I arrived at Saints Bar earlier than usual, the morningsunlight streaming through the windows. The familiar scent of stale beer and worn leather enveloped me as I made my way to the arena, our nickname for the stripper hall.
A figure sat in the shadows, face obscured. "Hey Joe, you're here early. Same thoughts, huh?" I said, dropping my bag onto the couch.
Silence.
"Joe?" I stepped closer, my voice laced with concern.
I tapped his shoulder, and his head lolled off, blood pooling on the floor. My scream echoed through the empty hall.
I grabbed my bag and sprinted out, fear propelling me. My phone shook in my trembling hands as I dialed Clara.
"Clara...can you hear me?" I stammered.
"Hey, what's wrong? You sound like you're about to die!" Clara's voice was calm, reassuring.
"I'm about to die. Come pick me up. Dark wolves killed Joe!" I blurted.
Clara's voice dropped to a whisper. "What? Oh my goodness, I'm coming right away. I'm close by."
"Please hurry!"
"Meet me at Pluemi Workshop in 15." Clara instructed.
I rushed to the workshop, Clara's car screeching to a halt beside me. We sped away, leaving Saints Town behind.
As we drove, the landscape shifted from urban to rural.
"Clara, where are we headed?" I asked, confusion etched on my face.
Clara smirked. "Isn't it obvious? We're leaving Saints Town for another city...or country."
"My family's here. Dark wolves will hurt them!" Fear and anger wrestled within me.
Clara's expression hardened. "Eve, your family wants you dead. They sold you to Dark wolves. Are you crazy?"
I took a deep breath, acknowledging the painful truth.
"Look, if you want to stay with sinners and die, feel free. I won't stop you." Clara said, her gaze piercing.
I squared my shoulders. "You're heartless, Clara. Let's enjoy life in a new place."
Clara grinned. "That's the spirit! Let's go."
As we approached Dams, Clara's cousin Didi greeted us at the hotel with food and tickets.
"Wait, what about international passports?" I asked.
Didi chuckled. "Gosh, you ask too many questions. My boyfriend works at the embassy. He took care of it."
Clara's eyes narrowed. "You didn't tell me that. Who helped Eve?"
I shrugged. "I don't know."
Clara's anger flared. "You better remember! I'll kill that guy."
Didi intervened, opening a bottle of alcohol. "Chill, Clara."
Later, as night descended, Didi emerged from the bathroom, towel wrapped around her body.
"Your phone's been ringing nonstop" I teased.
Didi answered, her expression tense.
"Your boyfriend's coming here?" Clara asked.
"Yeah, with Danjosh." Didi replied.
Clara's face darkened. "That butt head."
Didi's eyes widened. "You know him?"
Clara's voice dropped to a whisper. "Danjosh leads Dark wolves. Who do you think we've been running from him?. "
I placed a calming hand on Clara's arm. "Let's not jump to conclusions."
Clara shot up, car keys in hand. "We're leaving."
Didi protested, "But Clara, it's late. Besides it might not be him, just chill"
"Easy for you to say, you're not the one being chased, huh"
"Clara, I might not be affected but indirectly I am. You're my cousin."
Clara's glare cut through the air as she spat like a venom. "Fuck that, Didi. You screwed us. You sold us to the devil."
Didi's face reddened. "I won't take that, Clara. I'm older than you."
The argument escalated until Didi peered out the window, fear etched on her face.
"What do we do? They're here."
Clara's response was instant. "RUN!!!
Eve
We ran out of the hotel room, leaving our belongings behind. Didi had the tickets and passports, so we didn't need to worry about that. We hailed a taxi and headed to the airport, our minds raced with worst-case scenarios.
"What if they find us?" I asked Clara, my voice shaking.
"We'll be long gone before they even think of looking for us at the airport," she replied, trying to sound calmer than she looked.
We boarded the plane to Newsvalliee, our minds filled with thoughts of Danjosh and the Dark Wolves. We knew we had to get as far away from them as possible.
As the plane took off, we breathed a sigh of relief. We were finally safe... or so we thought.
"Fasten your seatbelts, ladies," the pilot announced over the intercom. "We're experiencing some turbulence ahead."
The plane hit an air pocket, and we were thrown out of our seats. I screamed as the plane plummeted towards the ground.
"This is it," I thought. "We're going to die."
But then, the plane leveled out, and we were safe again. We looked at each other, our faces pale with fear.
"That was close," Clara said, her voice barely audible.
We didn't speak for the rest of the flight, our minds still reeling from the close call. We knew we had to stay vigilant, as Danjosh and the Dark Wolves could be lurking around any corner, waiting to strike.
Finally, we landed in Newsvalliee, our hearts still racing from the turbulent flight. We made our way to the baggage claim area, our eyes scanning the crowd for any sign of danger.
And then, we saw him. Danjosh. Standing in front of us, a smirk on his face.
"Welcome to Newsvalliee, Eve," he said, his voice dripping with malice. "You'll never leave this place alive."
I felt a cold dread creeping up my vein as Danjosh pulled out a gun and pointed it at us. Clara tried to push me behind her, but I was frozen in place.
Suddenly, Didi's boyfriend appeared out of nowhere and pushed Danjosh aside. "You're not going to hurt them," he growled.
But in the chaos, he accidentally shot Didi instead. She fell to the ground, blood pouring from her side.
"Didi!" Clara screamed, rushing to her side.
I was in shock, unable to move or speak. Danjosh took advantage of the distraction and grabbed me, pulling me towards him.
"You're coming with me, Eve." he snarled.
But Clara was not having it. She fought Danjosh off, punching and kicking him until he released me.
We ran to Didi's side, tears streaming down our faces. "We have to get her to a hospital," Clara said, her voice shaking.
We managed to flag down a taxi and rushed Didi to the nearest hospital. The doctors said she had lost a lot of blood, but they were able to save her.
As we waited in the hospital room, Clara turned to me and said, "We can't trust anyone. We have to get out of here before Danjosh finds us again."
I nodded, still in shock from the events of the day. We made our escape from the hospital, determined to find a way to take down Danjosh and the Dark Wolves once and for all.
But little did we knew, our troubles were only just beginning...
We managed to evade Danjosh and the Dark Wolves for a while, but our luck ran out. We were hiding in an abandoned building, trying to catch our breath, when Didi's condition took a turn for the worse.
Didi's voice barely whispered, "I don't think I'm going to make it."
Clara and I exchanged desperate glances. I grasped Didi's hand, feeling her warmth slipping away. ''No, Didi, don't say that," I pleaded. Clara's tears fell onto Didi's face as we both begged her to stay with us.
But it was too late. Didi's eyes fluttered closed, and her chest stopped rising. The silence was deafening. Clara's wail echoed through the abandoned building, while I felt numb, unable to process the loss.
We were heartbroken, but we knew we couldn't stay there. We had to keep moving. We left the building, trying to find a way out of the city.
But Danjosh was waiting for us. He ambushed us in an alleyway, his gun drawn.
"You're not going anywhere, Eve," he sneered.
Clara tried to protect me, but Danjosh was too strong. He shot her in the chest, and she fell to the ground, her eyes fixed on mine.
"Eve..." she whispered, her voice fading away.
I screamed, trying to reach her, but Danjosh dragged me away. I struggled and kicked, but he was too powerful.
Just when all hope seemed lost, I managed to break free and run. I didn't stop until I was blocks away, hidden in a crowded market.
But I knew I had lost Clara, my dear friend, my protector. I collapsed to the ground, consumed by grief and guilt. I had escaped, but at what cost?
As I looked back, I saw Danjosh standing over Clara's lifeless body, a smirk on his face. I knew then that I would never forgive myself for leaving her behind. I had vowed to make Danjosh pay for what he had done, no matter what it took.
EVE
Six months had passed since I arrived in Manscheron, and I had tried to start anew. I found a job at a strip club, thinking it would be a fresh start. But the memories of Clara and Didi lingered, and the trauma of my past refused to fade.
Every night, I'd take the stage, trying to lose myself in the music and the crowd. But my heart wasn't in it. I felt empty, hollow, like I was just going through the motions.
The other dancers noticed my struggles and tried to be supportive, but I pushed them away. I didn't want to burden them with my problems.
One night, after a particularly rough show, I broke down in tears in the dressing room. That's when I met her - a dancer named Lily, she has been working at the club for 2 years . She had a kind face and a listening ear, and for the first time in months, I felt like I could open up.
"Hey, I'm here for you," she said, handing me a tissue. "You don't have to go through this alone."
And for the first time in a long time, I felt a glimmer of hope. Maybe, just maybe, I could find a way to heal and move on. Maybe Lily could help me find my way again.
I dragged myself up the stairs, my feet heavy with exhaustion. The VIP room was dimly lit, the air thick with anticipation. I forced a smile onto my face, trying to shake off the weariness.
The night passed in a blur of laughter and music, the VIPs showering me with attention and tips. I played the part, but my heart wasn't in it.
Finally, I made it back to my apartment, collapsing onto the couch. I was too tired to even change out of my costume.
Just as I was drifting off to sleep, I heard a knock at the door. It was Lily, carrying a bag of food and a bright smile.
"Hey, girl! I brought dinner. I figured you'd be too tired to cook," she said, setting the bag down on the counter.
We chatted as we ate, Lily filling me in on the latest gossip from the club. Then, her eyes sparkled with excitement.
"I have a huge crush on one of the vip's friend."
I raised an eyebrow, intrigued despite myself. "Tell me more."
Lily launched into a description of the mystery man, her words painting a picture of a charming, handsome, and wealthy stranger. I listened, a small part of me wondering if maybe, just maybe, this was the distraction I needed to move on from my past.
As Lily continued to gush about her crush, her phone buzzed with a text. She gasped, her eyes scanning the message.
"Oh my god, Eve! He's going to be at the club next week! We have to be there!"
My heart skipped a beat as Lily's excitement became contagious. Maybe this was the distraction I needed, a chance to forget my troubles and lose myself in the music and the crowd.
"Next week?" I repeated, trying to sound casual despite my growing curiosity.
Lily nodded, her eyes sparkling with anticipation. "Yeah, he's going to be in town for a few days, and he's promised to come to the club. I can't miss it, Eve! I have to see him!"
I smiled, trying to hide my own interest. "Well, I'm sure you'll make a great impression," I said, trying to sound supportive.
But as we parted ways and I headed home, I couldn't shake off the feeling that my life was about to change in ways I couldn't imagine. Little did I know, next week would bring more than just a chance encounter...

ALEX
"...till next time, stay tuned, I remain your favorite news anchor, Vivian Nuels."
Vivian sat poised and confident in the news studio, her eyes fixed on the camera as she delivered the evening's final sign-off. Her voice was clear and strong, her delivery flawless. She was a true professional, and it showed.
"My pretty girlfriend."
As the broadcast came to a close, Vivian let out a sigh of relief and smiled, feeling a sense of pride and accomplishment. She had worked hard to get to this moment, and it had paid off.
Backstage, I was waiting with a bouquet of flowers and a beaming smile. "Viv, you were fantastic!" he exclaimed, wrapping her in a warm embrace. "I'm so proud of you!"
She blushed, feeling a surge of happiness. "Thanks, Alex," she said, her voice filled with gratitude. "That means so much coming from you."
"I mean it," I said, my eyes shining with admiration. "You're an amazing journalist, and an even more amazing person. I'm so lucky to have you in my life."
Her heart swelled with love and appreciation. "I'm lucky to have you too," she said, hugging me tightly.
As we celebrated, I said. "I organized an after-party at the rooftop bar to celebrate. All your colleagues will be there"
Her eyes sparkled with excitement. "That sounds amazing!" she said, her mind already racing with the fun they would have.
At the rooftop bar.
The party was in full swing. Vivian colleagues were all there, congratulating her and praising her performance.
I had arranged for a special cake and champagne, and the music was playing softly in the background.
As we celebrated, Vivian couldn't help but feel grateful for my support and love.
I had always been her rock, encouraging her and believing in her, even when she doubted herself.
"Thanks for this, Alex," she said, her voice filled with emotion. "This means so much to me."
I smiled, my eyes shining with love. "Anything for you, Vivian," I said, my voice filled with devotion. "You deserve it all."
As we gazed into each other's eyes, the music and laughter and cheers of their friends faded into the background.
I leaned in, and Vivian met mine halfway, our lips meeting in a sweet, tender kiss.
The room erupted in cheers and applause, their friends teasing them with cries of "Aww, sweetest couple! Get married soon!"
Vivian and I laughed, blushing, but their eyes never left each other's.

EVE POV
"In just a few hours, they'll be here," Lily said, her eyes shining with excitement. "The VIPs are arriving today, and I'm going to make sure I make a good impression."
"I thought you were crushing on the main VIP," I said, raising an eyebrow.
Lily laughed. "No, it's his friend I'm interested in. He's the manager, and I want to get into the news industry. I'll do anything to make it happen."
I smiled, intrigued. "Well, I could use some help too. I'm trying to get my foot in the door in the news industry as well."
Lily's eyes lit up. "Really? We could help each other out! I'll introduce you to my crush, and maybe he can give us some tips or connections to get us started."
I nodded, feeling a sense of gratitude towards Lily. "Thanks, Lily. I owe you one."
As we chatted, I couldn't help but feel a sense of anticipation. In just a few hours, our lives were about to change in ways we never could have imagined. The manager's connections could be the key to unlocking our dreams in the news industry.
FEW HOURS LATER.
The vips arrived and I was shy to go upstairs. Lily came to me .
Lily smiled mischievously. "Leave that to me. I'll make sure to introduce you to the VIP, and from there, he'll link us to his friends in the industry."
As we made our way to the event, my heart raced with excitement. I had no idea what to expect, but I was ready to take on whatever opportunities came our way.
When we arrived, Lily grabbed my hand and pulled me through the crowd. "Come on, let's go find him," she said, her eyes scanning the room.
Finally, we reached a tall, handsome man with a charming smile. "Hey, Max," Lily said, her voice flirtatious. "I want you to meet my friend."
Max turned to me, his eyes sparkling with interest. "Nice to meet you," he said, extending his hand.
I shook it, feeling a sense of confidence wash over me. This was it – our ticket into the industry.
The show started.
A young guy came in and went to meet max.
I think that's Lily's crush.
"Man,you're here!" Max said happily
"you forced me to come,I had no choice" he said sharply.
Max chuckled "whatever,just have fun"
Max called for lily and I.
He smiled warmly as he introduced us to Alex, a well-known news anchor. "Alex, this is Lily and her friend," he said, his eyes gleaming with friendliness.
Alex nodded, his eyes scanning me with interest. "Great to meet you both," he said, his voice deep and commanding.
Max turned to Lily, his eyes sparkling with mischief. "Hey, Lily, want to grab a drink with me?"
Lily's face lit up with excitement, but then her expression darkened. "I thought I'd be spending time with Alex tonight," she whispered to max, her voice tinged with anger.
Max's smile faltered, and he looked taken aback. " sorry but looks like Alex is interested in your friend"
" Alex ,I'll catch up later," he said, his eyes darting to Alex and then back to Lily.
But Lily was already storming off, her heels clicking angrily on the floor. Max hesitated, then followed after her, leaving Alex and me alone.
"Well, that was awkward," Alex said, his eyes crinkling at the corners.
I smiled and said "Want to get out of here and grab a drink somewhere else?"
He nodded, and we left the event together, leaving the drama behind us.
As we walked out of the event, Alex turned to me and said, "Well, that was certainly dramatic. But I'm glad we got out of there before things got too intense."
I laughed and nodded in agreement. "Definitely. I think Lily was really looking forward to spending time with you tonight."
Alex chuckled. "I think you're right. But I have to say, I'm much more interested in getting to know you better."
I felt a flutter in my chest at his words, and I smiled up at him. "I'd like that," I said, my voice barely above a whisper.
As we walked to the bar, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and possibility. Who knew that a chance encounter at an event would lead to a new connection? And who knew what the night might hold?
As we sipped our drinks, I mentioned my interest in becoming a news anchor. Alex's eyes lit up with enthusiasm. "That's great! I'd be happy to help you out. Give me a call tomorrow and we'll set up a time to chat more about it."
I pulled out my phone and saved his number, feeling a sense of excitement and gratitude. "Thanks so much, Alex. I really appreciate it."
He smiled and clapped me on the back. "No problem, happy to help. And who knows, maybe one day you'll be anchoring the news alongside me."
I laughed and we chatted for a while longer before parting ways. As I walked home, I felt a sense of hope and possibility. Maybe, just maybe, my dream of becoming a news anchor was finally within reach.
