Chapter 1 CHAP. 1

As the hush of morning fell, whispers of mischief danced across the soft light filtering through the windows.

"Jasmine, breakfast is ready". Jade's voice cut sharp through the quiet, resounding across the house.

"Got it coming!" Jasmine responded chirpily while her voice still tinged with sleep. She stretched out lazily, feeling the cool air brush against her skin as she pulled herself up from bed.

"Let me shower now," she mumbled while removing her clothes and stepping into the bathroom, turning on the water before pouring soap into the bathtub.

The warm water surrounded her, washing away a tidal wave of calmness over her.

Finally, some peace, she thought while brushing her teeth as the hot water soothed the throbbing headache that lingered on her, her body drying with each part of her towel.

No sooner was she near the closet than the door swung open with a bang.

"Jasmine We have been waiting for so long. Come on so that we can finally have some breakfast!"

Jayla hastened in, frustration laced in her voice. "Almost done, be right there" Jasmine sighed, watching as Jayla exited, still fuming.

She headed downstairs already shifting to the day ahead where the rest of the family were seated in the dining room, waiting for her.

Her mom looked up, a trace of impatience in her eyes.

"Spurt ahead, We've been waiting for you so we can get started."

"Good morning, Mom and Dad. Sorry for the delay. I woke up with a slight headache," Jasmine explained as she took her seat ignoring the tension that hung in the air.

Her parents exchanged a glance before responding, "No worries. Hope you're feeling better now, much better, thanks," offering a small smile.

Jayla rolled her eyes; impatience was written across her face.

"Can we eat now, please? I am famished!" she said, already reaching for the toast.

She then turned to her father.

"Dad, can I have your credit card? I want to go shopping at the Louis Vuitton mall. They've got a new collection of bags that I would love to have."

Looking up from his plate, he nodded with a smile, "Sure sweetie, anything for my girls."

Jade, ever the thinker, suddenly spoke up, "You know, it just came to me; what if the Earth suddenly stopped rotating?"

Jasmine rolled her eyes. "Not this again, she said. Just stop. We know you're a nerd."

Jade shot back unfazed, "Being a nerd isn't a bad thing, you know."

The tension in the room thickened and Jayla quickly intervened, "Please, no argument. Let's not start this again. Want to come shopping with me?"

Jayla asked, turning toward Jade with hopeful eyes.

"Yeah, sure. I need a new top for next weekend anyway," Jade replied, as the earlier tension dissipated.

The sisters exited the dining room, headed to the Car, and turned on the sound system, playing a step ahead of Kygo's "It Ain't Me." It was their favorite-one that set them to have a carefree day.

They started singing, their voice harmonising to the upbeat melody as they prepped for a day of indulgence.

Later that morning, they pulled up to the Golden Oaks Mall, with its smooth, cream-colored marble floors reflecting the crystal chandeliers overhead, with lush greenery adding a touch of elegance to the opulent scene.

A security guard opened the door with a slight bow.

"Good morning, ladies," he greeted as the workers in the store nodded in familiarity, no doubt remembering them and their wealth from many other visits like this one.

"I'll catch up with you in a bit," Jade said as they entered the mall.

Jayla nodded and headed toward the Louis Vuitton store.

As she came nearer to where the sales receptionist was seated, the lady greeted her warmly. "Welcome, Ms. Jayla. How may I assist you today?"

Jayla smiled. "I'd love to see your limited edition handbags, please."

The receptionist nodded and went to the counter to retrieve the collection.

A tall, handsome man carrying an array of expensive dresses approached just then.

Jayla turned, and her breath caught in her throat as their eyes met. *Who is he?* she wondered.

"Woah, your girlfriend must be so lucky," Jayla blurted out, her voice barely above whisper level, unable to hide her curiosity.

He turned out a charming smile. "Why do you say that?"

"Because you're holding a lot of expensive clothes," Jayla replied, feeling slightly flustered.

He chuckled softly. "I work here. My name's Axel."

Jayla felt her cheeks flush. "Oh I'm so sorry," she said, her voice faltering.

"Not at all," Axel replied, his smile unwavering.

As she fumbled with her bag, it slipped from her grasp, and Axel was immediately down on one knee beside her reaching for the same strap.

Their hands touched and for a moment, everything seemed to freeze.

A jolt of electricity ran through her as their eyes locked, and her breath caught as she felt herself being pulled in-like metal to a magnet, by some invisible force.

Axel pulled back, his expression unreadable, but his voice was soft. "Sorry," he mumbled.

Jayla blinked through the moment. "No worries," she replied, trying to steady her racing heart.

The receptionist returned with the handbags, and Jayla took a forceful interest in him, though her mind could not leave Axel.

She studied the bags, peeping up at him, and wondered what just occurred-and what that might mean.

"Your bag is ready," the receptionist says to Jayla, still lost in her thoughts about him; she stares at him before heading out with her purchased item, trying to maintain her composure in a rush.

She had unknowingly left her phone behind as she reached into her bag to call Jade, realizing she left it on top of the counter.

She rushes back inside the Louis Vuitton store and runs into Axel.

She almost falls but Axel instantly catches her by the waist, their lips now inches apart. Axel's smile, a smug expression on his face.

"Two encounters in one day," he says, smooth and teasing.

Jayla struggles to keep herself in check as she nods and says, "Yes, it seems."

He slowly releases his grip on her waist, and she quickly retrieves her phone from the counter.

As she turned to leave, Axel called out to her, "Can I have your number? It seems the universe is determined to bring us closer."

Still cautious, She hesitated before finally giving him her number. "I'm Jayla, by the way," she says, realizing she hadn't introduced herself before.

"Nice to meet you," Axel replied, extending his hand before turning to head back to his job.

As Jayla walked away, her mind raced with thoughts of their encounter, imagining what might come next.

Just then, Jade appears beside her. "Jayla, I'm done shopping. Can we go now?" she asks, snapping Jayla back to reality.

Trying to conceal her excitement Jayla thought to herself, Let me get to know him before I tell her everything.

They exited the mall, to head home.

Getting into the car, Jade notices Jayla's unusual reaction but doesn't say anything, knowing her sister will spill the beans eventually.

Back at the mall, Axel finishes his shift and gets into a cab to head home, Jayla still on his mind, knowing fully well that he has caught another with his charms and good looks and this was just the beginning.

Finally, they arrive home, and Jade calls out, "We're home," but no one answers. "No one's home," they both murmur.

Jayla goes into her room to start typing around on her phone, still mentally shaken from what happened in the mall.

An onset of heat suddenly flushed her.

As Axel arrives home, he messages Jayla. With the buzzing, Jayla is so startled that she squints on herself. "Oh, fuck!" she murmurs, half embarrassed and half amused.

"Look what this guy made me do to myself," a smile tugged at her lips as she read his chat.

They quickly fell into an easy conversation, words flowing naturally between them.

Hours passed before Axel noticed the time; he swore to himself, knowing he hadn't washed off his face. "Good night Jayla," he typed, logging off for the night.

Jayla feels a surge of elation and excitement as she absent-mindedly touches her breast, thoughts of Axel lingering.

Meanwhile, Axel stood up as he was caught by the sound outside his door.

Knock knock. "Baby, I'm home." the voice called out.

A wave of panic washes over him, as his body becomes tensed, beads of sweat oozing onto his brow.

Chapter 2 CHAP .2

He hastily undresses, his hands shaking as he fumbles with his buttons and zippers, his chest heaves with ragged breaths, and sweat glistens on his forehead, trickling down his temples in tiny rivulets, as he rushes inside the bathroom.

He stands in front of the mirror, stroking off his makeup, revealing his real face; a sly grin spread across his lips.

He turns on the shower, letting the water cascade over his body, erasing any remnants. He wraps himself in a bathrobe leaving no trace of what had transpired.

He opens the door and she instantly wraps her arms around him, their lips meeting in a hot steamy kiss.

"Baby, what took you so long?" I've been knocking for a while now she says, her voice laced with a playful, impatient tone.

He replies, a beam flashing across his face, "I just got back from work and decided to take a quick shower."

She pulls him closer, her breath warm against his ear as she whispers, "You didn't wait for me," her hands roaming over his body, teasingly close to his groin.

With a growl, he grabs her, pushing her onto the bed slowly; he undoes her clothes, his hands gliding under her panties. She moans softly. "Please don't stop. I want more".

He sneers, his voice a low command, "Say my name."

She gasps, "My fiancé..."

"Not that," he murmurs, beginning to pull away, but she grabs him, forcefully pulling him back.

"My sexy beast," she breathes, "my sexy beast."

"Say it louder," he demands in a soft tone, his hands already deep within her. He takes off his robe, kissing her neck passionately as he enters her.

Suddenly, his phone rings.

"Fuck," he curses under his breath, annoyed. Reluctantly, he shifts her panties back into place, covers her, and ties his bathrobe before picking up the call.

"Hey, Brock," the voice on the other end says.

"Hey, Liam," he replies, his voice strained with lingering frustration

Guess what Liam says, a hint of mischief, Axel retorts, a playful edge in his voice.

"I'm not in the mood for guessing." He glances at his woman who is now looking at him with a mix of curiosity Sorry just a moment he says holding the phone to his ear Liam could sense a hint of frustration in his tone feeling a bit guilty- he quickly apologize, sorry man if I interrupted any of your quality time but I just got two tickets to Elysium Arts Gallery the most expensive art gallery in town Axel's mood shifted instantly.

"What?" he exclaimed, feeling his interest piqued, that's the most exclusive art gallery- invitation only! How did you manage that?

Liam grinned pleased with himself remember the guy I told you my sister is dating: turns out her boyfriend is Mr. William's cousin The guy whose father owns the Art gallery she pulled some strings, and voila, I got an invitation since you're one of my oldest friends and my buddy I'd love for you to join me I would have invited Audrey too but I only got two tickets Axel grin widened, "No problem I understand".

He hung up, his cheeks still stretched in a grin. Audrey, watching him closely, waited for a sign that Axel might be upset. However, his expression made it clear the call had been good news.

As Axel settled into the bed, he filled her in on the conversation. "What? That's amazing!" Audrey exclaimed, meditating her excitement quickly followed by a teasing pout; but what about my ticket? She asked, her face turning a little gloomy.

Axel sighed softly, pulling her close baby. You know I would love to take you. I know how much you've always wanted to go. But he only got two tickets and he's giving me the other one.

He kissed her gently, adding in a soft tone, please don't be upset. Audrey chuckled playfully, elbowing him. No, I'm not angry, she reassured him. They both settled down, drifting off to sleep.

The next morning, Jayla woke up feeling refreshed and excited. As she stretched, her phone flickering in the rays of the morning sun, Axel's name stared at her, and her heart skipped a beat. "Good morning, Jayla," the message read. "Want to grab some coffee?"

Her heart raced with excitement as she typed back, trying to sound casual; sure, when and where? Axel suggested a downtown coffee shop, and she agreed.

As she got ready for their meeting she couldn't help but feel a flutter of nerves... Is this a date?

She found herself thinking she didn't care she was just thrilled to see him again but what if she tripped and spilled coffee all over him or worse, what if we had nothing to talk about After her thoughts lingered in her mind Jayla took a deep breath smoothing her dress and gathering all her stuff she gave one look at her cozy bedroom just to make sure all is in order; and heads out to meet Axel.

She had been looking forward to this moment all day the time came as she stepped out into the bustling streets the city was alive and Jayla could feel its every buzzing in her veins she moved with a sense of determination, her feet carrying her down towards the downtown coffee shop when Axel awaits her finally she turns a corner and Jayla arrive at the cozy coffee shop her heart racing with excitement!

She scanned the room and saw Axel's charming smile as he was flirtatious and waved her over.

Her feet moved effortlessly towards him, her senses heightened as she took in the aroma of freshly brewed coffee, and the soft hum of Jazz music in the background she felt her heart flutter in her chest as Axel rose to his feet for her, his eyes crinkling at the corners of.

Hi Jayla, he said, his deep voice sending shivers down her spine. "You look stunning today." Jayla's cheeks flushed at the sight of Axel's good-looking features: his dark hair was perfectly messy, and his eyes sparkled with warmth.

As they sat, she couldn't help but note how the soft light danced across his features, highlighting his sharp jaw and full lips. A skitter of nerves swirled in her tummy, but Axel's easy smile set her at ease.

The coffee shop was bustling with activity, yet the table they sat near the window felt intimate, surrounded by the gentle bustle of conversation and the clinking of cups. Axel ordered for them, Musing over their lattes, Axel leaned in and gently brushed a stray strand of hair behind Jayla's ear, his finger grazing her skin and sending shivers down her spine.

The touch was electric and Jayla's pulse fluttered widely as she met Axel's gaze, his burning with a soft, smoldering intensity. In no time they were sipping their lattes rich in flavor and creamy texture, a perfect complement to their conversation.

As they talked, Jayla couldn't help but get swept up in Axel's eyes. The way they sparkled with amusement, the way they crinkled at the corners when he smiled, it was like she was drowning in their depths.

She felt like she was seeing glimpses of a secret world, one that only revealed itself when he laughed or smiled. The world around them melted away, leaving only two of them, suspended in a moment of connection.

The background noise of the coffee shop faded into the distance and all Jayla could hear was Axel's low, smooth croon casting a spell around her. She felt herself leaning in , drawn into warmth radiated from his body.

Time stood still as they sipped their coffee, the world slowing to a gentle crawl. In that moment, Jade knew she was irretrievably smitten.

As they finished their lattes, Axel reached out, his fingers wrapping around hers in a soft, caressing touch. "Thanks for today, Axel," she said, her heartbeat still racing from their encounter.

Axel leaned over, his lips grazing her cheek. "Anytime, Jayla. Take care." Jayla smiled but knew she needed to get home, and the reluctance in her was so real. "I need to get going," she said with an edge of sadness in her voice.

"I'll walk you out," he suggested, and as their palms brushed, she felt an arc of electricity. They walked out of the coffee shop into the evening air-the smell of flowers still blooming in the air.

Jayla watched as Axel vanished into the crowd, her heart still fluttering. She went home, lost in thought.

As soon as she enters the apartment, she places her bag near the door. She walks directly into the kitchen to grab a glass of water.

Suddenly, an excited scream erupts from the living room. "Ahh!"Startled, Jayla and Jasmine rushes in, their hearts pounding and eyes widening as they turn and see.

Chapter 3 CHAP. 3

"Jade let out a scream that reverberated through the house, her face radiating pure joy.

'What happened?' Jasmine asked, her eyes wide with curiosity. "I just got an invitation from Elysium Arts Gallery, the one I've been longing for,'Jade replied, her voice quivering with excitement."

"Oh my God, Jade, that's incredible!" Jasmine exclaimed, rushing over to hug her. Congratulations, my baby! I knew you could do it. Jayla chimed in, her smile warm. So, what are you going to wear to the event?

Jade's cheeks flushed happily. I haven't decided yet, probably the top I bought at Louis Vuitton when we went shopping," she replied, her heart brimming with gratitude. She felt so blessed to have sisters who were always there for her, lifting her with so much love and support.

As Jayla walked upstairs, her mind still buzzing with excitement about a coffee date with Axel, Jasmine's gaze followed her, noticing how springy her steps had been lately and how often she smiled these days.

"Hey Jayla," She exclaims, is everything okay? Her eyes narrow slightly, you've been smiling a lot these days, almost lost in your world, Have you met someone special? Her gaze lingers as If waiting for a crack in the facade to reveal what's going on inside.

Jayla chuckled her thought drifting to Axel I'm still getting to know him sister when the time is right, "I'll let you know" Jasmine nodded, her eyes softening with understanding Alright take your time dear No rush Jade who was still ecstatic over her invitation to Elysium Arts Gallery started singing teasingly Jayla in love! Who's the lucky guy? She begins to do a little silly dance, her laughter infectious in the room.

Days turned into weeks, and Jayla and Axel's online discussion grew deeper. Stories, laughter, and dreams were shared; day after day, Jayla also felt like she had known Axel forever.

Jade wakes up to the sound of birds melodiously chirping outside her window as she stretches on her bed, She felt the softness of the sheet beside her skin, the warmth of the sun spilling through the curtain as she got dressed and headed downstairs into the kitchen for her morning coffee.

As she waited for the brew to finish, her phone buzzed signaling a notification for Elysium Arts Gallery, an art gallery she had been dying for.

Today's the day Jade whispered out loud, feeling a surge of excitement coursing through her. She grabs her bag and makes her way out the door, her heart racing with anticipation.

As Jade entered Elysium Gallery, color and life surrounded her, for art was predominant there. Its high ceilings with large white walls provided an unobtrusive background to the colorful paintings and sculptures that filled the space.

Soft lighting highlighted each piece, casting gentle shadows that enriched the artwork.

There was a faint scent of fresh paint in the air, mixed with the earthy aroma of old wood, suggesting both history and creativity.

Her eyes moved from one striking work of art to another. Standing in front of them, the boldness of strokes, the finesse of details, and the expression on the canvas left her breathless. Some spoke of love and longing, others depicted chaos and despair.

Each of them seemed to weave a story, and Jade lost her place among the feelings they evoked inside her.

She stood before a really large, abstract painting. Colors swirled together in shades of blues and gold, a stormy sea about to meet a golden shore.

Her breath caught in her throat as the wave of emotion washed over her, some sense of turbulence and yet peace combined, beautiful. She took a moment longer there, letting the painting speak into her soul, feeling she was just where she should be.

Meanwhile, Liam walks in with his friend Axel. Axel's eyes wandered over the space, taking in the grandeur of the gallery. The art, the lighting, the atmosphere-it was different from the places he usually frequented, yet something was calming about it.

Beside him, Axel was equally absorbed, his gaze moving from one piece to the next, his excitement barely contained. "Thanks for the invitation again. I appreciate it," Axel says with a smile crossed through his face, patting Liam on the back. Liam smirked, his eyes catching on a striking sculpture to his left. He wasn't usually one for art galleries, but tonight, he felt a strange pull to explore.

As they moved deeper into the gallery, Axel's gaze drifted toward the large abstract painting, where Jade stood quietly, lost in the piece. Something about her stillness amidst the vibrant chaos of color caught his attention. Without thinking, he found himself walking closer.

As she examined the painting, she heard a voice behind her. That's one of my favorites. Too startled, Jayla turned to find a young man several feet away.

He was dressed casually with an earnest look in his eyes. He gestured toward the painting. "It's called tempest." The artist used a technique called impasto to give the waves such texture.

You can feel the movement can't you? Jayla smiled back, intrigued. "I was trying to figure out what gave it such a dramatic effect. It is amazing how the texture adds to the emotion.

The man nodded his enthusiasm palpable. Exactly the artist want to convey the power of nature and the emotional turmoil it can evoke. It's one of those pieces that makes you stop and think."

Jayla studied the painting again, her appreciation deepening. "I can see that. It's like the painting is alive."

"That's the magic of art," he said with a grin. "It can make you feel something profound, sometimes without you even realizing it."

Their eyes met, and for a moment, the bustling gallery seemed to fade into the background. Jayla felt a connection in their shared admiration for the artwork. "I'm Jayla, by the way."

"Nice to meet you, Jayla. I'm Brock," he said, extending a hand. "It's always nice to find someone who appreciates art."

As they shook hands, Jayla felt the conversation flow effortlessly. They continued discussing various pieces in the gallery, their exchange feeling natural and unforced as if they had known each other longer than just a chance encounter.

She found herself drawn to Brock's easy smile and the passion in his voice as he spoke about art.

They walked slowly through the gallery, stopping once in a while at the painting, then back at Brock. "Well, I actually got an invitation." This place has been on my wishlist for so long. Brock's eyes widened with interest. "An invitation? You must be someone special,"Jade laughed, the sound light and free... "I wish I were; I'm just persistent. I guess persistence is a form of talent, Brock said, his smile warm.

They walked through the gallery for an hour more, their conversation flowing naturally and freely with the colors on the canvas in front of them. Jade found herself losing track of time, captivated not just by the art around her but by the ease of her conversation with Brock.

His presence felt comforting like they were long-lost friends reconnecting. As they neared the end of the gallery tour Brock stopped and turned to her. There's a small cafe around the corner. Would you like to get a coffee and continue our conversation?

Jade hesitated for a moment, her mind drifting to her sisters and the story she would share with them later. But there is something about Brock's energy that made her want to say yes. "I'd love that," she finally replied.

Meanwhile, back at the house, Jayla was wrapped up in her world.

The room was quiet as she sat lost in her favorite book, lost in a realm of imagination and dreams afar. The sun was setting, casting long shadows that crept slowly across the floor. She didn't notice the time slipping away, nor the silence settling deeper around her.

Suddenly, a sharp knock broke the silence echoing through the walls. Jayla jumped, her heart racing as she looked toward the door; for a moment, she stood frozen, the hairs on the back of her neck prickling as she waited, unsure of what or who might come next.
