what to say.

Lydia rushes running outside, and she passes me a big bag, "I put your laptop and your Id cards in this bag and a mail from Nevermore, you can drive to your college now. Call us when you arrive."

"So, you two will come to Nevermore to take a visit one day?" I ask mom.

"Yes, we will. And you can share some photos, tell news about your college life, like having a boyfriend." Lydia winks at me.

"We can use Skype, it's convenient, and I can see your pretty smile when I miss you," Mom says.

Biting my lower lip, I nod and not saying a word. That is as good as I'm expecting. Dad and mom won't argue with each other, they're soul mates, and it's impossible for mom to go against dad.

"You three have one minute to say goodbye now!" Dad shouts to us behind the door.

"Emma!" Lydia stands there helpless, with my shoulders captured by her. I give her a big hug, and touch her hair, tears dropping down like a flood. A sob escapes from her mouth.

"Sis, you know I'm good at lying to dad. I will slip away and visit you once you arrive at your college. It's a promise." Her hairs soak from the rain, and her face is covered by rain and her tears.

"Call us, no matter what happened." Mom chokes out and kisses my hand.

"I will, mom."

"Emma, take care of yourself," mom tells me while Lydia gives me her car key.

Rushing down the steps as my body keeps shivering, taking my breath away. Clutching the banister, I grit my teeth, pain making me cry out.

Chapter 3 I'll Will Be A Billionaire's Wife

Emma's POV

One Week Later

9:28 pm

It is a chilly day, but I feel warm and dry thanks to Lydia's clothes and mom's money. I lift up my head, the moon is big in the midnight sky like it's trying to brighten up my heart.

I stop at a gas station to add some fuel and buy some warm food to eat. After spending several days and nights in the car, I also want to find a place to take a shower, but most of all, I need to change a tire.

I keep telling myself that once I arrive at Nevermore, I'll be safe and have a roof over my head to sleep.

Opening my pocket, thousands of dollars are hiding down there. Lydia gave me two thousand dollars, mom passed me five thousand dollars. Gee, thanks, mom and Lydia, I love you. I think to myself.

I sigh. That will buy enough gas and some food for a few days, I need more money to feed my stomach and have a normal life.

Then I find a purse, open it and I find ten thousand dollars. She want to buy a new computer so she worked hard to save money, she gave me all her savings!

Opening the bags Lydia sent for me, I find three wool sweaters, two pairs of a waterproof winter boots, and some skin products. Hydrating moisturizer, makeup. She gave me what I needed, I wipe away my tears when the wave of conflicting emotions begin to tear at me again.

I dig out my phone and ring my sister Lydia, desperately needing a shoulder to cry on. She is not answering the phone, I send her a text.

It's lucky to have you, Lydia. I love you.

She sends me back.

I'm working, can't talk to you. And I love you too, Emma.

I believe you can do whatever you want, bless you.

The light rain is nearly stopped, I reach my hand inside it and put out fries and chicken, taking a bite off the cold and soggy chicken.

The food is as cold as ice, but I narrow my eyes and sigh of contentment once I can taste the food. I should be blessed for finding some food, especially for free.

Tap! Tap! Tap!

Someone tapping on my car's window. I take another bite as the delicious morsel spreads in my throat, I don't want to respond.

"Ah..." The teeth mark on my neck burns like on fire. I straight slowly and feel the back of my neck prickled.

Another flash of lightning washes out the dark scene around me, a pair of strikingly green stare at me, and a shocking growl escape from my mouth.

"Holly shit!" I growl.

"Excuse me, are you alone?" A female asks, I nod, looking into her eyes. She has strange eyes, long lashes screening her bright green eyes, which remind me of the only man I slept with, Jordy.

"You must be Emma."

I hear a relieved sigh outside of my car, startling me out of my thoughts. I turn to see a stranger puffing out breaths, she keeps tapping my window.

Something doesn't feel right.

She sniffs the air and stops when my eyes land on her warily. She looks familiar for some weird reason as we had met before.

The rain pell her skin, her clothes completely plaster to her body.

"Emma?" She says with a confident tone.

"Yes, I am. And you're...?" I blurt out before feeling regret.

In suspicion my eyebrows frown, the gas station is empty and eerily silent, which is the opposite of what's supposed to be. Thirty minutes ago, many people held parties and celebrations for a football game.

"I'm Jordy's mother, I'm looking for you for many days." She smiles at me.

Jordy's mother? She is Mrs. Antonakos? Is that the reason it's deadly silent here? Because of her? But why? Why she's looking for me?

My mouth full open as my body stiffen in confusion. She seems puzzled at the same moment, not knowing why I have such a response.

"Emma, why are you wandering about this crap place?"

"I'm not 'wandering about'. I've been driving my car to my college. You're the one who intruded on me and asked about my privacy."

Her eyes narrow, "I need to find you."

Oh, a rich billionaire is looking for her son's one passion night partner, what a story. It's a big mistake for me and I'm all alone now, thanks to Jordy. Come to think of it, make everything rather difficult to sort out.

"Can your car run?" She asks, staring at my broken tire.

"I need to change my tire, I'll buy a new one in the morning," I tell her and roll my eyes.

"Why do you want to see me?" I ask peevishly.

"I'm here to bring you home."

"A home, are you kidding me?" I say doubly. My parents kicked me out of the house, what I heard must be wrong.

"It's not the right place to explain to you, and your face is pale, are you alright?" she asks in concern.

I wear a fake smile and decide to lie to her, "I'm fine, just a bit cold." She opens my car door and grabs my hand and leads me to her Audi A3 Limousine.

"Let's use my car, it's warmer, and my maid can help you change your tire tomorrow," she says. I sit in my car, don't want to move.

"This is my car," she ignores my refusing face and grabs me tightly as we walk to her fancy car.

Her eyes softened with a grin. "I swear to you, I won't hurt you, Emma. I promise."

I nod my head.

As I enter her car, the driver's head bows down still in a sign of respect and submission. My palms start to get sweat, I bite my lips to reduce the nervousness.

"Jordy never mentioned you're a really beautiful girl," she chuckles, pulling me out of thought.

"What?" My hands shaking in my pocket, I'm nervous.

I feel awkward as she links my arms through mine, "I like you, Emma." She says and wears a big smile.

I feel a nice vibe from her, I can't make a good judge of people's character when it comes to a person, but I do feel she tries her best to make me feel comfortable.

"Jordy is crazy about you, he has been acting like madness since he lost your trace," she giggled.

She pours me a glass of warm water and asks me, "has Jordy introduced himself to you?"

"Umm... we barely know each other." I avoid seeing her eyes directly. Why he made an introduction to a stranger?

She shakes her head in disappointment, "that idiot. Jordy is my firstborn child, he's an outgoing person, I really think he did introduce himself to you when you met each other."

"Speaking of Jordy, he's busy on dealing with dangerous people today, some omegas reported seeing them sneaking into our pack lately. He left earlier this morning to check."

While she continues her explanation, my confused mind starts to stray.

Who are these dangerous people? Can he be in danger?

The thought makes me unstable and I ask her without thinking twice, "do these people hurt him?"

She looks quite shocked by my question, "no, that's impossible. Jordy is one of the most powerful Alpha in our pack, these cowards won't have the nerve to step foot into our land knowing what will face if they do."

"Wait, are you speaking about Pack? Alpha?" My eyes are wide open. What do these names mean?

"Emma, you... you don't understand?" She is shocked.

"Why I should understand?"

She pours herself a glass of wine and takes a sip, slowly studying me, "wait a minute!"

She moves her head closer to me and sniffs me again and again, "Jordy finished the whole mating process, you're his mate officially. And yes... you're not -"

She speaks in a lower voice that I can't hear clearly, then pour another glass of wine to calm herself down as if to keep herself from saying another word.

"Mrs. Antonakos, I still don't know what you're talking about, and the reason you bring me to your home, I think I need to go, please stop your car, I'll take a taxi to the gas station." I'm losing my patience.

"No, Emma, Jordy and Austin are waiting for you at home."

"Austin?"

"He's Jordy's younger brother, he's eighteen years old, and he's a very shy boy. Oh, he will go to Nevermore, you two can live together, I will buy you a small villa to live, and you two will have enough space to know each other."

She gives me a photo, and two handsome men waving their hands happily. The taller one is Jordy, and the other one must be Austin.

"Why Austin will live with me? I can rent a place and live alone, I don't need his company."

"Emma, you will be Jordy and Austin's wife, you can let you three engage before you and Austin go to Nevermore." Slowly, she watches me, her eyes roaming over my appearance before stopping at my neck.

What the heck? This woman is insane! Two men want me to marry them?!

"Calm down, Emma, I'll explain to you one day." She explains taking a sip.

"What's all that car going on outside?" She asks the driver.

I am not watching a single thing, yet the driver and she immediately shout loudly. Something coming towards the car at an impossible speed.

I narrow my eyes, and in the split second I realized it was a big truck that lost control, there is no way we are going to be able to avoid it.

"Emma, watch out!" She shouts out and hugs me tightly, my mouth shouts in surprise as she wraps my whole body under hers.

Bang!

I hear crying, which may be my own.

The last thing I can remember is a face covered with mud and blood, the hopelessness in this woman's eyes mirroring her own.

A warm hand touches my face and says to me, "I'm glad you're alive, and... run, don't tell anyone who you really are. You will be in danger."

I feel the tears burning in my eyes, but I swallow hard and try my best to keep my lower lip from quivering.

"Tell my sons, I love them, Emma." Then her hand drops down and I feel an explosion as everything fragments.

And then there was nothing.
