Dogs Saving the World

Author: : jenny1994315
Genre: Adventure
Even though he merely rescued a stray dog after school, Claude unexpectedly became the 'chosen one for dogs,' burdened with the task of guarding the gates of hell, a role he vehemently refused in his heart. Yet, in this relentless world, there was no escape. Hellcats infiltrated the mortal realm, ruthlessly slaughtering the innocent. The enigmatic Azure Faction organization instilled panic, while the name of Satan echoed through the dark of night... Thus, an ordinary high schooler donned multiple layers of disguise, and legends of Shifangcheng started to multiply. Golden retrievers, Samoyeds, border collies, German shepherds; protagonists, antagonists, undercover agents, judges-the canine personas vividly acted out my intertwined history of love and hate, inadvertently saving the world. A regular high school student casually passed by a battleground, offering a faint smile as they neatly tucked away the battle-worn dog costumes back into their backpack.

Chapter 1 DogToy

Inside the city, dusk settled deeply, and several streetlamps stood alongside the road, casting a bleak white light akin to the cool glow of the moon. The cold wind whistled through the alleys, provoking pitiful howls from stray dogs.

Despite being a prosperous metropolis with the highest economic and cultural strength in the country, the nightlife of its citizens couldn't compare to that of small towns and villages. After nightfall, every household shuts its doors and windows, rarely venturing out unless absolutely necessary. "They say Su Fang City is the gateway between our world and hell. Going out at night might expose you to demons crawling out of hell to claim lives," the girl walked down the road with a flashlight, tightly gripping her friend's arm, "so the locals here tend to go out and return early, avoiding the night altogether."

"The rules at your hotel are truly odd," another girl remarked with a touch of disapproval while trying to comfort her friend, "But don't worry, we'll be home soon. Besides, what demon could be more relentless than our boss? Working late into the night and not even giving us a day off tomorrow."

Before she could finish, a heavy clunk echoed as something fell to the ground. In the dimly lit and narrow alley, something seemed to stir and rush out.

The girl shuddered in horror and huddled closer to her friend. Her friend, relatively composed, took the flashlight, saying, "Don't be scared, it's just a trash can knocked over by the wind."

The flashlight's beam fell upon the overturned garbage, and before they could discern anything, a large yellowish-brown cat suddenly leaped out of it.

The cat was filthy and unkempt, with patches of black-green mold on its belly emitting a pungent odor. Its glazed eyes gleamed with an ominous red light, revealing its ferocious bared teeth dripping with thick saliva onto the ground.

Her hand trembled as she took a few steps back, her voice quivering, "Is this cat sick?"

Taking a deep breath to steady herself, she turned sideways to shield her friend and summoned the courage to face the large feline. Meanwhile, her friend hastily pulled out her phone from her bag, ready to call the police.

Before the phone could be unlocked, the cat suddenly became agitated, ignoring both of them and growling as it lunged back toward the trash can. Mid-attack, it was engulfed by a sudden gust of wind, vanishing into the darkness almost instantly.

Clutching each other tightly, tears of relief welled up in the girls' eyes as they sprinted hand in hand toward the exit, not forgetting to dial the police on their way.

They fled far away, leaving only a blurry figure at the tarred intersection. One of the girls abruptly turned her head, repeatedly glancing back at the decrepit alley. Her friends called out to her several times before she snapped out of her trance.

"There was a cat just now."

"A cat? Where did you see a cat?"

"Nothing, perhaps I imagined it."

The night wind carried their conversation back into the alley.

The figure hunched over the trash can stirred.

Obscured by the pale moonlight hidden within the dark clouds, the trash can appeared as a shadow cast by the willow tree. Only upon a close approach and careful observation could one discern a real person.

Claude, in all-black attire from clothes to mask, at first glance, resembled an abandoned human sculpture. Yet, the perky dog ears atop his head and the long tail swinging behind him ruthlessly exposed his disguise, turning this appearance, which might have seemed like an attempted robbery, unexpectedly cute.

Holding a miniature toy water gun, he walked to where the large dog had disappeared, bent down, and performed an unknown action, seemingly pulling a palm-sized silver metal piece from thin air.

"Is this the fragment of the dog god's body you mentioned?"

With a slight pressure on his fingertips, the seemingly indestructible metal block emitted a bright, shimmering light like a shower of stars, then returned to its original place.

"Yes, now do you believe me? Once you dispel the Hell Cat that invaded the mortal world, there's a chance to obtain the Dog God's fragment as a reward. You can strengthen yourself and become an invincible superpower!" The voice conveyed joy and pride.

"I never thought you were a liar. What liar can make people grow dog ears and tails?" Claude sighed, removing the mask to reveal his young, innocent face. "But why? Just because I picked up a stray dog that was in a car accident three days ago?"

There was a pause in the voice's response. Instead of answering Claude's question, it shifted to another topic.

"As long as you collect enough fragments, you can gain superpowers bestowed by the Dog God, like immense strength, magic, or even immortality. Isn't that appealing?"

Claude sighed in resignation, "In comics, everyone says that there is usually a demon or villain."

"I am not a demon but the guardian of the dog god, the supreme spiritual artifact. I've been given the name of the God of Light since my birth, and all the gods call me by this name!"

"Then what is the name God gave you?" Claude asked curiously.

"Dog toys," proudly stated the voice.

Claude rubbed his temples and couldn't help but smile, slightly easing his fear of the strange voice.

"The Dog God guards the gates of hell. With the Hell Cat's infiltration, human life and safety are at risk. Only you, recognized by the Dog God, can contain the Hell Cat," the voice reasoned.

Claude stood silent, gazing at his right wrist. Ever since he encountered a stray cat in a car accident three days ago, a dark black complex pattern resembling a flattened world map had appeared on his wrist.

Though mistaken for a tattoo by those unfamiliar, he could hide it under his skin with a gentle touch, akin to a fingerprint-controlled phone screen saver.

"The island of dogs, and also the world map. It resembles a dog playing with a ball, signifying the world belongs to the god of dogs!"

However, the dog toy couldn't stay serious for more than two seconds. It quickly transitioned into speaking proudly about the Dog God's power and greatness.

Claude heard footsteps and retreated, skillfully navigating streets and alleys, finally reaching his house and sneaking into his room. Despite his visible dog ears and tail, his agility had significantly improved.

He neatly arranged his black clothes as nightwear, placing them beside his pillow. As he lay in bed, the heart that had raced all night finally settled.

Had it not been for the sudden emergence of dog ears and a tail, he wouldn't have succumbed to the dog toy's persuasion and snuck out in the dead of night without informing his parents. He had to be at school by six tomorrow morning!

Yet, witnessing the Hell Cat's indiscriminate attacks and realizing that a few drops of water, long considered a jest, could truly exorcise demons, was another jolt for Claude, who believed he lived in a rational world.

The grand mission of expelling Hell Cats was an irresistible temptation for teenagers entering their second phase of puberty. The allure of legendary superpowers and magic was even stronger. Moreover, today's Hell Cats have displayed aggression towards humans. Claude asked himself whether he'd feel guilty if he stood by and watched innocent people get hurt or worse.

However, he prided himself on being a rational person. Furthermore, after consuming countless movies and comics, he held a deep-rooted skepticism about saving the world-superheroes and their associates had to endure countless hardships and losses. Heck, not even the Avengers or the Justice League could boast complete sets of parents!

When Claude questioned the danger involved in expelling the Hell Cats, the dog toy stayed silent for a while. Even without seeing its body, Claude could envision the creature scratching its ears and face in puzzlement.

"Why not use a puppet instead of risking your own body? Combining the fragments of the dog god's body and spirit creates a puppet distinct from your physical form. It can handle all the dangerous tasks, keeping your identity secret," the dog toy proposed, seeing Claude's interest.

"But what about the dog's ears and tail?" Claude inquired.

The fluffy black ears twitched atop his head, and the tail, confined in his pajamas, wagged excitedly, breaking free from the quilt and playfully patting the pillow.

"They're a manifestation of your transformed soul and body, and they'll also merge with the puppet," the dog toy clarified.

Claude nodded gleefully. Fed up with his homeroom teacher's reprimands for wearing a hat in class, he'd longed to prove that his golden hair wasn't dyed, nor did he have alopecia. Eagerly, he turned to activate the vest. Upon the dog toy's reminder that he had less than four hours until school, he settled back down.

As the morning sun streamed through the window, the metal piece retrieved from the alley, dormant in the vast night, shattered into silver fragments, glimmering in the sunlight, and seeped into the tattoo on the sleeping teenager's wrist visible under the thin quilt.

The dark world map suddenly brightened in a small area.

The dog's tail he had been holding shrank and vanished, transforming into a small, silver-gray cat-dog, resting on his white pillow.

The dog toy's voice echoed in the teenager's mind. It was soft enough not to disrupt the boy's unfinished dream but left an impression like a stone sinking into a deep lake, fading before the ripples dissipated.

"Great Dog God, I cannot fathom your directive. Can an ordinary human truly fulfill your wishes..."

Chapter 2 Tanuki

"At 5:30 am, a shrill alarm clock woke the sleeping high school student.

Claude groaned and turned over, reaching around the nightstand before remembering that he didn't have an alarm clock.

"Dog toy? Stop singing, you're off-key," he grumbled, unable to reach the dog toy. Instead, he knocked on his own head and tried to shrink into the blankets. "Let me sleep for another five minutes; I'll get up soon."

He tightened his arms, hugged the fluffy little dog, and buried his face in its soft belly. After a while, he suddenly realized something was wrong and opened his eyes abruptly, staring in horror at the dog that had appeared in his arms.

"Where did this dog come from?!"

Seeing him getting ready to get up, the dog toy stopped singing and cleared its throat, happily answering him.

"This is the Chinese native breed dog body that I made out of the meat fragments you obtained yesterday. It will be your avatar as a Dog god messenger."

Curiously, Claude reached out and touched the Chinese native breed of dog, feeling its soft and smooth fur. Apart from being excessively well-behaved, it looked like a real sleeping puppy. "How do I operate it, like using a game controller and display to control it?"

"This is just a dog's body without a soul. If you inject your spiritual power into it, it's like transferring part of your soul to the Chinese native breed dog, just like how you control your own body."

Claude nodded in understanding and picked up the Chinese native breed dog, feeling quite eager to try it out. Unfortunately, it was already close to school time, and his parents were calling him from outside the door to come and eat breakfast. He quickly hid the dog in the closet and grabbed his school uniform to run outside while putting it on.

Without his ears and tail, he didn't need to wear a hat to hide them anymore, and the pressure of school life had suddenly decreased.

After several days of not allowing him to wear a hat, the head teacher in charge of hygiene and discipline specially came to their class during morning study time to check Claude's head. After not finding any dye in his hair or earrings, she left, ruffling his hair hard before leaving: "The color has been dyed back? That's right! You're a student, why bother with all that fancy stuff!"

Claude: "..."

He sighed in frustration and ignored the snickering from his group of friends behind him. He lowered his head and continued to work on the last problem in his physics paper.

The disciplinary rules at Suo Fang High School are very strict. Claude has already advanced to his second year of high school this year, so he has to go to night school from Monday to Saturday until after 9 pm. When classes are over, it's already nighttime with a bright moon hanging in the sky above the school gate where parents are waiting to pick up their children.

Claude lives close by and is separated from the school only by a street that is less than ten meters long, so he doesn't need his parents to pick him up. Usually, he chats with his classmates on the way home. However, today he has a different task.

"Hurry up! I've sensed the hell-cat again! We can't let them stay in the human world for too long!"

Perhaps because he had been busy making the dog shell all night and was tired, the dog toy was particularly quiet and didn't seem to be constantly chirping as it had been trying to persuade him to go out at night for several days. It even gave Claude an illusion that it didn't exist at all until it suddenly screamed in his mind and gave him a fright."

"Suddenly, a scream echoed in Claude's mind, leaving him genuinely shocked.

When the bell rang, Claude swiftly gathered his bag and dashed out, passing by the head teacher carrying her lesson plan, preparing to enter the classroom.

"[Hellcats are contagious,]" the dog toy's voice was solemn.

"[If they come into contact with ordinary cats, those cats will also become hellcats. Though not as strong as true hellcats, in large numbers, they pose a significant danger. Moreover, they cannot enter hell, leaving them trapped once infected.]"

After absorbing the warnings about Hellcats, Claude arrives home, perspiring heavily. Ignoring his parents, he rushed to his room and retrieved the raccoon dog from the closet.

"How do I inject my spiritual power?"

"[Close your eyes,]" instructed the dog toy.

Claude obeyed, closing his eyes. Suddenly, a cold wind swept over his head, as if a mist of cool wind oil had sprayed over him. His body went numb, and upon reopening his eyes, he couldn't help but yelp.

"Woof, woof, cough, cough, woof!" After several attempts, the raccoon dog spoke in human language, "This dog's form is so strange; I can't even walk anymore, woof."

"[The raccoon dog has a human form. If it's inconvenient, you can transform into a human,]" the dog toy explained.

With those words, the raccoon dog leaped forward, rapidly changing shape. Claude, gazing into the nearby mirror, was astonished at his new appearance.

His caramel-light brown skin complemented his pale blue dog-like eyes, casting a mysterious air. His black hair, slightly disheveled, displayed streaks of gray and white, creating the semblance of a rebellious, uniquely beautiful creature. His round, almond-shaped eyes softened his otherwise fierce countenance.

"This beauty could debut directly in the entertainment industry," Claude exclaimed, "It's so stunning, Wang."

"[Don't admire it, focus on the task!]" urged the dog toy.

Claude nodded, retrieving his black clothes and pants. He then directed his real body to lie down on the bed.

Controlling two bodies simultaneously felt a bit like multitasking, but he managed by concentrating on one at a time.

"Since I'm a raccoon dog, I'll name myself Li Hua from now on," he declared with enthusiasm, naming his form. He grabbed a small water gun from the cabinet, intending to jump out the window. "This will differentiate me from my main body, reducing the chances of exposure."

"Wait, don't take the holy water," the dog toy interjected. "[You need to rely on your own strength to fight the Hellcat now.]"

Claude hesitated momentarily, to inquire about the dog toy's powers. As the thought crossed his mind, ten sharp steel claws extended from his fingertips, glinting menacingly. He lightly scratched the table, leaving a deep groove several centimeters long.

"Wow," he retracted his hand, the steel claws disappearing instantly. Then, extending them again, resembling a dog's retractable nails, he mused, "Will airport security stop me for carrying dangerous goods when I fly in this way?"

These questions earned Claude a speechless reaction from the dog toy, who chose to ignore them altogether.

Although lacking the magical abilities of the god's soul fragments, this body, fused with the god of dogs' flesh fragments, possessed formidable combat strength. It sported golden claws, scaled walls and ceilings, and came with the inherent talents of the Chinese raccoon dog.

"Bouncing off walls, this dog can employ agility skill," Claude tested by leaping, accidentally bumping his head on the ceiling, prompting a yelp. "What's that skill?"

"[Talent Technique - Mouse catching skills. You'll successfully catch any mouse you encounter, 100% of the time,]" the dog toy stated seriously.

After this revelation, it fell silent, evidently expecting praise for this gifted skill.

Changing the subject, Claude inquired, "Shouldn't we go expel the Hellcat? Can you sense its location again?"

"The situation was urgent, prompting the dog toy to swiftly project a panoramic view of Suo fang city into Claude's mind. Four or five red dots marked the locations of Hellcats.

"So many?" Claude was startled and didn't linger for conversation. He opened the window and leaped down, gracefully landing on the air conditioning unit below the building's bottom. Hopping between floors, he swiftly vanished into the night.

Each leap covered tens of meters, and wherever he aimed, he landed with precision. The midnight breeze seemingly buoyed his body, allowing him to move unhindered through the air. Claude couldn't resist cheering.

"Dog-man, transform into a dog!"

A cat landed noiselessly, its claws ready to strike a passerby. With a swift stroke, Claude's metal claw cut the back of its neck, dispersing the cat into lead-gray mist before it could attack.

Claude tightened his metal claws, contemplating for a moment.

"These Hell Cats will return to Hell automatically if dispersed in their human forms; they only perish if their true forms are vanquished," clarified the dog toy.

"Not all Hell Cats are easily defeated. The Hell Gate permits only weak soldiers to infiltrate the world.

Strengthen yourself quickly; stronger Hell Cats will challenge your current abilities," warned the dog toy.

"Will my mission end when the Dog God destroys the true form of the Hell Cat?" Claude inquired curiously.

The dog toy remained silent.

It wasn't until Claude roamed the town, dispelling all the Hellcats, rescuing a near-victim, and returning to the streetlight that the dog toy spoke up slowly.

"While the chance of acquiring the Dog God fragment is slim, dispelling Hell Cats contaminated by the Dog God's power will gradually augment your strength."

Sensing the dog toy's reluctance to address his prior query, Claude let it be. He followed its lead and questioned, "Will my ionization power also amplify?"

"Not just ionization, but your mental prowess too. You've stayed up all night yet feel no fatigue. Isn't that peculiar?" the dog toy pointed out.

"Usually wide awake during my late-night phone sessions," Claude mused, comprehending the implication. Observing the sunrise, he leaped back onto his balcony and entered through the window. "This is convenient; at least I won't doze off in class."

Reverting to a puppy form, Claude's consciousness returned fully. After stowing the puppy in the closet, laundering his black clothes, and hanging them out to dry, he reclined to catch up on sleep.

He sensed this routine might become his new normal for a while.

Chapter 3 Dog Avenger

The spiritual power acquired from banishing the Hellcat proved more beneficial to Claude than he had anticipated. Despite adopting a new disguise every night and exploring the city, he managed to retain enough energy during the day to attend classes. He promptly caught up on the classes he had missed due to the distraction caused by the sudden emergence of dog ears and tails.

"Two senior studies are quite demanding," sighed Claude. "I haven't completed my homework yet."

"Is that why you're battling while reciting textbooks?" the dog toy sarcastically jabbed.

Claude sheepishly smiled, curled his fingers, and blocked the entire poem copied on paper. He leaned against the protective railing atop the building's roof, swinging his legs leisurely in the air.

"Only two Hellcats tonight, so I've got nothing to do at the moment. Though their numbers vary nightly, I'll wait until sunrise to complete my tasks. Who knows, new Hellcats might emerge after I return home. I'll have to rise from bed, don my waistcoat, and head out again. Fortunately, Hellcats fear light and water. During the day, they hide in alley garbage cans, pretending to be stray cats. I won't skip classes to combat monsters on the streets."

The dog toy, lost in thought, eventually noticed Claude almost dangling from the rooftop's railing, reciting text with closed eyes. His wagging tail synchronized with his recitation, resembling a large, fluffy pendant.

Although it sensed activity near the Hell Gate, it perceived no unusual fluctuations. Hence, they remained silent, listening to Claude's scripture recital.

"What's that smell?" Claude suddenly opened his eyes, sniffing.

Tensing his toes, he leaped effortlessly from the balcony railing to the roof above, gazing down with his pale green dog eyes.

"Is something burning?" the dog toy asked uncertainly.

Its abilities were limited; it only sensed atmospheres related to the Hell Gate. Otherwise, its vision mirrored Claude's, akin to a 360-degree camera with a ten-meter diameter beside him.

The raccoon dog's ears twitched slightly, picking up distant cries for help, allowing Claude to hear them too. Without hesitation, he jumped downstairs, traversing towering telephone poles and leaving muddy footprints on an unknown store's window. He followed the fire's sound to its source.

Initially expecting a building on fire, he found himself wandering deeper into a dilapidated low-rise housing area slated for demolition. Flames flickered within half-collapsed houses.

A bearded middle-aged man, hands ablaze, stood surrounded by lit firewood. A frightened child cried amid the firewood circle, while sobs and pleas emanated from a phone placed nearby. The man seemed to be using the child's life to extort money.

"People with superpowers really exist," Claude whispered in disbelief, hiding on a dilapidated bungalow's roof, revealing only his pointed dog ears. "Should I call emergency services or consult a fortune-teller?"

"It might not be helpful, right?" the dog toy chimed in.

Having guarded the Hell Gate alongside the dog god for nearly a millennium, it possessed limited knowledge of the world beyond Claude's recent explanations and what it gathered from internet searches. It wasn't equipped to handle this situation.

"Let's just ignore it; it's not related to hell," suggested the dog toy.

Claude remained silent, observing the trembling child within the ring of flames. As the man turned off the phone video, Claude grinned grimly, approaching the child. He then leaped down and struck the man's neck with his metal claws. Surprisingly, the formidable-looking fire controller was quite fragile, falling without resistance, causing the flames to extinguish abruptly.

"This guy was too easy to defeat!" Claude was startled. "I almost severed his neck by mistake!"

The fire controller seemed weak, observed by the dog toy. A mage uses fire to attack from a distance, yet is easily defeated by a close-range sensitive assassin. Claude realized that had he confronted the man head-on instead of sneaking, victory would've been more challenging and injury likely.

As the dog toy hadn't had time to analyze their battle, the child, previously trapped in the ring of fire, sprinted over and hugged Claude's leg tightly, calling him 'Brother Police officer,' tears and snot staining his face, smearing it on Claude's pants.

"I'm not a police officer," Claude grasped the child's back collar, feeling a bit concerned about the pants he'd washed just the day before. Initially wanting to remove the child from his leg, his fingers grazed the still-trembling body, prompting a change of heart. He turned to lift and pat the child's head. "You can call me Lihua.

How does this code name sound?"

Observing the fluffy tail swaying behind Claude, the little boy's eyes lit up: "It's great!"

Claude shook his head in amusement, bent down to pick up the child, and with his other hand holding onto the fire control man's pant leg, he swiftly headed towards the downtown police station. Without ceremony, he tossed the dangerous super-powered criminal into the station's courtyard, settled the child on a nearby seat, climbed atop a streetlamp, and waited for a few minutes. As the police emerged to escort the child inside, Claude ushered the fire controller in and departed.

Dawn had already broken.

Three individuals clad in special black uniforms hastened to the demolition area, making a beeline for the central dilapidated bungalow.

One of them stood at the door, snapping his fingers, prompting mottled weeds on the ground to burgeon rapidly, creating an intricate grass network that barricaded the entire house.

"The place is empty," remarked another, armed with a sniper, as he entered. After a meticulous search, he turned and reported, "There are signs of fire damage and a struggle inside. The suspect appears to have been incapacitated by a surprise attack. It might be a conflict among various factions, preliminarily speaking."

The leader pondered for a moment, sighing helplessly.

Recent actions of these believers have become increasingly reckless, jeopardizing many innocent lives. Their plan was initially swift and decisive, aiming to apprehend a few notable cases as an example, but the cunning culprit had managed to evade capture.

"The more pressing issue now is that another child is in their possession."

The trio stood motionless, surveilling their surroundings and discussing their next search for a location. Suddenly, the captain's earpiece beeped.

Listening intently, the captain's eyes widened in shock. "What did you say? The city's police station?"

The two team members simultaneously stepped forward, their faces filled with concern. "Is there a problem at the police station?"

"No," the captain ended the communication, still processing the information. "Someone delivered the child along with the fire controller to the police station."

Team members: ??

Could something so fortunate happen?!

...

Meanwhile, Claude sat in the classroom, engrossed in writing. Unaware that all information regarding the Hellcat's transformation had been projected onto the computer, meticulously analyzed by numerous individuals attempting to discern why a teenager, suspected to be a dog demon, had singled out cats.

This was attributed to Claude and the dog toy's efficiency. Every time a Hellcat left the Hell-gate, they promptly pursued it. For several days, there hadn't been a single instance of a Hellcat harming anyone, resulting in the super-powered community having minimal knowledge about Hellcats.

"Done!" Claude shook his sore wrist, momentarily missing the raccoon dog's vest, which provided remarkable physical stamina, allowing him to write thousands of words without pause.

The Chinese teacher adjusted his glasses and walked over, taking Claude's paper and meticulously reviewing it. His gaze focused on a multiple-choice question about rectifying errors in the opening sentence, causing Claude's heart to skip a beat.

Behind the teacher, Claude's classmate and childhood friend, Yan Anqing, casually retrieves an expensive chocolate from his desk. Popping a piece into his mouth, he tossed another at Claude. Startled, Claude quickly feigned picking up an eraser, skillfully catching the chocolate, narrowly avoiding the Chinese teacher's notice.

"Whoa~" the dog toy whistled in Claude's mind.

"Nourishing your spiritual power truly pays off. Though you're still fragile, your reaction speed has doubled compared to before."

The Chinese teacher placed the test paper, nodding contentedly before inspecting others. Claude reclaimed his paper, swiftly returning to the beginning, carefully examining the multiple-choice question, perplexed by the seemingly conflicting options.

Until the bell rang, Claude couldn't figure out the reason. Finally, he changed the original B option to C and sighed as he handed in the paper.

"How did you do in the exam?" Yan Anqing grinned, draping her arm around his neck.

Yan Anqing possessed red lips, pearly white teeth, and sported a small bun at the back of her head. Anyone who laid eyes on her would acknowledge her beauty. Despite her disinterest in studying and poor grades, her outgoing nature, complemented by her good looks, facilitated amiable relationships with all her teachers except for the head teacher.

For Yan An qing's sake, a precious little girl to her, countless battles had been fought against the head teacher. However, it was ultimately through her parents' financial resources that she evaded punishment and continued to flaunt her tousled hair before the head teacher, who scowled at her whenever she appeared.

"It's okay," Claude sighed, eager to find someone to check his answers. He took a few steps but suddenly overheard a conversation about a police crackdown on a major arson and kidnapping case. Stopping in his tracks, he inquired, "What case are they discussing?"

Apparently, someone had set fire to a residential area and kidnapped a wealthy child, demanding several hundred million yuan as ransom. Yan Anqing had recently read about the incident during a tedious class. The crime seemed to have been committed by a gang, with several key members still evading capture. The police had circulated their photos, cautioning the public about their armed and dangerous status, advising immediate flight if spotted.

Claude contemplatively rubbed his finger against the tip of his nose, quietly commending the police station's swift action.

The term 'dangerous weapons' likely referred to the superpowers wielded by those individuals.

After thoroughly examining the photos on Yan An qing's phone, Claude commits the facial features of those individuals to memory. He mused that if he found spare time after expelling the Hellcats that night, he could search for the hiding spots of these wanted criminals.
