Chapter 1 One

Sebastian held Eva tightly, his eyes filled with both worry and excitement. He had been waiting for this moment, eagerly anticipating the arrival of their first child. But seeing Eva in such pain and distress broke his heart, and he wished he could take away her suffering. "You're doing amazing, Eva," he whispered, his voice filled with love and support. "Just breathe through the pain; focus on your breathing. Our baby is almost here." Eva nodded, her grip on Sebastian's neck tightening with each agonising contraction.

She felt mixed emotions - fear, anticipation, and overwhelming love for the little life growing inside her. She knew every bit of pain was worth it, but amid labour, it was hard to remember. Sebastian tried his best to soothe her, offering encouragement and wiping away her sweat. He felt a sense of awe and wonder, witnessing the strength and resilience of the woman he loved. Eva's determination radiated through her pain, enflaming his admiration and love for her even more. As the contractions intensified, Eva's cries grew louder, echoing through the room. Sebastian held her, providing a steady presence amidst the chaos. He spoke softly, reminding her of her inner strength and guiding her through each wave of pain. With every passing minute, the sound of their baby's heartbeat filled the room, soothing both Eva and Sebastian's nerves. It reminded them of the beautiful life they had created together and the miracle that was about to unfold. Finally, after what felt like an eternity, Eva's body went still. The room held a breath of anticipation as she took a moment to gather her strength. Then, with one final push, the cries of a newborn filled the air. Sebastian's eyes filled with tears of joy as he looked down at the tiny, wrinkled being in Eva's arms. Their baby, their precious gift. Eva's pain and exhaustion were instantly forgotten, replaced by overwhelming love and wonder. As they marvelled at their tiny miracle, Eva nestled their baby against her chest, feeling an immediate bond forming between them. Sebastian leaned in, placing a gentle kiss on both Eva's forehead and their baby's head. "We did it," he whispered, his voice filled with pride and awe. "We brought new life into this world. Our family is complete." Eva smiled through her tears, her exhaustion fading away in the presence of their little bundle of joy. She nodded, her heart overflowing with love and gratitude. "Yes," she whispered, her voice filled with tenderness. "Our family. Together, we can face anything." As they held each other and their newborn child, Eva and Sebastian knew that their love and strength would support them through any challenge in both the human and werewolf worlds they inhabited. They were ready to embark on this new chapter as parents, nurturing and protecting their precious gift with an unyielding devotion. Eva and Sebastian exchanged worried glances as the pack alarm echoed throughout their home. Their hearts raced with anxiety, knowing that something serious must be happening to disrupt the peacefulness of their pack. They could feel the air in the room grow heavy with tension as they listened intently to the urgent calls coming through the speaker. Sebastian quickly handed their newborn baby to Eva, ensuring their safety before focusing on the alarm. As Beta of their pack, he was responsible for addressing any threats or emergencies that arose. "Stay here with our baby," Sebastian said firmly, his voice filled with love and determination. "I'll go check on what's happening." Eva nodded her instincts as a protective mother kicking in. She cradled their child close to her chest, whispering soothing words to comfort them. Sebastian rushed out of the room, leaving Eva and their little one in the nursery. Fear coursed through his veins, but training and duty drove him forward. He made his way to the pack's central meeting area, where the rest of the pack members gathered, their faces etched with concern. "What's going on? Where is Alpha?" Sebastian demanded, his authoritative voice cutting through the chatter. One of the older pack members approached him, his expression grave. "There's been an attack on our borders," he said, his voice heavy with worry. "A rival pack is trying to invade our territory. Alpha is already out there." "You know what to do," Sebastian said. "Yes, of course." He bowed and quickly sprung to action to help gather all the vulnerable members and get them to the main safe house. Sebastian's heart clenched. He knew how important it was to protect their pack and their family. He quickly rallied the remaining warrior pack members, ensuring they prepared to defend their homeland. The safety of his mate and their newborn child fueled his determination. He knew he had to ensure they would not be found if the worst did become of the pack. In the nursery, Eva held their baby close, her instincts to shield and protect overpowering her worry for Sebastian. She murmured soothing lullabies, hoping to create a calm atmosphere despite the chaos outside their door. The pack's howls and battle cries grew louder, the intensity of the confrontation reverberating through the walls. Eva's heart ached with worry for Sebastian and their pack, but she refused to let fear consume her. She knew that Sebastian, their strong and capable Alpha, would do everything he could to protect them. "Eva, we need to get you out of here." He hurriedly picked her up as she cradled their newborn to her chest. She had no time to grab anything as Sebastian rushed out of the nursery and down the suddenly silent and empty corridors. "Eddie and Millie, get up now. Let's go. You know the drill. Let's go." Sebastian ordered as the twins rubbed their tired eyes and looked around in a confused daze. They did as they were told and followed Sebastian out into the corridors and down a long staircase that seemed to go on forever. "Where are we going?" Eva yelled as Sebastian finally came to the basement of the pack. "Eva, this place is the safest in our pack quarters. The underground tunnels lead out to safety. If, for any reason, I'm not back. Please go to the end of the tunnel, find the Old Ford escort, and get in and drive. Drive and never look back. There is plenty of money for a new life in the human town. Just promise me that you will do what I'm telling you?" He said. Eva could only nod through tears as she hugged Sebastian tightly and wished she did not have to let go of him. "The twins and our baby are all that matters." He whispered as he kissed her one last time and slammed the steel metal door behind him. Eva held her baby and cried a hundred tears. Millie and Eddie sat on the floor silently, afraid to speak in fear of what would become of their pack.

Chapter 2 Two

Eva gathered Millie and Eddie close, her arms encircling them in a protective embrace. The fear in their eyes tugged at her heart, and she knew that it was her responsibility to reassure them, to bring them a sense of comfort amidst the chaos surrounding them. "It's going to be okay," Eva whispered, her voice soft yet firm. "We're going to get through this together, I promise." She looked into their wide eyes, trying to convey strength and love through her gaze. "We've come this far, and we won't give up now." Her grip tightened around them, her touch conveying a sense of safety.

Millie and Eddie clung to her, seeking solace in her arms. Eva turned her attention to her precious newborn, cradling the baby close to her chest. She marveled at the innocence and fragility, vowing silently to protect this little life with everything she had. "You are all so brave," Eva murmured, her voice filled with warmth. "I know it's scary, but we're a family. We're strong together, and we'll keep each other safe." She pressed a gentle kiss on each of their foreheads before meeting their eyes once more. "I love you, and I'll do whatever it takes to keep you protected." Her words seemed to ease their anxiety, if only a fraction. Millie and Eddie nodded, their trust in their older sister shining through their eyes. They held onto each other tightly, finding strength in their bond as siblings. Eva's heart swelled with love for them, and she knew that they would endure any hardship as long as they were together. As they continued their journey, Eva kept her hold on Millie and Eddie, never in her commitment to their safety. With her newborn nestled against her chest, Eva whispered words of reassurance, knowing that love and a sense of belonging would be their guiding light. Eva's mind replayed Sebastian's instructions. She remembered his voice, firm yet filled with love and concern, urging her to find the way out and to the car if he didn't return. It was their emergency plan, their lifeline in case the worst became of their pack. The tunnels were eerily quiet except for the sound of their breathing. The walls, rough and cold to the touch, seemed to hold their secrets. Eva's senses heightened, every little noise causing her to stop abruptly. She wanted to ensure they remained undetected and safe from any potential threats. Millie and Eddie walked silently, their wide eyes reflecting both fear and trust in their older sister. Eva drew strength from their innocent smiles, finding solace in that brief respite from the harsh reality surrounding them. Hours turned into what felt like days as they continued their trek through the labyrinthine tunnels. Eva's legs grew tired, her muscles aching with each step, but she never stopped. Their safety was her priority, and she would go to any length to protect her newborn and her siblings. Her thoughts were interrupted by a distant howl - a chilling, haunting sound that sent shivers down her spine. It was a sound Eva knew all too well. The hunters were closing in on them. They couldn't afford to waste even a second. "Stay close, Millie, Eddie," Eva whispered, her voice barely loud enough to be heard over the echoing sound of their footsteps. She urged them to quicken their pace, leading them through passages that seemed to twist and turn in impossible ways. As they walked past crumbling walls of stone and fragile wooden beams, the darkness played tricks on their eyes. Shadows danced, taking on menacing forms that left Eva's heart with fear. But she pushed her fear aside, focusing all her energy on protecting her family. Suddenly, a loud crash echoed through the tunnels, followed by footsteps approaching rapidly. Eva's heart leapt into her throat as she urged her siblings to run. Panic coursed through her veins, her thoughts consumed by the urgency to keep Millie, Eddie, and their newborn baby safe. They stumbled around sharp corners, their feet slipping on damp stones, as they desperately searched for an exit. Eva's mind replayed Sebastian's voice, guiding her through the intricate maze. "There's a hidden passageway," he had told her. "Look for a carved wolf symbol above a small alcove. That's the way out." Minutes stretched into eternity as they frantically scanned the walls for any sign of the wolf symbol. The noises of their pursuers grew closer, their dark intentions evident in the sounds of their heavy boots. And then, just as Eva's hope began to fade, she spotted a faded carving of a wolf's head etched above a small alcove. She could hardly believe her luck as she ushered Millie and Eddie into the hidden escape route. The children gazed at her in awe, their eyes reflecting trust mixed with a touch of fear. "It's ok. We are going to be ok." Eva assured them both. Eva briefly allowed herself a moment of relief, knowing they were one step closer to safety. But she couldn't let her guard down just yet. They had to reach the car and drive away to a place where they could regroup with the pack. Eva pressed on. The hidden passage led them through narrow tunnels, their walls closing in on them as they navigated the twists and turns. The children grew tired, their steps slower, but Eva refused to let exhaustion overtake them. They had come too far to give up now. Finally, after what felt like an eternity, Eva caught sight of the dim light ahead. The end was near. The sound of their pursuers had faded into the distance, but Eva knew they couldn't afford to be careless. She led the children through the final stretch, emerging into the open air. They blinked in the brightness of the outside world, their eyes adapting to the sudden change. Eva could hardly believe they had made it. She looked at Millie and Eddie, a mix of relief and love flooding her heart. But as she caught her breath, Eva's thoughts returned to Sebastian and the pack. She knew that their journey was far from over. Now, more than ever, it was crucial that they find safety and gather their strength to face the challenges ahead. Eva's grip tightened on her siblings' hands as they made their way to the hidden car. It was time to seek refuge. They were a family, and together, they would endure whatever came their way.

Chapter 3 Three

Eva carefully cradled her newborn in her arms as she approached the car. The weight of responsibility settled heavily on her young shoulders, but she knew she had to remain strong for her family. Millie and Eddie, her twin siblings, trailed behind her, their tiny hands intertwined with fear etched across their faces. "Come, let's hurry now." Eva whispered nervously as they hurried along. The air was cool and crisp as they entered the dimly lit street. The moon loomed high above, casting an ethereal glow over the surrounding houses.

Eva's heart raced with a mixture of anxiety and determination. They had to leave to escape the danger that lurked behind their home. She had no idea if they were being followed or watched. She knew that she had to act quickly. As they reached the car, Eva gently placed the newborn in the car seat's safety. She exchanged a worried glance with Millie and Eddie, their eyes reflecting the same fear that gnawed at her own heart. They were just children, innocent and unprepared for the threats that awaited them. She knew leaving was their only choice if they were going to have any chance at surviving. "Oh, Eva. Are we going to be ok? Are they coming after us like they did our pack? Please don't let them hurt us?" Eddie burst out crying, and Eva felt as if she had been stabbed in the heart. Poor Eddie and Millie had just started to come to terms with losing their mother, but now they had no idea if their father was still alive, let alone anyone else from the pack. But they looked up to their big sister, and they knew that they would be safe with her. They adored her and she adored them. Millie reached out to comfort her twin brother, and he nodded at her reassurance. Taking a deep breath, Eva summoned all her courage and offered a reassuring smile to her siblings. "It's going to be okay," she said, trembling slightly. "We're going to get through this together." Millie clutched onto her brother's hand, tears welling in her eyes. "I'm scared, Eva," she whispered. "Please, let us be ok. I miss Daddy." Eva knelt, her voice filled with determination. "I know, Millie, but we have to be brave. We'll find a safe place. I promise." Eddie nodded, his bottom lip quivering. The weight of the circumstances visibly weighed on such young souls. Eva fought back her tears, the responsibility of protecting them driving her forward. With trembling hands, Eva opened the car doors, and they climbed inside. She nestled into the driver's seat, her gaze lingering on the familiar surroundings they were about to leave behind. She could hear the distant rustle of leaves in the wind, a stark reminder of how quickly their lives had changed. The trees, standing tall and proud, seemed to whisper words of strength and resilience. As Eva started the car's engine, the loud purr filled the silence, triggering a sense of urgency within her. They had to leave. The longer they delayed, the closer danger loomed. Eddie clutched onto his sister's arm, his tiny fingers digging into her skin. Millie leaned over, soft sobs spilling from her small frame. They were terrified, but Eva had no choice but to push forward. "Eddie, Millie, come on, be brave for me now. We have to be strong. It's just the four it is against the world now." Eva told them as she gazed at them in the rearview mirror. As she peeled out of the forest and onto the main road, the streetlights faded into a blur as they sped away. The place, once a haven of warmth and familiarity, now seemed ominous and suffocating. She could feel the weight of the darkness closing in around them, threatening to swallow them whole. As they left the home and all her memories behind, the landscape transformed into a sea of towering trees. The air grew cooler, and birds chirping filled the silence. Eva's grip on the steering wheel tightened, her knuckles growing pale. The wilderness before them was beautiful and foreboding, its secrets hidden within the depths of each uncharted path. The chirping of birds starkly contrasted with the tension in the air. They were free, soaring through the open skies, oblivious to the dangers that plagued their kind. Millie and Eddie stared out the windows, their eyes widening at the sight of nature's beauty juxtaposed with their uncertainty. Eva's heart ached for her siblings, realising just how much their childhood had been stolen from them. However, there was no time for self-pity. She had to be their beacon of strength, their guardian in this chaotic world. As they drove through the winding roads, Eva's thoughts raced with the weight of their situation. They were entering human territory, a realm of safety but full of potential dangers. No longer could they rely solely on the protection of their supernatural pack; now, they had to navigate the complex world of humans, blending in and escaping notice. With every mile that they drove, the desperation to keep her family safe grew stronger within Eva. She had to stay strong for Millie and Eddie to assure them they would endure this ordeal. They deserved a chance at an everyday life, one that wasn't marred by shadows and fear. Eva's grip on the steering wheel tightened even more as they drove deeper into unknown territories. She stole a glance at her siblings. Fear marred their innocent faces, but beneath it, she saw resilience and determination. They hadn't chosen this path, but they were walking it together, bound by love and a determination to protect one another. Eva wiped away a stray tear, refusing to let her emotions consume her. She had to remain strong, not only for herself but for Millie, Eddie, and her newborn baby, who was sleeping peacefully, oblivious to everything going on. Suddenly, Eva slammed on the brakes and let out an almighty scream as something ran out before her.
