Chapter 1

(She's not dumb)

She sat around the dinning table with a baby bowl of cereal and a glass cup of milk along with a jug of water. She kept laughing at their jokes, at least they aren't making her day bored perhaps unhappy. She fed them according with a bright smile on her face.

"Get me the napkin Anaya" she said, trying to wipe Ariel lips which was full with cereal. Anaya stood up and brought the napkin from the end of dinning table and hand it over to her.

"My teacher is celebrating her birthday today" Ariel said Daphne fake a gasp just trying to show some funny faces.

"Today is your teacher's birthday" Daphne gasped and smiled "so what are you going to give your teacher" she asked.

"I'm giving her a painting, I drew her in my drawing book. She looks pretty" Ariel smiled and gulped down a cup of water.

"Is she pretty than your mom" Daphne asked, despite knowing how ugly her reply would be.

"Pretty my foot, She's prettier than my mom. Mom's always horrible with her make-up's " Ariel scoffed rolling her eyes. Anaya burst into a round of laughter Daphne wasn't left out.

"Table Manners" Daphne said reminding, them and they nodded moving back their gaze to their food.

She fed them slowly and accordingly. Checking out their dresses in case of any mistake but she found none.

"Go and get your school bags" she said and left to carry their lunch boxes that was on the kitchen cabinets.

They rushed back to the living room with their bags. Daphne went to the TV and switch it off. Her smile fade away when she saw her coming down the stairs. No one else apart from the building devil.

"You must not go and pick them late" Laura said. Daphne moved closer to her sisters and took their hands.

"As if I do pick them late. " She replied with a frown.

"Watch your rotten lips" Laura yelled.

"Enough!. Wait hold, who do you think you are to walk out on me ?" Laura rasped and Daphne scoffed.

"Who are you precisely ?" Daphne summon courage.

*It's high time you show her you aren't the old fragile girl anymore* her inner mind uttered.

"Are you really talking back to me" Laura asked with a widened expression on her face.

"Enough of your bullshit, I think it's high time I set up a new principles because of inhuman like you. I can't withstand your maltreatment towards me. It's better you stay within your boundary and don't cross it" Daphne uttered with a gritted teeth.

"Come on let's go Anaya, we can't be late" Daphne said with a soft smile that curve up her lips and took her sisters hand.

"Did she talk back at me. Like is this real" Laura shuttered, staring at the exit she took.

Daphne cross the road along with some other kids who are with their parents perhaps guardian's. They stopped walking when they got to the gate. Daphne crouched down to their level and smiled as she pull their cheeks softly.

"We are here now" Daphne said and smiled.

"Won't you give us a safety peck on the cheek and missing kiss on our foreheads. " Ariel asked.

"Always the talkative type" Daphne thought and pulled her cheek slowly and planted a peck on it.

"Do for Anaya too" Ariel said which made her to chuckled. Anaya brought her face forward...

"So won't you give sis a kiss" Daphne asked. Anaya and Ariel chuckled and ran far away from her. Now they are inside their school compound.

"We are not going to kiss you" Ariel screamed and Anaya smiled with a wave. She bid Daphne good bye.

"I love you two " Daphne screamed and bid them good bye. They turned around and walked deeper into the school compound. Daphne make sure she watched them until see couldn't see their back view.

She stood at the bus stop waiting for a Subway bus to pass by when her phone rang out. She smiled immediately but it didn't last long, it was replaced with a scoffed followed with a long eye roll.

"Hello" the voice said from the background.

"Amy" Daphne called almost close to tears.

"Guess what Daphne" Amy said with a loud voice.

"I can't guess anything right now. I did what you told me to do with my step mom and it actually worked, she was shocked. To be sincere I was shaking in my mind. I was praying and hoping she won't hit me on the face but it was otherwise, she was shocked, like really shocked." Daphne said with happiness visible on her face.

"I told you it work out, you need to keep to show the real you. It's high time you add more words to your day life principles" Amy uttered and exhale. " I'm back from Brazil Daphne.." Amy said and she scoffed.

"I'm not in the mood for your pranks Amy, you told me you were back yesterday night but you weren't and now that same prank. You do you even love for legs" Daphne rasped loudly which was making Amy to laugh heavily on the other side.

"I'm serious Daphne I'm back, it's a surprise visit. Believe me, it's just a surprise visit" Amy said.

"Enough of it. To be sincere it's not funny, have been waiting for you to come back for five years. You kept pranking me since last year about your return. But you never return, see Amy. We gonna talk later" Daphne said and end the call.

"She's always ruining my mood with her surprise visit or whatever" Daphne muttered angrily, tucking her hair behind her ears.

A hand sudden touched her, she recognized the scent instantly and turned around. She nearly faint upon seeing who she have being dying to see. She lost the train of her thoughts...

"Amy" she shuttered.

"Amy!!!" She screamed out of blue and ran into her warm embrace.

The blood splashed on the wall brutally. A loud thud and gun shot could be heard as well. Lucas stood behind him as he hit the last person sitting..

"I'm sorry" the guy pleaded with a swollen lips..

"Where is Logan?" Emerson asked clenching his teeth.

"I swear I don't know who goes by that name, I'm just carrying out orders" the guy said, looking pitiful.

Emerson nodded and point the gun to his forehead.

"How nice will it to greet everyone for" Emerson said and shut him in the head. He picked up his gun and left the wear house. Actually, it wasn't a warehouse but one will think it is main looking at it from the outside.

Lucas shook his head and signalled the boys to clean up the whole mess.

"What took you so long ?" Emerson asked immediately Lucas sat inside the car.

"Directing the guys on how to clean up the whole mess." He replied but got no response.

( *No dialogue* *just silence*)

His phone chimed and he took it out to take a look. His mood changed immediately...

"Can you believe this" Emerson uttered with a scoffed, Showing Lucas his phone.

"Logan did this" Lucas asked..

"Taking innocent kids as hostage. And he thinks I'm going to fall for that. Kids my foot. " Emerson uttered, putting back his cell phone in his pocket.

"Won't you save this innocent kids" Lucas asked.

"Do I look like I care. Logan is senseless for acting stupidly" Emerson muttered, facing his window.

Lucas look away with a worried face.

"Those innocent school kids know nothing about this bullshit" Lucas thought and signed deeply.

Chapter 2

Amy and Daphne sat down on the bench and the breeze keep flinging their hair side to side.. They sat down and watch how the waves from the beach that was moving continuously. The view alone was pleasing to the core. Daphne turned to look at Amy and speak up.

"When did you come back from Brazil ?" Daphne asked.

"Few hours ago"

"You aren't home yet ?" She asked.

"Yeah, I knew you would be at Anaya's school." Amy replied.

"Oh I was. Those kids" Daphne chuckled.

"How's your step mom" Amy asked.

"She's always horrible, she's still the same. I stood up against her today. She was shocked because she wasn't expecting it. " Daphne scoffed, arranging the bracelet around her wrist.

"That's nice and courageous. By now she will have know her place" Amy said staring at Daphne's bracelet.

"You finally have your mom's bracelet and the waist bead" Amy asked with a charming smile at the corner of her lips.

"Yes. Dad gave it to me when Olivia went missing. I just hope she's fine." Daphne sighed deeply with a heavy heart...

"We will search for her since we are two now,

Someone suddenly pulled her hand. Her eyes were fixed on her bracelet.

"Where did you get this ?" The lady suddenly asked.

Daphne jacked off her hand from hers immediately.

"You should not pull strangers like that. Daphne scolded, " And why should I tell you where I get them from" Daphne scoffed with a hand akimbo.

"She's not a lady, she looked old enough to be a mom" Amy whispered in her ears which made her to roll her eyeballs away. .

"Just because she wasn't to see me doesn't mean that she should just pull my hands just like that" Daphne scoffed.

"I'm sorry, she apologized and continued "I'm just curious of how you get the bracelet on your wrist." The woman asked.

"I got it is private. But seeing how desperate you want to know how I got them shows you are f*cking serious." Daphne fake a gasped.

"I'm truly sorry if I interrupt something important, I only saw the reflection of it afar, that's why I came closer to check it out." The woman said.

"Oh! I'm sorry for being rude, but I got this from my late mom, but my dad gave it to me when my elder sister went missing" Daphne explained with a sad mood..

"Danielle is late" the woman shuttered. Her shocking face was visible enough to make the two wonder what's going on.

"Did you know my mom ?" Daphne asked worriedly. The woman lips trembled, her legs could be seen as it kept moving backwards. She turning around and ran away before Daphne could even think of stopping her. Yet still Daphne and Amy ran after her but they couldn't meet up with her.

"She's really skilled" Daphne said in between her heavy breath.

"How did she picked her heels despite been quite aged. She's really strong" Any said breathing heavily.

"How did she know about my mom and this bracelet" Daphne suddenly thought and halt.

"I was also wondering how she got the know your mom" Amy asked.

Daphne phone buzz loudly which diverted their attention.

"Why are Anaya's school authority calling me ?" Daphne said aloud.

"At least pick up. It might be a notice, Because I know Anaya and Ariel aren't troublesome kids" Amy said. Daphne nodded and picked it up instantly Amy talked.

"Hello" she said.

"Miss Remington" the voice said.

"Hello sir, Good Morning." She greeted and paused. "Hope there isn't something wrong with Anaya and Ariel" Daphne asked worriedly.

"We actually want to inform you that we would like to see you in the school premises" the voice said. .

"We can just say it on phone, I'm curious of how my kiddo's are faring." Daphne said almost sweating from her head. In fact she was sweating already.

"We personally want to discuss this with you one on one and have more details on the issue with you" the female voice explained. Daphne signed deeply and replied with "okay" and the call instantly.

"That's Anaya and Ariel school authority" Amy asked and she nodded.

"Why did they suddenly want to see you ??" Amy asked.

"I'm still wondering also, because I dropped them at school today" Daphne said tying her shoe laces.

"Are they insisting on seeing you" Amy asked...

"Yes. I need to go" Daphne rushed her words and adjusted her clothes.

"You aren't different from being a mom. Taking care of someone's kids is really stressful.

"They are someone's kids but they are my sister" she snapped.

Amy chuckled "she's over protective of them. How are wished her step mom can at least be nice to her just like her two beautiful daughters." Amy thought and clear her throat.

"I will take you" Amy said and Daphne eyes widened a bit. "I brought my car with me" Amy chuckled.

"You brought a car" Daphne shuttered.

"Come on babe. We need to see those idiots" Amy smiled and pulled her arm quickly as the ran to get her car..

"I want you keep an eye on Daphne Remington" the woman said to the guy that was sitting at the driver's seat.

"At your service boss"

"At least if can't protect you Danielle I will protect Daphne" She said and pick up her phone.

"Is Olivia still in the clan" she asked.

"Yes, I was told she's perfect now" the replied.

"I just hope Olivia realize that she's making a big mistake in life. Joining the SON'S FAMILY Clan is another step into life and death challenges. " The woman said.

"But it's only like that whenever they are aren't following the rules" The guy at the driver's seat said.

"It's still a death sentence for Olivia most especially girls" she scoffed, signaling the guy to hit the acceleration.

"Where should we head to ?" He asked.

"We are going home of course" she replied looking out through the window.

Lucas came out of the car same with Emerson who wasn't bothered by the message Logan sent to him. On like Lucas, it was visible enough for people to know how worried he was about something.

They walked side by side as they head towards his suite. Lucas on the other hand won't stop glancing at him in every step they take.

"Won't he save them" Lucas thought worriedly.

"Have told you several times not to make your emotions visible, it will be use against you if you aren't careful enough. Emotions are also weakness" Emerson uttered, opening his lighter continuously. Actually, the sound from it gives him uncertain pleasure..

"At least save those kids and deal with Logan later" Lucas muttered, clenching his teeth.

"Have told you I don't give a damn about kids" he snapped at him, trying to cool his anger.

"I know you don't give a damn about kids but I do--

"Suit yourself then" Emerson scoffed.

"Welcome boss" everyone greeted immediately they stepped foot into the main compound.

"Welcome boss" someone greeted him personally.

"How are the goods Olivia ?" Emerson asked and she bow instantly.

"It's placed at the right place" she replied and bow as she pave way for him.

He smirked and picked up his loaded guns and whip. Having his hand on the handle of the door, he opened the door and popped his head out. The cool breeze from the beach hit his face. The door he opened led him to the outta part of the Clan. He's outside the Clan but at the backyard of it.

He adjusted his hoodie and hopped into the black a Roll Royce that was packed in front of a tall tree. He ignited the car and raced out of the street. His car puff out dust into the air.

"You ought to be kidding me" Daphne yelled at the female authority with range.

"We are sorry miss. We are trying our best here. Because the kidnappers didn't take your kids alone but other teachers and young students along.

"This is not my first time complaining about the school security. "We have done what you parents want during PTA meetings. Yet this is the result" A rude teacher interrupt her words. Instead of keeping calm and cool. Daphne anger grew the more to the extent that she pulled the teacher's hair angrily.

"Get this into head. Those two golden diamonds aren't my kids but I brought them up I watch them grow up. I enrolled them in the school of their choice. They are my flesh and blood, I loved them more than anything. " Daphne muttered angrily and whispered her last words into the lady's ear.

"It's painful you didn't get to give birth perhaps see how kids grew up, so you can't know how I'm feeling" Daphne muttered and release her hair gently.

The lady wished the ground could just open and swallow her up instantly. Because visible tears could be seen at the corner of her eyes.

Amy chuckled at her bravery.

"You did well" she whispered.

"I was fucking scared like shit. I thought she gonna tear me into thousands pieces " Daphne said breathing heavily.

"Have they call for ransom" another parent asked worriedly.

"No they haven't" The female staff replied, staring at the principal for more information.

Daphne signed deeply and held her head.

"What are you going to tell your step mom" Amy asked as she take a seat beside her.

"I don't know what to say and how to explain this to her"

"You just have to explain it to her. At least you dropped them off and they got kidnapped. I will talk to her if you aren't ready to face her" Amy said picking up her phone.

"Calling her is pointless. She does not pick my calls whenever I call her" Daphne uttered leaning on the wall as she sat down with a heavy heart. Yet still Amy was determined to give it a try.

"She's not picking up" she mumbled and rolled her eyes.

"She thinks she's smart" Amy chuckled and picked up her phone and dialed her line on her phone.

Not up to ten seconds the call was picked.

"Hello"

"The idiot picked" Amy whispered, covering the speaker of her phone.

"Wassup Laura" Amy said and rolled her eyes..

"Who's this?" She asked rudely.

"She's always rude" Daphne thought as she kept staring into the space.

"I just want to inform you that your kids Anaya and Ariel have been held hostage by kidnappers and to be honest." Any said and paused. To Daphne, she thought Amy would have end the call not until she heard her voice again.

" I'm gonna put it in a sincerely way. Daphne Remington dropped them off, so in short, the school authority are responsible for their disappearance " Amy said waiting for her response.

"What ??" She screamed Loudly enough for Daphne to chuckled and Amy had her ears covered.

"Those useless security and authorities. They will rot ---

Amy end the call and she shook her head. She (Daphne) heaved a sigh and stared into the space.

"I got an idea" A parent suddenly said and stood up.

"The kidnappers haven't called to demand for ransom ??" she asked and the female authority nodded positively to her question.

"My son's school bag got a tracker and his snickers got a record clip. My husband brought those for him because of his job. Actually he's involved in a mob activities and got those things for him in case of situations like this perhaps emergencies that happened to be related to his job. So now, I have to go back home and get the tablet that was linked to those, and boom!! The lady paused leaving everyone in a tense state.

"We will save our kids. Right!!" Daphne end her words.

"Yes, we gonna save them ourselves" The lady smiled waiting for the principal's response to her idea..

"We can't get involved in this, this people got weapons. Is like you guys aren't getting our words, we are trying to protect --

"Protection my foot, where were you when our kids got kidnapped ?. Where was your useless securities and trash able guards when they got abducted??" Daphne muttered, holding the lady's hand.

"I'm ready to risk my life for my sisters, I'm ready to do anything. Can you go and get the tablet" Daphne pleaded.

A loud gunshot was heard and everyone panicked...

"What was that ?" The principal asked no one in particular.

"I think they are back" Daphne said aloud. One of the parents ran to lock the doors and windows. The principal was calling each class Teacher's to have their classroom locked including the windows.

Daphne and Amy locked their hands together while other parents were calling 911 for help.
