Falling For My Boss's Son

Anna sat on her bed, pondering on what the next five years of her life would be like. Turning 22 was like a big thing for her. She just turned 22 few days ago. She thought of a life with a boyfriend, living comfortable and happy, but all that didn't work for her. She felt everything wasn't working the way she dreamt of. Even though her dream of living independently worked, she wasn't still happy.

The blaring sound of the electric kettle from the kitchen was what drew her out of her trance as she ran to the kitchen to put off the switch and make coffee for herself. She didn't have work today, so she decided to stay at home and relax. She rented the apartment 3 weeks ago after she got called for the job she acquired online. She never believed online job opportunities were real until she was given one, all thanks to Rebecca, her best friend who convinced her to apply for it.

She went back to the sitting room and switched the TV on to watch some movies on Netflix. She so much loved movies with passion. There was a time she had to pay 10 bucks only for a movie.

The sound of her apartment's door drew her attention out of the movie she was watching as she mumbled to the door. When she got there, she opened it and saw the house agent. He was the man who brought her to her apartment. He works as a caretaker.

"Good morning Mr Ray." She greeted him, acting all sleepy.

"Morning Miss Anna. How are you doing today?" He asked her, shining his yellow gap toothed teeth.

"I'm ok Mr Ray." She replied, giving a fake smile.

"Well........I came to inform you that you have a new neighbor who lives next door." He told her.

"Oh! That's nice." She said looking outside her apartment.

"Yeah and I think you two will make good neighbors." He said before waving as he left. Anna rolled her eyes as she banged the door.

"Such an asshole." She cursed as she went back to her movie.

3: pm in the evening ( that same day)

After Anna's siesta, she decided to go for an evening work. She wore a pink crop top and a black leggings with a grey jacket. After checking if she was ready to go, she came out of her apartment and locked the door. She majestically walked out of the building and went into the streets. She walked for a while before arriving at a beautiful restaurant.

It had beautiful lights that complimented with the night. It was open and filled with people, which many of them were couples. She gulped down saliva as she went into the restaurant and sat down on an empty booth. A male tall, handsome waiter came and took her order not forgetting to flirt with her a little.

Anna didn't like flirting, but as far as it came from a young and attractive man, who is she to reject it. Few minutes later, he came back with her orders and kept them on the table. "Thank you." She said sweetly as he winked at her before leaving.

She smiled as she started eating her food. Suddenly, someone came and sat opposite her. The booth was a double sitter so the other side was empty. Anna raised her head a bit and saw a man of about 30 or 29 years old. He looked so handsome and rich. He was putting on a black leather jacket with a white sport shoe and a blue jean.

He was so cute and looked sexy. Anna stopped herself immediately from drooling over a stranger. "Excuse me. You didn't ask for permission before sitting down here." Anna informed him as he didn't even look at her for a second.

"I don't need to to take permission or ask anyone if I want to do anything." He said still pressing his phone. Anna really and badly wanted to look at his eyes but he was putting on some shades.

"Look Mr I think you have to get up or........."

"Or what?" He asked immediately, removing his shade. It was then that Anna knew he had blue attractive eyes. They were like that of a blue ocean.

"Look Miss, I'm not in for this nonsense. Just get the fuck out of here." He said, looking irritated. It rang like a bell in Ann's ears. She quickly stood up.

"I don't care to know who the fuck you are now, but leave this table this minute before I get mad at you." She yelled at him, catching the attention of everyone in the restaurant.

"Then I suggest you leave before I make you to do so." He spat, with a little bit of rage in his eyes. It had gotten to Ann's neck this time. She swiftly slapped him on his cheek, making him to stagger back. She never leaves any stone unturned.

She sighed as she carried her purse and left the restaurant. She didn't want to create any other scene, but when she got to the door, a hand dragged her back and pushed her to the table. "How dare you fuckin hit me?" The young man asked her in full rage.

"I think you should know your boundaries first." Anna attacked back.

"Wow......" He clapped his hands turning around. Everyone's concentration was on the both of them. "See who is talking about boundaries. You low budgeted beggar." He insulted her, raising his voice.

Anna stood there in shame as he insulted her to the core. She ignored him as she grabbed her bag and ran out of the restaurant. She was forcing back her tears in her eyes. She never likes anyone insulting her publicly, especially a guy. It reminds her of her highschool days when her first boyfriend humiliated her in front of the whole school.

He body shamed her for being slim at that time. People laughed at her so much that it pained her heart. He also told everyone how weak she was in bed. He also told everyone how her father left his family and ran away, leaving the mother with her two older siblings, including her.

As she thought about all these, she wept as she went back to her apartment and cried her eyes out that night. It was really a bad night for her.

The next morning, Anna didn't feel alright to get ready for work. She sighed as she crawled out of bed and went to the bathroom to brush her teeth, afterwards, she took her bath and wore a blue chiffon shirt and a black skirt. She dressed cooperate because she works as a secretary for a big firm.

After having her breakfast, she picked up her handbag and went out of her apartment, not forgetting to lock the door. As she was looking the door, she noticed that her new neighbor was also going out too. She raised her head up to look at him only to be surprised and shocked.

Her new neighbor was the guy she almost got into a fight with yesterday at the restaurant. He also stared at her in surprise, but he raised his brows and started walking off. Anna composed herself as she also ignored him and passed. She was still surprised because he looked rich and she never imagined that he could live in a one room apartment.

She took a taxi to her office which was a few kilometers away. The handsome guy, got in on his bike and drove off to his destination.

Anna walked into her office still thinking about that guy who is now her neighbor, when a hand pulled her aside. "Where have you been? Haven't you heard?" Rose, her colleague asked her as she whispered.

"What?" Anna asked with surprise.

"The boss's son is arriving here today. Actually he has been in town for a while now, but due to his radical and stubborn lifestyle, he hasn't been in touch with his father since then. But they've reconciled and I think they are having a get together party too." Rose informed her.

Anna rolled her eyes. "So this is all it's about? Well, I'm not interested in their family's business or whatever. I'm here to work and that which I do." Anna smiled forcefully at her before heading to her office. She left Rose there eyeing her.

She cat walked to her office and shut the door. She was caught off guard by that incident earlier today that she didn't remember to come earlier to work so she could finish some work on some files. She spent her time completing the work before going to hand it over to her boss.

Mr Donald was a very rich man. He was bastardly rich and influential. He was old but still looked young and strong. His wife was also the same. They had 3 children. The boss's who was visiting that day was his second child. Mr Donald was a very good man who treated his workers and staffs with respect and dignity.

Anna liked him very much and saw him as a father. She submitted the files and went back to her office to work on other things.

Few minutes later, a staff in the office knocked on her office door. "Come in." She said.

The young middle aged woman came into her office. "Mr Donald's son has arrived and everyone is at the ground floor." She informed her.

"Ok, thank you." Anna said smiling at her. At first she didn't want to go, but after much thought, she decided to go.

She went to where everyone gathered and greeted the supposed boss's son who was mannerless and stubborn to even respond. She stood there watching to see who the guy was until he passed with his father. She felt like she was dreaming. She pinched herself and felt the pain.

He also stopped and turned to her. Something made him turn back. He saw her and started grinning mischievously. Everyone stopped talking and started staring at the both them. He came closer to her and pulled a strand of her hair to relax at the back of her ear. "Wow wow wow. See who we have here. Mrs right." He said out loud.

Anna turned to him, folding her arms. She promised herself not to cry for anything again. "What is this Liam?" Mr Donald, his father asked him.

"Thought you would be one of those classy girls that lived an expensive life, but here you are, working in my dad's company. Isn't that a shame to you?" He said, walking around her. He had sworn to embarrass her anywhere he finds her and this is a very good opportunity since it's his father's company.

Anna prayed for the ground to open and swallow her. "You are so pathetic!" He cursed sighing.

"Enough Liam!!" Mr Donald finally yelled at him. It was then he snickered before leaving for his father's office. Anna folded her hands in a fist. She felt like punching his face that minute but if she did that, she would put her work in jeopardy.

She rubbed her forehead and angrily went back to her office. People started chattering and mummuring.

She was boiling in the inside. She felt so angry and pained at the same time. Soon after that, she received a call from her boss. "Come to my office." He said through the telephone.

"Ok sir." She said still frowning. She knew she couldn't go in there frowning and angry, so she calmed herself and went to his office. She also saw his son, who she now know as Liam seated quietly.

"Sit down dear." Mr Donald signaled Anna to sit on the seat beside Liam. She quietly did so. Liam attempted to leave but his father stopped him immediately. He came back to sit, but facing the wall this time. "Now, I need to know what is going on between you two?" Mr Donald started.

No one was ready to talk, not even Anna. "Ok, Anna." He called her.

"Yes sir." Anna responded.

"I know you won't lie and you always say the truth. Tell me the whole story." He said, with sincerity in his eyes. Anna melted and told him everything, starting from the event at the restaurant and the new neighbor stuff.

"I don't see any problem why you two should be fighting. Look Liam." Mr Donald called Liam. He turned slowly to him with anger in his eyes. "I've told you times without number to stay low with your anger issues. I've also promised you a penthouse in one of my hotels, but instead, you decided to be independent on your own and now causing trouble." Mr Donald said.

Liam kept quiet all the time Mr Donald spoke. He didn't even feel any atom of remorse in him. Mr Donald advised and encourage them to let bygones be bygones before dismissing them and afterwards, Anna went home after closing for the day.

After that day, Anna didn't see Liam again. She only heard noises in his apartment sometimes. She decided to keep away from him since he wasn't a guy to argue or have problem with. She respected her space and also wanted him to respect her's.

She was at work one afternoon when her boss called her to his office. "Good day sir." She greeted him as she entered his office.

"Yeah, welcome. I wanted you to give this to my son at home." He said giving her a clothe bag. "It contains some files and also some items his mom wanted to give to him. You can stay at home from there. Don't mind coming back." He said.

"Ok.....thank you sir." She said still double thinking the task he just gave her. She didn't know how Liam will take it on her.

He dismissed her and she went to her office and packed her things before leaving. Anna was about taking a taxi home when the company's driver pulled over in front of her. "The boss said I should take you home." The driver said, opening the passenger door for her.

"Oh, thank you." She said as she got in. The driver already knew her address, so he took her speedily to her apartment. When they got there, he dropped her off.

"Thank you." She said as he drove away. She slowly went up to her apartment, still feeling nervous about visiting Liam. She saw him as a psychopath and an egoist.

She dropped her things in her apartment before going to Liam's door and knocked. She knocked three more times, but there was no response and luckily for her, the door was open a little bit. She quietly went inside and started calling his name, but no response came.

She decided to drop the items his father gave to her on his dining table. As she was about leaving, Liam cane out, with a Calvin Klein boxer. His pronounced abs and muscles were showing very well. His thick laps weren't an exception. Anna was still drooling over him when a light skinned slender girl came out from the bedroom, with only a blanket round her chest.

"Honey, who is she?" The lady asked.

"Erm....... don't know. I'm yet to find out." Liam said, walking majestically to her as he looked at her with irritation.

"Y-Your dad.........said I should give this to you, but you weren't responding when I knocked so I decided to drop it over here." Anna stuttered. She felt a little bit of jealousy as she saw him with another woman. Don't get her wrong because she didn't like him. She didn't know what made her feel like that.

"You've dropped it, now you can leave." Liam commanded, with his eyes showing command.

Anna slowly walked to the door and closed it. She quickly went to her room immediately. She promised herself never to feel that way again whenever she saw him with another woman. She made coffee for herself as she changed into some comfy clothes.

While watching the TV, someone knocked on her door. Anna sighed in tiredness as she strolled over to the door. Opening it, she was shocked. "Yes?" She asked Liam, who stood by her doorstep with his arms folded on his chest. He looked cute in his white vest, showing his bulged muscles.

"Don't know what's wrong with you, but you have to learn how to knock on my door when coming in, cause next time I won't take it lightly with you." He warned her with bloodshot eyes. He walked away immediately.

Without saying a word, Anna closed her door, ignoring what he just said to her.

Liam's POV

Not wanting to talk or speak about my stupid feelings to her, I walked away. I saw sadness in her eyes. I felt like running back to her and pulling her into my arms for a tight embrace. I never knew I would start feeling sorry for someone like her. The fact that I feel sorry for her makes me want to be close to her always.

I shoved those thoughts out of my mind immediately as I crossed the road to go meet my one night stand.

Third person POV

Anna was sitting on the couch in the sitting room when a soft knock hit on the door. She turned around in tiredness. "Who's there?" She asked tiredly.

"It's me sis." She heard Uriel, her younger sister's voice.

Anna quickly jumped up from the couch and went to open the door for her younger sister. "Wow, didn't know you were coming." Anna said as she paved way for Uriel to come in.

"Well.......wanted to surprise you. Actually I'm having a hard time at home with Mom, so I decided to come and stay a while with you.

"Oh, I see." Anna said smiling at her. "Come here I've missed you so much." Anna pulled her into a big hug.

"I've missed you too sis." Uriel confessed.

They broke the hug in no time and Anna went into the kitchen to prepare something for Uriel, while Uriel sat in the sitting room watching the TV. They were both conversing from where they were until there was a knock on the front door. "I will go check who it is." Uriel said as she went to the door and opened it. "Who are you?" Uriel asked the person at the door.

Anna heard she was talking to someone so she dried her hand on a rag and went to the door. Getting there, she stopped Immediately as she saw Liam at the door. "Yes? What do you want?" Anna asked him as she stood in front of Uriel.

"Well.........I came to apologise about how I spoke to you earlier today. I'm..... I-I'm....... sorry." He stuttered, trying hard not to say the word.

Anna in uttermost surprise stood there, wondering what made him come back to say sorry. She wanted to check his temperature. She thought he was drunk or high. "I know you might be surprised but.....I don't even know why I'm doing this." He said as he went to his apartment, locking the door behind him.

"Who is he?" Uriel asked Anna still standing at her back.

"He's my neighbor and also my boss's son." Anna explained.

"Really......but why is he staying in an apartment like this?" Uriel asked her looking surprised.

"Don't know Uriel, that's not my problem now though." Anna said going back to the kitchen to continue with what she was doing. Uriel left the topic and went back to her movie.
