"Congratulations Ciel! I'm so happy for you." Alistair, Ciel's alpha best friend of sixteen years, cheered before leaning down to take the smaller omega into his arms.
Ciel reciprocated by winding his short arms around the alpha's large muscled back, which made Alistair make a muffled statement on Ciel's petite stature, which in turn got him an elbow jab in his stomach from the omega.
"I'm so happy for me too Alistair, I will finally be able to live with my alpha and we can start the family we've always dreamt of plus, I'm even happier about the fact that Natalie's kids and mine may grow together if Hugo and I mate soon." Ciel squealed happily as an image of Hugo, his boyfriend and himself, playing in the snow or an amusement park, with their child in the future and his sister, with her own mate and kids, formed in his head, causing the smile on his face to broaden.
Ciel had just been offered a job at the New York Institute of fashion as an assistant fashion director, though he was rejected six times for six consecutive years, before he was finally given the position that morning and that fateful day had coincided with Alistair's birthday, so the alpha had offered to take him out to The Cuisine de Venta, a highbrow restaurant that served intercontinental dishes in London.
The omega had been so happy to taste the spicy flavor of the red braised pork belly and rice, after a long three months of eating nothing but croissants and cinnamon rolls, due to his laziness to make healthy homemade meals for himself coupled with the dislike Hugo had for spicy meals. Ciel sighed in satisfaction as the familiar taste penetrated his taste buds.
Even though the food was not as delicious as the homemade, rich and tasty variety of dishes his mum used to make for him when he was younger, it was better at least to taste something a bit similar.
Ciel chuckled internally, when he realized Hugo would have no other option, but to adapt to the spiceless American dishes, that he was so much scared of. Hugo had left London for America, the month before as he had been offered a job as a software developer there.
So here he was, scarfing down the delicious dish as he cheerfully conversed with Alistair.
"My little Ciel is not so little anymore, you are going to start a pack of your own very soon, I'm sure of that and even if Hugo and I will never get along in this life we are in-" Alistair mused, which earned him a slightly nasty pinch on his bicep from Ciel's face.
"What? I'm just saying." Alistair huffed, before dropping his chopsticks to soothe the area Ciel pinched.
Ciel just snorted at his best friend, before reaching over to steal a freshly steamed beef from Alistair's plate.
"I don't hate the guy, but it's clear that, he doesn't and will probably never like me and I'm cool with that, as long as he treats you well and you're happy to be with him," Alistair said which made Ciel smile.
"You're such a big emotional oaf most times Ali, I swear," Ciel uttered to the alpha.
"So, when are you leaving for New York?" The alpha asked, taking a swig of beer.
"Why? Are you so eager to get rid of me?" Ciel teased.
"Yes, exactly." Alistair deadpanned.
"We have such a beautiful friendship." Ciel rolled his eyes, before sighing.
"I should leave in a week, they want me to start work over there as soon as possible and there are just little zoom meetings I can do," Ciel explained, to which Alistair nodded in agreement.
"I'm going to miss you badly, what am I going to do with my boring ass life?" Alistair wondered aloud with a pout.
"I will miss you too, but I will call you six to eight times a day, so you don't miss me too much, how is that?" Ciel suggested.
"Make it ten."
"Ali, you have to start mingling with other people. I'm still so worried about how you are going to live without me." Ciel sighed as he gazed at the alpha.
"I mingle with other people though." Alistair retorted.
"Yes, because Molly is a Maltipoo that turns human at times." Ciel mocked.
"Hey! Don't speak about my baby in such a disrespectful manner," Alistair whined in an unalphalike manner, which made Ciel snort out a laugh.
"But seriously Alistair, try to talk with other people at least your coworkers, and who knows if you may finally find an omega, that is up to your taste," Ciel suggested and Alistair just huffed.
"Please, my coworkers are the most annoying people on earth and I don't need them, if I talk to them I'd get even more depressed." The alpha uttered.
"I'm fine duckie, I will be okay, don't stress yourself too much over me," Alistair reassured and warmly squeezed Ciel's hand for a bit before withdrawing his hand to continue eating.
"I hope so."
+++
"Hey, babe." Ciel beamed into the phone, waving at his boyfriend, Hugo, who was cladded in a pair of sweatpants and nothing upward with his body sheen with sweat, and his blonde hair tousled and a bit damp.
It seemed as if he had been exercising, before he picked up the call as he was breathing rapidly.
"Hi, my love, how are you?" Hugo asked, as he waved shortly at Ciel, who giggled at the gesture.
"I'm okay."
"I'm sorry I haven't called you since last week, I've been so busy and occupied with work, our company is currently developing this app that's extremely complicated and technical, I haven't even had time for myself, I was even thinking of calling you after exercising." Hugo rambled on with a sad pout wrinkling his lips, which made Ciel huff.
"Of course, I understand, I'm not some attention whore or a whiny bitch that always needs attention, I know you went to New York for work and I can comprehend that, just take care of yourself and don't strain yourself too much." Ciel exhorted.
"Yes, babe, thanks for understanding, I just came back from work not quite long ago, so, I decided to do some push-ups, because I missed gym days throughout last month, and with how heavier the workload is getting, I may miss more and I don't want to go out of shape, I want you to have something to hold onto when we-" Hugo arched his eyebrow teasingly, with a mischievous smile on his face.
Ciel just snickered, with an unimpressed look sitting on his face.
"Hugo, you shouldn't be stressing yourself like this, you just came back from work, rest a bit before you exercise, you're making me worry." Ciel sighed in apprehension as he massaged his forehead.
"Yes, mum." Hugo snorted playfully at Ciel expecting his boyfriend to laugh, but the omega's plain expression instantly erased the lopsided grin off his face.
"Fineeee, I will eat and sleep now, I promise, but to be honest, I'm fine and I'm not pressurizing myself, let's talk about you, me. What did you do today?" The alpha asked.
"Nothing much babe, I just hung out with Alistair, today is his birthday." Ciel explained cheerfully. He gulped nervously, when he noticed the way Hugo's jaw locked as an inexplicable expression flashed across his face, but he quickly shook it off, and replaced it with one of his blinding smiles, which only added to Ciel's anxiety.
The omega often wondered if Alistair and Hugo would ever get along in their present life, and the thought augmented his overthinking.
"Oh, that's great, I guess," Hugo said, to which Ciel nodded as an awkward silence ensnared their conversation.
Ciel then remembered the reason he called Hugo, and a huge smile leaped on his face, which made the alpha conflicted but he smiled at his boyfriend anyways.
"So, I have great news!" Ciel announced with an exaggerated gasp.
"Oh really? What is it?" Hugo questioned.
"My application to be an assistant fashion director got accepted by The New York institute of fashion!" Ciel shrieked happily, as he shook with excitement.
"What? Are you serious?" Hugo gasped.
"Yes, I fucking am!" Ciel responded.
"Wow! Congratulations, baby! I'm so proud of you, I could kiss you right now." Hugo beamed at the omega.
"Thank you, you can kiss me next week when I come back to New York permanently and we have the whole time to ourselves," Ciel announced cheerfully, with a huge blinding grin on his face.
Thinking about the fact that, he was going to be in the same environment with his intended mate by that time in the following week made warmth and happiness gush out of him.
"You're coming to New York? I thought it was an online job thingy." Hugo muttered which unsettled Ciel.
The reaction Hugo had to the news was a far cry, from how the omega had thought he would behave. It seemed like Hugo wasn't as enthusiastic about his moving back to New York at all.
"Uhm, Yeah, I thought it was like that too, but apparently there are some activities I have to physically supervise, so..." Ciel trailed off and Hugo just nodded.
"You said you're coming back next week right? When exactly?" The alpha questioned.
"I don't know yet, I still have to organize and settle stuff here, but I should be there before next Sunday."
"Okay, babe, I'll see you soon, I guess," Hugo muttered which set Ciel off.
"Why do I feel you're angry with me moving back home?" The words spurted out of Ciel's mouth, before he could stop them.
"What do you mean by that? I'm happy you're moving here, why would I be mad?" Hugo bit back.
"You don't look or sound excited," Ciel stated.
"I'm sorry you thought about it like that, I'm very happy you're moving back though. It's probably the stress from work that's starting to get to me, I want you with me of course," Hugo uttered, and a weird anxious feeling settled at the bottom of Ciel's stomach.
Something just felt off with his boyfriend, but he couldn't put a finger on what it was exactly.
"Okay then, rest well, I will talk to you later. I love you." Ciel mused.
"Yeah, same here, bye," Hugo said and proceeded to hang up immediately.
Ciel sat on his couch with his mouth agape as he stared at his phone like it was a foreign object, his boyfriend's actions stupefied and distressed him.
He just hoped they would be able to settle whatever was wrong peacefully between them when he got back home.
With that reckoning, he stood up to perform his nightly routine.
Damon looked outside his car's window as he caressed his jaw in deep thoughts, with his other hand absent-mindedly stroking his thigh.
He was getting mated in six days, to his family friend of fifteen years, and to say he was still trying to come to terms with the idea was an understatement. Damon had tried to push off the wedding as far as he could, until he decided he was ready, but his Grandmother had quickly caught on with his tricks, and had decided that, he got married that year.
As she complained, Damon was getting older as the years flew by, which had caused the alpha to snort, as he was just thirty-three years old. Also, he knew some of his alpha friends didn't get married, until they were well into their late forties
It wasn't as if his intended mate was ugly or anything, he just couldn't feel any magical spark of affection for her, even though Natalie was a very pretty and kind omega. He tried his best to like her back, but his efforts were futile and though, Natalie claimed to be fine with it, Damon felt guilty sometimes, when he realized that Natalie was going to be stuck in a loveless marriage with him like his parents.
Damon's Grandmother had almost guiltily tricked him into becoming mates with Natalie back when the alpha just clocked eighteen years of age, claiming that Natalie's parents had helped resuscitate and stabilize their company, back when it used to be in a state of flux, and she wanted to repay them, but Damon had managed to stall for thirteen more years, making up excuses and furthering his education, but he eventually discovered the real reason two years, after his engagement and temporary bonding with the female omega.
It was because of a silly drunken promise his late father had made with Natalie's dad, when Natalie was born that he would give up his first son to the first child of the Lynox clan and blue moon park.
He sometimes wished he was in some sort of a trance, and that he would wake up free, without a marriage obligation, but he knew that was as impossible as a basket getting filled up with water.
"Damon? Moreno!" Scarlett, his best friend since high school, and the assistant director of his software development company nudged him back to reality.
"Oh! Hi?" Damon muttered as his eyes flocked lazily over to gaze at the beta.
"What were you thinking so deeply about? Are you still worried about your mating? If you don't feel like getting mated, just walk up to your mum and tell her how you feel, I'm sure she'll understand, you're always so out of it nowadays. Yesterday, you almost drank my mug of coffee forgetting you've always had an anaphylactic reaction towards it, at this rate, you may just get yourself killed." Scarlett huffed as she reclined backward.
Damon had made it a mandatory routine for Scarlett to always ride with him to work, even though the beta had her own luxurious car.
Though the alpha would never admit to the fact that, he was extremely lonely and his best friend reduced that burdensome feeling, just by her presence. Her gentle, fresh laundry smell reminded him of how his late dad used to smell back when he was alive, and he was younger. He used to creep into his dad's arms when he had a terrible nightmare or when there was a terrible bout of a thunderstorm.
The bittersweet thought of his late dad made Damon sigh, as nostalgia coursed through his veins.
"I'm fine, thanks for caring," Damon answered sharply, after clearing his throat as he looked down at his wristwatch. He still had about four more hours until the torturous pre-wedding dinner he was obligated to have with Natalie, which his birther had organized in his name as a surprise for his fiancée.
Damon swallowed harshly as he heaved a sigh of exasperation, he wasn't even mated yet and he was already so frustrated with what was currently happening.
"Damon, I care about you a lot like a big brother and I want the best for you, please try to be happy if you can't tell me what's bothering you, okay?" Scarlett mused.
"Okay, Lettie, don't worry your little head over this, I'm really fine, I'm just trying to acclimatize myself with everything, it'll be okay in the end, I'm sure of it," Damon reassured the female beta, indirectly bolstering himself too.
"You said so, if you keep going on like this, I may meet up with Margaret and report her Grandson to her, you know she asked me to keep tabs on you." Natalie nagged which made the alpha roll his eyes in mock ire.
"Scarlett, I'm fine. Please don't meet up with my Grandma to make her hasten the mating ceremony further." Damon suspired brusquely as he massaged the stressed crease of his eyebrows.
"We're here!" Damon uttered in relief as he hurriedly hopped out of his car. In a bid to escape Scarlett's further interrogation, he walked sharply in long strides to hinder the beta from catching up with him.
"Wait for me, you long-legged bastard!" Damon heard Scarlett yell, as she struggled in her huge ass almost eight inches heels, that she was obsessed with due to her dainty physique.
Damon repressed the urge to laugh at her helplessness as he hastened his pace to reach the entrance of the company.
The security guards bowed at him as soon as they sighted him, and he just responded to them with a short wave, before briskly continuing in the direction of his office.
"Damon, you asshole!" Scarlett panted as she soon caught up with Damon, whose lips quivered in a smug smile as he reduced his pace, to allow the beta catch up with him.
"I will be in my office, don't come in, unless it's something extremely important or life-threatening," Damon muttered, before trekking into his office, stifling the urge to laugh at the petty insults that, Scarlett hurled at him.
Damon let out a deep breath as he plopped down on the armchair in his office. He longed for a person who could fill the deep ache in his heart, and understand him. The alpha wanted someone, who would try to get to know him little by little, and not a person, who was only swayed by his physical appearance.
Whenever he saw how happy some of his friends were with their mates at their weddings or a business banquet, the alpha internally wished and hoped, that he would at least get a chance to experience such a heartwarming love once in his lifetime.
But, the alpha knew he would just have to wish for that to happen to him, in his next life, seeing as there was no way out of the torture of a lifetime that, he was going to get himself into in some days time.
He ran his hands through his auburn hair for the umpteenth time, as he loosened his tie a bit, in preparation to go over the files and proposals for that day, after pulling himself out of his self-pitying thoughts.
A knock was heard on the door after a while, which distorted his concentration and Damon jerked his head upwards to answer it, dropping his pen on the table.
"Come in," Damon uttered, and a mass of long dark hair appeared, before the smiling face of his fiancée, Natalie, emerged, which made the alpha fake a smile to usher her in.
"Surprise!" Natalie giggled as her tall, lean body approached his desk. She dumped her bag on the couch, before moving over to Damon, who was internally cringing at everything his fiancée was doing, but still managed to keep a sweet smile deeply rooted on his features.
"How have you been, my dearest honey?" Natalie asked as she sloppily kissed Damon who languidly kissed back, before she withdrew her lips and shifted the files, that the alpha had been working on further away from him, and then she rooted herself on the desk, in between the alpha's seated form.
"I'm good, you seem quite happy, you got a million bucks deposited in your account?" Damon asked, trying to feign interest in Natalie as his hand slowly caressed her narrow hips in an awkward way.
"No, I'm just happy to see you, I've missed you a lot, you know, it's quite unfair that I get to see you once a week and we're getting mated in a few days." Natalie pouted, twirling the long strands of her curly hair with her fingers.
"I'm sorry, I've been engaged with a lot of contract signings, you know we are launching a new app soon, so there are a lot of preparations ongoing." Damon retorted, which made the female omega's pout deepen, and Damon desperately wished for Scarlett to sense his uneasiness and barge into his office, under the guise of an emergency.
"I heard you arranged a date for us today, I'm sorry I don't think I can be there though. I have my final dress fitting by exactly that time and after that, I have to go to the spa and go for the ca-"
The landline phone on Damon's desk rang, which put a temporary end to their discussion much to the alpha's solace.
"Yes, Scarlett?" Damon uttered as he placed the phone against his ear, trying not to show his relief at the interruption.
The news Damon heard made him rise from his seat immediately, with a frown etched on his face, which startled Natalie as she looked up at him in confusion.
"What do you mean by that? I will be there right now." Damon said, and placed the receiver back on the speaker box.
"Nattie, I'm so sorry, but I have to leave urgently for a meeting. Our almost developed app ju-"
"Okay, baby, I'm sorry again, that I won't be on the date, I'll make it up to you during our honeymoon." Natalie giggled flirtatiously as she wiggled her brows, and seductively bit her lower lip. The expression his fiancée had on her face almost made Damon barf the contents of his stomach.
"Er-uhm, I need to go now." Damon reiterated with a plain expression.
"Oh! my bad, let me excuse you, I'll be on my way now, darling, take care," Natalie said, and bade the alpha farewell, by placing a wet kiss on his cheek, which made Damon stiffen.
"Try to loosen up a bit alpha, you don't act like the Trueblood that you're at all, apart from the domineering physique, you're so gentle and tender even in bed." Natalie teased Damon who feigned a chuckle.
"Anyways, don't let me keep you waiting," Natalie said as her phone rang with a notification, which made her smile as she hurried over to the couch, to pick up her formerly discarded bag.
"Bye, baby." The omega yelled as she slipped out of the door, and a sigh of relief escaped the Trueblood's lips.
Scarlett briskly shuffled to the office, with a cunningly suspicious grin on her face.
"So, how did the game code get leaked? Was it the intern?" Damon asked, with an impatient frown on his face as he almost leaped over to Scarlett, while ignoring the unbothered expression on her face.
"What game code?" Scarlett threw back, with a smirk.
"Didn't you call me to tell me about the game code that got leaked?"
"I did? I can't seem to recall ever doing that."
"Be serious for once, goddammit!" Damon barked as his forest green eyes, angrily bore into Scarlett's soul, which took the beta slightly aback. Even though betas were made to never submit to an alpha, Damon's Trueblood pheromones were extremely powerful on any rank of werewolves.
"Okay fine! I was just teasing you, I did it to get you out of the situation, I saw Natalie walking into your office, and I know how pensive you get with her. Plus you look like you are about to slam your head into a wall." Scarlett muttered.
"You scared me for nothing, I was about to fire the engineers," Damon said.
"I'm sorry. Though, I don't think you should speak to your savior in that manner." Scarlett scoffed and crossed her arms over her chest, which made the alpha shake his head.
"Sorry," Damon mumbled.
"Damon, you know when you both get mated, you won't be able to easily scamper out of some situations and you are really sure you want that girl as your eternal mate," Scarlett stated.
"Yes, I have no other option now, do I?" Damon huffed as he walked back to his desk and sat down behind it.
"You may leave now, we shouldn't discuss stuff unrelated to work during work hours." The alpha instructed as he rearranged the files on his desk.
Scarlett just gazed at her best friend, with sympathy and pity deeply rooted in her eyes and sighed, before leaving Damon's office.
Damon stared at the door as it closed behind the beta, and held his face in his hands as he glared frustratingly at the paperwork in front of him, with different thoughts wrestling in his head. He knew everything Scarlett laid out, was nothing but the truth. The alpha pondered within himself, on how he was going to relate and get along with Natalie, when they began living in his penthouse as mates.
At least, he wouldn't have to see Natalie after work to compound his stress. Damon thought in self-consolation.
Ciel stepped out of the airplane with a beam imprinted on his face as he looked around his environment.
Everything looked extremely strange but beautiful to him, though he knew New York would have been far more developed than it was when he left the country more than a decade ago, he was still amazed by the wonderful scenery around him.
The pictures of the city his mum used to send to him did no justice to the magnificent buildings he was currently gazing at.
Still, in awe of his surroundings, the omega trawled his luggage to the waiting area of the airport and took his seat on the long slightly foam-padded steel chair.
Ciel then took his phone out of his pocket and switched the airplane mode off before sending a text to his sister that he had arrived at the airport, he felt down a little when he didn't see any of his family members around to welcome him after his long travel.
"Chick?" That sweet tiny melodious voice and nickname that Ciel could recognize anywhere in the world called unsurely.
Ciel gazed up from his phone to check if the bearer of the voice was the same person he thought it was and true to his instincts, it was his elder sister and only sibling, Natalie.
His eyes crinkled at the corners in a smile when Natalie gave him one of her pretty gummy smiles.
"Nattie!" Ciel squealed loudly as he leaped up from where he was seated to engulf his sister in a warm hug.
They stayed like that for a while swaying slowly as Ciel burrowed his nose into his sister's scent gland closing his eyes when the honey and coconut oil scent he had missed so much invaded his nostril, calming and soothing his nostalgia.
"You're scenting me? have you forgotten I have a mate and a true blood alpha at that, you've forgotten how possessive Trueblood alphas get." Natalie chuckled as she gently caressed Ciel's ashy blonde hair.
"I missed you so much, Nattie, and I come first before your mate," Ciel mumbled when they disengaged from the hug with his bottom lip jutting out in a pout.
"Yes baby, you always do, I missed you too, how is work and everything?" Natalie asked with a smile framing her lovely face.
"Work is hectic and if by everything you mean my alpha, he's fine too and I will introduce him to you today, he's coming over to our house." Ciel disclosed in a mock whisper to the female omega who theatrically gasped and covered her mouth with both hands.
"Really? Is he handsome? How did you both even meet? Did he come with you from England?" Natalie inquired as curiosity swept over her face.
"You'll see him, Nat, it's a surprise." Ciel laughed and looped his arm with his sister's.
"How are mum and dad doing?" Ciel asked.
"Mum is doing well, she wanted to come with me but she still had a lot to prepare for your homecoming, and Dad will arrive from Italy this evening." Natalie supplied and Ciel nodded.
"Wait, let me ask Albert to take your luggage to the car." The female omega said to which Ciel nodded with a smile as she typed on her phone.
An unfamiliar middle-aged man in uniform soon arrived and bowed to Natalie and Ciel.
"Welcome to New York, Sir Ciel" The man greeted Ciel who just beamed at the man.
"His luggage is over there, handle them extra carefully, okay?" Natalie instructed the man who nodded obediently before going over to do as she commanded.
"Who is he?" Ciel asked as he trekked with his sister to her car.
"He's the new driver Dad just employed." The female omega explained and Ciel hummed.
"We have a lot to catch up on, I'm going to squeeze out information from you about your alpha, just watch me." Natalie huffed when they were both settled in the car which made Ciel chuckle.
Natalie might have changed in appearance but she was still as funny and bubbly as she had always been when they were younger.
"By the way, Nat, I can't wait to finally meet your alpha, I could recall when you threatened hell and back that you were going to poison him if mum and dad forced you both to mate and now look at you, so smitten by him." Ciel teased as he jabbed his sister's side which made pink stain the female omega's cheeks.
The male omega had barely clocked thirteen years of age when his sister had placed a skype video call to him and had cried for over two hours on the call about how their parents were offering her as a sacrificial lamb to the red glacier park and had informed him that she was going to commit suicide, which made Sol panic that he called their parents to let them know.
"Okay, so I might have made a mistake by judging him easily before I got to know him, I'm sure you would have done that too, I mean, I was just seventeen years old when we got engaged, but now that we've spent time together and bonded to some extent, I can say he's the best alpha ever, he's a true blood with an oppressive and intimidating frame but trust me when I tell you how flushed he easily gets, he's so adorable and I'm sure you'll like him." Natalie blushed and Ciel laughed.
It was quite refreshing to see his sister happy and in love, he hoped his sister's alpha was up to his expectations.

"My baby!" Amber, Ciel, and Natalie's omega mother cried as soon as the omega stepped into the mansion.
"Mummy!" Ciel whined as he delved into his mum's outstretched arms and inhaled the aroma of spices from the food she had been cooking as she had an apron tied around her waist mixed with her natural tranquilizing citrus scent that reminded Ciel of a freshly juiced orange spooked with a dash of ginger powder.
Natalie just scoffed playfully at their antics before trudging Ciel's luggage to his room.
"My perfect baby, you are all grown up now." Amber sobbed as she gently caressed Ciel's face which made the omega lean further into her soothing hand.
"Did those asshole alphas bother you in England?" Amber asked as she carefully observed Ciel who just smiled.
"Nope."
"Do you have an alpha now?"
"Yup."
"Baby, I'm your mum and you should tell me stuff, why did you keep it from me?" Amber groaned.
"I wanted to make it a surprise, he's coming to visit us today though, he's on his way," Ciel announced which made Amber's eyes widen comically.
"You should have informed me earlier, so I would have prepared more dishes." Amber sighed.
"I'm sure he won't mind mum, plus this is enough." Ciel gestured to the literal feast of his favorite dishes set on the dining table.
"Are you sure?"
"Yes, mum." The male omega nodded with a smile.
"My little prince has grown so much, you're so pretty, my darling." Amber praised and leaned down to peck Ciel's forehead.
"Thanks, mum."

"Thanks for accepting me, Ma'am Amber and Natalie, I promise you both that I will take care of Ciel with my whole life, if he accepts me as his mate." Ciel overheard Hugo say to his mum and sister while he conversed with his Dad who just arrived from Italy some hours ago.
Realization dawned on him when he figured out what Hugo just said which made Ciel's inner omega bristle with elation.
Hugo was going to propose to him soon, his dream of raising his kids with Natalie will finally come to pass.
"Ciel." His dad, Nathan called which made the omega drop his chopsticks to focus on his dad.
"Yes, Dad?"
"Are you really happy with him? A foreigner?"
"Yes, I am."
"Does he treat you well? Don't lie to me because if I find out he's not treating you like the prince you are, I may murder him." Nathan said in his gruff voice as he took a long puff of the tobacco stick in his hand.
"He treats me well paps, don't worry about it, I won't be with him if he's such an asshole." Ciel smiled in assurance as he briefly squeezed his dad's hand from across the table.
"We're good then." Nathan cleared his throat and took another whiff of the nicotine.
Ciel then stood up from his seat and went closer to his seated dad to wrap his limbs around the alpha's neck from behind in a warm embrace.
"I love you, Dad." The omega said and tilted his head sideways to place a peck on his dad's cheeks.
"I love you too." The elder alpha huffed out as he tenderly patted Ciel's arms and silence ensued as the father and son duo basked in each other's warmth.
"Sorry to interrupt your touching moment, but mum wants you to know she's done with Hugo." Natalie's voice invaded the calm of the room as she sat back on the dining chair with Hugo just standing awkwardly in the middle of the sitting room.
"Okay," Ciel said and kissed his dad's other cheek before going around to interlock his hand with Hugo's who leaned down to lock their lips together.
"Do you wanna leave now?" Ciel whispered to the alpha who nodded eagerly.
"Mom, Dad, and Natalie, we are leaving now," Ciel yelled and his mum instantly appeared with a traditionally silk-wrapped box which Ciel knew would contain lasagna and probably steamed beef.
"Here." Amber thrusted the package into Hugo's hand who though dumbfounded at the gesture bowed in appreciation as he accepted it.
"Take care, chick." Natalie beamed as she turned back to climb the stairs leading to her room.
"Let me speak to Hugo briefly," Nathan uttered as he stood up to his full domineering height, a sharp contrast to Ciel's demure frame.
Hugo looked at Nathan in fright and the omega just chuckled before squeezing the alpha's hand in reassurance.
Ciel often wondered how he managed to be the dainty child of the family since his parents and sister were so tall and model-like plus Ciel had deep blue eyes and natural ashy blonde wavy hair, a distinction to his parents and sister's auburn curly hair coupled with their amber orbs.
His parents blamed it on the fact that Ciel was a Trueblood omega and it was widely believed that Truebloods were naturally sculpted by the luna of beauty herself as they had such exquisite and unusually gorgeous looks.
"What did he say?" Ciel questioned Hugo eyes darting around in curiosity as the alpha joined him where he was standing at the threshold of the mansion.
"Nothing much, babe" Hugo smiled and intertwined their hands together again as they strolled to Hugo's car with Ciel's mum closely following behind them.
"Bye baby." Amber waved to Ciel as Hugo hit on the gas and the omega waved back with a smile.
Ciel and Hugo had agreed for Ciel to move into the alpha's place, the day after Natalie's mating ceremony but at that moment, Ciel was going to spend the night with his boyfriend because he had missed the alpha so much.
+++
"Are you ready for the night, my baby?" Hugo drawled as he gazed at Ciel when they both stepped into the alpha's apartment.
Ciel didn't reply, instead, he looped his arms around Hugo's neck and tiptoed to kiss him and that was enough as a response for the alpha who scooped him up as they headed to the alpha's bedroom.
