Author: : Xie Huan
Genre: Romance
Jennifer, a young female CEO, capable and brilliant. Kent, born with a silver spoon in his mouth, idle but talented. She was the one everybody was envious of, but nobody could see how much effort she made to shoulder the future of her family. He was the one who owned everything, but he showed no interest in fame and gain. What could intrigue him was only her.

Chapter 1 Incident of Sulfuric Acid

It was already ten past two when Jennifer Xie arrived at New Point Entertainment Inc, ten minutes later than the press conference started. She got out of the car and closed the door.

The man rolled down the window and reminded her, "Jenny, some reporters' questions are very aggressive and unreasonable. Keep calm and don't scold them."

She made an "OK" gesture and walked through the employee passage to the press conference.

At the press conference of New Point Entertainment.

"Mr. Harrison, what impact will this news have on your new play? Will the crew members be changed?"

"Mr. Harrison, what's your relationship with that mysterious man? Are you really a gay?"

"Mr. Harrison, please answer our questions directly."

Standing at the front of the stage, the agent tried his best to help Harrison avoid some difficult questions. However, Harrison's performance gave the agent a headache. They had agreed before he went on the stage. Why was Harrison behaving like this now?

"Harrison!"

Suddenly, a shrill scream came, attracting everyone's attention.

It appeared that a girl with pink frame glasses and a ponytail that looked over twenty rushed in. She tried hard to pass through the group of reporters and rush to the stage, but was stopped by security guards.

The young girl took out a small bottle from her pocket and stared at Harrison Jiang, "I like you so much. Why did you kiss a man? Why?" When yelling at him, the girl quickly opened the bottle and poured the liquid onto Harrison.

Harrison Jiang didn't react for a moment and sat there with his eyes wide open.

After all, his agent was experienced. He rushed to Harrison Jiang and blocked the liquid for him. He felt the liquid wet his suit but didn't feel pain nor burned.

Those reporters also knew that they had separated themselves from each other before the young girl was about to pour the liquid. There were many fans with fragile feelings to their idols. The reporters guessed that the unknown liquid in the small bottle might be sulfuric acid. The conference became a mess suddenly.

"Why are you standing there? Arrest her."

At this time, a woman in a light yellow dress came out from the backstage and stepped onto the stage to break the stalemate. At the same time, she attracted everyone's attention.

The woman had shawl hair with slightly curled tip. Her features were extremely exquisite. Her skin was white, and the pale yellow dress not only set off her tall figure, but also her skin was more delicate. Most importantly, this woman had a strong aura, which seemed to be born in her bones.

The security guards came to their senses and subdued the little girl. She was taken backstage immediately.

The woman walked to Harrison's agent, raised her hand, and fanned the place where the unknown liquid was splashed. Smelling it, she smiled and said, "It's alright. It's not sulfuric acid."

Then she waved her hand and asked the agent to step aside. She turned to the media off the stage, smiling neither humble nor pushy:

"Good day, friends from the press. My name is Jennifer Xie, the new CEO of New Point. I'll take over the business of Mr. Harrison. If you have any questions, please ask me directly."

The reporters looked at each other. They had been paying attention to the new news for a long time, but they didn't know that there was a young female CEO. The media just wanted to find something new, and they quickly shifted their attention to the appearance of Jennifer.

"Ms. Xie, what's your relationship with the chairman of New Point, Mr. Hamilton?" A female reporter asked a question and moved the microphone towards Jennifer.

"Don't I look like Mr. Hamilton?" Jennifer Xie asked the female reporter in reply.

This sentence was more destructive than "I'm the daughter of Mr. Hamilton". Other reporters started whispering to each other.

"Ms. Xie, is it because of Mr. Hamilton that you became the CEO at such a young age?" Asked a male reporter wearing eyeglasses with a sharp nose.

"Yes, because I'm capable." Staring at him, Jennifer Xie said in a more serious tone. She didn't like others to use her father as an excuse. "Excuse me, Mr. Reporter. How about you?" After saying that, Jennifer Xie raised her head and smiled at the others. "Why did you keep asking about me? Mr. Harrison is the main character of this press conference."

Jennifer Xie shifted the topic to Harrison Jiang again.

"Ms. Xie, is Mr. Harrison really a homosexual?" Asked the female reporter who questioned about the relationship between Jennifer Xie and Hamilton Xie.

"What if he is for real?" Jennifer Xie asked back as usual.

"Well... Then I guess there will be many female fans like the one who made a scene just now." The female reporter didn't expect that Jennifer Xie would ask in reply, so she didn't know how to answer. She switched the topic to the scene happened just now.

"The same heartbroken? I know that many fans can't accept it for a while, but since you choose to worship Harrison, please also choose to tolerate him." To be honest, this was the first "actual combat" of Jennifer Xie. She was almost unable to continue making up the story. "Then, let Mr. Harrison, the protagonist of the event, speak to you directly."

Hearing this, Harrison was first stunned. He turned around and looked at the agent. The agent was also confused. Then Harrison gritted his teeth, stood up, and walked ahead to the speaker's podium.

Jennifer Xie walked aside, leaving a space for him. Harrison took a bow first.

"Friends from the press, thank you very much for your coming, and I want to make an apology to the fans who like me. Your favorite Harrison is a person with defects." Harrison Jiang lowered his head slightly. Jennifer Xie, who was next to him, couldn't see his facial expression, but his voice was very hoarse just now.

Jennifer Xie looked at Harrison's agent standing aside and winked at him. The agent immediately understood what she meant. He rushed up, pushed Harrison Jiang back with one hand, and blocked the reporters who were about to rush forward with the other.

"Dear journalists, today's press conference is over. Thank you very much. Have a great one." Jennifer Xie soon ended the press.

The agent called security guards and left with Harrison Jiang, who had been protected.

Knowing that the reporters would definitely come up later, Jennifer Xie winked at Harrison's agent and left alone as soon as possible.

When she walked out of the press conference, she saw Sean Tang at a corner.

Sean Tang took Jennifer Xie to the lobby of the company and talked about her performance just now.

"It's better than I thought, but you must have screwed it up." Sean Tang concluded.

"Didn't my father say that I'll be announced upon this event. Basically it's not the press conference of Harrison, but mine." When Jennifer Xie had seen only Harrison and his agent were on the stage, she knew that.

She didn't understand why the company didn't ask the PR Department to deal with it. Does the company give up on Harrison?

Jennifer Xie also found an interesting thing. She wondered how the little girl who had just made trouble came in the conference. The press conference was held in the company, and it usually required an employee badge to enter. If a press conference was held, it also required a reporter's card and a real name to register. The company security was not bad either.

"Sean, please help me investigate something. Why did irrelevant personnel break into the press conference? Go and see if there is someone behind it."

Jennifer Xie had made many assumptions, hoping that the result would not be the worst one.

When she went upstairs with Sean Tang, Jennifer Xie took the special elevator for VIPs. Before that, because of the rarity of the public, few people in the company knew her identity.

Turning her head to look at the gate, Jennifer Xie saw a black sports car at a glance. The car was parked not far from the gate. A man in a suit got out of the sports car and soon a man in a suit walked up to it.

Both of them walked towards the direction where Jennifer Xie was. When the man in suit saw Sean Tang, he greeted him respectfully, "Good day, Mr. Sean." Then he looked up and down at the Jennifer Xie standing next to Sean Tang.

As the special assistant of the chairman, Sean Tang had a certain position in the company. The person who could be hosted by him must have a high status.

The elevator door opened. When Jennifer Xie was about to walk in, she heard a voice from beside her.

Chapter 2 Mr. Kent, Please.

"What? Do I even need to wait for taking the VIP elevator?" The man took off his sunglasses and looked sideways at Jennifer.

"Well... Well, Mr. Kent..." The man in suit was a little embarrassed. He looked at Jennifer and this Mr. Kent, didn't know what to do.

After a short pause, Jennifer took two steps forward and reached out to stop the elevator door. "Mr. Kent, please." She indicated him to go in.

The man called Mr. Kent smiled. He was very satisfied with what Jennifer had done. He walked into the elevator, followed by the man in suit.

Sean glared at the man in suit, blaming him who couldn't even handle this well.

The elevator door slowly closed. When Jennifer looked up, she met the eyes of the so-called distinguished guest in the elevator...

They looked at each other in silence.

The elevator door then closed and slowly went up.

"That Mr. Kent? Who is it?" Jennifer asked. His arrogance made her dislike him very much.

"Kent Xu, the son of Mr. Dean of Sky Media." Sean answered.

Jennifer had heard that Mr. Dean was a big shot. He started from scratch and set up Sky Media. The current development of Sky Media could fully prove his ability, but it seemed that his son was not so capable.

"His personality isn't very good, is it?" Asked Jennifer.

After hesitating for a while, Sean nodded and said, "Yes, he's just an idle second generation from a rich family."

The employee elevator next to the VIP elevator came down. Jennifer and Sean walked in.

As soon as they had arrived the top floor, Sean took Jennifer to see Mr. Hamilton. He told her, "Mr. Hamilton misses you very much. You should meet him anyway."

Jennifer agreed. Unexpectedly, Sean took her directly to a meeting room, where there were members of the board and senior executives.

Hamilton, who was sitting in the front, stood up and waved at Jennifer, hinting her to come over.

There were many people in the meeting room. Although Jennifer didn't like such a serious scene, she knew what she should do. She walked to Hamilton in a proper way.

Hamilton cleared his throat and introduced Jennifer to everyone in the meeting room. "This is my daughter. She just came back from abroad. I don't want to have a rest these months. From tomorrow on, she will be the CEO of New Point. I hope you can take care of her."

"My name is Jennifer. I have just taken over a lot of things that I don't understand. I hope you can give me more guidance. I will accept the good advice with my heart." Jennifer said to the attendees and bowed slightly.

When she was at home in the past, her father often talked about the conflicts between the senior leaders, but he had no choice. It was difficult to control people's minds, which were always controlled by power.

After saying that, Jennifer had to say something harsh. Otherwise, these experienced businessmen would do something secretly.

"I know you all are more capable and more experienced than me, but I don't like to rely on someone just because he or she is older or stays in the company longer. If I do anything wrong, please tell me. Don't play tricks behind my back. If I know you have done something, you can go home immediately." Jennifer said with the corners of her mouth up but no smile on her face.

The people in the meeting room were silent. Some lowered their heads. Of course, some of them disdained her and her words.

Hamilton was quite happy with what Jennifer had just said. He nodded and said to his daughter, "The office is ready for you. Let Sean show you the way."

After Jennifer left, Hamilton pounded the table, glanced at the people in the room and said, "If I'm not here, Sean is the special assistant of the CEO. What my daughter says and does will be what I mean. Do you all understand?" After a pause, he announced, "Today's meeting is over." Then he left the room.

"What did the CEO do that? He doesn't take us board of directors seriously at all. Does he think he holds too much shares?" One of the bald directors said in an unconvinced tone. He was not satisfied with Hamilton.

"This is New Point. After all, the company belongs to the Xie family. Look at Ham's daughter. The girl's tone was exactly the same fierce has Ham back then."

"Well, let's do our own business. We don't care who is in charge of the family. Anyway, her surname is Xie."

Jennifer knew that New Point were profitable these years, but she didn't expect that an office could be so... Luxurious...

In addition to the basic desk, chair, and computer, there was also a small fridge, a microwave oven, and three armchairs.

"Let me know if you need anything else in the office." Sean walked to the French window and opened all the curtains.

What else could Jennifer say? It was the first time that she had seen such an office, which had refreshed her understanding of an office. "I still need a bed, so I can sleep here." She joked.

"Speaking of sleeping, are you still going to stay in the hotel? What's your plan then? Why don't you move to my house?" Said Sean.

It was a serious sentence, but Sean had a playful face. Although he looked serious, anyone who didn't know him as the same as Jennifer did would think he was a hoodlum.

"Let's talk about it later. I haven't decided yet." Answered Jennifer. She walked to her desk and knocked on it. "Will you have nothing to do after my father retires?"

"Yes, I have." Sean shrugged, hinting that Jennifer was wild guessing. "I'll be the special assistant to the CEO, Jennifer Xie."

"Oh, alright." Jennifer raised her eyebrows. She was very happy with the result. "In that case... Go and ask Harrison to come here."

Knowing what she meant, Sean asked particularly, "What about his agent? Does he need to come together?"

"No, just Harrison. Bring me the relevant information of the movie he is going to shoot recently."

Jennifer was sitting in her chair and browsing micro-blog. Not long after Sean went out, a woman in work clothes, wearing a pair of black glasses, who looked about thirty years old, knocked on the door and walked in. She walked to the desk and handed the documents in her hands to Jennifer, saying, "CEO, this is all the relevant documents about Harrison's movie you want. Mr. Sean asked me to do bring them to you."

Jennifer took the document and put it on the table. She looked at the woman in front of her and found that she was good except for she had a pair of small eyes.

"And you are..." Asked Jennifer.

"My name is Yumi Shang. I'm from Advertising & Marketing Department." With a smile, Yumi Shang introduced herself gracefully.

Jennifer nodded. "Thank you. Please go ahead with your work."

Since Jennifer was born, she had been destined to study, graduate, inherit the father's business and carry forward, marry, give birth to a child, and eventually retire. So far she had just stepped into the third step of her life and was already exhausted physically and mentally.

Since she was a child, she had attended all kinds of extra curriculum activities after school. Her ranking was basically among the top in exams, and for university she studied abroad at public funds.

It seemed to others that Jennifer had a brilliant study life. Everyone envied her or envied her. They just saw a very superficial phenomenon. No one had ever asked her if she was happy with her life.

Never.

Even her parents never asked.

Chapter 3 Sean Drove Her Home

When Jennifer was a child, she would complain about her being unhappy, but she had stopped complaining a long time ago. She had accepted it, or perhaps she was used to it, and didn't complain or resist anymore. She learned to accept what happened in her life, just like this time she didn't say anything to take over the CEO position of New Point.

It was not that she didn't want to resist, but that as long as she could accept anything in her life, she could live more easily.

"Knock, knock, knock."

There was a knock on the door.

"CEO, Harrison is here to see you."

It was Sean's voice. Jennifer asked them to enter the office.

With a smile on her face, Jennifer turned around and asked Sean to go back to work, leaving Harrison alone with her.

Taking a look at Jennifer, Sean left.

Jennifer walked to the desk, leaned back against it, crossed her arms in front of her chest, and faced Harrison. Harrison was a little nervous and lowered his head slightly.

"Don't be nervous please. I just want to ask you a question and apologize to you by the way. I'm really sorry for screwing up the press conference." Jennifer said.

"No... No need. If you have any questions, please go ahead ask me." Harrison became more nervous when he heard what Jennifer said. After all, he was just an artist in New Point. How dare he ask the CEO to apologize to him?

Jennifer didn't insist. "Now that you have admitted it, I think you have already thought about what to do next, right?" Instead, she asked Harrison directly, This was also the most important thing for Jennifer at present. If the press conference was screwed up, she had to ask for Harrison's opinions and then cooperate with the PR Department to deal with it.

"I... Actually I don't. I was so excited that I blurted it out." Harrison bit his lips and began to regret why he said it so impulsively at that time.

Jennifer, on the other hand, was not too surprised. She had thought about the result, "What about your agent? What did he say?"

Harrison shook his head.

"How about this?" Jennifer took two steps forward and walked in front of Harrison. Before he came, she had made a lot of assumptions. When she asked him just now, she gradually excluded some assumptions, and now there was only one assumption that seemed to be good enough. "You are the most potential new artist at present in New Point, and no one wants to become popular because of this matter. I don't think it's a big deal to admit your sex-orientation. A press conference will be held in a few days. You can give the press a clear explanation. That would be all. As long as the film crew doesn't change your role, you will still continue shooting in that movie. What do you think?"

Harrison was stunned. He didn't expect what he had heard.

"That sounds a perfect plan. Thank you, CEO. Thank you so much." Harrison had planned for the worst situation, but he didn't expect it to be the best.

"Of course. But please don't take it for granted. If you can't bring any profits to New Point, the company wouldn't continue supporting you. You should understand this." Jennifer was used to saying harsh words, but that was the truth.

"I know. Thank you again, CEO." Harrison smiled, completely different from the nervous person who he was when he just came in.

Harrison, who had been sad or nervous before, now smiled. His smile immediately made Jennifer understand why he was so popular. His warm smile could heal wounds in other's heart.

It was time to get off work. Sean had to drive Jennifer to the hotel.

He went to the underground parking lot and drove over, while Jennifer was waiting for him at the gate of the company building.

The news that a beautiful CEO came to the company had been spread, but few people had seen what she looked like, so when Jennifer was waiting at the gate, she didn't attract much attention.

"Ash, are you off duty? Christian asked me to drive you home. He has to work overtime today."

"Please don't bother, Kent. I can take a bus home by myself. You don't need to drive me home."

A conversation came from behind. Feeling that the two voices were a little familiar, Jennifer turned her head and took a look. It happened she knew both of them.

"Ash? Is that you? Ashley?"

Jennifer's voice interrupted them and successfully attracted their attention.

The woman called Ash looked at Jennifer up and down for a while. Suddenly, a look of surprise appeared on her face. She walked towards Jennifer and said in a happy tone, "Jenny? You are back. When did you come back? Why are you here? "

"I came back two days ago. I'm working here." Jennifer pointed at the New Point building behind her.

She didn't tell Ash her relationship with this company because she didn't think it was necessary.

"Ash, is this lady your friend?"

Before Ash could answer, Jennifer said to the man standing aside first, "You are Mr. Kent, aren't you?" Just now, when she heard the conversation between the two, Jennifer roughly understood something. "Ash, is she your friend?"

Ash hesitated for a while and nodded.

"When did you know each other? I've only been away for a few years. You've already known a son from a rich family. Good for you, Ash." Jennifer teased her playfully. Then she said to Kent, "Mr. Kent, I just met with Ash after so many years. You don't need to send her back home today. I want to have a get-together with her. What do you think?"

Of course, Kent could understand the meaning of her tone, but he had to put up with it because of the presence of Ash. He had to show the best in front of her. "I'm just a new friend of Ash. You don't have to ask me if you go out to have fun." Then he turned to Ash, "Have fun, Ash. Bye for now."

Right then, Sean's car came in time. Jennifer opened the door and let Ash in. Before she got in the car, she waved at Kent and said, "Mr. Kent. See you around."

Seeing the car driving away, Kent put on his sunglasses with a straight face, got in his car, and drove away.

After getting in the car, Ash said gratefully to Jennifer, "Jenny, thanks a lot, my dear." She knew that Jennifer had noticed she was in a dilemma, so she helped her.

"You're welcome."

"Where are you two ladies going?" Sean looked at them through the rearview mirror.

The voice sounded a little familiar. Ash looked up at the rearview mirror in front of her and saw the face of Sean from it.

"Mr... Mr. Sean? The special assistant of CEO?" Ash was surprised. She took a look at Jennifer and wondered if they had taken the wrong car.

"Drive Ash home first. Where do you live now, Ash?" Jennifer asked.

"Shimizu Household on East Ave, please." Ash couldn't believe that the CEO's special assistant would drive her home.

Seeing this, Jennifer smiled, "Ash, don't be nervous. Sean is my cousin, and he was the one who took me to New Point."

Yes, it was Sean who picked her up from the hotel to New Point. Although he was just an assistant, that was exactly what she meant.

"I see..." Hearing this, Ash breathed a sigh of relief.

In the near future, when Ash knew the true identity of Jennifer, she almost dropped her chin. She had been in her dormitory mate for four years, but now Jennifer was the future boss of the company she worked for. She never realized it at all in the past four years. Was it because she was too stupid to notice it or because Jennifer kept a low profile?

When they arrive Shimizu Household, before getting off the car, Jennifer told Ash that if that son of a rich family bothered Ash again, she could call her.

After Ash walked into the residence community, Jennifer asked Sean to turn around and go back to the hotel.
