Destined to Love

Wow this place is so beautiful Lola exclaimed in her mind. She couldn't believe that she gets to work here for 6 months. Lola needed the money for her god mother's surgery. The fee was 150,000. The pay for working at this mansion was 27,000 per month she knew working here would require a lot of energy and so on but for her god mother's sake she had to put in more effort. Besides work was like her middle name.

Lola followed behind the house keeper with the other newly employed servants. She couldn't help but marvel at all beautiful and elegant decoration in the mansion. This place literally screamed the word RICH!!!!!!!!!!!!! From the grand stairs case to the paintings hanged on the wall.

Passing the interview wasn't easy but Lola luckily passed through. They were strict about the type of staff they employed. She was determined to save her god mother who had treated her like her old child ever since she was young. She had sacrificed a lot to make sure Lola and Selena could finish high school unfortunately she couldn't sponsor their college education. Now she was down with diabetes and the doctors recommended surgery.

The William's mansion really lived up to their status of one of the richest and most powerful families in country A.

The new servants were taken to the courtyard. Sitting in the courtyard was the William's family first missus. The daughter in-law of the old master she was his eldest son's most beloved. After the death of her husband the old master treated her well. He thought of it as his payment to her. He blamed his self for his son's death having pressurizing him to join the army where he later died. Beside her sat her daughter. She had only two children boy and a girl. The first missus did not look happy. She kept staring at the new servants as if she wanted to see through them.

"Mom" her daughter Tracey called her attention. She swept her gaze over the new servants present before turning to the housekeeper to say "you will need to pick a servant out of this batch present to work at my son's villa. The last two just quit"

"Yes First missus". The house keeper replied

Tracey looked at the new servants. She just came back from country H and she would need a new personal maid. She had heard that they would be hiring new maids and decided to choose from them. She waved her hand slightly as she announced "I will be picking my personal maid from among you"

She then directed her gaze towards where Lola was standing then pointed in accordance "You"

Lola stepped forward with her heart thumping wildly and asked "Me" looking at Tracey she didn't seem like someone who can be easily served or satisfied. The young lady had a bratty aura around her.

"Not you the girl beside you" Tracey replied

"Yes young miss" Rebecca the maid she pointed at replied

"Follow me, from today you are going to be my personal maid you will need to be with me at all times. Do you have any problem with that?"

"No young miss" Rebecca replied with her head down

Tracey turned around leaving the courtyard to head back to her room while Rebecca followed behind her closely.

To be honest everyone of the new servants excluding Lola knew someone from the old set of servant. Who helped them and told them inside information on the members of the family. Call it connection but they already had an idea what to expect. It was clear that the person would have explained the characters of the members of the family. Although the old master was not just served by any one. Only the servants who had a minimum of 5 years service in the William's family were allowed to serve him.

Most of them were all doing well who wouldn't when their annual salary was enough to take care of 2 familles annually .

Everyone of the new servants knew what to look out for when serving the members of the family . That was excluding Lola she only got the information from a senior of Selena who was an old servant with 4 years service in the William's family. She later recommended her before she could go for the interview. Selena was meant to be the one to take the job but they both came to a decision that Lola should go and work there since the job required that she stay in the building premises

The first missus also left after her daughter leaving the housekeeper with the task of choosing a maid for her son and assigning work to the others.

The house keeper turned around and asked "Is there any one that would like to volunteer to work at the Young master's villa"

"The salary will be twice the one you are payed here"

Lola immediately calculated in her head if she volunteered and was chosen she only had to work for. Three months .This was a fantastic opportunity. But she wasn't sure where it was located at still she couldn't leave such a golden opportunity

Lola turned her head around to see if any one would volunteer but to her surprise and every one's expectations including the house keeper. No one was Willing to volunteer .

Lola thought in her mind maybe there's some sort of bonus or benefit for working at the William's mansion which the Young master does not give at his villa

She reasoned that she didn't really need any bonus. She was only 19 years old she still had a lot of things to do . There was no way she was going to spend 4 or 5 years waiting for a bonus. She initially had allocated half a year to work and earn the money. but now she wasn't going to miss the opportunity to work half the initial period. at the same rate of payment.

She quickly raised her hand and said "I would like to volunteer to work at the Young master's villa " opportunity comes only once she wasn't about to watch this one slip through her fingers.

The other maids were overcome with a sense of relief as long as someone was Willing they wouldn't have to cast lots or pick randomly. They had all heard about how bad his temper was no one wished to work for him. It was said he tortured any maid who made a mistake . Since she was Willing let her do it.

The housekeeper looked at her in shock for a moment before regaining his composure and saying "Are you sure about it once you sign the contract there is no backing out" He sneered in his heart yet another girl who thinks she can climb the Young master bed because of her pretty face by acting to be his maid. She could only blame herself when the time came. The maids also snigerred secretly .They had the same thoughts as the house keeper. They had heard tales from their seniors on how the Young master dealt with women who tried to seduce him.

Lola fought back the urge to roll her eyes at the house keeper . Did he really think she would take such a drastic decision without considering it. Well he was right she didn't consider it much. Any ways she still replied politely. " Yes I'm sure of my decision "

"All right then you will all head to the servants residents for new staffs I'llcome around later to explain your assignments and duties. Miss Lola you are to change back to your personal clothes. Someone will be sent to call you when you need to meet the first Missus "

"Do you all understand "

"yes" they all replied in unsion

The housekeeper then put someone in charge to lead them to their rooms. Lola entered the room that was meant to be hers she quickly showered and changed into a cream gown. The gown was simple with long sleeves. She scrolled through her phone there was a message from Selena telling her to call her when she was free. Tieing her hair up in a messy bun she texted Selena that she was okay . She was somewhat proud of her long hair. She decided that she would call Selena when she arrived at the young master's villa. She and Selena were almost like twins inseparable.

Lola sat on the sofa in the room looking at the family account balance. There was only 17,560.36 in the account. The hospital had demanded for a fee of 20,000 before she could be admitted into the hospital. The operation had to be done in less than four months time. They would need to operate or it would grow out of hand and there would be only one result. She had to find out how she could get the remaining 3,000. Her initial plan was to get a loan from a bank 155,000 once she got the job. She felt that if the bank could confirm her contract maybe she could get a salary loan.

She planned to do that once she was settled

After resting on the sofa for sometime a knock was heard on the door. She quickly carried her bags and belongings to the door after rolling up her hair she had tied in a ponytail. When she opened the door she saw a lady probably one of the old servants

"I am Pat the first missus personal maid. I was told to bring you along" she said in a casual tone

"Thank you I'm Lola we can go now" Lola said

Truth being told she was nervous and expectant for things to not work out.

In the first missus suite in the villa

Everything here gave a sense of a warm home from the pillow to the embroidery to the table cloth. Well this showed the first missus was a very homey person. A good sign she thought.

When she entered she saw the first missus sitting on a rocking chair which was made from top quality wood it was even exquisitely carved. Even though she had no experience with wood she could tell that it was top notch.

The housekeeper first spoke "madam this is the only person who volunteered to work in the young master's villa"

The first missus turned her attention back to Lola and looked at her as if sizing her up

"Well you must have a lot of courage to accept this job, even I myself know that my son is hard to serve and has a bad temper. I would like to tell you that if you have any bad intentions you had better gotten rid of them. As you requested the contract is to last for 3 months. Is there any problem with this "

"No first missus" Lola replied while trying her best to clamp down on her excitement

"Well if that is the case the driver will take you to the villa it's about 3 hours drive from here" The first missus said before dismissing her

Lola could no longer contain her happiness. She burst into laughter once she was inside the car in the passenger's seat. The driver beside her looked at her suspiciously before asking.

"Are you alright Miss"

"Yes sure why won't I be alright"

..You are going to work at the evil young master's villa of course you should not be alright...

The driver was shocked he had not met anyone who was so anxious about working for the young master. Well ignorance they say is bliss.

But Lola thought differently how bad, can his temper be. Besides I only have Appear before him once in a blue moon. He won't even usually be at home. I don't even need to clean the house in order words I'm his personal maid. I already fished as much information about him which I could gather from the old servants. He was once in the army and had quite a high rank at the age of 20 which was very rare. He later withdrew when he was 23 years old according to the order of the old master to take up the family business. He's presently 27. He's rarely at home at most two times a week. How bad can it be Lola thought as the car got nearer to her destination and hope for survival.

But she forgot not to underestimate anyone if his own mother knew how difficult he was what was she going to do.

..............................................................................When they arrived at the young master's villa the driver immediately dropped Lola and her luggage off before driving off without giving Lola the chance to say goodbye.

"What's so scary about this young master" Lola mumbled to herself his house was beautiful.

Her eyes roamed about the surroundings. She couldn't believe they actually called this a villa to Lola this could actually pass for an estate of its own. Lola sighed inwardly the rich really knew how to spend their money. Just as Lola looked to the entrance the housekeeper came out walking to her.

"Good afternoon" Lola greeted

"Hello" the house keeper replied

"Follow me I'll take you to your room where you will drop off your bags then I'll take you round the villa"

"Ok sir" Lola replied not sure how to refer to him. He should be about 20 years older than her

With him taking the lead they arrived at her room on the ground floor

This is nice Lola thought at least I don't have to climb the stairs all the time. She dropped her bag. The house keeper showed her an electronic device. He explained that it was connected to the young master's room and study it had the function of a bell so that she would know when she was needed by the young master. He showed her around the ground floor from the kitchen to the living room, dining hall and other places. He then took her to the first floor explaining that the bedrooms there were all unused but were cleaned daily by the other servants. He again led her to the second floor pointing out the young master's room and study. He also took her to the last floor pointing out the room at the end of the corridor explaining to her that it was a dark room used as a cell. Why would he need a cell? Lola wondered though she didn't dare voice it out loud

He told her the young master was rarely ever at home as he was always away on business trips but she had to clean his room daily. As no one knew when their master would be back. She had to make sure there was no dirt anywhere as the young master was a neat freak apart from that the other servants would clean other parts of the house. She didn't need to cook she was only required to serve the dishes and wait behind until he was done with eating. To put it in a simpler form she only needed to be present when ever she was needed.

"That's all for now. I'll introduce you to the other servants" the house keeper said before pausing and added "you need to know that the young master has a bad temper so try not to get on his bad book"

Lola smiled and replied "Thank you sir I'm sure to listen to your advice"

The housekeeper called out the other maids and servants then he introduced Lola "This is Miss Lola she will be working as the personal maid of the young master"

"Hello my name is Lola I'm new here so please take care of me"

"HELLO" they all said in unison

When they left the housekeeper told her that she could move around and get used to the environment.

As she passed by the garden she noticed someone using a spray to water the plants. It was him that same guy that caught her attention earlier on she was mesmerized by his blue eyes. He wasn't wearing a shirt and there were water droplets on his chest.

He waved at her "hi" he said while turning of the water spray.

Lola immediately snapped out of her reverie. She was so ashamed she was caught checking out a guy. Shit she almost drooled

Lola walked towards him "hey"

"Lola right my name is Omar" he said stretching out his hand for a hand shake.

"Hi Omar" Lola said while shaking hands with him.

"You do know it's inappropriate to stare at guys the way you just did" Omar said while smirking evilly

"Then why do you go around without wearing a shirt" Lola blurted out

"Ok I'm sorry, well to tell you the truth everyone is pretty much curious about you" Omar said

"And why is that...."

"Cause the last two personal maids couldn't bear it and had to withdraw ended up paying for breaching of the contract and that my dear is no small money"

"He he..... Nah that's not going to happen to me"

"Let's hope so I'm telling you because you seem nice" Omar replied

"Seem? Hey I'm totally nice" Lola replied with a smile

"That was not modest of you..... Oh I forgot you aren't modest to begin with" Omar said jokingly reminding her of the incident just now.

"I was only joking" Lola said to defend herself while blushing furiously.

"Ok..... Um are you going to be staying at the villa or......"Omar asked while scratching his head awkwardly

"Yeah I'm going to be staying in the villa and I think I just made my first friend so what do you say friends" Lola asked while thinking so you can get nervous I'm going to make sure you blush more than I just did

"Yeah friends oh yeah forgot to tell you I'm the gardener" Omar said

"Ok I do have a soft spot for pretty boys who take care of flowers" Lola said teasingly making Omar's face red

"Bye catch you later" Lola said whilst laughing at Omar's face before walking away to continue her tour

Omar stood staring at her retreating back view. Smiling foolishly to his self before turning on the water spray to continue his work

Lola woke up it was Tuesday just 10 days after she started working here on Sunday. It was also her day off. she still wasn't used to waking up in such a beautiful room it was totally different from any one she had seen and it was just a maid room!!

She stood up from the bed and went to wash up. She had decide to go to the bank to discuss the loan. She had to finish up her job of cleaning the Young master room and private study. She intended meet Selena at home when she came back from the bank so they could get their mother admitted. But first she had to tell Omar and make him cover up for her. She had some friends among the servants but her relationship with Omar was the closest.They were usually teased by the maids who called them a couple.

She stepped out and went to the garden. She already knew Omar's working schedule and knew where to find him at different times. She saw him pulling out the weeds whilst squatting.

"Hi Omar" she shouted causing him to turn around abruptly to see her

what he saw stunned him. She was standing her back to the sun waving her hand and giving a sweet smile he hair was loose which was rare. She couldn't be described as a godess of beauty but she had a nice shape and had a pretty face with cute brown eyes. Her two dimples were so cute. He was lost in his thoughts that he almost didn't reply her

"Hey baby girl" he said snapping out of it

"So I need a favour" Lola said while explaining to Omar about her godmother surgery fee and others

"So i need you to cover up for me if amy one asks for me just make up an excuse I promise not to take more than 4 hours"

"You actually don't need to go to the bank for a loan. At least that is one advantage of working here there's an exclusive staff loan You just have to go apply for it in their office. And no one said you aren't allowed to leave the villa on your day off"

"Hehe so I'll have to trobule you to tell me the address"

"Sure Its at the scarlet floor plaza 6th floor" Omar said

"Ok thanks so much. I'll call you when I'm leaving "Lola said hurrying inside the house.

Omar looked at her retreating back and felt guilty he should had told her that the Young master had to agree before the loan could be approved. And he rarely did unless you had good reasons. Not just good reasons perfect reasons

Immediately she entered inside she tied her hair up in a pony tail she was already wearing one of the gown she owns.

She decided to check the young masters library remembering she saw a book she was interested in.

She went to the desk in the room and looked closely at it. She was just going to put her things away when a picture in it's frame caught her eye. She hadn't seen what her master looked like so she was rather curious. She picked it up from the table she saw a cold looking man He had defined cheekbones,a concrete jaw and hawkish nose. But what attracted her was his eyes like a whirlpool almost like she could drown into them and stay there for ever. He had a light smile on his face a lady who should be around my age was hugging his neck they looked like a couple . When she came back to reality the picture almost dropped from her hand luckily she caught it after placing it safely she stepped back and put her hand on her chest

"That was a close one.." she said to her self stepping out of the study she locked the door it was almost noon.

To be honest working here was quite nice even her room was beautiful though not as nice as the other guest rooms.

when she had just packed her hair into a pony tail her phone rang

She checked the caller is before pickingit up

it was Selena

phone conversation

Lola: hello sis

Selena: Hey I wanted to check If your still coming home by the way Andrey is also coming to meet up. He said you haven't contacted him since 4 days ago

Lola: ohhh I totally forgot him of course I'm coming

Selena: ok bye take care love you

phone call ends

Lola put on a loose top and a jeans trouser

she was thinking of Andrey he was like a brother to her and Selena always helping in any way he could . He took care of her and helped her like Omar that's why she felt free with him.

she gave Omar a call after which she left the villaLola took the bus to the subway station then took a train to the scarlet flames plaza. When she got there it was already 30 minutes past 12. She stood outside the office building for sometime during which she said a short prayer for success before she walked into the building taking the lift to the 6th floor.

When she came out from the lift she saw a receptionist desk and walked up to the receptionist

She greeted her "Hello miss please may I ask if I'm on the right floor I'm looking for the staff welfare office for the William's family I was told it was on the sixth floor"

"Oh hi yes you are on the right floor , may I ask what you want "the receptionist greeted her warmly

"Um actually I want to apply for a staff loan" Lola replied

"Ok so you can go down the corridor 4th door on your left" the receptionist directed her

"Thanks Miss" Lola said

"It's no bother by the way my name is Lily" the receptionist said

"My name is Lola"Lola replied

"Ok bye Lola and goodluck in getting the loan "the receptionist said

When Lola turned back to walk towards the corridor Lily sighed

~such a nice girl why does she have to work in the house of a monster like the young master ~ Lily thought in her mind

Lola knocked on the door of the office instructed by Lily

She heard a warm friendly voice say come in

Now that strange how come that voice sounds warm and young unlike how Omar described him to be old and rude
