Chapter 1 One Fateful Night

Nora sat in front of her vanity mirror, staring at her reflection. She crimped her lips as her palm roamed her face, feeling the ugly scars caused by an accident she had about three years ago.

She glanced at the wall clock and gasped, "Oh, Lucas will soon be home; I need to get his dinner ready before he gets back from work."

She glanced around the room; everywhere was in a mess. Her clothes were scattered all over the room; she had been a bit under the weather and had been unable to perform her usual routine of cooking, cleaning, washing up, and arranging the entire house.

Since she got married to Lucas, she had been more of a maid than a wife. Lucas sees her as a destitute who meant nothing to him. He only used her as an instrument of sexual pleasure.

Her marriage to Lucas has brought her nothing but pain and misery. Though the marriage was not built on love, she still wished and hoped that Lucas would love her someday.

Nora quickly picked up the scattered clothes on the polished marble floor and arranged them neatly into the luxurious wardrobe. She changed the bedspread and cleaned up the entire room before rushing to the kitchen to prepare his meal. Lucas had ordered her to prepare cheesy beef pasta sauce with fish tacos before he left for work in the morning. As she prepared the meal, her mind went back to three years ago, when she met Lucas.

************************

Three years ago, Nora worked as a waiter in a bar. Her meager salary was used to cater for herself and her irresponsible father, who always ran into debt due to gambling. She was about to close for work that fateful night when Lucas barged into the bar, trembling in fright, his heart racing at an alarming speed.

Nora sensed his fear, and her heart skipped a beat, but she maintained her composure. "Sir, we are closed for the day. What can I do for you?" she asked politely.

Lucas' eyes darted around the bar in fear. "Please help me, hide me somewhere; some men are after my life." He said in between gasps, trying to catch his breath.

"Ok... just come with me," Nora said without hesitation as she grabbed his hands quickly and took him to the restroom, pushing him inside. "Just stay here and don't come out; I'll handle it." She shut the door of the restroom and went back to the bar.

Some thugs barged into the bar, holding some weapons. They looked scary in their massive figures and deep red eyes.

"Where is he? We saw him run into this bar," one of the men asked in a stern, rigid voice.

"Who?" Nora asked, feigning ignorance. "Nobody came here; I am the only one here, and I'm about to close for the day," she said in a stern voice, masking her nervousness with a frown.

"Liar!!" he fired back at her. "You are hiding him somewhere; search everywhere for him," he ordered his men.

The men searched the entire bar, turning the chairs and tables upside down.

"Boss, he is not here," one of the men said.

The boss frowned, "that's not possible. Have you checked the backyard or the restroom? I'm sure he is within these premises." He said with an air of certainty in his voice.

One of the men walked towards the restroom and was about to open the door when Nora stopped him. "Wait, I have told you that I'm the only one here. You have turned the bar upside down, and you are not yet satisfied. What more do you want?" Chloe said defensively, stylishly stopping the man from entering the restroom.

The boss landed a heavy slap on her face, making her fall back on one of the chairs involuntarily. She rubbed her cheeks profusely, and her cheeks turned red.

"How dare you question my men? Who the hell do you think you are?" he remarked in a mean voice, staring at her with complete hostility.

He pulled her from the chair and pushed her forcefully to hit the glass door. The glass door shattered, its splinters scattered all over her face.

"Let's go," he beckoned to the men, and they fled the scene.

Lucas rushed out of the restroom as soon as they left. He met Nora lying helplessly on the ground. Her face was bleeding profusely as she gasped for breath.

Lucas rushed her to the hospital and got her treated. Unfortunately, the accident had left a permanent scar that disfigured her face. Lucas felt pity for her that her face got disfigured because she was trying to save him. He took her into his house and took care of her till she fully recovered.

At that time, he was about to sign a multimillion-dollar deal, but he needed to be married for the business merger to happen. His girlfriend was studying abroad, and Nora was the only available option.

He decided to marry her instead, but their marriage was kept a secret in the eyes of the public.

**************************************

Nora had finished preparing the meal and dished it on the dining table as she awaited Lucas' arrival. Her body was sweaty as a result of the heat that emanated from the kitchen. She decided to go take a shower to feel cool and refreshed again.

She stepped into the bathroom and soaked herself in the cool jacuzzi, washing away the heat and stress of the day. Suddenly she heard a knock at the door; she got up abruptly, wrapping her towel around her chest.

She got out of the bathroom and rushed to the door, unlocking it and pushing it open. Her eyes met Lucas; his imposing figure stood before her, his face marred with pure disgust.

"Why did you keep me waiting for so long?" he asked in his usual cold voice, pushing her aside and stepping into the living room.

"I...I...was having a bath, and I didn't hear you knock the first time," she stuttered, feeling her heart beat wildly in her chest.

He grabbed her chin and lifted her face aggressively, meeting her with a steady gaze.

Her trepidation increased when she felt his hand on her chin. "Your...your food is ready?" she blurted out, fear and awkwardness engulfing her.

He moved his face close to hers, sniffing in the sweet scent of her shower gel. "I will eat later; right now I want to devour you," he whispered softly into her ears. "Strip!" he ordered.

Chapter 2 Will You Ever Love Me Back

He released the grip on her chin, and she shuddered violently; her heart was practically in her throat.

"Didn't you hear me? I said strip!" he said, his voice oozing a powerful, domineering aura.

Nora took a deep breath, trying to calm her trembling nerves; she released the fluffy white towel around her chest, allowing it to slowly drape down her body till it got to the ground. With her towel out of the way, her pointed breasts were exposed with her supple pink nipples winking at him, begging for his attention.

His eyes devoured her naked body, his gaze lingering on every inch of her exposed skin. His lust-filled eyes moved from her breast down to her curvy hips, her neatly shaved core shining in between.

Her face might be disfigured, but she had a sexy and alluring body. Just one look at her sexy and curvy body was enough to make his mind go wild with raw desire.

His rough hand impatiently scoured every inch of her firm, sexy body, burning with the beat of the intensity of his arousal. He cupped her breast and fondled her gently, giving her nipples a little pinch. A soft gasp escaped her mouth, mixed with pleasure and pain. Her senses heightened by the intimate caress of his fingertips.

He cupped the back of her neck before capturing her lips forcefully; she parted her lips to let his kiss dip in when he kissed her aggressively. Her body quivered with a mixture of excitement and vulnerability.

He then pushed her onto the reclining leather chair and spread her legs as far as he could. Her succulent pink core dripped with juice. Just the anticipation of burying himself deep in her wetness made his groin start to pulsate.

He aggressively loosened his tie and unbuttoned his white shirt, exposing his well-toned abs. He then undid his belt and pulled down his trousers and underpants.

His metallic stiffness was already standing to attention, hitting his thighs as he moved closer to her.

He pinned her down with his mountain-like body and moved aggressively like a ravenous lion devouring a meal. He smirked evilly and positioned himself well on top of her. He slowly placed his hardened dick on the entrance of her opening, pushing his entire length inside of her.

She felt a sharp pain as she took in all of him. She gripped his muscular arm and dug her nails into his skin, her eyeball creasing at the pain that ripped through her.

The pain gradually turned into pleasure, and she closed her eyes to revel in the pleasure. She relaxed and wrapped her legs around his torso, eliciting soft moans as he pounded her. She felt a tinge run down her spine, and her core clenched with a strange need.

Lucas groaned, grabbing a fistful of her hair as he mercilessly pounded her core. He rocked his hips back and forth, thrusting his stiff manhood in and out of her soaking core.

Their bodies shook with the force of their orgasm, and they clung to each other, gasping for breath. Lucas pulled out of her, his white liquid dripping out of his dick, messing up her thighs and the leather chair.

Lucas got up, feeling a wave of satisfaction; he picked up his clothes and hung them loosely on his shoulders. "Clean up this mess," he said impassively, strolling unashamedly into his room, butt naked.

As usual, Lucas always left her like a used rag immediately after having sex with her. He never cared about her mood or her feelings. She immediately becomes a statue as soon as he's done with her.

Nora could not deny the fact that Lucas was extremely good in bed. He always stirred up a fire in her soul each time they were close. His sensual touches always made her lost in the realms of pleasure, forgetting about his cold and cruel attitude towards her.

Her heart twitched, a bitter smile curved at the corner of her lips as reality hit her. Lucas was never going to love her no matter how much they had sex. She was only going to be his puppet, though she still had an iota of hope in her that Lucas would love her back sooner or later.

She had always loved Lucas since they got married despite his cold treatment towards her, but her love was never reciprocated.

His family members and friends who casually visited always mistook for a maid, and Lucas did nothing to refute the claims. He felt comfortable when people called her his maid; he was ashamed to call her his wife because of her looks.

"I thought I asked you to clean up this mess; why are you still seated there?" Lucas' mean voice cut through her thoughts, dragging her subconscious mind back to the surface.

He had already freshened up and changed into his favorite pajamas. He did not take a second look at Nora before he settled on the dining table, devouring the meal that he had been served. He nodded in approval as he ate, his taste buds savoring the deliciousness of the sumptuous meal.

She swallowed painfully as she picked up her towel and wrapped it back around her chest. She cleaned up the mess and staggered lazily into the guest bathroom to clean herself up.

She entered the bathroom, and her eyes went to the shelf hanging on the wall. She caught a glimpse of the pregnancy test kit she had bought earlier in the day as she was having some symptoms of pregnancy. Though she was skeptical about carrying out the test, attributing the symptoms to stress.

On second thought, she decided to carry out a pregnancy test. She brought out the strip and dipped it into her urine. She waited for some minutes until the result was visible. Her heart pounded erratically as she glanced at the strip to see the results. The strip had two visible lines, which indicated positive.

"It's positive; I'm pregnant," she let out a teary smile as her hands clutched her flat tummy.

Chapter 3 I'm Pregnant!

"I'm having Lucas' baby," a rush of joy flooded through her veins. "Let me go and tell him immediately. Maybe he will begin to love me once he finds out that I'm pregnant with his child." She said to herself, feeling a mix of happy and calm.

She opened the bathroom door and went to the living room, a broad smile plastered on her face as she was about to tell Lucas the good news, but her smile curved into a frown when she met his absence at the dining table. He had already finished the meal and retired to his room.

She strolled to the bedroom and met Lucas sprawled on the bed, fast asleep and snoring profusely.

She let out a loud sigh, "Oh! He's already asleep; I will just tell him tomorrow," she shrugged.

She changed into her nightwear and joined him on the bed, covering the both of them in the thick, fluffy duvet. She tossed and turned on the bed, battling with elusive sleep as her heart raced with anticipation of how to break the news to him.

She slowly drifted into sleep as the cool and crisp night breeze blew from the window, smooching her delicate skin.

The early morning sun streamed through the window, casting a warm glow into the room. Nora fluttered her eyes open; the sun rays sharply entered her eyes. She squinted her eyes and slowly opened them to adjust to the light that filtered through the room. She flipped to the other side of the bed and was slightly taken aback when she saw that Lucas was not there.

Her brows furrowed in confusion, she slid out of her comfy bed coverings and walked to the living room, hoping to see Lucas, but he was not there. She searched the kitchen, restroom, backyard and terrace but he was nowhere to be found.

"Where could he be? It's Saturday, and he doesn't work on weekends." She narrowed her eyes as she pondered. "I'll just call him," She dialed his number, and it rang repeatedly, but he was not picking up.

Her shoulder slumped as a feeling of frustration crept into her. She sank into the couch, staring blankly at the wall when her phone light suddenly beamed to indicate that a message had entered.

She glanced at the phone and saw that the message was from Lucas. She opened the message and read, "I'm busy; is there a problem?"

'I am pregnant,' she typed but immediately wiped off what she had typed. "I shouldn't reveal the news to him through a text message; I will wait for him to get back. I want to see the reaction on his face when I break the news," she said to herself.

"It's our three-year anniversary today, and there wouldn't be a better anniversary gift than the news of my pregnancy," she said, her eyes sparkling in delight.

She cleaned up the house as usual and prepared a variety of dishes ranging from roast chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans, and a dozen other dishes. Carefully arranging them on the dining table as the sweet aroma wafted through the air.

Being tired from preparing a variety of dishes, she took a warm bath and changed into a sexy red dress that hugged her body, and her blonde hair bounced as she walked into the living room, taking a seat on the leather couch.

She crossed one leg over the other, feeling a thrill of excitement as she patiently waited for Lucas to arrive. Minutes ticked by, each one seeming to last an eternity. She fell into a short sleep, sprawling on the couch. She woke up a few hours later and looked around to realize that Lucas was still not back.

She tapped her feet impatiently on the polished marble floor as the feeling of uneasiness crept into her. She kept calling his number, but he was not picking up.

"What could be keeping him busy that has made him ignore my calls? It's almost evening, and he's still not back," she said with a worried look on her face.

Suddenly she heard the whirring sound of Lucas' car driving into the compound. She peeked through the window and saw Lucas coming out of the car. "Thank goodness, he is back," she shut her eyes and heaved a sigh of relief.

She rushed out of the house, running to welcome Lucas with a hug, but paused in her tracks as she noticed a lady sitting comfortably on the passenger's seat.

She threw a curious glance at her from where she was standing, wondering who she was. Lucas walked over to the passenger's side and slowly opened the door for the lady. He held her hands, and she stepped out in style, flipping her blonde hair over her shoulder.

Their hands were hooked together like newly married couples, and they walked past Nora, completely ignoring her as if she were a ghost.

Nora stood there with a stunned look on her face. "What just happened? Who is that lady?" She muttered inwardly and walked into the room.

"Lucas! Why did you walk past me like that without saying anything to me?" Her voice rose with annoyance as she questioned.

Lucas' eyebrows creased. "I beg your pardon? Are you by any means referring to me? I can see you've got some nerves," he shook his head. "I brought you into this house, I provided you with food, clothing, and shelter, and I even paid off all your father's debts, and you have the guts to talk to me in such a disrespectful manner." He remarked, casting a condescending gaze at her.

Nora crimped her lips, feeling a tinge of remorse. She realized that she had overstepped her boundaries. "I... I'm sorry, it was a slip of the tongue," she stuttered. "What I wanted to say is that you didn't introduce me to your guest," she said, throwing a glance at the lady.

"Oh, I see, you really want to know who she is. Ok, I will tell you." He pulled the lady closer and slid his hands around her waist. "Meet Doris, my girlfriend, whom I'm in love with," he smirked. "Doris, this is Nora, the lady I told you about." His face broke into a beaming grin as he introduced Doris.

"Oh, I see," Doris scoffed, staring down at Nora, measuring her from head to toe. "The lady you married out of pity, she looks worse than I imagined. She looks more like a vampire than a human," she sneered, her voice dripping with scorn.

"How do you manage to keep up with her for three years? I can't believe that you wake up to this face every morning. Gosh! This is so disgusting. I feel like throwing up right now," she wrinkled her nose in disgust.

"Forget about her, dear; let's go to the bedroom." He turned his attention to Nora, "Take out all your belongings from my bedroom and move them to the guest room. Doris will be staying in my bedroom from today onwards," he announced; his voice carried an unsettling weight of authority.
