Chapter 1 The First Encounter

A white colored Audi R8 sports car was running in Mumbai city, Maharashtra, India at its maximum speed. Seemed like the driver had a race against time.

After a few sudden turns, the driver applied the brakes, and the car stopped with a jerk in the parking lot of Goenka Medical College and Hospital.

Two young ladies, who are looking like a princess of some elite family, by their looks, came out from either doors of the car.

"Wow Simmi, today you drove the car faster than ever as well as safer too. I Love it sweetie."

Simmi loves it when someone praised her. She got excited and raised the collar of her white silk shirt with an attitude. "Yup dear, PS, sometimes even I wonder about my unremarkable skills. How can one born with so many talents?"

Simmi chirped half jokingly to her best friend Pari Singh, whom she used to call PS.

"You are so self-obsessed." Pari shook her head, seeing her best friend, who is not less than a crazy bug.

"This is called talent. Every random person doesn't have it." Simmi winked at Pari to tease her.

Simmi's teasing provoked Pari. "You, brat......" She clenched her fist and strode towards Simmi.

Simmi understood that Pari's approach was to catch her, and she ran from there.

"Hey you stop." Pari too increased her pace, but Simmi was way too faster.

Both the girls were running and chasing while laughing hard, creating havoc at the main door of the hospital, when suddenly near the main gate of the building Simmi turned around to look at Pari, who was left behind.

"AP, you are a lazy snail. You can't catch me, darling." Simmi was walking backwards while teasing Pari and didn't realize that someone was coming from the opposite direction and they 'Crashed.'

Simmi bumped into a suited man who was striding towards the entrance door of the hospital in a rush.

Both fell down. Simmi towered over a very handsome, tall, masculine man, owner of sharp features and a pointed jaw line, but currently having a frowned line on his broad forehead because of the sudden fall.

Pari stopped there itself and burst into laughter seeing Simmi fallen into an embarrassing situation.

Simmi was lost for a few seconds because of the unexpected accident. She got back to her senses by Pari's laughter and noticed the guy's frowned face. She immediately tried to get up but her hand slipped and she once again fell on the guy's chest with a thud, "Damn it!" Simmi mumbles and it increased the frown lines on the guy's face.

Pari's laughter increased even more. Simmi tilted her head, looked at Pari and screamed, "Stop laughing, you maniac, and help me first."

The guy shrank his eyes and closed his ears; coz the loud and sharp yell of Simmi fell into his ears, buzzing his ear drums.

Pari came forward while controlling her laughter and extended her hand to Simmi to help her get up from the guy.

After helping up, Simmi dusted her clothes and bowed with respect in front of the guy and said. "I am so sorry Mister."

She knew it was her mistake, that's why she apologized respectfully, but after that she didn't wait for the latter's response and moved forward with Pari towards their way when the suited guy taunted her from behind.

"How could any random person drop into a place like hospital without manners and decency?"

Simmi heard it clearly and turned around immediately. She couldn't take the wrong accusation.

"Excuse me, it was just an accident. I know it's my mistake. That's why I apologized and I meant it." She found that guy's taunt absurd and rude, still she retorted calmly.

The suited guy was Dr. Samrat Malhotra, dean of the Goenka Medical College and Hospital, famous neuro surgeon of the country and known as Dr. SM in the medical world. This little girl's attitude who dared to retort Dr. SM under the roof of his own hospital surprised him.

"The worst thing about this generation is insincerity; they take everything as a joke. They are not serious about anything. Simply wasted my time." Dr. Samrat said rudely and blabber last line to him while looking at his limited edition wrist watch.

Simmi's temper rose at the constant taunt of this man, who was thinking very highly of himself. Obviously, she can't let it go without refuting.

"Who asked you to waste your precious time to taunt me and how do I prove that I meant it, when I apologized? Shall I kill myself to show you my sincere realization?"

"Up to you." Samrat tossed another taunt, turned on his heels, and walked from there.

Simmi's mouth opened wide in shock. Even she is not used to such rude behavior from anybody. She is a kind-hearted girl and behaves nicely to everybody and used to get love and respect.

"Excuse me." Simmi said from behind.

"Ok, excused." Samrat said carelessly, without turning back, continued striding, and entered the hospital building.

Simmi was born and brought up in an elite family as a princess. Her father, Rishabh Oberoi, was a big business owner and after his death, she was the apple of the eye of her elder brother Rahul Oberoi and very precious to the entire family.

She only used to get love and pamper, but nobody had talked to her like this ever before. She fumed inwardly, whereas Pari laughed out loud, seeing for the first time somebody won over her naughty friend.

"Simmi, hats off to this guy. He suppressed you today."

"Don't forget who am I? I will let him know the consequences of messing with Simmi Oberoi." She said proudly while gazing at the departing figure of Samrat with a mischievous smile in her eyes.

She took out the dark shade lipstick from her purse, applied it on her lips and kissed on her palm tightly, printing dark lip marks on her palm. Then she ran towards Samrat earnestly.

"Excuse me, mister, I am sorry to say, but I printed my lipstick on your cheeks when I accidentally collided with you. It was looking embarrassing." Simmi pointed a finger towards Samrat' cheek and said very seriously with an embarrassed look and crouched eyelashes.

Samrat, without doubting on her intention, fell for it. He hurriedly grabbed his handkerchief and started rubbing his right cheek.

"No, it's there." Simmi pointed towards his left cheek and inte*rrupted his action.

Samrat started wiping his left cheek. If somebody sees it, then the scenario will be unimaginably embarrassing for him.

After he was done with rubbing his cheeks multiple times, Samrat unwantedly raised his eyebrows to Simmi, who was gazing his all actions keenly.

This is what Simmi was waiting for, and she jumped in immediately. "It's still there. Wait a minute, let me help you."

She pressed her right palm on his left cheek, making her lip marks from her palm print on his cheeks and, after pretending to help him for a few minutes, she let it go. "Now it's perfectly alright. You can thank me. It will cost nothing."

Simmi's face was glowing after the successful execution of another prank.

Proud and arrogant, Samrat didn't bother to thank this naughty girl and moved towards his office.

Pari started laughing from behind, who was watching the entire prank of Simmi with wide eyes

"Simmi, what did you do and why?" Pari knew Simmi, how naughty and *what kind of prankster she was, but sometimes she couldn't understand why she had to do this with a stranger.

"Nothing, this rude man needed a shock treatment from Dr. Simmi Oberoi. Now he will think twice before messing with me again in the future."

Simmi was proud of her doings, and Pari just shook her head. Both moved towards their destination.

"Dr. SM, please wait."

A nurse ran towards Samrat, while calling him from behind when he was moving towards his cabin. He stopped and turned around to face the head nurse. "What....?"

The nurse was frozen in her place after seeing the lipstick mark on Dr. Samrat Malhotra's cheek.

Chapter 2 Unfair Decision

Dr. Samrat Malhotra, dean of Goenka Medical College and Hospital, who follows his principles very sincerely. He believes strict rules and regulations can only make a person disciplined. Hard work, serious attitude and focus can only make an MBBS a good, skilled and successful doctor. In their profession, there is no place for mistake and no room for a second chance.

He was always proud of his principles and hard work. That is how he made this hospital the topmost in the entire state, but today something unusual had happened.

"What is wrong with you......?" Samrat got cranky seeing the nurse who stopped him for no reason. What is more irritable here is her antics.

The nurse was dumbstruck seeing the lipstick mark on Dr. SM's cheek and unknowingly felt shy. The nurse with a pink cheek and broad smile, she lowered her lashes.

"What the hell? Why did you stop me, speak up?" Samrat couldn't control his temper anymore and yelled at the nurse. The nurse shivered a bit, but Samrat's loud yell grabbed many passersby's attention.

Whoever stopped, turned or looked at Samrat, now had a broad smile on their faces. People were giggling, hiding their face by their palms while looking at Samrat, but his sharp glare was enough to warn them to behave.

The situation was quite bizarre at the main corridor of the hospital, which dragged the senior doctor Isha Grewal's interest. "What is going on, why is the staff so chaotic here?"

By mumbling to herself, Dr. Isha strode towards Samrat and the senior nurse and, just like others, her eyes also wide in shock to see his cheek. This is the least she could expect to see Dr. SM doing something so atypical that too in the hospital.

She looked around at the onlookers hiding their faces to giggle, and found the entire situation embarrassing for Samrat. She held his wrist and beckoned him. "Come with me."

They entered the dean's cabin; Isha had to apply all her controlling power to not to laugh.

"Samrat, since when are you in this kind of relationship? At least be cautious before getting into the hospital."

"Cautious? What nonsense are you spitting? Can you be a bit clearer?"

Samrat already had a poor start of the day when he collided with an unknown girl. She triggered his anger early in the morning, after that the crazy behavior of the staff and now this absurd riddle of Isha, that's enough. He burst into anger.

"Samrat, how could you come to the hospital with lipstick marks on your face? That's why the onlookers were looking at you weirdly?" Isha said with an utmost serious face.

"Lipstick marks? What the......." Samrat was shocked. The lipstick mark was completely wiped off a few moments before, wasn't it?

"It's there....." Isha pointed towards Samrat's cheek and covered her face to hide her giggle, which can raise Samrat's anger to its peak.

"How is that pos......" Samrat moved towards his table and his words stuck in his throat when he saw the reflection of a big lipstick mark on his face on the glass table. Now he realized that the little girl tricked him. He balled his fist and slammed it on the table hard.

Even though Isha doesn't know how, but she got that something had happened with Samrat. "Samrat, relax." She forwarded the box of tissue to him, which he took with a jerk, venting his anger on lifeless stuff.

Isha sighed, seeing him rubbing his cheek harshly. "Tell me what has happened with you early in the morning." She asked calmly, as a good friend, to give him a chance to vent out his anger.

Samrat clenched tissues in his fist and sulkily told the entire story, how he ran into a girl who fooled him.

Isha couldn't control herself anymore and burst into laughter. More than this funny story of a prank, she was amused by the girl who had guts to mess with Dr. Samrat Malhotra. If she is from this hospital, then she will be doomed.

Samrat got crankier by Isha's laughter and give her a sharp glare. Just then, a junior doctor, Dr. Kiran Roy, knocked and entered.

"Dr. SM, this is the file of this year's interns, as you had asked for."

Ahh, work is the best distraction for him. Now he will not think about this incident anymore.

Samrat took the file, taking a seat on his chair and started flipping the pages, reading the details of the fresh interns.

Isha stood beside him and gave a keen look at the intern's file. After flipping a few pages, Samrat couldn't help but stopped on a page looking at the passport size picture of a girl, he then read the name Simmi Oberoi.

'Oh, so, she is Simmi Oberoi, the state topper and the reason of me being the laughingstock in front of the staff of my own hospital.'

He pulled the particular form harshly from the file and said, "I am canceling the internship of this particular candidate from this college."

Then he forwarded the file to Dr. Kiran. "Take this file and pin the list of interns on the notice board."

Isha took that form from his hand and said solemnly while looking at the highest grade candidate's form, "Samrat we can't do this, this is the list of the finalized interns, she is one of the best candidate of the finalized interns and you know she is a state topper, right?"

"So what? Every year, one or the other person holds this position." Samrat said carelessly.

"But everyone does not enroll in our hospital for an internship. After around six years, such a brilliant doctor is going to be a part of Goenka hospital. It's a moment of pride. We can't cancel it."

Isha tried to make Samrat understand, but her words fell onto the deaf ears.

"I don't care about it. I am the dean of this college and I can do what I want." Samrat was adamant.

"But Samrat....." Isha wanted to persuade him but was interrupted by Kiran, "Dr. Isha, why are you interfering with Samrat's decision? Let him do what he wants."

Kiran is a prominent glib tongue, and she doesn't know what to speak and when. Isha disliked Kiran's interference, as being a junior doctor in senior doctor matters.

"Address him as Dr. Samrat, not Samrat. Did you get it and you are not to meddle in the management's business, go and do your duty. Today I have appointed you in children's ward go and attend to them."

Kiran, who had a feeling for Samrat, looked at him for aid, but found him indifferent. She went from there after stomping her foot.

Simmi Oberoi, sister of a great business owner Rahul Oberoi and Pari Singh, daughter of a secretary Vijay Singh, has completed their MBBS together and joined Goenka Medical College and Hospital for an internship.

Today, they had dropped by to check on the dates of their internship.

Simmi's eyes were wide seeing the intern's list on the notice board.

"PS, this list is wrong. It's started from the 2nd position. My name should be on top, but it's missing."

"Hmm...." Pari hummed while gazing at the list keenly and shocked equally. "Me too, am thinking the same. How is that possible?"

"Huh, it's a biggest hospital in the country and such a silly mistake? They gravely need to work on its management." Simmi was taking it very casually. The thoughts that her internship could be cancelled couldn't bother her.

"Wait, let me find out the matter?"*

By saying this, Pari went from there and came back after 10 minutes.

"Simmi dear, this time you messed up. You print a lipstick mark on that suited guy's face. This is the retribution of your prank."

Simmi's charming, glowing face had frown lines.

"How does my prank affect my internship? What does it have to do with that brainless chicken?"

"That brainless chicken of yours is the dean of this hospital, Dr. Samrat Malhotra. The famous doctor SM of the medical world. He was mad at you and poured it out on your internship as a revenge for your prank."

Pari explained it in details but inwardly felt very sorry for her friend, whereas Simmi was still unbothered by this. She was very confident in her skills.

"My internship has already been accepted. Now he can't cancel it."

"But dear, he already has."

"That Dr. HM is getting on my nerves. Now he needs more shock treatment from Dr. Simmi."

After saying this, Simmi marched towards the dean's cabin, being aggravated, and Pari scratched her head while thinking, 'Now who is Dr. HM?'

Chapter 3 Challange

"Samrat, being your good friend, let me remind that you can't take the advantage of your position. It's wrong."

Isha, being a senior doctor, tried to remind Samrat to not to take any rash decisions that will be detrimental to the hospital, but all her good advice fell onto deaf ears.

"I don't care, Isha. I have made up my mind that this undisciplined, non serious and prankster girl is not meant for my hospital. She can't be a good human, let alone be a good doctor."

Isha sneered at Samrat's judgmental behavior and scolded him. "You are nobody to decide all this. Better don't bring your personal grudges into professional matters. Still do whatever you want to do, but don't forget you can't do this without Arjun's concern. You need his signature."

Isha knew Samrat was strong headed and was not going to get his ways no matter what. After giving the last piece of advice, she turned on her heels and marched out of his cabin sulkily, but Samrat didn't budge.

The proud and arrogant Samrat Malhotra couldn't take on his ego and Simmi had made him lose his face in front of the hospital staff, which was not less than a crime for him. He can't let it go.

Now Samrat needed to talk to Dr. Arjun Grewal, the chief of the interns, to inform him about his decision regarding the change of interns' enrollment. Before he could proceed to talk to him, a storm entered in his cabin with an enormous bang on the door.

Simmi stormed in and clapped ironically.

Samrat was shocked for a moment, and then a pang of irritation consumed all over his face. Now he was even more sure that he made the right decision in cancelling this ill-mannered girl's internship from his prestigious hospital.

"The great Dr. SM, the dean of the most prestigious and popular, the great Goenka Medical College and Hospital, is such an arrogant and egoistic person that he can take advantage of his position for wrong." Simmi vented out her frustration, but again teased Samrat's prestigious ego.

Samrat was snorting at Simmi's snob behavior. First of all, she walked into his cabin without his permission and on top of that, talking to him rudely, challenging his decision boldly.

"Who are you, talking to me like this? A spoiled brat, how could you enter the dean's cabin without permission? are these your manners?" Samrat scolded Simmi.

He loathed spoiled kids of rich families who are not serious in their life and he found Simmi one of them. He thought that people like her don't want to do anything in their life other than enjoy their rich dad's money. They can't make their own identity.

"Manners my foot, when you can take advantage of your position to cancel my already accepted internship, then you have no rights to question my manners." Simmi refutes in the same tone.

Simmi found that Samrat was wrong when he cancelled her internship for no reason. She can't tolerate any wrong and injustice because she is also the daughter of the famous environmentalist Disha Oberoi and has learned to fight for justice since childhood.

Samrat's lips curled into a smirk, seeing Simmi is indignant about the matter of her internship. This girl had tricked him for a prank and made him a laughingstock in front of his staff, she deserves this. He was pleased that she was upset and she can't do anything else, because no one can change his decision.

Samrat kept an elbow on the table, supporting his chin with both hands and said with an attitude as doing a favor to Simmi. "Miss Oberoi, even though I am not answerable to anyone, I am still letting you know that my hospital needs good, hardworking and responsible doctors to help patients, not a prankster and immature person like you."

Simmi crossed her arms across her chest and retorted with the same attitude as Samrat. "Dr. Malhotra, even though I am not in the mood, I will also let you know that it was your hospital's loss if I do not join and the good fortune of any hospital that I will join. But Simmi is not going to leave this hospital. I will complete my internship at Goenka medical college and Hospital, with or without your concent."

Post completing her words, Simmi didn't wait for Samrat's response, turned on her heels and stormed out of the dean's cabin sulkily. Samrat just shook his head, seeing the door, and his evil smirk grew wider. He didn't pay heed to that little girl's confrontation and now, after seeing her attitude, he is more obstinate about his decision.

Pari was waiting for Simmi outside the dean's cabin. She saw Simmi's red face with a frown line and her heart shivered for a moment. This is not Simmi's style to get angry. She is a cool headed person.

"What happened, Simmi? What did he say?"

Simmi didn't answer to Pari, just held her wrist and dragged her towards the exit gate.

"Simmi, easy sweetie, what is wrong with you?" Pari wiggled in her tight clutch.

"PS, don't ask anything right now and come with me. I need some fresh air; this Dr. HM is getting on my nerves."

Pari stopped wiggling and let Simmi drag her, but once again scratched her head in confusion. "Now who the hell was Dr. HM?" Pari sometimes was fed up with Simmi's habit of picking initials rather than a person's full name. It always leads her to confusion.

"The great but biased dean of this prestigious Goenka hospital." Simmi said ironically, still snorting in anger.

This matter is very important to her. It's about her career and she can't tolerate injustice because of a person's ego.

"Simmi, stop being cranky. He is Samrat Malhotra, Dr. SM, not HM, do you get it?" Pari said softly while walking by her side and moving out of the main door.

"No, for me he is Hitler Malhotra, Dr. HM, a crack piece of nut, do you get it?" Simmi was not at ease at all. She has already cursed Samrat in her heart several times and now wants to spit all the fire, but endure it for good.

Both the girls walked in to the small park, next to the hospital building. It's a very beautiful part of Goenka hospital to freshen oneself.

Pari made Simmi sit on the bench, fetched a bottle of water from her bag and made her take a few sips forcefully. "Now tell me what happened? What did he say?"

After Simmi stormed out of Samrat's cabin, he immediately took his phone and dialed Arjun's number to talk to him about the changes in the interns' list. He didn't want to delay this matter anymore, the sooner the better.

Mobile rang in his cabin, and at the same moment Arjun entered with his phone in hand.

"What's wrong?" Arjun asked, and fetched a cup of water for himself. He was just coming from a four hour long surgery.

"Ahh, thank the heaven, Arjun, you are here. I want to talk to you about something important about this year's interns."

Arjun was like didn't hear Samrat at all, bottoms up the cup of water and said hurriedly, "Samrat, for God's sake, keep everything aside for now. We will talk about it later. Today we have an important meeting with Dr. Bruise from UK. Let's go, we are getting late."

"Oh, how could I forget about it?" Samrat cursed his mind and stood up from the chair while thinking that this was also because of Simmi Oberoi. That girl has created havoc in his life in one day. Thank gods he showed her the exit door before she could even enter in this hospital.

Samrat and Arjun marched out of the hospital. While walking towards the parking, a scene caught their attention.

A little boy was lying in a pool of blood near the park's gate and somebody was trying to give first aid to him. Samrat's eyes widened at the sight of the doctor attending to the little boy.
