Esper of the Moon

In the Viva Continent, countless esper masters were born. Esper are humans who had awakened their Esper Spirit and possesses Esper energy to continue cultivating. And some humans cultivated to the extreme are called Titled Esper and people who had the strength of a Titled Esper are known being the strongest human in the history.

Esper

That was the profession of Esper were also known as the noblest profession throughout the continent and being an Esper can bring great honor to any household.

Every person would awaken their Esper Spirit at the age of six, and people who've Esper spirits with spirit power can become an Esper. Every Esper can be granted a title each time a person advances to another stage and the strongest human were known to Viva Continent are called Title Esper, every time an Esper hit a bottleneck in their cultivation; they will hunt and kill Esper beasts to get a Halo and their strength will improve by leaps and bounds; continue cultivating to the very peak of each stage and hunt Esper beasts and get halos; these continue for generation to generations until now.

Across the deep blue ocean. There is a hazy mist that outstretches to the sky. Where even the sunlight can barely penetrate and even entering it. You can't even see a thing and for somehow, the mist possesses some mystic force, you can easily get lost in the thick hazy mist. And the hazy mist can actually disable a person's Esper energy. Without knowing the right path, one could easily get lost forever!

Across the hazy mist that hid a gorgeous big island. The islands were covered in lush green plant that covered the ground and were full of vitality and vigor. Although it is not as large as the Viva Continent but, nevertheless, the island was still large.

Under the hazy mist, the island looks like a fairyland, with a hint of mystery and holiness. It was as if the island were protected by some special powers, the mist can never penetrate to the island, even if it is just an inch of the island, the mist avoids touching it. Even just a corner of it; it avoided it like a plague. The mist that one could get lost forever was even afraid to come close to the island, just how terrifying is the island can be?

The island is called; Moon God Island. Legend has it that the islands were built especially to worship the Moon God, who had been protecting them from harm. However, this is just a legend, no one could testify it to be true.

At the heart of the island, an awe-inspiring tall majestic ancient-looking temple that span for almost a kilometer wide were located. The temple was huge, but the island was much larger than the temple making it look miniscule, but looking at it up close, the Temple still looks impressive.

This is the Moon God Temple, the holy land in the Moon God Island. Since ancient times, the temple has already existed along with the island, no one could really tell how long the Temple exist or who built it. Moon God Temple is one of the major forces on the island, but it is the most mysterious forces and who also currently dominate the whole island.

The residence looks grand as frequent energy fluctuations occasionally emit from every corner, making cultivating twice the result with half an effort, the Moon God Temple is definitely the Holy Land for Esper. That was why, countless Esper dreamed of entering it but Moon God Temple only accept some small scale of number of Esper but, nevertheless, many young talents fought for a place.

But entering the Temple is never an easy thing, and only the elite among the elites can enter it. Every temple disciples who enter the Moon God Temple will be given a special identity badge with stars written in it.

The stars ingrained on it corresponds to strength an Esper has. The more star marks on a badge, the greater the strength it corresponds.

A tall and slim silhouette suddenly emerged from the very top of the Temple's summit. Looking at the silhouette a little closer, and you could see a woman in her early forties. But what you can see that she still look like a thirty-year-old woman with her long silky black hair silently flutter along with the chilly breeze. As her silvery eyes looked at the starry sky with sorrow. Her flawless pearly white hands held a white clothes that were much smaller than her perfect sculpted body, she looked at it and her silvery eyes reddened and moistened.

"Yue-er..."

Her clear soft voice sounded out as those words escape from her rosy lips, the light of the moon lighted up her face, and you could see her perfect features; perfectly shaped face, her thin and straight nose, her rosy lips, her pearly white skin and her silvery eyes that were so clear that it would reflect the whole world but right now, those pretty eyes felt like crying.

"My child, why did you have to leave me?" Her clear voice trembles as clear droplets drop from her eyes. It was such a heartbreaking scene to see such a thing, to see a goddess to cry; it was really heartbreaking.

She could clearly remember her daughter's bell-like laughter and heartwarming smile. Making her heart ached terribly. It has been years since her daughter died because of hunting Esper beasts searching for a new halo. Her daughter was powerful and almost no Esper beasts can threaten her unless it is a Sacred Esper Beasts would make its appearance. But, her daughter was still killed and only her daughter's pair of torn badges were found along with some blood stained clothes were left behind.

Due to the Temple's vicious rules, she can't simply accompany her daughter and help her to get her Halo. With her current strength, there is almost non-existent Esper beasts that can threaten her life so accompanying her daughter to get a Halo should be as easy as lifting a finger but, powerful as she is; she is still can't shake the rules. Her daughter must hunt Esper beasts alone and without external help; whoever violate it must be crippled and be kicked out from the world of Esper, it was an extremely vicious punishments and no one wanted to violate it, not even her; nobody had the guts to do it...

But now, looking at the white robes that her daughter used to loved and wear, her eyes couldn't help but water again. She bit her lips as she quietly sobs.

She regretted it.

Why was she afraid of breaking the rules? Is rules are more important than her daughter's life?

The answer was No...

Even if it was just breaking the rules, if she knew that her daughter would die, she would die breaking the rules, even if she was crippled and be thrown out of the Esper's World; she would gladly accept it as long as she could save her daughter's life. Even if sacrificing her life to save her daughter, she would do it without regrets, but time can't rewind and regret can't bring a dead person back to life.

She wanted to avenge her daughter's death, but even the Esper beast who had killed her daughter was still a mystery, and she couldn't blindly massacre Esper beasts or else the consequences would be hard to bear. Even several years has passed, but her daughter's killer still wasn't found and the killing intent hidden in her heart was growing stronger day by day.

She ruefully sighed as she looked at her daughter sobbed and watch her cry, her old heart filled with sorrow. Furthermore, she patted her daughter's shoulder and said;

"Let it be, Yue Lin-er. Fate has given her that kind of destiny... We can do nothing but accept it" She said calmly, but her eyes betrayed her words. Her silvery eyes were also filled with sadness.

The 40-year-old woman stopped for a moment until a hoarse voice escaped from her rosy lips, "But mother... I just can't accept it! Yue-er is such a good child, why heaven's take her?"

Her mother just laughed bitterly as her eyes filled with sorrow, "Maybe, it's because my granddaughter is so pretty like a goddess that the gods took her to accompany them? He...he-he...he" she joked to ease the atmosphere between them.

She knew that her mother wanted to make her laugh, so Yue Lin smiled, but her smile couldn't reach her eyes and when she thought of her daughter's appearance, droplets of water dripped from her eyes as she sorrowfully said

"Right, Yue-er is so beautiful and heavenly talented... How can heavens not take her? How can gods not be jealous because of her heaven defying talent?" She gloomily said as she gripped the clothes in her hands:

"How can Gods be so unfair? Why take her! Why not me?!" Her body shook and tears continue to fall.

"Yue Lin-er, you...."

The Supreme Moon Pontiff were shocked by her outburst, the countless years of suffering and missing her daughter she had been suppressing has finally erupted. The Supreme Moon Pontiff's eyes once again moistened, she hurriedly gave her daughter a hug.

Tonight, the unrivalled expert, the Supreme Moon Pontiff was just an ordinary mother who just wants to comfort her daughter and wants to take her away from the pain.

"Yue Lin-er, I understand you... The love you had for your daughter is no worse than my love for my granddaughter, just let the things let go... Little Yue-er won't be happy to see her mother cry because of her".

Yue Lin stop crying for a moment as the killing intent in her heart surged out as she lost control of herself for a moment, her face was dark and her silvery eyes brimming with killing intent as her hand gripped the clothes in her hands even tighter

"This... This is...!" Her heartfelt cold as a familiar aura that she could never forget in her entire lifetime.

"Mother, I can feel it... The killer who killed my daughter.... This aura, I can feel it.... I can't be mistaken." She said with difficulty, barely hiding the killing intent that were spilling from the depths of her heart.

The moment she said it, she quickly stood up and disappear from where she is. The Supreme Moon Pontiff's first reaction were stunned and confused but later on, she gradually understood and her silvery eyes brimming with killing intent as she said in her heart;

'You killed my Granddaughter and you still had the guts to appear in my turfs, how bold.'

She disappeared into shadows and swiftly follow her daughter to the outer perimeter of the Moon God Temple's territory. Yue Lin followed her acute sense to sense the Esper beast who killed her daughter with bloodshot eyes. She can barely calm down, and her chaotic thoughts makes her extremely infuriated and losing the ability to think. At the faced of facing your daughter's killer, which mother who had lost their child can calm down?

"Yue Lin-er, calm down!" Her mother persuaded her, but as if she didn't hear anything. She continues to advance without stopping and in just a few seconds. They were finally out of the perimeter of Moon God Temple and is still headed to a Great Esper Beast's Forest.

Currently, Yue Lin stopped and her heart gradually calm down, but the intention to kill was still there. She looked at the forest with complicated eyes as a painful light flashed through her silvery eyes!

This is where her daughter died in the hand of the Esper beast.....

The faint aura that she felt kilometers away, gradually becoming stronger and stronger than her blood boils in anger. Her intention to kill grew stronger and stronger, without waiting for a second. She dived through the forest without hesitation, quietly followed the aura of the killer.

The cloaked person just raised its hand and revealed a fair clear snowy white hand and clearly, this kind of hands were clearly owned by a woman.

Yue Lin's attacks met the mysterious woman's hands and nothing huge happened. Her eyes shrank as she felt that her Esper energy gradually depleting at a frightening rate, she felt that her attacks weren't just been block but rather her attack has been devoured!

"How dare you kill my daughter! I'll kill you!!" After being the disadvantage on their first exchange, she wasn't fazed by it, someone who could kill her daughter must be extraordinary and most likely to be in the strength of a Titled Esper. She knew that being a disadvantage after exchanging blows reminded her that she was no match for that mysterious woman in terms of an Esper skill. She suddenly changed tactics and immediately summon her Esper spirit and countless trees were uprooted as a 500-meter tall snowy white owl suddenly appeared within the forest along with nine halo floated behind it. It was extremely dazzling, and its terrifying aura spread out at almost everywhere, and Esper beast in the periphery dare not to move under such terrifying pressure.

However, despite that. The mysterious cloaked woman did not even bat an eye on it and as if the in front of her was just a dancing clown that wants her attention and that's what makes Yue Lin furious as her ninth halo shines and used her strongest skill in her arsenal to do the finishing blow...

"Die!" She roared, and she just heard a harrumph, and it appears that time seems to froze, and she couldn't move; her brain stopped working as she only had one thought in mind;

A melodious voice, like a voice of an angel sounded out that would anyone feel at ease but, to her; it sounded like a grim reaper who came to reap souls and her heart couldn't help but turn cold and shudder under such dire situation.

"How bold! Killing someone from my territory, you vile woman, you have guts!" Just as about the mysterious woman was about to make a move, her domain suddenly been broken through, the mysterious woman was startled, and Yue Lin was able to moved again and taking advantage of the little time, rapidly, she retreated a fairly good amount of distance from the cloaked woman.

"Yue Lin-er, I told you not to be impulsive! Look! You almost got yourself killed!" The newly arrived reinforcement was her mother. The Supreme Moon Pontiff of the Moon God Temple. Who was currently the known strongest person on the whole island has come to rescue her daughter out of her current predicament, but it seems so difficult.

The opponent her daughter had provoked is as the same level as herself!

And who was she?

She is the Supreme Moon Pontiff who dominated the entire island. No one could basically compare to her in terms of cultivation but now, the very same cultivation as she has appeared and even though the cloaked woman tried to cover her cultivation rank. But how could it escape from her eyes?

They heard a sigh and the cloaked woman took off her cloaked and their eyes shrank as they were mystified....

They had never seen a woman this beautiful...

Not only that, but they have even forgotten their intentions and could only stare foolishly at the face that is comparable to a goddess. They were once known as the number one beauty on the island during their youths, but comparing their looks to the mysterious woman in front of them, made them feel at a loss.

Long bluish-white silky hair carelessly caressed her pearly white neckline as her cold nine colored gem-like eyes stare at them with at a loss expression that makes someone wants to comfort her. But what caught their attention is an eye-catching that was on her head was a majestic horn, and those horns are one of a kind. Clear as a crystal and with the moonlight shinning upon her. She looked like a moon fairy that descended to the mortal world.

But seeing those horns, the two women became wary as they silently muttered

"A Great Esper Beast." They said in unison as their face gradually turned serious. This is much more serious than they thought.

"Esper Beast? What is that? I've given birth to everything, it has been so long... How many millennia has passed by upon my deep slumber? I became muddle headed that I've lost most of my memories..." She sighed as her expression were dull, and her figure became lonely.

But hearing her words didn't mean that Yue Lin would sympathize her but rather, she was enraged as killing intent surged out from her body "You've lost your memories? Then what about my daughter? Did you forget that you killed her too?"
