Chapter 1 The Day Of Absurdities

As dawn crept up, the morning sun shone in through the windows, resting upon her tired face.

"Ouch" She said as she gradually regained her consciousness, all she could feel was a splitting drug induced-headache and a pounding pain all through her body, especially down her inner thighs and around her vulva. The sun rays poured into her eyes as she opened her eyes wearily forcing her to shut them back quickly.

Gradually, she opened her eyes gently and allowed it to adjust to the intensity of light in her surrounding. On top of that, she felt extremely tired and weak and couldn't even find any strength to shrug the unease and half dizziness off.

She hauled herself into a sitting position with her right arms on her forehead, trying to remember what happened last night. Suddenly her faced turned pale as flashback's of the night before suddenly came rushing back to her. She initially was convinced it was all a dream! It was not a dream? It was real?

Alarmed, she quickly turned side ways, she saw a stranger, a man lying at the other end of the bed, as if it jolted her memory and cleared of her uneasiness in a flash and same time, confirming what happened last night was not a dream, she lifted the blanket she was under and was astonished to find herself completely naked. She gnashed her teeth in extreme shock as the realization dawned upon her.

It was not really a dream? She asked herself in the utmost degree of shock.

"What was she doing here? Oh shit!" She jerked up from the bed with every ounce of composure within her, trying to remain calm, careful not to wake the stranger up. She hurriedly started to wear back her clothes from last night,

Just then, the sleeping man changed sleeping position, still fast asleep, exposing his broad back and his face covered with a quilt.

Diana turned to see the eagle tattoo on his back, but that was not even her concern, she needed to go home right that minute.

All Diana remembers clearly from last night was the desperate and helpless voice of her sister-in-law over the phone. Eager to save her, she rushed over the the club house.

Room 306, Diana looked up at the number plaque, confirming this was the room her sister-in-law, Anamika got endangered in, Diana barged in without another thought and warning and was greeted with extreme darkness and an handkerchief over her noise.

On inhaling, she passed out -

Was the handkerchief laced with or sprayed with some stuff? Oh shit! Diana raged. She needed to get home immediately and ask Anamika what happened.

Diana quickly tidied up and walked over to the door, on opening the door and exiting, she was shocked to see Anamika, her sister-in-law who had cried for help on the phone yesterday taking a picture of her. With her, was her mother, Eddy. Diana's mother-in-law.

"Anamika will you stop it. Enough already. We have enough evidences now and for sure when Harvey sees them, he would do the needful and divorce that barren chick!" Eddy asserted with a bright smile across her face.

Diana was suddenly evaded by extreme shock and rage. Eddy was referring to her husband, Harvey and her as a barren chick! As if it never occured to Diana, she had been married to Harvey for three years now and have been unable to provide Harvey with an heir, as such she was hashtagged Barren chick! But who would think her beloved mother-in-law would be part of those mocking her fertile condition?

"And also, what evidence? Divorce?" Diana was discombobulated that she glowered at them, ashen-faced and she demanded "Anamika, what's happening? Why did you lie to me?

"You still have mouth to talk? You shameless barren slut!" Eddy's voice rang through, piercing Diana's heart like a dagger. This was happening afterall.

Anamika smirked , "is it my fault that you're so so so gullible? Diana?"-

"I hope you did have a good time with the gigolo back there?" She added with a sing-song voice, smiling wickedly.

"Finally, I have provided my son something tangible to hold unto in order to divorce you" Eddy added,

It was at this moment Diana realized that both of them had set her up. The promise she made to Harvey and which she had held unto for the past three years of their marriage had been broken and sacrificed to Eddy's and Anamika's despicable hilarity.

Presently, Anamika's eyes were devoid of warmth and cordiality, clearly expressive of disdain and unfriendliness as she boiled vigorously, "Did you actually think we would let your ruin Harvey's life by not providing him an heir? Wake up! From your dream you barren woman! Don't even bother coming home, I have already sent this evidences to Harvey's WhatsApp".

Eddy, on the other hand, swiftly interjected by mocking, "Atleast my son will believe now, that you have been pimping yourself for money at a club since he denied you access to the families bank account! It won't be long until he divorces and throws you out!"

"That's a lie!" Diana heard herself talk back but the word's didn't just came out. She has a job and can pay her bills if this was anything related to monetary benefits.

"You two-" she finally spat out, her face contorting to a mask of rage that she swayed. The after effect of the inhaled stuff that the handkerchief got sprayed with and the collective weight of her mother-in-law and sister-in-law betrayal and cruelty nearly knocked her out the second time.

"Let's go! Anamika. We don't want to be seen with a thrash, do we? " With that said, Eddy led Anamika out.

With no much time to waste, Diana left as well with the fleeting headache induced by the drug she had inhaled yesterday's night.

Few minutes after they all left, the hotel worker who was taking down the Room number plaques realized that the plaque on room 309 was 306 and not 309.

"That numbskull!" He cursed, "He couldn't even place ordinary number plaques right!"

When Diana reached home, she saw her husband Harvey sitting on the sofa cuddling another lady. Diana knew the lady. She was Juliette Jones, Harvey's old time crush and best friend.

"Oh wow, seemed like she finally returned back to Delta city and already hanging out with an old lover, someone's else husband!" A thought sprang up inside of Diana, breaking her hurt the more.

With a calm expression Harvey asked as Diana approached, her face blushing with confusion. "Where did you spend last night?"

Chapter 2 Walking Away From Pain

Diana pursed her lips, thinking about the events from last night before finally replying, "I went to save sister-in-law Anamika -" she was not done talking when Harvey's fury crashed into the table in front of her. Startling her.

"Did she tell you she needed saving?" Harvey suddenly yelled in rage.

The next moment, Harvey slammed a picture on the table and roared furiously, "I know that you spent the night with a man in a hotel room! A gigolo for that matter! How dare you open your mouth and make an excuse for that! We were married!" A look of disappointment and anger appeared on Harvey's face.

"We're married and yet, I just walked in on you cuddling your old lover?" Diana retorted, she couldn't take it all in as she caught sight of the photos, making the blood drain from her face. It was a picture of a man, she still doesn't know, on top of her under a quilt.

"And so fucking what?! You turned into a prostitute just because I denied you access to the family bank account? How can I, Harvey Scott, be capable of having a shameless barren wife like you?"

"Did he just called me a shameless barren? How has it gotten to this?" Diana's shock intensified.

"No, Honey.. You don't have to rub it on her face..." Juliete jones who had earlier be quiet finally spoke, as she spoke she stood up and started rubbing her hands against Harvey's back as if to calm him down.

"Calm down.. she is not worth your time!" She added,

What? In my presence she dare calls him Honey? It was clear that the relationship between them never ended, truly.

Diana fell silent even as the thoughts assailed her, she tried to open her mouth to explain but she couldn't find the strength.

"Harvey????" She called out with a crying voice as tears began to roll down her cheeks,

Harvey was completely enveloped with a thunderous and angry look.

"You know what? Sign these papers!" Harvey on turning back brought out the divorce papers and slammed them heavily on the table.

Diana glanced down at them and whatever feeling she was feeling intensified ten fold, "Divorce papers?" She blurted out, in the greatest possible degree of pain and shock.

Meanwhile, Eddy who had been upstairs hurried down the stairs, "Son, Calm down!" As she talked she walked over to Diana and nagged at her pretentiously, "Diana, how do you want us to face the public now? Even if you have high sex libido, you should have called your husband for it!"

Diana was completely startled as her words fell, what did she mean by that? She had clearly be unconscious all the whole time.

"This s a clear set up!" She said even as her heart sunk into the world of pains and regret.

"Sign the divorce papers now! I never want to see your face ever again!" Harvey glowered at Diana maliciously as he snapped, not wanting to hear another word from Diana.

"Sign the papers and get out of this house! I can't stand to have you under my roof!" He repeated, this time more angrily.

"Who knows you've been purposely aborting my son's babies?" Eddy swiftly chirped in,

"I can't believe she actually pimped herself to a random stranger in a filthy clubhouse just for some penny! Who knows if she has contracted a deadly virus or disease? Juliete Jones sneered from where she was sitting at the couch.

Meanwhile on the staircase, Anamika stood at the staircase landing watching the scene play out. She was leaning against the banister with her chin propped on her hands.

She was happy that Atleast now, Diana would be divorced and thrown out and she won't get to expose her dirty deeds.

Diana's winced in pain as tears rolled down her cheeks. Trembling uncomfortably, she couldn't help but feel a chill in her heart. She raised her head to meet the stare of Eddy and her soon to be ex-husband untrusting grimace.

She wordlessly signed the divorce papers as her tears drenched it bit by bit. She rose to her feet and walked upstairs to pack up her things.

She got stabbed by her so called beloved mother in-law and sister-in-law law and was used by some random gigolo. On top of that, she got home and met her husband, Harvey cuddling her old lover, in addition he gave her divorce papers to sign. Their marriage of three years was finally ending all because she couldn't afford to give birth to an heir.

Eddy hated her and desperately needed a grandchild, thus she had a reason. But Anamika? Why would she wickedly do this to her?

She trusted Harvey, even though it occured to her that Harvey's relationship with her old time lover never ended.

As Diana dragged her luggage out of the Scott mansion through the front yard, Anamika walked up to her and offered to help her with her luggage but Diana reacted by slapping her hands away.

"Get lost! What did I ever did to you?" Diana demanded in her weak crying tone.

"Nothing... I only offered to help. You can get lost for all I care! And don't think of coming back!" Anamika snapped, showing her true colors.

Diana only tightened her fist in rage and pain,

Anamika watched Diana board a taxi and the taxi disappeared into the thin air as it drove farther and farther away. A smug smile of accomplishment appeared on Anamika's face as Diana was long gone.

Not only was her evil secrets going to be protected, her best friend, Juliete jones was going to marry her brother, Harvey.

Just as she was about to head back into the mansion, a Maybach Mercedes Benz car zoomed and halted in the front yard. Anamika was quite taken aback, no one in Delta City has the latest version of the Maybach Mercedes Benz except for the five star general.

What was he doing in the Scott's mansion?

Delta city was under the military rule of governance and as such the five star general was the head and most powerful person in Delta city in a whole and even beyond.

Behind the Maybach Mercedes Benz, a military G-Wagon halted and four military officers armed in full got down from the car and rushed to stand before the Maybach Benz in lines.

With a long leg forward, a man stepped out. He was tall and had the typical military body build. He was wearing a white suit, simple and elegant, yet expensive and posh at the same time.

"Five star general?" Anamika was shocked and frozen in place.

Derick, the five star general swept his emotionless and blank cold eyes over Anamika, scrutinizing her head to toe.

"Are you Anamika Scott?" He asked, his voice was stern as he approached Anamika.

Anamika's heart suddenly skipped a bit, she hoped she didn't do anything to upset the five star general and how the fuck did he know her name?

She then nodded in horror and chimed, "Yes?"

"You reserved room 306 at Diamond star hotel?" He pressed in,

Anamika nodded in response. "Yes!"

Chapter 3 Condition For Forgiveness

Derrick had his men investigate and found out the room plaque numbers were misplaced, definitely why the lady who reserved 306 ended up in his room, Room 309.

"Were you the lady that spent the night with me there?"

Anamika's expression changed all of a sudden as she tried to connect the dots.

Room 306, Diamond star hotel. How did the five star general ended up there? She thought. Anamika was stalked between answering yes and no. How can she say she was not the one who spent the night there when she clearly reserved the room?

"Yesss...." She heard herself say.

"Oh thank God" Derrick heaved a sigh of relief when he heard her.

"Sorry about my misconduct and misbehavior last night" Derrick quickly said, apologetically.

With Anamika shocked, he continued, "The room plaque numbers were misplaced wrongly! I'm really sorry!"

What? Diana actually lucked out? She definitely ended up in his room, instead of room 306. Clearly, it was not the ugly plumped gigolo that Diana spent the night with and so what? She lucked out but this was an opportunity of a long time, who would let an opportunity of being the five star general's lover slide passed her?

"Okay..." Anamika nodded with a grin. As if it relieved Derrick, he sighed. The guilt was eating up on him.

"I can only forgive you if you marry me...." Anamika dropped the bombshell.

*******

Nine months later, Diana gave birth to a set of triplets after settling down in United City, a neighboring city.

She was commissioned via the Army Reserve Officers' Training Corps program four months time and seven years later, she successfully navigated her way to the top and is now a four star general in the united City Army, a commander to the united City southern command. Prior to that she was a commanding general of a top brigade in the united City.

Not long ago, she was appointed as a surgeon general due to her impressive medical skills, literally she was now a senior military medical officer, the head of the military medical services as well as a four-star general in the united City.

Her new name, General Laura has spread worldwide and infact globally and is an epitome and her story now standing as an inspiration to junior officers in the military academies. However, her identity was hidden for some reasons. They only knew her as the incredible General Laura.

Presently, she is on a week off and was seated on the green grass field at her backyard with her triplets.

The family of four were meditating crossed-leg like typical monks praying.

Over the years, her children would join her in her early morning training and on the heels of that, they were on holidays and now they were spending almost all their time with their beloved mum.

With her legs crossed, Diana was in front while the three little miracles sat opposite to her, all crossed-leg providing them with a stable base of meditation.

General Laura's mansion was strictly guarded my military officers, to ensure she is safe all the time.

Around the perimeters of the field, there are well armed to the tooth military officers positioned there, and also a burly, and a fierce looking bouncer radiating an oppressive aura was standing few metres behind Gen Laura . He was wearing a sunglass and a black military uniform with the badge called the aiguillette worn on his shoulder, it is a braided cord in gold which indicated he was an aide-de-camp to General Laura. Literally, it means he is the personal aide to united City's female four star general.

A minute into General Laura and her kids meditation, a harsh ring of the military telephone cut through General Laura's daze, she forced open her eyes as she jumped back to reality.

The Adjutant general(Aide-de-camp) reached out to the telephone inside his suits breast pocket and answered, "Hello?" He sounded normal, but his chest was not. He held the receiver out to General Laura. "It's for you." He said as he dashed forward.

General Laura took the phone. She could still feel the pounding of her heart in her throat, like the fluttering wings of an insect trapped under her skin, definitely, it was the after effect of meditating .

On looking at the caller ID, Diana froze and jerked up

" It's the president, calling from the white house. Something's happened or they need my attention." She gestured.

She swallowed. "Hello sir!"

"You pledged your alliance to united City right?" The voice at the other end responded with a question instead,

"Yessss?" General Laura looked up and saw Jared, the adjutant general watching her. Her glance was not a friendly one, it was sufficient to tell Jared that he ought not stand by her and listen to her conversations over the phone.

Jared quickly retreated backwards as he didn't want a bad report after his years of service.

General Laura's kids on the other hand were still deep in their meditation as their mother excused herself few metres away,

"Delta City is our city's alliance and they are need of our support. On that ground, we're giving you the duty to go over there with your tropes and help their injured combatants recuperate... Also, support their military tropes..." The president's voice cut in swiftly, his tone clearly indicating authority.

Delta city had just engaged in a Battle and many of their military officers were severely injured and the war was not yet over. Their five star general became option less that he had to ask for help from his city's alliance.

"Duly noted, sir!" General Laura saluted from this side in agreement. She dares not to disobey the order from her superiors. Afterall, it was her duty.

At exactly seven hours time, general Laura and her tropes landed at Delta city military airport in a majestic manner.

Being the active commander of the largest united City command unit, She had over 20,000 military officers under her command. However, she only arrived with a platoon of soldiers and a platoon of military medical officers.

They arrived in two military aircrafts with their well loaded weapons and medical bags and instruments.

Meantime, Delta City military officers were standing at an attention as they welcomed the arrival of the legendary General Laura. Some of them now managed to grasp a silver of hope as the military aircraft landed.

Delta city five star general also did well by coming out personally to welcome General Laura, although Five Star general Derrick was at a higher rank than General Laura, he deemed it fit to give her the respect she deserves, After all he was the one in need.
