Fated To Rejection: A Luna For The Secret Hybrid

Author: : jojo23
Genre: Werewolf
"I, Alpha Ryan, of the Blue Howl pack, reject you as my mate Luna. And, you're not even meant to be in this kingdom...! The Alpha's words reechoed in my ears, ticking them and my entire wolf into discomfort. "I regret ever even thinking of adopting you..." Regret? There was silence all through the entire space-the elders didn't even say a word. Rejection? Lara, a young she-wolf who has been full of hopes with the Moon Goddess's prophecy, was surprised with the rejection, leaving her shattered and alone. But from the pain of her heartbreak, she appears strong, independent, and determined. As she goes through a world that once flings her aside, she discovers that true love may not be found in fate, but in her own plan to choose herself, and in the arms of someone who sees her worth when no one else did. Will Lara really turn her heart towards those who truly loved her, instead of the Alpha King and his colleagues, who only enforces her and claims he is in love with her? Now, her journey from 'rejected' to 'reclaimed' begins.

Chapter 1 Rejected

"I, Alpha Ryan, of the Blue Howl pack, reject you as my mate Luna. And, you're not even meant to be in this kingdom...! The Alpha's words reechoed in my ears, ticking them and my entire wolf into discomfort. "I regret ever even thinking of adopting you..."

Regret?

There was silence all through the entire space-the elders didn't even say a word.

Rejection?

My heart sank.

Everyone had been gathered at the pack ground very early that morning, hoping to celebrate with me. I hoped so too. "Alpha..." I tried to pull words out of my mouth, but all was to no avail.

I began to pant, unsure of what to do. I was just a she-wolf willing to meet her fated mate, unite and change her life for better. Everything spoke of it-the truth, that I would meet him, my Alpha, the other part of me who would be revealed to me.

But, rejection soiled the entire journey I had embarked on. The cycle changed.

A flash quickly rushed into my memory again, making me flinch.

The Moon Goddess never left that part when her message came to me, "It is up to you to turn this situation into your good and your mate, your other half, is one of those wolves..."

Suddenly, Jonathan, the Alpha's Beta shouted at me. "You heard what he said, right? What are you still doing here?"

"What... do yo...u... even mean...?" I retorted, my words falling aside.

My breath was heavy. It was as if I was already being chased out of the pack kingdom.

Maybe fate would lead me to a good side, or whatever they said happened to rejected wolves would happen to me...

"Get out of this..." Jonathan continued, his voice louder and even more commanding.

Alpha Ryan interrupted him shortly, causing a commotion in my heart, nearly making me faint. "Since the wolf luna I have shown you, my pack members..." He stopped, and whispered some words into Jonathan's ears.

The Blue Howl pack.

Alpha Ryan had been really hungry for power after the death of his father-all my mother told me about him remained just that. He was a huge, blue-eyed, wicked commander who fought by all means into assuming the post of the new Alpha King of the Blue Howl pack.

Reigning was something else to him. He rejected me publicly in front of my own pack members.

I flinched.

Before I knew it, his voice came again, resounding like gravel, hitting my ears loudly and uncomfortably. "Like I was saying... I, the Alpha King of the Blue Howl pack, commands Lara to be banished from this kingdom! No one must save her. No wolf must run after her for any reason. Let the Alpha King's words... do what...?"

"Guide everything that will be done!" Every one of the pack members echoed, although the majority of them, I felt, were compelled.

The bell was rung against the drum and it became a timely law. I was to be tied, thrown away and cast aside. I hadn't even thought farther than that when Beta Jonathan was already behind me. "On your knees!"

"Torture her in the dark room!" Alpha Ryan commanded, a frown on his face as he walked into his room slowly and majestically. "And, afterwards, she must be disposed of into the darkest side of the woods, where the strange beings are..."

"Understood!" Jonathan hailed the Alpha King, yielding to his orders. He dragged me instantly with a disgusting force, his arms heavy on my waist as I struggled down with him towards the dark room.

It didn't take up to twenty minutes. The torture room was a bit far from the pack ground. I was trying to control my breath, sighing repeatedly since I had no choice but to follow him.

"Please..." I pleaded, my face already wet with fresh tears welling down. "I did nothing wrong to the Alpha King."

"Will you just keep mute?!" Jonathan snapped, turning down my request.

Beta Jonathan was so inconsiderate and strict. Definitely not the Jonathan I knew from the start, who welcomed me always whenever I was called to serve the Alpha. Maybe he had even personally planned to destroy me.

I had no idea of what the torture was. Alpha Ryan, the one I so much trusted, had ordered his Beta the way he was to torture me.

The whisper.

It meant something. But, my fate was drawing closer than I expected. When those words were hurled at me, the rejection, I thought the Alpha King was only using it to make a fun fair before he announced me, the new Luna..

What a pain. My heart couldn't hold everything inside, and I was dying little by little. "I... I was rejected..." I didn't know when I spoke, until Jonathan jabbed me in the arms.

"Keep shut!" He warned me. "Do you know what will become of you before you are banished tomorrow?"

"What?" I asked, my eyes clearly fixed on Jonathan perhaps he wanted to pity me. "I don't know. Alpha Ryan is my first friend here ever. The rebirth of this pack brought us together, I guess."

Suddenly, almost from nowhere, Alpha Ryan, the just-mentioned Alpha King, appeared. "I heard all you have said, Lara. I never planned to celebrate you as my Luna."

"Ryan..." I muttered, crying as I looked deeply into his face with sad coldness. "Remember those nights!"

"And so?" He retorted shortly, laughing out very loudly. "I reformed you and kept you from strange beings. I brought you to the new Blue Howl pack as my maid since I needed an opposite gender to have sex with."

"Ryan, you used me?" I grunted, still crying and lamenting my pain. "You fucked this same pussy of mine... Ryan..."

Alpha Ryan smiled.

"Stop calling my name." He hinted, reducing his smile instantly. "By the way, I am the new Alpha King of your so-called pack. If you want to reach me at all, add the title and stop behaving like the fool you are!"

I cried more. I was weak. Maybe I just had to submit all of myself to fate.

"So is that my..." I slurred my words.

"Nothing!" He snapped, blinking and posing proudly as an Alpha King that he was-a wicked being. "Jonathan, I guess it's enough. How long have you been here? Don't even bother. Just throw her out very early tomorrow."

"If I may ask, am I to feed her half of what she ate before now or quarter...?" Jonathan asked Alpha Ryan, staring at me with his bad, cold eyes. "I can order the chef to schedule that immediately..."

Very fast, I shut my ears to any response.

Nevertheless, the Alpha King's cold decree still echoed in my ears.

Chapter 2 Shattered

The burning pain lingered, spreading boils around my chest-a pain originally uncalled for. The weather, filled with particles of freezing snow, displayed dark clouds, unclear to see anything at all.

Not only had I started to suffer the cutting wounds Alpha Ryan's words had created in my heart-I had seen the reality of suffering-face to face, if describable.

If not for the weather change which somehow made it a bit easier for me to breathe, I would have passed away.

Maybe.

It was easy for my life to end in the thick woods.

Easier than survival.

Cramps disturbed my bones, making me unstable. I couldn't bear my body with my hands.

No way to survive.

The darkness. I was already thrown into the path of the banished wolves. The last word I heard before finding myself here was from the Alpha King. "Get lost to the thickest sides of Hell...!"

I flinched.

I expected the space to be lighted up. But, before I even got a hold on something solid to support myself, the moon reflected the change and my eyes almost faded away.

The full moon.

"Move with short steps here..." a voice came directly from my left, casting me to stillness.

It wasn't my wolf. Neither was it me myself-I was silent, but I knew something was happening. I struggled to make out a meaningful word.

I said nothing. Only sounds of my heavy breath until it stopped for a while as I tried to adjust, when suddenly, the appearance of a strange being hit me, its light almost blinding me. My wolf reacted immediately.

"Here it is." My wolf muttered, hitting my heart deeply as I struggled down the dark. "The sound you need. It is the voice you've long been waiting for..."

Sound? What voice?

I was shocked. Not only for the strange appearance, but because of the huge stature of that being. It appeared like a kind of venerated beast in the kingdom.

Feminine.

It was her-the face seemed a bit familiar, at least to my imagination.

With the crown dangling on her head, the stranger voiced out, "I expected you to be with the Alpha by now."

"Alpha...?" I muttered, keeping my words at the level I wanted it to be. I didn't want her to hear me.

It was indeed a divine presence.

"I'm the first Luna ever in the world of the shifters. The ancient Queen Luna. The Moon Goddess." She spoke, her voice hitting the ground very deeply. Her height wasn't measurable, her breaths cutting the thick air short and the earlier darkness nearly turned to complete light. "I haven't found your presence with me since then..."

The awe I felt made me speak. "But, the divine flashes of light here alone is the presence here. I'm nothing but a rejected wolf. A downcast she-wolf... Destined to reign with an Alpha mate, but fated..."

"Who?" The Moon Goddess continued, as silence engaged in the air, and my head, which burned earlier, now became cool. "Have you got hold of any supporter?"

Any supporters? Each of her words meant more than words to me-like thoughts.

"Supporter?" I echoed, when I understood what she was asking me. "No one stood in for me, not even Henry..."

Henry Trumpson was one of the hearty he-wolves I had been permitted to see during those times. Now, I had been formally rejected. He was a kind, caring wolf who considerately attended to anyone from any friendly pack.

Maybe he was a tourist, I never really knew so much about him. But, never comparable to Alpha King Ryan, Henry was supportive, helpful and affectionate-my rock of safety since we both briefly met.

"Fate is the bad side of everyone's destiny here. And, one thing or the other must happen..." The Moon Goddess's continued in her speech, her magnificent, peace-laced voice as soothing as ever. "You weren't rejected for the rest of your life. But, remember, that your fated mate is one of those wolves you know who lives around this pack ground...!"

My cracking bones gathered together again. Even though the last revelation shocked me, I felt a bit of comfort. "My Alpha mate is here? Does that mean I'm still going to enjoy the reward for my faithfulness in the Blue Howl pack?"

"The rest is in the Alpha King's mouth to say, or in his hands to release..." The Moon Goddess snapped, her voice fading, not for weakness but as another sign, which didn't know yet. "Just be patient for the changes. You'll be a great Queen Luna who will continue the old Blue Howl pack's devotion to me and enjoy a lasting peace."

"One more thing..." I said, cutting my words shut, which were already stuck in my throat anyway. "Can I know which of them is my fated mate? How will I see my own way well and stop treading the wrong path?"

No answer.

"Lara!" A noise cut through the silence and it was repetitive. The voice didn't sound familiar, or maybe not yet. "Lara, are you there?"

Then, the dark again. And, the rustle of leaves on the trees joined the noise, casting me aside again and my back hit a stone. I felt the pain deeply in my bones, but how I could save myself, I didn't know. "Lara..." I whispered my name, trying to figure out the intensity and tone of my voice-to compare with the unseen stranger calling me by name. I continued speaking to myself, my eyes blinking itself as it grew watery. "Just make sure you are fine, Lara. It is your survival right now that matters. Forget about knowing your mate, and be safe..."

The darkness was thicker. No one could be close to my side in such a space, so the voice meant nothing to me-it seemed like an echo of my deceased mother calling me.

More darkness spread on the already dark woods, nearly turning me into a blind, lost wolf in the midst of danger. "Where is the Moon Goddess? I cannot stand this alone! And, what about Henry? He is just a wolf..."

I cried hard. Nothing to do. I was left alone to survive the darkest world myself.

The Moon Goddess was gone. The flashes of light, divine and magnificently frightening, were all wrapped back into the empyrean space. I was trying to blink, as light turned into darkness, so as to find myself again when I heard a gunshot.

Chapter 3 A Narrow Escape

"Whichever kind is here must watch out very carefully!" A voice echoed out of the darkest side of the woods, hitting me very heavily after the gunshot. "The hunters are around. No enemy will be spared!"

Growls, snarls and feet-stomps.

They made a scene in the darkest of the woods, closer to me. I heard bangs on bangs, feet hushing with quick steps and the sound of hands pulling the trigger to bring some unseen beings down.

Another gunshot.

A rustling noise of wolves running up and down hit the ground. From the stomping rush of the claws of unseen wolves to their snarls, continuous and grinding to the ears.

Nervously, I tiptoed away from the spot I was, but I didn't move so far.

But, I was farther from safety than I was, from the deadliest danger which already was before me. "What have I done to deserve this untimely death coming to take my life..." I muttered those words to myself, now feeling I was the only one who understood my current state.

I flinched.

As I turned back, my right foot lifted to cross a very deep, rocky side, the glaring eyes of one of them caught me clearly. "I can see a wolf Queen... here...! A little crown is even carefully worn around her forehead!"

"Catch her!" Another one screamed, hopping towards me. "Kenneth, try to tie her down!"

And, suddenly a power rose inside of me and I felt just the same way I did, when the Moon Goddess was with me, stronger than just a she-wolf-but a prophesied Luna.

The Moon Goddess was present again, but I didn't feel her closeness yet. I just knew she was back, and around, here for me.

Very swiftly, the particular rogue close to me, Kenneth, raised his gun, holding a spear in the other hand. "So, you don't even have strength. Aren't you ashamed of yourself? Why do you think it's safe here when you know Finn, your trusted safety-man has always been a coward?"

"...hhh." I had the strength to attack, but I was held backwards by the strange hands of the Moon Goddess.

"Will you speak up?" Kenneth charged, watching me with his eyes which burned with an inconsiderate anger. "If you won't say a word, I will have to break your head in pieces...!"

"Hold on!" The other rogue called out, waving from a distance. He was already hurting towards us when another gunshot was heard. "Kenneth, I got that hybrid down, just now!"

He seemed to have killed another-a hybrid.

The rogues here were definitely enemies of such beings, different from them. He had shot one of the struggling hybrids out in the woods.

"Nice shot!" Kenneth returned, growling with a hot sigh, of which smelt unpleasant to my nose.

After a few moments, the other rogues from afar was almost a feet here, before he could near me, and as Kenneth tucked his finger around the trigger, the lightning struck him from nowhere and he fell down flat, the bullet rushing away from the hole.

"Ahh... Ah!" Kenneth groaned, as he hit his back on a jagged rock, his spinal cord almost breaking into pieces. "Thad, won't you..."

It was then I heard the name.

The other rogue was Thad.

But, this nearly deceased one, Kenneth, couldn't make up a sentence of his statement when Thad, the other rogue, went on his heels, his hands raised akimbo, rushing away swiftly for his dear life.

I chattered, my eyes tracing Thad as he fled like a poor, powerless being. "How fast you rogues run...!"

"One..." Kenneth muttered, struggling to make other words out of his divinely battered, wounded mouth. "One is..."

I realized his hands pointed to another side of the woods, and I knew he was going to die. But then, I saw a shadow of another wolf, trying to approach me and reach space-where I was, with Kenneth, who was already leaving the world by my hands-with the aid of the Moon Goddess.

"Who is that 'one'?" I said, a strange smile appearing on my chin. "Is he part of you two?"

"A..." Kenneth slurred back, holding onto an already hewn piece of the rock to support himself. "A Beta from..."

"Beta?" I echoed.

I was shocked.

When the shadow formed into a face, it stood right there, watching both of us in the danger scene. My heart was burning and I nearly thought of picking up the gun to shoot the stranger Beta down to death.

Calmly but commandingly at the same time, the Beta called out, almost very close to me. "Lara, the Alpha King has sent me to you..."

I was vexed.

Beta Jonathan.

That wicked, heartless, unfaithful and wandering wolf Beta stared into my eyes and saw a strange strength in me.

"Move close to her if you dare!" Another wolf threatened Jonathan, tying him unawares. "You will tell me why an uncertain wolfsbane was poured into your liquor... How empty and unreasonable your life is!"

The next thing I saw was Jonathan's knees on the ground. And, then the two were shadows again.

"So, you fear too?" I questioned, my eyes moved from the other side back to Kenneth, a sick, half-dead, and helpless rogue. "What a great shame, you stark enemy of peace!"

Kenneth's sighs pressed on as he held his belly stiffly. Maybe he was trying to survive the pain. I wouldn't want him to escape by the way, so I picked up his gun from the ground.

Escape?

He mustn't.

This is where Kenneth's life must end-right here and now. I was conscious and confident of myself, bolder than just a she-wolf, now feeling the Luna that I would be.

"Raise your head!" I ordered.

Kenneth struggled to do as I had said, and as I saw his badly lightning-struck, red forehead raised a bit, I pulled the trigger.

"Don't shoot!" A strange voice, very similar to that of the wolf that tied Jonathan down, echoed out of the dark, hitting me with inward silence.

I already pulled the trigger.

What else then?
