Chapter 1 A Trap

In the Passion Club.

A cool breeze blew through the open windows of the master bedroom of the presidential suite. The fine silk curtains swayed in the breeze, as if dancing to a sweet melody. The room was tastefully decorated to sooth the weary hotel guests. In the middle of the room there was a huge bed, with a couple in it. They were fast asleep. They looked beautiful and at peace.

The man's slender figure was covered with lean muscles, almost better than a model. His face was very attractive too. He had a pair of dashing eyebrows above his eyes. His straight high nose and his thin lips showed the man's fickleness. His prominent Adam's apple bobbed in his sleep. His hair was mussed and fell over his forehead. It added an air of carelessness to his face.

Although the woman's face was half buried under the quilt, judging by the slender figure and the small chin that peeked out from below the quilt, she seemed to be quite beautiful. She could be a little over five feet seven inches tall. Her waist was slender and her skin was fair and smooth.

Aden Morrison's head felt very heavy. He groaned and tried to press his temples with his thumb and forefinger. He felt as if his eyelids were stuck together. He had been in a bad mood yesterday and he couldn't remember how he got back to his room. Yesterday, his father had asked him to come home for dinner, but Aden didn't expect that his main purpose was to force him to break up with Gianna Cullen. He could never break up with her. Gianna was Aden's love. After he refused, his father actually used the position of the General Manager as a bargaining chip to force him to leave his beloved. If Aden wouldn't leave Gianna, then he would have to give the position of the GM to his elder brother Weston Morrison. Just thinking of it brought a scowl to Aden's face.

Humph! He, Aden Morrison, wanted both, the position and the beauty. Nothing could make him give up either. Aden would see to it that he got both, by hook or by crook.

Thinking of Gianna, Aden's mood got a bit lighter. He opened his eyes and looked down at the woman and he frowned.

Wait a minute! This was not his sweetheart. He suddenly shoved the woman away from him. His eyes looked as if they were dark bottomless pools.

The strong shove startled the woman awake.

Janiya Hamilton covered her eyes with her hands against the bright sunlight that had filled the room. Her head was very heavy. She frowned and rubbed her temples. With a groan, she slowly opened her eyes.

She looked around her, trying to figure out where she was. Before she could react, her slender neck was grabbed by a big strong hand.

"How dare you!" The strong hand was attached to a man. He was handsome and had a deep attractive voice too, but Janiya was not in a mood to appreciate it.

"Who are you? What do you want?" Janiya was trying her best to figure out what was happening. Why was everything so strange in front of her? Was she kidnapped?

"Why are you in my room?" Aden was so angry that he tightened his grip as if he was going to strangle the life out of the woman.

Even though the woman in front of him was beautiful even when she didn't have any make-up on, fury still burnt in his breast. Aden had seen countless beauties. Did she think that he would be attracted by her just because she had a beautiful face?

Janiya was unable to breathe and she was afraid that she was going to die. She struggled hard and tried to force the man to loosen his grip, but how could a weak woman escape from a man's strength?

When Aden realized that the woman had gone pale in the face and her struggles were getting weaker, he let go of her and wiped his hand in disgust.

Janiya lay on the bed and gasped for air. She started to cough, while tears were sliding down her cheeks.

Aden looked at the woman who was coughing violently on the bed. His face looked threatening and his eyes flashed with disgust. "If you appear in front of me again, I will make sure you cannot see the dawn of the next day."

He hated it when women tried all kinds of tricks to attract his attention. He didn't know how this woman had successfully entered his room.

When Janiya was finally able to catch her breath and the pending sense of death vanished from her mind, she was finally able to understand what was going on.

She gasped when she looked down at her naked body. Her face turned red with shame.

The man in front of her had definitely taken advantage of her, and now he was pretending to be the victim. Janiya would not spare him. "You brute, do you think you will be forgiven? You think these... these cheeky unreasonable words will save you? I don't know what happened at all. It's you who set me up. I'll sue you and I will see that you rot in prison."

Janiya looked frantically around her and spotted a phone on the bedside table. She quickly grabbed it and dialed 911, but the phone was snatched away from her as soon as she pressed the call button.

Aden looked at the phone that was connected, and then looked at the woman who was scared, but angry. He frowned at her and felt that something was definitely amiss.

"Hello, this is Police Station."

The voice of the police officer on the other end of the line clearly reached Janiya's ears. She yelled, "Help sir. I'm in the Passion Club. Please save me! Hurry!"

Unfortunately, the man cut the call before she could complete her sentence. Janiya wasn't sure how much the police officer had heard. She could only pray that the officer had heard everything that she had yelled at him.

Aden looked at the angry woman and asked in a harsh tone, "Didn't you play your tricks and enter my room?"

Janiya stared dumbfounded at Aden and thought, 'Who does he think he is?' As they were glaring at each other, Janiya suddenly realized that the man standing in front of her looked very familiar. She had seen him before, but where?

Wait a minute... Didn't her father show her a picture of this man yesterday? "Aren't you Aden Morrison, the General Manager of the Glory Group?"

Aden continued to glare at Janiya. He was still and quiet as a statue, trying to figure out whether she was acting or she genuinely had no idea about what had happened last night.

Janiya's eyes swept around her surroundings. The hotel room was tastefully decorated, which was definitely expensive. His clothes were stitched entirely by hand in Italy, so she was sure that the man in front of her was undoubtedly Aden Morrison.

"Since you are definitely the GM of the Glory Group, can you tell me why I am here? What's going on between us?"

Janiya had so many questions revolving in her head. Most of all she wanted to ask him why she was here and who had brought her here. But looking at the way Aden was reacting to the situation, she figured it couldn't have been him. Or was he acting? She was filled with confusion.

Aden was watching Janiya closely. He looked directly into her eyes, but was unable to see any sort of guilt or acting. He saw nothing but teary eyes that reflected confusion. And as he kept on looking, those eyes widened with fear and panic.

"If you don't know why you are here, then what exactly do you know?" Aden looked at all the clothes that were scattered on the floor. The woman had obviously good taste in clothing. Her clothes were with expensive designer labels. If the clothes belonged to her, then she was definitely rich. Being from the upper class, Aden had seen almost all the debutantes in Asopool. And he was sure that he had not seen this woman before.

Seeing that Aden was staring at her, Janiya tried her level best to ignore the sadness that she was feeling right now. She was forcing herself to gather her thoughts and be rational, rather than being disoriented.

Janiya had graduated from Harvard University and had just returned home yesterday from the USA. Her half-sister Jayla Hamilton insisted that they meet for dinner. Even though Janiya was tired from her travels, they decided to meet at the restaurant, which was located on the first floor of the Passion Club. They were having a good time, when all of a sudden Janiya started to feel dizzy. Jayla said that she had booked a room upstairs for them to rest, in case they happened to get tired. Janiya gratefully took the key card and went upstairs.

As she was going upstairs, her head started to get heavier by the minute. As soon as she found the room number, she went in. After that...

Chapter 2 Wrong Room

Aden didn't have time for Janiya to recall what had happened last night. He looked at his watch and saw that it was eight o'clock. He had an important meeting at nine and had to hurry back to the office.

He ignored Janiya and quickly stood up to finish dressing. He removed his check book from the inner pocket of his suit, scribbled a string of numbers on the check and threw it on the bed. "I don't care who you are or why you are in my room. Take the money and leave. Now that you know who I am, don't expect anything from me. Otherwise, I don't mind finishing the thing that I stopped just now."

Janiya had wanted to find a hole to hide herself. But when she heard Aden's harsh words and saw the check he threw at her, she was furious. She had never been so insulted in her life. Moreover, he threatened her. But she didn't believe that he would actually strangle her to death.

"Who the hell do you think you are? Yes, you're rich and you're boastful. But you're not that good. Let me tell you, money is not everything. There are many things that you can't buy with money, no matter how rich you are! I don't need your check. You said that you don't know why I am here, so you better not be lying. Otherwise, I will not spare you no matter how much I have to pay."

It was the first time that Aden had heard someone threaten him. Besides, this woman knew how rich and powerful he was. 'Well, ' he thought, 'she must be special.'

"Woman, you look cute when you are angry." Aden just wanted to pick on her, but he was shocked when those words came out of his mouth. He must have lost his mind.

Janiya was shocked and agitated at the same time. She didn't know whether she should take that as a compliment or an insult. Of all the things that Aden could say, she didn't expect him to say something like that. She grabbed a pillow near her and threw it at Aden.

"You are a bad man!"

When Aden had turned to leave, he was hit by a pillow on the back. He turned around to inform her about the price of irritating him, but stopped on second thought. He turned and walked out of the hotel suite.

After hearing the slam of the door, Janiya got up and ran to the door. She made sure that Aden had really left and locked the door. She went back to the bedroom and sat on the bed with her knees drawn up. She couldn't help but cry at her situation.

'Why this happened? And why can't I remember anything? What's going on?' Janiya thought.

After a long time, Janiya finally got off the bed and went to pick up her bag from the floor. She took out her phone, but there wasn't a single missed call. Even Jayla hadn't called her. She bit her lip, trying to figure out what had happened last night. She dressed quickly while her anxiety was rising by the minute. Janiya rubbed her aching head. She had a very bad feeling about this, but she suppressed it and got ready to leave.

Janiya didn't want to stay here any longer. She needed to know the truth.

However, as she walked out of the presidential suite, she was stunned.

She looked at the room number "666", and then at the number "999" printed on her key card. Jayla hadn't booked that room. Scenes from last night flashed through Janiya's mind. She had read the number on the key card as "666" and took the elevator to the sixth floor. When she had gotten out of the elevator, she had felt all the more dizzy. She stumbled to the room and leaned against the door to unlock it with the key card, however she found that it was already open. So she went straight in.

"I went to the wrong room!" Janiya said out loud. Janiya didn't want to admit it, but it was the truth. She was angry with herself, but at the same time she was relieved. It was much better than to think that it was all planned by Jayla.

She walked into the elevator, feeling a little better. She spent a night with a stranger, just because she walked into the wrong room. It was probably the biggest joke in the world.

However, unknown to both Aden and Janiya, someone had clicked pictures of them entering and leaving the room.

Meanwhile in the room 999, Jayla was amused.

"Janiya, I didn't expect that you would choose Aden over the man I selected for you. Well, in that case, don't blame me for the things that are going to come your way."

Jayla spoke out loud to herself. She smiled and sipped coffee elegantly from the cup in her hand. She then picked up the phone and said, "Send the material that I've sent to you to the media. I want everyone in Asopool to know that Janiya has stolen someone else's boyfriend. She is nothing but a mistress."

...

Muddleheaded, Janiya walked back to her house. Her father said with concern, "You are back, Niya. Jayla said that you were tired last night, so you stayed in the hotel. You came back from abroad, but you didn't come home for the first night. Didn't you know how worried I would be, dear?"

Janiya forced a smile on her lips and held Jedidiah Hamilton's arm as if nothing had happened. "Dad, I'm here now. It was late yesterday and I didn't want to disturb you, so I stayed at the hotel. By the way, where is Jayla?"

Looking at his beloved daughter, Jedidiah shook his head and said, "She went out early in the morning. I don't know where she is."

Janiya thought luck was on her side when Jedidiah told her that Jayla was not at home. Because, if Jayla asked her about last night, Janiya really wouldn't know how to answer. "Dad, I'm still a bit tired. I want to go upstairs and rest."

When she went to her room, Janiya threw herself on her bed and sank her face in the pillow. She berated herself, 'Janiya, are you stupid? You graduated from Harvard University and majored in accounting. How could you possibly go to the wrong room? Your virginity and reputation are ruined!'

Janiya kept lying in bed the entire day. All her beautiful dreams and plans were destroyed by entering a wrong room. She was overwhelmed by grief.

After thinking about what had happened all day long, Janiya finally decided to go for a walk the next morning to relax, think and make plans for the future. However, the next day before she would set out as planned, something unexpected happened.

When she went down to let her dad know that she was going for a walk, he called her to his study. Jedidiah was sitting at his desk, with the newspaper in front of him.

"Niya, how do you explain this?" he asked her with a serious and troubled look. He pushed the newspaper towards her.

Puzzled, Janiya took the newspaper. Her eyes widened and she felt the blood drain from her face when she read the headline. "The Glory Group's General Manager has a new girlfriend, and she is the daughter of Hamilton Group's CEO."

"Janiya, the first daughter of Hamilton Group's CEO, who was studying abroad, has completed her studies and returned home. And within a day, she has become romantically involved with the General Manager of Glory Group. Turns out that this young Harvard graduate, not only likes studying, but also likes to steal someone else's boyfriend. Aden Morrison, the General Manager of Glory Group, abandoned his girlfriend, who he has been dating for the past two years, and began to see Janiya. They spent a romantic night at Passion Club..."

At the end of the article, there were photos that showed Aden and Janiya, entering and leaving the same room. Furthermore, Janiya's embarrassed look was captured by the reporter.

Janiya crumpled the newspaper. Her face was pale and there were tears in her eyes.

"Niya, you've only been back for a day and your face is splashed all over the news. How could such a thing take place? I don't believe that you are such a woman. What happened?" Although Jedidiah doted on Janiya, he was very strict with her in terms of education.

Janiya didn't know how to explain it to her dad. She said in a choked voice, "Dad, it's not like that. I don't know how to explain it, but I didn't steal anyone's boyfriend. I'm not this... this Aden's mistress. I..."

"So this report is fake?" Jedidiah questioned in relief.

Chapter 3 A Father's Ultimatum

Janiya couldn't meet her father's eyes. She didn't say anything, because she couldn't lie. Although she didn't steal anyone's boyfriend, what happened at Passion Club was true.

Looking at Janiya who was silent, Jedidiah was disappointed. "Niya, you're a girl. Do you know how much damage this will do to your reputation? I won't force you to do anything. But I will ask the Morrison family to make it up to you."

"Dad, please don't. It's not what you think. It's my fault. I... I went to the wrong room," Janiya mumbled. But Jedidiah heard her clearly.

He looked at Janiya in disbelief. He felt sorry for his dear daughter.

Yesterday, he showed Janiya photos of the young talents in Asopool. Aden was of course one of them. If Janiya was interested in Aden, he would have arranged a blind date for them. However, she just glanced at his photo and refused. She wanted the freedom to select her own boyfriend. However, he didn't expect that such a ridiculous thing to occur.

"Niya, how will you deal with it?" Jedidiah clearly knew how much Janiya cared about her reputation. At this moment, he wanted to know her opinion.

"Dad, please let it go. It's all my fault, but I have never thought of stealing someone else's boyfriend. Furthermore, I'm not interested in Aden." Janiya just wished that all this could be over as soon as possible.

"Niya, Aden is a rising star in the business field. If you fancy him, I will make a match between the both of you. But if you don't, I will suppress it. Don't worry. I won't let anyone hurt you."

"Thank you, Dad. I hope I can have the right to choose my Mr. Charming." Janiya insisted on this point. Her biggest wish was to marry a man who loved her a lot.

In the Morrison family's villa.

Maison Morrison looked at Aden, who was standing opposite him, and smiled happily. "So Aden, it turns out that you fancy Mr. Hamilton's daughter. No wonder you were not interested in the women I arranged for you. Why didn't you tell me? Bring her here one evening to have dinner with us."

Although Maison didn't know Janiya, he knew Janiya's father and that was enough. Aden's wife could only be a daughter from a family of equal social rank with the Morrison family.

Aden frowned and said, "Dad, I have nothing to do with Janiya. Gianna is the only woman for me and I only want to marry her."

"You have nothing to do with Janiya? Then what are these photos? She is the daughter of the Hamilton family. Do you think you can get rid of her so easily? Let me tell you something. Whether you have a relationship with Janiya or no, your future wife can only be her. As for Gianna, she will never marry into our family."

Maison leaned his forearms on the table and looked at Aden seriously. He said in a firm tone, "I'll call Mr. Hamilton right away. If you don't marry Janiya, Gianna will disappear from this world. Besides, an irrational person can't run the company well. I'll ask Weston to take over your position."

Aden looked at Maison in disbelief, his eyes full of anger. "I won't marry Janiya. If I can never see Gianna, I will see to it that Janiya disappears. Anyway, I just want to marry Gianna."

Maison stood up and threw the document on the table at Aden. "Aden, how dare you go against me? So you'll make Janiya disappear? Then next day I'll bring another lady from another family in front of you."

Aden froze. Yes. He had only one Gianna. However, even if Janiya disappeared, Maison would find another woman for him. Maison didn't care who Aden's wife would be. As long as that woman's family was as powerful and rich as the Morrison family, and could help promote his business, Maison would be pleased.

After leaving the Morrison family's residence, Aden was frustrated. He got in his car and drove aimlessly through the city. He recalled what happened yesterday at the hotel and came to the conclusion that Janiya orchestrated the entire thing. She wanted to pester him and trap him into marriage. He had thought Janiya was a courageous and special person, but she turned out to be a calculating and vicious witch.

Aden had to neutralize the situation, so he called the one person whom he trusted. "Lachlan, no matter what you do, I want all the news about me and Janiya to disappear immediately."

After hanging up the phone, Aden drove towards Gianna's house. She must be worried, since she had called him several times. He had to go and speak to her and explain everything.

As soon as he reached, he took off his coat and tie. Gianna sat on the living room sofa and looked at him with eyes filled with tears. It pained Aden to see that she was sobbing her heart out.

"Aden, I thought you would never come back." Gianna's tearful eyes and low voice made Aden feel heartbroken.

He sat down next to her and pulled her in his arms. He kissed her head and sighed, "Silly girl, where can I go if I don't come back here? Don't think too much. I will handle everything. You just need to remember two things. You're the only woman for me and you will only marry me."

Aden stressed on his words. He couldn't figure out whether he was reassuring Gianna or convincing himself.

"I'm so relieved to hear that. I love you, Aden." Gianna looked up at Aden and asked, "About the report... Is it true? About you and Miss Hamilton..."

Before she could finish her sentence, Aden interrupted her, "Don't think too much. It's late. Go to your room and rest."

Although Gianna was disappointed, she didn't show it. She knew Aden well. It was very clear, what she could ask and what she couldn't.

She was extremely curious and jealous. After all, Janiya came from the Hamilton family, which was as powerful as Aden's family. Furthermore, that was a stunning woman, who had delicate features and a perfect figure. Janiya was certainly more beautiful than her, so Gianna couldn't hold back her worry and jealousy. However, she cleverly hid it from Aden.

"Darling, I want you to carry me to my room, in your arms." Gianna reached out her arms, pouted and acted like a spoiled child.

Aden laughed. He picked up Gianna and walked towards the bedroom.

Gianna sank her face into Aden's arms. Only at this moment did she feel secure. She thought to herself, 'This man, Aden, belongs to me!'

Aden and Gianna were classmates at the university. Gianna came from a poor family, but Aden had a powerful family. Initially, there was no chance for them to know each other, but one day, she saved Aden from an accident. From then on, they were in love with each other.

If Gianna hadn't risked her life to save Aden, she would not have qualified to stand by Aden's side.

On the other side, Janiya's plans to travel had gotten ruined. She stayed home all day, so as to not get ambushed by the reporters camped outside her home. Because, no matter how bold those reporters were, they didn't have the guts to break into the Hamilton's villa.
