"But then, I need to be a slave again because of Carol," she said with a worried voice.

"Why am I so ugly?!" she shouted.

Callista Santiago is a second year high school student at Calviar National High School. Her name means beautiful but she doesn't believe that she is beautiful because of the scar on her face. Callista is from a poor family and she is taking a part time job to support their financial assistance at a young age. She hides her scar using a mask. She may be a top student in her class but she is a victim of bullying in her school for being ugly and a monster. Also, she had no friends.

At school, Carol pulled Callista's hair. She rolled her eyes and sit to the desk

"Hey ugly! buy us food and drinks, we're so hungry." she said.

Carol is very beautiful in the school. Many students call her goddess and has an angelic face with a devilish attitude. However, many students want to date her.

"O...okay, where...is your money?" she stuttered said.

"Hey! Listen up ugly. You will be the one who will pay for our food okay? Since you are top again then treat us or you want us to hit you again?" irritable she said.

"Ahahaha...ahahaha...okay, don't worry it's on me Just wait I'll buy '' Callista sarcastically said.

Callista left and Carol, together with her three bully friends, waited for Callista. However, Callista left her bag. Carol saw Callista's bag and they started to inspect Callista's bag without her consent. Carol saw a notebook that looked interesting and she started to read it. Carol and her friends laughed when they found out that Callista's crush was Luke. Then, they plan to make Callista suffer.

After 15 minutes, Callista gave them their food and Carol left.

Callista decided to go to the field where he could see Luke. Luke was a football player. He was very popular with other girls. Also, he is Callista's ideal man. She saw Luke playing football. Callista cannot control herself when she sees Luke. Callista sits on the bench near the players and watches the game. Luke saw Callista watching him and smiled at her. After the game, he saw Callista walking away. Luke ran and called Callista.

He has a muscline body and baby face. He has dimples to make girls fall in love with him.

"Hey, wearing a cute mask," he shouted.

Luke doesn't know her name. Callista was shocked because he called him.

"M...me?" panic said. Callista doesn't know what to do because Luke is coming to her.

"Yes, you have long brown hair with a mystery mask. May I know your name?" Luke breathlessly said.

"I'm Callista... Callista Santiago from Section A second year..." Callista stuttered answered.

"I always saw you whenever we were playing football. Looks like we can be close. I mean friends like that. I'm Luke Sebastian from Section B second year too. Nice to meet you" he said and smiled at her. He offered his hand to shake hands.

Callista holds his hand and shakes hands. Luke offered that they be friends and Callista agreed. She's so happy and wants to hug Luke. Meanwhile, Carol and her friends saw Callista and Luke talking to each other. Her friends are murmuring that Callista's ambition is too much. Carol left with an evil grin.

Luke and Callista become friends and they are always bonding to watch football games. Carol saw that ugly monsters are learning to smile now. Carol wants to destroy Callista. She doesn't want to see Callista happy that is why she starts her evil plan. Luke and Callista are talking on the phone. They were talking about football stuff until Callista lost signal.

"Callista, you, you are my friend. There is a girl that I want to be my girlfriend, she is... I want to confess..." Callista doesn't understand Luke. But still talking.

"Wait Luke I don't under-" Callista panic said.

" I...I love you..." Luke disappeared.

After a few minutes, Luke texted her that he's phone is low battery and needs to charge. Callista was very shocked and she shouted that Luke loved her. Another day, Luke called Callista. She tried to be calm because she was so happy that she thought Luke had feelings for her. Callista was not paying attention to what Luke said.

"What gift do you think of for tomorrow?" Luke sincerely asked.

"Gift? you mean you're giving a gift?" Callista excitedly asked.

"Yes," Luke answered.

"Really? I think necklace" she giggled.

Callista thought that it was for her. Callista is very excited because his ideal man will confess to her. After her part time, she decided to buy shoes for Luke.

At home before she sleeps, she looks at the mirror and touches her scar. She can't believe that she can be loved by someone. She is very excited.

The day of the confession. Callista saw Luke walking. She secretly followed Luke and she was shocked by what she saw. It was Luke holding the necklace box and a girl.

"Please accept me to be your boyfriend," Luke sincerely said to the girl.

Callista becomes curious and decides to stand in the wall and hear who that girl is.

"I like you. It was love at first sight and I know it's crazy but I'm serious" sincere said sincerely.

Callista was confused.

"You know I like you too but I thought you like Callista as your girlfriend. I thought you liked her." the girl sarcastically said.

When Callista became more curious she peeked in the door and she saw the girl.

"No Carol, actually... I'm using her to get to know you more. I know you hate her." he stuttered said.

Callista doesn't know what to do. She even thought that it was her. She thought that Luke loved her, not Carol. She started to cry and look at the gift for Luke. She regrets it. However, she is still listening.

"So, if I want you to make her suffer, you will do it?" she seriously asked.

" Yes, of course. I don't care about that dumb girl with mask" Luke answered and giggled.

Carol and Luke walked in on each other and started to. Callista hears all the conversation and she suddenly drops the box of shoes.

Luke saw Callista crying and Carol smiled.

"Callista," Luke nervously said.

" I thought we were friends. You are no different from them. I thought you liked me!" Callista shouted.

"What? I thought you know I have feelings for her?" Luke said, showing a confused reaction.

"There is a girl that I want to be my girlfriend, she is Carol. I want to confess to her. What's wrong with you?" He added.

"You said you love me on the phone. You even said you wanted to buy a gift. But it was Carol" Callista said and looked mad.

"You know, you are being numb. You're so ugly, of course I don't love you. You're so disgusting. Where did you get that story? You need to be thankful because I approach you to be my friend even if you ugly!" Luke shouted at her.

Carol came to Callista.

"I flirted with him behind your back. That's your punishment for being a beautiful monster. Girls! Hold Callista and teach her a lesson. You are imagining too much. Look at your face, so ugly" Carol said.

The two friends of Carol hold Callista and strip her blouse. Carol destroyed Callista's mask. They laughed at her and even Luke laughed at her. Carol and Luke kissed in front of Callista. The other girls slap Callista. Also, they saw the box of shoes that is for Luke. They cut the shoes and tortured them until they became useless.

Callista felt depressed and broken-hearted. She walks in the street without her mask. She stopped by the abandoned building and she cried. She hates herself being ugly. She cried until she thought that no one cared about her.

"No one will cry if I die. No one will care. No one will try to find me. It's because I'm ugly. The boy I loved for a long time betrayed me. It feels like being ugly is a sin. Why me? I don't want to live anymore" she said irritatedly.

Callista tried to jump and someone held her hand.

"Will you be happy if you die?" breathless said.

A woman holds her hand and she has a beautiful face and looks perfect. She has black long hair and has clear skin too. She is wearing light makeup and her lips are like a cherry because of its color.

"Let me go, miss! I want to die. My life is miserable" she said irritably.

The woman didn't listen to Callista. She slapped Callista to be in her right mind.

"Hey! If you want to die then die but find another place. I don't want to be suspected of pushing you here. You planned to make me a killer. Think wisely, young girl" the annoyed woman said.

Callista became dumbfounded.

"Hey! Listen if your problem is being ugly. I think you're not that ugly. It is because of your scars. I was more ugly to you when I was in high school." a woman said.

"H...how? you're not ugly miss. Don't joke" sarcastically said.

"Do you think I'm joking?" the woman said and glared at her.

"You look gorgeous, miss. I don't see any ugly marks in you" Callista explained.

"Yes you're right, but look this was my original face" a woman showed a picture that made Callista shocked.

She saw a girl with pimples and dark scars in her face.

"How impossible is that?" interested said.

"It's because of makeup," seriously answered.

The woman explained how powerful makeup is. She showed some tutorial of make ups and she asked Callista if she's interested and she nodded.

"We need to go to my shop if you want to tell me but promise me you won't think about ending your life again" she said and looked at Callista.

"I promise. I'm Callista Santiago, second year high school" she wiped her tears and looked at the woman.

"I'm Celestine Sebastian," the woman said.

Celestine Sebastian is a professional makeup artist. No one knows her true face because she's using makeup to make her another person. She revealed her true face to Callista because it seems she doesn't know her. She only thinks that Celestine is an ordinary make up artist.

They go to Celestine's parlor shop and start to teach Callista. Callista tried herself to change her face and life and too buried her worst memories of her life. Day by day she always goes to Celestine's shop to learn and watch Celestine making women beautiful.

She works harder and starts to buy beauty products. After the school year, she decided to enroll in another school for her third year of high school and start a new life. She even buried Luke in her life. She cannot forgive him.

The first day of school.

"Mom! Dad! I'm going to school" Callista said.

"Oh my! Are you my daughter?" her father said and he nodded at her father.

"What a beautiful daughter?! You don't need to wear your mask anymore. You are so beautiful" he father proudly said.

She hugged her father and her mother.

"Thanks mom and dad. I will be a good person and I hope people accept me" she happily said.

Now, she goes to her new school for her new path wearing a skirt and blouse. The new chapter of her story will begin.

Callista transferred to Saint John High School and now she is in third year. But now she doesn't need to wear her mask because now she is stunning and looks like another person.

A lot of students are talking about her face. Her scar disappeared and she is wearing make up. Her lips like a pink rose, her brown beautiful eyes and her brown hair that tied into sides. She is perfect because of her look. But Callista feels weird because many students are staring at her. She thinks that her makeup is a mess that she runs to her classroom.

In the classroom, two girls came to her.

"Wow, you're so pretty. What is your name?" hold her arms and look at Callista.

"Eh? pretty? you're kidding. I'm Callista Santiago, a transferee student." shy Callista said.

"Callista, I'm Marjorie Kim and this is Mara Jones. Nice to meet you" lively Marjorie said.

Marjorie's height is 5'2 and she has short black hair. Her eyes are not that big but fit her and have a baby face. Mara's height is 5'4 taller than Marjorie. She has medium long hair and her eyes are like Japanese.

"Nice to meet you too," Callista said.

Marjorie and Mara tour Callista in the school. Until they saw three handsome boys surrounded by the female students and they were yelling because of excitement.

"Who are they?" Callista asked.

"Ah, they are our classmates." Mara said.

Marjorie tells all about the three boys. First, the man with black hair named Ken Davis. A top notch student and no one can beat him in rankings. He is a quiet person even though he is famous. Next, with brown hair is Sam Aves, a singer and he is from a rich family. He's top 5 in school rankings. He's a playboy but Marjorie has a crush on him because he's cute. The last with black hair too is Travis Forcas. Ken's rival and they are always fighting, some people say. He is known as a bad boy and he is always in a gang fight. He has a hot temper.

"Callista, you should be careful because they have crazy fans. You're such a beautiful girl. They might kill you if one of them dates you." Mara said.

"Don't worry. I'm not interested in them. Study first" Callista calmly said.

The three girls decided to go to their room and start the class. Callista becomes popular in their classroom because of her beauty and also, her brain. Ken was always at her when Callista answered the questions of their teacher.

"What happens next after World War II?" the teacher asked.

"Cold war" Callista and Ken both answered at the same time.

They both look at each other and Callista feels awkward. Their classmates looked at them and teased them.

"Wow, new genius huh?" Travis sarcastically said.

The teacher left and Callista decided to go to the library. In the library, Callista is trying to find some books about Social Studies. Callista loves reading books and she wants to be a teacher in future but she really loves to make arts like paintings. Callisa is trying to hold the book of anthropology and she's trying to get the book.

"Why is my height not enough?" irritated said.

Callista was startled when Ken got the book and gave it to her.

"Here, try to gain height next time. Your hair looks like a mushroom" he jokingly said.

"I'm not a mushroom hmp!" she shiveringly said.

Ken holds her face and acts like he's gonna kiss her. Callista started to drip sweat and swallowed her saliva because of nervousness then she closed her eyes . Ken looks at her and tries not to laugh.

"You think I'm gonna kiss you? You're cute but you are a small mushroom," Ken whispered and giggled.

Callista pushes him away and swipes her sweat. She realized that her makeup needs to be fixed. She rushed and left Ken.

Callista swears on the way to the bathroom.

"That crazy man! damn him! asshole! so annoying! He's not that handsome. Me mushroom?!" she irritated said.

She started retouching her face and she was still expressing her feelings.

"If you don't stop, you'll gonna dream of me"

Callista looked at the person who said that. She saw Ken standing in front of the door looking at her.

"What are you doing here? don't tell me you're a maniac" she said.

She started to hit Ken.

"Hey stop!" he said.

Ken heard group of males coming to the comfort room. He stop Callista for hitting him and he put his hand to her Callista's mouth to shut her mouth. Then he grab Callista with her things and go inside the cubicle. Callista tried to speak but Ken whispered.

"If you don't shut up I'll kiss you. I'm serious" he threatened.

Callista stops being noisy and hears some noise. Ken asks her to climb in the toilet bowl and sit. To prevent being suspected.

"You know man our teacher in PE is so harsh" a man said.

"I'm so tired running in the field. I'm thankful we have beautiful girls here in school" a lovely man said.

Callista was shocked because she made a mistake. She's in the male cubicle after all. She feels guilty because she accused Ken of being a pervert. However, she stared at him. He has adam's apple and he's skin is soft. His hair is wet because of sweat. He has red lips and beautiful eyes.

"Hey, they left," Ken said.

But doesn't listen because she's staring at him. Ken realized that she was staring at him.

"How is it? I know I'm too handsome. Want me to date you?" teases Callista.

"O...of course not. Go away." she said.

She pushed him and ran away. Ken laughed and left the cubicle.

After the class, Ken looked at Callista. Callista is working now at a café restaurant. She is still using makeup and it is a maid cafe where employees need to wear a maid uniform. This restaurant is far from their school so that no one knows her. She serves customers wearing maid uniforms.

"Good evening young mast... what are you doing here?" Callista said. She looked startled and into panic.

"Why? Do I have your permission to come?" sarcastic answer of Ken.

"I'm for coffee. It seems quiet and far from girls. I do not know that you're working here" he calmly said.

Callista becomes stressed because she thinks that Ken will annoy her and tease him.

Callista exits in the back of the cafe to go home. She unexpectedly saw Ken standing there.

"If you are worried. Don't worry I won't tell anyone" he said and left.

Callista didn't expect it and she looked at him walking away.

One week after. Callista's walking in the street without wearing makeup. She wears her mask to hide her scar. Callista stops by the convenient store. She loves ramen. So, she buys ramen and eats outside the store. When she was eating, she saw a man wearing a hoodie running into her. He sits next to Callista and hugs her to act like a couple. Callista was shocked because a man hugged her. Callista saw a group of big males. They looked around and after a few minutes they were gone.

The man who hugs her apologizes to her.

When the man removed the hoodie. It was Travis. Callista panic and ran away while saying "I'm doomed"

Travis finds her weird. He doesn't realize that it was Callista. She left her ramen and other foods in the convenience store.

Then Travis decided to eat it.

Meanwhile, after escaping to Travis, Callista walks and regrets because she left her food.

"Why did that man suddenly show up? I left my ramen to him" she said with regret.

While walking she doesn't even know that will bump into another person.

"Ramen...ow, sorry" she said.

Her mask was accidentally removed and the man gave it to her.

"Thank you," she said.

But...

"Callista?" he said.

"Another trouble again," she said.

"Callista?" he said.

It was Ken.

At the playground, Callista tells her past story. She tells me why she has a mask.

"I was bullied because of my face. Even the man that I trusted betrayed me." she said and bowed her head.

"I have this scar since I exist on the earth. I was born in a poor family." she said.

"As you can see I work as a part timer in the cafe. Plastic surgery is very expensive. There is a woman who helps me to hide my true face. " she added.

Ken quietly listens to Callista.

"I didn't see your whole face. Can you remove it?" he suddenly asked.

"No, You're gonna laugh because of my face" she said with a worried voice.

"Hey! look at me. I'm not the type of person who judges by looks. Trust me." he said seriously.

His eyes tells that he is sincere. Callista decided to remove her mask and she looked at him with a teary eye.

Ken observed her face and touch face.

"Where is the ugly?" he asked.

"You see, the face has a big scar. It is redish. Sure, ugly face I have," Callista said.

"Mushroom, I don't think you are ugly. I think you don't need to be affected by what others say. Because you didn't do anything bad right?" he said.

"You are handsome, that is why you are confident" she said.

"Oh! you admit that I'm handsome, well a lot of people said that." he confidently said.

"I thought you were just a quiet man. A lot of people said that. But when we are together you are being talkative." she said.

"Hey! You're judging me. l only talk to you because I don't know. Maybe, you are different from others. Also, it seems like you are my rival in academics. Just kidding" he said and chuckled.

"You didn't get into the top 2?" she asked.

"Never, not once" he answered.

"You are seriously a genius," she said.

Ken's phone suddenly rang and he answered. After that, he talked to Callista because it's getting darker.

"My mom called me. I need to go. You must go home too." he said.

"Wait, you must keep it a secret right?" she asked.

"I have three conditions. First, beat me. Be the Top 1. Second and three. I will tell you soon. Bye for now mushroom " he smiled and ran away.

" I want to die," she said with an exhausted feeling.

Callista goes home and she's irritated and scared because of Ken. But she realizes even though he is annoying and always messing up with her she feels grateful.

Callista walks in the field and imagines the two types of Ken.

"Don't worry I'll keep your secret because I'm an angel" Angel Ken said.

Another one showed up.

"No, I will not keep it. You always hit me. You will be my slave and I will be your master" devil Ken said.

Callista holds her hair and she looks like she's going out of mind. Callista imagines what consequences she needs to do. However, she doesn't realize a soccer ball is landing her and it hits her head and sits in the grass. A male student came to her and it was Travis.

"Hey! Are you okay?" he breathlessly said.

"Ouch.. my head" Callista said and felt dizzy.

Callista looks at him and she feels awkward. She suddenly got up.

"Oh, I'm okay, nothing to worry about," stuttered said.

"Okay" he coldly said. Then Travis left and didn't ask anything.

Callista finds out he's being arrogant. In the library, Callista is reading books to review. She needs to review because she thinks that Ken would expose her true face. But she's lost some confidence because Ken is always in the Top 1. She thinks that she is really in trouble. Ken saw Callista reading books and he came.

"You're doing your best to beat me?" he said.

"Hey! this is wrong!" she said. She stamps one's feet in anger and Ken smiles.

"Give your number" he suddenly said.

"Why my number?" she said.

"Remember I have three consequences for keeping your secret?" he said.

"But I didn't agree with that. You're too much" she sulky said.

"Well, okay you don't like then I'll go to your friends and tell" he threatened.

"Okay, I'll be in Top 1. Here's my number. " she said.

"Good girl. Good luck in studies." he said and he petted her head. Then he left.

In the classroom, Marjorie, Mara and Callista retouched their faces, took a selfie and gossiping. Until Callista receives a text message from unknown.

"Come to the rooftop. If you don't go you know what will happen. Save this number, mushroom" he said.

After receiving a text she ran and cursed on the way to the rooftop. She knew that it was Ken.

At the rooftop.

"I'm here," she said.

"Oh? you're fast, come here" he said.

"What do you want?" annoyed said.

Ken showed a lot of food on the table.

"Eat this," he said.

"Why would I eat that?" she said.

"Don't want to? okay, too bad this is my second consequence" he said and pouted.

"No, okay I'll eat it. I'm very hungry."she said

She started to eat and enjoy the food. Ken joined her to eat.

"You are really an eater," he said.

"By the way, why did you have this food when you can eat it all?" she asked.

"It is from the girls in the school. I can reject their feelings but not the food. It will be a waste that is why I called you." He explained.

"From now on, you'll be the one who finishes eating this food every lunch," he added.

"No problem. Advantage to me I'll not spend money." she happily said.

"My last consequence, I will be your master and my maid," he said.

Callista stopped eating when she heard that.

"What?" she said. In her mind she thinks that he is out of mind.

Then finished their food and they both left.

Callista grants their promise with Ken. She became his maid and every night, in her workplace Ken always pays a visit. She always looks at her. The way she smiles and works.

In his room, Ken is studying and he suddenly thinks of Callista being annoyed by him. He realized that he's smiling. He slapped his face back to normal.

He looked at the window.
