Chapter 1 You Can't Afford the Liquidated Damages

Emma Carter felt pain all over.

She groaned, opened her eyes, and found that she was in a strange room. A man and a woman were having a conversation outside the room, which was really annoying.

The man begged, "Aunt, she hasn't woken up yet. I suggest you not go in right now."

Jessica Turner yelled sharply, "Don't stop me. I just want to see if this little girl is dead!"

Emma had a terrible pain on her head. She sat up on the bed and stroked her forehead.

Where was she?

"Let me in!" The woman's voice was harsh.

Just then, the door was pushed open, and then a middle-aged woman with heavy makeup came straight to Emma. The woman grabbed Emma's collar and dragged her to the ground like she was just a bag of flour, and then slapped her directly with force.

"Snap!"

Emma's head became even dizz, covering her face while observing the woman dressed like a large cockscomb.

"Judy Carter! I knew you were up to no good when you came to our house, and you dared to use the car privately. Look how you crashed the car, can you afford to pay the loss?"

Emma didn't understand what the mentally ill woman was talking about, let alone why she called herself Judy. She only had a scene about how the woman slapped her in her mind. Emma had never allowed herself to suffer because of others since she was a child. Instead, she always paid back whatever others gave to her, whether it was good or bad.

Therefore, she ignored the pain on her body, pulled the woman's clothes to support herself standing up, and slapped the woman's face without hesitation.

"Snap!"

This slap not only made the woman in a daze, but also directly frightened the flat-headed man at the door.

Five seconds later, the woman came back to her senses, fiercely trying to fight back, "Little bastard, how dare you hit me!"

Emma was not afraid and fought with the woman.

Seeing the messy situation, the flat-headed man hurried over to separate the two with efforts. He forcibly pulled "cockscomb" out of the room, and kept comforting her, "Aunt, don't get angry. You don't have to care about her."

The woman still cursed loudly, "Out of my way! I will kill her today."

The flat-headed man coaxed and extorted her, "It would only embarrass you if you deal with her in person. Rest assured, I'll make her suffer later..."

The conversation between the two gradually became lower. Emma sat down at the desk nearby, looking around this small single room. Some items were familiar to her, and finally her eyes fell on a simple plastic photo frame.

It was a photo of her and her sister hugging each other.

Emma held the photo frame in her hands, and the scene before the accident flashed in her mind.

According to her father, her elder sister Judy had married a man of a wealthy family. She didn't believe it, so she asked for leave from school and went to this city to find her sister. When her sister just finished explaining to her what had happened, a taxi flashed out at the corner ahead. Her sister hurriedly turned the steering wheel, but it was too late when the two cars smashed into each other solidly.

Emma shivered after recalling that scene, and her eyes went dark all of a sudden.

"Judy!"

When she sounded that out, she was really surprised. She was dumb. For twenty years of her life, she rarely made any noise except for the weird screaming when she was angry, let alone calling her sister clearly.

What was happening was too puzzling.

"How could this be?" Emma said timidly again.

At this time, the flat-headed man returned. He looked at Emma who was holding the photo frame and exclaimed, "You are now capable enough to beat Jessica? Aren't you afraid that she might not make it easy on you?"

"Jessica... Who is she? And who are you?" Emma asked in surprise.

"Mr. Turner's aunt, and I'm Mike Cotton. Why, can't you even recognize me?" Mike walked up to her, stretched out his hand, and shook in front of her eyes, "The doctor said you are very lucky to be okay after being hit like that. Seems like you are not as okay as the doctor claimed."

"Where is this place?" Emma stood up and asked in confusion.

"This is the Turner Family. Judy, were you knocked stupid?"

"What do you call me?" Emma really began to wonder if she was stupid, or she was in a dream exactly.

"Judy, or what should I call you, Queen Mother?" Mike looked at her up and down, "Look at your dirty clothes. Change them later."

Emma turned to look at a hanging mirror on the wall, and then opened her mouth wide. Compared to the mess on her body, she was even more surprised by her brand new but familiar face.

She supported her cheeks with her hands, her eyes staring roundly, "Judy!"

That's right, the face in the mirror was exactly the same as that of her sister Judy.

How was this possible! This must be a dream, right?

Emma squeezed her cheek. It was painful. Thinking of something again, she asked, "Where is my sister?"

Mike was stunned, "Oh, you mean another girl in the car. She...she still needs to stay in the hospital for two days, and then she should be discharged soon."

"I want to see her in the hospital."

"I just picked you up from there. Madam will not let you out. I know you care about your family, but now is not the time." Mike pondered, "How about this? Tomorrow, I will find a way to take you there tomorrow to see... I believe that's your younger sister?"

"Why don't you let me out? Why do you keep me here? I don't care, let me go."

Emma walked to the door in a hurry, and Mike grabbed her, "Judy, why have you suddenly become so self-willed? Don't forget that you have an agreement with the Turner Family. If you irritate them, can you afford the liquidated damages?"

"What agreement?" Emma couldn't understand what he was talking about.

At this time, a sudden harsh sound made her shiver.

Immediately afterwards, a thick male voice outside the door screamed, "Get out, get out of here!"

After hearing this, Mike immediately turned and went out. Emma also curiously followed to see what had happened. When she walked to the door, she happened to see the door of the opposite room being pushed open, and a maid sighed bitterly and escaped with a tray in her hand, which was full of broken plates and cups.

Before the door was closed, Emma glanced at the room and saw a tall man in a wheelchair.

The reason why she failed to ignore the man's height was that his two towering knees were really eye-catching, as well as his hanger-like upper body and long neck.

His hair was a bit messy, so Emma couldn't see his appearance clearly, but his thin cheeks and thin sharp lips could still make people faintly feel how rebellious this person was.

Mike told Emma, "Go change your clothes. It's already dirty. As for the agreement, I will explain to you later."

Emma nodded blankly and returned to the room she was in just now.

Chapter 2 Unequal Treaties

"Mr. Turner." Mike called to the man in the wheelchair, "The young master is back today, and Old Mr. and Mrs. Turner want you to join them for dinner."

The man in the wheelchair looked out the window, turned his back to Mike, and said after a long time, "I'm not going."

"Won't you join them even if the young master wants you there?"

"Just tell them I'm not feeling well and it's inconvenient to attend, lest everyone be embarrassed."

Mike pouted helplessly and went out.

Despite all the signs that Emma's soul was in her sister's body, she still thought it was unbelievable.

She stood in front of the mirror and looked at the face of "her sister", trying to call her own name in her mouth.

"Emma, Emma."

That's right. That was her sister's voice.

She panicked for a while and thought, "If I became my sister, then where would my sister be? Was she already in my body? And we just changed our bodies?"

Emma was eager to see her "sister", but she didn't know which hospital to look for, and there was no phone at hand. Thinking of what Mike had said about taking her to the hospital tomorrow, she decided to wait in the end.

She took off the dirty clothes on her body and found two bruises on her right thigh and waist. In addition, the striped scars on her arm were the most eye-catching.

How did this happen? Someone beat her?

Emma opened the door of the cabinet in confusion, looking for a clean dress to change. At this time, a blue folder fell from the cabinet and hit the floor.

She stooped to pick it up and glanced at the large letters on the cover - The Agreement.

Emma sat down in front of the desk and began to read it. On the first page, it was clearly written that Party B, Judy Carter, and Party A, Bob Turner, had agreed on the marriage by agreement. At first, she only had a slightly confused expression, but then she frowned. When she finished reading the last page, she felt as if her chest was blocked by a boulder and she couldn't breathe.

--Party B needs to be on standby for 24 hours. Party B must try her best to meet any requirements of Party A. Even if Party A wants to eat pasta at two in the middle of the night, she must go to the kitchen to cook it immediately.

--In addition to Party A, Party B has to obey other tasks assigned by any one of the Turner Family, and must not refuse or contradict anyone.

--Party B must prepare and deliver three meals for Party A in time every day, and the clothing and bedding must be changed frequently.

--Without Party A's permission, Party B is not allowed to take a half-step out of Turner's house. If Party B wants to go out for activities, she must ask for leave in advance to report...

--Party B's annual salary is two hundred thousand RMB. On April 1st each year, Party A shall pay the annual salary to Party B's father William Carter, and shall not be in arrears...

--The Agreement includes but is not limited to the above content, and supplementary explanation will be made according to the specific situation in the future. The right of final interpretation of this agreement belongs to Party A, Bob Turner, and the Turner Family. If Party B breaches the contract, she shall pay Party A a penalty of RMB 10 million...

This Bob, couldn't he marry someone or hire a maid? How could he be so domineering?

Emma was trembling with anger and closed the agreement forcefully. What kind of agreement was this? It was obviously an unequal treaty that humiliated Party B!

Moreover, it seemed that her bastard father was somehow involved. Otherwise, why was he the one who got her sister's annual salary?

But Emma was still confused, wondering why her kind-hearted and innocent sister would sign such an agreement, and why her sister didn't even mention anything to her?

Fortunately, there was also such a term in the contract: the employment relationship can end after Bob recovers. When it ends, Party B Judy will receive a lump-sum payment of one million yuan as compensation for divorce.

One million!

Emma's heart trembled, but she pulled herself together, "Even if it's a salary of one million, she shouldn't do this to herself!"

She pulled out a floral dress from the cabinet, put it on, and walked out of the room lightly. She was about to ask Mike about the details of this absurd agreement and the arrangement of when and how they would go to the hospital tomorrow.

The door of the wheelchair man's room was closed tightly. Emma stuck to the wall and drew away quickly as if the man was a monster.

When she came to the living room, she sighed sincerely that this house was really big, and when she walked into the yard, she finally knew how it felt like to see someone richer and something more spectacular than one could imagine.

The house she was in was next to a bigger white building, no, it should be called a villa. The villa had three stories, with unique shapes and simple but gorgeous lines.

What was even more surprising was the view of the courtyard. The ecological fish pond on the east side and the luxurious swimming pool on the west side reflected each other. Adjacent to the fish pond was a small rockery surrounded by green plants and flowing fountains, which resembled a corner of a park.

Emma looked dumbfounded, and couldn't help but say, "Do they have to make it so luxurious?"

"Have you not got used to this yet?"

Emma was taken aback by the sudden question and dropped to the ground. She then turned her head and saw it was a man who was about 60 years old.

With gray hair, the man was in a large cardigan made of plain linen, which looked quite chic and unrestrained.

"Hey, did I scare you?" The man felt funny when he saw her sitting on the floor rascally, "Mike said that you still feel a little uncomfortable, so you won't eat with us, but you ran into the yard."

"You...who are you?"

The man was a little surprised, "Mike said you can't remember anyone for the time being, but you can't even recognize me?"

At this moment, Mike hurriedly ran over, "Judy, don't you stand up and say hello. This is Mr. Turner, Mr. Turner's father."

Emma got up and patted her butt, and then she said, "Oh, hello, Mr. Turner."

"You can call me Uncle. You've always called me that way before."

"Uncle Turner." She nodded.

Although Mr. Turner had a serious face, his eyes were very kind.

"Well, are you really fine? Mike said that the car was crashed and even deformed."

"I... seem to be fine." Emma squeezed her arm.

"Don't take it to your heart. The insurance company will take care of it. Since you are okay, why don't you join us for dinner?" Mr. Turner invited her enthusiastically.

Emma smiled faintly, "Okay, I happen to be hungry." She was indeed a little hungry.

Emma followed Mr. Turner into the main building and found that five pairs of eyes were staring at her. From the analysis of their facial expressions, at least four people dismissed her, while the fifth person...

Emma stared at the young man in a daze.

Mike hurried to Emma's ear to introduce in a whisper-the three sitting on the sofa by the floor-to-ceiling window were the second lady of the Turner Family, Dora Turner, Mrs. Turner, and Dora's aunt, Jessica Turner. And the other two men were Dora's husband, Tom Smith, and her little brother, the third master of the Turner Family.

"Joy Turner!" Emma's voice was not too loud, but still produced a faint echo in this empty space.

She looked surprised and excited at the handsome man wearing a loose gray hoodie and half-shielding his eyes with hair on his forehead. She had never thought that her favorite musician was the third son of the Turner Family!

Chapter 3 Excluded in the Family Banquet

Hearing the woman called his name, Joy was taken aback for a moment, then he looked straight at Emma, stood up, and walked towards her.

This was actually the first time they had met. Joy usually concentrated on creation. In the words of Mr. Turner, he "bad friends all the time". Coupled with some performances and so on, he rarely came back home. So every time he came back, his family would gather as much as possible.

"Do you know me?" Joy stood in front of Emma with a faint smile on his face.

"I like every song of yours." She remembered the days when she was rushing for school. It was Joy's singing that accompanied her going through those difficult years.

"That's too official an answer," Joy was slightly dissatisfied, "Which one do you like best?"

"Of course it's "Blue Whale". I played it single cycle for a long time. Can I have your autograph, please?" Emma forgot herself and started chasing her idol immediately.

As soon as Joy opened his mouth, Mrs. Turner interrupted them.

"Hurry up, let's have dinner."

The members of the Turner Family found their places in front of a rectangular wooden dining table that was more than three meters long. Mr. Turner sat in the main seat, with Mrs. Turner, Jessica Turner, Dora and her husband Tom Smith on his right, while Joy on his left.

Emma stared at the spare places, feeling that she should sit along Joy's side, but she was a bit shy, so she deliberately sat a seat further from him.

But before her butt was against the chair, Dora said, "Hey, you are not allowed to sit there."

Emma thought that she had committed some taboo, and quickly stood up straight, "Oh, where should I sit then?"

Dora pointed to the chair farthest from the main seat, "There."

Emma looked over there. There was no tableware in front of the chair, and it was so far from the rich delicacy that she could not get the food even if she stood up. Then she saw the sinister smile on Jessica's face and realized that they were doing this to her on purpose.

"Dora," Mr. Turner stared at his daughter, "how could you say that? Judy is our guest."

Dora looked aggrieved, "Dad, it's awkward to eat with outsiders."

"Judy is our distinguished guest." Mr. Turner emphasized.

In order not to embarrass Mr. Turner, Emma had to accept Dora's proposal, "It's okay, I can sit there. I'm only coming over today to meet all of you."

Dora sneered and looked at her mother, "Hehe, that's funny. You say that as if any of us wants to know you?"

For a while, Emma stared at Dora who had accepted a cosmetic surgery on her face. This person, from her head to toe and from the inside to the outside, including her exaggerated black and white striped wrap dress, was so... bitchy!

Same as her aunt.

Emma remembered that was exactly how the most beautiful girl in her high school had done to her face, so she looked down on such people in her heart.

Emma had a plan in her mind, sitting there according to Dora's arrangement, which happened to be face-to-face with Mr. Turner from a long distance. She wanted to show everyone in the family how the guests were treated in their home.

But two steps later, her arm was caught by a warm palm, followed by Joy's tingling voice, "Sit in my seat."

Before she could react, she was pulled by Joy to Mr. Turner and sat down.

Joy took the seat next to Emma, while Dora sitting on the opposite was so angry that her eyes burst into flames, shouting angrily, "Joy!"

Joy picked up a tempting piece of meat, leaned forward, and put it on his second sister's plate, "Come on, beauty, this is your favorite braised pig's feet. Don't always get angry. It will aggravate your smile lines."

When Dora heard the smile lines, she felt as if she was struck by lightning. She raised her hand to touch her face, her expression slightly startled, and then she rolled her eyes against Joy, "Why are you helping an outsider?"

Mr. Turner also put one in Emma's bowl, "This is the braised pig's feet, Mrs. Stock's specialty to be exact. Have a taste. You have just been in a car accident. Although you are lucky not to get hurt, you still have to make up for it."

Mrs. Turner hurriedly picked up food for her husband, "You, you are still caring about others, but you should eat more as well. Your appetite is getting worse recently. Take care of yourself."

Since the topic was shifted to health, the Turner Family, especially Tom, explained the benefits of various nutrients to the body patiently.

Emma breathed a sigh of relief, staring at the sumptuous delicacy on the table and sighing, "Is this Mrs. Stock a star chef? How did she make such a table of dishes? Especially the plate of steamed lobster, the sauce is fat and flesh is thick, which makes people salivate."

She glanced at Joy secretly and felt relieved when she saw him focusing on his meal without a word.

She couldn't believe that she could eat with her idol on the same table, and even at such a close distance. The fate was really amazing.

Emma began to worry if she was dreaming. If it was a dream, she really hoped that she would never wake up.

With her idol by her side, she was very restrained when she ate. She took a few bites of the pig's feet.

Thinking of Dora's insult to herself just now, Emma felt that she had to eat this meal with dignity. It was fine if she hadn't seen any of these dishes before, but she couldn't show that in front of them. Therefore, she slowed down her pace chewing the food and shifted her gaze from the delicious delicacy to Mr. Turner's face, listening to him tell stories that she didn't understand.

After a while, Dora looked at her father with a flattering expression and mentioned something about their business, "Dad, Tom has been in contact with a few foreign businessmen these days, and they've agreed on some terms to some extent. Now they only need my big brother to come back to the company to make the final decision, but..." Dora said with a distressed and embarrassed look, "Now that he wouldn't get better for a while, and the company needs someone to be managed. What about letting Tom act as an agent for a few days?"

Mr. Turner seemed unhappy, "Your elder brother is not feeling well. Does it mean that I am not capable to manage the company as well? Why can't you tell me?"

"Dad," Dora groaned, "I'm concerned about your body and want you to enjoy your days in peace."

Seeing that his father-in-law was not in a good mood, Tom hurriedly pulled Dora's skirt under the table and said with a smile on his face, "Don't worry. The foreign businessmen can wait. I believe our big brother will get better soon."

Emma snorted inwardly. She didn't expect that it was popular in this rich family to stab her sibling in the back? Taking advantage of her big brother's bad physical condition, she even wanted her husband to replace her brother instead? Emma even began to feel sorry for the eldest one.

Mrs. Turner noticed Emma's gaze and thought she wanted to participate in the discussion of those family topics, so she asked with a sullen face, "Judy, have you prepared Bob's dinner?"
