******Jhanavi's pov*****

I was busily working on my project and it was pin-drop silence in my office. Then my mobile started ringing....

Tring. Tring.

I saw the display on my mobile and smiled looking at the name. Immediately, I attended the call because she would be worried if I delayed attending after the fourth ring.

" Do you know, what is the time now?" She started bombarding the questions.

Then I checked the time on the clock hanging on my office wall. The time is 8 at night. At that time I remembered that my pregnant sister will be alone at home.

" Sorry...Sis..will be there in 40 minutes..." I informed and disconnected the call.

I packed all my stuff and took my handbag. I didn't notice my colleagues left until I got a call from my sister. I quickly started to go home as my sister was waiting at home.

I went to the parking lot and started my scooty. I felt so tired and sleepy.

I thought of taking a hot shower as soon as I reached my apartment. I reached home in thirty minutes as there was less traffic. I parked my scooty in the cellar.

I reached my floor in the elevator as it is on the fourth floor. I unlocked the door as I had spare keys with me. It was dark in the hall and I thought my sister was sleeping in her bedroom. I sat on the sofa by closing my eyes. All my energy drained off at the end of the day.

When I was thinking to go to my bedroom, my mobile started ringing

I was really tired to see the name of the person who is calling me so without seeing the name on the mobile I answered the call.

Hello jhanu, Are you back home? I need your help. It's very urgent ...

After hearing the voice from the other side, I opened my eyes and asked " Are you okay Vinay? " with a worried tone.

"Yes dear I am okay.. but I forgot to bring the project file, can you please bring it now. I am already started at the airport"

"You idiot can't you check before you were leaving for the airport.?" I scolded him.

"You can scold me later my flight will take off within three hours. That file is very important. Please come fast..." he pleaded.

"Okay okay, I will be there within one and a half hours. But you have to give me a gift in return." I said.

"Okay dear, first you start from the house with the project file. I will bring you a gift when I return from there..." he said and disconnected the call.

******Vinay pov*******

Today when I started to the office, I wanted to arrange all the things as I am leaving for the Kolkata branch to attend a meeting, directly from the office. When I was leaving for the airport from the office I remember my project file was missing. I thought to go to the flat and bring the file. But I noticed that there was a lot of traffic on the road. If I go to my flat to take the file, I might miss the flight.

I got an idea and then I made a call to Jhanavi, my cute sister-in-law. I requested her to bring my project file to the airport.

I know about her that she will help me in any situation. So I started for the airport directly from my office.

After one hour, I reached the airport and was waiting for her. I panicked that she didn't reach the airport in time.

Almost one and an hour later I didn't find Jhanu. I made a call to her but she was attending my call. I was very tense about whether Jhanu will reach within time or not. To calm me, I closed my eyes and leaned on the chair in the waiting hall.

" VINAY" someone called my name louder.

I turned my head and looked at the person. It was Jhanavi.

Then I noticed she was running towards me with a file in her hand. While she was running, She bumped into someone who was busily talking on his mobile. She didn't bother about that person and came towards me with a bright smile. I only noticed the person wore a black color suit.

I didn't see him whom she bumped into as he bent to take his mobile. My eyes were only on the hand and the project file. I was very happy to see her. She gave me my project file.

Jhanu returned a sweet smile and said " All the best".

" Thank you, dear." I hugged her.

" No need to thank me for small things because whatever I am now is because of you," she replied.

" Okay, it's time for me to check-in. Go home carefully. As soon as you reach home, message me." I pecked her forehead.

" Hmmm.." She replied.

She waved her hand and left me as her sister will be alone at home.

********Jhanavi POV*****

I hurriedly started my scooty and reached the airport. I was searching for Vinay but I didn't find him in the crowd. I thought to call him, and as I turned my head I saw him sitting on a chair with closed eyes.

I smiled that whenever he was in the tension he would close his eyes to calm himself.

I started running towards Vinay to give his project file. In haste, I bumped into a person who was seriously talking on the phone. I didn't have time to apologize to the person as Vinay was getting late. I wanted to give the file to Vinay and said bye.

After Vinay left to check-in, I decided to convey my apologies to that person who I bumped earlier because his mobile was dropped on the floor.

I walked towards him slowly with hesitation.

" Sir, I am so sorry. I didn't ...." My words stuck in my throat seeing that person and could not finish my sentence.

It was Abhi......

There were no words between us.

I could feel...

complete silence

Unbearable pain

Hatred

Suddenly one girl hugged him from behind...

***Jhanavi pov****

I quickly ran away from him on watching some girl hugged him. It had been nearly four years I see him. He was totally changed into a professional business man. He looks more handsome than in our college days. My heart was beating fast remembering about him. My body started shivering and my forehead filled sweat beads.

I looked around, I find only a few people around me. I started my scooty. It was almost 11 pm when I reached home. I reached our flat within 1 hour as there was less traffic. My sister Poornima(poorni) was waiting for me.

She asked me, "how was the day?".

I just nodded as yes.

Again she asked whether I gave the project file to Vinay in time.

"Yes. I am tired and want to take rest" I replied to her.

I went to my room. I got fresh up and curled on bed. I just closed my eyes...

Unknowingly tears were rolling down from my eyes.....

****Abhiram pov****

I was busy talking over the phone. Someone bumped into me, my mobile dropped on the floor. I saw it was a girl wearing a red dress with loose hair. I didn't saw her face clearly. She didn't say sorry for her actions and hugged her friend.

I was shocked to see one girl hugging a man who was familiar to my best friend, Vinay. I can't see them as I got a call from one of my clients. I ignored them and again started a discussion with my clients for my new project.

Again the same girl called from behind, saying sorry for her act. I turned to see her face which was familiar to my Jhaanu's voice. I held her arm when she was going to fall then I noiced it was Jhaanu. She was shocked to see me and immediately cut her words on seeing me.

I held her waist tightly but she pushed my hands and stood properly.

Mixed motion in my heart started after hearing her sweet voice.

No words between us for a few minutes. Suddenly, one girl hugged me from the back. I turned to see her.

It's Shravani..... Shravs, my cousin.

When I turned back to see Jhanu, she was not there. I ran like a manic in the search of Jhaanu as I missed her. I felt so disappointed,

"Are you searching for anyone?"Shravs asked me.

I just smiled at her. I seated in the car and leaned on the passenger seat. we started home in the car. My memories flashed before me as I closed my eyes. Still I am remembered her almond shaped eyes, her sweet voice and her soft lips...

Almost 8 years back

******Jhanavi pov*****

The alarm started ringing. It was morning at 5 am. Poornima was calling me to wake me early as it is my first of college.Poornima is my elder sister almost 2 years old. But she is always friendly with me.

Yesterday, I was tensed thinking about a college, coeducation, ragging.....

I heard from many people that in engineering college, ragging will be there. We should be careful...

As from childhood to 2, I studied in

Missionary school which was completely girl school...

So, I didn't get sleep last night.

Again my sis started calling Janu to wake up...

At last, I wake up and completed my morning chores. I went to dining to complete breakfast and took blessings of a nanny ( grandmother).

I lost my parents when was studying in 3rd grade. My nanny took care of us...

I love and respect her...

My cousin(Bava) paternal aunt son and bestie Vinay came to drop me at college as he was also studying in the same college.

He was studying in 3rd year (computer science) which means he is my super senior.

On the way to the college, he was supporting me as I was tense.

All of sudden, I told him to stop the bike. He turned quizzically what was wrong with me.

I said." it was the first day of college and I forgot to go to Temple."

" In college, we have a small Temple. You can go there". He said.

I nodded my head and went to college. I was surprised to see the college as it was big with different blocks.

He showed me the temple by directing with his finger. He told me to wait after coming out of the temple as he has to park the bike and it was far from the temple.

I came out of the temple and waiting for Vinay. Someone was calling from far with the name of the color.

Hey, yellow color dress girl comes here.

First I didn't understand what he was talking but again he repeated the same words...

Then I noticed my dress color. I was in a yellow color dress...

Slowly I walked towards them.

There are 3 boys and 2 girls. I thought they were a gang.

I stood there silently...

Among one boy asked me," Don't you have a manner ?".

I just glare towards him.

He was handsome but rude. I just kept quiet as I don't know what reply I have to give......

Then he again started to ask, "don't you wish elders?".

Then I said, "I will".

Then why are you not wishing us...

I didn't give any reply.

We are senior to you and you have to wish us.

Then I said" Good morning...".

He asked my name and I replied to him

He extended his hand and told his name...

Abhiram Varma.....

Meanwhile, Vinay came towards us and introduce me as his relative( Mama's daughter)...

I got relief on seeing Vinay.

***Jhanavi's pov******

Vinay introduced Abhiram as his best friend from 2.

He also introduced other people standing with their names Krishna, Akash, Vallika, and Madhuri.

I said, Hi and remained silent.

Vinay told me, "All of them are from the same group that means civil engineering department and there are my super seniors (3rd year)".

Abhiram extended his hand and said, "Welcome to our college".

I didn't like the way he spoke to me earlier. So I remained calm with no response.

I asked Vinay to come to my class as it was the first day of college.

And Vinay started walking along with me towards my classroom.

I asked him, "Why you are doing friendship to him".

Vinay was stopped for a second and looked differently at me.....

He asked me," whom you are talking about?"

That guy Abhiram Varma.

"Ohhhh Janu..., He is a very nice guy and...

I cut off his words in the middle and asked him. He was ragging me Vinay and you are giving a compliment to him...

Janu please listen to me, he is a very good guy and my bestie.

I heard a voice behind me...

"Don't judge a book by its cover Jhanu..."

I turned back and saw it was that idiot Abhiram.

I was dumbfounded on seeing him.

I thought whether he heard our conservation.

Again he started speaking with me, Jhanu I was just teasing you don't think wrong about me.

Then I replied to him, "Don't call me Jhanu. My name is Jhanavi. Only my friends call me Jhanu. So we are not friends."

Abhiram arched his eyebrow and asked me," We are not friends!"

I said, "No".

I don't like you and you are just my super senior that's it.

"So you accept me as your super senior then write this record and submit within 5 days," said Abhi to me.

I stared angrily towards Vinay...

I said, "I don't write any record to you Abhiram"

Vinay stopped our fight in the middle.

"Jhanuuu...., Abhi and you are bestie. So, I don't want any misunderstanding between you both.

You go to class first, we can talk about it later.

Wait for me at parking after class" Vinay said

I went into the classroom.

I sat on the second bench. One girl joined beside me and introduced herself as Swomya.

We had a little chat and our class started immediately.

****Vinay POV

I don't know what happened between Jhanu and Abhi. But I have to solve their misunderstanding.

I went to Abhi and asked," What happened between them".

He explained everything in detail.

I said to him," Jhanu was tensed from yesterday about ragging and coeducation".

"Abhi please forgive her. " I asked him.

He hugged me and said I accepted her as my friend. Don't worry about that matter....leave it yaar?

"Never apologize to me. We are friends and there will be no sorry and thank you between friends", said Abhi.

I nodded and gave a big smile.

I said to him, to take care of her as my group is computer science and our classroom was in another block.

Abhi said, " I will take care, meet you after class".
