At her wedding ceremony, he suddenly appeared and shouted, "I object!" Under the watchful eyes of the public, he destroyed the wedding and took her away domineeringly! Six years ago, he gave up on her because of his study and finally broke up with her. The first thing he did after coming back was to get her in his arms again. "Olivia, if you want to get married, you can only choose me!" It was said that love would weaken or even disappear with time. But in his heart, love never subsided but grew stronger.

Chapter 1 Returning Home

William Wei suffered the heartache constantly for these past six years. The name, Olivia Sha, hidden in his heart had been a torture, yet he kept her there, waiting for her. But his heart shattered into pieces when he learned today was her wedding day.

She was getting married to another man. He didn't even know her spouse's identity, appearance or personality. He didn't have any clue if this man had been with other women in the past.

William Wei let out a sigh before hopping into the cab absentmindedly. The cab driver turned down the meter, then glanced at him through the rearview mirror. "Sir, where do you want to go?"

William Wei came back to his senses. He blinked and looked at the time on his refined watch. It was almost ten o'clock. The wedding was about to begin. He was wearing a tailored sophisticated suit to attain the ceremony.

He was about to give the driver the address when his phone rang. He took the phone out of his pocket and read the name flashing on the screen. It was Kaylee.

She must have called to inform that the wedding had begun. Was he already late to attain the party?

He panicked and quickly received the call. "Hello, Aunt Kaylee."

Kaylee's anxious voice came from the other end of the phone. "William, hurry to the Ivy Psychiatric Hospital."

William Wei was startled at the way Kaylee was talking. It was evident how anxious she was. What happened? Why was she in such a hurry? Hospital? What was she talking about? Did something happen to Olivia Sha? But if she had an accident, she would be sent to a normal hospital, not a psychiatric hospital.

William Wei couldn't make a head or tail out of her words, but he decided to go to the psychiatric hospital. He hung up the call and asked the driver to take him to the Ivy Psychiatric Hospital.

The driver didn't waste any time after getting his direction. Once the engine came to life, William Wei turned his eyes and looked outside the window. H City had changed a lot from the last time he remembered. It was an undeniable fact that people would change. Then it was too obvious for a city to change as well.

About half an hour later, the car came to a stop in front of the hospital. The driver turned around and said, "Sir, we have arrived at the hospital."

William's eyes darted towards the hospital. The Ivy Psychiatric Hospital was not a small one.

William Wei paid the cab fare and got out of the car before turning to the hospital. Passing his wallet back into his suit pocket, he observed the hospital. Suddenly, a tremor ran down his spine for an unknown reason. He grimaced imagining the possibilities. What if he'd see Olivia in the hospital?

It must be Olivia, or Kaylee wouldn't be so nervous.

With this thought in his mind, he gulped in panic. He rushed into the hospital while taking out his phone and calling Kaylee. He didn't know the exact ward number, so, he'd have to ask her.

But after a few steps, he stopped walking. William saw Olivia Sha in her wedding dress. She was sitting on a bench in the garden of the hospital. She looked more mature compared to her past self. She wasn't as childish and unruly as she was a few years ago.

Maybe time could really change a person. He had thought that her arrogant and willful personality would never change for a lifetime, but now it seemed that he was wrong. Six years ago, he probably would have accepted that she would always rely on him and act like a spoiled child in front of him, but it wasn't the truth anymore.

He took a deep to calm his nerves before walking towards her.

Meanwhile, Olivia Sha's mind was on her father who was currently tied up in the ward. She told herself to not cry. Now that her father had become invalid, she would have to be more vigorous and stronger.

Chapter 2 At the Psychiatric Hospital

At the hospital, Olivia was sitting with her head down. Someone came and stood in front of her. Her eyes fell on the pair of leather shoes the person was wearing.

She frowned and looked up. The moment her eyes met William, she was taken aback to see him there.

His facial features were the same, hard and emotionless. Time did nothing to change them. However, in the past, when he was with her, he would never look at her with such cold eyes.

William noticed her panicking. It was evident from her expression that she had never forgotten about him.

William cleared his throat softly after sitting down beside her. "Long time no see. I thought we would never see each other in this life."

Olivia took a quick glance at him, then hurriedly looked away. She answered with a stutter, "Y-yes! We haven't seen each other for almost six years. How are you?"

His eyes fell on her in intertwined fingers as she fidgeted with them. She was nervous. She still cared about him. 'Should I thank her for still caring about me, the butler's son?' he wondered.

"I am good except that I have to work all day without a break," he replied in a deep voice.

Olivia's heart skipped a beat. He worked all day. That meant, in the past six years, he didn't have relationships with any woman or dated with anyone.

How did he spend the six years like that?

Seeing her go flabbergasted by his response, William asked with mockery in his tone, "Did you really think that after breaking up with you, I'd be over it that soon and date another woman?"

Olivia shook her head hastily. She never meant that. She had never seen him like a flirtatious type of man. She had only hoped that he could live a good life without her.

However, Olivia didn't show her true emotion and rudely replied, "Even if I think so, it's normal. You were an adult when you went abroad. 25 is the unrestrained and energetic age for young men. Besides, you are handsome. It's obvious that women must be throwing themselves at you to be your girlfriend."

Her words sounded envious. William couldn't stop himself from venting out anymore. He let out all his resentment against her for all these years. "If all women want to be my girlfriend, then why didn't you? Why did you break up with me? You practically disappeared from my life without a trace of connection. Do you even have an idea about how many phone calls I have made and how many e-mails I have sent you, Olivia? You never responded to me. Do you know how I felt every time I sat in front of the computer, looking at the empty mailbox and waiting for your response? Do you even understand how disappointed and empty I have felt when you left me alone?"

Listening to his complaints, Olivia couldn't anymore hold back. Tears welled up in her eyes. She made herself believe that she didn't have any tears left in her. But how wrong she was! She couldn't fall weak. She couldn't cry in front of him or anyone for that matter. She needed to be strong so could protect the Sha family.

She blinked back her tears and prevented herself from shedding tears. "We've broken up a long time ago. Your feelings have nothing to do with me now. How you feel and how disappointed you are has nothing to do with me!" she snapped, pretending to be heartless that he believed she was.

Indeed, his feelings had nothing to do with her. Today was her wedding day, so she must have moved on from him already.

But why was she in the hospital? If she was sitting here, then it must be her father Robert Sha who was ill. Realizing that Robert Sha was admitted to the psychiatric hospital, William's throat tightened. "Tell me, why are you at the hospital? Isn't today your wedding day? Aren't you eager to marry the man you like?"

Chapter 3 The Past Between The Two

Olivia's heart started beating double fast under William's intense gaze and query. It made her uncomfortable. She didn't expect that William would turn up at the time when she was about to get married. Did he come back because of her wedding?

She always had difficulty in keeping her emotions together whenever she was with William. He had this intense effect on her that could make her lose herself in only a couple of minutes spent with him. She warned herself not to get influenced by his words. She couldn't anymore afford to lose herself to him.

Olivia thought for a second before answering quietly, "It's my father. His mental state has not been in good conditions for past few years. He keeps remembering something he shouldn't remember. I don't know why and what is wrong with him. Today he had a relapse, so we brought him here. And what about you? Why are you here? You possibly have no reason to be here."

William observed her with pursed lips and a frown.

Of course, there was no need. After all, she had nothing to do with him. He was her ex, and the son of her family's butler.

William looked straight into her eyes, unblinkingly. "I came because of you. You were having your wedding today. I came to attend it. Shouldn't you allow a childhood sweetheart to attend your wedding? It was really unfortunate when Aunt Kaylee asked me to come to this hospital instead of going to your wedding venue."

Childhood sweetheart?

Olivia had hidden the memories of their childhood in the deepest part of her heart. Because whenever she'd remember them, the wound they had left in her heart would be reopened and she couldn't endure that one more time. It was too painful.

She calmed her nerves down before she looked him in the eye. She asked incredulously, "Have you really come back for me? I heard that you have built a very good business abroad. So you want me to believe that, you came back only to attend my wedding, leaving behind your kingdom you have built with great efforts?"

It was true. William was so passionate in the past to build his kingdom abroad on his own, to show off his worth. The main reason of his determination was that she was Robert's daughter. Robert's daughter would never marry a man who worked for others, so William wanted to establish a kingdom on his own. He didn't know what happened with her, but one day she just turned up and broke up with him. He was unprepared and it hurt him a lot, yet he still wanted to build his business. He wanted to prove it to her that she had made a wrong choice. He could be more successful and capable than any other man around her. He wanted her to realize that she made a wrong choice and would regret for the rest of her life.

William said, "Keeping our past in mind, I've come to celebrate your wedding."

She looked away from him before standing up. Since William had come to the hospital, she would take him to see her father. She didn't want to look rude.

Olivia smoothed down her wedding dress before saying, "Since you're already here, you can come see my father. He might feel better after you see him."

William didn't refuse and followed her into the hospital building. He didn't intend to let Olivia know what Robert had said to him before he went abroad. Now that Robert was really sick, he decided to keep the secret.

They took the elevator to the eighth floor. After leaving the elevator, they walked through the corridor and finally arrived at the VIP ward. William looked at the room number and nameplate outside with Robert's name.

Olivia hesitated for a moment. She seemed to want to say something to him, but didn't. Instead, she opened the door and walked in.

William followed her inside. The walls inside were made of imported soft leather. It was safe for the patient. No matter what the patient inside wanted to do, he couldn't hurt himself by banging his head on the wall.
