Chapter 1 Online Dating Getting Real

In the heat of summer, a woman in a white chiffon dress got into a luxury hotel in Lakeland City at 10 p.m.

Alice Sharon held her cell phone and stared at a WeChat message from her boyfriend, Ruben Clay, "Alice, 10 p.m. tonight, meet me at Star Hotel Room 8520! You'll be my woman, love you!"

The room number was 8520, and the last three numbers meant 'I love you' in their culture. So romantic...

Their online dating had been going on for three months and getting real!

Before this, she only saw Ruben's pictures on WeChat.

Five minutes later, Alice rang the doorbell with a flushed face.

Before coming out, she drank two glasses of wine to boost her courage, and now even her footsteps were unsteady.

Her blurred vision mistook 8620 for 8520.

She rang the bell for quite a while before the door opened.

A statuesque man around 1.9 meters came into view.

He had a pure-black fine towel around his waist, eight abs like a supermodel, and a perfect figure that could thrill all women.

His features were dashing, sculpted, and flawless!

His obsidian eyes glittered with cold light and his penetrating gaze was awful.

Under his high nose bridge was a pair of attractive thin lips but incongruous with his abstinent and ruthless temperament.

Alice swallowed involuntarily and felt dizzy...

To her surprise, he looked way hotter in person!

She couldn't believe that such a perfect man should be her boyfriend!!!

Wow, she would be off the market this year!

"May... may I come in? I have something to tell you..." Alice blushed up to her ears, her heart fluttering.

Caper Bowman folded his arms before his chest thoughtfully and sized her up.

Who was so bold to send over a woman?

Who was so foolish to send here a short woman? Everyone knew that he was not a fan of shorties.

She looked less than 1.6 meters in height...

Somehow, his interest was piqued. He wanted to figure out the person behind the curtain and hear what this woman would say.

Caper squinted at her, turned around, and went back into the room without saying a word.

The door was left open.

She hesitated at the door...

Ruben looked unhappy? Did he regret meeting her?

Maybe he felt uneasy about their first meeting.

In a rather nervous state, Alice entered the room and gently closed the door.

Around ten seconds later, Caper sat in the luxury living room with a lit cigarette between his slender fingers.

He looked lazy and unbridled, but his eyes were icy. The corner of his mouth curved up with interest, and he stared at her like a black panther.

Alice felt walking on clouds, a sign of her intoxication from the strong wine. She was not quite a drinker, and her mind became foggy...

The dashing man on the sofa attracted her like a shiner.

To disguise her fluster, she looked around randomly and hesitated if she should stay there for the night.

The torn expression on her face fueled Caper's suspicion. This woman was weird.

"You have one minute." Caper took a drag on his cigarette. Impatience was in his eyes.

This man spoke like a king, and Alice panicked, "Ruben, how about we call it off tonight? Next time we..."

She stopped halfway through her rejection.

Caper frowned slightly...

"Ruben, we just met, and I know that you might be disappointed. As I said, I'm not good-looking, and the photos I've sent you are not processed..." Alice was afraid of letting him down.

Turned out this woman was crazy and full of nonsense.

"Stop wasting my time and tell me who sent you here." Caper said coldly with a gloomy face.

Chapter 2 A Mistake

"Huh?" Alice was shocked and confused.

Met with her silence, Caper quickly put out the cigarette. His eyes turned fierce, "Tell me now!"

No man had ever yelled at her like this before!

Should her nominal boyfriend show her no respect at their first meeting?

Her mood was totally ruined, and she sulked under the effect of the alcohol, "Ruben, what is wrong with you? You're unhappy to see me and talk nonsense! I don't get it!"

"Since you don't want me here, I should take my leave!"

She took out two movie tickets from her handbag, casually threw them on the tea table, and sulked, "And we won't watch the film tomorrow!"

She ignored his gloomy face and tottered to leave.

When her hand just reached the door knob, Caper strode up, grabbed her around the middle, and scooped her to the bedroom...

He chewed over her words. If he were not wrong, this crazy woman mistook him for another man.

When his eyes landed on the two obtrusive tickets on the table, his face turned black.

Who the hell was playing games with him?

Whichever the case was, he would not let this woman off!

"Ruben! What are you doing? Put me down!"

"Aren't you here for me? Why are you leaving then?" Caper scorned.

"I regret it! I shouldn't have come tonight!" Alice struggled.

"Humph, too late."

The man flung her on the bed, bore down on her, and spat, "Woman, I don't care who put you up to this. You won't get away tonight."

"It's childish of you to play hard-to-get."

"Ruben! What are you talking about? I don't get it... let go of me..."

Caper fumed to hear that man's name again!

Who the hell was Ruben?

"Rub..."

Her voice was muffled by his kiss...

Two minutes later, her throat was strained, but her cry for mercy couldn't touch the ruthless animal...

It was a restless night, and Alice passed out from exhaustion.

...

At 8 a.m. the next day, Alice woke up with a sore body.

She looked at the man beside her and found him horrible!

She fled as fast as she could.

In the taxi that took her back home, she broke into tears. To her greatest surprise, her three-month date should be so different offline!

She recalled what happened last night and realized rape...

Originally, she planned to offer him her chastity, but things went otherwise.

"My fault to drink wine! My fault! My fault..." Alice hammered her head with frustration.

Shocked by the scene, the cab driver asked hurriedly, "Ma'am, what's wrong? Are you all right?"

"I'm okay..." Alice stopped beating herself lest the driver took her for a crazy person.

Still emotional, she took out her phone and intended to break up with him through a text message!

This man was horrible!

Then she found that her phone was out of juice.

She sighed, wiped her tears, and planned to settle it later in her apartment.

...

An hour later, Caper woke up in the bedroom of the hotel.

He found the woman gone and pulled a long face.

He planned to interrogate her in the morning since she was drunk and delirious last night.

He immediately got out of bed and speed-dialed a number.

After the call was answered, he demanded in a cold voice, "Dexter, go investigate the woman who came to my room last night. I need all her information."

Chapter 3 Probably Not Him

"Yes, sir!" The person on the other end of the phone sounded scared. Should a woman sneak into the room of his boss?

Back at her apartment, Alice had a shower and hit the sack.

At 3 p.m., she was still asleep. That horrible man drained every pit of her energy last night!

In her drowsiness, she heard a knock on the door. It became clearer as she was waking up.

Who the hell was knocking on her door? She hadn't shopped anything online recently, so it shouldn't be the delivery man.

In her cartoon pajamas, she went over, peeked through the cat eye, and felt safe to open the door. Then her bosom friend Molly Levine came in.

Molly pulled her to the sofa, sat down, and asked excitedly, "Alice, tell me about it, how did things go last night?"

"Molly, you rush here just for this?" Alice said languidly.

"Alice, confess! Did you sleep with Ruben last night?" Molly asked with an impish smile.

Alice knew that she couldn't avoid it.

"Mm, sort of." She answered helplessly.

"Really? Wow, Alice, you're no longer the odd one in our dorm!" Molly said in a relieved tone.

"Only you girls take it so ritualistically... It could be done after marriage..." Alice said.

"No! It's unreliable if you do it upon marriage. What if you're not meant for each other? What should you do? Divorce?" Molly shook her head.

"Thankfully, you took my advice last night! How about it? Is Ruben hotter in person?"

But Alice looked pale and grieved.

"What's wrong? Ruben processed his photos and looks average?" Molly pressed.

Alice recalled that flawless face from last night, but his eyes were terrifying. Overall, the man looked quite different from her impression in the past three months.

He was like a different person!

"Alice, what's wrong? Last night, Ruben and you..."

"Molly, I'm very tired. Can we talk about it later?" Alice pleaded.

"Poor thing, I'm not forcing you! Never mind..." Molly smiled.

"I'm going back to school! See you tomorrow!"

"Okay, I'll see you at school tomorrow." Alice saw her off.

This apartment was rented by her and a friend. Now Alice was an undergraduate of a film academy and worked part-time as an assistant in a celebrity agency.

Five minutes later, she quickly washed up, walked into the bedroom, and turned on her cell phone that had been charged up.

Ten WeChat messages from Ruben immediately came in.

He asked her why she stood him up and complained that he waited for her all night.

What happened last night was agonizing. Her chastity was taken by force.

And he had the nerve to say that he waited for her all night?

In her anger, Alice ignored the messages. The solution hadn't come to mind yet.

Since her roommate, Freya Hendrix, would come back from her hometown today, she planned to buy some ingredients from the community supermarket and cook dinner.

While Alice was absently wandering in the supermarket, a man was reading her profile.

At that moment, Caper was sitting in his office on the top floor of a building erected in the most prosperous financial and commercial district. With a cold face, he slid the screen with his fingertip. When the cigarette between the fingers of his left hand burned out, he got up and walked to the floor-to-ceiling window.

It was already dark, and the street lamps illuminated the commercial district.

Alice, a freshman of Flying Dream Academy, had divorced parents, a half-sister, and a half-brother...

Caper skimmed through the information and turned back to Dexter, "Found the person behind the curtain?"
