Chapter 1 The unwanted Tribute.

Princess Isadora had always been a sheltered and naive young woman. Growing up in the palace, she had been protected from the harsh realities of the world, and had always believed in the power of love. However, fate had other plans for her.

Isadora was summoned to her mother's chambers. The Queen sat on her throne, surrounded by her advisors and the kingdom's most esteemed officials. Isadora curtsied before her mother and waited patiently for her instructions.

"Isadora," the Queen began, "As you know, we are bound by an ancient treaty with the neighboring kingdom of Eldrid. The treaty requires that every decade, we send a tribute to their kingdom. This tribute must be a woman, of royal blood, who is to be married to their king."

Isadora's heart skipped a beat. She had heard rumors of the Eldrid kingdom, of its brutal ruler, King Devon, and of the curse that plagued their land. According to legend, King Devon had been known to be an heartless demon, and he had become the most feared man in all the land.

"But Mother," Isadora protested, "I cannot marry a man who is a monster. I cannot be bound to a life of misery and unhappiness." "You have no choice in the matter, Isadora," the Queen replied sternly. "It is our duty to uphold the treaty, and you are the only suitable candidate for the tribute. You will leave for Eldrid tomorrow."

Isadora's heart sank as she realized the gravity of the situation. She would be forced to leave behind her family, her home, and everything she had ever known. She would be married to a man who was rumored to be a monster and who could kill her at any time. Isadora ran to her chamber and cried her heart out.

"I don't want to get married to him, that ugly monster. I would rather die than marry him." "Isadora, open your door," her mother screamed. "Mother, I want to be alone," she replied. Without waiting for her reply, her mother barged into her chamber and said, "You must have the audacity to speak in such a manner to me. I have come here not to console you but to tell you that you need to get married tomorrow because your soon-to-be husband can no longer wait," and with that, she left. Isadora knew she only had one option and that was to run away from all this madness.

She took some clothes and tied them like a rope. She then tied one end of the clothing to the window and climbed down slowly. As she climbed down the window, she reached the ground. However, some guards immediately spotted her and held her captive. "Let me go," Isadora shouted.

The guards dragged her back inside the palace, and as soon as they spotted their queen, they threw her on the ground like she was some piece of trash. Queen Sofia was fuming, and before she knew it, she slapped Isadora's cheeks hard. "How dare you try to escape? I should have killed you when I had the chance to. You are a disgrace, a big disgrace to the Ivarion name."

Tears streamed down her eyes. She couldn't believe her own mother could do this to her. "I hate you, Mother," she screamed. "Guards, lock her up in the dungeon and do not release her until tomorrow," her mother ordered.

As the guards dragged her to the dungeon and locked her up with heavy chains, Isadora fell on the cold, hard surface of the ground. She knew that she had to find a way out of this marriage, and she vowed to escape it before it even started.

In the throne room, Alexander stood in front of his parents, feeling a mix of anger and sadness. "Mother, father," he said firmly, "Isadora's punishment is too severe. She doesn't deserve to be locked up in the dungeon." His mother, Queen Sofia, raised an eyebrow. "And who are you to decide what punishment she deserves, Alexander?"

"I am her brother, and I care about her wellbeing," he replied. "I cannot stand by and watch as she suffers." King Rubort scoffed.

"You always were soft-hearted, Alex. But your sister's curse has brought nothing but shame to our family. She must be punished."

Alex clenched his fists. "She is not to blame for her curse! And locking her up will not make things better." As he left the throne room, guards tried to stop him, but he pushed past them. When he reached the dungeon, he found Isadora in a pitiful state.

Her hair was unkempt, her clothes dirty, and she was chained up. "Isadora, it's me, Alex," he said softly. She turned to face him, her eyes filled with tears. "Go away, Alex. I don't want to see you." He took a step closer. "I'm sorry, Isadora. I'm sorry for everything that's happened."

She scoffed. "You're sorry? That's supposed to make everything better?" He looked down at his feet. "No, I know it won't. But I want you to know that I'm on your side. I'll do whatever I can to help you." She wiped away a tear. "It's too late, Alex.

Tomorrow, I'm supposed to marry a monster." He felt his heart sink. "What? How is that even possible?" "Mother and father arranged it," she said bitterly. "They don't care about me. They never have." He shook his head in disbelief. "I won't let that happen. You deserve better than this."

Alex rushed back to the throne room and confronted his parents. "I won't allow my sister to marry a monster!" King Rubort sneered.

"You think you can defy us, Alexander? Lock him up in the dungeon until after the wedding." Alex gritted his teeth as guards dragged him away. He knew he had to find a way out and save Isadora from her terrible fate.

Chapter 2 Nothing like the rumors

The next day, Isadora was released from the dungeon and was taken to her chamber to get prepared as usual a different maid would dress her up cause she never had her own personal maid.

Her hair was tied into a ponytail and she was dressed in her finest gown. Her mother came in her chamber and as her eyes spotted her daughter a wide grin appeared her face.

"My,my how beautiful now she is all ready, guards escort her to where she would take off"the queen ordered. "Where is Alex ?"Isadora asked "None of your business "her mother replied. Guards escort her to where she would take off"the queen ordered.

"Where is Alex ?"Isadora asked again. "None of your business! "her mother replied sharply. Isadora was scarred they had done something to her poor brother. She got in the carriage and was escorted by a convoy of guards to the border of Eldrid.

As she crossed into the kingdom, she was greeted by a barren wasteland, a stark contrast to the lush forests and rolling hills of her own kingdom. The air was thick with the stench of sulfur, and the sky was dark and foreboding.

As she made her way through the rocky terrain, Isadora felt a sense of dread wash over her. She had never been outside of her kingdom before, and she felt completely out of her element. She clung to the carriage doors tightly and prayed that she would survive the journey. But as she rode towards Devon's kingdom, Isadora began to feel a growing sense of dread.

What if Devon was truly as wicked as they said? What if he treated her poorly, or worse yet, if he tried to harm her? After some hours of riding they finally, Isadora arrived at Devon's castle.

The royal guards that escorted her ran away immediately she arrived at his castle, they didn't want to be dead as they where scared to their bones. Isadora had fallen as sleep and didn't know she had reached the place where her life would begin.

"Your highness wake up",someone said and gently tapped her "Ahh,who are you?"she screamed "I am your maid that has been assigned to you please come in"Daisy spoke. Isadora could only nod and follow her. As she entered the palace doors They all stared at her in shock, for Isadora was a vision of beauty unlike any they had ever seen.

Her hair was the color of dark blue, and her amber eyes shone. Her skin was as soft as silk, and her figure was delicate and graceful. Isadora felt uncomfortable under their scrutiny, but tried her best to remain composed.

Isadora waited nervously, her heart racing with fear and uncertainty. She wondered what kind of man King Devon was, whether he would be cruel or kind, whether he would even bother to show his face.

Finally, the door opened, and King Devon entered the room. It was then that Devon made his entrance. The room fell silent as he strode towards her, his face still hidden behind a hooded cloak. Isadora could feel her heart racing.

From the moment she laid eyes on him, Isadora knew that he was different from any man she had ever met.His reputation as a fearsome warrior was well-known throughout the land, and Isadora couldn't help but feel a little intimidated by him. Devon was tall and broad-shouldered, with chiseled features and piercing blue eyes.

He wore a cloak of midnight black, which only added to his air of mystery. Isadora found herself staring at him, unable to look away. Devon stopped in front of her, and with a flourish, he pulled back his hood and Isadora gasped in surprise.

King Devon was not the hideous demon she had expected him to be. Instead, he was tall, broad-shouldered, and devastatingly handsome. His face was chiseled and strong. His jawline was strong, his hair was scarlet red color and his lips were full and inviting, everything about him sounded mysterious.

His eyes twinkled with amusement as he watched her reaction. "Why are you looking at me like that?" he asked, his voice deep and resonant. For a moment, Isadora forgot to breathe. She couldn't believe that the man standing before her was the same one she had heard so many terrible stories about. He looked nothing like a demon.

"I see you are surprised," King Devon said Isadora felt her cheeks flush with embarrassment. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to stare. It's just that...well, I wasn't expecting you to be so handsome." Devon chuckled, and Isadora felt a flutter in her stomach.

She realized with a shock that she was starting to feel something for this man. Was it possible that the curse had been lifted? Take her highness to her room and prepare her for the wedding the king ordered the maids and they did as instructed.

"They were getting married now?"she questioned in her head she thought she would rest and find a way to escape before tomorrow arrived but who knew?

Chapter 3 Kill her

Before Isadora knew it, it was time for the wedding. She had never felt so nervous in her life. Her hands were shaking, and her heart was beating so fast that she thought it might burst out of her chest. Isadora had felt like a doll, dressed in layers of silk and lace, her hair coiled into an elaborate updo and her maids escorted her to the aisle.

As she walked down the aisle, she felt everyone's eyes on her. She felt so exposed and vulnerable. But then she looked up and saw Devon waiting for her at the end of the aisle. He looked so handsome in his wedding attire, and his eyes were fixed on her.

The priest looked fearful, as if he was afraid of the King himself. He faced Devon first and said, "Do you take Isadora Garcia Hazel as your wedded wife?" "I do," Devon said. The priest then faced Isadora and said, "Do you take Devon Garcia Drake as your wedded husband?" Isadora took a deep breath before speaking. "I do."

"You may now kiss the bride," the priest said, but Isadora froze. She turned and looked at Devon with pleading eyes, but instead of kissing her, he just took her hand and kissed her knuckles. As she felt his warm lips on her knuckles, her heart couldn't help but race.

She thought she was in heaven. But she was brought back to reality when she heard the priest say, "I now pronounce you man and wife." They headed for the dance floor, and Devon's hands swiftly slipped onto her waist, motioning her to dance with him.

"I don't know how to dance," she said. His eyes widened. "What princess can't dance?" he replied. "My parents forbid me from doing anything," she said in a low voice. "It's okay, I can teach you," he said.

With the help of Devon, they both danced beautifully, and Isadora's heart kept on fluttering. She almost forgot she was here to escape. The ceremony was over, and the night finally came to an end.

They retired to their chambers. Isadora was nervous about what was to come, but now, as she stood in their bedchamber, watching as Devon shrugged off his cloak and began to pace the room, she felt more exposed than ever before. "Are you scared?" he asked, his voice low and teasing.

Isadora felt her cheeks flush as she shook her head. "N-no, Your Grace," she stammered. "I am simply...nervous. I have never been with a man before." Devon laughed, a deep, rumbling sound that sent shivers down Isadora's spine.

"Don't worry, Princess," he said. "I'll go easy on you." Isadora's eyes widened as she realized what he was implying. "Your Grace, please," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "I am not ready for that." Devon raised an eyebrow.

"Oh?" he said. "And why is that?" Isadora hesitated, unsure of how to put her feelings into words."I do not wish to consummate our marriage until I am sure that there is some semblance of affection between us." Devon chuckled.

"Is that all?" he said. "Don't worry, Princess. I have no intention of falling in love with you unless ...humm never mind. Isadora felt a pang of sadness at his words, even though she knew that she should not have expected anything different.

She had always known that her marriage would be one of convenience, not love. But somehow, hearing it said so plainly made it all the more real. "I understand," she said quietly.

"But do not think that I am completely uninterested in you. I am willing to try to make this work, if you are." Devon stopped pacing and turned to face her, his eyes searching hers.

He leaned closer and Isadora thought he was going to kiss her but all he did was stare into her eyes he immediately redrew and thought.

"She does not have the blue bead but I was sure she was the one ,how could I have been mistaken ? Impossible, what should I do now? Divorce her? No he couldn't do that ,kill her? Nah ,throw her away and say it was a mistake, nah".

He was extremely angry with himself "arghh am so stupid" he said out loud,he felt guilty, and hated him self but thought of a perfect solution in his head "When I find her I will throw this woman away kill her and marry my love "Devon thought and a smirk appeared on his face ,as-if it would be thateasy to do.

"Why?" he asked the princess who was already scared by how crazy he acted yet he couldn't care less"Why would you do that? Why would you willingly marry a man you barely know?" Isadora hesitated, unsure of how to answer.

"Because I must," she said. "It is my duty as a princess, to do what is best for my kingdom." Devon shook his head.and said "You have no idea what you are getting into."

He walked towards her then, his steps slow and deliberate. Isadora felt her heart race as he approached, unsure of what he would do. But instead of reaching for her, he lifted a hand to her cheek, tracing the line of her jaw with his thumb.

Listen beautiful "stay away from me far away because you might not know what bit you,I can never fall in love with you, even if it was the only thing for me to survive I would love to remain dead than to love you"Devon said.
