Jesse enters the house, and the it was quiet and calm, he looks around the sitting room and sighs.

"Is dad not back yet, why is it so quiet in here, Dad!". Jesse said as he went inside the room, but his dad wasn't there".

"He is not here, where did he go". Jesse muttered and walks towards the kitchen.

"Dad". He calls, as he opens the door of the kitchen, and sees his dad Cooking.

"What are you doing dad". He asked.

And Edward turns to face him.

"Oh Jesse, your back". He said with a smile.

Jesse's eyes scan the food items on the table and then to his Dad.

"Dad, what are you doing, why is there so much to cook".

Edward looks at the food items and smile.

"I was going to surprise you Jesse, but it seems you already caught me in the act".

"Why do you want to surprise me Dad".

"Have you forgotten, why do you always forget about it Jesse".

Jesse rolls his eyes and asked.

"What are you talking about dad, what did I forget".

"Your birthday Jesse".

And Jesse opens his mouth in shock, he didn't even remember today was his birthday.

"That right Dad, today is indeed my birthday, I forgot about it again".

"Well, is no longer a surprise, you Came back home on Time, than I expected.

Jesse smiles and said.

"I will take it back".

"Take what back".

Jesse smile again and walks up to him.

"I will pretend I never saw any of this, I will go and take a shower, then you can show me your surprise later".

"Really".

"Yes Dad, I Never saw this, so continue with what you are doing, I will be waiting for my surprise". Jesse said with a smile and quickly leaves.

"That little Rascal, I always cerebrate his birthday every year, how could he still forget about his birthday". Edward muttered with a smile and continues cooking.

Edward arrange the food on the table, alongside with a cake, drinks, and desert too, he smiles after seeing the things on the table.

"Is all set, Jesse, Jesse, come out, am done cooking".

Jesse enters the dinning room, and when he sees the things on the table, his jaw dropped in shock.

"Dad, you made all of these". He said looking shock.

"You don't have to pretend to be surprised Jesse".

"No Dad, am really caught by surprise, I didn't expect so much on the table, where did you get the money for all of this Dad".

"I got paid at my work place Jesse, so I thought of preparing all of this, even if is just the two of us".

"But dad, isn't it too much".

"Of course not Jesse, is my only son's birthday today, you deserve it, come on let eat together".

Jesse smiles and sits with his dad.

"Make a wish Jesse". Edward said presenting the cake to him.

Jesse smiles, he closed his eyes, he made a wish, and blew off the candles.

"Happy 13th birthday Jesse". Edward said clapping his hand and smiling.

"Thanks Dad".

"So what did you wish for".

"Wishes are supposed to be kept secret right".

"Come on Jesse, tell me what you wish for, who knows I might be able to Grant that wish for you".

"Really you will".

"Yes I can".

Jesse looks at him and smile.

"Well my wish is for you to always stay with me forever, I always want someone to always remind me about my birthday...you are the only family I have ever since mom died, I can't live without you Dad, will you be able to Grant me my wish, will you stay with me forever, and never leave my side".

Edward smile and caress Jesse's hair.

"Of course I will Jesse, where will I go...am always going to be by your side always". Edward said caressing his hair smiling.

"Promise".

"Cross my heart to die son, let eat Jesse, and you shouldn't be wearing a sad face on your birthday, dad will always be here for you". Edward said.

Jesse looks at his dad and smiles.

FLORENCE HIGH SCHOOL.

Jesse sits with his friends in the classroom, T-chatting with them, since the homeroom teacher went on a leave.

"You're so lucky Jesse, at least you have a dad who still reminds you about your birthday, as for my dad, he doesn't care if I exist or not, all he cares about is drinking and getting drunk". Dre said.

"My dad is the best Dad in the whole world, and that why he is so important to me". Jesse said smiling.

"But he is not the only one important to you right". Sam asked smiling.

"Huh, what are you talking about, my Dad is the only important person in my life, no one else".

"Really".

"Of course Dre, who else is important to me apart from my Dad huh!". He half yells.

And Anna Walks in with her two friends, T-chatting and laughing, and Jesse looks at her glups down nothing, admiring her beautiful she looks.

Her eyes were the prettiest eyes he has ever seen, her face was round and small, her smiles were one in a million, no wonder she was the beautiful queen of Florence High, Jesse thought within himself, as he continues looking at Anna, and he could feel his heart beating like a drumming drum.

Dre waves his hand near Jesse's eyes, but he didn't blink, his whole eyes and brains were fitted on Anna, who was still T-chatting and laughing with her friends.

How could she be so beautiful, is she an angel from heaven, that might have probably come to Earth to live among humans.

Sam pinch him and he quickly came back to the land of the living.

"What was that for Sam". Jesse asked.

"Looks like you finally came back to life, it seems you were dead a while ago, I knew it, your Dad isn't the only important person in your life". Dre said laughing.

"My Dad is the only one important to me, do I need to say it a hundred and one times, before it get stuck in your ears."

"Then what about Anna". Dre asked pointing at Anna who was so forcus talking to her friends.

"Huh". Jesse muttered.

"I know you have a crush on Anna Jesse, you are always staring at her, but you both are world aparts, she is rich, and you are poor, we only attend this school because of a scholarship,,I guess that why you can't tell her, you have a crush on her". Dre said.

"I don't have a crush on Anna Dre, I might be poor, but Anna is not my type of girl,why will I have a crush on her, she so full of herself because her dad is Rich".

"Whatever then,but I know you still have a crush on Anna". Sam said with a giggle, and leaves the class with Dre, who was also laughing too.

"You both are so annoying". Jesse said to them as they left the class.

He turns his gaze at Anna, and she was still T-chatting and laughing with her friends, flirting with her hair.

"She is so beautiful". Jesse muttered with a smile, but the moment Anna looks at him, he quickly looked away, pretending he was so forcus in his book.

"Why is he always so shy to look at me". Anna muttered.

She looks at him again and chuckles with a smiles.

Jesse sits in the sofa of their small sitting room, looking at Anna's picture which was in a frame, and there were smiles all over his face.

"She is so beautiful, if not that she is always hanging out with those rich friends of hers, I would have talked to her.....why is she always hanging out with those arrogant fools...but anyways, she is still my princess". He giggles with a smile caressing the frame.

Jesse's eyes went towards the clock, and it was already 8:25 pm.

"Is already late, why is dad not yet back from work". Jesse muttered.

He took his phone and dial his dad's number, it ringed for a while before Edward picked up.

📞Hello son. Edward said over the phone as he was busy working in the factory.

"Dad why ain't you home yet, is already late".

📞 I will Jesse, I have a lot of work here.

"Really dad, is it going to take long".

📞Yes it will, Don't bother waiting for me, eat dinner and go to bed, I will be back before you know it.

"Okay Dad, but don't over stress yourself okay, I will warm up something so you can eat when you get back".

📞Okay Jesse, take care of yourself okay.

"I will Dad".

Jesse could hear a voice over the phone.

📞I will sir, just a second.... Jesse doesn't stay up to wait for me, I have to hang up now.

"Why are they making him work so hard". He muttered looking so sad.

Edward continues checking the wrist watch in his hand, and at the same time working.

"You keep glancing at your watch, are you going somewhere". Antonio, his work mate and friend asked.

"You don't have to lie about it Edward, you have a date with a woman right".

"Then why are you in a hurry to leave".

"I want to go home".

"See, I was right, you want to go home to Meet your girlfriend right". Antonio asked smiling.

"Of course not Antonio, I have a son who is waiting for me, and he won't listen to me if I tell him to go to bed without me am sure he is still waiting for me to come home, that why am in a hurry to leave, so he can be at ease".

And Paulson enters the factory talking to a man.

"What is he doing here". Antonio asked.

Edward looks at Paulson and back to Antonio.

"Who is he". He asked.

"He is the owner of this factory". Antonio answers.

"Really,,but how come I have never seen him".

"That because he has been out of the country, he barely comes to the factory.....I wonder why he is here". Antonio said, and Edward looks at Paulson.

Anna sits in her bed smiling, as she Sketch something on her drawing book smiling.

Her room was big and beautiful, it was decorated all pink, infact very single thing in her room were all Pink, and it made looks as if it was Barbie's room.

Let say Anna was the most beautiful girl one has ever seen, her smiles was enough to make anyone go Gaga.

She was the first child of her parents, she also had a little kid brother too.

She was born with a silver spoon, and has live in luxury for the 12 years of her life, she was given everything she has always wanted and has always lived the life of a princess, everything about her was so gorgeous, and it makes people often wonder if she was really human.

Anna continues sketching the drawing as her smiles never left her face.

Her mom enters the room, and sees her smiling.

"Someone looks happy". Her mom said.

And Anna looks at her with a smile.

"So what my angel sketching, can I have a look". Loretta said with a smile.

Anna nods and gives her the drawing book.

Loretta looks at the image she sketched and back to Anna.

"Who is he Anna".

"That Jesse mom, he is my classmate in school".

"Mmm, this is getting interesting". Loretta said and sits beside Anna.

"So tell me more about this Jesse Anna".

Anna rolls her eyes and said.

"There is nothing to know about him mom, he is just my classmate".

"Yes mom, I find him funny, he is very cheerful, and I Know I have been in that school just recently, but I can see how kind hearted he is, is as if his heart is made of roses, the only thing is that, he doesn't talk to me, and I always caught him so many times looking at me, but when I do look at him, he looks away immediately, is as if he is always shy to talk to me,,,do you know why". Anna asked.

Loretta smiles and caress Anna's hair.

"You are going to find out soon Anna, maybe not now, since you both are still young, but as for now just concentrate on your studies okay, and when the right time comes, you are going to find out why he is always shy to look at you, yourself".

"Really, why don't you just tell me". Anna said.

"No Anna, I won't say anything to you, just concentrate on your studies, and let it be your priority".

"Of course mom, having the best result is my first priority before anything else".

Anna looks at the sketch she made and smiles.

"It really looks like him, I wonder why he doesn't talk to me..... should I be the one to talk to him first, maybe I should ask him to be my friend too".

"He is just so cute". Anna said smiling, and continues with the sketching.

Edward was about leaving the factory building, when he was stopped by the manager.

"Are you going home". He asked.

"Yes I am sir".

"Don't go yet".

"Why sir, is there a problem".

"No Edward, but there are few things I want you to drop in the basement, it concerns the factory".

"Can't I do that tomorrow, I really want to go home".

"I Know that Edward, but among the whole workers here, you are the only one I trust, so please help me out with this".

Edward sighs and said.

"Fine, I will sir".

"Thanks alot, come with me". The manager said, and Edward had no choice but to go with him.

Edward carefully dropped the items inside the basement, and he was about to leave, when he heard voices from inside the basement.

"Who could that be". He asked and walks closer, only to see a man kneeling on the floor in a pool of blood, he also saw Paulson and a few men, who were probably his body guards.

"Sir Paulson,....what is he doing here". He muttered, as he watched the scene in front of him..

"Please Paulson, don't kill me, I have a family, that still needs me so badly". The man on his knees pleaded.

"Oh really, you didn't care about them, when you choose to inform the police about me". Paulson said.

"I only want to help you Paulson, you are always involving yourself in something illegal".

"Ohhhh, that why you wanted to inform the police about me, maybe you have forgotten, that I am the law!!". Paulson yells.

"Am sorry Paulson, I promise this won't repeat itself, I won't tell anyone about your illegal jobs, no one is ever going to find out about your numorous crimes".

"Sorry Matteo, but I don't give second chances, I can't let this slide". He said with a smirk, he took a gun from one of his men and face Matteo again.

"That why am going to end your life, right here and now".

"Please Don't, don't kill me, am begging of you Paulson, I have a family please!. Matteo cries out.

"Any last word". Paulson said, he smiles devilishly and pulls the trigger trice on Matteo, and he died instantly.

On seeing what just happened, Edward became so scared, he quickly turns to leave, but ended a up making a sound.

"Who is there!". Paulson half yells looking around, and sees Edward, and Edward looks at Paulson, and flinched in fear.

"Who are you". Paulson asked.

But Edward ignored his question, and quickly took to his hills.

"Go after that Bastard, he saw what happened, he might tell on me, go quickly!!". Paulson ordered his men, and they quickly went after Edward.

Edward ran as fast as his legs could carry him, as Paulson's men keeps chasing after him, he quickly find a place to hide, so he can't be seen by Paulson's men, and when they passed him, he came out from his hiding place, trying to caught his breath.

"What....on... Earth..did..I see, what did I get myself into, Sir Paulson is a criminal,I have to go into hiding,I don't know will happen to me, if he sees me". Edward said breathing so hard, and took to his hills again.

Edward enters the house, and sees Jesse sleeping in the sofa, he has been waiting for him to come home, and fell asleep.

Edward looks at his son, he is still too young to be left alone in this world, he is only 13 years old, how is he going to survive alone in this world, if by chance he gets killed by Paulson.

He cleans the tears in his eyes, and walks closer to his son, who was already fast asleep.

"Jesse, Jesse". He muttered tapping him, gently.

Jesse slowly opens his eyes, and sees his dad looking at him.

"Dad, you are back".

"Yes I am, why are you sleeping here jesse". He asked caressing his hair.

"I was waiting for you dad, but I fell asleep in the process".

"I thought I told you to go to bed without me, you are always so stubborn Jesse".

"I couldn't Dad, my mind won't be at ease, knowing that you aren't yet back....but dad why are you restless, and you are sweating all over, have you been running". Jesse asked looking at his dad.

Edward looks at Jesse, and pulls him into a hug.

"Don't worry Jesse, no matter what happens, dad is never going to leave your side, am always going to be here for you Jesse always, no matter what happens". Edward said caressing Jesse's hair, and he used the other hand to wipe away the tears in his eyes.

Jesse disengage the hug and looks at his dad.

"Did something happen at the factory, why are you sounding as if your life is in danger".

"Nothing happened at the factory Jesse, your dad is okay". Edward said trying to wear a convincing smile.

"You must be so exhausted from work, you should take a shower dad, I will warm up the food for you, since is already Cold". Jesse said and stood up to leave, but Edward held his hand.

"What wrong Dad".

"Go to bed Jesse, you have school tomorrow right".

"I do dad, but ain't you hungry, you must have worked alot at the factory". Jesse said with a concern look.

"No Jesse, am not hungry".

"Are you sure dad, maybe I should just warm...."

"I'm not hungry son, I don't have the urge to eat right now".

"Ain't you sleeping yet". Jesse asked again.

"I will join you later Jesse".

"Good night son". Edward said and hugs his son, before he left for the bed room.

Edward sits in the sofa, and his mind flashback to how Paulson had killed the man.

"I can't leave Jesse alone in this world, am all he has, I can't leave behind, I can't die, I don't want to leave my son behind". Edward muttered as tears Falls down his eyes.

PAULSON'S MANSION

"What!!!!, You didn't find him". Paulson yells at his men, when they informed about the fact that couldn't find Edward.

"We searched everywhere for him sir Paulson, but we couldn't find him". One of them answers.

"And you all came back empty handed!!!,...who was that man anyway, and what was he doing there at the basement".

"I guess he is one of the factory workers sir Paulson, I have seen him a couple of times in the factory".

"So he is one of the factory workers". Paulson asked.

"Yes sir Paulson, and I think that why he knows where the basement was located".

"Listen, that man saw what I did earlier, no one must know I killed the great Matteo, that why I need to get rid of that man, before he tells anyone about what he saw, find that bastard and bring him to me, he has to die". Paulson said wearing an angry face.

Jesse and Dre enters the school compound T-chatting and laughing, and Jesse keeps using his back to Walk inside the school, lost in the conversation he was having with Dre.

And when he turns to face his front, he bumped into Anna, who was also running towards the entrance of the school crying.

"Am sorry Anna, are you okay". He asked .

"I'm fine, I have to go". She said between tears, she made to leave, but Jesse held her hand.

"Wait Anna, why are you crying, is everything okay". He asked with so much concerned.

Anna jerks his hands off and ran out of the school hicupping in tears.

"I have no idea Dre, this is the first time I have seen her like this, I wonder if everything is okay with her". Jesse muttered looking so worried.

PAULSON'S MANSION

Paulson sits in the sofa of his luxurious sitting room, smoking a cigarette, when Antonio was brought to him.

"You...ask for me Sir Paulson". Antonio muttered looking around.

"That because I need a favor from you". Paulson said blowing off the cigarette smoke into the air.

"I do sir Paulson, he is my friend, and we worked together in the factory".

"I had some school works to do dad that why I Came home late, why are you so angry at me". He asked still looking shock.

Edward sighs and hugs his son.

"Because you are my son, and I don't want anything bad to happen to you".

Jesse disengage the hug and looks at him.

"Why will something bad happen to me Dad, are we in trouble, you have been acting weird lately".

"No son, we aren't in any trouble, I just want you to becareful, is not save out there anymore, that why you always have to come home early okay, and if you notice that someone is following you, shout for help immediately".

Jesse raised his eyebrows in Confussion.

"Thanks son, go in now and have Shower, I will set the table for us to eat".

"You told sir Paulson where I live, why the hell did you do that!!". He yells.

📞He asked for it and that why...... Hello Edward, Edward.....huh, he hang up, shouldn't be be thanking me". Antonio said and sighs.

"Dad is everything okay, who is sir Paulson". Jesse asked with a confused face.

"Jesse, get your things ready, we need to leave immediately". Edward said with a shaking voice.

"Why Dad, where are we going".

"Stop asking me questions and do as I have said!!". Edward yells.

"What if I don't get to see your beautiful face again after I leave, I couldn't get to know the reason why you were crying, I hope you are okay Anna". He said and kiss the picture, before putting inside his luggage.

"Even if this is so confusing right now, I have to do what dad said". Jesse said with a sigh, and continues arranging his clothes inside the luggage.

Edward was still panicking in fear, when he heard a knock on the door, and he looks towards the door.

"Who could that be". He said in a voice that could hardly be heard.

He went to the open the door and was Shocked to see Paulson and his men.

"Hi Edward". Paulson said with a smirk.

Edward flinched in fear, and tries to look the door, but one of Paulson's men dragged him outside, and made him fall on his knees.

"What.....do....you...want form me". Edward starmmed in fear.

"You already know what I want from you Edward Kulas".

"What do you want".

Paulson Chuckles and walks around Edward.

"You saw something that you shouldn't have seen, and I don't want any obstacles during my campaign, that why am here to shut your mouth completely". Paulson with a smirk, and Edward looks at him.

Meanwhile Jesse came out from the room with his luggage, he looks around the sitting room, and couldn't find his dad.

"Huh, where did he go". He muttered, and hears voices from outside.

He walks towards the window, and Peeps outside, only to find his dad on his knees, there were lot of men on suit outside, and also a man too.

"Who is that man, and why is dad on his knees". Jesse muttered.

"What are you talking about sir Paulson, I didn't see anything". Jesse could hear his dad say, and he raised his eyebrows in Confussion.

Paulson Chuckles again and said.

"You don't have to lie Edward, because I saw you at the basement, you heard and saw everything I did, and am someone who always removes every single crocoches in my closet". Paulson said and bring out a gun.

And Jesse gasps in shock.

"Please sir Paulson, didn't kill me, I promise I won't say a word about what I saw, I won't tell anyone one, spare my life Sir Paulson, I beg of you". Edward pleaded with tears already falling down his eyes.

"Sorry Edward, but I don't trust people's words, any last word".

"Huh". Edward muttered.

And before he could alter a word, Paulson pulls the trigger at Edward twice, and Edward falls to the blood, vomiting out blood from his mouth.

Hot tears falls down Jesse's eyes the moment he sees his dad struggling with Life.

The only family he has ever know was in a pool of blood.

The only one who struggles to put food on their tables and make him happy was on the floor.

The only person who ever reminds him about his birthday just got shut.

The one person he loves so much in this world, is struggling to breath.

Jesse looks at his dad from the window, his mouth was already covered in blood.

"Dad!!!!!". He yells as more tears falls down his eyes.

Paulson looks at the direction where Jesse was standing, and before he could see him, Jesse quickly hides.

"Get whosoever is in that house!!". Paulson yells.

"Yes Sir Paulson". His men said at the same time.

Edward grab one of Paulson's leg, bleeding from his mouth, and he was in great plains.

"Please...spare my son's life..... don't... don't kill him...I beg of you....please.....don't... Kill...him....too". Edward said crying, as he struggles to breath.

Paulson jerks his hands off, he pulls the trigger on Edward twice again, and Edward dies instantly.

"What are you are still waiting for, go get his kid too, since he saw me mudering his dad, he has to die too."

Jesse heard what he said from inside, and before the men could enter the house, he took to his hill.

He escape through the back door, and Burst out into the street, running and crying at the Same time, calling his dad's name.

As he ran for his dear life, his mind went back to how his dad was short, and more tears falls down his eyes.

"That the kid". Jesse could hear one of Paulson's men Said, as they chase after him.

Jesse looks back in tears, and these men were getting closer to him, and even his feets hurts so much, he continues running as fast as he can, but this men weren't ready to give up.

While on the run, he stepped on something and falls to the floor, unable to move from the spot he was.

"We have Finally caught you little punk, there is no more escape for you". One of Paulson's men said, as they began walking closer to Jesse.

Jesse hicups in tears, as he crawls backward, since he couldn't stand on his feet right now, his face were filled with tears and fears.

"Help me!!, help me!!, someone please help!!". Jesse screams crying.

The men looks at him and laugh.

"No one can ever come to your rescue little kid". One of them said.

And the rest laugh again.

Just as they were about to capture Jesse, a woman in a veil blocked them from coming here him.

And she began attacking the men one after the other, hitting and kicking their buts and faces.

And the men had no choice but to run for their lives.

The woman in veiled turns to at Jesse, and Jesse flinched in fear.
