Devil In Disguise.

KELVIN'S POV

The day dawned crisp and clear as the sun poured through my windows bringing along with it new hopes and aspirations. I rubbed my blurry eyes and walked to the window to catch a glimpse of the rising sun casting its rosy hues across the sky. I was anything but ready to face the day without Mom. She had gone on a trip and would return today.

I dragged myself to the bathroom,brushed my teeth and took a quick shower. After changing outfits, I run down the stairs and met Jackie and Jeoffery already seated at the table. I inhaled my breakfast, scrambled for my Key and jacket and made to race for the door.

I had turned the door nob already when my phone rang. It was an unknown number.

"What!!" I exclaimed in shock as my phone fell lifelessly from my hand. The news I heard on the phone struck me so hard that I fell to the ground like an empty sack released from a height. All eyes in the room were now fixed in on me shock and confusion as to why I exclaimed as such and fell hard to the ground. The wind whirled around me and the world went black. At first, I couldn't process what I had heard. A shiver raced down my spine and tremor of pain struck my heart as if pierced with an arrow.

"Oh, my God!! Kelvin C. What is it?" l heard jeoffery exclaim as he made fast paces towards me to pick me off the ground.

"what is it Kel C, what happened Kel C, he interrogated. I kept mute as if I heard nothing he said. "Answer me," he asked again but still nothing

"Jackie get a glass of water," I heard jeoffery say out loud to my sister. She brought it hurriedly and I took a sip.

He asked again "Kel C what is it"?

" It's mo mo mo". I stuttered out of shock.

"What is mo mo mo" he interrogated.

JEOFFERY'S POV

Kel c is making no sense here at all, what could be wrong"? I asked turning to Jackie who looked down much worried and confused about his brother. Minutes ago, Kelvin had jolted from his sleep looking lively as ever, what happened now.

"The phone!! " Jackie blurted out as her eyes fell on phone dropped from Kevin's hand moments ago.

" Yes! You're a genius Jackie", I said to her as I rushed to where the phone was lying.

I picked it up and hurriedly checked the recently received number, it was Kel C's mom.

"Jackie it's ur mom," I said to her.

"What could Mom have told Kelvin to cause this sudden muteness and stammering"? Jackie asked already in fear. I shrugged

I dialed the number to call back." hello mummy " I said when the call was answered.

"Halo" a deep voice replied.

"Who are u, please? " I questioned him immediately on noticing the unfamiliar voice

" I'm inspector Ernest A.K.A Junior Einstein". He replied explaining boastful

"Whatever, this is Miss Caries's phone may I know where she is?

"Oh the accident victim? But I told you already". He added hesitantly .

"Nope. It wasn't me, that was my friend and did I just hear you say accident " I replied and asked when a shrill ran down my spine on what I've heard.

" Yes I'm sorry but we lost the victim" he sadly announced

"What!! Miss Carrie died in an accident"? I exclaimed

"No, it can't be! not my mom!" I Heard Jackie say out loud and she burst into tears...

ONE MONTH AFTER MOM'S BURIAL

Jackie's POV

"Hey guys dinner is ready!!"I screamed out from the dinner table to call my brothers.

Oops, sorry there were no proper introductions the first time. I'm Jackie Clyde, 18 years old and Kelvin Clyde my elder brother who is 20 years.,and Jeoffery my brother's friend who we took in recently because he lost his parents. I sometimes regret we took him in. Sadly we also lost our dad not too long ago and our mom followed recently .

Kelvin is automatically the CEO of the Clyde's company after our parents passed away and that had been our source of income since then.

"Jackie what did you make today, am damm hungry," Jeoffery said as he descended the stairs.

"There he goes again," I said within me.

"I made your favourite... Rice and chicken wings". I said as I faked a smile when I saw my brother's gaze

"Wow. Mouth-watering." He remarked as they sat down

I began to serve the food.

"I won't eat much" Kelvin said lost in thoughts.

"What is wrong with him again, " I thought. It was as if the passing of mother affected him much than any of us. Since then he has turned cold and his way of behaviour has changed. He used to be lively and jovial when our parents were alive.He would usually behave as if he was the last born but since these tragic events, he's totally turned into a new being.

The food serving was done in no time. and then as if been timed by someone, the doorbell rang before each of us could even taste the food.

I went to check who it was. Three men, two dressed in all black and one in white and black stood at the gate.

"Good afternoon ma'am". he said.

"Huh, me? ma'am"? I chuckled within.

"Yh afternoon" I replied more clearly.

Jeoffery's POV

Curiosity rushed me to the door to check who it was also. I strodded casually to the door after Jackie who was already speaking to the anonymous people.

"Oh inspector," I said on reaching where they were.

"What's your name again, " I asked rhetorically.

" Einstein, yeah junior Einstein " I replied myself after straining my head to remember his name.

" Wossup negga" I switched from the normal ascent doing a nigga's talk.

"I'm sorry but I'm not here for your foolish dramatic scene" The officer replied rudely

Feeling ashamed and foolish I kept mute.

"Where is Mr Kelvin Clyde?" the officer asked.

"I'm here" Kelvin replied as he walked towards us.

You are under arrest for killing your mom.

What??!! We all gasped in shock.

KELVIN'S POV

"What!! Killed my mom? Haha, you got to be kidding me, officer. " I asked jokingly

"Yoo man I'm not kidding here okay? The officer retorted.

But what the hell are you....the officer cut me off before I could even finish my statement.

"Say something and it would be used against you in a court of law" he added looking serious.

I watched idly as the handcuffs were manoeuvred around my wrist

"Jeez officer, take it easy with my bro...we can settle this amicably, how much do you want?" Jeoffery said worriedly and pleasingly.

"Hey young man, you better watch your words before it lands your friend in bigger trouble " the officer replied With rage.

"Okay enough of the drama here, take him to the car" the officer instructed his other men to do so.

They single handedly grabbed me and we walked to their car outside. I was overly resistant with they arresting me for such a hideous act. I clenched my fist in rage as he ordered his men to take me in. He wore a unpardonable look on which already showed he wasn't going to pardon me. As such, I held on to my ego as they forced me inside the car.

Sooner after his rants, he shove himself into the driver's seat and sped off abruptly leaving the escapee particles of air to float in the atmosphere

Jackie's POV

I stood there helplessly watching my brother being taken away by the police for a crime I hardly believe he committed.

"Oh dear God, why does it seem like calamity keeps falling on our family when a Ray of happiness seems to be shining on us?

What did my family ever do to deserve all this, first it was Dad, then Mom and now Kelvin, Oh heavens please have mercy"

All these thoughts rushed through my mind as tears rolled down my cheek.

"And you! Was that all you had left in that empty head of yours to say?" I said with rage as tears gushed out of my eyes turning to Jeoffery.

"Was there nothing much sensible to do to help rather than attempting to bribe the officer? I sometimes wonder why my brother allowed you into our home. All you do is eat and waste money and nothing else!!!. I angrily added.

"You know what, I never had the opportunity to tell you this but I hate you Jeoffery. I've been pretending all this while in front of my brother that I like you but deep down inside I despise you" I said angrily.

"But what did I do Jackie? He asked annoyingly, his eyes dilating in suprise at the words I just shot at him.

"You did nothing, but I still hate you" I retorted.

"You do act dull and amoral sometimes when you know we are in serious times" I added furiously

And anyway, how did you know the officer's name I asked with a frown.

"Eerrm he told me on the phone when he called to announce your mom's death." He replied picking his words.

"And how were you able to recognise him when he came here?" I asked quizzically as a hint of suspicion spread across my face.

"I, I, I," he stuttered not knowing what to say.

"I what?" I shouted.

"Whatever, keep that to yourself, " I said angrily as I walked passed him taking the stairs to my room.

On reaching my room I picked up my phone to make a call.

Daphne's POV

It's past two already and I haven't had a call from Kelvin yet, or he has forgotten that we have an outing to go today. I thought as I picked up my phone to call him but a call came in, it was Jackie. I answered on the second ring.

📞"Hi Daphne" she greeted.

📞Hello Jackie, thank God you called, I was about to call Kelvin, Is he home" I inquired immediately from her.

📞"Hmm " she sighed

📞What is it, Jackie? I asked with a concerned voice.

📞"Kelvin was just arrested today she said with a mutter in her voice

📞what! That's not possible, Kelvin wouldn't hurt a fly. And what proof did that inspector give? I asked angrily.

📞"None, errrm we actually didn't ask" she replied slowly

📞What you didn't!!? Oh goodness and where was that friend of his, Jeoffery? I asked in frustration.

📞He was right here, he couldn't say anything reasonable. Jackie retorted.

📞"OK you know what, just meet me at the taxi station. We are going to the police station now" I said to her and hung up.

I quickly went inside the bathroom and took a quick shower. I tied a towel around me and creamed my body. I went into my wardrobe and changed into something casual and stormed out of the house.

On reaching outside I flagged down a taxi. "Taxi station " I said to the driver and he nodded before he took off.

In the taxi, I laid my head back to rest, I began to remember all the good times I spent with Kelvin, the promises we made to be by each other's side whether good or bad.

The Car screeched to a halt at the taxi station waking me up from my thoughts, I alighted and paid him. Immediately on alighting, I sighted Jackie and Jeoffery from a distance, in a hastily manner, i caught up with them and we headed to the police station.

We entered and whisked ourselves directly to the counter. "Walk straight ahead and branch right " the woman who sat at the counter calmly directed to the chief inspector's office.

The directions led to a luxurious office, as we entered, we looked in awe admiring the beautiful decorations in the office.

The office housed numerous awards and citations which proved that the officer was very powerful and hardworking.

He was a thick tall dark man, who was around his mid-fifties. He was a bit muscular and had facial hair all over. He had dark hair with a pinch of grey hair uniformly scattered in it.

We greeted and started to make enquiries about the arrest of Kelvin by the so-called inspector Einstein.

"I'm sorry madam but we have no records of such arrest to be permitted and to be done in our files. And there's no inspector by that name here." These were the words of the chief inspector when we enquired.

"What!!! We all screamed in total surprise with gloomy expressions drawn on our faces as we stared at the inspector.

If Kelvin wasn't arrested by any police then where is he?

And who were these people who framed themselves as officers? I asked in shock as we stormed out of the station.

KELVIN'S POV

"Hey, where are you guys taking me? I blurted out making them turn to give me a deadly stare

Do you think I'm too stupid to know we've passed the police station already? And besides this ain't the route to the station. What the fuck is going on here man" I asked in anger and fear as I perspired heavily

"Hey, bro you better shut up bro before I rip out your head" One of them screamed at me pointing his revolver on me.

"For your information, you are being kidnapped, " the other man said as he covered my nose with a handkerchief which contained a pungent invasive chemical.

The unidentified substance overly fought its way into my olfatory lobes. Suddenly, the world around me went black as my muscles gave in to invasive chemical to take control of my system, entering me into an unconscious state of total darkness

The hours dragged by so quickly but we still had no news on the whereabouts of Kelvin. I was so frustrated and scared pacing to and fro in my room when I remembered something suddenly.

Flashback

It was a cold and chilly night when I was resting on my couch watching an Indian TV series dubbed " TU AASHIQUE" when I heard my doorbell ring.

"Who could it be at this ungodly hour?" I thought as I walked to the door.

I was extremely surprised when I saw Kelvin standing behind the door when I peeped through the hole in the door. I quickly opened the door and gave him a tight hug.

He smelt so good, he looked so much hot, handsome and well built in his tight Jean and black hoody. I disengaged from the hug and let him in.

We sat close to each other on the couch and he asked me how I was doing. Silence enveloped the room as we stared into each other's eyes lustfully. Then finally he broke the silence.

"Hey babe, I bought a present for you," he said softly.

"Awwn that's so sweet of you. but there was no need for that. Besides it's no special occasion for you to buy me anything. " I replied

"C'mon on babe it doesn't have to be an occasion before I get you a present. Kelvin replied romantically.

"Okay dear," I said beaming with shy smiles.

"Close your eyes, babe." He instructed

I did as he instructed till he asked me to open it. Surprisingly he handed me a small white box which he asked me to open.

"Wow, a gold chain? I love you so much, baby. I said blushing and beaming with smiles.

"And it's not just a gold chain, it has a tracking device fixed in it so that u can know ur whereabouts in case of emergency. I also bought a wristwatch with the same feature connected to your phone so that you can know my location as well provided I'm wearing the watch.

"Wow, baby that's so thoughtful of you. But I think you are being overprotective " I said teasingly.

"Yeah, baby that's because I don't wanna lose you. I love you so much." Kelvin replied softly.

" I love you too babe," I said as we stared again into each other's eyes.

I moved closer to him and planted a soft kiss on his soft lips. I wanted to disengage the kiss but just then he held me tightly around my waist pushing me closer to him and then deepening the kiss.

He carried me in a bridal style and took me up the stairs to my room and placed me softly on the bed, he continued with my lips and then moved to my neck and all other sensible parts for a while.

Softly but crazily, he ripped off my clothes and I did the same unbuckling his belt as we still held on with the kiss. He then inserted his finger into my cl*t to make space. I moaned softly as he increased the pace with his finger. He then tried with his tongue...

Ohh gosh, I wanted more of him in me. I wanted his huge thing. Just as if he could read my thoughts he turned my face down raising me for the doggy style. He teased his d*ck around my p**sy as if to enter as such I wasn't aware when he shove in unexpectedly and withdrew immediately and went in again, he then drew closer setting himself right for the thrusting ...

BACK TO REALITY

"Wheeew" I almost got far with my thoughts...Yes so if Kelvin still has his wristwatch on, I could track him with my phone and know his location. Wow, I never thought this tracking device thing would be useful. I quickly searched for the location and it worked.

The distance the tracking gave meant Kelvin was so out of town. I quickly called Jackie to tell her about what I discovered and told her to bring the car along so we can go searching for him. After the call, I changed into my nightie and went off to sleep.

The next morning, I, Jackie and one other trusted officer set out to trace Kelvin. But something strange had happened. Earlier yesterday when I checked the location, it was in the east but now in the west.

They might have relocated. The officer said

Gradually, we reached the destination the tracker led us to. We were in the middle of a forest. On alighting from the car, my eye caught the blinking of a red light which blinked intermittently. I alerted the officer.

The Officer moved closer in short paces raising his gun above his shoulder in alert of whoever or whatever may show up. He returned with the broken pieces of the wristwatch.

That's Kelvin's watch" I exclaimed.

"If that's so then I think they got alerted and so they destroyed it the officer replied after thinking for a while.

Let's keep searching the officer instructed.

After a fruitless search, we went back home disappointed.

KELVIN'S POV

I woke up from my long unconsciousness to see myself inside a dark and creepy room. My head started aching as if I was hit with something. I tried moving but I couldn't, I was tied up to a chair. I was wearing no clothes either, except my underpants. The door creaked open and a man entered, it was him, the supposed Einstein of an officer.

"Ohh you are awake now," he asked annoyingly

" No I'm washing, don't you have eyes" I replied sarcastically.

" Wow woka foo paa oo" he retorted in the local dialect meaning you speak rubbish "

"Anyway I brought you some food and water" he said as he placed the food down and turned to leave.

"Why have you brought me here?" I asked fuming in anger making him stop.

" I wish I could answer that bro, I'm just doing my Job," he said

"And why the hell have you taken my clothes off? I'm almost naked

"Shut the mother motherfucking up, we realised you had a stupid tracker on so we had to take all your stuffs off.

Only God knows what would have happened if the boss hadn't called on time to alert us about your tracker watch " he responded angrily.

"Boss? Who is your Boss? I asked angrily switching my eyes in curiosity to them

"My boss? Don't worry you'll get to meet them soon" he said as he exited the room slamming the door.

Them???? I thought as he left.
