The Howardian Kingdom.
A rope was tying Karmila's hands to her back. Due to her dashing into the deep bush where she is now trapped, her formerly exquisite and costly dress is dirty and has multiple holes. The Princess now has a beggar's look. She also has a few scratch marks on her face.
Even though they were walking, she didn't appear to be alive. She just stood there and stared as they moved. Her feet were already in excruciating pain, but the pain in her foot was no longer mending.
Soldiers who once looked up to her are now detaining her as if they had forgotten who she is. As if they didn't know who the genuine successor to the Howard Kingdom was.
"You all vowed devotion to my father..." Her heart broke whenever he spoke to her Father, the King. "You are useless in my kingdom!" She said absolutely to the soldiers who were quietly listening to her.
What did the General do to cause the Howard troops to abandon the King and betray her Father? Her Father, the King, was kind in every way. Her Father was a King who regarded his subjects as though they were his own family?
They arrived at Howard center a few hours ago. The residents of Serenity greeted them as soon as they walked into the center. As she glanced at them, her face was expressionless. Everyone kept their gaze away from her. They had empathy for the Princess, but there was nothing they could do because they knew that anyone who attempted to help her would be executed.
She was tethered to a pole and encircled by wood.
"Is this my form of retribution?"
Karmila's heart snapped in half as she remembered what had happened to her entire tribe in the blink of an eye. Because her whole family was cruelly murdered by the General who had bad intentions in the Kingdom of Howard, she was the only one with royal blood remaining.
He was so desperate for the throne and power that he would have been content with his current status as a General.
"Pay homage to the King!" exclaims the announcer.
The Princess was stunned by what she had heard and got much more enraged when she saw the phony King riding the Palanquin. She wants to kill the Phony King and strangle him till he suffocates while she tries to break free.
"By the time I get out of here, I'm not going to lose any opportunity to murder you!" she thought.
When she saw anything that reminded her of Father King, she couldn't help but cry. The fake King now wears his Father's fine and costly attire and the Serenity Crown. The throne has abruptly lost its dignity. As if he were the genuine King, the guy sat on the Palanquin. It gave her a direct stare.
Instead of fighting to break free from her enslavement, she battled to look at the phony King. As they looked, he had rage and hatred in his eyes, as did Karmila.
The King went down to the Palanquin and approached her. It comes her with a flaming stick in its hand. Because of the power with which the phony King smacked the Princess, the edge of her lip bled. The apparent blood flowing from the side of her lip and nose made everyone groan.
Karmila filled her with rage and fury for the blasphemy he had committed to her family. No one could harm him when his Father King was still alive, but that law is no longer effective.
Because of the loud sighs, the false King faced the people.
The General's voice reverberated across the city, "Don't you say you feel sorry for this Princess? He murdered my daughter and son-in-law, leaving my poor grandchild without parents!"
Karmila slowly raised her eyes to the phony King, who had moved away from her before facing the entire crowd. She squinted, unable to believe what she heard.
Matteo has passed away?
Her upper lip raised slightly. It would have been preferable if he had perished. Matteo was making her feel worse.
When the phony King received no response from the people, he raced back to meet the Princess. His neck was crimson, his chest rose, and he was furious with her.
Karmila gave the false King a mischievous smirk. "Does it hurt when you lose someone you care about?" she said, her laughter echoing around the area due to the quiet. "It's not enough! What I've done is insufficient! I've done less to you than you've done to me! I'll kill your entire family!"
"How can you do that when death is waiting for you at these times?!" yelled the phony King, pointing to the forest fire it was carrying.
She smiled instead of being terrified. "Do it! Do you think I'm frightened of dying? You've used up all of my reasons to live, so do it!" she said with a little shake. "Oh, General, do you think it will help your generations?! Do you think people will forget all you've done? The blasphemy you've perpetrated will mark your blood. Just think about it. Your last name will be called phony, counterfeit, and robber. I'm looking forward to finding that in my future life."
The heavens were misting by the time Karmila laughed. They were all looking up to the sky. Because what the Princess said had sunk into his consciousness, the phony King's visage was filled with fear and trepidation.
Karmila cynically responded, "See? Heaven is on my side."
It was as though it had rained to save her from being consumed by flames. The rain became harder till it thundered and flashed violently. Even though it was raining, everyone watching them did not leave.
"Where's my fucking sword? I'm going to murder this fucking bitch!" The false King's outburst was accompanied by lightning, but none of them were alarmed.
The soldier handed over his weapon right away.
As the phony King placed its tip towards her throat, the Princess shook her head slightly. Karmila persuaded the fake King even more by raising an eyebrow in his direction.
When the sequence of events was revealed, everyone gasped.
When Karmila felt what pierced her heart, her entire body became numb. She lowered her gaze gently. An arrow pierced her heart. Everyone, including the phony King, was taken aback and turned to gaze in the direction of the arrow. Karmila followed suit.
The baby's thunderous wail accompanied the thunder and lightning; Karmila, on the other hand, was gradually dropping her eyelids.
The baby's wailing reminded Karmila that she needed to return.
As she faced the customer, Karina grinned. She had a little notebook and a ballpoint pen in her pocket to record her customer's order.
Karina is ecstatic. "Sir, what are your orders?"
Karina's body hair sprang up as the male client touched her arm, asking, "Uh, what are the best-sellers here?" Instead of being enraged, she exhaled and smiled.
"Please look at our menu, Sir," Karina said, attempting to ignore the man's touching. Men merely flirting with her is nothing new to her.
Karina works at a well-known nightclub, so she can't avoid encountering this kind of individual. When a waiter appeared with drinks, she purposefully approached the man, and the man took advantage of the chance to touch Karina's butt.
Karina's eyes widened in surprise. When she felt her pain again, she was prepared to hit the man.
Those bouncers captured Karina with a large bodybuild in an eye. Her jaw dropped wide as she noticed the man who had abused her had a bleeding forehead. Many people approached her and sneered at her since she had acted violently against the man she didn't know.
Karina ended up with blood on her hands in the precinct. She was weeping while the cops questioned her about several charges.
"Let's just assume the man touched you inappropriately, Miss Perez, but why did it go that way? Why didn't you smack him?" the police asked her, outraged. She was sobbing and looking down.
But why does it feel like everything is her fault?
The officers just sighed and led her to a prison where other women were held.
"Stay put, wait for the victim, and see whether he files a complaint against you!"
Karina had a peek around the prison. There are female inmates, but their bodies are identical to men's. The environment is filthy and stinky. When the prisoners' gazes were drawn to her, she quickly pushed herself into a corner. Thankfully, they laughed at her instead of making fun of Karina.
What occurred before was dubbed "sick" by Karina. She'd wake up to discover that someone had already suffered because of her. Only when someone attempts to harm her does she feel pain. Whether it was a gift from God or not, Karina can fight for herself due to her condition.
Karina was raised in an orphanage but was evicted due to the same issue. The only bad experience she had was when she would kill someone and had to flee to another place to avoid the victim's relatives.
Karina grew up with no fixed address. She has stopped studying. She only completed high school since she couldn't sustain herself if she went to college.
She had no choice but to stop schooling and work hard to support herself in everyday life.
On the other hand, Karina is someone who always sees the bright side of things. Karina remained a friendly and restless person despite all of her difficulties.
"Karina Perez, you're free!" cops exclaim as they unlock the prison where she is being held.
In a surprise, her eyes widened at what she heard. She got trapped in the prison's steel. She mumbled an inquiry to the cops, "R-Really?"
A police officer frowned. "You don't want to?"
Karina shook her head instantly. "I want to!"
By the time she left the precinct, Karina had appeared to have been bitten by a thorn. Fortunately, the unpleasant man realized that he shared responsibility for the incident. He wouldn't have been injured if he hadn't insulted and enraged Karina! She knotted her hair as she headed back to her leased boarding house.
Karina sensed someone following her as she walked. She inhaled deeply and embraced herself as she accelerated her speed. She shuts her eyes firmly and covers her lips when someone whispers to her. A sharp knife was placed at her side waist.
"Come along if you don't want to die." Karina smelled a combination of cigarettes and alcohol.
She was beginning to shake as she recognized a familiar voice. This is the one that attempted to seduce her!
Karina was led into a dark alley when she glimpsed the man's face. It has a hideous face. When Karina saw the man grin, her hair sprang on the edge, and a chill rushed down her spine. Even though she was appropriately dressed, she couldn't stop her fur from sprouting out of dread and contempt.
Karina begged, "Please let me go..."
The man coughed. "Shut up! I didn't let you go so that you wouldn't unfuck!" he said as he nuzzled her nape.
Her eyes welled up with tears. She attempts to flee, but the man is tough. When Karina recalled what her closest friend had told her, she kicked the man in the middle thigh so hard that he let go of her and bore the agony. Karina bolted away from the scene.
"Karina Perez, come back here!"
Karina was even more terrified when she realized he most likely knew her full name. Is he Karina's stalker?!
Karina couldn't recall where the man had brought her. When she noticed a car, she quickly ducked behind it and covered her lips to avoid making a noise.
He could hear the stalker's footsteps. She tightly closed her eyes and silently hoped he wouldn't see her.
"Fuck it!"
Karina was instantly hopeful when she noticed the car's back compartment was open. She opened it slightly to hide there, and Karina could enter right away because her body was small. She slid the compartment door shut softly.
Even though she was no longer in danger from that man, Karina couldn't help but worry for herself. What if this car's owner is just as terrible as the last one?
'Please, Lord, save me.' I'll let you decide my fate. '
When she felt the car start, she almost passed out.
Karina waited five minutes after feeling the car stop before unlocking it. When a young man welcomed her sight as he opened the back of the compartment, she was detained.
Her mouth was parted. She couldn't believe her eyes at the moment.
Before he grasped her right hand and dragged her away, the corner of the man's mouth raised. Karina continues to praise the young man in her head. The man has a muscular figure with broad shoulders and brilliant features.
Karina was drawn to the young man's hand around her wrist. Not too loose, but not too tight.
Karina was taken aback as she took a glance around. She is unfamiliar with the location. When the young man abruptly left her and marched away with giant steps, Karina scowled in surprise. Even the man's back is just stunning.
Her eyes widened when the man got into his car and moved away from Karina. She had barely kept up with it and had yet to catch up. When she felt afraid, she sighed and glanced about; all she could see were trees. What if someone attempts to bring her back here?
"Where am I?" Karina wondered aloud as if she were a kid.
Because she was exhausted, she sat down and held herself while sobbing and listening to the bird's chirp.
When Karina heard footsteps, she froze. She noticed a pair of sneakers in front of her a few minutes later. When she saw the men's shoes in front of her, she was instantly terrified.
As she moved away from the old guy, Karina gazed up at it. The elderly gentleman was wearing glasses and was holding an umbrella. He has a gentle face, unlike the males she encounters in the bars where she works. The older man had an ashen complexion.
"W-What do you need on me?" she shook her head, but the guy only smirked.
Its voice teased her, "Nothing. Can you give me something just in case?"
Karina smirked.
She didn't have any cash on her. She only has her body. She locked her gaze on the elderly gentleman.
"You jerk!" she said as she reached for a rock. That is how she safeguards herself. "If you don't want to get hit by me, don't come near me!"
Before shaking his head, the man smirked and chuckled. Karina noticed a difference in the way he laughed. She dropped the rock gradually.
She defended herself by saying, "Don't laugh! I'm serious!" but the elderly man merely laughed at her.
Before introducing himself to Karina, the elderly gentleman cleared his throat to appear serious.
"I am Emre, CEO of the renowned Zeus Entertainment," he said proudly.
When Emre noticed Karina's eyebrow barely lift at his acquaintance with the female, his expression deteriorated.
Karina cocked her head. "What makes you think I should believe?"
Emre cleared his throat once more before adjusting his business suit.
He slipped something into his case. This is a newspaper regarding Emre's business.
Karina accepted the newspaper. Her lips parted, and her eyes enlarged slightly. Karina shifted her gaze between the magazine and Emre.
When Emre realized Karina wasn't convinced, he hissed, "You little brat!"
Karina pouted. Before returning the magazine, she informed Emre, "I have trust difficulties!"
Emre restored the magazine to its original location. With a big smile, he turned back to face the girl.
"Can you tell me your name?"
Despite her reservations, Karina offered her complete name. "K-Karina... Karina Perez," she says.
Emre hummed softly. "Karina."
"Uh, where am I? I have no idea where I am right now," Karina bowed slightly.
Karina is the kind of lady that doesn't take care of herself. Work was always on her mind, and she couldn't remember the last time she was free.
Emre smiles and nods.
Karina blinked as she found herself in a car with the only older adult she knew sitting next to her. She couldn't stop thinking about what had happened. Emre was headbanging and keeping up with the beat of the music he was playing inside his vehicle, Karina noticed.
She only shook her head and stared at the road they were driving along.
Because of the massive tower in front of her, Karina's mouth fell as she exited Emre's vehicle. It was her first time seeing it, and she thought it was stunning! She was even more taken aback as she walked in. They were on an elevator, and every time she looked at Emre, he was smiling, and Emre drew his face with arrogance.
This is not your typical house since it appears to be a business from the outside but is a modern home on the inside. You'll start with a hallway. Massive chandeliers are hanging from the hallway's ceiling.
Karina thought to herself, "How affluent."
She will not be able to live this life even if she works all night and three times a day. Emre remained silent and merely allowed her to glance around her at first.
A large doorway stands at the end of the hallway. It opened when Emre muttered something on his wrist and saw a black watch-like object there.
When the door opened, they were met by a lady dressed in a maid's uniform.
"Good Morning, Sir!" It intentionally prolongs the Good Morning pronunciation.
Karina could tell their ages were close based on their looks and actions. When the maid saw Karina, she waved and smiled but quickly returned to her seat, remembering that she was with her employer.
"Has the cat arrived yet?" Emre inquired of the maid.
"Uh, not yet, Sir! But he called to tell me he was coming home and that his house needed to be cleaned!" said the maid to her former boss. "Oh, the cat is already there!" it said, pointing to her back, which Karina did.
When Karina spotted the man who had left her earlier, she instantly scowled! It had a blank expression on its face, and both hands were in his pocket.
The man with no emotions was dressed in a black hoodie, contributing to his gloomy aura.
"Sir, good morning!"
"What's taking you so long to get home?"
Karina's jaw fell when the three of them were ignored, and no answer was given to the man who had just passed them.
"What a terrible jerk," Karina murmured as the man's back was turned away from them.
