Chapter 1 01

ISBERLT.

A long sigh flies past my mouth as I drop the serum on the desk; turning around in my seat to remove my glasses, I gaze out the window to see that darkness has already covered the world; the illuminating light from the full moon, the only source of light which once again reminds me I'm the only one left in the company-excluding the parading guards.

Staring at the moon, I'm drawn to it, and find myself at my office window, arms crossed against my chest as memories that I find hard to keep down every day flow through my mind.

I remember how excited mother used to be during full moons, and the look that always covers dad's face anytime he watches his wife give praises to the feeling of excitement that comes with the full moon.

And I also remember the betrayed look on mother's face the last time I saw her-the last full moon that she saw.

My heart clenches at the memory, and I close my eyes, trying to shut it back down.

With another sigh leaving my lips, I turn back to the serum that sits at my desk; a frown covering my face when I realize my staying back at the lab turns out futile.

I have been very curious about the test subjects these sera are used on, and Doctor Shelley-one of the head researchers-have refused to let me into the other lab rooms where the test subjects are being kept, which is why I'm currently digging holes into the vial, instead of hiding myself under my duvet in my room with a bowl of popcorn in hand.

Shaking my head, I remove my Googles before proceeding to walk out of my office; heading to the bigger office to get the charts for the week.

Maybe it's the fact that I stupidly forgot to bring a source of light along, knowing fully damn well that no one is expected to still be in here but somehow, I miss my way, and I move down an unfamiliar hallway, shivers running down my spine from the dead drop silence that occupies this area, also from the knowledge that I've never been to this part of the lab.

Researching has always been something I'm fond of-something I take great pleasure in doing-which is why when I made it past the outskirts of my old home; the first thing I did was work my ass off to get myself to learn more about it.

It's only been a few months since Doctor Zion admitted me to be one of his lab assistants, and of course, I love my job so far, but my curiosity about the new serum that's been passed down, and why the test subjects is a prohibited area for me gawks at my mind every night.

And trust me, I do not do well with being curious about anything.

I stop in my tracks when I come to a dead-end which doesn't seem like a dead-end, but a room that's locked away from the other parts of the company.

Taking slow strides towards it, my heart pace increases when my hyperactive sense of heart kicks in, and I listen to the low growls that come from the other end of the room.

There's someone in there. And I want to know who exactly it is.

Wrapping my hand around the cold doorknob, a feeling of guilt kicks in at the fact that I'm not allowed to be here.

I jolt back in shock when my phone vibrates in my lab coat, dropping a hand over my chest to calm down my racing heart.

Taking few steps away from the door, I bring my phone out of my coat to find Corey's name glaring at me from the screen.

What the hell is he still doing up at this moment?

Exact question I should ask myself? Yes, I know.

Moving away from the door, I glue the phone to my ear, and breathe into it; voice extremely low.

"Corey, why the hell are you calling me?"

Corey is my lab mate, who also is my roommate. Yeah, big coincidence.

"Drowning in misery without you here? Why aren't you back yet? I thought you were just going to check on the data and leave. "

A sound of him munching on what I presume should be popcorn comes after his words, and I scrunch my nose.

Another big misery-Corey seems to know about the test subjects that are hidden from me for a very mysterious reason, and anytime I try to ask him about it; he just changes the topic.

It's as if everyone in the company knows about what's going on. Expect me. And somehow, they expect me to be alright with it.

Well, I guess I was until this new serum came in.

"I finished working on that, but found something else to work on. I'm not sure how I landed here, but I'm at a complete side of the company, Corey. I guess my night might be useful after all. "

"What are you talking about? Isberlt, please don't tell me you went to the prohibited side of the office. "

Maybe it's the fact that I am distracted talking to Corey, or I'm high on adrenaline or the fact that I'm slowly losing my inner skills and strengths after leaving the pack and shutting down my wolf.

Whatever reason it is, I cannot sense the change in the atmosphere, or I did late as my body collides against the wall, the phone dropping from my grip, and a wince slipping through my lips.

Raising my gaze to meet the force that keeps my body pinned against the hard wall, my breath hitches in my throat when icy blue eyes glare back at me; the face covered in a scowl.

"Found. You. "

He growls, and I shake in fear at the realization of who this intruder is.

An Alpha.

Chapter 2 02

ISBERLT.

I groan slightly, hand moving to my head as I take in the sight of my environment-darkness covering the area, with large leaves from trees blowing wind across the area, and I feel myself being moved at an inhumane pace-my big lab coat being the only thing protecting me from the harsh wind.

It takes me a few minutes to realize that I'm dangling off something with my body placed in a vertical position upside down, then a long minute to realize I'm on the shoulder of a man; my face right in his backside.

It doesn't take long for my memories to move back to places, and I realize this man is the Alpha, and he's taking me to God knows where.

Raising my head to stare ahead, I take note of the fact that we are no longer in the city, but now deep in the forest-into the life I managed to escape years ago.

He must have noticed that I'm conscious, and he tries to gaze back at me. "Don't do anything stupid. "

The deep tone of his voice resonates deep in my mind, and I try to open my mouth to say something in return but ends up with nothing.

So many questions flew through my mind as I feel myself slip back into unconsciousness, but the bigger one remains-What does he want from me?

***

Noise.

One of the things I dislike in the world.

Unfamiliar sounds fill my ear as I slip back to consciousness, a headache surfacing as soon as my eyes flutter open.

I'm no longer in the dark thick forest, and I'm no longer on the shoulder of an Alpha.

"She's awake. "

A voice says in a hushed whisper that I manage to catch, and I lift my body from the cold surface that it was rested against.

My eyes move across the vicinity I'm brought into without my consent, and glaring eyes, and hardened face covered in scowls, stares back at me. So many bodies hovering over me with no sense of familiarity from any one of them.

But one thing is for sure. These people aren't human. They are very far from it judging by the way the males blares their fangs at me, and the way the female's eyes turn bright yellow, and most white.

And I know exactly who, and the species they belong to.

They belong to one that I come from.

One that I left years ago after being made miserable from their betrayal.

They belong to one I once called family.

They are just like me, with much more power, and heightened senses.

The wolves.

Amidst the look of hatred, irritation, and disgust, I try to find any familiar face that might belong to my old pack, but end up with nothing.

And that can only mean two things.

Either after years of being away from them; so many things have changed-just like I have- and I fail to recognise them.

Or, this pack isn't the one I left years ago.

Which brings me to the question; what the fuck do they want from me?

"Step aside. "

A sharp voice laced with authority cuts through the thick tension in the air like a curt knife, and the pack of wolves surrounding me slowly dissolves; stepping away but pointed looks remaining on me.

"I see you're awake. "

A man that looks about two inches taller than me, with piercing green eyes hovers over me, his arms crossed behind his back gently.

I take my eyes to his stand, the shape of his face, the way his shoulders stands high, but find no familiarity to him with the man that stood before me last night. Or the night isn't over yet? It's hard to determine when you suddenly find yourself in a situation you never think you would in years or centuries to come.

"Who are you? Why am I here? What do you want from me?"

I hold his sharp gaze, scowling at him, and I don't miss the way the corner of his lips lifts slightly as he takes another step towards me.

"Quite curious, I see. Don't worry, you'll soon find out just exactly what you are here for, and who I am. Though when you do find out, I doubt you'll be wanting to find out the identity. "

With that, he steps away, and hold his head high.

Arrogance.

I hate him already.

"Chain her. "

He says to no one in particular, and two younger men emerge from the crowd, stern hard just like the rest of them with silver chains in hand.

You have got to be fucking kidding me.

What the fuck am I? A fucking dog?

"Piss off, you bastards! Don't you dare lay your filthy hands on me!"

I blare at them, surprised they stop on their tracks, looking back at the man who I've come to conclude has a higher position than the other two.

"What are you staring at? I told you to chain her!"

"Dare to touch me, and I promise I'll tear you from limb to limb. "

I resort, eyes flaming as I rise, my bright white lab coat now a dirty shade of brown, covered in dust.

"Stay away from me. " Empty threats, I know. I do not have the power I used to, and even if I did; there's no way I would have been able to take down this huge man before me; not to talk of the many angry eyes that's still on me.

"The Alpha King said to not forcefully handle her as of yet. "

The man standing at the right of the two men says to the scarier one when he glares at them, and he scoffs.

So he isn't the Alpha.

The beta probably?

"The same Alpha King will kill you before I do if you don't have her brought to the square room. She might have been away from her pack for so long, and her powers might have weakened, but the wolf instincts are still in her, coupled with the fact that she has stayed long in the human world, plotting against us with them. "

Angry roars fill the air then, and I look around me in shock, dark gazes staring back at me; more wolves than humans looking ready to tear my head from my body.

What the hell is this man talking about? Plotting against them?

"Chain her. "

With that, one of the two me lunges forward, grabbing my hands, and putting them in the silver chains before locking a silver collar around my neck, and chains around my legs.

Knowing fighting them off with only worsen the situation, I grit my teeth silently, and obey as he drags me away to where I presume should be the square room; roars and snarls following behind me.

***

Noise.

Noise, once again, has always been something I greatly dislike. The ability of those merely five-lettered-ugly-words to make me lose focus so easily, has always been something I hated.

This is why I'm currently boring holes into space; teeth clamping against each other in annoyance.

Hushed whispered. Mockery murmurs, and most of all pointed looks of hatred... All directed at me as I stare around the big space that surrounds me.

After being collared and chained- I was dragged into this big room with the men from earlier no longer in sight, and angry wolves, but much lesser in number to those of earlier surrounding me. None of the faces belonging to the one that brought me here.

This place looks so different.

So far, and different from the custom of the wolves that I grew up to.

This pack is larger in number, and they seem to have an association judging by the strong aura's that belongs to the ones in the room.

These right here are not one of lesser position. They are all with betas or the alphas with few Luna's beside them. This pack is like one I've never seen before, and I try to keep alert.

I see, and sense altogether.

I see hatred.

I sense the desire to kill.

I see irritation.

I sense rage burning in flames.

I see lusted gazes,

And I SENSE desire to claim beneath those ugly emotions.

Too many emotions... Too much anger in the room that makes me want to cower away from this place, and hide at a corner, but my desire to prove them wrong-that they do not scare me-have me holding my head up high; hands outstretched in chains as I wait for the arrival of the so-called Alpha King.

I feel before I see.

I feel the change in the atmosphere.

I feel the change in the voice, and I feel the change in the sound from a complete disaster of noise to total silence.

Everywhere goes silent, as the door opens, and the same man that I saw at my office steps through the door; an aura of authority surrounding him.

He gazes across the room for a few minutes before stepping on the levelled ground-standing above me.

Our gaze meets for few minutes before he looks away-suddenly bowing. And I need not no man to tell me the man have arrived.

The aura in the room changes once again, and I resist the urge to glance back at who this so-called powerful man is.

"Alpha King. "

The man that arrived previously murmurs, and the Alpha steps on the levelled ground beside him, hands stretched to his neck.

An aura that overthrows all others in the room surrounds him, as he stands tall and mighty; face hardened before he gazes down to where I kneel before him.

"You have betrayed your pack, Wolf. "

Are the first words that leave his mouth as I meet him square in the eyes, and I try to resist the urge to curse at him and let him know here, or any other is no pack of mine.

"You have betrayed your kind by working with the humans-creating powerful inventions that could be the end of us all- and you shall be punished for it. You will be chained, and stripped down of power. You will be treated worse than an omega, and you will pay back... Everything you've caused us. "

Finality and supremacy lie in his words. Resentment, and hatred, the only sensitivities in his tone.

"Strip her down. "

Chapter 3 03

ISBERLT.

"Strip down. "

He looks me dead in the eye as he mutters those words, and I bite down on my lips; feeling the outrage soaring in me.

This damn motherfucker.

"You heard the Alpha King, " The man that stands beside him says with a gruff voice, and I raise my brows at him.

"I heard him, I just didn't find any good significance in his words. "

I tell him, teeth-gritting against each other in annoyance, and low gasps and angry howls erupt in the crowd-reminding me that there are still very sure other wolves in the room.

"You nasty little bitch!"

The man that stands beside him snarls, making a move towards me, with eyes blaring enough to almost have me back down, but it doesn't.

"Say that to the girls that open their legs wide open for you each night to satisfy your desires. Who the fuck do you think you all are?"

I snap, trying to raise, but the chain restrains me and I let out a weak cry when it burns against my skin- smoke oozing from it, and creating a deep bruise around my wrists.

These fuckers laced the chains with wolfsbane.

"I see that you have a very big mouth; that will be corrected very soon when you realize the trouble you've got yourself in, and disrespecting the Alpha King? You will wish you were dead by the time we are done with you. "

He snarls, other wolves roaring behind me to agree with his words, and I clamp my mouth shut; the chains around my wrist hurting too damn much for fighting against it.

"I say we teach the bitch a lesson, and take turns on her. "

A wolf yells in the crowd, and I bite down on my lips to stop the come back that's begging to slip through; knowing it'll but only get me into trouble.

"Yes, that's right. She should be taught a lesson! For her treachery, and for having the nerves to talk back at the Alpha King. "

Another agrees with the first one, and like that murmurs and sharp angry voices fills the air- on agreeing on the fact that they should take their turns with me.

"Silence!"

The Alpha King says for the first time, holding his hand up with his face fortified just like before, and they all immediately go mute; not one word to be heard again.

"I believe I am still standing before you, and I believe I make the decisions here. I do appreciate your worries for her disrespect to my man, and you're all welcome to make suggestions on how to punish her for it, but for now, you all are dismissed. We shall follow through with the earlier agreement, and have her thrown into the dungeon, and treated like a slave. Moreso is worse for uttering dirt on my name. You may take your leave. "

Whispers of obvious disagreement to his words fill the air, with the others feeling like I need a more severe punishment than the one that's been passed down- like sticking their ugly cocks in me.

I wouldn't call it their need to defend their Alpha, but their selfish desire to put that thing in any lesser female. Group of rotten bastards.

Despite having more to say to the words, they all take their leave, and the man that stands beside the Alpha king looks between the Alpha and I, before following through the same path, and walking out of the room; leaving me with him.

"Move forward, Wolf. "

He says the moment they all evacuate the room, his hands stretched behind his back just like before, and his glare hard.

"I can't. " I grit my teeth at him, eyes furious. " You had me chained, how the fuck am I supposed to move when it hurts like a fucking bitch anytime I try to because you laced the fucking chains with wolfsbane. "

"I see you have quite the mouth. " He speaks, moving from his spot for the first time, and despite my need to keep the strong demeanour on- I fear. I fear because this same man is respected by a pack of alpha's, betas, and other common wolves. If they fear him enough to have that much respect for him, who am I- a powerless wolf- to disrespect him that much? But that doesn't mean I'm backing down either.

"The council was right. I should have let them fuck some sense into you; maybe then you'll realize this is no joke. You're no longer a person of yourself, you lost that right, and freedom the moment you stepped into here. "

"You mean the moment I was dragged here?" I raise my brows at him, challenging him, and I'm surprised to see that he lets out a soft chuckle. One that has a very severe motive to it.

"Stand Wolf. "

He repeats his earlier wolves, and I straighten on my knees, looking him dead in his icy green eyes before saying, "I fucking can't. "

I watch as a muscle ticks in his jaw, and before I know it- he's right before me, hand wrapped tightly around my neck, suppressing the life out of me, and I struggle to get hold of his grip while my wrist burns anytime I try to reach him.

"Let me make this clear to you, Wolf. You are a rogue, and you're not just a rogue. You are a rogue who found peace in hurting her kind, and you will be punished for it. " I still don't understand why they are all saying this. I've never had an encounter with any wolves since I left my pack, but it somehow I hurt them? Just like how?

"You are my slave. You are the Pack's slave, and ours to use as we please. If I want the men to go down on you, then so be it. They will, and you'll accept willingly with no words or restraint from you; you'll spread that pussy between your thighs for them, and you will take their dicks with a smile on your face. You will serve the man just like a slave does, and you'll live in the dungeon just like a worthless useless wolf does because that's exactly what you are. "

He insults me. He insults me both as a person. As a wolf, and as a woman.

"You, Isberlt, " He knows my name. Of course, he knows my name. "Will live the rest of your miserable life serving the pack, and you will pay back in spades every harm that you've caused us. "

"I didn't cause you any damn harm! I made sure to stay out of your freaks business the moment I left, but somehow I've been harming my kind? The fuck you on about?"

I let out a gasp when his grip on my neck tightens, and I'm convinced that the skin there is starting to get bruised.

"I loathe disrespect, Wolf. Have you not noticed that?"

"I did... You... Just haven't.. do anything to earn my respect. And I doubt... You ever will. "

I struggle to form plain words, and I watch the way his eyes forms a darker shade, his grip on my neck tightening even more- blocking the air that flows through my lungs, and I can't help but cry out in pain.

Thanks to the heavens, he lets go of me, ending my torture, and I struggle to breathe- coughing violently.

"Rio!"

He calls, and no longer, the same man that had me in chains appears in the room, eyes moving to my miserable state on the ground for a while, before he bows to the Alpha.

"Have her taken to the dungeons. You may remove the chains from her legs, and her hands, but do not uncollar the one from her neck; she might have managed to keep down her wolf powers, but that doesn't mean it's no longer there. Give her no more than two meals daily, and make sure she doesn't eat unless she's done her works as the Pack's slave. If she tends to prove too stubborn, let me know, and I'll have it looked after too. Out of my presence now. "

"Yes, Alpha King. "

The man replies before bending to pick me from the floor, hands covered in gloves as he drags me away, and I bite down on my lips as pointed looks of hatred follow me as we pass.

What the hell have I done to deserve this?

***

"You shouldn't try to constrain too hard. You will but only get yourself hurt. "

The man, Rio, says as he pushes me to sit on the cemented grounded bench in the dungeon, and I crinkle my nose as I look around the vicinity of the area I will have to live in every day and night. It smells like shit in here, and worse-highly suffocating.

"How am I not supposed to when I'm put in a place like this?"

I resort, and he chuckles before unchaining my hands, and wrists, staring at the deep red bruises that now covers both my wrist.

I sigh before rubbing my hands over it, angry at the fact that I still have no idea why I'm in this mess right now.

"I think the Alpha King can treat you worse than this, take my words for it when I say he's being generous with you. "

He says, standing up, and gazing down at me.

"Being generous? I don't think I did anything wrong to be dragged here in the first place? And you tell me he's being generous? He kidnap me, put me into chains, almost killed me, and then have me dragged into this... " I look around me once again, shaking my head. "This shit looking place that no human should be in. "

"You are no human. "

"Human, or not. I don't understand what I've done to deserve this, and then they keep on going about how I hurt my kind? What the fuck is that about?"

I ask him with raised brows, and he tilts his head to the side, almost as if he's studying me or something.

"Do you truly don't understand why you're hurt, and the harm you've done to the werewolf kind, or you're just pretending?"

"I'm not one to do that. " I tell him, shaking my head. "I don't understand what I've done to deserve this. "

He looks around, seeming hesitant before moving closer to me. "I'm not supposed to utter a single word, and I don't plan to because the Alpha King has his ways of knowing things. He will find out about it, and he'll have me beheaded. The wall's got ears, Isberlt. Soon, you'll understand what you've done to our kind if you truly don't know, but till then, I'll advise you to comply with everything they ask of you. Do not try to fight back, Isberlt. I trust you're smart enough to know fighting back against a pack of strong wolves with no one to defend you, only means death. "

"So I'm just supposed to do everything they say, and accept everything that's thrown at me? Both right, and unjust?"

I scoff, and he lets out a short laugh, his eyes brightening.

"You will have no other choice. As a slave, you don't have any say or choice in anything that's presented to you- you just shut up, and keep your head low. " When I open my mouth to say something again, he holds up his hand, shaking his head. "That's the only way to survive here. If you want to survive at all. "

With that, he moves to create some space between us, giving me a small smile.

I have a feeling he's a bit different from the rest of them. At least, he isn't giving me a hatred look or wanting to cut me down.

"I will take my leave now. Later on, some ladies will come to change your clothes, and have you fed. Just so you know, they might try to annoy you, but don't let it get to you. Stay low, and try to survive. Till I see you again, Isberlt. Which is very soon by the way- I just said that to sound good."

He laughs, and I can't help but chuckle along with him.

He gives me a small head nod before he begins to walk out of the reformatory, and he's almost gone when I stop him. "Why? Why are you being so nice to me?"

I raise my brows at him, and he smiles before nodding towards my body, and I stare down at my torn dirty coat.

"Anyone will that coat is smart, and I like smart people. " He winks, and I can't help but laugh- him acting along with me.

"Also, " He says, staring down with a sad smile covering his face before he meets my eyes again. "Because I used to know you. "

Before I can utter any other word, he walks away; his words floating in the air.

Does he know me?

Where? How?

Who is he to begin with?

Rio? I don't think I have ever met anyone with that name, but he does look like my age. Or two years older at least.

My thoughts are interrupted by two ladies making their way inside the dungeon- one holding clothes, and the other with a tray of food.

My mouth waters, and my stomach grumbles in delight, and I hope to the heavens that they didn't notice that. I can't remember the last time I ate, and now I see the food- I realize I'm starving.

"I can't believe we had to come to give her clothes. Isn't she the slave?"

The one with the blonde hair says, giving me a dirty look. Hello? I'm right before you, and I know you know it.

"Right! Alpha Jax said the Alpha King orders it, and it just makes me so annoyed. She doesn't deserve the treatment considering the harm she did, not to say she disrespected the Alpha King. "

The one next to her- high cheekbones, brown curly hair, and a bratty attitude just like the blond one- says before dropping the tray harshly beside me.

They both stop talking, and turn to glare at me, arms crossed like all those meany girls from school. Who the fuck are they again?

"What are you both staring at? Shouldn't you be out of here by now?"

I raise my brows at them, and they turn to each other, mouth hung open like a bitch waiting to take cum in her mouth before they turn back to me.

"You do not talk back at me, do you understand? You're nothing but a low-class slave that have no manners, and should be taught a lesson. "

See? Bratty.

"You can both kiss my ass. I should refer to you two if talking about manners- gossiping about me right before me? God, attention-seeking much?"

I raise my brows at them, a smirk playing around the corner of my lips when I see that furious look on their face, looking ready to attack me, but coming back to their senses; they back away, slatting at me before walking out of the dungeon.

I stare at the small gown they brought and grit my teeth together.

I'm not going to let them break me.

I will survive.
