Endless Trials: Before The Birth Of The Baby

"Hey! What the hell are you doing?!"

I heard a deep voice that frightened the life out of me. I was shaking and perspiring seriously, though I didn't really know why...but I guess it was because of the sound of the voice.

That voice was strong and it did not give room for delay. Though I was used to shouts and screams but on that day, I experienced a greater force!

I knew I would probably face my end on that day. I didn't let it bother me too much as I slowly stood up with the magazine I was holding in my hand.

"I..I...I"

I stuttered. I turned around slowly and looked at the person who spoke with such a dominant voice.

There he was! I was completely stunned. There stood a fine male god, with a finger licking body, tall and manly in every angle. A smooth fair skin, straight black silky short hair, blue eyes, a baby face and "God!", his skin was so milky,"a real Adonis!".

I was lost in my own world, drooling at the man in front of me.

I wasn't one who did that anyway but that day was totally different. It was like I was charmed.

"He was like an angel that was sent by God to inspect earth"

While still entranced, I heard another thunderous sound from him, awakening me immediately.

"What the bloody hell are you doing and who gave you the right to touch that in your hand?!"

I looked at him, trying to pick up words but it was as if the cat got my tongue. His face didn't look like one who could speak like that, but sadly, it was coming from the same person. I had no choice but to speak. What else could I do?

"Si...sir, I...umm...I'm sorry, I wasn't planning on taking it. I found it on the ground and I just picked it up when you screamed out"

I was stammering.

"What?! Screamed out?! He barked at me.

"Are you crazy?! How dare you talk back at me like that?!!"

"You dare take my magazine and you stand there talking nonsense?!"

"Who the hell do you think you are?!!"

He was fuming and I could sense, he was a dangerous person to cross part with. After a few seconds of silence, I gathered up courage and spoke to him.

"Sir, I did not want to take the magazine like I said before. I wanted to pick it up and then place it on the bench right there. I have no use for it"

There was a bench close to an electric pole beside a luxurious car that turned out to be his.

He looked at me with disgust and I literally saw black smoke coming out from his ears. His face was so dark, without any emotions"at all". I started fidgeting.

"You are g..."

He wanted to strike again but was cut short by someone behind him, who screamed my name and I saw him get even more angry. I noticed the voice that instant. It was none other than my sister "Chen Hualing".

"Chen Lijuan...!!"

"You...!"

I searched everywhere in the shopping mall across my street, trying to find my stupid sister. We went there with a shopping list in my hand for a few items for my father at the hospital. He was hospitalized the previous night because he was stressed. "So they said"

We haven't even finished shopping, but now, I couldn't find her.

I was having a headache already and was angry at her. Just waiting to see her, then extinguish my anger on her.

"You just wait till I find you and you will get it from me!"

Since I couldn't find her inside, I decided to go and look for her outside because it was getting late already. Staying out late was something my father hated more than anything. I didn't know what she was doing, or maybe she was sleeping somewhere again. She always did that whenever she had the chance to.

When I stepped out of the shopping mall, I looked sideways and then I saw my sister not too far away. Standing and talking with a "man". I could not hold back my rage, seeing that she was right there, comfortably talking with a man. That alone made me run mad. I couldn't stop thinking of ways to get back at her.

I immediately walked down to them without wasting any more time, waiting to pull my sister's ear. How dare she!

"I was here looking for her and she was there conversing with a''man ``! Ok, you just wait! You will surely get it this time!!"

After getting close enough, with anger, I screamed her name and she moved her body to the other side to get a better view of the person who called out her name, because the man standing there was obstructing her view. I could not stop admiring the fine man's back and I wondered what his front would be like. For a minute there, I lost myself but I did not waste any time in "fixing up" real quick! I got more angry because my sister was with such a man. How could she have such rare luck?!

I refused to accept it.

I heard my name and after confirming it was my sister, I got really scared because I knew she was going to do something really bad to me. I was always scared of my sister because she was always having this strong hatred for me. It made me think that I was adopted, "so I thought" and funny enough, it wasn't just her, but my father and mother too.

She came to me and pulled my ear, shouting and hitting me everywhere. I became really hot and my face flushed with embarrassment.

"Is something wrong with you?"

She spat hurtful words at me while dragging me along with her. I was so, so afraid of what would come next. Knowing how wicked my sister could be, I knew I would be roasted alive at home. While I was preparing for my own death, she spoke the big word before marching home.

"Let's go home!"

Chen Lijuan"....."

My sister was still attacking me and it was hurting me but I couldn't get free from her hold. I glanced at the good looking man one last time and I saw another man opening the door of his car for him. He was wearing a non crease black suit, tall and well built.

I guessed he would be the driver of that supposed rich man.

The door of his luxurious car was closed and the other man handed the magazine to him after wiping it with a clean handkerchief. Probably told to do so by that emotionless man.

Mere looking at him, one could tell he was no ordinary person and I was kind of lucky he did not take the matter too far. "It would have been the death of me.

On our way home, I could not stop panicking because I knew that the punishment that day would be worse than others.

Seeing me standing with a man and knowing that we were supposed to be shipped...

After reaching home, my sister immediately pushed me inside the house and slammed the door. Before I could get hold of myself, she gave me a deafening slap on my cheek.

I winced and subconsciously took a step backward while massaging my cheek. It felt like burning coal.

I started crying because I knew the amount of pain she was capable of inflicting on me.

"Lijuan!!"

She screamed at me and I was shaking with great fear in my heart.

"Do you know how long I waited and searched for you?!

I searched everywhere for you in that huge shopping mall and tired my fragile body out because of a useless dumb, brainless head like you!!"

"I...I am so sorry sister, I was in the wrong. I won't do it again, please forgive me" I started begging her because, that was the only way to avoid more torture from her.

"Oh...so you know you are wrong, yeah? And you are being a b*tch in front of me?! So, your new style is to go about telling people that we don't care for you by moving around with men with that..."face of yours!" You are so two faced f**king b*tch!!"

Chen Hualing was so angry and I just stood there, in front of her crying and was disturbed.

"You are going out getting money from men now, by sleeping with them! No wonder you always stayed longer than the usual time when sent on an errand outside"

"I see you don't want to live in peace in this house! Always causing trouble for everyone and now the final point is for you to start sleeping around, huh...?!"

Her tone was harsh and each word that came out of her mouth was heart wrecking.

"You just wait until mother and father return tomorrow and see what will happen to you!!"

She said to me in a very high tone and I was overwhelmed with fear.
