Genre: Romance
Elva, born with a silver spoon in her mouth, lost all her memories in a car accident. However, the man she saw after waking up called her Amanda and made her take the consequences that woman caused. Amanda was no other than his ex-girlfriend, who cheated on him and trampled on his love. Having no idea what she was going to face, Elva looked innocent in front of that devil man. He thought she was playing tricks to win his sympathy, but he had no idea that she had already stolen his heart.

Chapter 1 The Car Roared At Midnight

"Sister, our parents prepared a birthday party for you at the hotel. Our aunts and uncles are all here. Come quickly!"

As she listened to the pampering voice over the phone, Elva Bai replied with a smile, "I see, brother."

After she hung up, the traffic light in front of her turned green. It was already late at night and the rain was pouring heavily outside. Because of this, there weren't a lot of pedestrians or cars out on the street.

Elva Bai held the umbrella on one hand while she clasped the hemline of her yellow dress with her other hand. She ran across the road as the rain splashed on the ground around. A strong white light from the left penetrated her vision and was accompanied by a sharp and harsh sound of a brake.

As Elva Bai ran, she suddenly stopped in shock and hurried to see what was going on. In front of her, a silver gray BMW rushed over with a dazzling white light. Before she could react, her body was flung up in the air. She violently landed on the ground with blood profusely gushing out of her body.

The rain was getting heavier and heavier, and the dripping sounds lingered on.

The feeling of being soaked in the rain was cold and piercing. The surging pain made Elva Bai realize that she was hit by the car. She felt her head spinning and wanted to open her eyes. However, she couldn't do so. Caught in a daze, she could vaguely hear someone talking from a distance.

"Is she dead?"

"Not yet, but she looks like she's about to."

"Just leave her here. Let's leave now. If we don't get to the airport, then we won't be able leave any more."

"What a pity! This woman is really beautiful!"

"Charles! You are crossing the line!" Anger was obvious in the female voice. The man tried to comfort her immediately.

"Honey, don't be angry. I'm just kidding. How can this woman rival your beauty? You know I only love you. Well, don't be angry. Let's hurry up, or else they will catch up."

"That's what I want to hear!

Charles, I'm a little worried. As far as I know, he won't let me go that easily. Running away will not resolve the root of the problem."

"Then tell me, how can we solve this once and for all?"

"HMM I've come up with a solution. I'm sure I can solve it!"

"Oh, really? So what do we do?"

"......"

Elva Bai heard nothing about what they were planning as she lost her consciousness. In the boundless darkness, she floated back and forth like a ghost in the dark world. She didn't know how long she had floated, and she kept floating in confusion. It was not until a dazzling white light came in that all the darkness in the world started to fade away.

"Doctor Wang, what's wrong with her? Didn't you say that she was fine? Why hasn't she woken up yet?" The man's voice was magnetic and pleasant to hear, but at this moment it sounded a little impatient.

"Mr. William, I don't understand either. She is supposed to wake up, but..."

"She should have woken up! She should have woken up! But she has been in a coma for a whole week. Is this what you call 'should have'?" She didn't know what he was angry about, and his voice started to get louder and louder. His booming rage made the sleeping girl frown in response.

Suddenly, the doctor's voice was laced with a tone of surprise. "Mr. William, she was reacting to what you're saying."

'What are they talking about?

She? Who is she?

Why is there sudden elation in the doctor's voice? Why doesn't the pleasant voice speak?'

The girl on the bed, delicate and beautiful, fluttered her eyelashes and tried to blink, but failed to open her eyes.

"Uh..." The doctor was confused.

Suddenly, someone grabbed her collar and lifted her up.

She heard the fascinating voice again as it thundered across the room. "Amanda! You are actually fine. I bet that you are just pretending to be asleep, so that you can avoid your mistakes! I don't care whether or not you are in a coma. You'd better open your eyes immediately, or else I will kill your parents!"

Elva Bai frowned and didn't understand

Why was the owner of this charming voice so angry?

Why did he say that he would kill her parents if she didn't open her eyes?

By the way, who were her parents?

Why couldn't she remember anything?

She struggled to open her eyes and saw an incredibly handsome face. The man had short black hair, which made him look very refreshing and energetic.

There were also two perfect eyebrows and a pair of narrow and long eyes. Even so, he didn't look feminine. On the contrary, he looked cool and vigorous.

His nose was tall and straight, as if he had some Western blood, and his lips were even more pink and thinner than women's, adding extra charm to him. It seemed that every corner on his face had been carefully carved and blessed by the god.

However, when she stared at his eyes, she found that he was very angry. His eyebrows were raised up high and he glared at her in a terrifying manner.

But, Elva Bai didn't care about his expression at all. She just stared at the man in a daze, slowly reached out her hand and touched his face. With a dull expression, she said, "I seem to know you!"

The handsome face darkened and looked terrible. He shook off her hand and shouted angrily, "Amanda, what the hell are you doing?"

"Amanda? Me?" She blinked her limpid eyes and looked confused.

"Who else could you be?" William Long looked at her with hatred. His eyes were full of anger, as if he wanted to burn her to death.

"You mean my name is Amanda?" She looked at him blankly and pointed at herself.

"Don't play dumb with me!" He was even angrier. He could forgive what had happened before, but this time, he couldn't.

Amanda Su knew that the company was the fruition of his grandfather's lifelong efforts. He worked hard to make his business so powerful that it couldn't be surpassed in City A. However, she destroyed his lifelong legacy.

She ruined it!

He glared at the woman, which made her shiver with fear. She licked her dry lips and said innocently, "I'm not playing dumb. I really don't remember my name."

"Stop pretending! Amanda, am I an idiot in your eyes? Can't I tell your lies from truth? Huh?" He was so upset that he violently shook her body, immediately making her dizzy.

"Let me go! Let me go!" She was forced to shake her head. Feeling extremely uncomfortable, she slapped his hands aggressively.

Damn it! Did he want to kill her?

As if he didn't hear her, he shook her so hard that he felt the veins in his hands throbbing. He looked at her painful gaze and felt the pleasure of revenge.

The doctor, who stood quietly beside, walked over and interjected, "Mr. William, she just woke up and is still very weak. If you keep shaking her, she may pass out again and won't be able to wake up. Please let her rest so that your work won't be delayed any further."

Chapter 2 Don't Play Dumb Here

When he heard what the doctor said, he loosened his grip.

Elva fell on the bed and gasped for air. When she felt a little better, she stared at him and asked in an aggrieved tone, "I don't remember my name. Why are you so angry?"

"Are you telling me to play along with your charade?" William dryly laughed in anger.

"I didn't say that. Don't misunderstand my statements," she retorted, feeling uncomfortable when she heard what he just said.

Who the hell was this man? She should have recognized him. His face seemed so familiar to her, but it was strange that she couldn't remember anything.

She patted her head irritably.

When he saw what she was doing, William frowned at her. "What trick are you trying to play this time?"

Elva felt miserable. She couldn't even remember her identity nor could she recall who the man was in front of her. Her mind was blank and she didn't know anything about her past. Her memory was as clean as a sheet of white paper, making her really upset. How could he blame her for this? It wasn't like she was pretending at all.

"I'm not playing a trick! I really don't remember." She irritably huffed, "It's not only my name that I can't remember. I seem to have forgotten everything."

"Amanda Su!" His voice thundered across the room and he looked at her with a murderous gaze. "Don't think that I will forgive you a hundred times. Everything that is happening now is different from the past. You'd better be smart and stop play tricks with me. I won't go easy on you anymore!"

He stressed the last few words!

The look in his eyes were so horrifying that she was shocked and scared. "I'm not playing tricks on you! Whatever I said is true! Why don't you believe me? Why do you keep misunderstanding what I said?"

"Believe you?" His face darkened. He looked at her and slowly drawled each word. "Are you trustworthy?"

Why didn't she deserve his trust?

Before she could say anything further, he stared at her with a funny look. In a vague voice, he murmured, "I used to believe every word you told me, but you don't deserve my trust anymore!"

"Why?" she asked in a low voice. Why didn't he believe her anymore? What happened that made him lose his trust in her? The obvious hatred in his eyes hurt her inexplicably.

What did she do to make him hate her so much?

"You know it!" he spat in cold anger.

"I don't know anything. I truly know nothing! I've told you that I can't remember anything about me or my past!" She was a little hurt. Why did she feel familiar to him when she woke up? She didn't care if she couldn't remember him. She just wanted to know why he hated her so much.

"Amanda! I already told you to stop playing tricks on me!" He suddenly grabbed her by the neck. His eyes flashed with an obscure and strong murderous will.

She suffocated and her face turned blue as his hands tightened around her neck. She slapped the hands that grabbed her neck and cried out in a muffled sound, "Let go of me! Let go of me..."

The doctor next to him was startled by the scene. He didn't want a murder to happen in the room. He was about to step forward and stop William, but the man gave him a cold glare.

"This is none of your business. Get out!"

The doctor sympathetically looked at the injured girl, but turned around and walked out.

William continued to hold on to her neck, as if he really wanted to strangle her. Looking at the man's emotionless face, she became extremely angry. What on earth had she done wrong? Why did he hate her so much that he wanted to kill her himself?

But why could he decide her life and death?

She cherished her life, even though he didn't.

"Let me go! Let me go!" She beat and kicked him, but his grip around her neck was too strong. Left with no other choice, she angrily lowered her head and strongly bit the back of his hand.

She bit him hard! In pain, William finally let go of her neck. His eyes narrowed and lifted his hand to show her the teeth marks on his skin. "How dare you bite me?"

"Ahem!" She coughed and took a few deep breaths before saying, "I was just trying to save myself."

"Amanda, I already warned you. Everything is different from the way it was before!" There was a faint tone of danger laced in his voice.

Before she could process what he had said, he slapped her. The impact made her fall back on the bed. She felt her face burning and stinging in pain and her nose caught the scent of blood. She looked and found that some had splattered on the white bed sheet.

The burning pain and the striking blood enraged her. Even if he seemed familiar or if they had known each other, she couldn't stand him one bit. How could he slap her like this? She didn't deserve such mistreatment!

"You are crazy. Why can't I fight back if you want to strangle me?" Her face turned red, and she was so angry that she tried to slap him back. However, William dodged her attack with ease and even grasped her hand.

He looked at her red and swollen face, a complicated emotion flashing through his eyes. For a second he looked like he cared, but that was immediately replaced with a hint of cruelty. "You bit me and got beaten. You're the one to blame for this. And my thoughts of killing you is very deserving as well."

She couldn't understand what just he said. She already insisted that she remembered nothing, but he didn't believe her. What else should she do to convince him?

Being hated, abused, and beaten for no reason at all. Even if she was a holy being, not that she was, she would still lose her temper.

"Let me go!" She fended off his hand and stared at him indignantly. He was so handsome, but his behavior was so hateful. "You are a mad man, insane. Tell me, what on earth did I do to you? Why do I deserve to die?"

William looked at her with a gloomy expression. He was about to lose his temper again. However, this woman seemed more furious than he was. "Even if you want me to die, you have to tell me what I have done wrong. There has to be a reason why you are acting like this. Everything you're doing is confusing me."

"Amanda, aren't you tired of acting alone?" He gazed at her coldly to emphasize that he never believed what she had said ever since the beginning.

"I'm telling the truth. I really don't remember anything. I'm not playing dumb, let alone acting. Why don't you trust me?" She was going crazy after repeating herself multiple times. This man had the ability to drive sane people crazy.

It was a tragedy for her to lose all her memories. Why did she have to face this delusional scene when she woke up? If she had known earlier that this would happen, then she wouldn't have woken up.

He didn't respond to her. Instead, he gave her a sullen look that made her hair strands on her arm stand straight. She knew that he must be assuming that she was lying again. Of course, she wasn't lying at all. However, she was not going to submit herself to his threats. She gave him a stubborn glare as a response.

Facing her glare, William frowned. Suddenly, a pleasant tone rang. He took out his phone and looked at it. Without looking at her, he turned around and walked out of the room.

She didn't calm down until the door slammed shut.

What the hell was this all about?

Elva sat on the bed and maintained her original posture. She was still confused. The sun shone in from the window and lit up her face. The light made the cheek that got slapped look redder and swollen than before. It looked awful.

She touched it and felt a burning pain. She was extremely unhappy when she thought of the man's anger and everything that just happened.

Why should she suffer through this? What had she done to make him so resentful? Since the man thought she was playing tricks, she would find out the truth on her own.

She looked at her body and found that she was wearing thin pajamas. The education she received made her want to change into decent dress before leaving the room. However, she found nothing after searching around. In the end, she had no choice but to go out in her pajamas.

She passed through the long corridor and didn't see anyone. However, she didn't know the way out. It took her about half an hour to find the spiral staircase. Looking down from the balcony, she saw on the bottom floor that there were servants cleaning.

She went downstairs without hesitation.

A sweeping servant saw her and looked at her in a stunned expression. The expression on the servant's face was complicated. It seemed like she wanted to turn a blind eye to her. After hesitating for a while, she finally lowered her head and greeted her, "Miss Su."

The servant waved her hand and was about to leave, but Elva grabbed her hand. Her eyes lit up with surprise. "You know me?"

She was still thinking about how she would approach anyone else to ask if they knew her. The servant happened to acknowledge her and even if it wasn't a sincere greeting, she didn't care. She just wanted to know what had happened to her.

The young and beautiful servant took a step back in disgust and pulled her hand out of her grip. She lowered her head slightly to look respectful. Her voice, however, was filled with sarcasm. "Miss Su, you must be joking. Everyone here knows you!"

Elva frowned and was not very happy. Anyone who was hated without a reason would probably be as angry as her. If she had not wanted to know what had happened, she would not have bothered to talk to the servant!

She cleared her throat and asked, "I feel like I slept for a long time. When I woke up, I couldn't remember anything. Since you know me, just tell me, who I am? What's my relationship with the man called William? Why does he hate me?"

Hearing this, the servant, who was lowering her head slightly, immediately looked up at her. Her beautiful eyes were full of jealousy and hatred, and she even forgot to fake politeness. "Amanda, what trick on earth are you playing?"

"Trick? Why is it a trick again!" Elva smiled bitterly, "I'm telling the truth. Why don't you believe me?"

"Do you want me to believe you?" the servant sneered. She then ran to the table in the hall and picked up a fruit knife. When she ran back, she handed it to her. "If you stab yourself, I will believe what you said is true!"

Elva looked at the woman in front of her, who seemed serious about what she just said. She gazed at the glittering and cold fruit knife. She wondered why she had to be unlucky enough to ask this mad woman for an answer.

The servant looked at Elva and didn't feel strange that she didn't take the blade. She raised her eyebrows with resentment. "If the knife had been aimed at anyone except yourself, you would have stabbed them without any hesitation. How can I believe a person like you?"

Chapter 3 It's Not Her Fault (Part One)

Elva was shocked.

What was the servant insinuating?

If the knife had been aimed at someone else, how would she have stabbed them without hesitation?

Was she such a cruel person? Did she commit such horrendous acts before? No, how could that be possible?

She was not that type of person!

She couldn't be that bad!

Without saying anything further, the servant sneered at her and turned around to leave.

"What's your name?" Elva couldn't help but ask the servant. It was apparent that she held a deep grudge against her, but Elva was persistent in wanting to know what happened.

The servant stopped in her tracks. She turned around and glared at Elva. "What? Do you want to remember my name so that you can find an opportunity to take revenge against me one day? Alright. My name is Sarah Shu! You better remember it then!"

"I didn't mean it like that!" She tried to explain in a hurry, but it seemed that Sarah Shu didn't care about hearing what she had to say. Instead of listening, the servant just glared at her and turned around to leave.

Elva stood still. She knew what she saw when she looked into Sarah Shu's eyes. It was filled with hatred, as if she wanted to strangle her alive.

What on earth had she done? Why was she hated by so many people?

Was she really the type of person who would mercilessly stab others?

Did she really hurt that many people?

No! That was impossible! She didn't want to believe it. The person Sarah Shu described couldn't be her!

She clenched her fists and continued to ask the other servants. However, they either avoided her or mirrored Sarah Shu's reaction. They were all full of resentment towards her!

Among all kinds of uncertainty, the only thing she was sure of was that her real name was Amanda. The man was consistent in calling her that.

As she sat on the leather sofa, Elva felt very nervous. The countless reproachful and resentful eyes that she met made her very uncomfortable. She tried every means to recall the memories in her past. However, she still couldn't remember anything, and when she tried, her head would hurt from thinking too much.

Suddenly, she heard an angry voice bellow from the gateway. "Amanda!"

Subconsciously, she turned her head towards the direction of the voice. She suddenly felt a slap on her face and started to feel dizzy. When she finally came to her senses, she could feel the burning pain on her cheek.

Elva touched her face with anger in her eyes. She looked up and saw a furious woman standing in front of her.

She seemed to be around 40 years old, well-dressed and having exquisite makeup on. She looked very noble and unparalleled.

As if one slap was not enough to vent her anger, the woman slapped her again. She seemed to be addicted in slapping her. With narrow eyes, Elva stood up and boldly blocked the assault. Without hesitation, she slapped the woman in return.

"Clap!" The sound was crisp and it was much louder than the previous ones!

"Ah!" In an instant, she was surrounded by people screaming around her.

The servants who had been busy in the different areas of the house suddenly ran towards the noble woman who had gotten slapped. While some were nervous and worried, they all gazed at Elva with a gloating look.

"Huh!" Elva finally understood everything and couldn't help but laugh.

It turned out that these people had seen what had happened. They remained onlookers when this woman crazily slap her. But when she defended herself, they came over to help the wretched woman.

'I see!' They were all just waiting and wishing to see her get in trouble and suffer.

She didn't remember what had happened in the past. She didn't even know if she had hurt a lot of people. From everything that had just happened, she didn't want to know anymore.

With a vengeful thought in her mind, Elva decided that she would try to live better since they were all expecting the worse. She would let whoever was teasing her regret their decisions.

"Madam, are you okay?"

Josiah Cheng pushed the servant away as she was about to help her. She felt the surging pain on her face and she stared at Elva in disbelief. "How dare you hit me?"

She had the hairdo of a typical rich lady that was part of the upper class, but it was now disheveled after Elva slapped her. She looked so embarrassed, and the incredulity on her face made Elva want to laugh. "You hit me, so why can't I hit back?"

She got slapped for no reason. Why did she have to bear this unreasonable assault?

'Madam?

Was she William's wife? No, she looked too old to be his wife. She had to be his mother!

No wonder she acted that way! They all behaved abnormally and thought of the same ideas. Would she also say that I deserved it?'

Although she was no match for William, it didn't mean that she was weak!

Josiah Cheng was trembling with fury, but she still maintained her noble demeanor, which surprised Elva. She glared at Elva, with a hint of disappointment dancing in her eyes.

"Catch her. I have to teach her a lesson today, or else I will feel guilty for the love I showed her a dozen years ago!"

"What are you doing?" Elva frowned as the servants grabbed her hands and pressed their palms on her back. Some of them even secretly pinched her sides. The pain made her face turn pale. They really wanted her dead.

"This is all you can do. You can only play dirty tricks behind my back!" Elva yelled at them.

Josiah Cheng glanced at the servants as if she wanted to say something. It was apparent that she understood what they were doing behind her back, but she didn't oppose it. Elva snorted. They were all the same!

Josiah Cheng didn't deny anything. "It's time for you to finally understand what 'You reap what you sow' means!"

"Stop beating around the bush. I don't understand what you're trying to tell me. If you want to say something, just state it clearly." Elva didn't bother to mince her words. She hated the people who wanted to say something, but expressed it in a vague manner. She couldn't even remember what happened in the past. They didn't tell her the whole story and this made her quite anxious.

"You never understood anything. When you were a child, you would always say you didn't understand, but everyone still spoiled you. Now you are still saying that you don't understand anything. Amanda, you are so heartless! You are just like your parents!" Josiah Cheng couldn't stand it anymore. She looked at her with mixed feelings. Thinking of Amanda's parents and what she had done made her even angrier.

"Clap!" Another slap loudly landed on Elva's red and swollen face!

She couldn't resist or struggle from their grip. She could only helplessly bear the pain they inflicted on her. Her face hurt so much. However, she didn't know what she had done to them.

One slap followed another.

The torture was endless!

Elva spat out a mouthful of blood and retorted by instinct, "Don't mention my parents! They have nothing to do with this!"

Josiah Cheng looked at the woman in surprise, as if she didn't expect to hear such words coming from her mouth. She stared at her with an incredulous grin. "I wasn't aware that you had a close relationship with your parents. You don't seem to mind your own suffering, but here you are defending them! But they are not any better than you! Your entire family is ungrateful!"
