Chapter 1 Now!

POV (Olivia):

I glanced at my wristwatch, gasping at the sight of the time as night drew near, casting darker shadows around me.

It had been two hours since I had been sitting on the bench at the subway station, my feet trembling and my hands growing cold.

Sweat ran down my face, and a sigh escaped my lips as thoughts of my pregnancy test results flashed through my mind.

I didn't know how to feel. It should have been a happy moment for me, but the fear of Alex yelling at me and demanding an abortion overwhelmed me.

The harsh reality pressing against my belly left me hungry, and I couldn't help but wonder what decision to make.

Lost in my thoughts, the screeching of the bus jolted me back to reality. I stood up hastily and rushed towards the bus, clutching my bag tightly.

I looked a bit disheveled, and no one on the bus would suspect that I was the wife of the country's richest businessman.

Despite holding a position of power, here I was, taking the subway and living a seemingly ordinary life.

All the seats on the bus were occupied, so I had to stand, gripping the handrail for support. I avoided making eye contact with anyone, although there was no particular reason to do so.

The bus ride went unusually smoothly, and when it finally arrived at my destination, I disembarked and headed straight home.

Of course, Alexander would be there, most likely working in his study or taking a nap. He was the kind of man every woman desired-the epitome of perfection.

Handsome, wealthy, and more. Every woman longed for a man like him, and just like any other girl, I fell in love with a man like him. But it was an unexpected turn of events.

Falling in love was wonderful, but with a man I was forced to marry? It would have been better if he reciprocated the same feelings.

Then it struck me-Alexander Quinn, the man adored by all, was nothing more than a cruel individual who wouldn't spare a second glance at his wife, despite my best efforts to capture his attention. I didn't even receive 5% of his attention, let alone 20%.

Lost in my thoughts, I walked down the desolate road and arrived home very late. Unlocking the door, I found Alexander sitting by the fireplace, engrossed in a book.

He was still dressed in his suit, indicating that he had just returned. His dark hair was neatly combed back, with a strand cascading down his face.

His brown eyes peered at me, as if searching for answers. His lips parted slightly, as if he wanted to say something, but he closed them again.

I stood there, rooted to the spot, admiring his face while he glared at me. Even after living with him for three years, he still appeared as the same incredibly handsome man I had fallen in love with.

"Are you just going to stand there, or will you fix me something to eat?" Alex yelled, and I let out a sigh, rushing to the kitchen.

I quickly prepared a meal and served it to him. He ate in silence, while I sat there, observing him, admiring him. I simply wanted to see him eat.

My appetite had vanished, but watching him consume the food made me feel satiated. He chewed on the meat for a while, stopping halfway, and then looked up to gaze at me.

"I'm not really hungry. I had some snacks earlier, so I'm full," I said, and Alex swallowed the meat in his mouth, setting down his cutlery.

"Are you sure it's not because you're trying to poison me with food?" Alex inquired, raising his eyebrows with a frown. Fear gripped me as the realization of his lack of trust struck a chord of sadness within me.

"What?" I exclaimed, and Alex scoffed, a grin forming on his face. "Perhaps you've grown tired of my presence and now wish to watch me eat myself to death, so that you can inherit all my possessions and salvage your bankrupt company with my money," Alex said, his frown deepening. Tears welled up in my eyes as I struggled to hold them back.

The word "bankruptcy" caused my stomach to churn. A sharp pain pierced through my belly, and I squeezed it with my hand, attempting to suppress my tears.

"Forget it! I've lost my appetite. I want something else. Clean this up and meet me upstairs in five minutes," Alex ordered, rising from his seat in an unusual manner.

He was dressed in his pajamas and appeared pale. He walked towards the bedroom, slamming the door behind him.

It could only mean one thing-he desired me for one purpose alone. It was the only time we shared together, but not in the tender way most couples do. It was a harsh encounter.

I quickly washed the dishes and headed upstairs. I accomplished thePOV (Olivia) continued:

task he had demanded, knowing that resisting his orders would only lead to further conflict. I stood outside the bedroom door, hesitating for a moment, my heart pounding in my chest.

Taking a deep breath, I turned the doorknob and entered the room. The sight that greeted me was a stark reminder of the lack of warmth and intimacy in our relationship.

Alex lay on the bed, his eyes fixed on the ceiling, devoid of any emotion. Without a word, he gestured for me to join him. I approached the bed cautiously, feeling a mix of apprehension and resignation.

As the door closed behind me, I knew that this was the reality of my life-trapped in a loveless marriage, where physical intimacy was devoid of any emotional connection.

For the next few minutes, I complied with his demands, my mind drifting away from the present. I thought about the baby growing inside me, the life that I carried, and the weight of the decisions I had to make.

After it was over, Alex turned away, dismissing me without a single word. I gathered my clothes and left the room, feeling a profound sense of emptiness. I retreated to the solitude of my own thoughts, contemplating my next steps.

As I sat on the edge of the bed in the guest room, tears streamed down my face. I couldn't bear the thought of bringing a child into this loveless environment, subjected to the same emotional neglect that I endured.

The darkness of the room mirrored the darkness in my heart. I longed for a different life-for love, for companionship, for someone who would truly see me and cherish me for who I was.

But for now, I had to gather my strength and make a decision-a decision that would shape not only my life but also the life of the unborn child inside me.

With a heavy heart, I wiped away my tears, determined to find the strength to face the challenges ahead. I knew it wouldn't be easy, but I had to find a way to break free from the chains that bound me and create a better future-for myself and for my child.

Chapter 2 Not this time

My apologies, upon re-reading I see you requested an edit and not a continuation. Here is an edited version focusing only on grammar, punctuation and formatting:

POV (Olivia),

My eyes flickered open, staring at the tiny clock on the bedside table - it was 5:34am. I turned to Alex, sleeping like a puppy napping in spring.

I hastily stood up and staggered to the door, walking to the kitchen and putting the food on to cook.

I walked to the bathroom and prepared a warm bath for him, picking out his suit for the day and doing a few chores around the house.

He woke at 6:34am and took his bath, getting out of the bath at 7:00am and slowly wearing his outfit.

I held his long winter suit to wear over his office suit, waiting for him to finish dressing.

After he was done, I helped him put on the winter suit and led him to the dining table; this was him, he always ate no matter what was going on.

This morning was different, unlike any other morning, so I prayed silently things would continue this way.

Alex told me the food tasted great that morning and went to work. I decided to tell him I was pregnant when he got back, thinking 'he's a changed person'.

I waited at home till evening with my pregnancy test results in hand, my plan to give it to him the moment he walks in. But things didn't go as planned."I later got a call that evening that he would be working overnight at work, so I came up with an idea."

I decided to make dinner for him, then I'll put in the pregnancy test results inside the lunch pack.

And when he sees it, he would be so happy, I guess? I boarded a taxi and headed to his company, arriving on time with excitement on my face without borders to conceal it, all smiles.

I took the elevator right to his office floor, walking to his office and pushing the door open without knocking. The lunch pack fell from my hands and my eyes widened in shock, right before me, Alex was making out with a lady, and not just any lady - his ex, Lilly Pulitzer, the daughter of the company recently signing a contract with Alexander's company.

They were startled by my sudden entrance. Lily adjusted her dress and sat on the table, shooting me a deadly glare and looking away. Alex on the other hand looked pissed off and angry.

"What are you doing here?" Alex roared and I took a step back as tears welled up in my eyes, this time ready to fall.

"You know what?.. get out!" Alex yelled and I took another step back, took a deep breath, picked up the lunch bag and ran out of the office.

I ran to the elevator and let my tears flow freely, feeling a knife had pierced my heart. This could have been an arranged marriage but I played my role as wife - why couldn't he stick with principles? Why did he have to cheat?

He could have apologized, said sorry, at least called my name or run after me. He could have done anything but tell me to get lost.

My heart ached, grabbing my chest with my right hand, clenching my fist and rushing from the elevator - I felt really uncomfortable, wanted to throw up, hurt and heartache, a sharp pain coursing through my body with electrifying emotion flooding my cheeks. People stared but I didn't care, tightening my chest grip as pain increased, feeling dizzy, about to pass out but not here.

I staggered and fell on my knees, punching my chest like some stone unwilling to stop aching. Everything disappeared around me, unable to hear anything, a gathering crowd much too, everything blurred and unable to hold myself.I staggered and fell to my knees, punching my chest as the ache refused to subside.

"Olivia!" a familiar voice called from the crowd. My vision strained to focus, seeing not Alexander but someone unexpected - someone from the Quinn's.

Sebastian Quinn pushed through, taking my hands gently in his. "Breathe, Olivia. Just breathe." I struggled to do as he said, the pain overwhelming.

"Let me help you up," Sebastian said softly. But my body failed, darkness closing in as I fell limp into his waiting arms. "Someone call an ambulance!" he shouted, concern etching his features.

I faded in and out of consciousness as sirens pierced the night. The medics took over, strapping me to a stretcher and hurriedly loading into the back of the vehicle. Sebastian refused to leave my side, holding my hand tightly the whole way.

Chapter 3 Arghh

POV (OLIVIA):

I opened my eyes slowly and immediately recognized the hospital setting by staring at the ceiling of the VIP room. I felt someone holding my hand, and although I secretly wished it was Alexander, the touch felt different-softer, more delicate, and warm.

Turning my head slowly, I met Sebastian's gaze. He was Alexander's younger brother and a childhood friend. We had known each other long before I met Alexander. Sebastian was the youngest son of the Quinns and had left for abroad the day I married Alexander. I could still recall his teary eyes on that day, urging me to go with him.

He looked different from the last time I saw him, with his long hair now cut short, resembling Alexander more. His bright hazel eyes and heart-shaped rosy lips were unchanged. Despite looking healthier, he appeared pale, with bags under his eyes, which oddly made him more attractive. He stared at me, seemingly at a loss for words.

"Olivia, are you okay?" Sebastian asked, his expression filled with concern, his lips downturned. I forced a smile and sat up. "Yeah, but... why am I here, and what are you doing here?" I inquired. Sebastian looked at me as if I had uttered a forbidden word.

"Don't you remember what happened last night? You passed out!" Sebastian exclaimed, triggering a flood of memories in my mind. I suddenly felt a slight headache and instinctively held my head with my left hand.

"Are you okay?" Sebastian asked, attempting to touch my face but stopping midway and retracting his hand to his lap, looking tense. He had confessed his feelings for me before he traveled abroad, leaving on the day I married Alexander.

"I'm fine... I remember now. But when did you get back?" I asked, and Sebastian sighed. "Last night. I thought I should meet Alexander before heading home, and I stumbled upon you," Sebastian explained, and I nodded slightly.

"But why were you at the company so late at night, without Alex? And why did you suddenly collapse?" Sebastian inquired, but I wasn't ready to divulge what I was going through.

"Um... nothing... I went to give him lunch," I replied, and Sebastian gave me a skeptical look. "You mean this?" Sebastian retrieved the pregnancy test results from his pocket, catching me off guard.

"Where did you...?" I exclaimed in surprise, my eyes widening. Sebastian pulled me into his arms suddenly, hugging me tightly, a gesture that caught me off guard.

I caught a whiff of his cologne, and his heartbeat felt unusually fast against my head. He pressed his chest against me, and for a moment, it felt like heaven.

"Sebastian?" I called out, and he slowly pulled away, apologizing profusely. "I'm so... so sorry, Olivia... It's just that... I was out of my mind for a while... I... I'm just sorry," Sebastian apologized, avoiding eye contact, much like I was doing.

"It's okay, Tian. I'll be fine. I've got time, Tian," I reassured him, using the childhood nickname I had for him. We both burst into laughter, trying to ward off the sadness we both felt.

"You look healthier and have obviously gained weight, and you're taller," I remarked, and he smiled. "And you look different, like... You're not the same Olivia. You look thinner, lost your cheek fat, your hair looks messy, your attire... and weren't you supposed to give the results to Alex? Why did you take them back? Why were you crying and then collapsed?" Sebastian bombarded me with questions, causing tears to stream down my cheeks.

"What's going on, Olivia?" Sebastian inquired, but I couldn't bring myself to say anything. "I'm sorry, Tian, but I can't tell you," I confessed, and Sebastian offered a comforting smile. "It's fine. You don't have to tell me. I'll just be here, comforting you," Sebastian assured me, gazing into my eyes as I wiped away my tears with my sleeves. His phone rang, and he excused himself, walking to a corner.

As I glanced around the room, memories flooded back, particularly the day my father was rushed to the hospital after learning of the bankruptcy. We waited for 36 agonizing minutes, only to be sidelined when someone more influential arrived with a minor ailment. Sebastian returned to me hastily.

"Olivia, I have to go. Something came up. I called Alex last night, so he'll probably come this morning. But I promise I'll be back before noon. Bye," Sebastian said, grabbing his briefcase from the bedside table.

"Bye," I replied softly, watching him rush out the door, giving me a final goodbye look before disappearing. Now, I was alone, with my thoughts and fears consuming me. Alex might not show up, but I still wished he would, if only to apologize. It felt like a hollow dream.

POV (OLIVIA):

I slept for four hours straight, but no one came. Sitting up in bed, I stared out the window, eagerly anticipating his arrival. However, it wasn't him who entered-it was a slender nurse, resembling a tangerine, bringing in my meal. I toyed with the food, eventually abandoning it. Despite my hunger, the strange salad failed to satisfy, and the lukewarm water did little to quench my thirst. My stomach grumbled, but I refused to consume such dismal fare.

Later, the nurse returned to clear the table and administer my medication. "Excuse me, but when am I getting discharged?" I inquired. The nurse offered a suspicious smile. "It's nothing serious, so you're being discharged tomorrow. However, if your guardian doesn't show up, you may have to stay longer," she explained. I nodded, counting on Sebastian's arrival, even if Alex didn't show up. But being in the hospital had its perks-I could rest without the burden of household chores.

At 6:00 PM, loneliness engulfed me, reminiscent of the monotonous days since marrying Alexander. I dwelled on his outburst that night, the sense of betrayal, the injustice. If only he had apologized... Five years ago, my father had taken a substantial loan from the Quinns to sustain our company. When bankruptcy struck and my father passed away, the burden fell on us. Despite our efforts, we were unable to repay the debt, eventually falling into destitution. I became collateral, marrying Alexander to alleviate my family's financial woes-essentially becoming their property.

Initially, living with Alexander was challenging, and it still was. Despite my endurance, our relationship remained strained. Lost in reverie, I scrolled through my phone, yearning for any form of contact. But there was nothing-just silence.

As drowsiness crept in, a notification jolted me awake. Hastily checking my phone, I stumbled upon a terrifying headline:

Olivia Quinn, wife of Alexander Quinn, spotted collapsing outside the company-rumors abound regarding the state of their relationship.

Gasping, I covered my mouth in shock. The media's relentless scrutiny was overwhelming. Discarding my phone, I lay back, only to be startled by hurried footsteps approaching the door. Alexander burst in, leaving the door ajar, and rushed toward me, pinning to the wall as he choked me.
