Fated Mate To Alpha

Author: : Balogun Bolatito
Genre: Werewolf
If I could turn back time, I would change everything. I wouldn't have been the weakest Luna, abandoned by those who should have loved me. My name is Emily Freya, born into the Sparkling Star werewolf zone, but from the moment I entered this world, I was cast aside. My parents, along with my entire pack, saw me as a burden-a weakling unworthy of their protection. They distanced themselves, banishing me from the Sparkling Star family and the arena, leaving me alone to face a harsh world. While others thrived in strength and unity, I was left behind, bullied and scorned by those who should have been my allies. Unable to endure the cruelty any longer, I fled the Sparkling Star zone, aimlessly wandering, searching for a way to survive. But with no clear direction, I soon found myself stranded in the treacherous Seaweed Valley, surrounded by danger and evil. Just when I thought all hope was lost, a fierce tornado nearly swept me away into the desert. But fate had other plans. I was rescued by an alpha-strong, fearless, and unlike anyone I had ever known. There was something in his eyes, a sincerity that made me forget my pain, if only for a moment. In that instant, through the warmth of his smile, I began to believe that maybe, just maybe, I wasn't as powerless as I had been told.

Chapter 1 The Cursed Crescent Moon

The wind howled through the Sparkling Star territory as the crescent moon hung ominously in the night sky. Inside the pack's grand hall, silence weighed heavy. The mood was dark, as dark as the suspicions surrounding Emily Freya, a child born during the sacred crescent moon season. What should have been a time of joy had turned into a moment of sorrow and fear for her family and pack.

Alpha Greer Freya, Emily's father, sat brooding on his chair, his eyes fixed on the flickering flames in the hearth. His mate, Ava, stood nearby, her arms crossed over her chest, her face pale and lined with worry. Neither of them could look at the crib by the wall, where their newborn daughter lay sleeping.

"She's cursed," Ava whispered, her voice trembling. "The chief priest warned us, Greer. She said Emily would bring misfortune upon our pack."

Greer's jaw tightened, his fists clenching at his sides. "I know what the priest said, Ava. But I won't abandon my daughter... not yet."

Ava's eyes widened, and she stepped forward. "You don't understand! The gods of the Sparkling Star Zone-this is their doing. They sent Emily to us as a sacrifice, a reminder of our past sins. She's not like the others. She's... different."

Greer sighed heavily, running a hand through his thick gray hair. He had always prided himself on being a strong and fair Alpha, but this was a decision that weighed heavily on his shoulders. His pack was already at war with the Evergreen Clan, a vicious group of vampires determined to seize their lands. The last thing they needed was a child who might bring more bad luck to their already crumbling territory.

"Then what do you suggest we do, Ava? Cast her out? Leave her to die in the wild?" Greer's voice was harsh, but there was pain in his eyes.

Ava lowered her gaze, her lips trembling. "I don't know. But the pack is starting to whisper, Greer. They see her weakness. She doesn't cry like the other pups. She doesn't even move. It's as if... as if she doesn't belong here."

Silence fell between them as Greer stared at his daughter's crib. She was so small, so fragile. But even he could sense something strange about her. Something unnatural.

"I'll speak with the council tomorrow," Greer finally said. "We'll decide what to do then."

---

The next morning, the Sparkling Star Pack's council gathered in the grand hall, their faces grim as they discussed Emily Freya's fate. Brittany Gayle, the chief priest, sat at the head of the table, her wrinkled hands clutching her staff tightly.

"The child is a danger to us all," Brittany said, her voice raspy from years of chanting prayers. "The gods have spoken. Emily Freya is a sacrificial lamb, born under the cursed crescent moon. She will bring destruction to our pack if we allow her to stay."

Greer slammed his fist on the table, his frustration boiling over. "You prophesied this, Brittany. But your visions have been unclear for months. How do we know you've interpreted this one correctly?"

Brittany's old eyes burned with something-fear, perhaps. "I've seen enough to know the truth. I may not be able to see clearly, but the message is always the same. Emily is a threat."

The other members of the council murmured in agreement. Greer's chest tightened with frustration and doubt.

His Beta, Victor Mathis, leaned forward, his sharp eyes studying Greer's face. "Greer, no one wants to see a child harmed. But if Brittany's prophecy is true, then we have to protect the pack. We can't risk it."

A heavy silence fell over the room as Greer's gaze drifted to Ava, who stood quietly by the door, watching with worried eyes. He had hoped the council might see things differently, that someone might offer another solution. But deep down, he knew what had to be done.

"We can't send her away," Greer said, his voice tight. "But we will distance ourselves. If she is meant to bring destruction, we will protect the pack by keeping her away from the heart of it."

Victor nodded, though his expression remained tense. "That might be the best we can do for now."

The council slowly rose, their decision made, but as the last member left the hall, Brittany remained, her gaze fixed on the door.

"There is more to this than you know, Alpha," she whispered, her voice so low that Greer almost didn't hear. "The prophecy... there is another side to it. A side I can't yet see. But make no mistake, Emily's fate is not sealed."

---

Ten years later, Emily had grown, but she remained distant from her parents and the pack. While other wolves her age ran wild in the forest, learning to fight, hunt, and shift with grace and power, Emily was kept hidden, her presence a reminder of the curse on the Sparkling Star Pack.

She watched from the shadows as her peers trained, their movements swift and precise, their eyes glowing with the moon's power. Emily had tried to shift once, but it had been a disaster. Her body had trembled, her bones twisting painfully, and she had collapsed. The others had laughed, calling her weak, a disgrace.

"You'll never be one of us," they taunted. "You're a mistake. A curse."

Emily bit her lip, her heart aching. She had accepted her place as the outcast, the burden no one wanted to bear. But deep down, she still hoped-hoped to prove them wrong.

One night, as the pack prepared for another battle against the Evergreen Clan, Emily overheard a conversation that changed everything.

"The vampires have infiltrated our territory," Victor Mathis said. "They've already slaughtered several omegas. We need to act quickly."

Greer's expression was grim. "If we don't stop them, they'll destroy everything we've built."

Emily's blood ran cold. The Evergreen Clan-the most dangerous vampires in existence. She had heard the stories of their brutality, and now they were here, in her home.

The battle came swiftly. The vampires descended on the pack like a plague. Growls, snarls, and screams filled the air, the details of the chaos blurred in the confusion.

Emily stayed hidden until she saw her father struggling against an overwhelming force. Her heart ached as a vampire approached her, his menacing form looming closer.

"This is the end for you," he hissed.

Fear froze her, but suddenly, a strange energy erupted from her core. A fiery light engulfed the vampire, reducing him to ash. Emily stumbled back, her hands still glowing faintly.

The fight raged on, but Emily's thoughts were elsewhere. She didn't understand the power she had just unleashed, but one thing was clear: she was not as weak as they believed.

And neither was her destiny.

Chapter 2 Exile and Awakening

The battle had ended, leaving the Sparkling Star territory in chaos. The vampires had retreated, but the damage was done. The omegas were slaughtered, and many warriors lay injured or dead. Blood soaked the ground, and the smell of death hung heavily in the air. Victory had come at a great cost.

Emily stood at the edge of the battlefield, her body trembling. She stared at the pile of ashes where the vampire she had killed once stood, her hands still tingling from the fire that had erupted from within her. Everything around her felt distant and unreal.

She had never known she possessed such power, and now she had no idea what to do with it.

As the pack tended to the wounded and mourned their dead, Emily felt the weight of their stares. Whispers filled the air like wildfire, spreading fear and doubt.

"Did you see what she did?"

"She's dangerous."

"That power... it's unnatural."

Her breath hitched, and she stepped back, wishing she could vanish. But before she could slip away, her father, Alpha Greer Freya, approached her. His face was pale, his eyes hard with something she couldn't name.

"Emily," he said, his voice tense. "We need to talk."

Her stomach twisted, but she nodded and followed him. The grand hall loomed ahead, already filled with the council. Their eyes bore into her, filled with the same fear and judgment as the pack.

Victor Mathis, the Beta, spoke first. "What happened out there, Emily? What was that power?"

Emily swallowed hard. "I... I don't know," she admitted, her voice shaking. "It just... happened. I didn't mean to-"

Brittany Gayle, the chief priest, cut her off, her tone sharp. "You summoned fire. Fire no wolf should possess. That's not from the moon gods. It's something darker."

Emily's heart sank. "I didn't want to hurt anyone," she said, barely audible.

Victor frowned. "But you did. You killed a vampire, yes, but what if that power turns on us next time? What if it harms the pack?"

Greer stood silently, watching her. His silence was heavier than words.

Finally, Ava, her mother, spoke from the corner. "We warned you, Greer. The prophecy... The priest told us this would happen. Emily is cursed. She's a danger to all of us."

Emily flinched. She had always felt distant from her parents, but her mother's words hit like a blade.

Greer turned to Ava, his voice cold. "What are you suggesting?"

Ava's gaze was firm. "We must send her away. She cannot stay here."

Murmurs of agreement rippled through the council. Brittany nodded. "The prophecy foretold this. Emily will bring destruction to the pack. We can't risk it."

Emily's blood turned cold. They were going to banish her from the only home she'd ever known. She wanted to plead, to explain, but the words stuck in her throat.

Greer's jaw tightened as he looked at her. For a moment, his eyes softened, but the flicker vanished. "The safety of the pack comes first. Emily, you must leave."

The words hit like a physical blow. She had always been an outsider, but this... this was final.

"Father, please," she whispered. "I didn't ask for this power. I don't even know how to control it. Just... give me a chance."

Greer hesitated, then shook his head. "I'm sorry. We can't take that chance."

Victor stepped forward. "You have until dawn to leave. If you're still here after that... we'll take more drastic measures."

Emily nodded, her throat tight. She understood the unspoken threat. If she didn't leave, they would force her-or worse.

That night, Emily packed what little she had. She shoved her belongings into a small bag, her mind filled with worry. She had no idea where to go. The world outside the Sparkling Star territory was dangerous, but she had no choice.

Before leaving, she stood at the territory's edge, the moonlight casting shadows on the trees. She let the cool breeze wash over her, taking one last look at her home.

When dawn broke, she crossed the border into the unknown.

Hours later, Emily stumbled into the Seaweed Valley. Exhaustion dragged at her limbs, and she collapsed on the rocky ground. She had heard tales of the valley-how few who entered ever returned. But she had nowhere else to go.

As she lay there, a shadow loomed over her. Squinting, she made out a tall figure with broad shoulders and piercing eyes that seemed to glow faintly.

"Who are you?" the figure asked, his voice deep.

Emily struggled to sit up, her voice faint. "No one. Just leave me alone."

The man knelt beside her, studying her intently. "You're not from here, are you?"

She shook her head weakly. "No. I was banished."

For a moment, the man was silent. Then he reached out, his hand firm on her shoulder. "You don't belong here. This valley will kill you."

Emily let out a bitter laugh. "Maybe that's for the best."

The man's grip tightened. "Not if I can help it."

Before she could protest, he lifted her into his arms and carried her away. Darkness swallowed her as exhaustion claimed her.

When Emily woke, she was in a dimly lit stone room. The air smelled faintly of wood smoke. She sat up slowly, her head spinning.

The door creaked open, and the man stepped inside. He was tall and muscular, with dark hair and piercing green eyes.

"Who are you?" she asked hoarsely.

"Arthur Neville," he said. "Alpha of the Woodland Territory."

Her heart sank. Another alpha. Another pack. She didn't want this.

"You shouldn't have brought me here," she muttered.

Arthur raised an eyebrow. "You were dying. I couldn't just leave you."

"I'm not your problem," she insisted.

Arthur's gaze was steady. "You're right. But you're here now. And we'll figure out what to do with you."

Chapter 3 His gaze is Everything I ever wanted.

Emily sat on the edge of the bed, staring down at her trembling hands. The power she had unleashed back at Sparkling Star still lingered in her mind, a mystery she couldn't unravel. She had no idea where it had come from or how she had managed to summon it. All she knew was that it had terrified her pack, leaving her banished and alone in a strange new place.

Arthur Neville, the Alpha of the Woodland Territory, had saved her. But why? She was nothing to him-just a stray wolf with nowhere to go. Yet his kindness, the gentle way he carried her, and the warmth of his smile had sparked something in her she hadn't felt in years. Hope.

The door creaked open, and Arthur stepped inside. His commanding presence filled the room, but there was a calmness about him that made her feel safe. His piercing green eyes met hers, and for a moment, the world outside the small room disappeared.

"You look better," he said, his voice steady and soothing.

Emily managed a faint smile. "I feel better. Thanks to you."

Arthur moved closer, pulling a chair to sit across from her. "You're not like the others, are you?" he asked, his gaze searching hers.

Emily's smile faded as she dropped her eyes to the floor. "No. I'm not."

"You don't have to tell me everything now," Arthur said gently. "But I can see you've been through a lot. Whatever happened in your territory-it wasn't your fault."

His words struck something deep inside her. For years, she had been blamed for everything, treated as though her existence was a curse. But here he was, this alpha, telling her that it wasn't her fault. It felt like a weight was lifting from her chest.

"How can you be so sure?" she whispered, her voice shaking.

Arthur leaned forward, his expression softening. "I've seen enough to know when someone's carrying guilt they don't deserve."

His words were like a soothing balm. For the first time in years, Emily dared to believe that she might not be the curse her pack had claimed she was.

Arthur reached out, placing his hand on hers. His touch was warm and steady, grounding her. "You're safe here," he said softly. "No one will hurt you."

Emily looked up, meeting his eyes. Something unspoken passed between them-a connection she couldn't explain. She didn't want it to end.

"Why did you save me?" she asked, her voice filled with uncertainty.

Arthur's lips curled into a faint smile. "Because you needed someone. And because you're worth saving."

Those words echoed in her mind. *Worth saving.* No one had ever said that to her before-not her parents, her pack, or anyone else.

Before she realized what she was doing, Emily leaned forward and kissed him. It was a tentative kiss, soft and unsure, but when their lips met, a spark ignited. Arthur didn't pull away. Instead, he deepened the kiss, his hand moving to her cheek.

The tenderness in his touch melted the fear and pain that had consumed her for so long. For the first time in years, Emily felt alive.

Their kisses grew more urgent, and Emily's body responded to his every move. A warmth spread through her as she let herself be vulnerable, let herself trust someone. Arthur's hands rested on her waist, pulling her closer as their connection deepened.

She hadn't realized how much she needed this-needed to feel close to someone, needed to matter to someone. All the hurt and rejection she had carried seemed to fade away in Arthur's embrace.

His hands explored her, his touch careful and deliberate. Emily gasped at the sensations coursing through her. She had never allowed herself to be this open with anyone, but with Arthur, it felt right.

"Are you sure?" he murmured, his voice low and husky.

Emily nodded, her heart racing. "Yes. I'm sure."

Arthur kissed her again, and they gave in to the moment, letting desire guide them. The world outside didn't matter.

Later, as they lay tangled together in the sheets, Arthur wrapped an arm around her. His warmth surrounded her, and for the first time, she felt at peace.

"Thank you," she whispered.

Arthur pressed a kiss to her forehead. "You're not alone anymore. You'll never be alone again."

Emily closed her eyes, letting his words sink in. She didn't know what the future held, but she finally felt like she belonged.

---

The next morning, sunlight spilled through the curtains, painting the room in a golden glow. Emily stirred, her eyes fluttering open to find Arthur still beside her, his arm draped protectively over her waist.

She watched him for a moment, her heart swelling with a feeling she couldn't quite name. His presence brought her a calm she hadn't known in years.

But as she lay there, a troubling thought crept into her mind. The Evergreen Clan. The vampires who had attacked her pack were still out there, still a threat to everyone she cared about.

Arthur stirred, his eyes opening. He smiled at her, and for a moment, her worries melted away.

"Good morning," he murmured, his voice thick with sleep.

"Good morning," Emily replied, smiling softly.

"You look happy," Arthur remarked, brushing a strand of hair from her face.

"I am," she admitted. "I haven't felt this way in... a long time."

Arthur's expression grew serious. "You deserve to be happy, Emily."

Her smile faltered. "The Evergreen Clan... They're still out there, aren't they?"

Arthur nodded, his jaw tightening. "Yes. And they'll keep coming."

Emily swallowed hard, fear gnawing at her. "They want me."

Arthur's hand covered hers. "Then they'll have to get through me first." I will find every means to protect you and nothing in this world will make me lose you.

Her heart ached at his words. She wanted to believe in his promise, but she knew the Evergreen Clan wouldn't stop. Not until they had her.
