Eternal Night of Seduction: From Abandoned Mistress To Mafia Queen

Author: : rabbit
Genre: Mafia
Selena Menezwa had been with Caius Capone, the illegitimate son of the mafia family, for ten years. Yet, on the day he took power, the family called someone else the "Godmother". Caius, his hands still stained with blood and gripping a gun, held Charlotte Wodehurst, a pure-looking beauty in his arms. "Selena, don't blame me. You never had a proper education, and you're too unrestrained. You're not fit to be the Godmother. Charlotte is different. She was born into nobility and is the second violinist in the orchestra. You can stick around without a ring, but she can't." Selena didn't argue; she simply turned and left. What Caius didn't know was that she was the princess of the powerful Menezwa family and the concertmaster of the very orchestra where Charlotte played. The Menezwa family, well aware of Selena's reckless streak, had already prepared a man for her. The arms dealer Caius was desperate to win over was already eager to become her fiancé.

Chapter 1

On the eve of Caius's succession as Godfather, He downed two pills, and then he and Selena were lost in the depths of the night, until both were utterly spent..

From the pitch-dark woods to the backseat of a Maybach, then the bathtub, and finally gripping her waist to throw her onto the bed.

She was completely drained after the long and relentless night. Staring at her torn nightgown, Selena asked hoarsely, "Caius, are you not planning to see tomorrow's sunrise?"

A thirst so raw it bordered on madness.

Caius lit a cigar.

The swirling smoke blurred his expression.

"Selena, if I said I wanted to cut things off, you wouldn't throw your life away over it, would you?"

His tone was flippant, tossed out as if in passing, but it sent a chill through Selena.

She had been with Caius for ten years and knew him better than anyone.

But today, she couldn't tell how much truth hid beneath that mocking little test.

Selena pushed herself up, narrowing her eyes at him.

The silk quilt slipped down, baring her shoulders and back.

Their eyes locked, neither speaking.

Selena moved.

She forced down the surge of emotion, snatched the cigar from his hand, drew hard, and blew the smoke into his face.

"Caius, it's been ten years."

Ten years ago, the naive, headstrong Selena would have staked her life just to stay by his side.

But ten years had passed-she was twenty-seven now.

She left the rest unsaid, but Caius understood-clear without words.

He said softly, "Then let's leave it here, Selena. We're too old for drama-it's not a good look anymore."

Selena froze, the cigar suspended between her fingers.

In the dark, tears spilled down her cheeks, blurring her makeup.

The cigar burned down, searing her fingertips with pain.

Only then did she snap back, feigning lightness.

"Alright."

Selena slipped out of bed and picked up her outfits, just about to put it on when Caius hooked an arm around her waist and pulled her back into his arms.

His kisses rained down, inch by inch, branding her skin as his seal of possession.

With practiced ease, he fastened her bra clasp, then wrapped his arms around her from behind, resting his chin on her shoulder as he used to.

"I'm getting married next month. Will you be there?"

Selena's heart tightened.

So fast? From breaking up with her to marrying another woman-this fast?

She was momentarily speechless.

"Silence means yes," Caius said as he pulled open the bedside drawer and slipped an invitation against Selena's chest.

Selena shuddered- whether from the chill of the card or the insolence of Caius's gesture, she couldn't tell, only that it stung with humiliation.

Caius patted her cheek, like he was toying with a pet.

"It's too late to leave now. Stay till morning-just one more night."

His tone was tender, almost intimate, yet it left no room for refusal.

And in these ten years, Selena had indeed never refused him anything.

She had been so yielding that he had forgotten Selena's true nature- cold and unyielding.

When she chose to sever ties, she cut them clean.

Selena shoved his hand aside and straightened out of his embrace.

"Tomorrow is too late."

He was about to get married. If she kept getting tangled up with him, kept ending up in his bed, she'd truly be nothing more than the other woman.

Caius caught the meaning behind her words.

He narrowed his eyes.

"Selena, you and I don't fit."

When he spoke of his fiancée, even his voice grew gentler.

"Her name is Charlotte Wodehurst, Orion Wodehurst's sister. Orion is an arms dealer, and I'm looking to work with him."

Selena arched a brow.

Orion Wodehurst-the infamous arms dealer whispered about throughout the underworld.

Elusive and volatile, he could make any mafia family several times stronger overnight if they secured his backing.

Caius failed to notice her reaction and went on, "She's nothing like you. She's too pure to trail after me without a name or a place. You're wild-I'm happy to play around with you, but marriage? Not a chance."

Selena's nose stung, and tears nearly welled up again.

The air was heavy with the scent of desire. She glanced at the bruises blotching her skin, then at the shredded scraps of lace.

It felt like a stone was lodged in her chest, making it hard to breathe.

Was he saying she was nothing more than a plaything for his pleasure?

How dare he?

Smoky eyes, lace, sheer stockings, tight skirts- everything Caius liked. So Selena had bent herself to his tastes, reshaping who she was.

But the more alluring she became-until even she no longer recognized herself-the more he despised her, calling her wanton.

Selena's expression iced over, the words of accusation spilling out.

"You..."

"Quiet," Caius cut in flatly, shaking the phone that buzzed in his hand. "I need to take this."

On the other end came Charlotte's soft, lilting voice, brimming with delight. "Caius, there's a meteor shower tonight. Will you come watch it with me?"

Chapter 2

Caius grabbed his coat and stormed out.

The Maybach sped out of the underground garage, and in the darkness, Selena's phone lit up.

An address and a password appeared on the screen.

"No place to stay, right? Take this apartment as severance. Pack up and move in as soon as you can. I'm busy these days, but I'll send someone to change the locks soon."

After reading the message, Selena switched off her phone.

She dragged her aching body and quietly began gathering her things.

She had lived in this villa for three years, every corner holding traces of her life and the sweet moments she once shared with Caius.

The phone lit up again.

It was Caius again.

Selena thought, by now he was probably with Charlotte, holding her hand like a lovestruck boy, watching the meteor shower.

"I've blocked you on social media. Don't contact me again-Charlotte would get jealous."

Staring at the message, Selena suddenly laughed out loud-then laughed until the tears came.

Ten years of unwavering love ended, brushed aside as if it meant nothing.

She wiped her tears and continued packing.

There wasn't much worth taking, but plenty to throw away.

The fire in the fireplace burned brightly.

Selena pulled the photos out of the album one by one, lingering on each memory before tossing them into the flames.

They kissed atop the Ferris wheel, celebrated anniversaries and Valentine's Day, and she once brought flowers to mark his graduation...

She remembered having the night together with Caius for the first time at eighteen.

"What will we be like ten years from now?"

Caius made a muffled laugh. "We'll definitely still be together. Maybe by then my father will have taken me back. I'll become the Godfather, and you'll be the Godmother."

The flames curled the edges of the photo paper.

Their faces warped in the firelight before crumbling into ashes-a symbolic severing of what once was.

He was indeed acknowledged by the Capone family and became the Godfather, but she was never the Godmother, nor did she walk with him into that tenth year.

Selena was seventeen and still in high school when she first got involved with Caius.

He excelled in his studies but, as an illegitimate child, endured constant scorn and lived in a dark, damp basement.

Caius fixed his brooding gaze on Selena in her school uniform, looking to him like a soft, tempting piece of cake.

"I'm in the mafia, living with a knife at my throat. Any second could be my last. Think it through, Selena. If you're with me, there's no future waiting for us."

Back then, Selena was naive yet stubborn.

She buried herself in Caius's arms, clinging to him as if her life depended on it.

Her clean uniform got smeared with dust, carrying the scent of Caius with it.

Selena rose on tiptoe, offering her first kiss with reverent devotion.

"I don't care about the future. I only want you. I just want to be with you-one day at a time."

Selena never went to college. Instead, she followed Caius into the mafia, wielding guns and blades by his side.

Through countless firefights, in a storm of bullets, they both survived.

In the stench of blood and disinfectant, they clung to each other with such wild abandon that they collapsed into unconsciousness, only to wake and start again.

In the height of pain, they reached the peak, savoring ultimate pleasure.

Caius once said that when he became the Godfather, the very first thing he would do was marry Selena-granting her supreme honor, his undivided devotion, and the title of the Capone family's revered Godmother.

Tomorrow, he would ascend as the Godfather.

And yet, the first thing he did was break up with her-choosing another woman to be the Godmother.

Selena burned the last photo, brushed off her hands, and rose to her feet.

She was twenty-seven now.

She could no longer afford to be reckless-running away from marriage, throwing tantrums at the Menezwa Godfather.

What Caius didn't know was that the arms dealer he was so desperate to curry favor with-Orion Wodehurst-was the very man eager to marry Selena.

Chapter 3

Selena decided it was time to go home.

Before leaving, she received an invitation to a party from a high school classmate.

It was a reunion marking ten years since graduation.

After a moment's thought, she decided to go.

She put on light makeup and slipped into a plain long dress.

As she boarded the cruise, Selena immediately recognized her former classmates, but they only looked at her without daring to acknowledge her.

Aria Francis, who had been close to Selena in high school, came up to her, took her hand, and looked her up and down in disbelief.

"Oh my God, Selena, when did you change your style? This isn't Caius's type at all."

Aria glanced around behind her, looking a little disappointed.

"Where is he? Why didn't he come with you? I heard he's now the Godfather of the Capone family. You really had good luck and sharp eyes, tying Caius down early when he was still a rising star. So, should we start calling you Godmother now?"

Their classmates joined in, teasingly calling Selena the "Godmother of the Capone family," and Aria was the loudest of them all.

Selena frowned, wondering how she should explain.

Just then, a bottle came flying straight at Aria.

Amid the gasps, Selena caught it in a flash and hurled it back hard.

The bottle grazed Caius's brow and shattered against the pillar behind him.

Wine splashed everywhere.

Instinctively, Caius turned sideways and pulled Charlotte into his arms to shield her.

His expression darkened. When he saw Selena, he froze for a moment, then his face turned cold, his words as sharp as knives.

"Selena? She thinks she's worthy?" he sneered.

"Let me introduce you. This is my fiancée, the future and only Godmother of the Capone family."

Charlotte and Caius laced their fingers together, and she smiled as she nodded to their classmates.

"Hello, my name is Charlotte. Our wedding is next week, and I hope you can all come."

After she finished speaking, she looked curiously at Selena.

"Caius, is this the Selena you told me about-the one who stayed by your side for ten years? What a coincidence, she and I ended up in the same outfit today."

Caius frowned, finally noticing that Selena, like Charlotte, was wearing light makeup and a white dress.

"A white dress for purity, Selena? How old are you now, still pretending to be innocent?"

Selena was stunned for a moment by the jab.

Caius looked her over critically and went on, "Don't even talk about imitating Charlotte. Even if you stripped bare and stood in front of me right now, I still wouldn't be interested. I know you're not willing to accept it. Fine, let's do it this way."

He licked the corner of his mouth and suddenly let out a chuckle.

He pulled out a checkbook, scrawled his name with a flourish, and shoved it into Selena's chest. "One hundred million dollars. Take it."

It was another gesture dripping with humiliation.

Selena's fingertips trembled, and her voice shook uncontrollably. "What do you mean?"

Caius laughed with a careless air, his tone as if it were only natural.

"Haven't you been with me for ten years? Ten million dollars for each year. I wasted ten years of your time, so I'll pay you a hundred million."

A buzzing exploded in Selena's ears.

She had been with Caius for ten years- charging into battles for him, taking knives and bullets for him.

She had bled and broken bones, but never had she felt pain like this day.

Right in front of her, Caius gave a roguish grin.

Selena fought the urge to swing a fist at him, yanked out the check, ripped it to pieces, and hurled it at Caius.

"I don't need your money. Truth be told, my ten years of youth are something you could never repay!"
