Adonis shot out of bed as he opened his eyes, his room was dark but he could see everything that was inside and he sighed when he realized it was all a dream again. He was already used to the dreams and didn't freak him out anymore but he needed to control it. He can't remain a slave to his past forever. "Here" a voice said from the shadows and he saw a hand extend towards him with a glass of water.

"I knew You would be here" Adonis mocked as he collected the glass but he didn't drink the water, instead he placed it on his bedside table, "quit staying in my room at night zeth, I may kill you one day" "It doesn't matter if you drink it or not" the voice from the shadows said again as his face came into view. He had a very pretty face and his hair was long and curly, "now get dressed" he added as he went to stand beside the window and threw it open. A gust of wind blew past his face and his hair danced in sync with it. "I am not in the mood to go out tonight. Make sure you close my door when you leave ``Adonis retorted as he laid down back on his bed but he didn't close his eyes. He left them wide open and his mind drifted back to the dream he had. "You don't have a choice now Adonis, you have to get up whether it pleases you or not" the way zeth spoke made it obvious. He was not threatening the man on the bed but he was still making sure that he knew what declining meant. Sighing heavily, Adonis climbed out of bed. He only had a towel around his waist and he was very tall. He had the type of zeth's hair but his was a bit shorter but his face was much more beautiful like a pretty demon and his height was also a "wow" he was a bit taller than zeth making him look all dominating and perfectly evil. Walking towards his closet, he didn't even bother to check for a particular cloth because everything inside the closet was white. From his shirts to his pants, everything was white, even down to his underwear. Pulling out a shirt, he threw it over his well built body and picked up a random pant before going back to the bed. "You should wear a jacket, the weather is pretty chilly" zeth advised, still standing near the open window while he stared at the city lazily. It was already past ten in the night but the whole city was still full of life. "Why don't I use you as my jacket then?" Adonis teased before walking out of the room. He didn't bother to call the guy because he knew he was going to follow suit anyways. The moment he walked out of his room, the hallway down the stairs became lit up and he sighed again before going down the stairs. His two brothers were both still in the living rooms and they were playing a game of card. How he hated all those things and how dare they even play it in his house?Were they tired of living? "We thought you won't come out of your room tonight" the one who looked the oldest said, his name was seth. The two of them looked just as handsome as Adonis and zeth but Adonis was toping that list. They all looked like they came from another planet entirely. "Don't come over to my place and make it filthy with your stupid cards, ' ' Adonis retorted before walking out of the house while Zeth appeared at the top of the gold coated stairs. He looked expressionless and no one would be able to know what he was thinking. "Are you taking Adonis out again?" The other brother asked, his name was zeke. "Your brother hates the game of cards, I suggest you pack it up before he gets back" saying that he followed the same route Adonis followed and the two boys made a shooting motion after him. "They both look dead" seth muttered while zeke just smiled but didn't say anything. After all, he knew his brother well. ........ Adonis was Leaning on his black Bentley lazily when zeth walked up to him, he looked so uninterested in his environment but zeth was not bothered. That was typical Adonis by the way. "So where are you taking me this time around?" "The hospital" "Why?" He raised his brows In confusion, all the times zeth took him out it was either for a drive or even a drink or cliffs and mountains now he was taking him to the hospital? "Let's just say, you have a job to do '' saying that, he got in the passenger's seat and waited until the big guy entered the car before they zoomed off. They both were people who didn't talk much so the car was unusually quiet as Adonis drove, occasionally he would throw zeth a look but the latter had his eyes closed. "Focus on the road ahead Adonis and stop looking at me" he said with his eyes still closed and for the first time that might, Adonis scoffed before turning his full attention to the road. After a few minutes' drive, the car pulled up in the parking lot of the city's biggest hospital and they both alighted before making their way inside. "Thank God you are here, doctor" the hospital director quickly rushed to him and Adonis was surprised, today was his day off so why did the hospital director look so scared. Adonis Chernobog, one of the city's richest and most handsome men. A multi-billionaire who also worked at the hospital as a surgeon but deep within him, he hated it. "What do you mean?" Adonis asked the hospital director. "We have been trying to get through to you sir but we couldn't. A patient had a severe case of concussion in his brain and a tumor is also growing in the affected area. It is hard to operate on him now sir" Adonis glanced at zeth for a while and he didn't miss the smirk on his face. "So this is why you brought me huh?" "I will see you after the operation" and like that, he turned on his heel and walked away, not bothering to take another look at the man he brought to the hospital. "Prepare the operation theatre, I will get ready" Adonis said after a while and walked towards his office with an expressionless look on his face. Even the nurses and some of the patients couldn't stop ogling at him as he passed, he was like a piece of snack everyone wanted to eat. ................................................................................................................................................ The time was already past seven in the morning when the theater doors opened and the team filed out, they all looked very tired except Adonis. He still looked as composed as ever and only had a slight frown on his face. "Thank you for your hard work sir" the hospital director said genuinely. He was always cautious around Adonis because to him, the man was very different. "Make sure to give him the dexamethasone two hours after he wakes up" "Yes sir" Without saying anything again, Adonis went into his office and was not surprised to see zeth in his office and he had a piping hot cup of coffee with him. "Coffee?" "Should I perhaps burn your face with it?" The two of them never seem to say nice words to each other, it looked like they were pretty much comfortable with being harsh with each other. "You don't look tired at all" he mocked "You look more stressed out than I am" Adonis mocked back as he hung his lab coat on its hanger revealing his well toned muscles. "Here, have some coffee. You may be called for another surgery soon. Who knows?" "I am going home to rest, make sure you don't disturb me or I will snap your head in two" zeth smirked and stood up, "no need to get agitated Adonis chernobog. I am just stating the obvious" Suddenly the door to his office burst open and another low ranking doctor entered inside. "Doctor Adonis, emergency" zeth had a "I told you so look on his face" "Okay" Adonis replied, then he picked up another lab coat again before flipping it over his body. "Make sure the patient doesn't die" "Maybe you will die before him" Adonis hissed before walking out of the office while zeth gaze deepened as he watched him go. ............ In the operation theatre. The patient was lying on the operation table with a big cut on his head. His skull was badly damaged and part of the brain was sipping out giving him a gory look. "First of all" Adonis began professionally, "we have to gauge the brain to stop it from sipping out again. Apply two milligrams of anesthesia to him" "Yes doc" the assisting nurse answered and set to work" "You" he gestured to another doctor, "you will help me get into his skull" "Yes doctor" "And you" he gestured to the last doctor, "keep a tab on his vitals. He can't die" "Yes doctor" They immediately set to work, he first of all injected some anesthesia into the patient before he picked up the Medical grill and bore some holes into the open skull. The entire process was a very rough one because the patient kept slipping in and out of a coma even in his unconscious state while his blood pressure shot up real bad. "His vitals are giving danger signs, doctor" the doctor in charge of the patient's vital's announced. "Difilibrator, 200" Adonis ordered immediately and everyone in the room went to work, most especially Adonis. The patient can not die, he wasn't allowed to die not in his hands. "Beep!! beep!! beep!! beep!! beep" the monitor kept beeping so fast as the whole room was thrown into panic. If this man died then he would be the first to ever die under doctor Adonis, he was the most renowned surgeon of all times. After using the defibrillator on him for a while, the beeping slowly returned to normal and everyone sighed except Adonis who maintained that expressionless look on his face. "I will sew him back up now" he announced and after another seven hours of operation, it was finally successful. After everyone walked out of the room, Adonis decided to sit on the porch not too far from the theater. He didn't want to go to his office because he knew zeth would be there and he was not In the mood to exchange words with him. As he sat on the porch, his mind drifted back to the dreams he always had and he closed his eyes while massaging the space between his brows. He was not tired, he just needed a little rest. After a while, he noticed a nurse walk up to him and he really wanted to hiss out loud. He made it clear to everyone in the hospital that aside from important work, he didn't want anyone close to him but with the way she was smiling and swaying her hips from left to right, he knew she was up to no good. "Doctor Adonis" she called in a feminine voice as she slowly tucked part of her hair behind her ears. "What do you want?" His voice sounded so authoritative and she found herself flinching for a split second. "I just saw that you came out of the operation and you are still alone, is there something I can do for you?" Adonis sat up as his eyes traveled around her and he was disgusted, she was so fake. "Actually you can do something for me" "Anything doctor" "Stay away from me" he said in a calm manner but his voice held so much weight. Without waiting for her reply, he left. zeth who was standing far off this time had a grim look on his face and he didn't look pleased at all. ............ Not bothering to go back into his office, Adonis walked straight to the parking lot and the annoying guy was still there. "You are not too poor to afford a ride home zeth" he raised an eyebrow at him while the latter just opened the car door and entered. "You should be lucky I am here with you" his voice contained a sense of ridicule but Adonis was past caring about that. "Make sure you don't come to my room tonight" "Make sure you don't get the dreams then" The two of them kept staring at each other for a while until zeth broke his own gaze and closed his eyes. "Don't sleep too deep. I might push you out of the car" Adonis warned. "You wish" the latter replied and the man drove out of the hospital parking lot. The drive home was the usual quiet one and even the moment he reached home, Adonis didn't bother to wake him up and walked right into the house where seth and zeke were. The both of them were not surprised to see him rather they smiled at him. "Another day successful" seth was the one who spoke. "By the time I come back later, I don't want to see any of you here" His gaze then flew to his fireplace and his eyes darkened. "Who sat on my chair?" The two of them gulped. "Who?" "It was seth, I warned him but he wouldn't listen" zeke finally said in an apologetic voice, he knew his brother and his forbidden temper. After staring daggers at his brother for a while,he called out to the butler who came running after a few seconds. "Sir" "Change the chair by the fireplace" he paused, " and you seth, I will snap your body in half if I ever see you on that chair again" and like that, he walked out on them. "He seems to be getting worse by the day" zeke whispered. "Why don't you both get a life?" zeth's voice filtered into their ears. "Oh please, zeth. You are way worse" zeth's lips curved up into a thin smile before walking out of the house again, after all his day's job was done.

"I am off dad" a bubbly young girl of twenty two rushed out of her room in a black Jean and blue shirt while she had a black cap on her head. This was Amy, the eldest daughter of the Winston couple and she had a very bubbly character making everyone she came across like her. "Did you pack your lunch?" Her junior brother of seventeen asked as he walked out of his own room. It was just a two room apartment but it still felt like him. While her parents shared one, she turned the store into her own beautiful room and allowed her brother to use the other.

Amy's eyes opened wide in horror as she heard his question, "I don't want to take lunch to the library Rome '' she whispered but he was not going to hear her excuse this time around. She was always looking for ways to avoid taking lunch. "Mum" Rome called, "she has refused to take her lunch again" "You should be siding with me" Amy pouted but instead he laughed at her. A few seconds later, her mum arrived at the door and she had her lunch box with her. "I already told you not to purposely skip lunch Amy, won't you even listen to your own mother?" Mrs Winston feigned annoyance and her two kids laughed. She was always overly dramatic. "Of course mum, I will take the lunch box with me everyday. Now I have to go" saying that she kissed them goodbye and hurried away on her scooter. Amy worked at the city's main library and earned a hundred bucks per hour which was already enough for a contented girl like her. While her father was a retired mailman and her mother was a pro at making yarn, they all lived happily and supported her brother who was in college. They didn't have much but at least they were all content with the life they had. "You should also prepare for college, I will fix up your breakfast" Mrs Winston said after her daughter's scooter was out of sight but Rome declined. "No mum, I don't have classes today. I know Amy left her room scattered again so I will help her arrange it and weed the garden" She smiled at her son before going back into the kitchen to fix her husband's breakfast. God blessed her with the most beautiful family on earth. Amy hastily walked into the library, it was almost packed full and the chief Librarian's lips curved up into a smile as she saw Amy. "I am sorry I am late ma'am, there was a lot of traffic" she immediately apologized. "It's okay moreover it's not such a tedious work by the way" The Liberian also known as Mrs Peters was a woman in her late forties and she looked very pretty and composed and she was also very kind to her and Amy loved her a lot. Because of her bubbly nature, the universe chose to provide her with people who equally loved her as much. "Your mother called and told me to make sure you eat your lunch" "Ughh" Amy pouted, "I am not a kid anymore" "You still are" They continued with their chit chat as the library got filled up. This was her everyday routine, from work straight home. Then at times she hung out with her best friend. Speaking of her best friend, Amy took out her phone and dialed a number, the person from the other end answered almost instantly. "I can see you were waiting for my call" "Come of it" Jenna answered mockingly, Jenna was her best friend's name, "I was about to call you" "You sound worried, what is the matter?" Jenna sighed,"mum just called me and apparently I have to go visit my grandmother in the hospital. She was diagnosed with diabetes and I have to go visit her" "Oh grandma Wendy, such a bright soul," Amy exclaimed. "So are you coming? "I will meet you outside your house after work and we can go together on my scooter" "Thank you best friend, I knew I could count on you" "What are friends for?" Amy asked, "well I gotta go... bye" then she pressed the end button. "Grandma Wendy came down with diabetes" she told Mrs Peters and the latter shook her head in sympathy. "I hope she gets better, I enjoy chatting with her a lot" "I hope so too," Amy said sincerely. ..... It was already past three in the afternoon when Amy's scooter came to a halt in front of her best friend's house and she could see Jenna hastily descending down the stairs hurriedly. "What is pursuing you?" She asked, raising an eyebrow. "Well, I still have to go to your house and see my uncle and aunt. It's been a while" "Yes, yes. Hop on and let's ride" The two of them were practically sisters and both their parents knew them. For close to fifteen years, they were both friends and helped each other a lot. Jenna's family was more well off than Amy's but that didn't get in the way of their friendship. "The hospital seems busy today" Jenna exclaimed as they both alighted from the scooter. "The hospital is always a busy place, block head" Amy teased as they made their way into the hospital then to the reception. "How may we help you?" The receptionist asked politely. "We are here to see Wendy. Wendy Mattew's" Jenna answered while Amy kept looking around the hospital until her eyes fell on a certain someone but she quickly looked away. "The second floor, room 305. Take the elevator" "Thank you" The elevator was already packed full by the time they arrived having space for only one person. "You should go, I will grab the next one" "Come soon," Jenna said before the elevator doors closed. After waiting for a while, none was available but then she noticed one at the far end of the hallway then she hastily walked towards it. The moment she pressed the button, Amy came in contact with the world's most handsome creations. Why did the men look so pretty and handsome all together?Did they come out of a fairytale or what? One was dressed all white and he leaned on the elevator walls lazily with his hands in pocket while his hair was tied into a ponytail beautifully while the other man had a more complicated look in his eyes but his hair was let down. The one dressed in white had a kingly demeanor while the other one also had a complex aura emanating from him but they were both drop dead gorgeous. The moment her face came into view, the two of rhsm kept staring at her like she was some kind of alien in her simple clothing and big goggles. The man dressed in white sized her from head to toe and he didn't find anything pleasant while the other just kept looking without any expression on his face. "May I?" Her voice sounded so soft and Adonis found himself looking at her for a split second before he gently turned away and didn't answer. "Excuse me miss, that elevator is for private use only" one of the receptionist hurried over, "sorry doctor Adonis, sorry Mr zeth" she apologized and turned to Amy, "this way" With one last look, she followed the nurse away but the faces of those beautiful men were still fresh in her mind. "Must you always look dead?" zeth asked the moment the doors closed again. "Don't talk to me zeth" he hissed and closed his eyes, they still had a couple of floors to go so he could as well enjoy the serenity of the place. zeth who knew better didn't say anything again but his gaze continued to linger on Adonis. .............. When Amy entered grandma Wendy's room, the old lady was happily chatting with her granddaughter and the two of them looked well acquainted. "Why did you take so long?" Jenna pouted. "I kinda took the wrong elevator but I am here now" Amy explained before going over to the woman on the bed, "how are you feeling now grandma?" "I feel much better after seeing the two of you. "You should hurry and get well grandma, Mrs peters sends her greetings" The trio continued their chit chat until the door opened and a tall pretty doctor dressed all white entered and Amy immediately recognized him as the man from the elevator. So he was the doctor in charge of grandma Wendy but why did he look like he didn't even want to be here? "Patient 4067?" Adonis asked the woman, he didn't even acknowledge any of them. "Yes" grandma Wendy answered while ogling at him, she was old but oh boy this doctor was hot. "Your test results are out and I am filling in for the doctor who is supposed to take care of your case. Aside from the diabetes, you are at a risk of developing Parkinson disease so we have to start your treatment before it gets worse" "I will do what you say doctor" Wendy was in a dreamy state and the two girls noticed. "Stop doing that grandma" Jenna whispered, "that's sexual harassment" Adonis raised his eyebrows when heard what she said but he didn't say anything and proceeded to keep the chart on the table, "the nurse will come in an hour to administer your medications" he said and turned to go but Amy stopped him. "So what about her diabetes? You didn't say anything about that" "You should ask the doctor in charge" "You said he is not available at the moment" Adonis massaged the space between his eyes, who was this lady that was making him talk more than necessary? "You can check with the hospital head nurse" he answered after a while" then he turned on his heel and walked away not even looking back. "He looks rude," Amy snickered. "It's always the hot ones," grandma Wendy said in a dreamy voice. "Ewwww, that's gross" the two girls cringed. ............... In Adonis's office. Zeth was no longer in his office when he entered and Adonis was glad. He hated the fact that zeth stuck to him like glue, now he had his office to himself. Pulling his lab coat, he dropped it on one of the sofas and went to sit on his revolving chair then he faced the window. He was on the twelfth floor so he could see almost everywhere from where he was seated. Closing his eyes, the images in his dreams began to appear in his memories again. This time he didn't open his eyes and allowed them to torment him as much as they wanted, he deserved it anyways. Ths soft knock on his door made him open his eyes slowly. "Come in" his deep voice resonated around the room and when he saw the person who entered, he almost flared up. Did she follow him all the way here to annoy him? "Excuse me" Amy's meek voice reached his ears and he sat up. "What do you want now?" " I asked the head nurse and she referred me to you again" Adonis hissed silently, he was talking more than necessary and he hated it. "Are you dumb?" He asked after a while and she was taken aback. "Excuse you?" "I am the doctor in charge of her case so I know what I must do so why are you bothering me?" "Oh excuse me" her savage mood was already activated, "you didn't make it clear, did you" For a moment Adonis was quiet as he examined the lady in front of him. She was dressed casually and didn't look interesting at all but she had a pretty good height, then she would have looked a bit more attractive if she didn't wear those Weird goggles. "Just go, I am in charge of her" he said after a while, he didn't want to speak to her again. "Then you should make that clear next time and not mislead others" Just as she turned to go, everything around her began to blur and she collapsed on the floor right by the door. Adonis almost went mad with rage, what the hell was happening?Was she pretending now?He was a doctor but he didn't feel like helping the talkative on the floor but he knew he had too. Standing up, he walked over to her and felt her pulse. "The stubborn ones never eat" he muttered under his breath as he lifted her and placed her on the sofa, surprisingly, she was very light. He could have called a doctor or even the hospital director to come and take her but he was just too lazy to do that. Hence he went down to the cafeteria on his own floor and grabbed a cup of coffee and some doughnuts for her. Everyone at the cafeteria were happy to see him as some of them openly lusted after him but none had the mind to go near him. By the time he got back to the office, the lady was already awake and she had an awkward look on her like she wanted to cry. "What happened?" Amy asked immediately as he entered the office and a part of him wished she was still unconscious. "If you learned how to eat then maybe you will not faint in my office" he retorted and placed the package in front of her, "get your blood pressure checked too" saying that, he walked into his private condo and closed the door with a loud bang obviously signifying he didn't want to be in her presence anymore. ............ When Amy walked back to grandma Wendy's room, Jenna had a worried look on her face when she saw how pale her friend looked. "What happened?" "Nothing, I just feel a bit unwell" she found it awkward to tell her friend she fainted in that weird doctor's office. "You look so pale," grandma Wendy added. "It's nothing grandma, I will just take a lot of rest vegan I get home" she paused then she remembered something, " I talked to the doctor and he is the one In charge of your case too" "The pretty one?" "Stop it grandma" Jenna reprimanded. After staying with the old lady for a few more hours, the two girls drove away on the scooter but the incident that happened in the hospital was still fresh in her mind. She would never skip her lunch again no matter what. While they were driving away, a certain someone was standing near his window and he seemed to be having a different thought than usual but his musing was cut short when we knew who entered. "This is a first," zeth said as he made himself comfortable on the sofa. "I thought you left for county M?" "You can't get rid of me that easily, Adonis," he mocked. "Get ready, I want you to accompany me somewhere" zeth was lost for words, this was the first time Adonis was ever asking him to go somewhere with him. "Or don't you wanna go?I thought you enjoyed following me around?" "Not exactly Adonis, I just enjoy watching your torture" the latter answered with a smirk. "Very well then, you will get a good show of it today itself" Without saying anything again, the two of them walked towards his private elevator while a few of the nurses ogled at them as usual.

The two of them walked into a house, it looked ordinary from the outside but when they entered, it was magnificent. The house was built with pure gold and the interiors was breathtaking. A woman was standing at the top of the stairs when the two men entered. She had a very long hair which reached her waist line and it was pure white. On her body was a red gown and it clung onto her perfectly showing off her hourglass figure while the color of her lips was the same with her gown.

The minute she saw the two men enter the house, her lip curved up into a smile and she began to make her way down the stairs majestically while the two men stood without expressions on their faces. "I have been waiting for you" she said the moment she got to the foot of the stairs, "I knew you would come" she added still smiling but Adonis was not fazed. Rather he kept looking at her lazily while zeth was leaning on one of the gold pillars, rather than a lazy look, there was a mischievous glint around his eyes. "If you knew I was going to come, why did you keep calling out to me?" Adonis asked lazily. The lady turned towards zeth and the smile on her lips slowly disappeared and it was replaced with a little bit of an angry expression, "Why do you look dead?" She asked. "Maybe a little torture will make my day" he answered not bothering about the angry look on her face, he was already used to her. Without saying anything again, she walked over to one of her sofas and perched on it slowly like a queen. "Sit" "Just get this over with already, Selene" Adonis hissed, "I am not here to chit chat with you" She smirked, " someone is missing his beast mood. Well, I have news for you" This finally piqued zeth's interest and he immediately walked over to a couch and he sat down but stubborn Adonis still stood where he was without moving. Tall and mighty as always. "Do you know what your brothers have been doing behind your back?" Selene asked again but neither of them said anything and she sighed. "I always have to clean up your mess don't I?" "I don't have time for your jokes" "Jk and Lucan have been purposefully hurting people and bringing them to your hospital" This finally piqued the big guy's curiosity and his gaze tuned sharp for a while before going back to usual lifeless and cold one. "So how does that concern me?my job is to save them. How they get hurt is none of my business" "As usual, your ego is still too big. No one is to help you Adonis, no one at all" "Then what is zeth doing?" "Oh please, we both know he is your nemesis" Selene looked like she was enjoying the cold look in his eyes, after all he always looked dead and unlively. "So are you going to punish him because of that?" zeth asked. "What do you think?" "What will it be this time?ten thunder lashes ?twenty?do I have to peel my face?or should I save more people" Selene stood up and walked closer to him before placing her hand gently on his shoulder in a sensual manner, "Oh Adonis, you are always in a hurry to receive your punishment" "Someone here enjoys my torture" he glanced at zeth but the latter didn't have any form of expression on his face. " very well then but I am afraid I will have to punish zeth instead of you today" Both of their eyes opened wide for a while before going back to normal. "Why?" "I am just following orders" She moved away from him and went back to the sofa. "You don't have to punish him for my mistakes, I don't want to be indebted to anyone" "You should learn to have a little less ego Adonis, it will help" "What do I have to do?" Zeth interrupted. "Follow me" Selene stood up and moved towards a closed door while Adonis immediately blocked Zeth's part. "You don't have to take my punishment for me" his voice was cold and devoid of any emotions which made zeth smile a little. "Showing you care for someone doesn't suit you" and like that he walked away without looking back. He didn't stop looking at them until the two of them disappeared behind the door and his gaze intensified. He so badly wanted to squish Selene between his fingers. ............ He didn't know for how long he stood but his eyes immediately went to the door when he saw the knob turn and there she was, walking elegantly towards him and behind her was zeth who was just putting on his clothes and Adonis could see blood patches on his body. "What did you do to him?" He hissed at her. "Just a little advice Adonis. the more you slack off, the more people will get hurt" "I don't take orders from you" he growled. "For now you do" the smile on her face was no longer there but the tall man standing in front of her didn't even care, he was not scared of her. "Send your brothers back home" she turned on her heel and walked back to the sofa. "Don't take my punishment for me next time" Adonis growled at zeth, turned on his heel and walked out of the room. Adonis leaning on his car when zeth walked up to him, he didn't bother to say anything to him and just boarded the car and as usual, he closed his eyes and placed his head on the car headrest. After a while, Adonis entered the car too but he didn't drive, rather he turned his whole attention to the man beside him. "What kind of punishment did she give you?" "It doesn't matter Adonis, just drive" "I have my ego to protect zeth so I am warning you" Without saying anything again, he turned on the ignition and zoomed out of the compound but the man beside him didn't even care and just kept his eyes closed. ................................................................................................................................................ In Amy's house. A piping hotpot was placed in the middle while Jenna's eyes danced with joy. Coming to her friend's house always had its perks. "Oh aunt, I so love your hotpot. Should I come and live here with you?" Jenna squealed excitedly and everyone laughed at her, she was a big fan of food. "You can sell your soul for food Jenna" Rome teased and the latter pouted. "Look auntie, Rome is being mean to his elder" "Stop being a meanie Rome" Mr Winston chipped in. " he is right dad, Jenna loves food alot" Amy chipped in. Dinner with Jenna was always fun and when they were done with dinner, they washed the dishes and made their way to her room. It was a bit spacious and had a sense of Amy in every corner of the room. Her favorite color was yellow so her room had a good amount of yellow stuff. "Wash up and I will arrange the bed" Amy said and Jenna nodded before plodding Into the bathroom, a few minutes later she was out and Amy did the same. It was already past nine in the night when the two of them finally jumped into bed while Amy picked up a book from her mini library right at the corner of her bed. "Do you still have to read again?" Jenna pouted. "In less than five minutes, you will be snoring away and I have to deal with your bad snoring so a book to keep the thoughts away" Amy answered in a mocking tone. "Oh please, I don't snore" The two fell on talking and at intervals their giggles could be heard. "That doctor was hot though" Jenna chipped in casually and Amy gave an awkward smile when she remembered what happened in his office. "I fainted today in that doctors office" she couldn't hide it any longer especially not from her best friend. "What? How come?" "Maybe it was because I didn't eat my lunch" Jenna rolled her eyes, "you always skip your lunch" "I won't do that again, I promise" After a few more talks, Jenna actually fell asleep while Amy was deeply engrossed in the book she was reading but rather than seeing the words, the face of that handsome doctor kept floating over it. .............,... The next morning, Adonis was still sprawled on his bed with his eyes wide open. As usual, he was bare down to his waist and he looked like he didn't even get a single wink of sleep last night but luckily he didn't have the usual dreams again. After hearing footsteps by the door, he turned his head to face the wall because he already knew who was coming. For a man who was a billionaire, his room was too simple. He only had a bed and a candle stand by the far end of the room. The only place that looked luxurious was his closet aside that, his room was nothing to write home about. His door bust open and as usual zeth entered. He looked good as new and didn't have the blood patches on him anymore and he was actually dressed in a pair of blue tailored suit while his hair was tied in a high ponytail. "Must I come to drag you out of bed every morning?" He asked while standing by the door but the big guy on the bed didn't even bother to answer before sitting up. He sized zeth from head to toe and his lips finally curved up in a mocking smile. "It seems you remember that you have a life outside sticking to me like glue right?" Zeth smirked but didn't say anything, he kept looking at the man on the bed until he heard the clock on the wall chime. It was already past nine. "I am off to country M so you have yourself to take care of if anything happens. And for a doctor, you should be in the hospital by now" saying that, he turned on his heel and walked away briskly. After sitting on the bed for a while, Adonis dragged his lazy body from the bed and proceeded into his bathroom m. Weather he liked it or not, he had to go to the hospital. ...... Coming downstairs, he was dressed in a pair of white suit. This time around, he had his hair tied in a bun and he looked like something straight out of a painting. To perfect for a human. "Good morning sir" the butler greeted as he handed him a glass of black coffee. Ever since he began to work for Adonis, he has only seen his boss drink black coffee and nothing more in the mornings and he hardly ever ate. After drinking the coffee, he strode out of the house gently and after awhile, the sound of his black mayback's ignition was heard and he drove away. ............ "Oh my gosh, I am late again" Amy muttered to herself as she drove away on her scooter. It was already past nine and she was not yet at the library m. Well the traffic was to blame and she hoped Mrs peters would understand. Nothing bothering to check how slow she was driving, a car honk immediately made her to stop and if not for her fast reflexes, she would have been thrown off the road. It was an almost lonely road as cars didn't really frequent it but seeing the luxurious car that almost hit her, she was in awe. But that not withstanding, the person in the car had to apologize. "Hey" she went towards the window and knocked but the person in the maybach ignored her which made her to continue knocking until she saw the car door open which made her to move a few inches away from the car. The moment Amy saw the person who climbed out of the car, once again she was lost for words. It was that handsome doctor from the hospital but this time around he looked more mighty and more confident especially in his white suit but the moment she saw his eyes, her heart broke. They always looked lifeless and sad like he didn't even want to exist in this world. "If you are done ogling, can I leave now?" Adonis said in his deep voice and she jolted in embarrassment. "You almost hit me with your car sir" Amy tried fo cover up her shame but the man in front of her looked like he didn't even understand what she was saying. "You were in the middle of the road" Adonis said after a while and she bit her lips. "Is that why you almost crushed me with your car?" The big guy didn't answer as he leaned on his car, then he began to study her. Today she was dressed in a pair of black flat pants and a white crop top coupled with a beige coat and she looked modest yet not exquisite. And what's with the googles anyway?her hair was messy due to the wind but it looked clean. "What are you doing?" She asked when she saw him looking at her weirdly. "If you are done, can I leave?" He asked lazily and Amy didn't know if she should cry or laugh, was he kidding her right now? "Aren't you supposed to apologize?" "For what?" "You almost killed me" she half yelled. "Then you should be lucky, some of us actually wish for it" She didn't know why she felt a tug of pain in her chest as those words left his mouth. It was as if he was begging to be saved. "You should learn to say sorry when you're in the wrong" Adonis didn't even know what to say. Him?say sorry?he had never said sorry before in his life and he was not going to start saying sorry because of this little, this "little fox" in front of him. For a split second, he laughed at himself. How did he even come up with the fox idea? "And why are you laughing?" Amy was amazed, this man almost killed her and he was laughing?is he a psychopath? Checking out his golden watch, Adonis turned his attention on the "little fox again" "Seems you are not prepared for work today" Reality dawned on her and she immediately smacked herself on the head and ran towards her scooter. She didn't even spare the man another look again before driving away, she was sure going to get an earful today. Adonis watched her drive away and didn't move until she was no longer in sight. At least a little interesting thing happened in his life today. Turning on his heel, he entered his car and zoomed off.
