Elena's POV

I got into the pack house and I was met with a fleet of cars parked all around. Was there an event going on? I should be aware of this as I was Alpha North's mate.

The guards who usually bow to greet me whenever I stood before them, didn't. I waved the thoughts of disrespect as something suspicious was happening.

I got to Alpha North's chambers but he wasn't in. I was wondering where he could have been when I saw a maid passing by the corridor.

"Mabel, do you know where the Alpha might be?" I asked. She hesitated before answering,

"Yes, he should be down at the hall, aren't you aware?"

"At the hall?" I frowned. "I'm not aware of that. What's happening there?" I asked but she bowed.

"I beg to take my leave" she said and I nodded, excusing her.

I brushed off the thought of something bad happening. I was excited to let my mate know I'm back with great news. Maybe esteemed guests arrived for our mating ceremony happening soon. I knew he would be just as happy as I was with the news.

I left his chambers, stopping at mine to adjust my hair and dress. If I was right, he would be with guests and I need to look presentable. I was his soon to be Luna. Afterwards, I left for the hall immediately. The large doors of the hall were already open and I stepped in, greeted by scornful looks from the guests scattered around.

I could not understand why. My heart dropped, shocked at the sight in front of me as I looked to the side. On the makeshift altar, Alpha North stood beside the daughter of one of the council members, Lord Gryphon with their hands locked on each other's. She had a smug on her face as I approached.

"Elena, so you finally came, took you long enough" he said with a hateful look etched on his face.

"What do you mean, my love?" I asked. My heart was racing and my mind was whispering so many possibilities but I didn't like them. I didn't want to believe what was happening. Alpha North ignored my question as he started addressing the crowd.

"We are gathered here today, for me to name Leila here as my Luna" he started, but I couldn't help but interrupt him.

"No" I rushed forward but before I could get to the altar, two guards blocked my path. "I am your mate. She cannot be your Luna. I am" I said, tears threatening to leave my eyes.

Still he ignored me and continued.

"Leila, here has been chosen to be my Luna. She has all the qualities a Luna possesses" he said.

"I am your mate!" I yelled, my tears dropping. I knew I should not yell. He was the Alpha and yelling was seen as disrespect but I could not help it.

His eyes came on me, filled with hatred. "It is foolish of you to think I will make you, a wolfless omega, my mate" he said.

"I..." I bit my tongue but continued. "I do" I lied

"Show us your wolf" He said, looking around. "I'm sure everyone is eager to see"

My heart started beating twice as fast as it was before, I couldn't believe my secret got out like this. I trusted Alpha North with it. He said it was okay so what changed? What happened? I couldn't do anything. I couldn't move because I knew I didn't have a wolf.

"Judging by her reluctance, she doesn't have a wolf. She cannot rule this pack as a wolfless Luna. Leila here not only does she have a wolf but she is strong and can help fight in battle"

I could not believe it was my mate, Alpha North saying this. The very man that promised to stand by me even if the council refused our union. He told me I had nothing to worry about. He promised me!

"I want a Luna who is strong enough to rule by my side," he continued. "Therefore, I, Alpha North, Alpha of Ravens Pack, hereby reject you, Elena Black, daughter of Gabe Black, as my mate" he said, his gaze staring into my soul.

My heart shattered. My entire body ached from within. It felt like a spear went through my heart. I was to accept his rejection to feel better but I could not. How could he say this? How could he do this to me? I thought he loved me? I won't accept his rejection. Alpha North would never do this.

I held my chest, trying my best to ease the pain "We are fated mates. We are to remain together. You promised-" I could not finish. I fell to my knees, the pain only increasing as I resisted.

I shook my head. "You can't do this Alpha North, please" I begged

"Accept the rejection, Elena, we can't work anymore. You won't stop feeling the pain until you accept my rejection." He said, not caring if I was in pain or not. Not caring if his words hurt me or not.

I couldn't accept his rejection despite the pain I was feeling deep within my chest. I just couldn't. I was carrying his child.

"Accept the rejection, now!" he roared, his voice louder than before.

"I can't do it. I'm pregnant" I said. I couldn't help but notice the shocked expression on everyone's face, a displeased expression etched on Liela's face as I spoke but I didn't care about that. All I cared about was what Alpha North felt but his expression remained the same; uncaring and indifferent.

"Accept the rejection now or be banished from this pack with your child" he said

I couldn't believe it was Alpha North who was saying all these things to me. Where did his love go? Did he never love me? In front of everyone, he speaks like he never told me how much he wanted to be with me. Even his own child, he rejects too? I couldn't let my child suffer because of me, I had to accept his rejection.

"I, Elena Black, daughter of Gabe Black, accept your rejection" I said, sitting on the floor as the tears rolled down my eyes. The physical pain was no longer there but I was broken

I couldn't believe something like this would happen. I thought I would never have a mate of my own. I thought I would be alone in this world but Alpha North came into my life and made me believe I could have a mate even though I was wolfless and promised me I would never be alone.

I always doubted myself and he told me he loved me the way I was and I was strong in his eyes. But now I believed it was all a lie. How could he betray me like this? I trusted him with everything in me and he rejected me before the pack.

One of the council members, Lord Atlas, stood up and spoke. "If she isn't your mate and Luna anymore, what use is she to the pack, Alpha?" he said

Another Lord among the council, Lord Liam, stood and spoke also. "She carries your child, Alpha North. What should we do with her?" he said

Another Lord spoke, one I don't recall his name. "She should be banished from this Pack" he said, looking at me with disgust.

I looked at him with horror in my face. I could not be banished. I had nowhere to go.

"I have heard all which you have said" he said, Leila tugged at his arms. "I need a slave and I think she would be perfect for the job" Leila said with a grin at me.

My eyes widened, glancing at Alpha North who had no expression on his face.

A slave? I could not be a slave. "No, I don't want that," I said, shaking my head.

"From today, I, Alpha North, declare Elena Black, daughter of Gabe Black, as a slave to my mate and Luna, Leila." he announced.

Elena's POV

I couldn't believe what Alpha North had just announced. Why would he approve that? I can't be a slave to Liela, no. This can not happen.

"I will not be a slave to her. North, you promised me. You can't do this to me. Remember you loved me, despite everything I told you about me. You said you will stand by me. What changed?"

He ignored everything I said and turned to speak to the head of the council, Lord Gryphon

"Begin the ceremony" he instructed the officiator.

Lord Gryphon nodded and quickly began making the little preparations left to begin. I was ignored as though I was not there. Alpha North promised me. He told me this would never happen.

"I don't care about strength, Elena. My strength will cover both of us" his words came to the back of my mind.

I still remembered his words clearly. He can't get married to her. I'm his true mate, why is he doing this to me, I can't let any of this happen.

"Alpha, my love, you can't do this. Please rethink, this wedding shouldn't and cannot happen. She isn't your true mate, I am." I said tears rolling down my cheeks.

Leila left the hold of Alpha North and matched towards me, her face filled with rage and anger. I wasn't given a chance to alter a single word when she gave me a slap across the face. It was so unexpected that I fell to the ground landing on my butt, hitting the black ceramic tiles.

My face aches from the slap, with my hand over my cheek, I turned to look at Alpha North but his face remained expressionless, like he never once loved or cared for me. Like he was not the same man who promised me the world!

I was about speaking, when I was interrupted by Alpha North.

"Lock her up in the dungeons, with no food or water until I say so" he commanded, telling the guards.

They quickly moved from where they stood beside the altar and marched towards me grabbing me by the arm.

"No... you can't do this to me. Remember your promises, No!!" I screamed as I was pulled out of the hall.

I struggled. I could not let them get married. "Alpha North! Alpha North!" I shouted, my voice echoing throughout the walls

I knew no one would save me, I had no one. I was all alone in this world again. The guards did not mind how they held me. The smell of rusted iron, wey wound and decay was all over the place as we stepped in. I could not stop the tears from flowing. I could not stop the pain I felt in my heart.

The guards led me to the last cell at the end of the dungeon. As the door opened, I knew I could not go in there. "Please, you cannot do this to me. Please help me" I pleaded but I was shoved into the cell, falling to the ground and bruising my palms.

I hissed in pain and the sound of the doors shutting, snapped me out of it. "Please, don't lock me in here" I pleaded holding the bars of the cell but they locked me in and left with no remorse.

When I heard the main door close, I knew they were not going to help me. I stumbled back my situation dawning on me. I never for once thought that a day like this would come. Where I would be rejected, turned into a slave and thrown into dungeons, all because I have no wolf.

Why did the moon goddess bring him to me when she knew he would betray me. He never loved me. He lied to me. He used me.

Now I'm forced to be a slave to someone who stole my rightful place and my mate.

I sat there on the floor, the darkness filling my soul. I cried my eyes out. I wanted this to not be true. I wanted this to be a dream but I knew it was real.

This was never the way I expected to break the news of our baby to him. I dozed off hours later but woke up soon after feeling dizzy and having headaches. The cell was cold and the darkness did nothing to make me feel better. I hugged my legs as fresh tears threatened to escape my eyes.

I heard footsteps approaching and a smile appeared on my face. Quickly, I got up, wiping my face. I knew Alpha North would not do that. He loved me. He came for me. Even when the person stood before me, I could not see who it was due to the darkness.

"Open the gate" I heard Liela say, her voice hoarse as she spoke.

She got into the room and spoke. "Has the darkness told you there was no way out of this?"

I shook my head. I still expected Alpha North to come. I looked over, trying to strain my eyes to see. Leila scoffed. "You pitiful human" she cursed.

"I am not a human" I defended, sniffling.

"You are wolfless. You are no different from a human" she said.

"I-" a slap landed across my cheeks, sending me a few steps back and on the floor, shutting me up.

"Get up!" She commanded, gesturing with her index finger.

I could not stand. "You forget one thing, Elena. I am your master and you are my slave. You only speak when I ask you to" Leila said.

"Make her stand" she commanded the guards that came with her.

The men got me to my feet and without thinking, I Iaunched towards her, ready to fight to get free. Before I could touch her, another slap sent me stumbling back.

"Hold her, you fools" she said to the guards as the next second, I was held by the arm unable to move.

"You stole him from me. You stole my beloved from me. That should have been me, standing at that altar with him" I said, tears rolling down my eyes.

Another slap met my face. "Now you listen up, slave. You are under me so you should act like one. As your master, you don't try anything foolish with me because I will make you bend" she said holding my cheeks tight

"You'll pay for this I promise you" I said, struggling with the guards.

She laughed, "How then slave, how would you accomplish that when you're wolfless. You're just as weak as the humans."

I knew I could not fight her. She was strong. "I will not punish you for your stupid behavior because you are going through grief. Just the sight of you feeling heartbroken will do for now" Leila said.

"Take her to the maids. Change her clothes" she commanded then turned to me. "Slave, once changed, get me a glass of wine in the Alpha's chamber. You have five minutes. Anymore than that and I will break a bone and each time you disobey me, that would be your punishment" with that she turned around and left.

Elena's POV

The two guards led me out of the dungeons, moving towards the maid quarters. The tears never seized from my face. I wanted to fight but I was too tired. I was an ordinary omega. I would not be able to win this fight even if I wanted to.

They got to the maid quarters and threw me to the ground and left. I looked around before standing up to see the maids whispering to themselves but to my hearing.

"Look at her now, reduced to us, so weak like the humans. She thought she would be the Luna of this pack, wolfless" one maid said

I could say nothing to that as I walked to the wardrobe and another maid spoke.

"At least we are maids, but we are far better than her, we all have wolves." she said, laughing.

I grabbed one of the maids uniform but before I could take it off the line, a maid yanked it out of my hand. "How dare you touch my clothes?" she yelled.

"Leila asked me to-"

"This is yours" another maid said behind me, tossing a sack on the ground.

"But-"

"Oh don't argue with me. If you wish to, speak to the Luna" the maid sneered at me.

I stared at the sack in shock. "You need to hurry or you might lose your life soon" one maid said and they laughed, leaving the room.

Even though I didn't want to, I picked up tht sack and hurried into the bathroom to change locking the door behind me. I couldn't believe I've been lowered to a maid. I was just an omega but now I was a slave.

I could not freshen up, noting I only had five minutes and I was already late. I wore the dress looking at myself in the mirror. A drop of tears escaped my eyelids staring at my reflection. I stepped out of the room when a maid came towards me.

"Hey! Slave, don't look at me that way" she said as I stared at her in anger.

I was not a slave and I could never be. "Whatever issues you have, go to the Luna" she sighed then continued. "Luna Liela requested a drink and has asked you to bring it to her, hurry up and go give it to her, you don't want to keep her waiting" she said.

She left almost immediately, not telling me what type of wine she wanted. I opened the refrigerator in the kitchen and picked out the red wine, poured some into an wine glass and places it on a white tray.

I walked to the Alpha's chambers shaking. I was weak and from crying so much, my body needed the rest but could I say that to them? I knocked twice and was ushered in with the sound of Liela's voice. I took a short breath before I opened the door and stepped in.

I got in looking around to see if I could find Alpha North, but he wasn't in.

"Luna Liela, your wine" I said, bowing my head. I hated doing this but if I didn't, I feared what she would do to me.

She stood from where she sat, taking the glass of wine. Taking one look at it,she dropped it back on the tray I was holding.

"This is not the wine I requested, you slave," she said, looking at me with hatred and disgust.

"You didn't really specify the one you wanted" I said.

"Are you speaking to my Luna in that manner, have you lost it?" Alpha North questioned.

He stepped into the room, his aura filling the room. He stood beside Leila, glancing at the wine on the tray.

"But I was saying the truth, she didn't really say anything on the one she wanted" I said

"You have the guts to talk to me in such a manner, Guards!" he commanded, the guards stepping into the room, bowing before Alpha North spoke.

"Give her fifteen lashes with the silver chains" he instructed

The guards walked towards me as I quickly fell on my knees trying to plead with him. Silver chains were deadly to wolves. They were used as torture materials for servants and slaves. Unlike other whips which would not be able to inflict sufficient pain on wolves, the silver chains would do worse and make it hard for them to heal themselves. If that was used on me, I doubted I would be able to make it.

"I'm sorry, Alpha, I'll go get the right drink for her" I pleaded.

"Don't worry, my love. She should just go get another one" Leila said and turned to me. "Get out and get my drink!"

I quickly got to my feet, heading out with the wine and tray when Liela spoke

"Wait," she said

The moment I turned around, she grabbed the drink and poured it all over my face. My mouth open, shocked at what just happened.

"Now you can go, you have just two minutes to get my wine" she said

I left the room, the wine dripping from my face. I got to the kitchen, getting a towel to dry my face with. I got the wine, and I hurriedly back to the Alpha chambers. I didn't knock and stepped in and was met with Alpha North half naked on the bed with Leila under him.

A moan escaped from Leila's lips, sinking into my mind and I quickly turned around to leave as fresh tears returned to my face. Before I could grab the doorknob, Alpha North spoke

"Don't move" he commanded, freezing me to the spot.

He got off Liela who looked happy to know I saw them together. Alpha North grabbed his clothes, and slowly putt them on before turning to Liela. "Leave us" he instructed.

Leila's smile disappeared as she glanced at me then returned it to him. "What do you mean?" she asked.

Alpha North said nothing to her so she adjusted her dress and walked out of the room, glaring at me as she did so. I wanted to leave so I could cry and get rid of this pain in my chest but it was too much.

"I'm sorry" I heard him say.
